O C E A N general of somnus
I'm not that old, he thought. Ever since he could walk, Ocean had stayed completely fit and able. He didn't see himself ever becoming an old, lame wolf unable to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. He was in complete denial of that stage in life, and refused to look ahead at it. By staying healthy and practiced, he hoped to maintain his good state longer than most wolves.
Upon entering the hunting grounds, the faint scent of a particularly large mammal rose from the ground like a fog. The dissonant savors of long-gone coys and foxes implied that none had succeeded in catching the beast. Ocean was glad to be the first conquerer of the week.
"Follow me. Stay behind the brush," he said to everyone quietly. The moose was quite far, but startling any other creatures in the area may create unwanted distractions that would push the moose even farther. He was silent as he traveled north, wind thankfully pushing against his fur. The moose's fragrance pushed against him, revealing that the beast was north by the water.
"There." He stopped, peeking his orbs through the bush's openings. Faint rays of sunlight shined on a young female moose, drinking and bathing in the shallow area of the river. There was no doubt about what needed to be done in order to succeed. He turned to the hunters, and spoke quietly.
"Alright, here's what's going to happen. The water has a biting cold to it in this weather, so the physically healthiest of us are going to have to take it on. Uzumati and Trico, you and I are going to meet the moose in the water, swim, and chase it to the other side. Topaz and Storm will be waiting directly across. Fleur," he began, looking at her with interest. "You'll be waiting at the bottom of the river in case we go off path. If necessary, you'll need to jump in and herd it back towards Topaz and Storm. Otherwise, once it's on the other side, go ahead and meet us there. You'll help take it down."
He faced the river and began heading out. "Let's go. Don't screw anything up, please." As the group began heading further north, a period for questions came to arise.
The generator gave us a moose for the hunt, and a result of success with injuries. You can decide, based on your wolf's physical strength and skill, whether it'll suffer some damage. Nobody needs to end with broken bones though, lol. PM me if you're confused about anything in the post

The large expanse of plains that greeted Uzumati's eyes made the large brute smile softly. The Somnus hunting grounds were serene. The cooling breeze that brushed the tops of the grasses buffeted him lightly as well. Crisp leaves from the far spread trees floated in the wind, hitching a ride to who knows where. There were few flowers at this time of year. Why would there be? He knew from experience that during autumn, the insects died and the birds migrated south. Putting out flowers would be a waste of energy for the plants, especially as there was a no doubt harsh winter approaching. The same could be said for the mammals that occupied the territory. Everything was trying to gain as much bulk as possible in order to survive the hardships of winter. In his mind, that was why hunting in autumn allowed for more meat per animal, and therefore better hunting overall. "Follow me. Stay behind the brush," the voice of the party leader snapped him out of his peaceful thoughts. He didn't say his name yet, or if he did, Uzumati had missed it. Even so, asking now would violate the rule just put into place of staying concealed from the prey. Drinking in the scents on the breeze through his nose, Uzu recognized a distinct musk that wasn't any of the wolves. A moose. That would provide sustenance for the pack easily, but that assumed that they were going to kill it successfully. The albino giant had been in many hunts were something went wrong and the prey had escaped. The dangers of moose hunting were not invisible to Uzumati. When he still lived with his pack much further north, a wolf was kicked by a bull moose during a hunt. That single kick resulted in numerous rib fractures, a bruised lung and liver, and ultimately death. "There," his assumptions were confirmed as the truly massive ebony brute pointed out the moose. A previously unknown sense of exhilarated dread filled him. Fleur, you'll be waiting at the bottom of the river in case we go off path. If necessary, you'll need to jump in and herd it back towards Topaz and Storm. Otherwise, once it's on the other side, go ahead and meet us there. You'll help take it down. Let's go. Don't screw anything up, please," a solid hunting plan was quickly established. Uzumati's cranberry and plum eyes blinked as he dipped