A fairly small forest of large pines on somewhat muddy grounds. Many fallen, rotten logs around and lots of bushes. Not much grass due to the many pine needles on the ground, but this place is plentiful in squirrels, raccoons, opossums, and hogs. But be careful: Black bears also like to roam around to pick under rotten trees!

The silver male seemed to zone out for a bit, but when he tuned back in, there were some new affairs in order. Two she-wolves had come along with a fawn, offering it as a gift. They were both quite pretty, but beside the uniqueness and absolute radiance of Peri, they just couldn't hold up. Peri had let them eat with them, and put the snappy female who seemed to have very little control over her emotions on a trial within the rogue group. Lucifer had taken it upon himself to sit on the deer, but remove his butt after Peri split the wolves into groups to go and eat. Peri and Theo's comments on how Lucifer didn't seem to talk much flitted around in his ears as he dug her teeth into the shoulder of the doe. It had been a while since his past meal, so tearing into the deer was a greatly pleasurable experience. It was made even better by the fact that he got to eat it shoulder to shoulder with Peri. It was most definitely a bonding moment, not dampened by the fact that there were other wolves around.
His delightful meal was interrupted by the sounds of pawsteps approaching. Sighing, he turned his bloodstained muzzle around, spotting the newcomers. There was a dark male, a lighter, fluffier female, and a young pup. At the male's question, Chasen shook his head. Of course, it was only meaning towards himself. Callie, Iris, Hirsch, Chet, Ren, or even Issoka could have been dragging a pup behind them that they didn't want to mention. He didn't think that it would be Peri. He had been travelling with her for a decent amount of time, and with no scent of the pup on her, and no sign of it before, he could safely assume that it wasn't hers. Not to mention that she had seemed repulsed and afraid of him at first, and that the pup looked to be a full wolf. "Sorry, but she's not mine," the silver male barked out, giving the pair a friendly flick of his tail before he stole another bite from the carcass. Perhaps the two newcomers were a couple? That would soothe Chasen's mind a little. The darker male, even he had to admit, was handsome. He didn't want to lose Peri after so recently meeting her. With that in mind, Chasen took one last bite and turned away from the doe, looking towards the two adults and the pup they had brought along with them.

Kebechet can sense annoyance from the strange smelling wolf, and braces for rejection. However, chancing a glance over at the male beside her, she cannot help but feel relieved. He was smiling - not in that creepy, I'm going to enjoy tearing you up way that some of the more...violent wolves enjoyed doing, but in a way that seemed genuinely friendly. Soon after she notices this, she is allowed to stay - so long as she helps contribute. The newly introduced Paris seems kind of strict, but fair, as far as she can tell. "Of course I'll help out - even if I can't catch bigger stuff, with such a large group someone's bound to appreciate a rabbit or two." The last portion is mostly just the she-wolf thinking aloud, brow furrowed in thought for a moment before her expression smooths out again.
Now that she wasn't so focused on not offending anyone, she is able to take in the rest of the group. From behind Paris and Chasen steps a small canine, who offers a smile of welcome. Paris had introduced her as Theodosia, and even though she seems kinda quiet, Chet quickly takes a liking to her. She was another with a confusing scent, though - one that was slightly less foreign than Paris', but still confusing all the same. It served as a reminder that she still had a lot to learn about the world - which is in part why she's so excited to be here. Surrounded by others, all with their own experiences and skills, it would be impossible not to pick up a thing or two. This was a good chance for her to meet new people, and learn new things.
As she is invited to eat beside them, she cannot help but feel a bit guilty. Surely, she didn't deserve this yet? She'd have to hunt for them as thanks, and soon - though she doubts she'd be able to catch enough for everyone on her own. Settling beside Theodosia, she waits until others dig in before eagerly biting into the deer. She hasn't had prey like this since she was still with her parents, and it takes all her self control not to wolf it down as fast as she can. Maybe if she started a bit of small talk, she wouldn't be as tempted? Plus, she could ease some of her own curiosity. Swiping a pink tongue over her muzzle, she glances curiously between Paris and Theodosia. "I dunno if this is rude, or something, but I've never smelled anyone like you two before." She doesn't make it a question, since she didn't really want to pry, but she hopes the two she-wolves were willing to enlighten her. Turning her head as some more wolves and a pup come in, she unconsciously presses a bit closer to Theodosia before realizing what she was doing. Offering a somewhat sheepish smile as apology - she hoped she didn't make the little brown wolf uncomfortable - she returns her attention to the trio. "Sorry," she says by way of response, shaking her head to indicate that the pup wasn't hers either.

