Nereus was quiet for a second, pondering on what he should do. His plan was to continue North, but as of right now, that didn’t seem to be working in his favor. He’d only been able to take down smaller prey, and with the help of these two they could quite possibly get much more food. Curious about Mira’s answer would be to Steller’s offer, he remained quiet and just watched the two interact. After a short interaction, Steller was looking at him. “Would you like to come?” He didn’t see why not, it was only beneficial at the moment. “Sure!” Nereus said with a little to much excitement. He always hated when he had to be by himself but he didn’t have to get so excited. Slightly embarrassed, Nereus looked at the two she-wolves, “Shall we get going?” @steller Mira

Three was a very solid number, Steller decided. She was rather pleased of this. Three was enough to provide good hunting and good protection while also not being so many that it slowed travelling down. Yes, three felt like the right amount. She listened to Nereus speak, finding his excitement almost endearing—not that she showed it. She let him finish before speaking up again herself. “Sounds like a good idea to me. Mira, you up for that? If we start now, we could be in the brush lands in... a few days, maybe—that’s including time for hunting.” Steller said, taking a moment to consider how far they could walk. She took into account their sizes, although she had never seen either running and didn’t know them well enough to make an exact guess. And, in all fairness, she was a rogue wolf—she was not the sharpest tool in the shed by any means. @nereus Mira

There was an excited spark in Mira's honey eyes upon Steller's response. With a bright beam still plastered on her snout, Mira watched as the pale rogue turned to the he-wolf who had remained silent for awhile. "Sure!" he exclaimed aloud. His level of enthusiasm seemed to be equivalent to that of an energetic pup. The charcoal female gave a little gleeful chuckle as he attempted to hide some of his excitement, seeming mortified by his demeanour. There really was no filter to his emotions, just like Mira herself. “Shall we get going?” He tested the words, attempting to make them sound a lot calmer.
“Sounds like a good idea to me. Mira, you up for that? If we start now, we could be in the brush lands in... a few days, maybe—that’s including time for hunting.” Mira admired how the older lady had taken everything into account, making sure that their plan was a perfect one. Mira was about to quip: "Yep!", but quickly held her tongue. She decided to think this through again. Although she would love to come along with Steller and Nereus, there had always been one goal in Mira's mind - to get to Ferus. The pack her family had used to tell her about. Although she was no expert in getting around the area, Mira knew where Ferus was. All she had to do was to wander around until she find a group of towering, pointy mountains hurdled together in the vast, plain desert. So after a long awkward pause, she looked up to the two new friends she had just made, announcing apologetically: "I would love to join the both of you, but I have a place in mind where I would like to head to. I'm so sorry... It's nice meeting the both of you." With that, she headed off towards where the forest cleared into a sandy plain, hoping that she was going the right way.

Steller watched Mira leave, staring as the wolf’s silhouette became smaller and smaller disappointedly. Her irritated sigh got caught in her throat, becoming a quiet growl. She was disappointed to lose the wolf but got over it quickly. It is what it is, Steller wasn’t going to force the other to stay. Oh well, two wolves would work. It wasn’t quite as secure as three but still safer than one. Steller turned to her attention to Nereus.
“So... that was a thing.” Steller muttered, an amused sarcastic hint to her tone. She didn’t acknowledge Mira’s disappearance further. “Let’s start heading South. If we start now we can get to the Brush Lands by nightfall.” Steller just expected him to follow and had decided she wasn’t going to care if he didn’t.

