| Azazel wasn’t at all surprised that she had dodged his first attack so easily. She was smaller than he was, and it was easy to tell when a wolf first made their move to initiate a fight, especially when one was expecting it. He had only caught a glimpse of her tail wagging before it stopped, but he only smirked. She was enjoying this, just as much as he was. It had been a long time since he’d found someone worthy of sparring with, and she was already shaping up to be just that. He was looking forward to the fight that was to come. Neon green clashed with yellow as they kept their eyes locked, and with no words, she lunged forward, heading for him. The speed she exerted was slightly unexpected, but it only made the male smirk as he looked towards her. Her aim was for his neck and chest, right where the two conjoined. The male knew that a blow from her would not be fatal, but he would rather not risk finding out. As he moved to the side, she still was able to latch on, the male giving nothing but a short grunt before yellow eyes focused in on her once more.
She tried toppling him over, but the General didn’t budge, looking towards her with flaring yellow eyes. The faint hint of blood rising from the wounds she had inflicted, sending the male into a spiral of insanity. Eyes dilated, pupils small as he stared at her, an obvious change having occurred as soon as she had pierced skin. Azazel was hardly present, sitting in the back of his mind as if it weren’t him fighting. Before she could unlatch or remove herself from their close proximity, he reared back, jaws snapping at her scruff as he managed to get ahold of it before she reacted. Yanking her, he pulled her off of her feet, slamming her down against the ground as yellow eyes trained on her face, drool pooling in his mouth as he let go of her scruff, aiming to press his foot against her muzzle as he pushed his weight onto her. His fangs went for her shoulder and not her neck, ripping into the flesh as he did so. He didn’t rip too far in, knowing that damaging the muscle would be something neither of them wanted. Instead, he simply sunk in his fangs deep enough to draw blood. Pulling away, he took a moment to simply let his tongue dart out, lapping up the blood and letting out a growl of approval as he did so.
It was sweet, and Azazel’s attention was pulled away from the she-wolf for just a moment. A moment too long as she took this as an opening to open her muzzle, biting down on his paw and pulling him downwards and onto the ground. Her strength was something he hadn’t quite expected, but it only caused a smirk to form as he felt her get on top of him, trying to wrestle him to the ground. As she did so, he felt fangs dig into the bare spot on his back, a short groan coming from the male. She had found one of his weaker points, the wound that hadn’t quite healed right on his shoulder. Trying to shake her off, she reopened the area, blood falling over his shoulders as this happened. Finally he was able to shake her from her hold, sending her to the ground, but she wasn’t quite done yet.
She lunged forward, aiming for his chest. As the pain from his wound seethed into his skin, he felt her full weight slam into him, the male growling as he staggered a bit, letting her fangs dig into the spot near his heart. He bit at the back of her neck, pulling her from his chest, but not fast enough as a chunk of skin pulled from his chest. He growled, slamming her against the ground. The male was completely lost now. All strategies out the window as he slammed her head against the ground, his paws digging into her stomach, his muzzle shaking back and forth with her scruff in his neck. As he had her pinned, his fangs moved from her scruff to her chest, tearing at the fur there, aiming to pull a chunk just like she had from him. Ripping apart the area, he left almost the same size wound, a little bit bigger than the one she had given him. “Skin for skin sweetheart,” He cooed, looking her in the eyes. Pushing himself off of her, he trotted away, looking towards Jay’s fight. “That’s enough,” He spoke before she could attack again. “I’d rather not rip each other to pieces when it’d be so much more fun doing that later,” He growled. Jay had given him the authority to judge whether or not a wolf was worthy of being in the pack, and he approved of the she-wolf, especially with the damage she had inflicted in so little time.
Really the male had felt himself lose it, and so he was calming down. He didn’t need himself massacring the commons right then and there. No, he needed to keep that beast locked up. Moving away from her in that moment, he observed the newbies, sizing up which one would be next. His wounds would be noted in his next fight, and he would be more on his guard. But the General knew what his limits were, and he was sure that most of them would be easier to fight. Especially the brutes that looked quite thick-headed. | OOC: @ketaki - I had permission to write out the entire fight between Ketaki and Azazel (: |

