R A I S ARogue She listened to the words that he spoke, white ears attentive while her rose colored eyes glanced over his figure. As she caught herself staring a little too much, she moved her eyes over to Joy, knowing that the little one was not far off. Raisa gave her a small nod before turning back towards Rowan, hearing him inviting her along to view, as well as the young ones that would be gathering around her. Giving him a smile before she gave them all a gentle look, she knew that they would need to start working on their fighting skills if they were able to. She didn’t want them to become violent at a young age, but they needed to learn how to defend themselves rather quickly, especially if they were to start venturing off without supervision. “Come along little ones, let's go watch,” She said with a gentle tone.
Bringing herself to her feet and moving in the direction that Rowan had taken, she walked slowly, making sure that the pups would follow her before she started increasing her speed. As she came upon the clearing, it seemed that Rowan was already sparring with Hye-Su. Orders were being barked at the young black female from Rowan, and she couldn’t help but admire the muscles that rippled underneath his fur.
Shaking her head before she started again to look towards the new member of their little group, she shifted to sit down on her haunches, waiting for Mint and Joy to sit down alongside her, or even between her legs if that was the prerogative they would take. Giving a shuffle of her rose eyes to the rest of the members that were currently surrounding the area, she wondered what exactly they thought of the new she-wolf. She was young, definitely needed to improve on her skills, but other than that she would make a fine addition to their little group. “Make sure you two are paying close attention. You’ll have to learn how to fight like that to defend yourselves one day,” She whispered, giving each pup an affectionate lick upon the head.

Soft hues graced over her mates shoulder many a time, curious as to what he was thinking, feeling, or perhaps where he intended on going. The billow of smoke was far behind them now, more like a distant storm full of dark and furious cumulonimbus clouds. It ruffled her fur thinking of the poor animals that had already lost their lives due to lack of response or whatnot. That was mounds of precious prey to be lost, or much more other animal families like herself and Logan.. never to be. The scarlet lupine drew in a quick breath, shooing away her annoying and bothersome thoughts. What mattered the most is that they had fled in time, and their family would live for another day more.
On the contrary, Lilac couldn't help but worry over these barren lands. No, not barren of plants or animals, but barren of flourishing life that they needed as shelter. For miles, the couple were surrounded by deathly scenery. As autumn had approached, the flora had died even more, parishing to crisp leaves that crumbled under paw and tall whips of grass that clawed and scraped at anything that walked by. What's more, this terrain was prime breeding grounds for the fire to take over. They wouldn't be able to stay here for more than a month. On the bright side, the she-wolf held high hopes that, while they may not have been the only wolves fleeing here, perhaps they would be provided enough prey to live off of for now. Speaking of which, it was becoming difficult to ignore the growing pains in her round belly. The familiar ache of hunger beckoned for her to stop and hunt, but she continued on. Though pregnant, Lilac couldn't bare stopping for another break or for food. She wanted to at least find a temporary home first. Lilac upped her pace, finding her familiar spot brushing up against Logan's flank. Meanwhile, she internally battled the dizziness that whizzed through her head. She had gone hungry for too long, and her ferocious puppies twisted frantically in discomfort. Yes, she reminded herself that she was feeding far more than just herself now, thus why she drained so quickly. Alas, she would wait just a little longer. Surely they were almost to their unknown destination.
Without warning, her mate suddenly turned to her, gracing his cranium along her flush cheek. Lilac savored his touch, longing for more than that. With deep breath, their journey only continued, hardly a break for air. "Kendrix?" came Logan's familiar bellow, catching her attention immediately. Huh? Turning her head behind her curiously, the beauty pondered over if someone was following them that her mate had just spoken to. Her eyes slowly drew back to him, but his remained on her. "I-if there's a boy... I like the name Kendrix." he continued, clearing her confusion. Ohh, no duh. Lilac paused in her tracks, bright orbs drifting upward as she felt the sound on her tongue of 'Kendrix'. It didn't roll off very easily, but what mattered was if she could imagine calling her fluffy son over by that name. Lilac smiled toward her mate. "Well, if there is a boy in there," the lupine gestured with her soft eyes toward her hungry stomach, "Kendrix and his siblings are really hungry." Lilac apologetically looked towards her partner, a shy smile forming at her lips.