"I think one is enough for now especially since that one is you and you seem like you have the mentality of a pup or act like one anyways." Indris grinned at Seraphina's words as he raised an eyebrow towards her direction, a flirtatious smirk on his attractive features. " Oh, so we're companions now? And damn, a pup? Want me to show you how adult I can be?" he said teasingly and effortlessly, the grin only getting flirtier with a swipe of his tongue along black lips. He loved making others squirm and flush with his words. It was definitely up there on his top ten things to do in life. Yet it didn't take his attention for all too long as the group of rogues echoed back how the kid wasn't theirs. The runt was already at Seraphina's paws looking at her desperately and Indris chuckled. "Awe, looks like there's not going to be any alone time with my new companion." he said with a wink, his tone not as hushed as the female probably would have preferred. Lavender orbs scanned the group or rogues, all different shapes and sizes, and hell even species. Yet they all seemed a little on the younger side, prime in their youth although already into adulthood. What an age. He sat in a rather relaxed manner on his haunches, a lazy smile spread across his face as he eyed the individuals of the group. A few hybrids and only two males from what he could spot. A rather dark, intimidating male was what caught his eye as he sat a little quietly. He was fairly muscular although a little smaller than Indris. Then again, the male dwarfed just about everyone he met. Yet he made a mental note not to bark up that tree wrongly. "Sooo, what's the deal with you guys then? Some sort of group?" he grinned playfully. The group had sparked some sort of interest in the males rather dull day, although he had no intentions to stick around for too long. "Forgive me if I come across as forward, or such. I've never seen a group so peculiar."

Lucifer wouldn’t be able to fill his stomach with the juicy flesh of their carcass for long. Ears would twitch evidently at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, causing his head to shoot up like a wary prey animal, eyes befalling on a male that obviously outdid him in height. The newcomer had taken him by surprise; it forced Lu to remind himself that he needed to stay aware, he couldn’t fall into laziness simply because there were other eyes to watch for him. That’s what would get him killed… But thankfully, like all the recent rogues that had approached, Lucifer didn’t find the need to be alarmed. There was no body language from the other male that suggested him being a threat, which softened the darker male’s posture just a tad.
"Forgive me if I come across as forward, or such. I've never seen a group so peculiar."
Lucifer had expected -what would be of the norm- for either Paris or Chasen to come forward with a reply to the grinning brute. Though he hoped more so Paris then the grayish male, Lucifer seeming to favor the hybrid, for Chasen’s first impression hadn’t really sat well on the quiet male, then again he didn't know either all to well yet, he'd just have to stick around longer to see for himself. With his train of thought fading he returned to the situation, but rather than a conversation taking place, silence befell on them, Lu shifting his gaze uncomfortably between the new male and whatever else was around as he stood awkwardly.
He choose to clear the air. Quickly.
“Don’t you think peculiarity gives life a much more compelling twist? Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting.”
Lu spoke softly with a smile as he sauntered a little closer, sitting down still by the carcass but more so facing whom he was talking too. “Were just a few rogues that decided to give a go at hunting… well, discounting those that had joined us afterwards.”

Valentino waited with the pups, the fire began to grow hotter and hotter as it pushed closer towards them. Thankfully the saturated ground around them kept the fire at bay and as the area around them burned away, the wind began to push it in the opposite direction. Thankfully that meant the flames were slowly being pushed in the opposite direction, as well as having some of the heat pushed away from them. As the crackling and popping within the forest grew louder, he could only hope the Khloie had found a safe place. He tried to keep the pups between him and the lake, with the fire at his back. He didn't try to talk to them, as he was only met with snark and sass, which was typical for grumpy pups. Within the distance you could hear thuds which could only be fallen trees which made him a little nervous and he began to keep an eye on any trunks beginning to sway. Which was good because a tree close to them that was already rotten at the base began to sway in their direction. As he began to feel worry, be quickly picked up Simon and ran half way around the lake, where the flames weren't as bad and the heat wasn't as strong. Dropping the pup, he commanded, "Stay here," before turning to go after Azrath. Coming up at a run, he noticed the tree's sway beginning to get worse, snatching the white fluff ball, he turned and began to try to get out of the tree's path. As it fell though, the tree's branches that were on fire came down on Valentino's flank and back. Jerking forward he collapsed, in the process accidentally tossing Azrath forward. Soon his back and fur was on fire, letting out a cry of pain he tried to jerk out from under a thick branch. Snarling, he finally got out but collapsed again a foot away. Moving and whining, he slowly rolled into the water, extinguishing the flames. However, now mud and algae was stuck to his back burns. Moving back to Azrath, he picked up the pup, and began to limp back towards where Simon was. Dropping the young-ling next to his brother, he collapsed and passed out. @khloie, @simon, Scout Azrath - probably dead

