Lotus smiled as she watched Hound made his way towards the edge of the icy waters, bending over to get a better look. It was rare that they all had such an opportunity to have fun together. She'd better make the best out of this short time. Lotus was about to pad over and join him, when Mutt's voice interrupted her. "Fishing sounds nice, or we could play a game! Y'all could hide and then Hound and I will come find you! We would win, no doubt." Lotus listened to his proud announcement, turning just in time to see him puffing his little chest out. Lotus narrowed her eyes slightly upon her brothers, sizing up the challenge. Doesn't seem that hard. Rome and I can certainly win the both of them There was a soft smirk on Lotus' face. "This sounds like fun."she quipped, wagging her tail excitedly. She looked to Rome for her answer, before scurrying off to find a perfect hiding spot. "I think we should find separate hiding spots. It would be harder for them to find all of us." With that, Lotus took off in her own direction, decidedly picking a rather large stone protruding from the ground. Clawing furiously at the ground, she began digging a hole next to the rock, forming a little dent in the ground which she crept into. Crouching down low, Lotus pressed her ears against her skull, knitting her eyebrows in concentration. I can't let them find me here. Lotus adjusted herself into a comfortable position, enjoying the squishiness of the soft mud. Her pale, cloudy coat provided as perfect camouflage to the thin layer of ice above the ground, much to her advantage. Now, all she had to do was wait and listen. The four of them played around with their little "hide-and-seek" game, without any care of the world. Lotus couldn't remember the last time they had done so. it was quiet and peaceful down in her hiding spot, something Lotus really enjoyed. If only this moment could last forever. Time skip: Night FallLotus had certainly missed out on a lot of information the adults had discussed. It had grown dark so fast. She was bracing herself for their return to the warm shadows of their den in the commons, patiently awaiting the instructions of their mother. “Zayn, Tayla, Rome, My—les, Hou-und, Lotus, come.” Ears pricked, Lotus listened to her mother's long-awaited voice, picking out evermore harshness and authority from it. Something was wrong. Were they not going back to their den? Where were they heading now? Lotus felt a little rush of panic in her, her heart thumping faster against her chest. There was so much urgency and coldness in their mother's command, she couldn't imagine what would happen if any of them dared to ignore her instructions. Obediently, Lotus came hustling upon her call, looking over towards her siblings and making sure that they did the same. “Li—sten. We-e are lea-aving toni-i-ight. All of us-s. From now on, you mu-u-ustn’t ma-a-ake a sound. Quiet.I will ca-a-arry you out to the bo-or-ders one at a ti-i-ime. In or-or-der of birth. Must st-ay-ay li-imp and si-i-i-lent.Once se-e-et down, I will hi-i-ide. Stay there. Don’t mo-o-ve until,Un-til I co-ome back. Mu-u-ust ru-un out if da-ay or mo-or-ore passes. While I ca-a-arry one, rest of yo-ou must stay here wi-ith Stan—ley. He wi-ill watch yo-ou. Ta-a-ke care of you. Do-on’t leave his si-i-ight. Zayn. You fir-st. Are you r-e-eady?" Lotus could barely grasp onto what was going on. Her mind was racing. They are leaving? Are they trying to escape? And now? In order of birth? Zayn is going first, and I'm going last... It took her a long time to process the whole situation. They were finally making an escape - at night. Is that what Stanley and their mother had been planning all the while? Was that why they were having such a secretive discussion? And Zayn is going first, she last. This couldn't have just been any coincidence, not just their "birth order". Certainly there was something more to that. Perhaps, their mother favoured Zayn over her. Had she lost to her older brother? Had she not gotten enough approvals from her mother? Lotus felt her slight frustration surface as she scrunched her tiny face up into tiny frowns, before it disappeared. She shot a sideways glance at Zayn, jealousy nibbling away at her fragile heart. Uncertain and slightly fearful of everything that was going on, Lotus watched as their mother gently picked Zayn up by his nape, securing him in her jaws. “Stan—ley?Be ca-a-areful. Goodbye.” Those were their mother's last words, before she parted with Zayn in toll. Lotus felt her whole body tense up, as she gazed at her mother's receding back. What if they got caught? What if she never made it back? What if we didn't succeed? Lotus turned to Stanley, their current caregiver, before sweeping her gaze over her siblings. Surely they were as frightened as she was. PUP ZAYN OF IGNASIA
Zayn pushed himself up tightly next to Tayla, even though he was more protective and larger he felt particularly safe next to her. He nipped playfully at her ear, trying to shake the bad feelings worming their ways into his head. The world around him seemed to become brighter, at least in hues. The greens returned to the leaves where they were once gray and shadowy place became less dark. Black nose wrinkled at the thought of what had grabbed him, turning his head away from his hole he went to play with Myles. Whatever he wanted to do Zayn would do it without much complaint.
