Rain nods some but sits down rather then go get something to eat right away. She saw the look Wingnut gave her at her question of how the hunt went. Obviously it was successful, they came back with a boar, she was asking if anyone was injured, like the last time they went out for something large. "The others did fine, they kept up and didn't have any problems that I could see." Rain would go on to say a few more words but stops and turns her head to face the new comer who decided to just walk into the camp, though they did howl a warning they were coming. Rain lets her eyes look over the new female as she spoke, looking at stance and body to see if they were ok to be there or even join. One who is thin and unable to help probably wouldn't be good for their small pack like group. It would slow them down and hinder them as the winter comes ever closer. As the new female speaks, Rain lets her eyes dart to Rowan to see his reaction to this female. Will he let her in or no? His answer it seems is to walk with her and ask her questions. Rain watches them for a few moments before going towards the boar and eating, like it was suggested earlier, since they seem busy now. Her gaze wanders towards where Wingnut went, watching as she eats. tags- Alpha Rowan @wingnut @dusty @joy @mint @niqu Scout Hye-Su ooc- yeah its short. just got back from work

As Eleven and Sollux made their way through the dried up grasslands, the small female stuck to her taller companions flank like a leaf to wet mud. The pained noises had stopped yet there was still something in the air. It was thick, a ghost in the breeze, it was forming clouds, it was... suffocating. Big brown eyes flickered to the source which only made coffee flecked with gold orbs bulge out of their sockets. Waves of yellow and orange, spreading fast through the dried, dead grass. Flickering tongue scorching and burning everything in its path, seeming to spread to the outskirts and not so much inland. Immediately the small frame shook, she had never encountered such a beast. It was wild, untameable and a killer. The air was thick with its scent of burning and death and El let out a small whimper that seemed to get stuck in her throat. For one moment, she was frozen as ice, a complete elemental opposite to the fire spreading before her. The next, she was was quick to take a dash. A second set of paws behind her indicated that Sollux was following her much to her relief. She darted to the only safety she had known for the past few months, a few gathering trees that had hollowed underneath by the roots. A place where she and her best friend had stayed. As they quickly sped through weeping plains and to their den-like home, Sollux had pushed Eleven in first before ducking in himself. Eleven shook violently, burrowing her face into her cream-coloured companion and whimpered loudly. A few sobs escaping her throat as tears sprung to her eyes. She was terrified, and although Sollux put on a brave face, even she could feel the quiver beneath his pelt. They were stuck, trapped. And the fire was fast approaching.
Addressed: @sollux , Alpha Rowan (?) OOC: Did the fire, not sure if Rowan wants to jump in and help out. I made sure to include the fire was only on the outskirts so your group doesn't have to move c: Sorry had to ghost Sol.

