DESCRIPTION. The mountains were greatly unscathed by the fires. While most of the vegetation on the outskirts of the mountain peak had been singed away, a greater majority of the trees were protected by the snow and were left unscathed. The mountain is dotted with interesting features such as a cave system and a river running through the territory. The snow is ever present, even in summer due to the cooler climate in the higher altitude. The Burnt Plains border these mountains via a cave system, so Mortiul and Ignasia are never too far from one another.

|Timeskip Two Months||
Hellfire orange eyes open a mere sliver in the dark confines of a den, two stirring bodies rousing Vivaldi from slumber. The Mortiul Alphess raises her head and lets loose a low rumble - not quite a growl, but still a noise of displeasure warning the pups against her side to settle. It was barely morning, and her sons were mistaken if they thought she would be losing sleep at their whims. Lowering her cranium back to her paws, she mulls over the events of the last two months as she slips into a light doze.
When Adramalech had spoken of new territory, of claiming lands of their own, she had to admit she had expected something lusher. The optimist in her - small they may be - had pictured something altogether more green. However, loathe as she is to admit it, the mountainous ranges that her pack now roamed had made her feel more at home than any place she had wandered previously. The alabaster bitch had spent many a month traversing the mountain ranges before she had been accepted under Adramalech’s command, the thin air and uneven ground as familiar to her as an old friend. Had it not been for the life contained in her womb at the time, she may have even enjoyed the journey up here. However, instead of leading the two groups forward with Adramalech’s inner circle as was her right, she had found herself somewhere tucked in the middle, uncharacteristically short of breath and frequently stopping to be sick. It had been irritating, and the mother is convinced that it was sheer force of will that had sent her into labor almost the moment they had set foot in the new commons.
The cultists had separated from the main group to find their own home, but Marusya had permitted Xalie stay behind to assist Vivaldi with her labor. Swept into a cavernous cave separate from the one connecting the two groups, the frosted female had given birth to six pups - six squirming bodies, helpless and wholly dependent on her. And, when the rest of Mortiul clambered in behind her, she had snarled and bid Xalie help her carry her offspring into a separate chamber, isolated from the rest of the world. No sooner had she settled, she noticed that one of the babes - the one that had been shivering most violently - shivered no longer. Neither did it twitch, or breath.
She bid Xalie take it away.
When two days later, there lay two more still bodies at her breast, she had bristled, and called for Xalie once more. However, it was not the red face of the resident alien that appeared at her den, but the pale one of their newest member - the male that had declared himself to her. Had it not been for the children at her side she would have surely lunged at him for daring to disturb her; but as it was, he had reported that Xalie (and Suki) had left in the night, seen by no one since.
This - this had brought some grief. Not for the fox-faced alien; she had no connection to her. But to hear that Suki - the bubbly and altogether crazed female that had been her first friend among these wolves - had departed? With nary a word to Vivaldi, nary a glance at her own offspring? This brought something like sadness, along with no shortage of anger. That had been a bond she was eager to covet, thrown away as easily as carrion.
As it was, the bitch had Silas take her dead pups away.
Two weeks had passed, and one more pup had lost its life to the frigid cold. Winter was unforgiving, but especially in the mountains, and it seemed that the ice was determined to claim every one of her progeny. It was with a feverous air about her that she cared for her two remaining pups (a black one with soulless white eyes, a white one with Adramalech’s gaze staring back at her). Every soul that dared to try and enter her den was sent away with snarls and unforgiving lashes of her claws; there had even been an occasion in which she had sent Adramalech himself away. However, it had appeared that these two were strong enough to make it through, and so - so she gives them names.
Leyak and Aamon. The future kings of Mortiul. How poetic.
Now, at two months, the babes had finally began to show slivers of personality. Leyak seemed to be the more dominant of the two, leading his brother to and fro about the den. Aamon himself hardly uttered a word, or emitted expression, but this didn’t bother Vivaldi in the least. A stoic boy who knew better than to cry for her attention? Perfectly ideal. With a barely audible sigh, she pushes herself to her paws, giving a languid stretch and clearing any debris from her scarred pelt. Eyeing the two boys critically (fur clean enough, already fed) she gives a slow smile. She supposed it was high time the pair were introduced to their father - and the rest of Mortiul. Lowering her head, she nudges the babes to their feet, lip curling back in the case of any protest. “Get up,” she commands, tapered ears flicking. “We’ll be leaving the den today - and you will be meeting your father.”
It is with her pups close at her heels that she exits her little side den and enters the main cave, head up and tail casually erect. It had been some time since she had really stretched her legs, and she feels like a new fucking wolf without the extra weight attached to her belly. After this business was done, she would leave Aamon and Leyak in Silas’s care. She would of course observe their treatment for a moment, but afterwards...well, it was high time she acquaintanced herself with the rest of the territory. But, for now, there were things to do.
Approaching the raven-pelted brute she called Alpha, she would run her cheek briefly down the side of his neck in greeting, before drawing their sons forward to stand before him. “Adra,” she would utter, shortened name making an appearance to reflect her good mood, “These are your sons. Leyak,” she gestures to the white babe with her tail, “and Aamon.” A nod to the other. “Already Leyak shows signs of being an intelligent leader - and his brother a faithful soldier. I believe we can expect great things from them.” She allows a wry smile to grace her lips. “Given the right training, of course.”