Exit to Nightfall
Zayn had played to his hearts content before curling himself into a ball underneath Miyako. He had slept there, under his mother, for most of the evening. Only when his mother stirred did he wake with a small, squeak of a yawn. He rolled around a bit before his named was hissed from above him. Baby blue eyes that seemed to have begun to darken widened in slight shock. Looking quickly to his mother, he opened his mouth in question. He was used to being the sole trouble maker of the litter, but he had only been sleeping this time. However, Miyako went on with same tone to the rest of his siblings. Oh no.
"Come.” The command was clear as day, so he went to his rump, his plush tail staying stock still as he waited. Something wasn't right, but he trusted his mother. “Li—sten. We-e are lea-aving toni-i-ight. All of us-s. From now on, you mu-u-ustn’t ma-a-ake a sound. Quiet.” Something in her tone of voice reminded him almost of the monsters in the shadows from earlier. Ears flattened against his skull, the way she acted made him afraid. Not of her, but whatever was going on.
“I will ca-a-arry you out to the bo-or-ders one at a ti-i-ime. In or-or-der of birth. Must st-ay-ay li-imp and si-i-i-lent.” Zayn looked worriedly towards Tayla and Myles, then to his other siblings. Even though they caused trouble for each other, he still didn't wanna be left alone. “Once se-e-et down, I will hi-i-ide. Stay there. Don’t mo-o-ve until,” the pause made his heart clench. He realized at this moment though, if he was afraid, so was his brothers and sisters. Swallowing he resolved to not cause unneeded fuss.
“Un-til I co-ome back. Mu-u-ust ru-un out if da-ay or mo-or-ore passes. While I ca-a-arry one, rest of yo-ou must stay here wi-ith Stan—ley. He wi-ill watch yo-ou. Ta-a-ke care of you. Do-on’t leave his si-i-ight. Zayn,” Her soft voice had one ear perking in acknowledgement. “You fir-st. Are you r-e-eady?” At her words, Zayn turned and flashed Myles and Tayla a comforting smile. Taking a small breath as he was lifted upwards, "It'll be okay," he said towards his siblings, his small baby like voice trying to comfort them.
“Be ca-a-areful. Goodbye.” The Goodbye his mother had whispered sent his spine shivering. Why did that sound so final? He didn't know what was going on but he did not enjoy this feeling.

Time skip: Night Fall Stanley looked onto the nothingness, thinking of what could or couldn't be after tonight. A thundering, cold shiver travelled through his spine, extending to his entire body. Trea—son, Miyako's words flashed on his mind, repeating the conversation over and over. Th-e-ey’ll kill us if they ca-a-atch us-s, a fact that was deeply impaled into his brain, a constant pain that hunted him everywhere, yet worst of all, it was all around a plausible fate. Would you be ready? the broken breeder's question resonated in his head like a ricocheting bullet, on and on again, sparking fear and doubt into the male's actions. "No," he answered, to nobody present but himself. The rogue slave turned around, watching as his fellow captive explained the plan to her offspring. "But that's exactly why I'm here," finished Stan, satisfied with his resolve, seeing the mother preparing to take one of her children, finally running away from their captor. “Stan—ley?” She questioned, following up with a soft, yet cutting "Be ca-a-areful. Goodbye," which the male replied with a warm smile. The sight of Miyako escaping into the night with at least one of her children brought the brown hued tremendous joy, an emotion he hadn't felt in months. Now, what do I do with all of you? he asked to himself, standing before the entirety of the ruler of Ignasia's progeny. @miyako Zayn Lotus @rome Apprentice Mutt @myles @tayla

The trek to the stream is long. Rome’s paws ache, the snow goes up to almost her chest, and the new sights and smells could only take her mind off of how over this she was for so long. And, it would seem, mother had dragged them out here for no reason at all - after instructions to go play, she turns all her attention to Stanley and begins whispering things Rome can not possibly hear. With a tiny puff of a sigh, she pushes through the drift and clambers her way atop a flat rock, sprawling out across its sunwarmed surface with a lazy air about her. It is not long, however, until her usual entourage follows after her, Lotus trying to entice her down from her makeshift perch with the prospect of fishing. In the coldass water. Despite not saying anything, the expression of disgust she must have made seems to dash that idea to the wind. Feeling the smallest prick of guilt, when Mutt suggests hide and seek, she reluctantly gets to her paws. ”Yes, alright. But you’re seeking first.” However, before they can start any kind of game, Miyako summons them over with a short bark. Ambling to her side, she narrows deep mahogany eyes as the shaky she-wolf mentions secrets. And ones that lives depended on, at that! In spite of herself, Rome can feel curiosity brimming in her chest; what child wouldn’t feel delighted at knowing grown-up secrets! Evidently, the rest of the children present, as it would seem almost none of her other siblings would be pulled away from their respective adventures. Just so, no world changing secrets or information spills from her mother’s lips, and in a heartbeat, Rome loses interest. With a tremulous sigh, she wanders back to see if Lotus and their brothers still wanted to play hide and seek. Timeskip to NightfallPredictably, Rome had fallen into a dreamless nap. After entertaining and reluctantly leading the more loyal of the litter around for a few hours, she had gratefully told them to screw off while she made up for the sleep she had so tragically missed this morning. The oaken furred femme is woken from her rest by, once again, Miyako’s voice - but this time, in a tone that could not possibly be ignored. The quiet, fierce commands that she gave her children though - they made no sense. Escape? Tonight? Mother had never been the most calm and collected of wolves, Rome knew this, but she had also seen Ky’s horrid violence, the absolute authority that Koga weld. To try and escape from under their noses was madness, invited punishment of the cruelest kind - the type of thing far worse than any blows mother had ever given them. The stress, the anxiety, the loss of sleep and energy that would come with such a thing - don’t even get her started on that. As Miyako grabs Zayn and leaves with only a warning to be careful, she turns to Stanley, gaze sharp with the focus she so rarely displayed. ”Stanley,” She hisses, tiny hackles raised, ”I don’t want to go.” Lotus @stanley @miyako Zayn Apprentice Mutt @myles @tayla