Azrath “All That He Asked Was To Be Left To Exist As Humbly As The Butterflies And The Birds.”
Azrath was met with no answer from the large brute, who got up and began pacing in front of the burning trees, making him push his brow down in a frown as he circled around. Flopping into the mud, the bleached pup finally realized that there were tears pricking the inner corners of his pearly eyes, dangerously threatening to spill down his checks and dampen the already muddy ground. As one droplet began to roll down his mussed face, the pup buried his head between his paws as to not let the others see his pain. His chest rocked with tiny sobs, petite form nervously quivering, everything suddenly catching up to him as he thought back to their startling flee from the warmth of the den, recalling the terrified expression on his dear mother's face.
Sucking in breath through his constricted throat and taking in the safe, earthy scent from the clean air pocket cupped against his chest, Azrath worked to calm himself. He knew that his brother was likely to chortle at him, tease him and call him a baby, but he couldn't help it. He wasn't afraid to admit it, he was completely and utterly terrified, frozen to the muddy sand mix and bending like limp noodle under the pressure of the moment.
The snapping of branches, the popping of burning trees still alive and sappy, and the thunder of unsteady trees loosing their footing only fueled the poor whelp's tears as they slid more freely down his cheeks, wetting the baby fuzz that coated his plump, puppy body. The cold water lapped at his hind paws, pink pads exposed to the brunt of the frigid wash even as he attempted to pull them out of reach, coiling his small hind legs up on one side of his torso. However, the breeze that caressed his petite form was lukewarm, carrying with it the cough-causing grey clouds and gently spreading a light dusting of ash onto his pelt. Oblivious to the absence of his brother, petrified, and shivering.
Until he felt jaws wrap tightly around his scruff, strength unknown to him yanking him into the air and sending his most recent tears dribbling to the spot of mud he had previously found comfort in. A yelp escaped his pearly maw, wide white orbs blinking as the smoke stung them. Glancing toward his captor, he was unsurprised to find that it was this Val guy who had unceremoniously grabbed him and hefted him into space. With long, worry laced whimpers, the pup settled for the ride, closing his eyes to protect them from the damaging gray that awaited. But with a sudden crash and spurt of heat, Azrath went flying. Wind gushed in his ears, airborne sparks finding his fur and lighting hotly on his flesh. He cried out, the heated stings like fifty bees around him as he smashed into the forgiving beach mud. A crippling pain burst up his front leg, shooting down to his toes and up to his shoulder blade where it finally ceased to spread. With an agonized yelp, the pup jerked his soiled limb out from under him, rolling onto his back and coating his pelt in mud. The limb throbbed numbly, sharp pains jolting his leg when he tried to exert it, probably only sprained yet he cried like it had snapped in two, not wise to the feeling of bruises, cuts or scraps in his young age. The stings along his sides and spin cooled, calming as he rolled in the mud, whimpering and babying the sore leg by resting it gingerly on his chest.
Grunts and snarls from behind him interrupted his barrage of pained whines, as he craned his neck to view whoever it was who was behind him. The whelp's eyes widened when he realized what had happened in the last few seconds. Val was caught under a large branch, pressing down on his hind limbs and lower spine to prevent his escape. As Azrath watched, a flaming brach system tumbled from above, catching the wood and the wolf around it on fire. Flames climbed on the large brute's back, roaring and flaring as it spread onto every hair on his midnight hued back. Yowling, the brute scrambled desperately, paws grasping for something, anything in the mud ahead as the orange beast upon his back tore into his flesh. Val finally managed to free himself, fleeing from the downed tree and tumbling into the lake water without a moments hesitation. The water seeped over his coarse black fur, putting the flames to rest as it slicked his coat.
Azrath opened his mouth, trying to call to him and make sure he was alright, but the midnight furred male didn't give him a chance. Emerging from the lake with muddy water pouring off of him, Val swept up the bleached pup once again. His movements were erratic, obvious tenderness from his wounds even as he chanced his life to get the pup to a less smokey part of the shore.
Depositing the whelp beside his brother, Azrath watched with wide eyes as he swayed unsurely, paws splaying to hold his gigantic body, before he lost his balance and slammed into the ground, expression growing blank and eyes falling shut. "Val!" The whelp practically screeched as he watched the male plummet downward, confused about everything that had just happened and scared for the big wolf. When no answer came he tried again, tears now flowing freely as he prodded the males side despairingly. "Val... Val Val Val..." His words muffled as sobs hiccuped in his chest. Turning away from the wrecked wolf, the pup looked first at his brother, and then toward the burning woods ahead of them. "Mommy! Mommy!" Choked screams tumbled from his lips, throat freeing just enough to let him cry for his mom. "Mommy! Please... please..."