ROGUE SILAS
Silas had been by Vivaldi's side or within her immediate vacinity for just under two months. He only left at the orders of another superior or an errand for her. He never cared that he didn't sleep in his own den, but outside mere feet from her entrance. He never cared that he ate last because he chose to remain an omega and slave to her. He now never cared that he saw less of her because she stayed in the den with her pregnancy.
At last, he did care for the pups birth. Not because they were not his, but four of the six pups had died. He had to take away three of them. He was said to see her spawn lost and he wondered how hurt she was over their loss. By her composure he would guess she only hated that they no longer would provide for her pack. He would agree, but what he realized she was more upset about was the disappearance of Suki. The white bitch had acted strange the day before, seeming to have grown ever paranoid at those around them. And by the way Beel had been acting, he wondered if the brute had something to do with it? Although, Silas never cared for the others and he only listened to gossip if it was in earshot.
While Vivaldi had been upset with Suki, Silas had regretted not getting his fangs into the wretched fox. A word on the grape vine that she might have caused harm to an Ignasian litter, whether or not that was true he was not sure. But with four out of six pups dead, and then another possible littered harmed made her look very suspicious. He would have had her tried for her misdeeds, shouldn't she have been able to prevent the pups deaths? Shouldn't she be held responsible? He let out an irrational snarl, teeth clacking, an echo through the cavern.
Eyes caught movement and he stood with a box as Vivaldi exited, accompanied by a yin and yang. He would wait for 15 paces before following after. Silas had learned that this was the closest he could get to her without being snapped at. If she did seem particularly irritable he would wait 20 paces, but she seemed happy so he felt comfortable at 15. Looking to the two quickly following he gave a small smile, they were cute.
He stopped 30 paces away from Vivaldi as she approached Adramalech. He preferred to keep his distance. He also preferred to keep his eyes averted. He honestly had nothing against the coal colored brute, he was jealous of his strength and leadership skills. However, he averted his gaze because to see Vivaldi pay attention to the male made him both furious and hurt. To see her to touch another made his blood boil but he would remain calm, because his only shot of every being able to touch her was to play by her rules.

Alpha Adramalech of Mortiul | ||Time Skip 2 Months||
The journey had been long, and it brought them to somewhere he found ideal for training the best wolves. A mountain range. With the mountains came food that took more effort to catch, as well as a nice and secluded area where they would not be bothered and could conduct their plans properly. Along the journey, they had faced blizzards, and Vivaldi seemed to have trouble keeping up with the front of the pack. The male understood, her belly was swollen with many pups, and he could only stop the pack momentarily to help her. The male, although stoic and seemingly emotionless, had come to at least care for the she-wolf that bore his young. It wasn’t quite a romantic feeling, no. It was simply just one of knowing that she would make or break the future of the pack with the beings that she carried within her. He would stay with her when she was sick along the journey, although being a few feet away as to give the she-wolf space. But he would ultimately slow his own pace so that he was indeed able to keep an eye on her, much to her disdain. During the journey as well, they had lost Bellatrix, the female that he intended to simply make a breeder to produce more offspring for their coming army that will provide them with the ability to take over the packs that lay in waiting at the bottom of his mountains. But, the female seemed to have been separated during a blizzard, having lost her way, and no one caring to try and find her. It was how things happened, and even if she would warn the other packs, her words would be disregarded completely. She didn’t seem like the type to be soft and warn others of their impending doom, but she may have had a change of heart. Who knew.
Once they had reached their new territory, he picked an open area for their commons. Upon reaching the territory, Vivaldi seemed to have enough of carrying the pups inside of her, and almost immediately went into labor. Xalie, having taken on the position of Salutary for their pack for the time being, assisted her and brought her to a cave where Vivaldi gave birth to the pups. Six pups he had heard. He had tried entering the den, but Vivaldi refused to let anyone see her besides the Shaman herself. Adramalech respected that, and therefore had not meddled much with the she-wolf and with the lives of his own pups. However, with the passing weeks, he noticed that the Shaman was visiting the she-wolf many times, often times bringing a tiny body out of the den. Winter was harsh, and he definitely did not think that their pups would all survive, but he didn’t expect them to lose as many as they had. Suki and Xalie had departed from the pack shortly after they had settled in. He had no clue as to whether or not their leaving was simply because they wished to betray himself and Koga, but he heard rumors floating that they both played parts in their need to leave. Betraying their packs would result in death if they were to ever come back. Which he knew the two were much smarter than abandoning a pack, and returning to it. Adramalech went about his business as usual, not having Vivaldi by his side making decisions seemed to leave a hole in the pack, but her return would be soon, especially with their pups nearing the age they needed to venture outside of the small cave they had resided in for the entirety of their lives.