Miyako had slithered for what felt like centuries. Even as the array of strangers slipped into shadows and vanished, even as the mists cleared and created a new path, even as the stony earth stabbed and flayed her fragile underbelly, she crept slowly. Swiftness would summon their attention. If she even dared to begin hoisting herself onto her paws, if she even so much as twitched a torn ear, they would know it, and be on her onyx heels before two breaths elapsed. These were their lands, not hers, and everything that happened within it, they knew of. They had eyes everywhere, ears knowingly embedded beyond the bark of every tree, and she, in her idiocies, had assumed she could escape it. Sharp teeth slid against her tongue, suppressing a sorrowful moan as she attempted to still her stiff-necked twitches. Oh Zayn, oh Lotus, she’d damned them, every last one of them to a terrible fate of slavery and sorrow and torment. Perhaps if she’d protested more passionately, reminded Stanley of just how wonderfully deserters were handled here — she could have convinced him. She could have, she could have, but she hadn’t, and was all the more scum for it. In the distance, she could see her six pups. Some, visibly petrified — the poor darlings, if only they saw their future, how much worse it would be. Others, such as Rome, appeared irritably, annoyed with all their intricate complexities, their pathetically flimsy plans of flight and freedom. She couldn’t say that she blamed them much for minding this, for feeling anything less than lethargic apathy. Why would they feel anything less? Was this not their place of birth? This place, a prison to her, was home to them, and there was no reason they should have viewed it as anything less. They’d never witnessed the carnage, the savagery that seeped from every being that resided in these lands too long. Never had they been forced to feast on the flesh of their own kind. Never had they witnessed the murder of friends, of slaves, of innocent souls, and been given no choice but to celebrate the carnage. They’d no reason to hate, or fear, or feel anything other than absolute confusion at her constant hysterics. All she could do was try to deliver them — and pray that one day, they’d be able to understand why she went to such trouble. Tayla was next. Reluctantly, she rose, taking one terse step after another. Stanley was standing right by Rome; alert, attentive. She hated to see it, but she could have sworn the shimmer of his eyes held something that resembled hope. Perhaps it was a just trick of the light, another musing of her overtaxed mind. It couldn’t possibly be real, for it was, that meant their insanities held a tangible chance of succeeding. And if they did, she wouldn’t know where to begin. How exactly did one go about picking the pieces of their life? She couldn’t simply hope to start anew — could she? Did such a thing as ‘new’ even exist anymore? Perhaps now she would finally have a chance to find out. “All well?” She asked breathlessly; a sanguine tongue slipping over sable jaws. One pup down, six to go. Maybe, just maybe, this wasn’t insanity. Perhaps they actually stood a chance, and though a chance wasn’t much, it was all she ever had. For one fleeting expression, she allowed her features to soften, her posture to slack in a rare, odd state of relaxation. All she had to do was what she’d just done six more times. And then, as swiftly as that odd state of calm ascended, it evaporated into nothingness. She saw him. A giant alabaster demon, lurking beyond the bush. Shuddering eyes seared against a mismatched gaze, cold and calculating and clipping any semblance of safety she managed to muster. Jerkily, she jutted thin jaws open, attempting to steady her stance as breath abandoned her. Her worst fears audibly flickered before her, roaring to life. Not a single, alien scent ridged the roof her mouth, but three. The Delta, the Guardian, and worst of all, her Mistress. They’d found them. A mint gaze maintained her own, heartlessly absent of anything remotely resembling sympathy. She choked, gagging on her own welling tears. Why would he? Sable claws sank into the ice as she painfully shook. Mistress had promised him his perfect, happy fairytale ending. She and her litter stood directly in the way of that, little more than a bothersome hindrance to him, and would be snuffed accordingly. Her sides heaved desperately, sorrel jaws seething with thick foam. It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair. She gasped suddenly, thrashing her head in a final attempt to clear his scent from her nose. It remained, growing in strength and intensity. A frantic scream filled her lungs. “HE’S HERE!” She screeched, puce ears plastering themselves against her skull as wild auburn haunches sparked. She blindly staggered back; her voice hoarse, heaving with horror. “HE’S HERE, HE’S HERE, HE’SHEREHEREHEREHERE!” Suddenly, a sharp clarity filled her being even as her pulse thundered in her ears, even as their approaching pawsteps echoed with all the might of lightning strikes. She scanned her litter wildly, searching for something to cling to as they doubtlessly broke the brush lines. She stumbled forwards, jaws ajar, grasping the golden scruff of the only pup that provided her some tiny, small hint of solace: lovely, sweet Lotus. She gripped her harshly, savagely, eyes swinging about wildly as she met the gaze of her frightened pups and — Stanley, oh god, oh god, oh god, they’d kill him. “RUN!” She roared, begging him to abandon this absolute, guaranteed suicide mission and save his own life. He faltered, and in a single heartbeat, it was too late. She turned, her limbs thundering against thin, ashen soil as she ran for her and her youngest’s life, sobbing with grief. “Stanley,” She groaned, hiccuping against her pup’s scruff as she sprinted. “I’m so, so sorry. So—so—so—so—sorry.”