Theodosia "The Doll Was Perfect, A Dress Of Silk And Lace, Skin Of Blushing Porcelain And Eyes Of Jade Glass."
Theodosia feasted silently as the conversation promptly ended, the tempting scent of deer meat making her salivate and unable to resist. The last she had had deer meat... the last time she had had deer meat was much too long ago, back when she was a desperate little yearling. She had snuck into a wolf camp, despair clouding her life and rational thought, desperate for any pinch of food that hadn't gone rotten or tasted as green as it looked. She would have done anything at all for that meat, and it was the best thing she had ever tasted. Theo softly chuckled at the memory, as she recalled the final parts of the tale. Of course she hadn't covered her tracks and the wolves found her a few yards away, gnawing gratefully on a leg, stripping it to the bone. They didn't pause to shoo her off, kindly enough as to let her drag the shredded limb with her, only a small nip to her hind hock as she fled.
The small bump of someone's flank dragged the quirky hybrid back to reality, angular head spinning to see who it was that was moving in beside her. Surprise, followed quickly by appreciation and joy puppeteered her expression as she scooted aside, closer to Paris and giving Kebechet some room to get comfortable. Giving the younger she-wolf a peppy smile, the little hybrid dropped her head down again to nibble at her portion of the deer, licking her muzzle impulsively after each bite to keep her face clean.
"I dunno if this is rude, or something, but I've never smelled anyone like you two before." Jerking her head up, Theo's face morphed into great excitement, bushy tail swishing rapidly behind her. "Of course it's not rude!" She gently assured, taking the yearling's words as a compliment instead of an offense. As she cracking her small jaws open to respond with an answer to satisfy Kebe's curiosity, a group of three new wolves barged in, rapidly throwing questions as the wolves before Theodosia could even process their sudden presence. "Hey, excuse me," A rather handsome young male called out, making Theo blush for absolutely no reason whatsoever. "Don't suppose the runt is any of yours, is she?" The hybrid glanced toward the young creature that he gestured toward, giving the poor little thing a sweet smile but she shook her head. "Myself and the pretty little lady over there found her."
After a long moment of head shakes and muttered responses and the silver flecked brute studying them, he opened his mouth again with a new question on his mind. "Sooo, what's the deal with you guys then? Some sort of group?" His grin was flirty, the bashful hybrid smiling shyly at his expression even as her heart hammered away. "Forgive me if I come across as forward, or such. I've never seen a group so peculiar." Swaying her tail, back arching nervously as she felt his eyes move over her, Theo took a step back, only to feel the deer blocking her in. All these wolves were starting to worry her. Was her coyote-ish scent drawing them? Would she get them into danger? Glancing toward Paris with slight concern, as she had said absolutely nothing to the newcomers, Theodosia gently bumped her, trying to awake her from her little dreamland.
“Don’t you think peculiarity gives life a much more compelling twist? Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting. We're just a few rogues that decided to give a go at hunting… well, discounting those that had joined us afterwards.” Lucifer intervened, Theo giving a grateful sigh as he moseyed toward the newcomers with ease.
Hunching backward nervously, the quirky little hybrid softly added in after Lucifer. "What're your names?" As she spoke, her flustered face grew hot as she quickly realized her quick acting and hurried to correct herself. "I-I mean, it's nice to meet you. Sorry..."

