"I think I will either travel over to the neutral region or head to the rogue lands. Would you be interested in becoming my travel companion? Or do you have a place in mind already where you wish to go?" Becoming Mayerthu's travel companion? It seemed as though the older one was a mind reader. Spirit had already been prepared all along to inquire about that after Mayerthu gave her response. "I'd be more than glad to travel with you!" Spirit yapped excitedly, wagging her tail. When Spirit returned her gaze to the bloodied up wolf, warm, hazel brown eyes suddenly flew open. Spirit's heart nearly skipped a beat. Stunned, Spirit stumbled backwards, accidentally releasing the pressure she applied with her paws. The alabaster she-wolf blinked. After a moment of squinting, the injured one seemed to have noticed the duo. "Ugh...Sorry. I'm Sage. Thanks for helping me. I appreciate it." she managed to whisper huskily. Upon hearing Sage's feeble voice, Spirit smiled back assuringly: "It's okay. You'll be alright, help is on the way. Just hang in there."Right on cue, two pack wolves approached them. "Please lie back down! Any movement could start blood flow back up again!" The ebony male barked, panicking as Sage stirred to her paws. Perhaps still dazed by everything that was going on, Sage seemed to take a long time to comprehend his instructions, but finally complied. Spirit stared at the he-wolf's snout and took in a deep breath, wondering where she had seen him before and why his scent was vaguely familiar. "Two wounds, both moderately deep bite marks on the left front leg. Definitely helped that you applied pressure, thank you, you two." he continued, still oblivious to Spirit's pro-longed gaze. Spirit was glad that she was of help, and nodded respectfully towards the new pair before excusing herself. The yearling had no idea what the goldenrod was until she noticed the herb in the he-wolf's mouth. Intrigued, Spirit watched attentively in the distance, taking note of everything the healers were doing. Of course, she still didn't know how each medication would help to heal those wounds, especially the cobwebs. Mayerthu shared the same fascination as Spirit, and approached the duo, requesting them to teach her more later. However, the other younger lady had her paws full tending to the fallen's wounds, and perhaps the Mayerthu came a little too close. The charcoal-coated she-wolf accidentally knocked into her partner while trying to keep a distance between herself and Mayerthu. Ears pricked, Spirit listened to her snapping away at Mayerthu, which the yearling felt was being rather disrespectful to an elder. However, as the healer was indeed busy, Spirit couldn't quite blame her for lashing out at Mayerthu for the sudden disturbance. From the younger she-wolf's speech, Spirit gathered that she and the other he-wolf were still apprentices, learning from their Salutary. After watching the he-wolf for a long while, something seemed to click. Corvidae. The rock-chewer. Is that him? Spirit squinted, trying to concentrate on the memory of meeting him back in the calming coastline. Patiently, the youngest one watched as the matt black she-wolf wisely advised Sage on what to do next, and reminded her that the Alpha's decision was over everything else. The latter sounded like a warning, and seemed slightly threatening. Spirit quietly waited for the right moment, before piping up: "Corvidae?"Sage Mayerthu Apprentice Nevermore Apprentice Corvidae

Mayerthu crossed and uncrossed her front paws three times looking at the grass as the she-wolf helper who was blind snapped away at her. She couldn't help but let out a short snort of laughter. "Pardon my intrusion Ma'am, Where I'm from wolves act a bit differently I'm still getting adjusted to y'all's customs" Mayerthu cocked her head to the side and sniffed the air. Momentarily wondering what it would be like to lose her sight. " And I take it that y'all don't greet each other with a sniff 'round here, I should probably keep that in mind in case I run into easily offended wolves, and don't worry I'm one random wolf that won't bother y'all anymore" Mayerthu carried on with a hint of sarcasm her drawl getting worse the more that she spoke. Mayerthu turned to Spirit. "You know this wolf?" She gestured to the wolf she called Corvidae with a nod. Then looked at the pair of healer wolves and lowered her tail respectfully. Waiting for something to happen but unsure of what exactly she was waiting for. Apprentice Corvidae Apprentice Nevermore Spirit Sage OOC: Mayerthu is naturally snarky but knows when she's crossed a line so she isn't going to push Nevermore's buttons as much as she'd like.

