Achak smiled softly at Shale, as he ate hearing him talk about his old pack, make Achak miss his own slightly, but he smiled quickly gorging himself on the other half of the rabbit. "I know what you mean, I left my old pack when I was probably too young so I've been on my own for a long time." He finished eating smiling. "And yeah we probably got lucky, but I'm glad we did even if its a smaller meal it tastes good." his tail thudded against the ground softly staring at his new friend kindly. "So uh are you searching for something or just wandering around like me?"

Shale lay down on the sparse grass, enjoying the warmth of the sun-warmed ground as Achak finished off the rabbit. "Oh, no," he said, in answer to Achak's question. "I'm definitely searching for a new pack...eventually. I'd never last long on my own, even if I wanted to. I feel safer in a group. Mostly because there's not a lot I can do in the way of self-defense if someone decides that they have a problem with me." Which has definitely happened before. Often.
Shale fell silent for a long moment, drawing a long sigh. "So what about you?" he asked finally. "Did you have a pack once, too, or have you always been on your own?"

Nooné watched, as Aenemys makes her way slowly and silently towards the group of prey, already visible, neither of them needing to rely on their sense of smell to be aware of their presence. "Well, I hope you're able to catch one of the suckers now because I think we're just about on top of them," she says, smiling at the Iberian, stealthily closing up on the nearest burrow. The young male sat on the ground, spectating Nemys's prowess. It didn't take her that long to catch the first individual, closing the gap between the two of them with a leap, claiming her prey. Panting, she looks at Nooné, was already making his way towards his position. "Damn! You are really good at this Nemys!," he said, turning towards the remaining small animals distribuited around the valley. "Guess it's my turn now. See that brown one, with the white spots over there?" the male asked the female. "Concentrate on how he moves, on how he sprints...," said Nooné, looking at his partner out the corner of his eye, making sure she was focusing solely on the creature. "Yoink!" shouted the Iberian, biting on one of the legs of Aenemys's fallen prey, carrying it on his mouth and running as fast as he could, expecting the female to chase him for the stolen breakfast. Grass pollen eddy aimlessly upwards, their leafy maternal culm busting underneath the ashen lupine's flimsy pedes that saunters languidly over the florid pasture. Unbolting her maw to release a relaxed yawn the élégante draws up sluggishly, the aridity of her raspberry mouth cavity compelling the nifty dame to silence. Waggling her small-boned audits she inspects the flourishing ambiance, coniferous trees and motley garbed butterflies capturing her attention before she throws an inquisitive look at the vegetated area, elongated tail brandishing energetically. This place was perfect for calming her muddled cogitations and perhaps to take a tranquil map if there are no birds around. Scowling at the tought of the feathered creatures interrupting her peace, she continues her unwinding constitutional. Her tabulated thoughts begin to fall to pieces, a heavy brume obfuscating her usually sharp mind. Alone. She was alone. Clenching her barbed teeth forcefully the maiden agitates her slender skull attempting to clear her foggy nous. Wallowing in self-pity was a deed of the weak and most certainly incongruous to her sublime and puissant nature. She didn't know where to go or what to do when she first left her pack but eventually she got used to it. But the real annoying part of her journey was the females. Probably her appearance was causing such drivel. But she couldn't blame them, her presumptious behavior or refined visage was nothing but a tease to her counterparts. Besides females, she had been crossing paths with some males and as usual been scuttling off before they decide to take her as their dear mate. Almira was not impervious to genuine feelings, merely antipathetic to tolerate such an egregious discrepancy from her dwelled angularity of manners.
Eyes enjoying the vegetated view before them, she slowly sits up and emits a soft sigh. The lunar ball eventually dissolves and clears the way for the calorific light of the sun. Almira's fur rehashes under the influence of the strong rays and slowly she opens her eyes to greet the new day. The youthful belle is in bewilderment as she assesses the state of the surroundings around her. Shaking out her scruff she hustles her habitus upwards and drinks in the ligneous air. Pictures of her homeland bicker through her head and for a split second she nearly misses the infamous woodland but she slips the plaintive cogitations off her mind and instead offers the new day her elusive smile.

Achak sighed slightly, he hadn't wanted to talk about it. His fear was that all the memories would come back, and his drive to find them all again would return with it, he was just starting to settle down. "Yes I had a pack once, I left because some of the members got taken, they just disappeared, no one knows what happened." He laid down next to Shale calmly. "But for the greater part of my life I've been alone yes, its not that I don't like other wolves just that they often have other ideas than befriending a lone wolf like me." He chuckled softly. "Of course there's been a few who seemed to make an effort but when I was younger I was too foolish to accept their offers." He laid his head down slowly. "And I was searching for them, the lost wolves until recently I figured it'd be better to just let them go."