| DELTA CAYDEN OF IGNASIA Long limbs carried him swiftly to the mountainside stream, where the scent of the missing wolves was strong. They were no doubt here. Cayden had taken the initiative to come first before Maleah and Marusya to take care of any dirty work that needed done so the Alphess and his love could simply retrieve the pups. As he came over the hill that was standing in his way, he saw the two with some of the pups, although there was one missing. Anger rushed through him. They had taken one of his Alpha’s children out of the territory and stowed him away. This angered Cayden beyond belief and as he strode forward with malicious intent spread across his face, it seemed that Miyako went into a fit, having a meltdown as she grabbed one of her pups and booked it for the borders. She would be intercepted, everyone at the caves knowing she was not there would alert them. But, the main target he was aiming for right now were the pups. Marusya had specifically said to be gentle with him. They all seemed rather confused by their mothers antics. This is where they were born, they were bound to think that this was their home unlike their very own mother. He had never thought of her escape plan, and with her weak demeanor, nobody had. But now that she was committing to it, his only thought was that this male was behind it, and he would make sure that he knew that he wasn’t escape Koga’s wrath for putting this idea in her head. Stepping forward, before Stanley could make a run for it, he blocked his path, the hulking male snarling. “You aren’t going anywhere,” He growled, eyes lit with anger. There were only two wolves he would ever show this side of him for; Maleah and Koga. He was always the calm, critical male that kept himself collected. But when one betrayed Koga or threatened Maleah, they were in for the time of their life with the angry brute. He took a step forward, corning the male next to the riverbank, taking careful note to not step on any pups as he was doing so. Marusya had commanded they come home in one piece, and he wouldn’t put one out of commission by breaking their spines. Not taking his eyes off of the male, he waited to see what the other would do. He wouldn’t run, that would be a stupid idea, especially now with a viciously angry Delta so close. |

"I don't want to go," was the first sentence Stan was able to hear from the younglings. Turning his sight away from Miyako's chosen path, the slave looked at little thing calling him from below. He didn't even know the pup's name, but Stanley could feel her fear, he could see her anxiety drawing up on her face. Figuring this feeling could, and considering everything, would eventually extend to the rest of the litter, the orange male found himself in a bit of a predicament, but remembered the age of those in front of him.
"I know you are afraid kids, but I promise," said the Mexican Grey wolf, making a small pause just to think up what he could say to calm the children down. "There's better lands to explore out there, full of games, adventures and-," his speech was cut off by a shout, a screech that got louder and closer by each second, accompained by loud sounds of step. “HE’S HERE, HE’S HERE, HE’SHEREHEREHEREHERE!” shouted a completely terrified Miyako, scared out of her mind because something, someone was tracking him down.
"Miyako, who's com-""RUN!" she interrupted yet again, grabbing one of her pups from the floor and making a run for it. Stanley wasn't even able to react nor figure out what to do, when he caught a scent of the "He" Miyako was so afraid of. Cayden, the now Delta of Ignasia had caught up to all of them. The plan was a failure. “You aren’t going anywhere,” said the snow white male, his eyes raging confidence and authority, ready to pounce at any point were his opponent to attempt either attack or flight.
The slave just sighed quietly, there wasn't much he could do at this point. "Can't say we didn't try our best, now can I?" he said, with a soft, defeated chuckle escaping his maw, looking at his captor. "Cayden, I'm not gonna pretend to know you at all, but just listen, for a minute," the orange male took a second to breathe, to organize his points. Maybe he could actually convince the Delta, it was worth a shot. Not like he had any other choice. "But you know what they can do, what they have done, and what they will continue to do. They, every single one of them are lunatics, psychopaths and murderers!" he said, loudly, venting out the pain he's suffered for the past months.
"It's not only about what they did to me, it's what they will do to them! Maybe we are too far gone already, but there's hope in these children, they need a future," finished Stanley, exhaling. "And I'm damn sure they won't find that here".