As he finished grinding the plants and removing some of his pent up anxiety, Cori flinched away from the female coming far too close for his liking just as he zoned back into his surroundings. He was one for making friends, but the sight of a blood-stained muzzle coming so close to him was startling to say the least. As she inquired about being taught about the herbal remedies they were using, Cori was grateful that one of the chatterboxes had an available mouth to explain what was on both of their minds. Nev was always a delight to encounter. The blind she-wolf could chatter away aimlessly about anything and everything, but could also rattle off one heck of a telling off if she needed to. Thank goodness for that! The twelve pups back at the commons would need to learn some manners from somewhere! Watching through mismatched eyes to make sure that Nevermore was ready with the cobwebs, Corvidae tapped her with his tail as he began to distribute the poultice evenly onto the she-wolf's wounds. He didn't swoop in to help her with cobwebs though - despite being blind, Nev was slightly better than him at placing the sticky webs onto scrapes. The art of having them stay stuck on the right wolf was something Cori hadn't mastered yet. Clearing the last stray bits of poultice out of his mouth, Cori was startled by his name being said from somewhere close by. In his haste to stop the injured she-wolf from doing any further damage, he had disregarded the identity of the two other she-wolves (until Mayerthu had made herself quite known). Speaking of the elder she-wolf, her voice seemed to completely shift between when she had spoken before than when she offered what could be classed as an apology to Nevermore. Even more suspicious, to be hiding an accent on the borders of a pack. Trying to push malicious thoughts out of his mind, he turned his multi-coloured gaze to the wolf who had spoken his name. Looking her up and down, familiarity was obvious. But where had he seen her before? they must have met somewh- The coastline! Spirit, the wolf who had accompanied Noone all those months ago! But she hadn't been accepted into Somnus, that much was clear. "Oh, hello again Spirit! I hope that you've fared well. While I'd love to catch up again, we were only sent out here to help Sage, and then we have to go back and possibly help our Salutary. Sorry we can't talk longer!" With a cheery smile showing off his blunted teeth, Cori gave the wounds one last look over to make sure that none of the poultice had slipped out of the cobwebs, and to ensure that the she-wolf had eaten the poppy seeds put before her by Nev. With a final nod of content, Cori gave the other two she-wolves a small dip of his head before beginning to guide his blind companion back to the common grounds. -Exit to: Somnus Common Grounds- Apprentice Nevermore Sage Spirit Mayerthu

Sage winced as the poultice touched her wounds, it didn't hurt much much but it sure did sting. When the cobwebs were applied to the wounds, the he-wolf Sage now knew was named 'Corvidae' looked to the direction of the she-wolf with the white coat and spoke "Oh, hello again Spirit! I hope that you've fared well. While I'd love to catch up again, we were only sent out here to help Sage, and then we have to go back and possibly help our Salutary. Sorry we can't talk longer!" He said with a cheery smile showing off his blunted teeth, probably from grinding all the plants. So Spirit was the name of the she-wolf, Sage thought. She got up, slowly making sure to not trip, God that would be embarrassing. "Thank you all so much! I am so grateful you guys helped me, even though you really didn't need to." She dipped her head towards the blind she-wolf and Corvidae. After the two pack members had left, Sage looked over to Spirit and the other she-wolf, she sighed and softly spoke up, "You two didn't need to help me, why did you? " Sage looked to the green forest and sighed once again, she knew that she wouldn't be accepted into the pack even if she wanted to. She decided that she isn't going back to the Rockland East, but continue wondering until she either finds a pack she might want to join or just be a rogue forever. She remembered how helpless she was when the cougar attacked her, she felt weak. Sage shook her head and decided to forget about her negative thoughts and focus on what's happening right now. Seating herself on a patch of grass the young she-wolf took a deep breath once again before laying down and relaxing.