Thrills of excitement and nervousness ran up and down her spine as she padded along, following closely behind the band of rogues and the Alpha. As they drew nearer to hearts of Ferus territory, the area didn't seem to get any more moist. As far as her amber eyes could see, there was just sand, sand and more burning plain orangish sand. If there were any trees at all, they all seemed pretty wrecked and thirsty from the sweltering heat. At all sides, their barks peeled off from the burning flame of Ferus' passion and power - which Mira really hoped she could someday be a part of. As compared to the yearling, and the other fighter, that seemed much more like a dream she would fantasise about than her future. Her sheer size, strength and softness said it all.
When the others in front halted in their tracks, Mira obediently did so too, stretching her neck out eagerly to catch a glimpse of what was happening in front. What was it? A test of hunting skills?“Here is where you’ll show me your battle skills.” Battle skills. These two words alone were enough to leave her throat dry, maybe even drier than the desert they were all standing in. This was a test Mira had tried her best not to imagine would emerge as the deciding factor, and yet it really did. Her chances of acing this challenge were slimmed to none, against the two large brutes, and the others. Swallowing, she watched as the Alpha continued: “Azazel, This is the General of Ferus, and quite possibly one of the most experienced fighters here besides myself.” The general was a charcoal brute that towered above most of them. So, they would be fighting him. Now, that was something Mira should really, really worry about. After the Alpha assigned the yearling and another wolf to fight him and the general respectively, he barely looked at the rest of them: "You will stay put unless I tell you to move. If anyone so much as moves an inch, consider yourself a rogue once more."
With that stern warning, the fight began. Mira used to enjoy play-fighting with her siblings, but this was an entirely different thing. Digging her claws into the sand, Mira watched wide-eyed with fear as the four sparred, tail slightly tugged between her legs. When it came to fighting, Mira was rendered by her strength, although her petite size did give her agility - which she decided was her best chance. There was an advantage of not being the first few to fight - her opponent might be tired out. From a distance, she could also watch how those her size fought against them, and perhaps pick a thing or two up. "Show me your worth keeping.” While he was addressing the younger one, Mira hoped she could too, and she decided she was going to give her best no matter what. For the first time, she felt such immense courage rushing through her. The ebony female gritted her teeth, more determined than ever as she waited by the side.

Spiras confidently strode after the Alpha, his eyes roaming over his surroundings as the land transformed before his eyes. The lush eden of green grass and tall trees changed to a barren desert, the life draining from the earth as they headed deeper into the heart of the territory. He grinned, his violet eyes lit up with excitement. He took note of the few scraggly trees and brush, taking it as symbolism for the harsh life he was about to enter, where only the strong would survive. He glanced over at the Alpha, his thoughts wandering as he imagined the thrilling life that might be his if he could prove himself to this cruel, ideal leader. With each step on the dry ground, he was crossing the threshold into pack life, inch by inch. A great wall stood before him; the test that he would have to pass to attain the harsh pack life that he so longed for. His blood pumped in his veins, his intentions to break through the barrier and fully cross over the threshold as strong as ever. With his eyes already focused on the timber wolf, he noticed the small flick of his ear and tail and recognized it as a signal to stop. He halted in his tracks, his eyes intent as he waited for the first test to be revealed. “Here is where you’ll show me your battles skill.” Was that all? Either the Alpha underestimated him, or it was Spiras who was wrongly judging. He felt sure that it was both, and his tail tip twitched as his excitement grew for the battle to come. “Azazel,” the Alpha called. Spiras watched as a hulking brute lumbered up to the group of rogues, confidently locking eyes with the Alpha before appraising those before him. Spiras watched him carefully, noticing that his eyes focused on the wolf with haunting green eyes. Spiras would prefer to fight both leaders at the same time; he wanted to get a sense of each of their battle styles. He was sure that he would be able to hold his own against at least one, and he would value a test of his strength. He hadn’t fought in a month or two, but in no way was he rusty. He was itching to skirmish, to draw blood and tear a throat out. It would be a nice way to get out all his pent up anger. “This is the General of Ferus, and quite possibly one of the most experienced fighters here besides myself,” the Alpha continued. A bold statement; one that Spiras would gladly test. “Your battle skills will be assessed by myself and Azazel, and from there your fate in Ferus lands will be decided.” Spiras was growing impatient, but he had the wits to remain silent. Still, his flicking tail was a clear show of how he felt, and it would be no surprise if the Alpha saw him as a child for exhibiting such behavior. He watched as the Alpha assigned the first two who were to be tested, and just managed to hide his disappointment that he would have to wait to release all his pent up energy. On a second thought, he realized that his turn would most likely be at the end, as his size in itself could be a threat to Jay; it wouldn’t be fair if he was wounded before the other wolves got to fight. The Alpha turned a steel gaze on the rogues. “You will stay put unless I tell you to move. If anyone so much as moves an inch, consider yourself a rogue once more. Show you’re worth keeping,” he said with a growl. Spiras showed no reaction, as he had used such intimidation himself before. He only felt impressed and pleased further with the leader of the pack. Ferus was certainly living up to its stories. Spiras calmly watched the two pairs fight, carefully taking note of their battle styles. The Alpha was quick, both physically and mentally. He would certainly be fun to fight. The same couldn’t be said for the General. The black wolf seemed to rely mostly on brute strength; so much so that his sparring partner was able to tear out some flesh. Spiras noticed a glint in the General’s golden eyes and realized that he was hiding a crazy beast inside him. While Spiras himself wasn’t completely normal, and even relished in the savory fragrance of blood, he disliked insane monsters who fought blindly. Alpha Jay, with his intimidation and skills having been on full display since he met the rogues at the borders, was certainly Spiras’s first choice. The teenager with moonstone eyes was nimble and quick, while the General’s partner was able to rely on both strength and speed. Spiras watched with a smirk as she reopened a wound, glad to see that the rogue candidates were so promising. It only strengthened his desire to join this pack. While Mortasia was also an option, he had heard tales of their insanity-- something he wanted to avoid. His tail continued wagging like a pup’s, as he was getting riled up simply watching the fights take place before him. His eyes drifted long enough to register two rogues cowering at the back; one flitting nervous eyes over the land, the other showing whites and keeping her tail tucked. He could only hope that they wouldn’t pass the Alpha’s tests. However, despite how highly Spiras thought of Jay, he had noticed that he had a habit of showing sympathy and pity to weaker wolves. He wouldn’t want those two tainting the reputation of the pack he had grown so fond of.