| DELTA CAYDEN OF IGNASIA Cayden’s bi-colored eyes looked over the male as he talked, trying to get the Delta to take his side. He was desperate for anything that would get him out of this situation. He wouldn’t injure Stanley much, but the words he spoke got underneath Cayden’s skin, and he became agitated by his words. He spoke of how this pack was terrible, what they did was terrible. He was saying that about Cayden’s pack. And a glint of his eyes was enough to show that he was not happy. He had killed for Koga, he had helped Koga take out the wolves Cayden was living with in order to survive and because he admired the male’s strength. He had killed anyone and everything that stood in his way of making himself a better warrior for Koga. Sure, the male didn’t worship Koga like Ky did, but he was a leading figure in Cayden’s mind, and he would be damned if he listened to another wolf talk about Ignasia in any other way than positive. He took the time to look at Stanley with a slight smirk coming onto his face. “And who said I wasn’t?” Cayden responded, ignoring whatever Stanley had said last, and lunged forward, pinning the male down underneath him with ease. He was a slave, and he had no ability to defend himself. “If I would have it my way, you would be dead. Right here in front of these pups, for the plan you put in Miyako’s head. But I will leave your fate in the paws of Marusya and Koga once we return to the caves. If you even think of running I will not hesitate to drag you back with broken limbs,” The male snarled, fangs gleaming as they peeked out from under black lips. And with that, he eased himself off of the male, giving a low growl. “Stay put,” He said, and let a howl rip from his throat to summon Marusya and Maleah over so they could gather the pups. He looked towards the four that were still there. There were too many to carry back the caves, so some would have to walk. He would wait for Marusya and Maleah to get there before he did anything however. His eyes were trained on Stanley, and was making sure that the male was next to him. Whether it be cowering or standing, Cayden didn’t care. He knew the male would listen to him. |

Mutt's tail began to wag, Rome had agreed to some hide and seek after all, which was a rare sight in its own right, and what was even better was that both him and Mutt were gonna be the ones seeking, the dream duo for hide and seek, and they had finally gotten the opportunity to put their skills to the test. However, just as they were beginning to count Rome was distracted by their mother, but Mutt didn't care, he was happy enough just going to find Lotus, "Sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty." Mutt turned around quickly and began searching for his sister, he wasn't as good at finding as Hound was, but maybe he would get lucky this time, or maybe Hound would beat him to finding her just as he always did.
Exit to Nightfall
After a few rounds of hide and seek Mutt had passed out with Hound, his back resting against his brother's back comfortably, also serving to keep them both warm in the chill that still hung in the air. Mutt hadn't bothered to listen to anything the adults had been speaking about while they were playing, the dark tan pup had been too focused on winning in their hide-and-seek game and keeping Hound focused on the game none of that had really mattered to him. But, here they both were napping together, and then slowly Mutt opened his tired eyes, yawning and rolling further on his back, pushing more of his weight back feeling more secure the closer he was to his brother. Then the small pup slowly rolled back to his paws, shaking his thick fur out, it may have looked thin for an adult wolf, but for a puppy, most of Mutt's weight was his fur alone.
“Zayn, Tayla, Rome, My—les, Hou-und, Lotus, come.” Mutt's ears pricked at the sound of their mother's voice, but she must've forgotten him, with seven different pups he understood the lack of realization, but it did make his ears droop a bit, until he recognized the cold urgency hidden within her voice, and then curiosity peaked in the forefront of his mind, what was happening now, what were they going to do. Mutt nudged Hound quickly and hurried after Lotus who also seemed a bit on edge about the whole situation. Finally, their mother continued, "Li—sten. Zayn. You fir-st. Are you r-e-eady?"
Mutt's hot pink eyes watched as their mother gently grasped the nape of Zayn's neck in her jaws and hurried away, he looked at Hound and then to Lotus, confused why were they going to be leaving, there was no need, they were home, what was the point of leaving now? And, what if they aren't quick enough, what if Hound and I get separated, what if Lotus gets left behind, she is the last born after all, and she's part of the trio... Mutt looked nervously between his two closest siblings, his older brother and younger sister, both whom he was very protective over, but what could he do? There was no way the small pup was going to deny their mother's request, so, the dark tan pup finally just sat down and waited patiently, this was the best, and only, course of action possible as of right now, and Mutt wasn't about to disobey their mother.
Mutt saw their mother returning his ears pricked up and Zayn was no longer with her, Mutt was still confused as to what was happening, why they were leaving, but the small pup's tail wagged slowly, their mother had succeeded in doing whatever it was she was doing, and whether or not they understood why, she was doing an amazing job so far. However, just as Mutt's tail began to wag, he saw his mother's eyes the fear that set in them and then her screams “HE’S HERE, HE’S HERE, HE’SHEREHEREHEREHERE!” Mutt pressed himself against Hound, eyes wide in fear at what seemed to be a sudden break in their mother's sanity, which Mutt always suspected was probably right around the corner, but he never expected it to happen now, when they were apparently trying to escape, the reason why still out of his grasp. Then their mother stopped, as if finally something clicked and she grabbed Lotus, shouting "RUN," to her partner in crime, Stanley, and before anything else could happen their mother was gone, and she had left five of her pups in a place she had deemed unfit for herself to live in.