g e n e r a l • o c e a n a reckless wolf with a selfless interior
Ocean and Red moved like a couple of choreographed veterans, but he bested her with his beast form. She was more poised in her appearance, less willing to release the composition that concealed experience, whereas Ocean did not know how. She must have been well-informed of the politics of war unlike Ocean, and far more diplomatic than he. He could not attest to this for certain, but if it were true, she would be his perfect partner in war, for he knew nothing of leadership but power. He could kill a Ferus wolf without a sweat, but he could not take over the pack. His skills were limited to battle as survival, not as art.He took one full whiff of the terrain, not at all concerned with the generous gathering of rogues in the pit of the outskirts. "Place stinks of cat. Shouldn't be hard to find," he muttered to Red in his low, resounding tone. His paws took him forward, down a small slope, where he passed the apprentices and the rogue they were treating. He payed them no heed but a nose in the wounded's direction, locking in the smell of the cougar's blood. He then bent his neck in Red's direction, speaking quietly. "This way."Stupid. Who picks a fight with a cougar? Ocean eyed the rogue in question, not hiding any disappointment or pity for her idiocy. Legs propelled, excitement dull until he found a print. "It's small for a female," he noted, setting his paw beside it to test his accuracy, the result allowing for an underwhelming chuckle. The next print was red, and crimson trailed to the next, each spill increasing in length, until he found it. Even from several yards away Ocean could count her ribs, an uncommon sight of the season. Had a new predator arisen? Perhaps a new pack? Somnus was so disconnected from the world that threats were hardly foreseen. He presumed it was time to send out a scouting group, if only Somnus was riddled with valuable workers instead of useless children. Except for his. His children were perfect. He was impressed with the lacerations. The cat wouldn't be interested in a fight, which meant killing her was going to be incredibly boring. She was undoubtedly startled by two healthy pack wolves, let alone the fact that Ocean nearly beat her in size, and certainly by weight. The cougar dashed off immediately, into the woods. Damn it.He hardly cared enough to push his body forward as fast as it needed to go, but he did. The cougar wouldn't dare return to Somnus, but he was certain that if she got a whiff of the teeming puppies, she would happily risk her life at the opposite end of the borders. She had to die.He attacked with barbaric strength and organic precision as he buried his claws into the cat's shoulders. It took an uncomfortable distance of air to get there, and the shock initiated the brewing of some much-needed adrenaline. The cat fought with her limp legs to no avail, and relied heavily on her razor teeth, but she was far too weak and tired from her previous spat to deal any damage to the beast above her. How unfortunate she was so small and helpless. He raised his right claw and pushed onto the side of her nose, keeping her face in the dirt. In the process of pinning her down, she managed to draw blood from his thick chest with her coiled hind claws, but before she could incite a flattered scoff from Ocean, his teeth were around her neck. Her skin was thick, but she lacked muscle in the area, presumably from malnourishment. She was lifeless in half a minute, leaving Ocean with a few bloody scratched underneath. Nothing he hadn't been dealt by a pack of ruthless, hungry wolf pups."Alright," he said casually, albeit heaving for air. Maybe Azaelia was right about his daddy fat. He took a deep breath before addressing Red, stepping off of the body. "Sorry, I thought that'd be more interesting."--exit to commons--