He was currently standing atop the highest point in the commons, looking down on the wolves that would certainly be milling about. Black gaze lingering only mere moments on each figure. The approach of Vivaldi brought him by surprise as she brushed her head against his neck, a familiar gesture of greeting between the two of them. He offered her a nudge of his head on her shoulder in greeting. He noticed that two little bodies had followed behind her, now sitting at attention like good little soldiers. Leyak, she named the white one. He had black eyes like himself, but his mother’s appearance. Aamon was the second male’s name. He possessed his coat, but brilliant white eyes lay upon his face. The two couldn’t be more opposite, but they would provide a strong team for the future of Mortiul. Vivaldi reported their current attitudes, and Adramalech’s black optics looked over his sons. “They’re strong,” He said, looking towards her. “They will be Mortiul’s finest,” He stated, looking towards her with eyes that held little emotion, but enough to tell her that he was pleased with the outcome of their agreement. He bit his tongue as he was going to make a poor joke, but as he was looking over the little family they had, as dysfunctional as it was, he saw the lurking figure of a male that Vivaldi had accepted. A white male that stood away from them, watching them. No, he wasn’t watching them. His gaze was off in the distance, refusing to look in their direction. It must anger him, seeing that a she-wolf such as Vivaldi had produced his offspring, but Adramalech could care less. He made sure that he turned his back to the male, sweeping his tail over his pups to become them forward near the edge that he was perched on. “These are the wolves that you will rule in the future. Take notice of their weakness, emotional and physical,” He stated, looking towards the two. “To rule, you will need to know how to use these weaknesses against them if they ever become a handful,” His eyes lingered a bit before letting out a call for his brother. “It’s high time as well that you met your uncle,” He stated, looking towards Vivaldi to see her thoughts on the submit. Summoning Beelzebub was not hard, and he would more than likely bring his toy with him, which could lead to a first lesson for the two pups that were standing next to him.

Their travels were never simple, but this journey had been exceptionally brutal, even according to Adra’s standard. Winter storms ravished their ranks, severing the she-wolf Bellatrix from their group. No one grieved her departure. She was simply a womb to Adramalach, little more, and her infertility had rendered her effectively useless to him — a convenient loss, truthfully. A shame that she didn’t survive long enough to set eyes on the territory they’d selected. What a sight it was! Piercing, jagged peaks overlooking the four packs, a symbol of the future they’d soon possess, now closer than ever with the arrival of Adramalach’s offspring. Beel hadn’t yet had a chance to visit his nephews, far too enthralled in the incredibly enchanting process of patching the pierced wounds where his face had once been. Healing itself had been horribly slow, with one wrong twitch cracking any scant, course scabbing beginning to form. Yet now that his pink, gaping punctures had begun to grow back scarred white skin, he figured it was time he went. He didn’t mourn his change of appearance (although he did grieve the pleasantry of having two eyes and two ears). In fact, it suited him, a violent, torn visage displaying the dexterous brutality Mortiul wolves molded themselves by. What other form could fit a beta better than his? Languidly, he lifted himself from his slumber, cracking his clouded jaws in a yawn. First, he’d fetch his play thing, the only thing that had brought him some vague semblance of happiness on the entirety of that miserable journey — and then, his children, who’d had seemingly invested every scrap of energy into destroying it. One had fortunately died, a thin, pathetic thing that always been a bit on the weaker side, but he still had four to deal with, and Perci, Tern, Sauron, and Malphus were simply four mutts too many. Copper fur casually lapped over the den’s mouth, doubtlessly stuffed with their four listless forms. If no interventions were made, they’d spend the entire day there, less useful than a set of cold, stinking corpses. At least the corpses could provide their pack something of a meal: what could they do? Bitch their opponents to death? If that was their technique, it certainly seemed to be working; simply the smell of them was revolting these days. No better than their bitch of mother. “Oh Perci~~,” he sneered, his lips curled in a stiff arch. “I’d like you and your brothers to briefly consider being more useful alive than dead, but getting off of your asses seems to be enough of a challenge these days. For god’s sake, humor me and pretend you’re doing something productive.” If they showed any signs of heeding his instructions, he’d leave the lot be — but if he was ignored, he wouldn’t hesitate to sink his teeth into the nearest tail. With half of his errands handled, he turned his attention to the sparse outcropping where slaves were stored. Ronin, for now, was the sole inhabitant, but Beel didn’t mind. All that meant was he could further concentrate his efforts, flushing every flash of anger, boredom and frustration into one trembling, wide-eyed target. He never injured him, never truly lay waste to his form in the ways he’d whimsically fantasized of, but he’d obtained his own satisfaction. For two fantastic months, he’d starved him; ensuring little more passed his maw than stringy, gamy strips of meat, just the barest of necessities to keep him on his paws. Meat itself was in high abundance with Koa and Lilith around, but if Ronin wished to preserve whatever sort of sovereignty he felt he possessed, he knew he couldn’t even taste it. Although Beelzebub had suspected he’d snuck a strip behind his back, he’d never seen him personally eat the meat: a fact he felt was certain to change after today. Ronin was growing increasingly gaunt — as Beelzebub tasted the air, he caught the cusp of a vole’s scent — only to find his favorite plaything dozing by