his head, acknowledging that he would do his duty to the best of his abilities. It would be difficult and risky, but with a hunting party of six, they had a much higher chance of succeeding. As they approached the river and moose, Uzumati looked between his two other counterparts, making sure they were in position first. Bolting off as a lone wolf would make him look not only selfish, but stupid. Then he scouted the other side of the river for Topaz and Storm, but he could not see them. That was good, he guessed. Standing in plain sight would make the moose run towards the three tanks and differ greatly from the hunting plan. He mostly watched the ebony brute's movements, and when he shoved himself forwards, Uzumati mimicked the action. With a startled belt, the moose's lanky limbs made way into the river. Leaving a few meters between him and the heavy hitting hooves, Uzumati hit the water running. The crisp waters penetrated his outer layer of fur easily, but the insulating layer of fur beneath it kept him relatively warm. He grew up in literal freezing conditions, hunting in zero degree waters and living in an almost eternal winter for the two years of his life. Nostalgia hit him as he swan after the beast, pushing it towards the other side of the waterway. The frigid waters were almost a cradle to him. He grew up swimming and providing for himself from streams and lakes very similar to this river. The sheer fact that the river was a part of Somnus made Uzumati smile. He had made the right choice coming here. He had found a second family that not only thought like him, but also had aspects of his childhood in their territory. Of course there would be no ice until the seasons changed, but Uzumati could easily wait for that. He was a very patient male. The splash of the moose's hooves as they hit the other side of the bank brought him back to reality. This was a dangerous hunt, that had disastrous consequences if he did not pay attention. With a rumbling bark, the albino gargantuan persuaded the moose out of the water. He doubted that she would want to stay in the river anyways. It was a place of low mobility, and was currently occupied by three giant wolves. Her boxy head swung from left to right, searching for a direction to run that would provide her with safety from the wolves that surrounded her. While she frantically searched, Uzumati took the opportunity to give his pelt a violent shake, spraying the near frozen water in a halo around him. He could only hope that the rest of the hunt went well. The first stage was done, but the difficult part lie ahead. The actual take down of the beast. Her eyes sparkled with excitement when Ocean had agreed for her tag along, and she was glad she had made the decision to ask the larger brute. The group entered the hunting grounds. The cold caressed her glowing face, winds whooshing past, painting the colors of autumn with the leaves it carried on its back. Fleur gazed out into the open, the grass as if waving a friendly hello to the damsel, while she walked behind the tall ebony male. She made quick haste to follow him, hunches low as they hid behind the brush. A while the male spoke Fleur could not help but slip a glance at the large moose, the majestic creature sipping at the river that would soon be frozen. Large hooves and sturdy legs long pillars that held up the females frame, and a thick muscly neck that held up her head and the golden glory and her finest trophies. Her antlers. It was only a momentary glance, before her attention was snapped away from the moose at the sound of her name. Fleur nodded. There was no time to waste, as the males made their move the female slipped back and towards the bottom of the river, quiet and quick so she wouldn’t alert the moose. Thankfully by the time she had reached her position the hunt had begun, and the chase was on. For a thoughtful moment, Fleur had realized she was ultimately the lightest of the bunch, though of course not the shortest, but rather the speediest, and the one with the least mass. Would they even need me? The single doubt came as a surprise, even to herself, but now was not the time. With a shake of her head she let out a yip before splashing into the water, whatever thoughts the moose would have had in heading her way would hopefully be diminished by her dive, legs paddling hard has she swam diagonal to the moose, keeping a possible exit route blocked. The hunt would be fast, tough and hopefully exhilarating; Fleur already experiencing the rush of adrenaline that flowed through her form as she begun to near the other side of the bank, ready to push on for the next stretch of the hunt that would truly test all their skills.