"Oh, hello again Spirit! I hope that you've fared well. While I'd love to catch up again, we were only sent out here to help Sage, and then we have to go back and possibly help our Salutary. Sorry we can't talk longer!" Spirit returned his smile, glad to see an old friend again. While she had lost her way back to her companions, she had found yet another one, now doing well as an apprentice healer in a pack. Relief washed over her. Knowing that one of her old friends was here was at least comforting. There was a hint of sadness in her smile too, as regretfully Corvidae had to head back soon and she should be on her way too. It was all too soon. How she wished she had been accepted into the pack too, just like him. "Hope to see you around sometime again!" Spirit called out, watching his receding back as he headed back into territory. "You know this wolf?" Spirit heard Mayerthu's confused voice. "Yep, an old friend," she chirped back, swishing her tail. "You two didn't need to help me, why did you?" the injured one called out feebly. "Why wouldn't we not help another wolf?" Spirit chuckled, settling down next to Sage. "You were really brave against that monster," the yearling spoke in awe, watching as another pack wolf busied himself with the lion. "I guess we should all get going." Pushing herself up, Spirit looked to Sage, smiling: "It was nice meeting you. Mayerthu and I would be travelling together, you can join us if you'd like to!" With that, she got up, following Mayerthu to wherever she was heading off to. Exit to: Neutral RendezvousMayerthu Sage Apprentice Corvidae

Spirit called out her 'goodbye's' the healer wolf Corvidae, watching him leave back to his territory along with his blind companion. "You know this wolf?" Asked the grey she-wolf in a rather confused voice. "Yep, an old friend." It's sweet to have a reunion with a friend you haven't seen in a while, Sage thought to herself, as she never had a friend for that long. "Why wouldn't we not help another wolf?" Spirit chuckled at Sage's question. Sage slowly narrowed her eyes, not believing Spirit. "You were really brave against that monster." The she-wolf let out a small smile, feeling proud of her actions. She noticed a pack wolf dealing with the cougar not so far away, she bared her teeth at the sight of the creature. She remembered how much pain it has caused her. Sage just shook her head, turning away just to hear Spirit, "I guess we should all get going." Finally Sage agreed with something. Spirit looked at the grey she-wolf and then back to Sage, warmly smiling she spoke, "It was nice meeting you. Mayerthu and I would be travelling together, you can join us if you'd like to!" Not a bad idea, Sage thought to herself, travelling with two older wolves would give me some protection from predators and maybe some not-so-friendly wolves that could come across us. "Wait up! I'll come with you!" She called to the pair, as she caught up to them. "Wonder where we are going." The she-wolf thought out-loud.

Mayerthu nodded to Spirit's response and watched a wolf easily dispatch the starved cat. She only vaguely heard the conversation that was going on between Spirit and Sage because her mind was calculating what she needed to do next. She knew they needed to leave but she wasn't sure if the other packs around were hostile to rogues. Plus Mayerthu still couldn't shake the uneasy tension in her shoulders. Mayerthu stretched and began padding in the direction of the neutral rendezvous knowing that she wasn't welcome in this area anymore. She heard Sage accept Spirit's offer and paused for a moment to allow the two young she-wolves to catch up. Sage wondered aloud where their destination was to be and Mayerthu chuckled warmly. "Right now the Rendezvous is our best bet I heard rogues are welcome there and don't have to worry about offending anybody with their differing ways of life, though I should probably learn some personal space" she added with another chuckle. "then we can find ourselves a pack when the time comes."Exit to Neutral Rendezvous Sage Spirit