Seymour looked towards Cersiren as she didn’t object to the idea of them both hunting. He knew that maybe she was slightly uncomfortable with it, but Seymour was patient and would help her figure out hunting. It was a process, although easy for him now, he had to struggle to learn at one point in time too, so he empathized with the female. Looking to her with white eyes that could pierce through souls, he gave her a small, comforting smile as she started to scent for something to catch. As she turned and walked slowly towards where he believed she had scented a rabbit, he followed behind her, keeping a close eye on her. He wanted to help her after all.
He crouched down once the rabbit was in sight, and watched her as she did the same, almost. Her rear end was high on the air and lopsided, which would definitely give her away considering her white fur. Her chest was on the ground, so it almost seemed like she was getting into the position that pups would to play. He was already coming up with ways to teach her better, but his consistent staring would probably be taken as him judging her in a negative way. So as she said that she had a feeling the way she was placed was not correct, he approached her side, knowing that anything around them would be scared off by now since they were talking.
“With a hunting crouch, you’re going to want to have your rear positioned in line with your shoulders, so it should be low to the ground,” He brought his paw to her back near her rear, pushing it down until it was level with her shoulders. “Your legs are also placed a little too far apart, you’ll want them to be close to your chest, which should be lifted slightly above the ground,” He said, bringing his paw to lift her upwards a little. Pushing at her paws, he would position them correctly with little nudges.
“And you’ll want to keep your tail above the ground, so that it doesn’t drag. Keep yourself focused on your target, and slowly move forward,” He whispered into her ear, looking in front of them. “Pretend there’s a rabbit about five feet away from you, concentrate on that point,” He said, looking towards her. “Stalk forward a couple steps while keeping this position,” He told her gently, wanting her to get used to the rather uncomfortable state it was at first.

The motherly she-wolf Wingnut had hoped would come to her aid seemed to be more caught up or interested in her Alpha's spar with the newest member of their group. The logical she-wolf figured that it was suitable, teaching the young wolves what to do and not to do, narrating the spar to provide understanding. Instead, it seemed a much different wolf had made his presence known. The familiar and almost comforting scent of her brother wafted through her nostrils before his familiar mud dipped cinnamon frame made his way to stand alongside her. A simple colloquialism was thrown the stranger's way before expected eyes landed on her dull ones. "She had not yet given me her name. She seems frightened and timid, almost too afraid to focus," Wingnut murmured into her brother's ear, watching as the stranger shrunk more with the presence of another wolf, "I do not possess the emotional and gentle side that she needs to calm down." As Wingnut's robotic voice cut off, the stranger's shivering tones emerged again, "I am sorry...sorry for bothering you all...is just that I didn't want to stay alone any longer, right now I don't know anything but I want to learn and be strong...I want to stop being a coward, a coward that couldn't save her family...I want to be stronger, I want to defeat my own demons...please help me, ill do everything but please don't abandon me like others did..." For the first time in her life, Wingnut almost had to repress a sigh. In any other circumstance, she would have stepped forwards to make her point, but it seemed that this she-wolf needed space. "You are not facing any rejection here. I am willing to bring you to our group's leader, if you would just tell us your name and calm down slightly." Wingnut made an uncomfortable effort to try and soften her voice, predicting that it would not turn out nearly as soft as Raisa's could have been, but serving it's purpose well enough. Amber eyes looked expectantly at the she-wolf, hoping that maybe, finally, she would introduce herself and relax enough to walk the short distance back to the commons and wait for Rowan and Hye-Su to be done sparring. @karini Guardian Raisa @twizzle

As the older wolf spoke to her, she shyly nodded. She agreed with her of getting calm because she could find herself sick thanks to the stress. "Oh...My name is Karini, nice to meet you..." Her voice was soft but still with hints of fear as she tried hard to don't feel more scared, she wanted to start with her change now so her trust in herself can grow as what she wanted to do from the start. She hopped joining this group could help her with that, she was going to work hard to get her goal but as everything, the path wasn't going to be easy.
After some minutes her nerves started to slowly calm down. She felt as her heart beats slower and it seemed she was finally starting to calm down. A soft wind started to move her brownie pelt. Like fingers, the wind touched the young wolf helping to relax her even more.