As Dusty watched from where he stood protectively over Joy, he noticed that the newly arrived female, Hye-Sue. She was factually very young. Around a year or so of age, but the expressions held on her face seemed very adult like and could trick any unobservant wolf into thinking that she were older. He pondered on the idea of having to watch her as well. She wasn't considered a pup anymore, more so a teenager. A teenager would still need proper guiding would they not? Though, this particular teenager specifically desired to follow Rowan. The reasoning behind it all was odd to the sandy male. The ashen female had no idea what Rowan was like and had just met him in a span of five or so minutes. If anything, the only thing she knew about him was his appearance. She had not a clue what his name was. It all seemed like an odd situation to the three year old. The way Rowan was handling this situation was ideal in Dusty's perspective. If he were in the same situation, he too, would have offered a piece offering to any newcomer. He was a kind soul after all. He was aware that not everyone would agree with the offering that Rowan had provided. It was also understandable, handing over a bit of the pack's hard earned kill to a stranger who had not helped in anyway with the hunt was kind of a nip in the rear. Especially to the one's who worked very hard and risked a fatal wound or even their life to feed their friends. However, everyone needed to look at it in a positive kind of way, at least he didn't give her the entire carcass, especially since this female seems so interested in the makeshift leader.
His thoughts came sailing down back into reality as he realized that Joy was gnawing on his legs. Her canines were starting to dig into the fur and threatened to poke through the skin. This didn't bother him in the least. It was incredibly cute, but he knew that this kind of behavior was not acceptable and most wolves would have grabbed hold of her muzzle with their own and let out a stern growl to discourage unacceptable conduct. Before he could begin talking to her about turning fellow packmates into chew toys, she had managed to pull herself free of his grasp. The custodian let out a gasp as she followed Wingnut out of camp. Mint didn't waste anytime and trailed right behind the two. Panic surged through his body. If he didn't get the two rowdy pups under proper control, Rowan could possibly look down upon him and view him as a wolf too irresponsible for the role of guardian. Not only that,if the pups wandered off and got themselves hurt or killed, the sitter would never be able to forgive himself. He sprung forward and bounded after the two little ones his tail quivering with anxiety
As he caught up with the others. His eyes were locked on the two he was supposed to be watching, ready to give them a light hearted scolding about running off. Peripheral vision caught site of something small. He turned to spot a smaller pup who was malnourished and lonely. The pup had clear visible signs that he was younger than both Joy and Mint. The guardian lowered his posture in a non threatening manner. His tail slowly waving and his tongue swiping over his muzzle in a soft, submissive manner. "Well, hello there little one. You look very hungry. All four of us would love it if you would come with us to fill your tummy and sleep in a warm den." The male's voice was soft and inviting. He did not want to scare this pup at all. He was so young and couldn't survive on his own even if he wanted to. It would have only been a matter of time before something larger than he decided to scoop him up into their claws. Both he and Wingnut wanted to bring this new find back to camp to fill himself up. Dusty planned on adding to his little pup parade and he was positive that neither Joy nor Mint would mind in the slightest. His low posture had more than one intention, if this little one decided that the four wolves around him were scary in anyway and decided to turn tail and flee; the dust colored male would be ready. His hind leg muscles were taught and ready to spring after the jeuvenile. If he didn't want to come back to camp to eat his fill, uncle Dusty would have no problem bringing the young one to camp by the scruff of his neck.

Niqo had been continuing with his failed attempts at survival when he heard footsteps break through his concentration. He turned, and saw a dark brown wolf appear from the brush. Niqo was a bit embarrassed he hadn't smelled them coming, or, now that he actually gets a good whiff, smelt the border markings and scents of other wolves. Standing himself up a bit straighter and puffing his chest out a bit in a formal manner, he took on a non-threatening stance, not wanting to offend the older and stronger stranger.
"Pup, come with me. I have food." Her voice was rather monotonous, and she was a complete stranger, but Niqo figured, 'eh, what the heck.' What did he have to lose? Besides, blood lingered on the stranger's muzzle, and as far as Niqo was concerned, that was good enough evidence for him.
"Oh, thank goodness," he says, his voice perky. He picks up a trot to go to her side, and walks with her in the direction she had pointed with her muzzle. Niqo could only assume it was a camp, seeing as the strongest cluster of scents was coming from that direction. "Embarassingly enough, I am quite hopeless when it comes to my own survival!" he says, his blue eyes gleaming up at the stern-seeming female.
Upon walking Niqo realized that this did, indeed, look like a camp. He even saw two pups waiting there. Not long after he noticed the pups, he noticed a dusty-colored male approaching him. This male assumed a posture that was welcoming and unthreatening, though Niqo was too hungry to be threatened by just about anything right now, as long as there was food around the corner. The stranger lowered himself, moving his tail in slow, sweeping motions as he opened his maw to speak.
"Well, hello there little one. You look hungry," right the stranger was on that one, "All four of us would love it if you would come with us to fill your tummy and sleep in a warm den." Niqo's very bright eyes gleamed even brighter, the blue in his iris seeming to shift as his eyes crinkled in a happy and grateful expression.
"After that statement, there will be no need to persuade me to come with you!" he says, the thought of a warm den (unused by badgers or bears) and a nice, fresh meal filling his mind. "I must say, thank you so much, your hospitality is astonishing," he says, his voice quipped with that quirky, beyond-his-years politeness. His brown tail begins to wag at the thought of a meal being so close.