Shale felt something tighten in his chest as Achak told his story. Wolves who disappeared without a trace and never returned? He'd heard things about some of the packs in this region, things that made him uneasy and set him on edge, but this...this was an entirely different situation altogether. Unlike Achak, he was new to being on his own, and he wasn't sure he was entirely comfortable with the idea. Not when things like this might happen. He was suddenly glad for Achak's presence beside him. "So why did you stop?" he asked. "Searching for them, I mean. What made you decide to let them go?"

"Damn! You are really good at this Nemys! Guess it's my turn now. See that brown one, with the white spots over there?" Aenemys follows his vision and nods approvingly. "Concentrate on how he moves, how he sprints..." Aenemys furrows her brow, confused by this philosophical grasshopper stuff, but tries to play along and do as her friend says. "Yoinks!" the male sounds off, snatching Aenemys' prey from right in front of her and sprinting off with it. Aenemys' jaw drops completely, and she lets out a laugh that is a mixture of shock, amusement, mischief, and playfulness. "Oh my god, you butt-head!" she says, taking off and sprinting after him. She's pushing herself hard to catch up to him, and a feeling of elation comes to her chest. It felt good to be running to have some fun, not for some element of necessity. Legs opening wide in strides pushing her closer and closer to him, she makes a risky jump for it and ends up getting her paws on his hind end, tumbling to the ground and causing dust to rise. As fast as she can, she makes an attempt to grab her rabbit, ready to start a tug-of-war session with the young male. "You shall pay for this," she says playfully, mouth full of rabbit hair if she has successfully grabbed it. Nooné

Achak sighed softly. "Its not that I've given up, I just don't see a point in searching anymore." His ears fell softly, he stared at the ground. "I mean after so many years I can't even remember their faces, how would I know if I found them?" He mumbled mainly to himself. Achak glanced at Shale, tilting his head. "Does that make me bad? I mean just in general, I almost feel guilty." His face fell slightly and he sighed more. "If I thought they'd still be there I might try and go home, but I doubt it." He said softly.

This wolf - Xechasmenos - sure was a character. Kebechet was sure she was about to get whiplash from the rapidly changing moods, the brutish lupess whipping about and storming off before abruptly returning. Puffing out a breath, she narrows her gaze upon her - only to soften as an apology is offered, along with a genuine request for company. The fire of her temper sputters and dies out as soon as it’s cause is resolved, and the copper colored bitch lets her fur lie flat once more. She even conjures up a smile for the towering female, tail giving an encouraging wag. ”Now, that’s the spirit.” She utters, head cocking. Her ears perk up as Knox speaks (you wanna take a walk?)) and she bows her head in an enthusiastic nod before traipsing off alongside him.
Though the winter chill persisted, the sun shone bright and yellow, casting the icey flakes in a kaleidoscope of colors. Winter was beautiful, and she didn’t necessarily mind the cold - it just brought along with it memories of her first winter hunts, when every scrap of prey caught had been a blessing. When surrounded by earthy browns and greens, her pelt was no trouble - but red against white was stark and noticeable by wolves and food alike. This trip was about fun though, not work! She eyes Knox with a spark of mischief, jaw opening to suggest a game; only for her maw to snap closed with surprise as the coal coated male nips her ear. You’re it! he chimes before darting away, and she releases a hearty laugh before giving chase.
Running was freeing, and her small frame speeds over and up the hill like a wolf-shaped bullet, tail waving like a banner behind her. Knox was fast, though, dodging to the left just as her teeth were about to close around his tail. It certainly didn’t help that giggles spilled from her lips with every breath - great in the moment, but not exactly conducive to like, breathing. Finally though, she gains way, paw darting out to bat at a hind leg; and when that doesn’t work, she simply sprints alongside him and presses her cold nose into the fur of his neck. ”Gotcha!” she huffs out breathlessly.

Shale's eyes widened, a twinge of sympathy tugging at him. He couldn't even fathom how it might feel to lose even the memory of your family, to know that, for one reason or another, you were the one, the only one, to survive. What do I say? How am I supposed to respond to something like this?
"I don't think," he said slowly, "I don't think it makes you bad that you stopped searching. I mean, from what you just told me you have no way of even knowing if you did find them." His words were tumbling over themselves now, to the point where his thoughts could barely keep pace with what he was saying. "If you kept searching now, you'd just be wasting your life on something that's never going to happen. Your family wouldn't want that, they'd want you to move on and...and find a new path. They'd want you to be happy. I mean, unless they weren't a good family, in which case you're probably better off without them..."
He winced. That was...not helpful. His severe lack of eloquence was clearly revealing itself today.
"Sorry," he said quickly. "That, uh, came out wrong. Anyway, I think it's natural to feel guilty, but you don't really have anything to feel guilty for. You didn't do anything wrong by not getting taken; it's not like you could help that. You've done your best to find your family; now it's time to start a new life."
Finally, mercifully, he ran out of words. He really had no idea what the best way to respond to something like this was; he could only hope that his awkward rambling had helped Achak feel a bit better.