a burrow. Desperation was high. The resolve that remained would soon deplete. “Rise,” He rasped, stepping over his dozing form to jam a paw into the hole. A small, tiny sliver grazed sharp claws. Instinctively thrusting in deeper, a shrill frightened shriek drifted out. As he drew himself out, claws warily clutched, a thin vole thrashed against still air, desperate to be freed. He dropped him for a moment, toying with the wisp of life before snatching it up in his jaws and tenderly applying just enough pressure to crack its spine; not enough to kill it. “We’re expecting company.” He remarked, quietly relishing the squeaks of pain. “Adra’s pups, your future masters. Isn’t that exciting? Come along Ronin; you know Adra’s never taken kindly to tardiness.” With that, he ambled off; Ronin hopefully tracing his steps somewhere in the distance. He paused once he reached the mouth of Vivaldi’s den, waiting for a sign of Adra’s silent approval to proceed. “Hello little ones,” He purred as he dropped their dying vole. “I brought you a present. Two in fact. I hope you like them.” He watched them tackle their prey with quiet wariness, his golden, monocular gaze unmoving from Adramalach’s. “The second is waiting just outside. My own special toy, really, but he will do whatever you ask of him. I’ll make sure of that. If you want him to jump, he’ll jump, howl, he’ll howl, and so on. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to get a little bit creative!”“You’ve charming sons.” He remarked once the pups were well out of earshot. “I wish I could say the same of mine. They’re all just like their mother — I’m sure I don’t need to remind you how well that turned out. Look at them — the cultist’s children are the exact same age. Look at where they’re at.” He sneered, disgustedly shaking his head. “They were mistakes. Don’t worry, I’ve already made arrangement for a litter I feel you’ll find far more promising, but there is the issue of figuring out what to do with this one. Fortunately,” Beelzebub paused, eyeing the entrance. “I’ve a plan. What are your thoughts on a tournament? My litter versus Koga and Marusya’s. They’re all outranked, and we know that, but it can give some insight into how they raise their litters. Not to mention a good laugh. Besides, Aamon and Leyak could use the motivation. Give ‘em a look at what happens to the lazy and unmotivated. If any of mine survive, then so be it, but I wouldn’t place any bets. After all, only the strong survive, as you put it. So what do you say? Let’s nip this in the bud now so we can focus on something a bit more — promising.”

The journey was just as grueling as Ronin guessed Beel's training would be. They lost one or two along the way in brutal winter storms, and the Alpha seemed not to care in the least. They were weak, and so were useless to him. The whole way there the others had fed off the corpses of their own, and he had refused only because it simply didn't feel right to eat something that had the same blood as him coursing through its veins at one point when it was alive. Not that he could have eaten even when he was starving; his new master had made a point to starve him the whole way, only giving him scraps of small rodents here and there to keep him alive and moving. Over the past couple months he had grown gangly and extremely thin, his wound from Ky healing badly due to the lack of proper nutrition to heal correctly. It was now three jagged pink columns that was still scabbed in areas, taking longer to heal than normal. Of course, there was also the emotional scarring he had to deal with on his own as well. The mix of colors that made up his fur was tangled and slightly matted, unclean and unkempt due to lack of care. He was too focused on trying to figure out how he should be acting, if Beel was really who he should look to for guidance. He may be over a year old, but Ronin's mind was still malleable, and with the ego breakdown the brute had been giving him ever since his escape attempt was showing signs of working. Slowly he was being warped, his morals disappearing and a primal state of mind finding its way into his psyche. He spoke little to none at all, only when Beel demanded an answer from him, finding it better to save what energy he did have and not waste it on words that would fall on deaf ears. He had nothing to say to them. To anyone. At this point, there wasn't much of any thoughts running through his mind--he was pretty much running on autopilot since he began starving. This morning, he had found the burrow of some rodent, and was laying nearby, ready to grab whatever it was that may come out and eat every bit of it. He needed food before he finally died. He would have let himself, if those thoughts were still in his being, but alas, any thought of self-destruction or of self at all had been wiped clean. Unfortunately, he had fallen asleep, and it was Beelzebub who snatched the vole from its den, his raspy voice commanding him to his feet. He obeyed, slowly, watching the creature squeak and squirm in the wolf's claws. He snapped its neck so it was paralyzed, but was light enough not to kill the rodent outright. Weakly it continued to squeal and whimper. He found himself salivating, desperate to jump forward and take that vole and swallow it whole. He barely even heard anything of his command other than to follow him to Adramalech's den. Stomach gurgling, begging for any kind of actual substance, he wobbled a good few feet behind Beelzebub, barely able to keep up at this point. He was going to die at this rate. He didn't even know how his legs were still moving, his whole body ached and felt exhausted. He wanted to just go to sleep and never wake up. He waited outside the den as Beel took the vole inside of it. He found himself grimacing at the loss of the meal; if only he had been awake and had gone for it, he may have gotten the meat for himself. Or at least chased it off so Beel couldn't take it for these pups which weren't his. It was obvious even to Ronin that Beel held great disdain for his own children, and as such was obsessed with Adra's. What was he to Beel? Just another one of his own pups, or a promising light like the children of his alpha? Maybe if he were meaner Beel would appreciate him