Chasen listened in and watched as the pair of wolves continued to have a conversation with the wolves that he could say were a part of his group. Lucifer spoke the most that Chasen had ever heard him speak sparked by the blackish male that had approached just before. Chasen didn't enjoy the vibes that he was getting from the male, he seemed even more flirtatious that himself, but not in a polite way. More in a crude, teenager way. Finishing off the his chunk of meat, Chasen turned to Peri, murmuring to her, "I'll be right back, just give me a second." Chasen gave the wolves around him a nod before trotting away from the carcass. He just needed a moment to clear his head. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice that his surroundings were heating up. By the time he tuned back in, flames had surrounded him. In his panic, Chasen burst into a sprint, hoping that he could just reach the other side of the fire rather than going into the center of the storm, as he was doing. Fire began to singe his fur, and smoke filled his lungs more and more with every passing second. His eyes stung from the smoke and the fact that he had realized that he wasn't getting any closer to the edge of the fire. Trying his hardest to keep moving, Chasen turned around in an attempt to rectify his mistake. It was no use. Oxygen wasn't getting into his lungs, his body was shutting down, and flames firmly licked his flesh, sending increasingly numb spikes of pain to his brain. His knee buckled, sending his lurching, coughing frame crashing down. Wheezing, he clawed his way forward, knowing that it was of no use. As smoke took over his body, everything suddenly went black. OOC: Sorry guys, I just don't think I can play him to the extent of his character, so I'm killing him off

After the wolfdog had offered a warm welcome, Hirsch felt herself relax into her own fur. Their gift of the fawn had been well received, and the chocolate female bowed her head and stepped away from their meal. Her stomach was already satisfied, and she wanted to avoid appearing greedy to her newfound companions. She looked around once more, studying the group around her, the wolfdog not being the only canine to stand out. A smaller coywolf ate at the doe that laid on the ground, a young female by her side. An attractive dark male had sat atop it, seemingly shy, but this act came across as somewhat playful to her.
Before she could decide on who she should introduce herself to first, three new wolves appeared from the woods. A male, a female, and a young pup. Their energies were mismatched, though, not quite feeling like a family, and definitely not feeling like their own pack. Hirsch chuckled slightly to herself, more misfits for their ever increasing group. The large and handsome new male spoke, an air of cockiness about him, "Sooo, what's the deal with you guys then? Some sort of group?" The young, dark female looked back and him intently, giving a small nod despite being the newest of the wolves. "Forgive me if I come across as forward, or such. I've never seen a group so peculiar," Hirsch felt herself become slightly submissive under the new male's gaze. He was stunning, flirtatious, and something about him made her want to disappear. She felt relieved when his lavender eyes only scanned over her.
“Don’t you think peculiarity gives life a much more compelling twist? Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting.” Hirsch snapped her head around, finding comfort in the words of the other dark male. He had moved slightly closer, and his shyness seemed to have melted away. Maybe he was defending his now large, and ever expanding pack of females? “Were just a few rogues that decided to give a go at hunting…" The dark female listened intently to his explanation, finding the group's originally reason for gathering interesting. If this doe was their catch, then hadn't been a group for too long now. "...well, discounting those that had joined us afterwards.” Her dark grey eyes dropped a bit, feeling shy as the dark male behind her referred to the category of newcomers that she belonged to. This shyness was new to her, caught between two handsome young males, she didn't want to move or draw attention to herself. Despite this, she found herself glad that she was nearer to the black male than she was to the newcomer, he was gentle in nature.
Taking a breath, and gathering her confidence, she paced forwards, towards the purple eyed male. She neared enough to sniff him, a move she had decided would establish who she was, but also that would allow her to put her mind at ease when it came to this new male. "What're your names?" she heard the coywolf, Theodosia was it, call out, a flicker of nervousness in her voice. "I-I mean, it's nice to meet you. Sorry..." she backtracked slightly. Hirsch nodded, giving the three newcomers a pleasant glance as she moved to sniff at the female, and the pup.
"I'm Hirsch, nice to meet you. The fawn is my kill," She lowered her head to the pup, "and you're welcome to have some if you're hungry." The cocoa colored female offered a slight smile before turning back towards the rest of the group, deciding now was the best time to make herself a part of them. She laid down near the black male and the shy coywolf Theodosia, feeling her nerves rattle a bit. Why was she so nervous now? She glanced up to Theo and the dark male, looking for something in their faces, possibly approval possibly the same air of distrust.

"Why am I constantly on a state of confusion?"