The hot pink eyes were wide, what had just happened, nothing seemed to be quite right anymore their mother had finally snapped, and Stanley just seemed to have accepted his fate, and finally, Cayden appeared, out of nowhere, at least that was how it seemed to the small tan pup. Mutt stared up at the Delta, awestruck by the Cayden's sheer size, but Mutt was well aware of the possibility of seeing his own death tonight if Cayden placed one paw wrong, so as usual Mutt stayed close to his brother, forcing his small body to remain completely still so as not to accidentally fall under the Delta's paws.
Mutt listened closely to Stanley and Cayden's conversation, for some reason Stanley was bent on 'saving' the pups from the only home they knew, and the male was close to losing his own life for it. Their mother had finally lost her mind now, and apparently Stanley was going to lose his, and to go along with that his life would be lost as well. The real question that was on Mutt's mind was, 'What would happen to all of them?' Five pups, without a mother, in a pack that seemed either scared of them or just had no care in the world about whether they were going to live or whether they were going to die, and everyone knew, their father wasn't about to take them in and care for them, so who was left to care for the five of them, the unwanted ones?

”Stanley, I don’t want to go.” Lotus' ears pricked as she listened to her older sister's meek, pleading voice. She had never heard Rome like this before, full of fear and uncertainty. Lotus, herself, had begun trembling awhile ago, breaking her usual calm demeanour. Sucking in a deep breath of the cool night air, Lotus tried to calm herself down, but to no avail. The youngest one braced herself for the worst, afraid of what was awaiting all of them. What if they really got caught? What if Zayn...Mother... are gone? What if I never get to see them again?Lotus felt all her envy for Mr Perfect vanish temporarily, overwhelmed by concern and worry for both him and their mother. Then, there were still the six of them waiting quietly under the cover of nightfall, all so vulnerable and susceptible to getting caught too. Anxious, Lotus turned to face her siblings, taking in each of their frightened faces. What would it be like to lose any of my siblings? She watched as Mutt was gazing back at her nervously, and she swallowed, returning an equally terrified look. She couldn't bear to even be away from him, along with Rome and Hound. What would she ever do without them?"I know you are afraid kids, but I promise," came the reassuring voice of the tall, cinnamon he-wolf Lotus pushed herself up to get a better look of him. "There's better lands to explore out there, full of games, adventures and-" A blood-curdling shriek cut Stanley off mid-sentence, followed by a frantic figure darting in their direction. Their mother. Lotus would recognise that husky voice anywhere. Her eyes were wild with terror as she approached the six of them, Zayn no longer dangling from her maw. “HE’S HERE! HE’S HERE, HE’S HERE, HE’SHEREHEREHEREHERE!” their mother screeched, gasping in between sentences. Who's here? Quentin? Their father? Alphess? Eyes widened with fear, Lotus watched with horror as the alabaster Delta chased their mother in hot pursuit - Cayden was here. This is the end. We've been caughtPanic filled Lotus' mind, and she could no longer hear herself think. Pinning her ears to her skull, Lotus squirmed backwards in alarm, squeezing herself in between Rome and Mutt. Tayla was next. Lotus fervently prayed that before their mother scoop her older sister up, the Delta hadn't reached them. Then, without warning, Lotus felt herself hoisted up in the air, a firm set of teeth securing her in place. Washed with confusion, Lotus began thrashing, whining. However, as Lotus looked up, she was so glad to see her mother's snout. "Miyako, who's com-" Stanley begun. "RUN!" their mother's scream erupted from deep within her throat, blaring in Lotus' ears. Her head was pounding from the whole situation. Wasn't she supposed to be last to go?Lotus felt her body sway vigorously as huge paws began scrambling beneath her. “Stanley, I’m so, so sorry. So—so—so—so—sorry.” she felt the comforting warm ragged breathes of against her neck. But as she stared blankly into the distance, Lotus caught a glimpse of the Delta standing menacingly before the rest of her siblings and Stanley. His glare was filled with so much hatred. His harsh words of threat meant nothing good was coming their way, and Lotus was absolutely horrified. Exit: Borders

ALPHESS MARUSYA | | | | | Marusya slowly pushed down the slope, towards the river. Her pace was quick but Cayden had flew past them. She hummed a little bit, yes this was urgent but she wanted to take this as diplomatic as possible. Russet tail flicked back and forth behind with the motions of her hips as they moved over lumps.
Maleah had stuck to her side, thankfully. She smiled at her friend, they would need to catch up. She wasnt oblivious to the decreased space between Cayden and herself. How very interesting, Marusya mused to herself.
"You know, Maleah," breaking the silence, she eyed her friend with a smile. "You've been really good to both Koga and I, your efforts don't go unnoticed," she praised her companion with a happy shoulder bump.