more. Maybe he really didn't act like a wolf, and that was why Beel treated him the way he did. Hell, he would do just about anything to please the male enough to get himself back into a healthy disposition. Just then, he heard his master's voice exclaim something happily, something about him sitting outside. Then two small bodies popped out of the den, their eyes on him. He immediately frowned; these were the ones who got his vole instead of him. The ones Beel focused all of his praise on. They weren't even his, never would be. He was just jealous because his pups turned out to be lazy and unproductive. But then again, Beel didn't exactly seem to try to force them to do anything, like he didn't expect anything out of them from the start. If so, then why breed with the female? Why let her carry them? Why not kill her and the pups outright? He didn't understand Beel's sense of cruelty. Of course, they may not have killed Suki because they wanted to make an example of her, but even so, why use her as a breeder if he had a feeling anything she produced would be worth nothing to him? Why not use her for other things, like a toy to get out the alpha's aggression on when he needed to let off steam? Did he want her to have pups that he knew would be worthless? Was that his own personal form of torture? Either way, the pups were beginning to address him, and he tried his best to bring himself from his daze to listen to them. @beelzebub Alpha Adramalech @aamon Apprentice Leyak

Soft winds filtered through a dense, multi-colored pelt. It was intriguing, almost, how anyone was to maintain warmth when the mountains stayed so damn frigid all year round - with no exceptions. Placidly, Sakia stood from the indented ground she had resided for the past few hours, blissfully avoiding and ignoring all of the drama that unfolded around her. The birth - not to mention, death - of pups had hardly tickled her interest. In fact, nothing did anymore. Sakia was consumed by the illness of boredom, it was like an itch she could never scratch. But hey, what one can’t do themselves, they can force another to do for them.
Meandering the few feet closer to the colossal black male she had been practically shadowing since her arrival at this place, a gleam of mischief flashed through ghostly optics. Sakia looked down at the balls of…. Hell…. That congregated around Vivaldi and Adramalech, and snorted in a mixture of disgust, and defiance. She wasn’t going to speak, no, the Alpha had been quite adamant about speaking when addressed only. The dame wasn’t looking to get her ass whooped.
Dropping to her stomach, Sakia looked dead into the eyes of the young rats, tail swishing in feigned amusement as she did so. All her facial features held was a look of contempt, these two… things… could never be the future leaders of this pack. The spawn of the ratty looking Vivaldi, what could be worse? The small female rolled onto her back, crashing into Adra’s legs. She knew he wasn’t going to fall - wouldn’t that be hilarious, though? -, merely to tear his attention away from the pups was her sole goal. If the barging in wasn’t enough, the bitch would continue to pester the Alpha with gently kicking paws toward his torso.

―――――――――― Alphess Marusya of Ignasia ――――――――――
Marusya came into the Mortiul common grounds with a welcoming smile on her face as she spotted the wolf she wanted. Approaching the growing group of superiors she dipped her head to both Alphas. "Adramalech, Vivaldi," she greeted, "I hope it's not too much disruption with me dropping by, I was hoping to steal away Vivaldi today and finally get a good scope of our new territory, if that's not too much trouble," she spoke professionally with a relaxed body posture.
Rolling her shoulders she looked to Sakia, a stolen pup from another pack if she remembers correctly. The child was practically begging attention away from the new pups... new pups, her eyes zeroed in on the little boys.
"Why, look at those two boys, growing big I see," she spoke happily of the two before looking to Vivaldi teasingly. "Once they're big enough we should introduce them to Anubis and Imset, perhaps the pairs will get along?" Of course Marusya was already attempting to pair the heir's together, to tie the groups together. She hoped though that her daughters would be better commanders and leaders, to carry on Ignasian religion to the pack. If they didn't, then they would be big enough disappointments she would kill them herself.
However, Marusya truly doubted they would fail. They were already coming along nicely in their studies of the religion. They just needed to pursue a deeper understanding of their ways if they will lead them one day and spread Adjetni's blessing.
But today she wouldn't worry about those things. Today she was going to enjoy herself with Vivaldi. She would have a quiet, peaceful day. She had things to discuss with her friend and partner before she took her ideas to her mate.

PUP SAURON
OF
MORTIUL
Sauron had grown into a lanky, awkward male. His circle patch became more pronounced as he aged and his brother would joke that he was the one ring to rule them all. Of course the two were playing and making jokes. He was given no training or potential over the last few months. He was ropped in with this sister's shenagins and labelled lazy with no potential.
He wasn't really sure what he was to do. He was young and inexperienced. Afraid to step on any wrong toes like his Aunt Lilith did, that mistake costed her life. But it appeared he was to battle another litter, one he knew he would lose against. Eyes looked down, resigned to his fate his father seemed to set to have him and his siblings play out.

SILAS
Silas lost interest in the gathering almost immediately except for where Vivaldi was concerned. Laying on the cold ground he watched the proceedings with mild interest, not caring to voice anything, not like he would be heard anyway. Flicking an ivory tail he kept close watch of the two pups who seemed to enjoy the attention they were receiving. Was to be expected of children, although he was jealous so much of his Mistress' attention was on them. He would have to make due with that, as was the way things were and would not change. At least not right now or anytime soon.