Post by Nooné on Mar 7, 2018 17:41:22 GMT -8
Nooné found himself walking aimlessly, again. The male had not been eating that much as of lately, and was actually starting to worry about what consecuences that would bring sooner or later. After some thinking, he just shrugged off the thought and decided that it would be best to just keep on moving forward. Got to find something to eat. I can't keep this up.. As he wandered off, his mind quickly began to trail off again, not really focusing on finding food anymore. For some reason, ever since he left the others behind, that habit of his had become a trend, and a pretty dangerous one, considering everything.
After almost crashing against a fallen log, Nooné came back to his senses, and decided that the best he could do now was to just sit down for a minute, try to relax his thoughts and just analyze his surroundings. Of course, it did not take much for the brown male to realize that he had no clue as to where he was. All he could say is that he was in somewhat of a bushy, muddy forest, but that's about it.
Tired, lost and aware of his complicated position, the brute started to grow desperate, imagining a thousand and one scenarios where he would end up badly, shivering ocassionally, while looking down at the muddy ground. "What do I even do now?"

The male stood between two trees, sniffing the air in search of something fresh to eat. His stomach rumbled. "No matter," he thought, continuing to wander through the muddied forest. Yellowtails gut was telling him to turn back, but the hunger eating away at him told him to continue his search.
After walking some distance, he finally heard some rustling which appeared to be coming from the brush surrounding a nearby rotted log. Yellowtail froze, listening intently and sniffing the ground. "Good" He began slowly stalking the animal, creeping step by step and making an attempt at staying silent. Reaching the edge of the brush, he launched himself in the direction of the rustling noise and found himself chasing a small squirrel.
He ran after the spry creature, pine needles and mud sticking to his paws making the task even more difficult as it already was. The squirrel was fast, and Yellowtail thought he could be faster. Sprinting through the forest, branches and brambles tore away at the large wolfs pelt. Eventually, after growing tired, the brute decided to stop and rest. Mud was caked in his paws, and his pelt was torn apart and bleeding slightly. He sat back on his haunches and sighed heavily. .Food will come another day

He had received a nod from a cocoa-pelted female, then the dark male answered his question, the one he had analysed earlier. “Don’t you think peculiarity gives life a much more compelling twist? Makes it a hell of a lot more interesting.” His voice was soft and a took a few steps closer. I guess first impressions aren't everything. No, it seemed the male was rather nice, the not wanting the cause trouble type. And Indris could respect that. Something told him he wanted to stay on this males good side, yet all Indris knew was to be trouble. “Were just a few rogues that decided to give a go at hunting... well, discounting those that had joined us afterwards.” The violet-eyed male gave an acknowledged nod in his direction, an easy, calming smile flashed at the dark male too. Now Indris liked to float his own boat often, but that's simply because he knew he could. And because of this, over the years, the male had become a rather observant individual. Scanning each body, his eyes tuned into two in particular. Two that visibly reacted to him. The dark female who nodded at his question, seemed to shy away ever so slightly. And one of the unique scented ones, who had tried to take a step back - only to be stopped by the carcass. His soft gaze suddenly turned predatory, pupils almost becoming slits as a grin settled on his lips. The oaken female padded towards him, near enough to catch his scent and Indris eyed her up and down, leaving no strand of fur un-looked at. She seemed to have a streak of confidence in this bold move and Indris appreciated this also. He raised an eyebrow as he grinned down at her, before the shy coy-wolf spoke. "What're your names?" she spoke quickly and got flustered straight after. Oh she was precious. "I-I mean, it's nice to meet you. Sorry..." she recovered as the dark female went to sniff at Indris' companions. "I'm Hirsch, nice to meet you. The fawn is my kill," she spoke before speaking to the runt Indris and Seraphina had found and then turning back to the group. Settling herself near the dark male and the flustered coy-wolf. Giving a quick glance to Seraphina, he cocked a smirk before taking a few steps towards the group. "The names Indris," he said confidentially, his deep voice making his words come out like a purr. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance sir and little ladies." He added with a wink, having to look down at the two females purely just because of the height difference. It was rather endearing in all honesty. "I don't believe I caught your names?" He hummed, deep violet eyes flickering between the chocolate brute and the cinnamon hybrid. He sat back, relaxed and easy on his haunches, his tail lazily flickering behind him as he grinned.

