Persona: Strict. Determined. No funny business. Topaz is the living definition of authority. With a serious, curt attitude, the brute is quite grumpy. Short-tempered, but wise. The spitfire of a wolf at one point made a good mentor towards his younger sibling, gentle, and kind. Perhaps that side of him still lurked within his now cold depths? Most of his speech is laced with sarcasm, cruel and insulting. Rarely will the wolf say something genuinely kind. Preferring the dominant side, instead of submitting to an authority figure, the male would instead turn away in a huff, but sulk back later in a private apology. Prideful, and powerful, the handsome male does not pity the weak, believing you make your own way in the world. But, with whatever shred of kindness he still grips, reluctantly, the wolf will extend a helping paw. Despite all this, the brute is rather intelligent. Perhaps it was because of the pack Salutary taking a liking to him, but Topaz had months to focus on being clever, and predictive - before he even had to worry about becoming strong. Due to this, the male excels in fighting more than hunting, calculated moves combined with brute strength give him a hefty upper ‘paw’.

Appearance: Well muscled, and lean, the handsome male stands at a tall 3'4. His weight comes to an even 110, and a length of 5'4. His fur is similar to the hues of the forest, though more vibrant browns, and tans. Hooking around on either side of his neck, and running along his back and torso are charcoal stains, along with a black hued line running up the back of his head, and down his forehead in a straight line. His back flaunts a mesmerizing feather-like pattern, of contrasting black and whites. His paws, and upper legs are a creamy white, to contrast his ink tipped tail. As the beast moves, even through his thick and plentiful fur (Which can become a nuisance in the summer.) muscles can be seen. Like most rogues, Topaz suffers from slight malnutrition, but nothing to obvious. Due to his bulky size, Topaz isn’t the quickest wolf, but still has enough speed to aid him in hunting. The wolf was named after his bright yellow/orange eyes.

Biography: Sheltered in a cave at the base of a mountain laid a litter of 2, a male (Topaz), and a female (Naia). The two young wolves were merely 2 months old when their mother left, taking their eldest, and largest sibling with her. Uneducated, and untrained, the two pups were brought out to the pack by the newly announced Delta, who searched for someone to take on the two pups. Steller, the pack Salutary, quickly volunteered, taking Topaz and his sister under his wing. Naia quickly became invested in herbs, constantly studying under Steller, and sorting out whatever she could get her paws on. Topaz, on the other hand, was uninterested in learning about remedies, despite his little sister’s pleas. The young brute would sit by the entrance of the Salutary den, watching the higher-ups converse, and the General teach the Omegas, and Warriors. Topaz listened as the Sentinel reported to the Alpha, and how she gathered up the Hunters to go off into the territory. They often brought back a deer, where the large-for-his-age male would pick off his section, and savour every bite. Of course, he did take his lessons from Steller very seriously. While the older male didn’t bother trying to teach him about herbs, he instead focused on the little things. Like predicting your enemies next move in a fight, or stalking upwind vs. downwind on your prey. Day by day, Steller took time out of teaching Naia herbs, - leaving her with the responsibility of restocking - and instead focused on teaching Topaz patience, how to regain stamina, and how to deliver more efficient movements.

Of course, there came a day where Topaz lost his beloved mentor. In fact, the Salutary wasn’t the only wolf lost. It was a peaceful day, a day to celebrate Naia and himself moving up from the rank pup. Topaz had been named Paladin, working right under his pack’s general. His sister was named Salutary, as Steller stepped down from his rank, and instead became the pack’s Guardian. But, as everyone was settling in to eat their share of the hunting party’s kill, the thick scent of humans hit the clearing. Initially, this was of no concern. They smelt the creatures often, and saw them on occasion. The odd beings never got to close, so the wolves had no reason to hate them, besides for trespassing. But this was different. Topaz watched as Naia, Steller, and their Alpha grew rigid, yelping as a odd object hit their torso. Jumping up with surprise, the caramel hued wolf watched as they became drowsy, he could see his own bewilderment reflected in his own packmate’s eyes. Quickly, the scent of humans became thicker, closing in. Though no more wolves were hit with those odd darts, all Topaz could do was run. Leaving the territory, he was accompanied by a scrawny Omega, who soon said farewell, and headed for a more muddy terrain, mentioning something about smelling a pack. Topaz frowned, but didn’t follow his companion, and kept walking in solitude.