After her friendly reply, "Have you ever thought of settling down?" Marusya continued to the conversation with a relaxed tone. As if they were on a stroll and not on a mission, even if their pace was quick. Marusya hoped the more personal question didn't spook her.
Humming approval to whatever Maleah said, she would just flash a happy smile her way. Soon though the scents changed, Miyako, her brood, and Stanley's scents clung to the air. They've been here a while. She tried not letting this mistake of her bother her too much. Marusya tried not to blame whatever was happening on herself and lack of foresight.
"Maleah, you're only job is for those pups right now. Protect and nurture them like you did for my own," Marusya said before pushing past the brush and entered into the area. Her tail flaring high as she approached the group of pups and the prone figure of Stanley, and Cayden.
Miyako scent was headed to the borders and Marusya had half a mind to give chase. She was swift but with the tournament, rogues, and the pup offerings she could not afford to be gone long. Plus, Miyako's scent was unique, she would send her best trackers to find her. Maybe this would due good to spread more rumors about their forces, or maybe they'll see her as a rambling idiot.
Letting a sigh pass her lips she turned to see the damage. Five pups her accounted for, two missing. As these pups was her idea, Marusya had taken the time to remember their names. Zayn and Lotus were missing, what a shame, they both showed promise.
"Darlings," she purred with a happy tone, looking each one over, "I'm so glad to see each one of you is ok, probably a little hungry being out here so long?" She stated, looking to see if any heads nodded. "Do not worry about Zayn and Lotus, we will find them and your mother," she continued, "but, you have all been well behaved and deserve a reward."
"Tonight, you will officially meet the Alpha and Alphess of Mortiul, and then you all get to try a special meal tonight, it's the first steps to becoming strong wolves," she hummed happily. Looking to Maleah with a smile she stepped aside.
"For right now, Maleah," she paused and glanced towards Cayden. A quick playful smirk crossed her lips before going to a friendlier one, looking back to her young audience. "And Cayden will be keeping care of you."
With that she looked to Maleah to mingle with the brood before stepping towards Stanley and Cayden. "I have an idea with what we'll do with you tonight," she mused with a devilish smirk. White eyes flicked to Cayden and stepped closer to him, "he speaks any blasphemy or anything that annoys you, you have my permission to dunk his head into the stream, or bite his tongue off," she said with a whisper, making sure none of the pups would hear her.
With all of that out of the way, it was time to head to the caves. Helping Maleah wrangle the pups, she set them to move forward, Cayden and Stanley leading the way. She wanted the pups to see what would happen to those who didn't obey, as well as to keep an eye on the situation and to have eyes on the traitor at all times.

A bad feeling sparked in his gut, as Stanley saw the male before him smirk, ominously. “And who said I wasn’t?”, Cayden responded, proceeding to quickly lunge towards him, forcing the slave to subdue. “If I would have it my way, you would be dead. Right here in front of these pups, for the plan you put in Miyako’s head. But I will leave your fate in the paws of Marusya and Koga once we return to the caves. If you even think of running I will not hesitate to drag you back with broken limbs,” he threatened, leaving the assaulted male with nothing to say. As brainwashed as everybody else. Foolish of me to try to convince him. The orange male knew well Cayden could and absolutely would outrun or/and overpower him, so he didn't really attempt to escape. Stanley hollowly looked at the river's current, finding it's flow and constant sound oddly soothing, despite the situation. The Delta howled, in summoning of Ignasia's Alphess, and appear she did in a manner of minutes. After keeping up their facade with the pups, Marusya directed a sentence towards Stanley. Not a threat no, the bitch finally decided he was not of use any longer. His fate was sealed. "He speaks any blasphemy or anything that annoys you, you have my permission to dunk his head into the stream, or bite his tongue off," the Alphess whispered to Cayden, silencing her ways from the children. Following his captors to his final destination, the slave started to feel fear burning deep inside of his chest. Time was up. Death awaited. Exit to: Caves

cicatricum refertam pulchritudo “ The trek hadn't taken long with their brisk pace. It was clear just from her face alone that she was concerned. The mother of seven beautiful pups, and a fluffy male that had once brought her comfort but now only was a brainless pawn were missing. Truly, nothing good could be happening. The nanny only hoped that the pups were okay. Miyako wasn't the most stable."You know, Maleah," M'lady's voice from beside her snapped her out of her solemn thoughts, "You've been really good to both Koga and I, your efforts don't go unnoticed. Have you ever thought of settling down?" The sudden question caused a falter in the tiny she-wolf's step. Quickly, she tried to recover and walk normally beside her Alphess once again. Was that permission? Or a test? Many times she had seen Marusya twist her way into wolves' minds, and while she was sure that this wasn't the case, doubt still lingered. "No?" her response came out as a question, tentative and testing to see if that was the right answer. Her Alphess gave nothing away, merely a hum. But that soothing sound would soon be met by Miyako's screams. They sent a chill down the Iberian's spine. "HE'S HERE!" echoed across the stream as Cayden approached at pace. Maleah's brows furrowed, angst curling in her stomach as she and Marusya approached closer.