R A I S ARogue Raisa watched as Rowan seemingly had the advantage over Hye-Su. The female was definitely not too skilled in fighting from what it seemed, and Raisa's ears perked at the thought of maybe interrupting and having a playful little spar with Rowan. The male seemed to be enjoying himself quite a bit with sparring, and it would be a shame for him to ruin his fun by having to teach someone who would better learn from watching. Stepping forward, she gave a smile to the small pups that she cared for, knowing all too well that they might follow her. "Stay here little ones, and watch carefully," She said, giving rose colored eyes a chance to glance at each one before she turned gracefully on her heel. Moving forward, she brushed past Hye-Su, looking towards Rowan with a small, albeit, cheeky smile. "It'd be best if we gave her something to watch and learn from, no?" Her voice was sweet and serene, but she held her playful nature as she started towards the male, not giving him a chance to answer.
Darting forward, the she-wolf would make her move rather quickly while Rowan was not expecting it. Taking a nip at his muzzle, she would dart to the side, reacting rather well. Raisa was not one for combat usually, but she knew very well how to defend herself. Although she appeared to be a petite, helpless she-wolf that mostly got by with her looks, she most definitely had many battles under her belt. She was as experienced as any warrior there, and it was definitely something she would make known about her. Especially now when the youngest of the pack would be learning. They could adapt to a gentle fighting style that protected them, but did not necessarily have the aggression that most possessed while fighting. As her white paws brought her back and forth from Rowan to just out of his reach, she nipped at his face and legs, hopefully making him take a step back. Her nips would be gentle, but just a small pinch of pain to cause anyone to move away from them. Looking to Rowan with rose-colored optics, she would wait for him to make a move, wanting him to give her a little bit of a challenge.

"With a hunting crouch, you're going to want to have your rear positioned in line with your shoulders, so it should be low to the ground," Her ear twitched and her breath caught sslightly as she felt his paw pushing down slightly on her rump, and she let her bottom lower to the ground. It felt a little weird, but it also felt better and a bit less painful than the former "tail saying hi to the sky" pose. "Your legs are also placed a little too far apart, you'll want them to be close to your chest, which should be lifted slightly above the ground." He made a couple more slight adjustments, and Cersiren cooperated, wondering why contact was making her so jumpy. Was it her lack of physical interaction with other wolves these past few months, or her being nervous? It couldn't be the fact that she didn't know Seymour very well, she worked on plenty of strangers when she was the salutary, though Seymour didn't know that. Well, neither of them really knew anything about each other.
"And you'll want to keep your tail above the ground, so that it doesn't drag. Keep yourself focused on your target, and slowly move forward," Seymour says, his whisper tickling the fur in her ear and making her shake her thoughts away. She needed to focus on the task at hand. "Pretend there's a rabbit about five feet away from you, concentrate on that point. Stalk forward a couple steps while keeping the position," he says, his voice reminding her of how she would speak to pups when she was tending to their wounds.
She took a deep breath, reminding herself that this was to help her. Keeping his corrections in mind, she envisioned the rabbit, and took a couple steps forward, keeping her butt low, her legs together, and not letting her tail drag. While those steps weren't confident and perhaps were a bit shaky, she managed to keep her form much better than it had before. Realizing she was holding her breath, she let out a breath and turned her head slightly to look at Seymour, wondering what she should do next and if she was doing this okay.

After much time, it seemed that her words has sunk through to the she-wolf before her. The tense, almost shivering clump of nerves before her slowly calmed down, taking a few deep breaths. "Oh...My name is Karini, nice to meet you..." the smokey female revealed her identity at last. Wingnut gave her a nod in response. It had taken a series of unnecessary exchanges to get to this point, but at least this Karini had calmed down enough to finally listen. "My name is Wingnut. Please follow me and I will take you to Rowan. Please be aware that there is a spar currently going on, and do not panic. Everything is under control," after the she-wolf's breakthrough, her voice returned to it's robotic flat tone, blandly stating the events about to occur as she turned away for Karini. Wingnut's ink dipped tail swatted her brother's side lightly as she brushed past him on the short journey back to Rowan. As she approached the clearing that the group had temporarily claimed, she immediately noted the changes in circumstance. It seemed that the black yearling, Hye-Su, was not the one sparring with Rowan, as was the situation when she had departed from the group. Instead, it seemed that Raisa had stepped into her place, now sparring with the oaken male. That offered a logical reason as to why she had not come to her aid when the cinnamon she-wolf had called for her earlier. Wingnut was conscious of both the spar and the now unattended pups. Unless Dusty had stepped in to supervise the pups, Wingnut was not going to bring Karini near them. After all, she was still considered a stranger. Instead, Wingnut lead Karini around to the opposite side of the spar, furthest from the pups but easily within Rowan's view for when he decided that the spar was over and needed to address the female. Deciding what to do with Karini was a pressing matter, so Wingnut, logically, desired for the spar to be over quickly. Alpha Rowan @karini Guardian Raisa @twizzle @therestofthispack