The southernmost area of what natives called the "Brush Lands" rustled faintly, thin tongues of smoke being exhaled into the air from little fires burning themselves out, releasing their sooty, ashy smell. The plants were charred, damaged, but the brunt of the wildfire had left this area alone. All was quiet and slow. A day like this, you'd expect to be muggy and hot, but with fall here, the weather was becoming more brisk and cool.
Suddenly, a large form burst onto the scene, climbing over a gentle hill. With heaving sides, the male wolf pushed on, not feeling his legs pound the dirt, numb as they were with exhaustion. The brute had great endurance and stamina, but the past half hour of desperate escaping had taken its toll. At least it wasn't hot.
Ezaryth, for it was he, glanced back over his shoulder. The small group of pursuing wolves had, for some reason, fallen back, and were now howling obscenities at him. Too glad to be out of their clutches, Ezar disregardes that he may be heading into danger, and slowed his pace, still continuing north.
As soon as his grey eyes could no longer find the specks of retreating wolves, the brute exhaled explosively, his legs shaking and weak. The muscles had no feeling now, but Ezar knew that come morn, they would be sore. The tawny male relaxed his jaw and let the scrap of a dead rabbit drop from his jaws. Gazing down upon it, he was filled with a sense of despair, and collapsed.
Times in the south were hard. The land used to be fertile, teeming with life and prey. Then, perhaps because of this predator-attracting area, the south forest had slowly dwindled, a famine coming to the land, perhaps because of the sudden boom in wolf population. The prey populations simply could not meet the demand, and a great Starve had descended. An afternoon hunting lazily used to fill his belly, but now, several days could go by without a scrap of food. Ezar looked down at his ribs, which weren't too prominent, but getting there. He shifted his gaze to the scrap of meat. The dismembered rabbit was his only food in days, and a scraggly, shifty group of wolves had almost stolen it from him.
If he had been stronger, and more versed in the art of fighting multiple wolves at once, Ezaryth would have given them a good whupping and sent them on their way. But he was weak, battered by sudden food withdrawl, and knew that if he picked a fight, he would probably die, and the rogue group would eat him and his morsel, too.
Looking around quickly, the male scarfed down the rabbit, crunching bones for marrow, and even eating the dirty fur. Hopefully, now in this new territory, marked with scents of whole new wolves, he could start to build back his muscle.
The hope was short-lived. As soon as his sinuses were cleansed of the stringy rabbit smell, his nose detected something horribly panic-inducing: ash and smoke. Bolting upright, the male gave an involuntary "ummfh!" of strain, and started stiffly walking away from the smell, deeper into the Brush Lands. His flight from the south had obscured his senses from the fire, but now, he could sense the damage.
His nose touched a flame-scarred plant. Cold and dead, it flaked to bits at the touch, falling to the ground. The fire had already burnt here, but it would've been small, perhaps made by a larger fire somewhere to the west. That's where the strongest, freshest ashy smell originated from, anyways. Ezaryth slowly limped north and slightly east, straying into the middle of the Brush Lands. His hope came back with the sight of a ground mouse, scurrying past his paws bravely. Ezar did not attempt to catch it, for when his brain suggested that he should move to intercept its path, the rodent was already gone. That was probably symbolic of something. The brute huffed, his amused nature coming back, and lifted his head to look ahead.

The adults reacted to how she expected; those in charge of pups blocked them from her view, while those with more authority trained their optics on her. But her guess of who the ultimate leader was indeed correct. Those who allowed her to speak had turned their heads to cyclopse, awaiting his approval or denial. However, she was not expecting him to question her right off the bat. Still young, still inexperienced was her only excuse for being slightly caught off guard. Of course, being accepted wouldn't be easy, she just hoped he did not question her about anything too difficult.
Following behind him, her small paws making little to no noise as her body moved like a shadow behind his giant form. "I'll try not to get too personal," his words had her shifting her weight from side to side as she felt like a bright light was pointed down at her. What about her could make him want to ask anything to personal, even his tone of voice seemed to be slightly guarded while remaining friendly. "But I have wolves I've promised to protect. I can't risk jeopardizing their safety. There's a few things that I'd like to know. - Feel perfectly free to answer impersonally, no need for elaborate detail. The first thing I need to know if you are currently fleeing away from wolves of any kind; a pack, a single rogue, anything. The second thing is any formal skills you can possibly contribute to the group - and if the answer's none, we can fix that -The third is why you came. What brought you to us?"
Each of his questions made sense, but what had her blood turning cold was how she looked over the fact about her abrasion and the possibilities of her family coming after her. Hye-Su was not an asset, not to them. However, her brother was known for holding grudges. Would he come after her? Plum eyes starred intently at the ground, her own wide optics seeming to be searching for an answer. Mouth opened slightly, as if she was caught off guard. Finally, coming to terms with her mistakes, her face became blank once more, only emotion being read through her eyes.
"I understand your worry, I am not fleeing from anyone, not anymore. They are not chasing me and will not be a thread to you and yours," she spoke softly, voice even and decisive, words trimmed for profession. "I have been trained in pack politics, hunting and fighting strategies, and self control," she tried not to bring up the fact that her family had refused to teach her any physical skills, only the art of words. Flicking her tail, she finally looked up from the ground to answer his last question. "You are the first group I have stumbled upon, scents are still rogue but mingle together as one, a large rogue grouping that has structure, claimed land, and bonds is the place I want to be, where I can learn the skills that was refused to me," she finally finished, eyes once again blazing with firm determination. Almost as if she wouldn't take no for an answer.