A surprise appearance of the other pack's Alphess strolled in. His body rising in respect before laying down again once she was greeted by her peers. He kept his stomach down and his head up as he watched. Too many superiors in one area kept him from exposing himself to unwanted attention.

Vivaldi watches as Adramalech shows the two boys their future subjects, a decidedly pleased tilt to her lips. The raven brute was never one for any type of familial affection, but she must admit that this was more than she had anticipated. The way he lectured the seemed almost fatherly in a way - something that might seem normal to an outside wolf, since he is after all their fatherc but seemed much more significant considering his normally cold visage. Its high time as well that you met your uncle. Yes, perfect. The alphess had hopes to apprentice one of her sons to the brute once they come of age; firsthand experience from the current beta could only do them good. She would mention such once the boys were out of earshot.
At Adra’s summon, Beelzebub ambles over with his personal minion in tow, a small rodent dangling from his jaws. Beelzebub’s tattered appearance brought a great deal of pleasure to the frosty bitch. It wasn’t so much a prejudice against the brute himself, but- but. His missing eye brings back happy memories of crushing her own brother’s in his skull. Her sibling had lost his eye because he had started a fight he couldn’t win. Beelzebub had lost an eye and an ear due to equally poor judgement. She wonders if he would flinch as her brother did, should she snap her jaws closed beside his gaping socket.
She wonders if it had popped just as deliciously.
As he presents the vole to Aamon and Leyak, she drops her head, murmuring, “Go ahead and kill it, but attempt to dislocate it’s legs before you eat it. Though it will be harder to attempt on a real opponent, it is a useful skill to begin practicing.” Eyeing them for a moment to be sure they followed instructions, she returns her attention to Beel. She feels a surge of gratitude in her chest as he offers up his playtoy - Ronin, she believes. Her babes weren’t ones for typical play, but this would surely hold their attention for some time.
I’ve a plan. What are your thoughts on a tournament? ...Besides, Aamon and Leyak could use the motivation. So what do you say? Hellfire eyes seem to glow as she considers the prospect, a slow smile curling her lips. ”What a brilliant idea. I’ve been meaning to set a test for Tiny - her training is coming along well, but she’s still rather timid. I do believe her and her siblings lives being on the line will be just the push she needs.” Settling back on her haunches, she curls her tail neatly as she leans forward a bit. “I also ask that my sons feed off of one of the losers - just a bit. I’d like them desensitized to such things from an early age.” She eyes Adramalech to assess his thoughts on the manner.
Before any response can fall from his lips, she is distracted by a small brown body moving in her peripheral. It was Sakia - the alpha’s chosen pet. She believed the little yearling had been given the rank of general? Though Vivaldi had yet to see her fight. It was a given, though, that Adramalech would not give ranks to the undeserving, so she assumes the bitch was competent, at least. The alabaster lupess watches as Sakia drops to the ground to observe the pups before shuffling over to Adra and rolling on her back. Vivaldi watches with a sense of amusement as she bats at the alpha’s chest, like some wayward child begging for attention. Well, she was only a year old; some immaturity was still to be expected. Though it is somewhat entertaining that she acts more childish than the children.
Then, a she-wolf enters their cave, and a genuinely pleased smile graces Vivaldi’s visage. Marusya! What a perfectly pleasant surprise. She had been meaning to pay the cultist a visit now that her babes were older; it would appear that they were of one mind. I was hoping to steal away Vivaldi today and finally get a good scope of our new territory, if it’s not too much trouble. ”Consider me stolen.” The alphess utters with a teasing air, tail giving a decided swish as she stands. Why look at those two boys, growing big I see. Once they’re big enough we should introduce them to Anubis and Imset, perhaps the pairs will get along? ”Oh yes; if nothing else, it is important that they have a relationship with fellow...business partners.” If Vivaldi had her way, however, they would grow to be significantly more than that. Perhaps they would discuss it on their outing. First, however, she had to procure a...sitter.
”Please, do not hesitate to howl if you need me. Should you tire of the boys, Silas will gladly take them.” She would utter to Adramalech before sauntering over to where Silas lay. He would likely stand in her presence, and she circles him tauntingly for a moment before gripping his ear in a punishing nip - not enough to tear the delicate appendage, but enough to draw a small bead of blood.
She licks it away.
”I am leaving with Marusya,” She sneers quietly, eyeing the blonde brute critically. ”Be attentive. Do not let my sons go without supervision.” She narrows her eyes. ”Punishment or reward will depend on what I return to.” Turning her back on the male, she steps outside of the large cavern, her friend at her side. ”We have much to catch up on, Marusya...”