Mere seconds, moments elapsed between him catching his breath and ensuring his ebony charge had, indeed, remained in one consecutive piece before another challenger arouse to individually test his skill. It came innocently enough; a simple, innocuous suggestion to accompany his advice with added visuals, and from potentially the most docile mild mannered guardian in existence. And she was slender to boot; a small, throwable she-wolf that could have never posed a plausible threat even if she desired to so. So, what idiotic underlying motive could he ever have conjured? Her small, cheeky smile ignited suspicions, and rightfully so. He was all too familiar with the way in which she-wolves flirted. Coquettish and clever, the conniving, brilliant conductors of whatever schemes they managed to mold for their fickle pleasure. He’d seen the scenario hundreds of times in his birth pack; a slick tongued she-wolf would ask to ‘spar’ with her wolf of interest, the male would spring to his paws, puffed with pride, lead her to the brush – and then, well – very little training would take place. However, perhaps his cynicism was misguided. After all, Raisa was a sensible, knowing she-wolf, quite worthy of receiving his full benefit of the doubt, at least for her first move. Six glorious seconds later, all bearings of ‘benefit of the doubt’ evaporated. She provided seconds, heartbeats for him to process her request before delivering a deft starting nip to his muzzle. Teasingly, she danced in out and of the fray before he could even catch an idea of where she would have landed, delivering a series of sharp nips before he could fully catch his bearings. For a moment, he pondered: Was this flirting? While she did seem to find a wonderful amusement in his baffled expression; why, no, it couldn’t be. At least, he never remembered flirting looking quite like this – and then all of a sudden, he recalled the time he saw a she-wolf sprain the leg of her mate with a particularly overly eager blow – and decided perhaps he didn’t have the greatest frame of reference for the subject. What did it matter? A small, playful smile found greying features. Flirting or not, he was having a marvelous time; and Raisa, from the looks of it, could say the same. Now, there was a proper dancer! Even with prior experience, he made a mistake of lunging without considering the consequences first more than he would ever want to admit, each time earning him a playful, sharp pinch and a lilted, cheeky laugh. The latter he enjoyed. The former, he found he’d quite like to leave behind. And thus came the predicament. Distractions were key when it came to ‘dancers’; something clever, subtle, easily slipped unawares. “Well, you see Hye-Su,” Rowan teased, his voice holding a hint of mischief. “With a wolf like yourself, you’ll have to think outside the box. You can’t just lunge,” he quipped, giving a false jump forwards, hopefully startling her into springing to the side. If she did so, he’d seize the sliver of opportunity, barreling into her ivory build before she could secure her stance. A teasing, mock growl suddenly grew in an ivory throat as he wrestled her to the ground, promptly delivering a series of short, toothless nips alongside her alabaster, taking care to ensure he used a minimal amount of tooth. “You've got to get creative.” Suddenly, two sable figures caught the corner of his eye, one significantly more irritated than the other. Of course, he couldn’t forget business! They needed to decide what to do with their latest arrival. Quietly, he untangled himself from his sparring partner; a small, welcoming smile filling sorrel features as he realized he’d been mistake about the ashen she-wolf. Not a grown adult at all, but rather; a child, a yearling at the absolute best. “Well Karini,” he quipped. “We reached the point in our acquaintance where it seems we must decide what to do with you.” A low playful laugh passed through parted jaws. “And I’m pleased to say it’s the simplest decision I’ve made in years. Welcome to the Brush Lands pack. The rest of you,” he addressed, his tone holding a happy idleness. “Take the day off. Spend it relaxing, resting at your leisure. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”