Their hunting leader for the day, of which he learned of the males name to be Ocean, was quite curt with his actions it seemed. Arriving here was a bit of a trek, about an hours worth of walking, though the beasts long legged strides kept him in place after the obsidian male. Although generally captivated on rehearsing what he should do depending on what animal they hunted, like always Trico found his mind wandering occasionally as he let his eyes focus on some inanimate object that resided in the vast forests of Somnus. For instance, earlier the large brute had casually passed by a rather odd but pretty looking flower, his cranium physically traveling with his eyes as he studied it for a moment before loosing interest. I'd be a wonderful flower to propose to a young and pure child simply to view the smile of satisfaction on their features. Alas, generally the beast took note of the wariness on pups faces when they came across him; a huge wolf probably four or five times their height that could squash them under his weight. Yes, he was well aware of what some others thought of him. Then again, as his eyes jadedly floated up to the large midnight brute, Trico wondered if he experienced the same things, or worse, considering he was taller than him. That fact bothered him just slightly, knowing that he wasn't quite the biggest wolf of the land anymore. No matter, there was nothing he could do about it. Trico couldn't simply make himself grow, much less was this such a dire matter that he needed to regain his place as the biggest. Upon entering the hunting grounds which appeared no different than the rest of the territory, the group came to slow ever so slightly, only because they were now slinking through the brush in secrecy. Predators was always the first thing he specifically smelled for, and fortunately all the smaller predators, only foxes and coyotes as it seemed, were long gone from the area for now. On top of this, the lingering freshness of moose hinted in the air, a calm breeze guiding the scent trail towards them. It was far, but Trico understood Oceans thought process to a point. If they happened to frighten an alert system like a group of birds, they would take flight and voice their distress for miles to hear. Eventually they arrived, his bright orangey hues finding an unclear brown mass behind a layer of brush and trees moving ever so slightly around the water's edge. There would be no other way to hunt the female down besides chasing her to the other side of the water. Trying to chase her along the riverbank would be awkward, not to mention incredibly pointless. " Alright, here's what's going to happen. The water has a biting cold to it in this weather, so the physically healthiest of us are going to have to take it on. Uzumati and Trico, you and I are going to meet the moose in the water, swim, and chase it to the other side. Topaz and Storm will be waiting directly across. Fleur, you'll be waiting at the bottom of the river in case we go off path. If necessary, you'll need to jump in and herd it back towards Topaz and Storm. Otherwise, once it's on the other side, go ahead and meet us there. You'll help take it down." the obsidian brute would say, validating his evaluation. Trico nodded simply, the plan sounding clear and begging no obvious questions. Swimming wasn't exactly a practiced trait of his, but like any physically able wolf he could do it. The river's current would push against him and in this scenario, he would have to swim diagonally to the current and fight it a little. The least that he come to conclusion of was that this would be the easiest part. With no questions from himself or Uzumati, the hunt was in motion and Trico would jump into action the moment Ocean did. The male bounded forward, but ultimately was a pace or two behind the others, which wasn't terrible. His muscles tensed, fighting to carefully distribute his weight on his paws as he neared the moose. 196 lbs was a definite hindrance to the males agility, but given that this hunt was successful, he would aid the most when it came time to drag the moose down. The large brute released a low, baritone and threatening bark toward the female, alerting her that she'd be in the jaws of three large wolves if she didn't get moving. Moose could be daring creatures, and he knew that by past experience, but charging three big wolves was obviously not the best option. His bulky form charged the water so suddenly he didn't have time to fret about the cold temperature, and soon enough his paws lost hold of the ground underneath him. Stamina thankfully was on his side, but swimming period paired with swimming against the current made his muscles scream as he fought to rush himself to the other side. In short time, his large paws found the ground once again and Trico would hoist himself out of the water. His task was not over yet, though. Trico began to jog forward, only stopping momentarily to give way to the nagging feeling that he needed to shake out the water from his coat first. Topaz and Storm should have already charged the moose, which would probably leave the female to turn to fall back into the water only to find the rest of them waiting. With nothing better to do, Trico ran to close off any small escape route before letting his hues glance toward the others, waiting for someone to strike first.

