//greedily rubs hands all over// I honestly felt like my applying for this precious pup was a bit much, but then I realized that I'm only roleplaying with
one of your arsenal right now so it really isn't. Also, my conscience has never stopped my roleplaying habits before, so, here we go.
I'm going to tag the rest of his family too, since although I've read a few of your guys' posts, I'd love any feedback you might have on how he reacts to your characters, etc
.
Scout Azrath @valentino @athena
||Characters|| @kebechet and @vivaldi
||Personality|| Simon is the dark to his brother's light; where Azrath is sweet and kind, Simon is blunt and tactless, with a tongue like a battering ram, dealing out harsh words without any regard for the recipient's feelings. It is this lack of tact that often gets him into sticky situations - his mouth doesn't discriminate, and though he is loathe to admit it, he will often feel guilty if a family member's feelings are hurt. He despises the limitations that come with being so young, and will often try to coax his brother
that much further from the den for an "adventure" (often because, when he's caught, he doesn't want to be the only one scolded). He craves the independence that can only come with age, and at times will see receiving help as a weakness. Though right now his daring nature mostly serves as a pain for his mother, once he is older it will make him an invaluable hunting partner and fighter; he will be willing to take risks most other wolves would shy away from, which in turn will open up more opportunities for him. Harsh though he may be, he is fiercely loyal to those he considers family, and is always quick to jump to their defense against attacks both verbal and physical. All in all, as a pup Simon is reckless and rebellious, with a mouth that can't be curbed - but when it matters, his heart is in the right place.
||Roleplay Sample|| Pale morning light streams through the opening of a makeshift den, hitting Simon directly in the eyes. He felt blinded even though his eyes were shut, and shifts blindly over to the side until he was engulfed in shade once more. In doing so, he realizes that his mother was no longer wrapped around he and his brother. The pup briefly feels a pang of worry, one that he shoves down mercilessly - she always left around this time, and usually came back with some sort of meat-food. Blinking open his eyes, he squints over at the resting form of his brother, still sleeping peacefully. At least, somewhat peacefully; he can see small shivers wracking the pearly hued pup's form, likely caused by their mother's exit. With a put-upon huff, Simon heaves himself up and shuffles closer, only to plop back down once he's near enough that the two brothers are touching. If asked about it, Simon could always just say that Azrath scooted closer to
him, not the other way around. Resting his head on tiny paws, he glares daggers at a fallen leaf.
He hated waking up this early; it was always so
boring. It would be a little better if Azrath were awake, because then he could antagonize his gentler half into an argument, or maybe even a little scuffle (it was always fun to see his bro riled up, since he was always so
calm and
good), but since his brother continued to stay stubbornly asleep all that was left to do was think and think and
think. He thought some about his mother, who made him feel so confused all the time. His chest gets awful warm when he thinks about her, but it changes all the time. Sometimes it's a good warm, like when she feeds him or plays with him or tells him that he'll grow to be big one day too. Sometimes it's a bad warm, a shame-warm, like when she scolds him, or when she looks at him with frustration and then Azrath with pride and all he wants to do is
whine and
cry and
bite something, all at the same time...
Yeah, thinking about Ma makes him warm.
He also thinks about that big wolf that Mother insists on keeping around. Valentines or Vol or something like that; it didn't matter to the pup. All he knows is that even though he has no idea who he even is to them, he just
won't leave. And he's always touching Mother too! Like licking her ears or wrapping himself around her. Sometimes, he even brings her meat-food! Mother licks
their ears and wraps around
them and brings
them food, yes, but that's because they're pups! So why does this male keep trying to treat her like she treats he and Azrath? Did he
want to be Mom's Dad, because that's just
weird. Ugh, thinking about it just confuses him more. Being confused makes him mad, so clearly the Big Wolf should make him mad too. Wrinkling his nose, the obsidian hued pup shakes his head as though to manually clear such thoughts from his mind.
It would be much better to think about Azrath. Azrath only made him mad sometimes, instead of all the time.
He has a lotta mixed feelings about his brother. Sometimes he feels that good-warm feeling that he gets for mom, and he'll have fun playing and exploring with his sibling. But other times, the white pup will go on and on about how they're
not supposed to do something, or how something is
against the rules. He could be such a spoilsport! No one can be
that genuine about always being good; Simon is half-convinced that Azrath is just trying to look good for Mom and show him up. It makes him mad! He deserves Mom's pride just as much as his brother, but sitting still and behaving is so
hard and he doesn't see why he should have to change just because it's "the right thing to do!" He buries his face in his paws. He felt so confused all the time. He loved - there was the word - loved his family. He loved them but he always got mad at them and sometimes they made him sad, or feel ashamed of himself and everything was just so...so...confusing! Everything is confusing! He hopes he understands it better when he's older.
Simon jerks his head back up when a familiar scent fills his nose. Mother! Mother was returning! And the Valentines wolf too, he guesses. Less important, but there was a silver lining to everything! Jumping to his paws, he begins to rush forward, accidentally kicking a few dead leaves onto his brother in his haste. Then he remembers that he's a big boy who shouldn't be rushing to mommy's side every chance he gets - that was Azrath's thing - and decides instead to sit and stare at the entrance. When his mother and Vol appear, he has only one thing to say:
"You took forever!"
So, a little bit of insight on what Simon thinks of his family. Obviously some of the things he thinks aren't 100% accurate, but children and their assumptions amiright? I hope this application was adequate