Hux
Hux revealed in the anger that shone in Kylo’s eyes as he reported to Shikoba, then immediately took charge of the situation. “Fine, just don’t let it get away.” Hux’s emerald eyes narrowed.
“I think I’m more than capable of handling a calf, Kylo, so long as you do your job.” He hissed, flicking his tail behind him and watched as Shikoba took point this time. The coywolf followed closely behind her, delicate pawsteps falling into those that the female ahead of him made.
Hux settled sidelong from Shikoba, sinking lower on his paws, ready to dart from his position and nodded to the female, though she didn’t look back to check, only twisted an ear to listen. As the she-wolf sprung off into the direction of the herd, he followed, close behind her.
The coywolf looked to his cohorts, hoping they would do their job and do it well before darting forward past Shikoba, ready to grab the baby. All at once, chaos ensued, the does running for safety and the buck disappearing from sight. Emerald eyes honed in on the calf before himself and Shikoba, but she was taking too long. Hux darted forward, his jaws clamping onto the calf as it stood to run away. Only then was Hux aware of what was happening around him. The buck charged at the coywold, rearing up onto its back legs to deliver a powerful blow to the small male’s head. Panic filled his stomach as he moved back, releasing his pray and snorting in frustration at Kylo’s inability to do one simple task. The russet male reared back himself as the gigantic buck slammed his legs down, connecting not with himself, but with Shikoba’s tiny frame which had launched from her position a few strides away to barrel into the buck.
Seeing the opportunity to flee, the calf ran as fast as it could with its newly injured leg, and Hux steeled himself, watching ruefully before returning his attention back to his partner. Blood seeped from the wound the elk’s jagged hooves left on her skull, probably having rattled around her brain too, he felt pity and imagined the pain she would feel later.
“Kylo!” He bellowed, leaping behind the massive creature and snapping his jaws at the back legs whilst staying far enough away from its deadly blows. The buck shot its legs back, attacking with both its front legs and back legs simultaneously and the coywolf valiantly leaped upon its back, sinking his ivories into the savory flesh of its neck and shoulder blades. Rearing back once more, the elk twisted it’s body in the air, shoving Hux off the side and it jumped in the air twice before twisting itself once more towards the trees, bucking at the offending parties before darting into the safety of the tree cover.
Shaky breaths rattled inside Hux’s chest and he could feel his heartbeat in his ears, the roaring of his blood circulating deafening him for a few moments before he looked to Shikoba.
“Wouldn’t happen to know a Salutary, would you? I might just gave to do.” He chuckled to himself, he knew he could use Cobwebs to stop the bleeding and poppy seed to numb the pain, he’d had that remedy applied to him more times than he could count. As for staving off infection though? He was clueless.
Padding towards a low hanging branch, his bloody maw reached towards a web nestled in the crook between the branch and the tree itself, and brought it over to her, pressing the makeshift bandage to stop the bleeding. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked, and that was all that mattered.

Red and white iris' watched as both the smaller female and his coywolf companion made their way toward the herd, the little calf simply laid near the larger members of its herd with no guardian in particular. He brushed off Hux's little snarky comment about being more than competent enough to handle a calf so long as he did his job, he had a point but the Yukon wasn't about to admit that to the green eyed male. Large black paws waited until Hux and Shikoba were close enough to the calf to strike, taking off at a brisk run toward the buck but to no avail, they launched their attack faster than he could gain the bucks attention, glistening antlers and sharpened hooves made their presence known as Shikoba took a blow to the head and Hux was almost impaled, stepped on and charged. Black ears planted firmly against his head as he growled and snapped his teeth at the buck, wanting to drive him off before he could do any more damage, it was when Hux launched himself onto the Bucks back that Kylo felt something like pride swell in his chest, he did not particularity like Hux due to their differences, but it was something truly valiant and skillful to launch ones self onto the back of an aggressive buck in order to drive it off.
Only with the bucks absence after fleeing toward the trees could Kylo look around, ensuring there was no more danger and that no more harm would come to their little rogue group. His crimson and red eyes looked in the direction of Hux as he talked to Shikoba about weather or not she knew a salutary and that he would have to do, a small smirk placing itself on his maw. He padded over to watch as the Coywolf made a makeshift bandage in an attempt to stop the bleeding, he hoped the Buck hadn't scrambled Shikoba's brains too badly, she was so small, he was surprised she could take a blow like that.
"With bandaging skills like those, you'll be a salutary in no time."Kylo humored Hux's comment, turning his head to keep an eye out in case that buck came back. @hux @shikoba