The hog stained she-wolf watched the emaciated pup before her. She was looking for signs of the flight instinct kicking in. A flick of a tail, a shift of his paws, either would get her ready to run. Yet none came. "Oh, thank goodness! Embarassingly enough, I am quite hopeless when it comes to my own survival!" the pup barked. Odd. This pup seemed quite posh, quite literate and polite for such a young male. She felt a small bit of respect for the pup. Both of the two pups back at the camp were too jovial, or too unable to properly speak. As he marched away from her towards the camp, she followed suit silently, ready to give any directional advice if the prim and proper pup needed it. As they got closer to the camp, Dusty sprang out from the bushes with Joy and Mint in tow. "Well, hello there little one. You look hungry. All four of us would love it if you would come with us to fill your tummy and sleep in a warm den." the guardian barked, his chipper personality shining through. It seemed more likely that Dusty could have persuaded the pup to come to the camp, but her monotonous promise of food seemed enough. It was a waste of air to bring up the topic of food again to the pup, but the promise of shelter was new, and she could find use in the "After that statement, there will be no need to persuade me to come with you! I must say, thank you so much, your hospitality is astonishing," the pup barked out as the group of four trotted back to camp. When they arrived, she noticed that the boar was still mostly intact, and Rowan and the new Hye-Su were still gone. She could scent her Alpha and the newest possible member of her pack over in the nearby grasses, and with the absence of the scent of wolf blood, she could safely say that a fight hadn't broke out between them. Trotting over to the boar, she ripped off a series of thin strips of meat. She placed them down beside the slab that Rowan ripped off earlier, making sure that there was enough meat to feed the three pups. "Eat," she barked, turning away back to the boar. She had caught it, and her consumption of the boar had been delayed twice. Once due to Hye-Su's sudden appearance, and once due to her scouting mission for the pup. She needed to learn his name still. That would wait until after she had some meat to eat. Padding over to the hairy beast, she dug her teeth into the boar's flank. Digging them in deep, she used her paws to give her leverage as she ripped a large portion of muscle. With a grunt, she walked her portion back over to the pile of meat she had added to for the pups. As they ate, she would eat with them, watching for the reappearance of Rowan from the grasses so she could relay to him the result of her mission. Protecting the pups wasn't her primary objective, but keeping the newest member of the group safe as well as the youngest members of the group was no doubt a part of her new rank of Beta. Finally sinking her teeth into the boar with the intent to consume, Wingnut began to eat, her amber eyes flicking between the pups and the patch of grass that she knew Rowan was currently residing in. Seymour looked towards the female and felt a wave of relief wash over him as she said that it was alright. Although he knew that maybe she was just saying that to have him let his guard down so she could attack, he could tell by her demeanor that she simply was being nice. Maybe she knew that he was sincerely sorry, and hopefully he would manage not to make her upset any more than he maybe already had. As she asked what had him in a hurry, he looked towards her with a confused look. Did it seem like he was in a rush? He hoped not. Looking behind him to see if there were any other wolves around, he noticed that there weren't any currently near. "Well I was just wanting to find a place where I could rest and eat my kill," He said looking towards her with ghostly white eyes.
Maybe he could offer her the rabbit and go catch one for himself. Maybe that would make up for him running into her. Thinking it over slightly, he took the rabbit from behind his paws and nudged it towards her. "If you want, you can have this, I can always catch another one after all," He said, looking towards the beautiful lupine standing in front of him. He knew that a peace offering of food was always the best thing to help resolve conflicts, and create friendships between two wolves, and hopefully he could befriend this wolf. "Can I ask your name?" He enthusiastically added to offering his kill to her. He wanted to get to know her, and hopefully he would be able to convince her to maybe spend a little time getting to know him as well. The awkward male shuffled his feet a bit, wondering what she was going to say.