“What a brilliant idea.” Clouded lips curled in a sharp, analytical smile as Vivaldi’s mind reeled with possibilities. So that was why Adra had picked her as opposed to his initial type — slender, quivering she-wolves like Elysia — not due to extraordinary strength or beauty, although she certainly possessed both, but a magnificently clever mind. Within moments, they had a wide array of options at their disposal, from tossing her Apprentice Tiny into the fray, to providing her pups their first taste of true meat. “Just a ‘bit’?” He teased, cackling at the memory of his first taste. “Come, come Vivaldi, you know that’s no way to be promoting a healthy diet. They are both growing boys after all, and they need their strength. Why not give them the length of the entrails? They can handle it, I’m sure,” he sneered, his eyes flickering towards where they were surely disemboweling their vole. “Look at the way they’re going at it! Truly after your own heart Adramalach; the resemblance is absolutely uncanny.” He suppressed a soft pang of envy. Couldn’t his own children have turned out to be something more useful? Ah well— they’d be resolved by day’s end. As for now, he’d new prospects to consider, fresher and far more promising.
Speaking of the cultists, the female of the pair seemed as though she could be summoned on Vivaldi’s command, appearing promptly at the den almost immediately Perhaps if they chanted her name a certain number of times — Beel shook his head. He would have to test such later. The friendship between the two rulers was unusual at best, unnatural at worst. Even now, marveling at it, he’d yet to understand why they got along as splendidly as they did, and yet here they were, eagerly discussing the possibilities of “partnering” their children for the future. Poor Leyak. Poor Aamon. The boys had no idea what a world of trouble they were in for. As the two left to discuss their ideals, (and further means of tormenting their young, no less), Vivaldi comfortably left her children’s fate in Silas’s paws. Another obscure, unusual oddity, but Vivaldi seemed to have a fondness for such. Her and Silas’s relationship was- well- supremely strange, as was the fact that Adramalach hadn’t torn him to bits. Then again, Adramalach had Sakia, actively pawing at his chest even now. Maybe this was to level their playing field? As Vivaldi began to walk away, he made a mental note to ask Adramalach, but later. Now, he’d a chance to share his secret.
“Brother,” he practically purred, eager to receive feedback on the idea he’d been stewing on since he seized Eureka. “I’ve the most marvelous news. I’m sure you’ve been wondering what I meant when I told you Somnus was ours, correct?” He paused, unable to conceal a cackle. “Well,” He giggled, doubling over in delight. “I had the privilege, no — the honor of having an encounter with Alphess Eureka the day we decided to leave. She is pregnant with my, my offspring! Just imagine the possibilities! It’s a direct plant, automatically tied, no fuss and muss smuggling in, out, in, out.” He trembled, edging a step closer in his brother’s personal space than he knew he’d prefer. “Imagine. Somnus, the whole of it, ours! I’ll choose the path they take, no matter how hard she try and sway them otherwise. They, and all of Somnus, will soon follow us. Think of the information they can give, the secrets, the weaknesses. And that’s only the start of it. With Somnus will follow Noctis with Noctis will follow Lubrusca, with Lubrusca will follow Ferus. Soon, we can fulfill what we came to this terrible land for. Our plans are already in motion. Soon, we shall rule every wolf of the four packs and in every territory in between.”

Alpha Adramalech of Mortiul | After having mentioning his brother, Adramalech caught sight of the black male approaching, Ronin in tow. He brought the two pups a live vole, which intrigued him. Adramalech’s father had done nothing to prepare him for the world, and right off the bat he had killed his siblings, leaving only himself for his father to teach. He killed before even considering eating something alive. The new idea intrigued him, and made him look towards his brother with a bit of amusement at the gesture. Vivaldi gave the pups some advice that he agreed with, but he naturally didn’t speak up. The she-wolf knew what she was talking about after all. Although he would like for his son’s to learn underneath the teachings of himself and Beelzebub, Vivaldi would have a strong presence in their life as well. Sakia had approached not long after Beelzebub, and was playing around at his legs. The she-wolf was nearing maturity, and he would impregnate her as quickly as possible. She had been rather compliant over the past couple of months, not naturally disagreeing with him or anything. Instead she somewhat seemed to understand her place. Somewhat. Taking his paw, he put it directly on her neck, stepping lightly on her to give her a warning to stop. He would move his paw as soon as she stopped her antics, and brought his attention back to Beelzebub. The male suggested a tournament of sorts. Between Beelzebub’s pups and Koga’s. The idea naturally was approved by the male. They needed to get rid of the weak links in the pack, and focus on raising the ones that survived. “Like-minded we are brother. I will pitch the idea to Koga, as we’ll need his approval,” He stated, looking towards the wolf that simply mirrored him.
Marusya approached, almost as if the timing was perfect. She was not hear however to discuss professional matters, simply come to chat with the Alphess of the pack. It seemed she was directing the question towards him, but he would not have any reign over what Vivaldi did. The only time that he was able to tell the she-wolf what to do is when it came to pack matters and Sakia. Vivaldi listened to him only on those two occasions. Otherwise, she did as she wished, and he had no qualms with that. Listening to what the mother to his offspring said, he gave her a simple nod. Watching his sons would be easy enough. They seemed rather obedient, and with them pestering Ronin, they would be kept busy for awhile. And Ronin wouldn’t let anything happen to the pups if he knew what was good for him. And it seemed that she entrusted Silas with the task of watching the young ones too. If any wolf were to take their eyes of the boys and have them come to harm while Adramalech tended to business matters he would slaughter each and every member that did. Waving his tail behind him, he watched Vivaldi disappear with Marusya, smirking as he turned back to his brother. Once more, business.