Jay’s attack was successful, he latched onto her tail with ease, a yelp escaping her maw as he had caught onto the delicate ligament. He looked towards her, jade eyes flashing as he watched her, seeing what her reaction would be. He didn’t want to hurt her, especially since she was so new to the pack. He didn’t need her already injured and useless before she had even begun to show if she would useful. He already knew his only son had an eye on her, and he would want to keep her to see where their paths went. But he had to make sure that she was a good match for his son. She aimed for his face with a back leg kick. It instead hit his chest, and the force was enough to cause the male to let go. He looked towards her, eyes locked on her, not caring what was happening with Azazel’s fight, or what the other rogues were doing. His focus was solely on her, and that she would know. She moved to latch onto his scruff next, anything to get him at a disadvantage. He moved out of her way, her teeth latching onto his shoulder instead. She was quick, that much was for sure. He grunted, moving to lock his teeth onto her scruff. He was twisted at an awkward angle, but he was able to grab onto her scruff with difficulty, but it was enough to pull her back and away from his shoulder. He was able to move, blood dripping from the wound she had left on his shoulder. He readjusted his grip, and with that, she had slipped away from him. He let out a growl of frustration and bolted straight for her, aiming for her scruff more. He was able to latch onto it, and took her to the ground, pushing his paw against her muzzle to make sure she couldn’t retaliate with her teeth. She was young, and wouldn’t be as experienced as he was. So right there was where Jay had won. He brought himself off of her, looking down at her. “You need more training. But you used your agility to your advantage,” He spoke, one good ear flicking as he looked at her. “You’ll be a hunter alongside Natsu, the male you met at the borders,” He said, knowing that his son would be back soon. “Now it’s time for the next round of fights,” He spoke, looking towards the others. His gaze fell onto the smaller she-wolf, seeing as she had quite the bark to her, he wanted to see if there was also some bite. “You, you’ll be the next to fight me,” He spoke, beckoning for her to come forward. “Azazel you’re free to pick your next sparring partner,” He said, before readying himself for the small she-wolf to start the fight.

The journey to the commons grounds was silent, almost peaceful. The wolves that he currently had in tow hadn’t said much once they had left the borders. They were probably anticipating what Natsu’s father would say to them once they arrived in the commons. He could see that these wolves were young, as young as he and Iylah are. His father could mold them into warriors easily, especially compared to the brutish males that were at the borders, thinking they were far better than Ferus. The black male trotted forward, the view of the commons appearing rather quickly. He had taken one of the better shortcuts through the territory, and due to that, he had been able to see the ending of his father’s fight with the she-wolf that had caught his attention. She was no match for his father, that much he had been sure of. But his ears perked as she was ranked a hunter right there, to work alongside him. If he didn’t have self control, he would have wagged his tail at the idea. Instead, he looked towards Harley, the small she-wolf that his father was choosing to fight next. Natsu’s eyes then landed on Azazel and Ketaki, seeing as they were both injured incredibly. Natsu had never seen Azazel in action, but his father spoke of him as one of the greatest warriors in the pack, a calculated killing machine. It was why he was the General of the pack. He knew that Azazel could beat his father no problem, especially with the lurking demon underneath that no one was aware of. They had only seen glimpses of it here and there when they had been hunting, and Azazel would drag out the hunt a bit too long to torture the deer that they were hunting. However, there was something different about the way the male was currently standing. Something different in his eyes. Before Harley could instigate a fight with Harley, Natsu cleared his throat, looking to his father as he then looked behind him towards the others that had come from the borders. “Father,” He spoke, his tone serious as he took up conversation. He had been taught that if he didn’t act seriously with his words, then his actions would mean nothing. “These wolves came to our borders requesting the presence of Flint. They claim that he is their father. However, I know nothing of Flint, or where he is. It is your judgement they seek to stay here and wait for their father's return, or to be sent towards the direction that he had headed off,” He spoke. Then turned towards the wolves behind him, looking for them to introduce themselves to his father, and hopefully make a good impression. Alpha Jay Scout Iylah @priya Nivaan Lali Pup Jirou @nikolai