Storm comes in with the others, eyes flicking around to take in the surroundings. Where the water is, the trees, where the bushes are and where the trails come and go. Things he needs to know. When Ocean points out the moose and tells them to stay behind the bush before coming up with a plan, he waits. Wanting to hear what the wolf has to say, what he comes up with. When he is given his task with Topaz, he nods once before looking at the other wolf, wanting to know his partner for the hunt. Knowing the size of his partner and the condition he is in would be helpful in determining how they would work best, but seeing as he sees no problems, he just starts to making his way across to the other side, keeping silent and low so his light fur doesn't stand out or be seen suddenly. That would hinder the hunt is the moose was able to see him coming. Once in position, he crouches and watches, waiting for the signal to go. O C E A N general of somnus
Ocean began stalking into the icy depths of the river as soon as he felt the wind push against his wet nose. A shortened exhalation forced itself out through the suddenly tensing muscles in his chest. He expected the water's biting chill, but was mistakingly unprepared for its wrath. He kicked his legs with utmost strength and speed, only to warm his body and build adrenaline, for there was plenty of time before the winds shifted and gave away the hunters' positions.
As it did, the beast altered its direction and found the wolves stalking it from the east, and found no other solution than to swim towards the west, but alas, there waited the remainder of the hunting party. To the south, along with its other misfortunate discoveries, was another canine ready to take action. To the beast's north was miles of water through which it could not make the trip through without drowning if not through freezing.
It chose the west, as planned, and the hunting party commenced proceedingly. At the moose's rear were the muscles of the party: Ocean, Uzumati, and Trico. At its front were Topaz and Storm, a defensive duo that would suffer the job of confronting the animal. At the creature's flank was Fleur, who wasn't adept enough to handle the rear nor the front. She was in the safest position she could be in, and Ocean ordered her there for that reason.
At this point, the large mammal had no choice but to defend itself. If anyone were to get too close to it, they'd suffer severe injuries. Suddenly, Ocean remembered Rage and his final battle. It was that very reason that the alpha lost his life, and Ocean began to fear he might have led these wolves into serious danger.
"Don't get too close! Attack it one at a time!" Ocean yelled to the hunting party with urgency. Ocean pushed his weight forward and latched his jaws onto the mammal's ankle, piercing his teeth into the cartilage. The others would commence their attacks, hopefully in an organized, clockwise position, until it came time for Ocean to make the kill.
I sincerely apologize for my middle-school level writing right here, but I needed to get something up. How about every one makes just one more post so they can attack, and I'll close off the hunt? I'm utterly ashamed of this post lol |

The tension was growing, and like her soggy pelt, the air became thick and heavy. This moose was going to be a challenge, the damsel felt sick to her stomach as she watched the large mammal bound and splash it’s way to shore, recklessly moving, insanely paddling, driven with a single force, the need to survive. Eyes caught themselves darting all over the place. This wolf, that wolf, this wolf. Ocean! She sighed in relief as she saw he was alright. But she on the other hand was still a little too frantic as she paddled to the other side. Breathing hitched as worrisome thoughts overshadowed positive ones, and the idea that this might not be a successful hunt had begun to scare her. But her eyes then befell on him. Watched him swim to shore with nothing but an aura that exuded confidence. She recalled his name to be Trico, the hefty wolf a massive fellow compared to her, and yet simply watching settled her frantic state. “Ooff!” She hit the bank with a thud. She was on the other side… Eyes peered wide at the realization before a sudden change of expression, one of much more strength than before. No time to waste. Like a bolt of lightning she sprang from her position, galloping forward without a hitch. Only a few strides needed before reaching the rest, and moose. Unlike the rest, Fleur couldn’t hold down a bite for as long as the rest, she was just too light. Once Ocean made his attack she followed suit. The flash of white darted forward, jaws aiming to bite down on the Moose’s mid-section, head writhing left and right on the saggy bit of fat, before releasing and bolting back, only just merely avoid a pair of legs that swung round to meet her before the moose moved its attention towards the other threats. Though the female had avoided one threat in process a rock had been in the path she fled, tripping and tumbling down to the dust. She was fine. She quickly spun to a stand, not wanting to look stupid receive embarrassment. But as she returned back into fighting stance, she could feel a slight pain ripple through her paw as she applied weight. It was probably sprained she thought, trying to ignore the throb as she focused on the ongoing hunt. General Ocean @trico @topaz @storm @uzumati OOC: (There we go )