General Red
There was silence between them, each moving in time with each other. They would move in between trees and bushes, separating out of sight for a brief moment before coming back together. They needed no words as the worked together, they spoke with the subtleties in their movements. This was one of the first times she moved alongside another like this. The only ones that came close was her brother, Celeste, and Athena.
The only tell that she thought of something uncomfortable was a flick of her ear. Eyes moved to watch to Ocean as he slowed. "Place stinks of cat. Shouldn't be hard to find," she nodded her head in agreement, mouth opening to take in stronger breath of the air. Blood was in the air, she thought, heart racing in reaction to the smell. A salmon tongue swiped over her nose, a small tell that she anticipated the chase.
"This way."
Red followed closely. She only looked at the strangers with an observational gaze, making sure to remember their faces if they were to ever meet again. Ever since that attack she has been increasingly more cautious of strangers, not to the point of being unfriendly, but to the point to question if something doesn't feel right or add up.
Eyes turning away, she focused on the task at hand. "It's small for a female," she looked over to see his paw next to the female's, her frown deepening. She looked up to see a trail of red, her namesake. Eyes moved to Ocean as he continued on, their bodies alert and ready to attack. But they would be the ones with the upper hand it appears, as the pathetic cat was merely yards in front of them.
The female was odd, an red flags went up inside her head. This was very wrong, and worry that had been gnawing at her since that attack grew stronger. Flicking an ear she just stood and observed. This she-cat was not going to put up much of a fight, she didn't even really need to tag along. She was glad she did if only to continue to work alongside Ocean.
As the cat darted into the bush, a last ditch effort to survive, Ocean and Red chased after it. She continued to let him take the lead, mostly cause she wished to observe him fighting. In no time the duo had caught up, Ocean doing as she predicted and lunged. The distance was impressive, and no doubt the thought of his family back at the commons pushing him forward.
The cat was quite pathetic; weak, exhausted, young, malnourished, wounded. Even a yearling could probably take on this she-cat. Well, a trained yearling. The cat still managed to get a cut in, and that's when Red moved to be closer to grab onto her if she got free. But there was no need for that worry, Ocean had her pinned down in a fierce manner. The cat was dead and their job was over it.
"Alright, - Sorry, I thought that'd be more interesting." Red couldn't help but snicker at his reply, genuinely finding his words and lack of air to be humorous.
"No, it's fine, looked like you enjoyed yourself well enough," she teased. Her eyes roamed for a second as they were making their way home, before an idea popped into her head. "Lets play a game on the way back to make up for the lack of a fight, last one back to the commons has to keep on Percy and his pranks," she joked, looking to see if he agreed. If he agreed, she would dart a head, giving it 100% her all with no intention of losing.
Percy was a menace when it came to his pranks and attitude. She had snapped at his a few times, once getting him in the tail. He always laughed and ran away. He had quieted down but she was pretty sure he was waiting for the pups to get them to play with him and his pranks. If he got a puppy team on his side, who knew what kind of mayhem Somnus would fall under.

A Z A E L I A Former Somnus Alphess In her sickness, her body was a cage. She would never leave Somnus, her mate, the deep friendships she had found here, and she certainly could not abandon the work she had taken on here––starting a family, mentoring Eureka into the alphess she was becoming, reconnecting with Percy and Merida, showing Ocean that his life was worth living, and her own, too.
Yet she resented her beating heart. Every particle of air drawing from her lungs was love leaving her body. Self-love. She resented how her children smiled at her, not because she did not adore their beautiful features and unrestrained compassion, but because she could not accept such undeserved affections. But they were the only ones who had been able to retrieve her from this darkness; Ocean, too. It was never just one wolf, but many, who had made it possible for Azaelia to come back after every episode. For all the hardships of being crazy, she felt blessed to know she was loved.
Footfalls tapped behind her. "Murdoch..." she whispered before turning to confirm his presence, though the abundance of floral aromas hardly posed a barrier to her assumption. Usually she was comforted by his presence, after all, the two did share brief affections in the past during a time Azaelia had felt more alone than she did now, but today didn't feel that way. Somehow she knew exactly why he had followed her.
"Am I crazy, Murdoch?" she muttered as terrified eyes searched for an answer in the ground, the haste in her voice parallel to her uncharacteristic agitation. Would she lash at him if she did not favor his answer? Which answer did she even favor? "I..." Her icy, lavender eyes implored fanatically to the salutary. "What is happening to me? My head... it's fucking backwards." Her features buckled under the strain of fear as she began to pivot like an unhinged door atop the rocky lookout. "This isn't me. I need you tell me that I haven't done this to myself. How did this happen?! How?!"
As panic settled in, she felt a tightness in her chest, and a relentless wave of combustions throughout her body from her tail to her tongue. It seeped rapidly from her skin in the form of sweat, and from her eyes in the form of tears, so that by the time she was crumbling at Murdoch's feet she was arid of all sensations but the utter cascade of her sanity.
"Please, Murdoch. Tell me what's wrong with my brain. There is something... wrong."