As the small group came into eye-line, Maleah gasped at the scene. Stanley was prone to a wolf she hardly recognized anymore. Miyako's scent was strong, but heading away. But of the tiny bodies she scoured, there were only five heads she could count. Unfortunately, her memories of their names weren't all that clear. She had been there as Koga and Marusya had named each blessing, and as Anubis and Imset cruelly dubbed two of them 'Hound' and 'Mutt,' but which name fit with which face was difficult.
"Maleah, you're only job is for those pups right now. Protect and nurture them like you did for my own," her Alphess commanded simply before the pair approached and separated slightly. "Darlings, I'm so glad to see each one of you is ok, probably a little hungry being out here so long? Do not worry about Zayn and Lotus, we will find them and your mother, but, you have all been well behaved and deserve a reward. Tonight, you will officially meet the Alpha and Alphess of Mortiul, and then you all get to try a special meal tonight, it's the first steps to becoming strong wolves. For right now, Maleah and Cayden will be keeping care of you," she spoke to the hoard of pups. Thank goodness, two names were already down. The first and last born, if she recalled correctly.
Smiling gently at the five remaining pups, Maleah approached the group as Marusya moved to talk to Cayden. "Don't worry little ones, soon you'll be out of the cold and back somewhere nice and warm, and we'll get you something to eat. Did you have fun out by the stream today?" Maleah was honestly, a little overwhelmed at the thought of five pups suddenly under her control, but if she could control four, then she could control five. She tried to distract them from the sudden events with happy memories. Surely, their mother hadn't just screamed at the stream all day. They must've had some fun.
With the business between Stanley and the Delta seemingly done, Maleah urged the pups to follow after the handsome pale pelt with a smile and a flick of her head. One of them, a tiny male, was absolutely covered with mud and snow. How one pup could be so dirty she didn't fully understand, but he was struggling against his heavy coat. With a small giggle of laughter, the nanny hoisted the pup gently in her mouth and continued on with the rest of the hoard back to the caves. Deep down, she knew what meal the pups and likely herself was about to receive, but she wasn't about to drop another bombshell on the darlings like that.”

-Time skip to night- Myles was cold. The happy little pup he was for the rest of the day was slowly fading as he grew tired and more and more cold. The snow wasn't good for keeping his tiny body warm at all! Shivering, he pressed himself up against Tayla with his very dirty fur, hoping to cuddle. Not like Zayn had done before, that kinda hurt. It was a bit too squishy. Moma had gathered them all together, explaining a very fun story. He'd never gotten a bed-time story from Moma, and this adventure she was describing sure sounded like fun! With a small hum of content sleepiness, Myles only noticed a few seconds after the story ended that Zayn was being taken away by Moma. Where was she going? What was she doing? He had to stay quiet though, and stay with Stanley. Moma told him so. His rouge gaze turned to Tayla. Was she scared? Being strong? What did she need him to be? Was this the time to be scared or happy or sad or stoney like a rock? It was a mystery until Moma came back, this time without Zayn, and started screaming a whole bunch. Now Myles was scared. Yes, it was getting darker, but what was so bad out in the darkness? Was Moma scared of the dark? Who was he? Moma snatched up Lotus, and Myles frowned in confusion. "No, Moma! Dayday firsd!" he protested as she bawled and shrieked and ran away. There were so many wolves now, a big fluffy one who he was sure was very warm, another that he recognized from the commons when he poked his head out of the den, and Mistress herself! She was nice, very nice, why was Moma running? The two males were having a nice cuddle pile, and Mistress and the nice wolf were already over there. There sure was a lot going on! The tired pup yawned, not protesting to being carried after his little legs stuck together from the mud. -Exit to The Caves-

Tayla had been listening idly to what her mother was saying, watching her carry off Zayn. She wished she had chosen Mutt, Hound or even Rome to take. But at least she had Myles to play with while they waited. But, Stanley was there to. She took her time to come over to him, approaching cautiously. “Why does mom like you? You don’t see like much,” She bluntly stated, looking up towards him with curious eyes. “And why are you trying to escape? No one has done anything wrong. Mom just freaks out over the stupidest of things,” She rolled her eyes at this. But her mother returned at that time, and it seemed that Tayla would be next, but screeching came piercing her ears, making her cower to the ground and cover them as her mother had an episode right then and there.
“My ears!” She complained, glaring at her mother. “What is your issue?” She hissed, but she was cut off as her mother took off for the borders with Lotus. Great. Looking up, she noticed the Delta, he was moving swiftly and with a purpose. She watched as he confronted Stanley, not bothering to listen to what they had to say to each other. Instead, she brought herself to Myles side, seeing as her brother was tired, she lay down with him, keeping herself there as she waited for the whole ordeal to be done. Maleah grabbed her brother, and she brought herself to her feet, trotting after quietly.