T W E E
"As if you were on fire from within, the moon lives in the lining of your skin."
Briskly, thin paws, dusted with gold whisked through the dense vegetated area. Weaving from either side, meticulously developed muscles curling beneath a flame licked pelt, the exposed skin hardened against the elements. Upon sun-cooked features, a giddy grin plastered upon crooked features, a stream of giggles slipping from the bitch’s maw. Mismatched hues blurred with amusement, blissfully unaware of the territory she’d stumbled over. Twee jerked her paws upward, propelling off her hind legs for a final, poised leap. From afar, it may seem as if the dame had caught a vole, perhaps even a mouse. In reality, streamlined limbs captured something far different, something imaginative.
Grinning, the schizophrenic stared with a bemused expression as, with feigned laughter, the pup she’d previously captured disappeared before her own deranged eyes. How annoying. Huffing in mild annoyance, the beauty twisted her cranium smiled at the inken dame who trotting not far behind her. Softly, twee pressure her muzzle to the older raven’s shoulder, expression softening as her mentor sighed. “I suppose this means you’re leaving?” Twee murmured, fully knowing the unavoidable answer. “Take care of 7.” Backing up, the form of her friend was gone, as soon as she’d arrive. “Bye, 24..” Frowning slightly, Twee would trudge along alone, eyes flicking nervously, preoccupied with identifying where she’d stumbled. Perhaps she should have taken more caution as she ran alongside 7, but what did it matter? It wasn’t as if she would’ve noticed the thick scent either way. Though, one thing she did notice, now, was the russet form she’d been practically wandering in circles around. Hesitating, Twee plastered a stage worthy grin on her face and strode up to the male.
“Hello~!” The small female cocked her head, straining to look up to the giant, squinting against the sun. “What’s this?” Shamrock hues of neon and pastel moved to the side, looking over the other wolves. Flicking golden auricles, Twee trembled momentarily as her fate laid across her, gently draped across two shoulders. The noticeably pregnant female stepped back, squirming nervously, posture drooping. “Oh-, Dear, Ehm..” An apprehensively guilty smile danced atop anxious features, emerald gazing at the tall stranger’s russet paws. “I’m s-so sorry, er, what your na-”
Not important, dumbass.
Intensely, her eyes shot up, now affixed with an unseen before terror. “Er, nevermind.” Don’t waste time, sweetheart. They’ll chew you up before I even get the chance.. Harshly, a small whine melted from a slightly ajar maw, mismatched hues warbling, tears hinting their at glistening arrival. “Please, please stop…” The hoarse croak aimed to the ground as her head hung, the entirety of her small form shaking, consumed with irrational fear. It was behind her, looming over her shoulder. A beast the others would never see, one that would haunt Twee for the duration of her cursed life. “I thought you left..” Choking on her words, the Rogue felt her thin knees buckle slightly, thus shoving herself forward to awkwardly catch herself on jumbled paws. “I thought you were done.”
Now, looking desperately behind her, the female lost any sense of her situation besides the figure, who with each second sauntered closer, yellowed teeth exposed behind blindingly onyx lips. Backing up rapidly, the contact against the male she’d approached previously bringing a small yelp from the hallucinating victim, incoherent sobs crackling from the bitch. Looking desperately to the bigger male, then to the form he’s unable to see, each muscle in Twee’s body buckled, sending her to the ground, increasingly frightened pleas silencing as her captor drew closer, her body coiling into a tight ball, shivering as it did so. Perhaps the situation was confusing to the pack wolves, maybe even alarming. But at this point, the Rogue quickly forgot any embarrassment that may accompany her panic, tucking a thickly plumed tail over her torso, protecting the young that laid so still within, she awaited whatever inevitable pain 13 would bring.