Simon cannot help but agree with everything his brother is saying; momma was a calm and nice wolf, so for her to get that upset with Valentino means he must have done something terrible. She didn’t even talk to him like that when he wandered off on his adventures; at least, he can’t remember a time when she had raised her voice at him in anger. However, he is unable to contribute as he is wracked with rasping coughs, head lowered like his tiny body was trying to curl in on itself while standing. He doesn’t feel any better when the choking subsides either; his lungs felt dirty, like he had inhaled a bunch of Azrath’s puppy down and it was sticking to his insides. As wind howls past, blowing the inferno and smoke away, he turns into the wind and breaths in blessedly clean air, jaws parted wide. Now that the acrid smell of smoke was not so stifling, he can pick up traces of salt; that, along with the sound of yelp-ish cries, pull his attention towards Azrath. The pearly ball of fluff had been reduced to a puddle of misery in the mud, and Simon swallows any distaste he may have. Their mother was gone into the blazing woods and they were stuck here with a stranger - if it weren’t for the puppy’s stubborn pride he would no doubt be in tears as well. Toddling over to his pale counterpart he drops into the mud, resting a narrow head on a white shoulder. Jaws latch around a small ear, baby teeth tugging gently in an attempt to comfort with a familiar act of play - though whom he was trying to comfort, the puppy didn’t know. Shoulders hunched uncomfortably as he tries to conjure up the right words, he releases a cry of surprise as he is hoisted into the air. Before he can protest he is whisked away to a different shore and promptly dropped. Now, he does protest, but his sharp cry of “Hey!” is lost to the wind. Keeping Valentino in his sight, honeyed eyes widen until the whites show as the ebony pup sees the swaying tree. Horror sinks in his chest as it looses a whining creak and begins to topple just as the large male picks up his brother and begins to run. “Azrath!” He screams, ignoring Val’s command to stay in place. Stumbling forward as fast as his legs could carry him, he runs to try and meet them, breath leaving his chest in little gasps of fear. Moving is hard; the smoke had gotten to him, setting his head to pouding and lungs to burning. The mud is slick under his paws, and he trips on an errant pebble, the pup whines as his jaw smacks against the ground and blood pools in his mouth, but he was too anxious to worry about a bitten tongue. He couldn’t just watch as Val and his brother...as Azrath...goes flying? The dark furred puppy skids to a stop as the tree crashes to the ground, muffling his sibling’s cries of pain. Freezing, he drops into a crouch as his ears ring, puppy fuzz raising in alarm as the sound of cracking fire and twisting branches drowns out everything. Creeping over to his brother’s fallen form, he whimpers, redshot eyes roving over the other. Neither had ever been injured to such an extent, and he has no idea how to fix this. Someone who had seemed so large only a moment ago was now reduced to a smoldering mess at their feet, Azrath was hurt, and he himself was more bruised up that he’d ever been before - it is all to easy to give in to childish fear, and join his brother in his cries. ”Momma!”

After a couple of minutes of deep thought, Nooné managed to raise his head off the ground, looking straight ahead, as if the solution to all of his problems was there, just hiding in plain sight. With the corner of his eye, he managed to catch a glimpse of something small, just passing through. When the brown male turned to his side, he quickly realized that the thing he saw was actually a squirrel. Now, since Nooné had not had a decent meal in some time, he was overjoyed with the sudden golden opportunity.
Just when the brute was about to thoughtlessly start to chase the animal down, forgetting completely what his parents and siblings had taught him a year prior, he saw another animal, stealthily creeping towards it. Upon further inspection, Nooné realized that this unknown individual was one of his kind, another wolf. Not really sure what to do, or how to properly approach, the brown wolf made sure to stay out of this stranger's sight. Would not want them to think I'm a threat or something.
Suddenly, a race for survival had started. The stranger had begun to chase the squirrel down, recklessly running through branches and brambles as if there was no tomorrow. Curiously but cautiously, Nooné followed them, just to see where all of this ended, slowly speeding up the pace to keep up with the pair. Hiding behind bushes and logs, the brute advanced through the zone, trying his very best not to bring the attention to himself.
After a while, the other wolf seemed to be getting tired, slowing his pace down, and finally just stopping and sitting back. Nooné began to get closer to him, making as little sound as he possibly could. Just when he began to grow confident in his stealth skills, a big crunch was heard. The brown male had stepped on a little group of dry branches, almost right behind the other male. "Oh crap..."