When everyone else started to leave the group and go to their positions, Storm did just that as well, moving through the water as fast as he can, though while also trying not to make large splashing or noise. He wanted out of this water as fast as he could, the cold was eating away very quickly at the warmth he had when he got here. Moving helps to keep him warm in the water, but not as much as he had been before going for this swim. Getting over to the designated spot, Storm looks over at his companion for the hunt and nods to him, saying ready silently with the nod so that he knows. They have to move together to do this, going alone will get someone hurt, or worse dead. He waits for the signal and when its go time, Storm pushes off with his hind legs hard, rushing at the moose while it is distracted with Ocean chopping on its leg. Storm leaps and bites down on its right shoulder hard before shaking his head and his body to get more movement, all the while his teeth digging in deeper in the animals flesh and muscle. After just a few moments though, then the moose turns its attention towards him, or his way anyways, he releases the shoulder and leaps back as soon as he hits the ground. At this time, he knows that if the moose was a male, its antlers could very well have already hit someone, but since this was a female, it didn't have any. Uzumati nodded obediently at Ocean's yell, "Don't get too close! Attack it one at a time!" Moose were not a beast to take lightly, not at all. A kick from this female could crack a skull. He'd seen it happen once before, and he was keen for that not to happen here. He kept his distance from the cow's hooves as Ocean launched his attack first, grabbing onto the ankle of the moose. That should weaken her, putting her off balance, and allowing her to fall to their jaws easier. One of the existing Somnus wolves, he believed her name was Fleur, attacked next. Her bite wasn't as long as Ocean's, but if was her eagerness to contribute to the hunt that brought a smile to his albino lips. Next, one of the wolves he arrived with, Storm, leaped onto the moose's shoulder. Most of the moose had been attacked, so there were few safe options for the albino gargantuan to bite. Noticing the clockwise direction of the attacks, Uzumati decided that it was his time to step up to attack. Looking around, he decided to attack the moose's left shoulder in order to weaken her entire front half. Backing up before starting his huge body off at a run, Uzumati gained a large amount of velocity. With his huge weight going at speed, he launched himself off his strong haunches and onto the moose's shoulder. Her startled cry at his weight affecting her balance did nothing to stop the albino from digging his teeth into her shoulder. He shook his head from side to side, tearing at the muscles in her shoulder before releasing his grip. He pushed off her shoulder, landing back on the ground hard. With a huff, he gently shook his paw. He landed hard on it, but he didn't think it was anything other than a temporary shock injury. There were only a few more wolves left to attack, so the moose should be coming down soon enough. General Ocean @trico @fleur @storm @topaz

O C E A N general of somnus
He inhaled with great tension as he recalled back to the lingering uncertain silence that foreshadowed the hunt. There were two assumptions to be made that the hunters had saved zero questions for Ocean's plan: either they fully understood the premise and what they were to do to enact it, or they were self-critical pantywaists too afraid of misunderstanding a less than complex instruction given by a most intimidating superior. Before anything had commenced, Ocean was certain that he had led the hunters into a situation they were not prepared for, but now, he was rather satisfied with the results of the hunt. He should not become so conceited, however, not just yet.
Ocean was undoubtedly the largest of the group, and thereby came with a heavier layer of fur that was soaked in piercingly wintry water. He had certainly become denser and less maneuverable as a result, so, a latch onto the beast's ankle was about as superb a move as he could convene until his coat were to dry. As the rest of the wolves made there attacks, some approvable and some less so, Ocean took time a short moment to shake his body, sending droplets across the area.
As shaky vision came to clear, cadmium orbs dashed to see Fleur's little body met with the greenery. His legs jabbed and proceeded to tense as he protectively prepared to careen towards her, but Ocean could not risk the order of the hunt, risking the safety of all others, to protect that of one. His heart slowed in relief as the little wolf came to her feet and continued to prepare herself. He shook his head and laughed to himself, a stressed smile shortly occupying his face.
Storm's performance, which followed Fleur's short spectacle, was less than par, and provided only a distraction, and therefor an easy opening for Uzumati to make a more powerful attack. Ocean barked to congratulate Storm for a helpful maneuver, and to provide a fuel of confidence for Uzumati's active assault.