Guided by his instincts, by that small voice up his head that told him when and where to go, Mace, followed by his apprentice, walked into the forest. Smells of all kinds and directions invaded the experienced male, knowing well food was close for the pair to hunt them down. "We'll go to the rock pools and shallows next time, young apprentice," said the brown wolf as he spotted his soon-to-be meal, in the form of a squirrel. Stealthily, Mace got closer and closer to the rodent, mentality debating wheter to leap at the smaller animal or to just make a run for it. Deciding for the former, he took just a few steps back while calculating the distance between his objective and himself. Making the jump, the squirrel was barely able to run back, avoiding his attack by mere inches. In panic, the small animals picked up the pace and tried to run away from her hunter, to no avail. Pouncing at the rodent a second time, Mace had managed to get a hold of it with his jaws, dragging the small body, swiftly cutting it open with his claws. The male looked back, searching for Rey. If she was standing there spectating the whole ordeal, Mace will say "Your turn, young one," before sitting down to observe his apprentice's hunting skills. If she's already busy with her own prey, he'll still just sit and watch the she-wolf in action. Rey

Rey followed close to her mentor's trail without complaint despite the thick and relentless mud that stuck itself to her pristine coat with every step she took. It would have been so easy for them if they had've just gone to the rock pools as she had suggested, but Mace obviously wasn't interested in such a boring route. There had to be a reason that he had decided to come into the forest. Rey was half convinced that the male had some sort of psychic power guiding him through life, with his seemingly infinite amount of wisdom and knowledge, it felt like there was nothing he didn't know, and she was honoured to be following the teachings of such an incredible soul. The she-wolf came to a stop as Mace did, her sapphire eyes peering around his timber hues to spot the little rodent that he had set his sights on. She decided it would be best to stay back as Mace made his move to grab the morsel, her calculative gaze watching his every movement and taking notes of his technique, even though she had seen this a thousand times before. He pounced once and missed. Repositioning himself, he pounced again and found his mark, his jaws snapping down onto the prey. Rey's tail gave a slight sway as she watched, enthralled by the ease that came to him with such a task. "Your turn, young one," Mace spoke as he returned to her side and sat as he intended to watch her attempt to try and catch something decent to fill her needy guts. Rey sent her eyes searching over the muddy grounds, sapphire hues gleaming as she took in every little detail until she watched another squirrel scamper down a tree not far from where she stood. The she-wolf lowered her body, creamy undersides brushing against the mud as she stalked forward, hoping to catch the scavenging rodent while it was still unaware. Rey leapt into the air, her paws aiming to come crashing down on it's tiny neck, but it was quicker than her, slipping out from under her and darting off through the trees. Desperate to prove herself and avoid failure, Rey was quickly back on her paws, bolting after the rodent as it scurried away, distressed squeaks ringing through the air as she pursued it. Her focus was entirely pinned on keeping track of the speedy little squirrel, so much so that she was unaware of the massive wolf standing in front of her until she crashed into him, toppling head over heels as the pair would tumble to the muddy ground in a flurry of black and white fur. Rey gasped as she tried to find her footing, shaking the shock from her head as her blue gaze settled at the paws of the brute she had accidentally decked. "I'm so sorry, I didn't—Kylo!?" The female gaped as her gaze finally made it's way up the familiar body, settling on red and white eyes that were all too telling. Memories flashed passed. Memories of the grizzled old man that had accompanied him and ordered Kylo to kill her before meeting his own demise. Rey had never thought she would see his face again. Yet here he was.