His attention was brought to his sons whom has disemboweled the vole already, picking at the insides and seeing what was there to offer. It seemed they followed along nicely with their mothers advice, and held more potential, definitely more so than Beelzebub’s litter. Listening to his brother speak of their uncanny resemblance, he smirked. He was right, they were much like him when he was younger. But that aside, he listened to what his brother said about impregnating the Somnus Alphess. He had wished that Beelzebub had brought her to Adramalech, as it seemed he produced much more successful offspring, but maybe the second time around would prove better for Beelzebub. He liked the idea of infiltrating from the inside of a pack and destroying them slowly. Looking towards his brother, he nodded. “We need to speak of those matters actually,” He said, looking down towards Sakia as he said so. “You better listen as well,” He stated.
“As you’ve already taken the initiative of planting our control in Somnus, we will skip over that and you’ll provide me ideas with how to do that. However, we should first go for Ferus. The pack has a Salutary, and we’ve already instilled fear into them. We will use the Salutary to report back about Ferus and its neighboring pack, Lubrusca. On one of my scouts with Vivaldi we found that the scents mingle on one border. I would think this means they have an alliance of sorts,” He spoke, looking towards his brother with pitch black eyes. “If we’re able to, we need to kill the Alphas of each pack,” That was the plan, kill the Alphas, take members as hostages, and take their land. “We will go for Lubrusca first. With how few scents were at the borders, I only expect a handful of wolves to be present in the territory. We will let some run to Ferus in order to follow them in the territory and kill the Ferus Alphas,” He said, looking towards his brother. “After that, they will more than likely seek out Somnus, what would you like to do then?” He stated, looking towards his brother. Somnus was now his to torment, and his brother would do so accordingly.

SITTER SILAS
Silas stood as Vivaldi approached him, his head remaining low and avoided looking at her anywhere above the knees. Her body moved around his and he could feel the goosebumps pop up as she neared him. He parted his mouth slightly, an unconscious reaction to her presence. He would definitely keep his eyes lowered now or else she might have seen the lust within them.
Then his ear was in her mouth and it took all his will power to not moan from her touch. His knees went weak but he stood standing as she tugged at his oh so sensitive appendage. He could feel the break in the skin and the heat of pain that rushed to the area. He only let out one ragged breath but otherwise remained quiet and still. When she was done she licked the blood away. The gentle pressure of her tool of choice had him closing his eyes briefly. He almost pushed into her for more but cooled himself as she pulled away.
Orange eyes opened once more as she spoke. Marusya was there and for a moment Silas thought he should look ashamed in front of the two Alphess' but the other seemed to wear a smirk. She knew what had occurred and there was no longer a point in pretending, so he let those feelings go quickly.
"As you wish," he spoke softly, his words carrying a tone that meant something much deeper.

The trip had been rough. Extremely dangerous, yet somehow, Tern had managed to pull through the ravashing winds and lack of prey that such place had. But such a walk obviously was not free of toll. Not all of the pups of the litter had made it through the hazardous conditions, yet nobody seemed to care, not even notice. And a certain black and witty pup realized. Nobody gave half a shit for any of them.
Flash-forward two months later, the son of the Beta sat against a his sister, Percephone. Since his brother's death, certain thoughts repeated over and over and over again on his head, seemingly bouncing repeatedly from brain wall to brain wall. Tern couldn't say they were close, hell, his closest relationship was with Perci and he still couldn't decide whether he liked or not. But something was certain. If the litter didn't stick close together, they would die. Looking at the adults roaming the common grounds, he analyzed them carefully, watching with close attention their body language, their scars, even their expressions. It was clear, tragicomically simple. We don't have a place here anymore.
One of them was already a rotten corpse, only buried by whatever snow managed to rain on him. Malphus was a lazy ass, Sauron was growing weaker by the minute and Perci had been riding her high horse since basically the moment she got out of her mother's womb. The only thing he had going for himself was his ability for speech, and nobody gave a fuck about that. He knew everyone just saw him as the kid cowering behind his sister's natural ability to bitch about everything, and it was the truth.
What were they going to do? Was there anything they could do? Anywhere they could run to? Tern had these three questions but no answer. He was beginning to feel overwhelmed, so many odds against him and so few actions he could take to turn the match around. Then their dad came. Obnoxious as ever, the Beta of Mortiul had already started the morning shouting at them, telling them to just get off their butts and be productive for once. The ebony pup had already turned tail and was ready to begin asking questions, see whose favor they could win to survive, what new, next to miraculous activity they could suddenly excel at and be forgiven for not being strong enough. But Perci, as always, apparently had other plans. He could feel it without glancing at her, the small she-wolf was ready to do something stupid, to say something stupid. But before she could even get close to pronouncing a word, Tern bit the tip of her tail, not with his full jaw strenght but with enough power to shut her gap up.
"Right away, sir!" chipped the pup, faking an eye to eye smile and basically dragging his sister into the forest, where nobody would hear them, or at least he hoped so. "Do you even think anymore, Percephone?!?" he asked, interrupting any complaints she had on their way there.