Trico was unavailable as he had fallen behind the rest of the wolves, and Topaz would have to compensate for the missing body. In a heap of unimpressive prowess, the lesser canid did none but to weaken the beast's alternate flank with a long-lasting latch. This duration was possible due to the large mammal's attentive focus on her dripping, torn front-side.
The order had circled back to Ocean. The target had turned to face Topaz and punish him for his assault, leaving the side of her neck open to Ocean. By this time, the female specimen was half of her initial height as she hung in distress, agony, and hopelessness. Still, Ocean would give her a reputable death as nature demanded for such a beautiful creature. With nothing less than a fierce inclination towards the beast, Ocean struck at her nape. His teeth became submerged in thick, warm ichor. Storm and Uzumati had done Ocean the favor of disabling her front operatives, and giving the prey the only choice but the fling her head around like a helpless animal. The massive brute had begun to slip from the targeted grip--he quickly raised his right paw, and gouge into the animal's mask while repositioning his bite, this time aiming for the artery. With a final grasp onto the beast's pipe, Ocean had succeeded in finalizing the hunt...
"Well done," he praised once the prey had fallen at the feet of the victors. The hunting superior eyed around his subordinates, tracking for any injuries and guilt-worthy traumas, but all to fear was a limping Fleur. He expected nothing other of Fleur than to acquire a small sore, for at her level and physical match there was almost no lesser guarantee. Ocean could, however, offer some comfort to the less-deserving lass.
"Don't worry about that. It'll be gone by morning." Ocean shook his pelt once more, ridding his pelt some of blood and cold water, which had become a favor to his hot, heaving self. He barked out to the others as he headed off towards the commons, "Go ahead an gorge. I will retrieve everyone."

Panting, the gargantuan beast watched as the absolutely huge male he knew to be Ocean take advantage of the moose. She was severely wounded, so finding a place to bite was not a challenge. Her head swung back and forth close to the ground as the combined efforts of the wolves' attacks brought her front legs crumbling down. The boulder of a wolf slammed his teeth into her neck, readjusting at one point in order to kill the cow as quickly as possible. Blood oozed out of the beast, staining Ocean's muzzle as it had done to Uzumati's when he attacked. On the pure white male, the crimson of the moose's blood showed up much more dramatically; it splattered around his muzzle and a few drops had sprayed onto his chest. "Well done," Ocean congratulated the hunting party once the moose was noticeably dead. Uzumati breathed out a sigh of relief. The only injuries he could see was the small she-wolf Fleur favoring one of her paws, and the small bit of ground shock that he had experienced when he had leaped off the moose, but that was long gone. "Don't worry about that. It'll be gone by morning," the monstrous brute spoke again, seemingly noticing the same things he had. The albino wolf was truly relieved that the only obvious injuries weren't life threatening or fatal. He didn't need to experience that again. His multi-chromatic eyes followed Ocean as he headed back to what he was pretty sure was the common grounds. "Go ahead and gorge. I will retrieve everyone," he called back, sparking a respectful nod from the confident male. Before he moved towards the moose, he trotted heavily back over towards the river. He wanted to get some of the blood out of his fur before it stained too badly. A large patch of red flowing down his chest didn't match the teddy bear persona that he wanted to uphold. He didn't want to look scary to others, he wanted to seem friendly. Even if it's just moose blood, it still held a negative connotation. Wading into the river, he used both his tongue and his paws to return his pelt to it's original snowy colour. Once he felt that most of the blood was off, he clambered out of the river and gave himself a hearty shake Trotting back over to the carcass of the moose, Uzumati sunk his teeth into the meat. He pulled back, yanking off a large chunk of meat. Most of the wolves here were new Somnus members, so as much as he wanted to interact with them, he supposed that he should probably branch out to the existing members first. Moving over to wherever the small ivory female was, he would plop down a comfortable distance away from her. "Fleur, right? How's your paw?" his deep timbre floated over towards her before he took a large bite out of his steak. General Ocean @fleur @topaz @trico @storm

Eyes softened with relief, and chest collapsed with a sigh as the hunt came to an end. Naturally she searched for the presence of all the members, checking each tired canine face for any source of unhappiness or dismay. To Fleur, it was important they were all alright, mentally, and physically. Well, she knew Ocean had his eyes more on the physical aspect when checking, a confirmed thought when he addressed her front paw.