Mismatched eyes watched as Hux rushed forward, biting repeatedly at the calf before finally finding purchase and snapping shut over the weaker bones of the smaller animal. Chaos raged around them, does scattered and the buck was nowhere to be seen, at least for a second. Shikoba had been hanging back giving Hux room to do his thing, but with her distance she could see the buck coming at top speed trying to kill the coywolf and protect one of its herd. Small legs pushed harder into the ground as she picked up speed, crashing her body into the elk’s and receiving kicks to the head in return. A loud yelp escaped her muzzle, whines began to escape her mouth as she hit the ground beneath the buck, she couldn’t help the reaction, it was instinctive and with her small size the devastation those hooves caused wreaked havoc on her body. She received one less powerful kick to the ribs as the animal turned to deal with Hux, but right now that was the last thing on her mind, it barely even registered on her pain scale. Shikoba’s paws scrambled on the ground as she tried to move away from the threat and stay out of the way, blood seeping into her eyes as she did so. Finally, the small black female collapsed unable to go any further, mainly from the pain, but also in part because she couldn’t see where she was going anymore. She waited in silence, tongue hanging out of her mouth as she panted, trying to forget about the immense pain that raged in both her skull and her body. Shikoba’s white eye, now covered in red blood, looked up at the sky as she tried to listen to what was happening around her. Finally she heard the soft paw steps of Hux approaching, just barely managing to catch the sound over the blood that roared in her ears. “Wouldn’t happen to know a Salutary, would you? I might just have to do.”Shikoba muttered “No, I don’t know any salutaries.” The tiny female felt the cobwebs pressed against her head, Hux’s paws applying pressure, she choked back a whine as he pressed a little too hard. She didn’t want to complain when he was trying to help so she suffered through it, refusing to let them know about the pain anymore than she had initially. @hux Kylo

Red and white hues were occupied with watching Hux bandage Shikoba's wound on her head, attempting to stop the blood from pooling into her eye when the sound of paws splashing in the mud took his attention. He turned a broad black cranium to see a white wolf charging after a squirrel that seemed to be out running them, distressed squeaks being screamed into the air as it ran from the predator. Alas it was not enough time for him to register that the female was about to crash into him and move out of the way accordingly. Brown, sticky mud flung on impact directly in Hux and Shikoba's direction while the Yukon's large ebony colored frame took the impact of the crash, still tumbling somewhat as a deep growl radiated from his chest. He untangled himself from the female and gained his footing in the slippery mud, spreading large black paw pads out as he stood straight, looking down at her with a burning, red hot fury in his eyes. It was then that her scent registered, it was so familiar Aloe vera and cucumber a scent he couldn't forget. Realization hit him like a charging elk and his eyes showed it, mere embers of the fire that used to burn within them. His stance relaxed as he heard her softer voice speak his name, marveling at the fact that it was not a curse when she said it, not a name uttered in the name of mercy. Kylo. He couldn't find the words that did not come, but this fact did not surprise him, the white female seemed to always have this kind of effect on him, it was only her, something about her, something about the mud that ruined the perfect pelt, how different it was from his own. He wondered what brought her here, to this muddy hellscape of a hunting territory. "What are you doing here?" he heard the sound rise from his chest but had no recollection of saying, the steady beating of a strong heart loud in his ears, it took a few seconds before he realized it was his own. Hux half expected a snarky response back, whether it be a biting retort that she didn’t know any salutaries or at the very least, a remark about his horrible healing skills but when he only got a monotone “No, I don’t know any salutaries.” he almost froze. Either Shikoba was knocked entirely out of it or she was in more pain than she was letting on. The initial hit got a shrill whine as expected, though Hux couldn’t gauge the pain she was feeling because she refused to show it. He lightened the pressure he was putting on the cobwebs, careful to cover every bit of her wound and nodded when he was satisfied with his work. Though, he heard the sounds of approaching pawfalls, he assumed Kylo would intercept. Mud flew through the air, splattering across his face. Hux immediately drew his muscles back, his maw set in a straight line, ears drawn back, and eyes clenched shut as the assailant covered his ginger fur completely, making it a mottled brown color before he used his paw to wipe the earth from his eyes. Aloe Vera and cucumber hit his senses and a low growl rumbled in his throat. He wondered if they’d ever meet the she-wolf who made Kylo’s knees weak again, however he had hoped they wouldn’t. As if they weren’t already completely off schedule, it’d take a grizzly bear to get Kylo moving again now that his sights were set on her. Emerald eyes opened, only followed by an eye roll. “Can’t even catch a measly squirrel and she still sets his damned heart ablaze.” He huffed. What brings you here? “Obviously hunting, you nitwit.” he snapped, turning back to check the bandages on Shikoba’s head. Luckily, it seemed his body took most of the assault.

