His baby blue eyes gleamed in the midday sun as he set his sights upon his opponent: the silky white figure of Psyche. Another tournament held between Ignasia and Mortiul, the perfect opportunity for the brute to step up and show his worth. A smirk was quickly set on his lips as the pair would get into position to prepare for the battle that was to ensure upon the Alpha's command. He took this chance to throw in a quick remark. "Y'know, when I said I hoped to see you again, this isn't quite what I had in mind," he hoped that the thought of what could have been between them would get in her head and throw her off, as it was only seconds after his comment that Adramalech barked at them to begin.
Endymion darted forward, eager to make the first move as he would immediately aim to grab her scruff in his jaws. He would position a leg on the opposite side of her body to try and keep her from ducking away from his lunge, but he could do nothing if she were to jump back in time to miss his snapping teeth as he would aim to latch on to the loose portion of skin at the nape of her neck.
* If his attack was successful, Endymion would snarl against the fur in his mouth, trying to steal her attention with the vocalisation as he would push his larger body against her, aiming to push her off of her feet and get her body on the floor as quickly as possible, as he knew that once she was beneath him he would truly have the upper-hand in this battle. The brute was physically stronger than Psyche, so it shouldn't have been a problem for him to overpower her and send her crashing to the floor, but she was agile, and he would have to be careful not to give her a chance to slip out of his grasp.
* If his attack was unsuccessful, Endymion would attempt to jump back away from Psyche, knowing that her slight advantage with a slimmer body would be his doom if he wasn't careful. His build was bulky and clumsy compared to her, and despite his wit and accuracy being honed after years of training, he was cursed with the weight of his brawn. A growl would rip through the air, a sign of his annoyance as he would realise just how dangerous his opponent could be if he wasn't watching her every sharp move. Endymion would hold off for now after his failed attempt at a first attack, figuring that he might be able to initiate a successful rebuttal if she was the one to attack him.

“Y'know, when I said I hoped to see you again, this isn't quite what I had in mind." The teasing voice cut through the spring air, slipping from smirking lips as though the pair were meeting at the mountain stream, not the battle ring. Psyche only smiled in kind to Endymion, her porcelain mask as carefully fixed as ever, even in the face of a duel. He would try to unbalance her, and she would do the same. “It truly is a pity,” she replied, mock sorrow in her eyes - eyes that were harder than ever before. Her body, typically oh-so at ease, was tense and ready despite the composure in her voice. “I very much liked y -” Before the ivory female could finish her sly comment, a harsh bark echoed across the ring from Adremalech’s maw. Immediately, the handsome male opposite her lunged forward. Psyche sucked in a sharp breath, twisting her body as she leapt backward. It was far too close for comfort; his muzzle had been near enough that she felt his hot breath on her neck as she sprung away. His leg, aloft to prevent her from lunging to the side to avoid his attack had he reached her before she moved back, brushed against her pelt. For a moment, the male seemed to hold back. The female took advantage of the pause, assuming it would be brief, and assessed the situation. He was much larger than her - and slower as a result. He was faster than she had anticipated however; the ghost of snapping teeth at her scruff was evidence enough. Beyond that, he was stronger than her by far. If he was able to capture her in his grasp - or worse, get her beneath him - it could mean a very quick end to the battle. One that would not end in her favor. Pushing out a breath, the female moved. Her long limbs carried her swiftly toward the brute. As she neared, she would weave sideways, giving a wide berth to his powerful jaws before arcing back in to his hopefully-exposed flank. There, her sharp teeth would snap viciously, attempting to connect with any flesh possible. * If her attack was successful, she would quickly clamp her teeth down and twist her head as she disconnected and darted away, aiming to go in for another quick jab. Her aim was not to wholly tear flesh away just yet - that would leave her within Endymion’s reach for far longer than she was ready for. Instead, she would hope to do just enough damage to slow him down further. Just enough to tire him out. * If her attack proved unsuccessful, the female would hurriedly attempt to dive away; her body was very close to her opponent’s, and his snapping teeth and powerful body would easily be the death of her id she wasn’t careful. If her failed attempt wasn’t met with an assault from him, Psyche would stand back for a moment as Endymion had, panting slightly. Her lips would curve into a smile as she would say, “Do you think perhaps we’ll be friends in another life, then? I don’t know that today ends the best for our companionship.” To keep him off-guard was one of her greatest hopes for success. The grin across her features would not waver despite the fear clenching in her gut; fear that this day would be her downfall. Paladin Endymion (OOC: I hope it's okay that I had her dodge, I wasn't sure I could realistically get her away from Endymion if he had grabbed her by the scruff and I wanted to keep the battle going for at least a bit longer! I'm still a tad bit new to battle scenes, so hopefully it's all alright!)

ENDYMION VS. PSYCHEEndymion - First Post -1 Powerplaying | Only gives Psyche the option of lunging away in the beginning of the fight. +1 Clearness | Gives a clear description of what Endymion is going to do, and how he will do it. +1 Realism | Takes into consideration the difference in size, and the fact that Psyche is much more agile than Endymion is. Psyche - First Post +1 Fairness | Noticing Psyche’s disadvantage in strength, but advantage in agility. -1 Unclear | It’s very unclear what Psyche did for an attack, especially with the whole making a loop to attack Endymion. New Scores: Endymion: 1 Psyche: 0 Victor: Paladin Endymion
