Hello everyone!
I have been asked countless times about aging and time-skips. So, I've put together a little FAQ focused on these topics.
A. Yes and no. No, you may not age up nor age down your character at your leisure. If you'd like to do that, you can purchase an age-up/age-down in the shop. Otherwise, we offer characters a free age-up after every change of season. Members can then decide whether or not they want to age their characters, and how much (between 6 months and 1 year).
Q. WHEN IS IT OKAY TO AGE-UP WITHOUT PURCHASING FROM THE SHOP?
A1. If your character has gone through a time skip of 6 months or more, you can age your character accordingly.
A2. If your character has concluded a major plotline that has taken some time, you can ask a staff member to age your character up (usually 6 months).
A3. You can freely age from pup to teen (from β3 months to β1.5 years), and from teen to adult (from β1.5 to β3 years). This usually coincides with timeskips and plot changes.
Q. CAN I AGE MY CHARACTER DOWN?
A. The only way to age your character down is to purchase an age-down from the shop.
Q. CAN I CHANGE MY CHARACTER'S AGE IF I HAVEN'T YET STARTED ROLEPLAYING?
A. You can change anything about your character before you make your first post, but any changes will have to be approved by staff. If you're changing from an adult to a teen, for example, you will probably need to write a new backstory and appearance description, as well as provide a new image.
A. A time-skip is when a character, or a group of characters, decides to move forward in time. This happens to conclude/advance plotlines, to skip gestation periods, etc.
Q. HOW LONG CAN A TIME-SKIP BE?
A1. Minimum: There is no minimum, but there's really no point in doing a skip if it's less than 1-3 months.
A2. Maximum: Any skip over 6 months should be approved by staff, and skips cannot exceed 1 year.
Q. HOW OFTEN CAN I TIME-SKIP?
A1. As often as you want, kind of*
A* This has never been a problem, but if you are abusing time skips so you can quickly age your character, staff just wont age-up your character.
Q. WHO DOES MY TIME-SKIP AFFECT?
A1. For individuals roleplaying alone: Only yourself. Nobody else in the thread you are in will be effected. Time will go on for them.
A2. For groups: Everyone in your group, if you've all agreed. If somebody doesn't agree, you either cannot do the time-skip, or they must leave the group. Time cannot flow differently for different individuals within the same roleplay scene. Make sense?
A3. For packs: Same as A2, but the pack members can't object. The alpha(s) makes the executive decision to do a skip, and for how long.
Q. HOW DO I DO A TIME-SKIP
A1. First, if it's over 6 months, PM me and ask if it's ok. If I say yes, go to A2. If it's under 6 months, go right to A2.
A2. Similar to an "--exit--" statement, at the end of your last post before the time skip, OR at the beginning of your first post after the time skip, simply write "Timeskip: x months" at the top! Then continue with your plotline.
Q. HOW DO I TIME-SKIP IN A GROUP?
A. Follow the same steps above. Everybody in the group must put the "Timeskip: x months" in their post.
A* In a pack, one alpha puts the "Timeskip: x months" in their post. Pack members are not required to put it in theirs, but they may.
This is because in a pack land, time flows the same for all pack members. This is not true for the rogue lands.
Q. IF I AM PART OF A TIME-SKIP DO I HAVE TO AGE UP MY CHARACTER?
A. Nope! You are free to age your character the amount of time that has passed, but you are not required to.