Mace spectated patiently as his pupil got into position, waiting for her prey to appear. The squirrel appeared sooner than later, and upon first glance, Rey had the small rodent in her sights. The older male followed the action from the side, not close enough to disturb his apprentice, neither far enough as to not be able to see the entirety of the ordeal. With flawless technique, the white she-wolf leaped into the air, aiming for the squirrel-who in the last second seemed to notice, and proved to be faster than they could have anticipated. In that moment, Mace could feel her pressure, her need to prove her worth as she almost inmediatly got back on her paws and pursued the small animal yet again, this time without the element of surprise to her advantage. Picking up the pace behind them, the older male made sure to not miss any details of her hunt. The only one who wasn't fully focused on her surroundings was Rey herself though, as a tall and dark figure suddenly appeared in front of her, making both beings clash with one another. It turned out to be Kylo, the wolf they had encountered earlier in their path, part of that unscrupulous pack, led by that old motherfucker. The black young wolf wasn't on his own though, another member of Snoke's pack was accompaining them, alongside a she-wolf the grim male wasn't quite able to recognize. "The dead wolf's hounds, free at last" spit Mace, clearly not forgetting what had happened time before. "Tell me, how does freedom feel like?" Rey @hux Kylo @shikoba

Black fur turned to dark maroon underneath Hux’s cobweb bandage to stop the bleeding, she felt him lighten up the pressure and silently thanked her luck for him being at least somewhat perceptive of the pain she was in. She heard a thud, well more of a collision, and she tensed as she listened for a threat, but her brain was still foggy and everything else around her was hard to focus on. Hux’s voice sounded out above her as he asked this new wolf a question and she felt the frustration, more like annoyance radiating off of him, the tense feeling transferred through the pressure that Hux applied and Shikoba’s pain levels were still through the roof, though thankfully the sharp pangs from inside her skull were beginning to fade. Just as she was starting to acclimate to the sound and smell of the new wolf another one appeared, the anger coming off of him was not mistaken in the slightest, he had no hint of annoyance or frustration just palpable anger. Shikoba’s mismatched eyes saw nothing yet, her head still being treated by Hux who’s attention was now divided between helping her and the annoyance he felt at the two wolves who had just appeared. The small she-wolf’s own emotions began to show through, influenced by the wolf she had gotten along with most so far, Hux. Strict annoyance and frustration began to flow in waves off of her, “Alright listen up, I’m all for the happiness of meeting those you haven’t seen in a while. Well let me rephrase that, actually I couldn’t care less what you get up to in your own time, but how about you focus on getting this hole in my skull fixed before we begin to discuss what we’ve all been up to since we last saw each other. You’ve already pulled me off schedule to go and find a meal that almost killed me, the common courtesy would be to not bring your emotions into the mix while I’m bleeding out over here, thank you.” Shikoba was seething by the end of her little speech, whether she was making sense or not was irrelevant and she was almost certain that her words were slurred, but just getting it across to them that she was not in the mood was her only goal as of right now. @hux Kylo Rey Mace