Time Skip: 3 MonthsThe past three months had come and gone at a rapid pace, with many events littered through them. Both yearlings that had joined were progressing well, especially Karini. The unreasonable amount of fear and anxiousness she had possessed on her first day had melted away, making her a well-functioning member of the pack. Two new pups had stumbled into their territory and had instantly been taken in by Rowan. Her Alpha seemed to have a habit of refusing no one, especially not pups. The collection of pups now numbered five, and many of them were in the awkward teenage phase of rebellion, growing, and seemingly entertaining themselves by annoying others. Of the quintet, Wingnut had not chosen a favorite, but a most tolerable member. Niqo, the pup she had Dusty had escorted back just before Karini had appeared, was mature enough three months ago and had seemingly maintained his manners as he had grown. A foreign scent mixed with the faint scent of milk drifted towards the common grounds that they had established. In an instant, Wingnut rose to her paws. Previously, she had been resting outside of her den, simply observing the comings and goings of the other wolves in the pack. However, it seemed that someone blatantly ignored the scent markers laid out often by herself, Rowan, and Raisa. Judging by the scent, it was either a stray pup, or perhaps a pregnant she-wolf. The possibility that a rumor had spread of Rowan's generosity of pups may have spread was not impossible in the constantly analytical she-wolf's mind. However, this was no orphanage. It some point, Rowan would have to cut someone off. Heading towards the scent, Wingnut stood back as a heavily pregnant she-wolf, looking in a state of daydream or daze, lumbered into camp. She was incredibly small for a wolf that smelled purebred. The cinnamon she-wolf remained silent as this stranger approached Rowan, but her tail and ears rose into a semi-dominant posture. A howl at the borders would have been preferred, and frankly much more respectful, but she was here now. Wingnut was not about to waste energy and time bringing her back to the borders to have the same conversation that the she-wolf and Rowan were bound to hold here. "Hello!~" her voice called out, "What's this?" Her question put up a red flag with Wingnut. Most wolves that trespassed on pack lands were fully conscious of their actions, or at least realized before they came to the heart of the territory and face to face with the Alpha. As she stuttered and stammered, Wingnut kept a close eye on her body language. At first, she had seemed confused, now she seemed submissive, likely computing her whereabouts. Within seconds, there was another drastic switch. This wasn't just polite submission. Her knees weakened, her ears were hewn back. This was fear. The last fearful stranger she had had to deal with was Karini, so she did not have a good point of reference on how to deal with this emotion, but moving closer to catch any words or scents that could hint at what she was afraid of could be beneficial. "Please, please stop... I thought you left," the she-wolf croaked out, sending Wingnut into high alert. She scented the air while diligently scanning the direction in which the she-wolf came, looking for signs of this 'someone' that the she-wolf spoke of. However, the only foreign scent was her own. No other rogues had come close to the common grounds recently. Taking no chances, Wingnut made momentary eye contact with Rowan before moving about 5 meters behind the she-wolf, facing the direction that she came. The stranger may not be a part of the pack, but Wingnut knew that she was almost certainly going to be accepted in by her chestnut Alpha. She also knew within a small margin of doubt that he would not want a rogue attacking the common grounds while there were not only pups, but also a pregnant she-wolf. Until she received some command or sign that she could stand down, Wingnut would remain guarding the she-wolf with her tail raised and her ears and nose scanning the world around her. After these three months, she has been with the pack she has been getting stronger in personal matters as the fear she had when she first arrived has been vanishing slowly allowing her to stay calm and make her stage in the pack very productive. She found this new land they are now very awesome and with open opportunities. That day, Karini walked slowly through the place with her golden eyes sticking on the front. That day she wanted to explore a bit as she was still new to the territory. As she walked she spotted a nut and it gave her some curiosity, as she was still a teenager she had a lot to learn about her world and since she was a trainee for hunter she was new to the subject but who could teach her? she didn't know yet but wanted to start soon. Returning to the present, Karini using one of her front paws touches the nut but with some caution as she didn't know if it was dangerous. Obviously, it wasn't but for her, it was a new object to try.

-Time Skip-
The brown pup was slowly advancing through his youth with grace, maintaining his ever-polite persona and friendly disposition. Certainly, life had grown more comfortable for him here, and there were many others his age for him to interact with, ensuring he was never alone. However, this never seemed to be a problem for the pecan male, as the combination of manners, good humor, and laid-back attitude served him well in the means of social life. Niqo had settled in, with Rowan being sort of like the 'nanny' of the young ones. From the very moment Wingnut and Dusty had been the ones to first bring him into the rogue group, he had liked them quite a lot as well. Of course, Mint was, well, very friendly and bubbly. Niqo was finding that he enjoyed life here a lot, and though he was still very young, as he aged he wondered when training may start for him.
The day had been stretching on rather uneventfully, with that kind of calmness in the air that could easily turn to boring, stale, vapid, too still. Just as Niqo had been anticipating a long, empty day in which he would futz away, the air began to stir a bit with activity. A rogue had come into the lands, and as usual, Wingnut was quick to hop to it. He admired that pack and task-devotion Wingnut had, how good she was at what she did. Upon taking a quick sniff, he recognized the faint hint of pregnancy, something he had not smelled for quite a while now.
Interest piqued, the hickory pup turned his head and rotated his ears towards where the scent came from, swirling ocean eyes following the familiar brown female as she wended her way to the female who wandered into the territory. Niqo imagined that this would not be welcomed by some wolves. Not only had the pack been growing rather rapidly, what with Niqo and two other pups joining the group, but if this female intended to stay, then birth and more pups were inevitable. The pups certainly outnumbered the adults, and Niqo himself felt bad for 'adding' to that ratio, which made him all the more intensely committed to making himself useful.

