We have seen this throughout the years on TPR, and have gotten sick of it. This is a completely IN CHARACTER issue (you guys are great OOC) and is especially an issue with new or young role-players, or role-players that are fans of the unrealistic RPGs.
Some role-players like to make their characters seem better than everyone else's. This can be by making them have a more rare or unrealistic appearance, have them be extremely huge (even by going one inch above our max, that shows us that you are simply trying to be better than everyone else), have them be a master at everything like being successful on all hunts, have them have unrealistic abilities like doing backflips or running at a speed that does not match their body weight and size, and (my absolute favorite), making the story want to revolve completely around them.
Let me just say, all of these things are completely unacceptable. It causes arguments and fights more than you know, and it causes us staff members to have to say things to other members that we don't like to say. It puts us in a bad position because we preach kindness here at TPR, but when are strings are pulled to tight after we have given warnings, we really are forced to be more strict and serious and we may seem rude.
These things are really only seen in our newer members since our members that have been with us a longer amount of time simply know how we work. But I am telling every single one of you right now:
We are all equals. Even I am as equal as you. I do not make my characters have unrealistic talents or make them excessively large. None of the staff abuse their power by trying to make their characters better than anyone else's, ever. We know the rules and we follow them no matter our site wide titles. So, for members to try to do that is out of the question.
I love you all very much, you're great people. We trust you, as we always have. We're just warning you, do not loose that trust. I expect members to be on their best behavior and to stop trying to be above everyone else. Even if what they're doing bad is in character, there is still a person behind that screen. You all need to realize that we are all human beings here, and just like we are behind our computers, we are equal. We are fair. You guys are the people that represent TPR and all that we are, please set a good example.