Rey stood before the withered old wolf, her ragged breathing shattering the silence of the cold winter air as his piercing ice-blue eyes cut through her senses. One of his disciples shoved her exhausted body to the ground, her legs instantly giving out from beneath her and sending her crashing into the sharp cold embrace of the snowy ground. Rey dared to look up, to watch as his lips stretched into that disgusting smirk; a cat ready to pounce on his prey. But Snoke was not one to end things quickly, his mother hadn't taught him not to play with his food. "Well done, Kylo." She glanced back at the one who had brought her here, the one who had been sent to hunt her, the one who ignored her pleading with guilt hidden behind his eyes of swirling peppermint. "Please," she murmured for what felt like the hundredth time. "Kylo, please. You don't have to do this," a sharp contact struck her across her maw, a gasp escaping her while her vision spun as she tried to set her gaze on the elder that had abused her with little hesitation. "Silence," he hissed through yellowed teeth, "you and your master have been a nuisance to me and my plans for far too long now. I gave you a chance to join us, I offered to train you alongside my apprentice. Yet you so rudely declined before continuing to fight my reign." Snoke began, reminding her of the countless wolves that she and Mace had helped save from his tyranny. The minions that stood behind him sneered at her helpless body, each clearly as ready to rip into her as the next. But they couldn't do anything without their master's word, they were nothing but hounds in chains. "And for all of your trouble, you must die." Rey's sapphire eyes grew wide in horror as Snoke's hungry gaze shifted to Kylo. "My worthy apprentice, where there was conflict I now sense resolve, where there was weakness; strength. Complete your training and fulfil your destiny." The girl desperately looked up at the raven male as he positioned himself over her defenceless body. "Kylo," she mumbled, pleading with him to do what he knew was right. "I know what I have to do." He responded, a growl tearing through the still winter air before warm blood sizzled against the icy snow."What are you doing here?" Rey blinked, her head spinning as fast as the day he had spared her life, sapphire eyes locking against the red and white mixture of his own sights. The girl shook her head, trying to rid herself of the daze and the flashing memories that flooded her mind at the mere sight of him. She found herself scrambling to her paws, mud caking her once-pristine coat in patches that would be surely be a pain to remove. But she couldn't bring herself to worry about the filth that covered her, she was too busy looking between the black brute and his scrawny coy wolf companion—Hux, if she remembered his name correctly, a male that she had seen glued to Snoke's side during their many encounters. The sneering male looked anything but pleased to see her again. Rey would've shot him a scowl of her own if she wasn't absolutely transfixed by the fact that she had managed to literally run into the one wolf she hoped to never see again. Though something in her gut urged her that this was a false sentiment. "I could ask you the same thing." Rey finally replied to the question that had been asked, sapphire eye lingering on the ground between them, not wanting to look at him and be reminded of all the pain that he and Snoke's wolves had caused her and so many others. She had always assumed that Kylo would have taken his master's place within the group they had formed. It was what he had been training for, it was the power that came with that title that he had always seemed to crave.Yet here he stood, with one familiar face begrudgingly by his side will another stranger lay in their midst, clearly suffering from some kind of wound to her head. It wasn't long after she replied that Mace made his way onto the scene, Rey instantly taking a few steps away from the brute she had collided with to stand beside the mentor that had always made her feel safe. "The dead wolf's hounds, free at last. Tell me, how does freedom feel like?" The older male spat his remarks at the pair, clearly reliving the same memories as herself. Before anyone could make another remark, the unfamiliar she-wolf opened her mouth and released a drawling, slightly mumbled speech, obviously still suffered from whatever head injury called for the need of make-shift bandages. But she wasn't in the mindset to be paying much attention to someone she had no qualms with, despite her slight concern for the probable concussion that the stranger was most likely suffering from. She was only looking for a reply from one of the wolves that haunted her memories. Rey slowly lifted her gaze, daring to look her past in the face and hoping for some kind of explanation.

Soft white paws padded under the shade of a large pine tree. The needles from the great tree crunched underfoot and poked the pups paws. Pausing for a moment Aurora licked her front paws hoping to soothe the sores that started to appear on her feet. Stormy grey eyes surveyed her surroundings, she'd taken awhile to get here and was quite famished. The sight of a nearby squirrel was tempting to chase but she knew in her exhausted state that she would be more likely to eat dirt again. Squirrels were certainly not her thing. She continued trotting about looking for a decent place to rest and noticed what looked like a confrontation from afar and decided against introducing herself just yet. Giving the other wolves a wide berth she found a log that must've fallen ages ago the whole left side was a blackened mess but it would have to do. Anything would be better than the squishy dirt between her paws making her coat look more brown than white. Then she considered that maybe dirtying her coat was a good idea, it would keep her hidden better after all. Aurora found a little dip in the ground where more moisture seemed to gather and brushed her tail across it and giggled as she changed colors. She layed in the thick blackish mud and began to roll around in it until her appearance was that of a black wolf with fur plastered to her body making her look even smaller. She curled up in the dip under the log blending in perfectly with the mud and began to drift into an uneasy and exhausted sleep again. Let's hope for good dreams this time Kylo @hux Mace @shikoba Rey