R A I S A Rogue
Everything seemed to pass by in a flash and before Raisa knew it, she was back with the rest of the group where there was a killed boar ready to be eaten. Of course, she would wait for the others to eat before she even thought about it, but the one dusty-colored male that was rather inviting towards the pups caught her eye. She definitely knew that she wanted to talk to him, so without any hesitation, she approached him and gave a smile as her beautiful white figure slid its way into his vicinity. "Hi," She said with a simple greeting and a beautiful smile curled upon her face. "I don't think I caught your name before, and if I did, I seem to have forgotten," She said with a small giggle, looking towards the male. "How was hunting?" She asked, looking towards him with keen rose colored eyes. Starting conversation was the best thing that Raisa could do to get to know this male, and she hoped maybe she wasn't coming off too strongly when it came to trying to get to know him. She wanted to get to know all the other wolves there as well, but the sand-colored wolf had definitely caught her eye.

The female who had first found him guided over to just where his nose had wanted to take him. A large boar with plenty of meat on it lay on the ground, just waiting to be tucked into. However, he remained controlled and civilized, he would hate to be seen as otherwise. He was waiting for her invitation to eat when the dark she-wolf began to tear off a few thin strips of meat, well, still the perfect size for a pup. She lay them down beside a much bigger piece that had been ripped off, presumably for an adult.
"Eat," she says. There was the invitation. He modestly stepped forward and ate just his share, presuming the rest was for the other pups here.
As he ate, the female took to the boar herself and had her own share. She brought it over so as to eat with the pups, which surprised Niqo a bit, as she didn't seem the eat-with-the-pups-of-the-pack type. Well, he supposed he could not judge a book by its cover. However, he could judge that she seemed to be an authoritative figure, with the way she carried herself, and with the way others seemed to look at her in camp. Probably well-respected, and no doubt she had earned it and her status. Niqo was eager to find out more about this she-wolf and her role in the pack, as well as her skills. That sounded weird, he realized, and went back to minding his own business.
She had reminded him of someone in his old pack, however. A female who was sentinel, and took her role very seriously. Sometimes it appeared she cared more about her sentinel duties than the pack itself, but at times it would become apparent she really did have a place in her heart for her pack. Shaking away his old memories as he began to remember other old pack-members, he sat quietly, not sure of what he should do now, waiting for any sort of instruction. This was perhaps the most confusing part of meeting and joining a group of wolves, wondering what he was to do and figuring out the flow of life here.

"Well I was just wanting to find a place where I could rest and eat my kill," he speaks, meeting Cersiren's warm amber eyes with his own strangely-colored pair. He nudges the rabbit whose scent had been making Cersiren's mouth water out from under his legs and towards Cersiren, and she raises her brows, wondering if he is about to offer it to her. If you want, you can have this. I can always catch another one, after all. Can I ask your name?" Cersiren gives a small smile. Enthusiasm was refreshing, as was the interaction with another wolf. In regards to his proposed gift, while being a humble wolf, Cersiren had never been the type to turn down gifts unless it was obvious someone was remorseful about letting it go, and especially seeing as she could use a meal right now, she was not about to turn it down and go back to failing at catching her own meal.
"Thank you," she says, stepping forward to drag the rabbit towards her own self, showing her acceptance of it. "Hunting is not my strong suit." She looks up at him to meet his eyes once again. "My name is Cersiren (pronounced sehr-sir-(like, hello sir)ehn). May I ask yours?" she says calmly, as the pleasant-seeming male shuffles his feet. She was certainly glad he was generous, enough so as to give her his kill. However, she had no doubt he would be able to get another meal, as she saw no lie in him saying he could, and she saw the obvious abilities of a hunter in his build and the lean muscles under his coat.
She, however, was built for neither fighting nor hunting. She had once had the well-filled-out frame of a well-cared-after wolf in a large pack, and especially when she had been pregnant just a couple short months ago, she had been very well filled out. Now, she had begun to lose a few of the pounds, and was looking a tad more like a lone wolf than a well-fed pack wolf, with a couple well-healing wounds (thanks to her healing skills) on her body, whereas before she had not a scratch upon her pelt. However, she was still visibly more filled out than other lone wolves (though she was not overweight or fat), but she expected that to not last long if she could not improve her hunting skill and continued to eat as little as she was now. Her strength definitely did not lie in hunting, nor fighting, though it did lie in healing and identifying plants and anything medical. What she would give for an opportunity to go back to her work, helping females birth or healing injuries, just to feel useful.