As she roused from a light slumber, she became aware of the coolness of the air and its loamy fragrance, beneath her a lumpy bed of earth. Her fur was damp like a flower, moistened by the dew of dawn. She half wondered if she was still dreaming as she sat up to take in the shafts of light that were bursting through the leaf canopy above. Now she was awake, perhaps more awake than she'd ever been. As far as she could tell, she was alone with the birds who sung around her, and in that sweet melody she felt for the first time a blissful loneliness, like she was right where she belonged. No fostering caregivers, no yearlings yapping around the peaceful terrain. For a moment, Joy was the sole keeper of this lonesome domain, and she couldn't recall a time that she'd felt more alive. Alas, her senses had awoken, and she soon felt the pulsing love of Raisa's body calling to her. Joy had been like a moth to Raisa's belly since she'd learned of the news. Life was so intriguing to Joy. Over the past three months, she had begun to feel a new spirit warmly enveloping her like a mother to her newborn, ushering her towards enlightenment. She could see auras that were invisible before, lights that were once dim, and ideas that were once foreign or forbidden from her adolescent mind. Since then, playing with the other pups had become a chore, something she only felt was a duty to uphold to entertain them. She'd become more comfortable with those around her, yet she'd become a recluse. Silence had become her friend, and all she wanted was a simple, quiet version of love. She wondered if she was growing up, perhaps, too quickly. She removed her temple from Raisa's stomach so her ears could be adjacent to the commotion. An unfamiliar, tragic voice spilled over the territory with no grace at all. Curiosity beckoned her away from Raisa and towards the rogue. The closer she got to the scene, the more dense that unsteady current of dread became. There was something wrong with that rogue, and it terrified Joy. If there was one thing that was most unsettling to the young beauty, it was a crack in a surface; something that didn't belong, something that ruptured the earth and had the potential to destroy. It was almost always another wolf that fit the description, and today it was this odd little rogue. Joy began to feel a darkness in her heart that ate away at her compassion, for her fear of the unknown had consumed all forms of it. She quickly retreated behind Raisa to feel the protection of her, beta Wingnut, and mighty Rowan. Alpha Rowan @twee Guardian Raisa @niqo @dusty @karini @mint

Simon emerges from the makeshift den he shares with his brother, lip curling up into a reflexive sneer as the sudden light forces his eyes to adjust. With nary a care for the state of his pelt, the growing adolescent plops down in a corner of the pack’s little encampment, wordless grumbles leaving his lips. The pup was often the first to wake, and he hated it - well, maybe not so much. On one hand, he could enjoy the calm and quiet before the rest of the group awoke, but on the other, sleep. It wasn’t that he wanted to wake up early so much as that he still wasn’t used to his surroundings, even two months after he and his brother were taken in. At least today, it looked like most everyone was already out and about. He was used to milk-scent and the familiar smell of his mother and brother. All these other wolves just confused his nose, and he often spent nights tossing and turning. Teeth bared just the slightest amount, he drops his head onto his paws. Sure, he was grateful to Rowan and his fellows; he and Azrath would have surely burned to death without their timely rescue. Even now the slightest hint of smoke sent him into a cold panic, but even so, he wishes that they would let him leave, even just for a day. He would come back! After all, he would never abandon his sibling. But… they had never found his mother’s body, alive or otherwise, and the idea of her searching those charred woods for two missing sons sends him into a trembling rage. He was young, but he wasn’t dumb, and he knew that these wolves all thought his mother was dead, even if some of them didn’t say it to his face. But surely, unless they found a body, there was still hope? A honeyed gaze drifts shut in the hopes of catching a few more winks of sleep but, unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Ears jerk to attention mere moments before his nose catches whiff of a new lupess, feeble voice reaching his ears. Heaving himself to his paws, he walks over stiffly, head poking out from behind the form of Wingnut. Upon seeing the prone, sobbing form, he bares his teeth in a cruel show of disgust, hackles bristling. The wolf was obviously pregnant, and he’d recognize the scent of developing milk anywhere - it was still fresh in his mind. “How the fuck are you gonna be a mom if you act like such a baby yourself?” The midnight pup pipes up without thinking, liking the feel of the unfamiliar curse word on his lips. Why did people make such a big deal about profanity? It was like flavoring for the tongue.