A scream that said "Oh my god, you butt-head!" could be heard from behind him, as Nooné sprinted forwards, towards nowhere in particular. As the race for the breakfast continued, the male could feel Aenemys getting closer and closer, her steps becoming noiser, making an uniform pattern as the white wolf ran, until he suddenly didn't hear it anymore. "Crap" said the Iberian under his breath, realizing what it meant, falling on the ground a second later. Up on his feet, face to face with his "rival", their prey separating the two. "You shall pay for this," stated Nemys, on a tone that Nooné hoped was playfully. The male copied the female, both of them managing to grab onto a portion of the rabbit's body, pulling from opposite sides. The tug-of-war encounter didn't last long, as the corpse of the small animal finally gave up, it's flesh beginning to tear apart. The brown male fell backwards as his part broke apart from the rest of the rabbit. He only had one leg of the little thing, while Aenemys had managed to keep the rest of it. Nooné chuckled, saying "Seems like we have a winner". Aenemys

Tenzin was left to his own devices once more, it seemed. He had spoken to the bigger wolf who had threatened him, but suddenly she had grown silent, and he was beginning to think she had walked off. Kebechet had been taken to another area as well, so he was with his own thoughts again. He contemplated meditating more, but a growl to his stomach ensured that he was finished for the time being. He sniffed the air, but couldn't find any fresh kill, so it seemed he would need to ask someone to go on a hunting trip for him real fast. But who should he ask? Astro, the unofficial leader? Or would he be too busy? Another one of the wolves? They sounded like they were all having fun and doing their own thing, and two more wolves had even joined their little mix-n-match group of rogues. He could smell blood suddenly; sniffing in that direction, he headed towards Noone and Aenemys, unable to tell the difference between a big kill and a small kill. He slowed down as he approached, not wanting to interrupt whatever fun they were having. "Pardon," he started, nodding his head towards them, "I'm pretty hungry, and I didn't know who to ask about getting something to eat. I just smelled the fresh kill and came this way. Do you think one of you could help me get some breakfast? Or point me to the right wolf who can?"Nooné Aenemys

Knox couldn't help but let his tongue hang out as they ran, his laughter coming easily through pants of air. He guessed if he wasn't laughing he could have out run the female, but instead a cold nose touched his neck and he let out a squeal of laughter. "Cold!" he yipped as he stopped to look at her playfully. Orange eyes bright as a large smile ripped across his maw.
"1...2...3..." He counted, her chance to run and as she bolted he quickly followed suit. They were coming to a particularly flat area where rocks were littered but also more snow had gathered. Once there was enough plush white substance underfoot he launched himself into flight and pounced on her, rolling in the cold padding. He couldn't stop laughing as he playfully got her ear in his mouth and gently tugged on it. "Gotcha," he playfully growled as he rolled onto his back to breath.

Achak listening to Shale calmly feeling for the smaller wolf as he tripped on his words. Now thinking about it, he probably should've sprung all that information on him. His ears twitched slightly as he spoke, he felt a pang of guilt seeing how nervous that Shale got.
"Its alright, I understand what you're trying to say." He took a slight pause smiling faintly. "Thank you, really." He hummed softly glancing to Shale. "So um what exactly is your goal? I mean I know you wanna join a pack and I could join you if you'd let me." Despite his better judgement, he asked him, the question may have been a bit forward but Achak was too curious for his own good.

Satisfyingly, Aenemys feels the sinews pulling tauter and tauter in the rabbit, eventually plucking and breaking like over-tightened guitar strings. Both Anemeys and Nooné fall back from the impact of the rabbit releasing towards both of the wolves. It seemed Aenemys had gotten the larger chunk, though she assumed that was out of luck, considering the male likely bested her in physical strength. "Lucky win," she says with a small chuckle at the male, a big smile on her face without her own realization. "I don't mind sharing, however," she says, the thought of her and a friend sharing a rabbit (an occurrence that had not happened in quite a while for the previously lone she-wolf) making her chest get that warm, squeezing feeling. Just as soon as the sentence leaves her mouth, Tenzin, another young wolf who had been hanging with the group, approaches. Aenemys, though barely knowing him, liked the male. Her impressions of him were a very laid-back, kind, and wise wolf, the kind of wolf you would want to be with when you were stressed or needed to just chillax or have a good friend there. "Pardon," the male enters. Aenemys keeps her gaze on him, though her time with him in the group has let her know he is blind. "I'm pretty hungry, and I didn't know who to ask about getting something to eat. I just smelled the fresh kill and came this way. Do you think one of you could help me get some breakfast? Or point me to the right wolf who can?" he asks. Aenemys smiles, glad that he had felt comfortable to ask the two of them. "Good morning, Tenzin," Aenemys says, and looks at Nooné as he responds. "Sure! Come with us man, let's hun..." Nooné replies but trails off, presumably a realization about the implications of what he said. "I'd love to go on another little rabbit chase," Aenemys says as she stands up and shakes her coat. @tenzin Nooné