Twizzle
The chocolate Lupine strode forward toward the expanded group, yellow ochre gaze swiftly examining the newest member as his long limbs pulled carried him forward. He appeared to be a young pup, around the age of their current brood, which could make adjusting to life in a large, structured group easier. Twizzle moved his gaze away as he approached, instead looking futilely for the head honcho. The silver and caramel cyclops didn't appear to be anywhere near by, and his absence led to questions arising in Twizzle's head. But the lithe wolf didn't dwell on them as he to a halt among the wolves, tongue swiping along his lips to wipe away specks of blood.
With a gentle nod and slight smile toward the newcomer, Twizzle turned toward his sister and the other adults, ears perking atop his head as he worked to catch their attention. "I apologize for how long the hunt took. We were successful, however, Chipara chose to leave after taking his portion of the boar." The milk chocolate wolf swished his scrawny tail from side to side as he spoke, allowing a pause between his words. "The boar isn't far away but if you see it necessary, a couple of us could move it closer." He didn't bother to ask about the absent Rowan or the multiple new scents crowding among the wolves. He could question someone after everything had been dealt with.

The chocolate bitch chewed slowly on her chunk of boar. The rest of the scouting party and hunting party were trickling back into the den area. First came Raisa, the pale she-wolf that Wingnut hadn't interacted with much. There was hardly time to participate in such useless actions. Raisa had arrived, and almost immediately, the group was split up into hunting and scouting. She was a ray of sunshine, a ball of positive emotions, something that Wingnut knew well enough to not deal with. "Hi, I don't think I caught your name before, and if I did, I seem to have forgotten! How was hunting?" the pale she-wolf yipped as she placed herself next to Dusty. Wingnut didn't pay much attention to the pair. The question wasn't directed towards her, and Raisa seemed to have the same vision impairment as Rain when she had arrived back. The hunt was a success. There were only minor injuries. To her eyes, it screamed success. "I apologize for how long the hunt took. We were successful, however, Chipara chose to leave after taking his portion of the boar." Her brother's arrival shifted the newly unofficial Beta's attention away from the pups and her meal. Pity. The orange male was the only wolf in this group that was of any interest to Wingnut. With his linear thinking, his logical approach, they likely would have got along. That would be a sight to see. "The boar isn't far away but if you see it necessary, a couple of us could move it closer," the information she was waiting for left Twizzle's lips. Swallowing the last chunk of pork, Wingnut rose to her paws silently, gesturing with her tail for Twizzle to come with her. She approached the boar, analyzing the corpse to find the best way to drag it back to camp. It was evident that the method used by her, Dusty, and Rowan would also prove effective here. Having elected to tow the head with her pair's boar, Wingnut moved to the flank of the boar. Her teeth locked into the flesh closer to the center of the tail of the boar, not wanting to put her face so close to the rear end of a dead boar as Dusty seemingly had. Waiting for her brother to lock his teeth into the head of the boar, or if he didn't, at least for him to do so after she flicked her tail towards the colossal head, Wingnut prepared her muscles to pull. As soon as Twizzle was comfortable, Wingnut heaved backwards, yanking the boar a few inches at a time beside her brother until it finally ended up a few feet from the first boar. Her chest heaved, but still no spark lit up behind her eyes. It was a job done. Nothing to be proud of. Finishing a task was a basic element of daily functioning that didn't need any applause. As she returned, she spotted the lack of food in front of some of the wolves. "Eat," she blandly barked again, this time aiming it at the adults. There was plenty of food, and Rowan wanted them to eat. Not to mention that it was a necessary action to continue to survive in the cooling weather. Tearing off another, smaller chunk of boar, she returned to the pups, her gaze one again glued on the grasses where Rowan resided while her ears stayed on the rest of the wolves and their surroundings.