"Don't worry about that. It'll be gone by morning."
Fleur smiled in appreciation and nodded in understanding… and well, also knowing. Being so child-like did come with its own consequences, long limbs bouncing around like bendy springs would have their tipping points from time to time… a slip here, a fall there, she hadn’t had no shortage of miss calculated attempts that led to well… falling. Though it did suddenly dawned on her that she was getting older.
The damsel quickly shook her pelt to rid of the unwanted, and limp or no limp she moved towards the carcass eagerly, a wag in her fluffy tail apparent. She began to chew at the fleshy meat when someone had addressed her.
Stood over her share of the meat she lifted her head almost lazily, but amber eyes never failed to shine their spark with every blink. “Mhmm…” She chewed. Swallowed. Then replied. “Oh it’s alright… nothing too bad.” She commented. The right foreleg clearly lifted a few inches off the ground. “You can’t really call it a hunt without the casualties… sometimes, it’s part of the fun.” She chirped, before going and yanking another shred of skin to chew and swallow. And then, sort of randomly she would ask. “So, have ya been in a pack before, or this ya first one?”

Topaz watched indifferently as his packmates tucked into their share of the meal. Padding forward, the muscled brute grabbed a chunk of the leaner part of the deer - admittedly, not the best part, but he’d been taught to reserve the nutrient dense selection for the Superiors, Elders, and young. Nibbling half heartedly at his share, brightened eyes bore into the ground with obvious displeasure. His performance in the hunt was mediocre, disappointingly so. His aptitude for combat had yet to be revealed, and Topaz fretted that it wouldn’t - that he’d simply live as a meager hunter. Reluctantly, he finished up his share of the meal. Normally, he’d savor the kill, but the kill to him was tasteless. How would he ever enjoy a kill with so much information on the cusp of being discovered?
Angling caramel auricles toward the conversation between an alabaster duo a few feet away, Topaz opted to busy himself neatening his appearance. Rasping a pink tongue over his shoulders, he listened boredly to the conversation unraveling so close.
OOC: So sorry about not posting in the hunt. ;-; Here's a crappy post to hold this guy over for now. @uzumati , @fleur , @storm , General Ocean

His pink and purple eyes kept watch over the she-wolf as she chewed, looking at the paw she was favoring above the ground. “Oh it’s alright… nothing too bad,” she responded as he swallowed, “You can’t really call it a hunt without the casualties… sometimes, it’s part of the fun.” He initially disagreed, but kept his mouth shut both because it was respectful, and he had food in it. The gentle giant would much prefer to have a hunt without any injuries whatsoever. The amount of times he had seen somebody get hurt in a hunt was not fun at all.
“So, have ya been in a pack before, or this ya first one?” Uzumati smiled in response. No one had asked him that question before. With his lunch finished, he took a moment to think. "First one since birth. So I guess this is my first one, but also my second, he chuckled, "What about you, Fleur?" He set about cleaning the blood from his meal off of his albino pelt while he waited for the smaller she-wolf to respond.

Fleur casually went back to nudging at the carcass with her canines, gently nipping away at the flesh. Upon hearing his reply she'd chuckle, swallowing a final small clump of meat she took a step away from the carcass. "Same here." She'd respond, before turning her head to gaze to another newly joined member. "What about you Topaz?" Fleur would ask with a genuine smile, feeling bad she had left him out of the conversation. Fleur never minded small talk, while others strayed away from what consisted to them as a boring conversation Fleur sought after it. Why not help fill an awkwardness and indulge in day to day happenings, she did it to help those that were new to feel comfortable and welcomed, and broke the ice to start a conversation that could lead in many directions.
The wind around them had settled, the crisp leaves of the trees no longer swaying harshly as the sun shone down on the little group. Fleur was excited to eventually be joined by the rest of the pack, hopefully they would appreciate a job well done by these new wolves, and hopefully they would get to stay.