The borders had been beautiful, and Lali had enjoyed walking through the tall green grass and around the funky trees that were scattered here and there. She had kept to Nikolai’s side, humming as they walked. The rest of the territory had gone from a green color, to that of a darker red, and light orange. It wasn’t something that she was used to, but she was sure that there was more to the land than meets the eye. She could only imagine all the prairie dogs that had built their burrows, all the rabbits that were running around. Her mind wandered to snakes and lizards, having heard that they accompanied this sort of terrain as well. She wondered what they looked like. Snakes were described to her as lizards without legs. Maybe they just looked like branches that moved. She would find out, she was sure of it. Her curious mind could not be contained, especially with all the dreams that she had built surrounding the territory she was currently in. When they approached what she assumed to be the commons, she saw that there were many wolves there, red staining the ground as two of them were injured already, and one of them was getting ready for a fight. The one eared male that she lay eyes on was standing defensively, staring at another. With his stance, she knew that he had to be a wolf of power. And the black male behind him had wounds, yellow eyes concentrated on a white she-wolf with a large red streak on her back, their wounds being the ones that had probably spilled the blood. She kept her eyes averted, knowing that staring too long was rude. Priya had taught her that. Natsu approached the male standing in a defensive position, noting him as ‘Father’. As he spoke, Lali came to sit down, making sure she was as close to her siblings as she could get as she waited for this male to tell them if their father was here, or where he was. She wanted to meet him after all! Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah Alpha Jay Nivaan @nikolai Pup Jirou @priya

The green grass that lay at the borders had faded away shortly after their departure, the sparse weird looking trees no longer stood in their paths, instead it was replaced by sparse and dead looking trees. His eyes flickered over his siblings, making sure that they were all there. Although Nivaan wasn’t one to vocally display his concern, the shifting in his position within the group would show them enough that he was making sure they were all alright. The ground underneath him that was once packed with green strands of grass now had no grass to protect his paw pads from the grainy red substance that one could deem as sand. The territory was harsher than his mother had ever told them, but they were going off of her memory of the land from seeing it at the borders between Lubrusca and Ferus. He gave himself time to scan the area, taking in everything that was around them. This land was not fit for many wolves, only a few that were strong. Worry coursed through his veins. He wouldn’t want to lose his siblings in these lands. But if their father hailed from here, surely they had the ability to survive here as well? They approached the common grounds, where even more wolves lay. His eyes scanned every one of them, seeing as they stood in front of two pack wolves. One white she-wolf with a red streak down her back and piercing neon eyes was bloodied and injured. The black male that mirrored her being the same as well. It seemed that fighting had occurred. Although Nivaan had known that fighting would be apart of this pack’s culture, he was still held fast to his pacifist ways. Not wanting to see others get hurt. He moved his head a little, trying not to focus too much on the blood, but instead on the male that Natsu had approached. This was quite possibly the Alpha, especially with the way he held himself. The one eared male did not resemble Natsu in anyway, the black male they met at the borders could pass off as the large injured brute’s child instead. He wondered if he simply took after his mother instead. He listened in on the conversation, bringing himself to Priya’s side as he stood, waiting patiently for the older male wolf to speak. Why was their father not here? Had they traveled all this way to be sent on another wild goose chase to find their father they so desperately wanted to meet? @priya Pup Jirou Lali @nikolai Scout Iylah Hunter Natsu Alpha Jay

As the pups entered the all to unfamiliar territory of Ferus, Nikolai couldn't help but be a little hopeful that maybe this could be home. The abandonment he felt from his mother left a sour taste in his mouth and often made him weary of places that could seem like "home", though he still followed along with his siblings. Nikolai knew, that even if they couldn't settle in a pack, that home would always be where Priya, Nivaan, Lali and Jirou were. They had become such a tight knit band of kids ever since Kai's stinging abandonment, and he often took charge where Priya had let him or when she was away for a bit. Lali kept close to him, the warmth of her pelt brushing against his pulling him to be stable, his maw set firm, the corner of his mouth pulled back slightly as he followed Natsu through the pack's commons. There were sparring wolves, and the hustle and bustle of pack life made his stomach tighten in what he could only guess was discomfort. He was out of his comfort zone, and he pressed his pelt further into Lali's, hoping it wouldn't seem like an act of seeking comfort. But he took comfort in her humming, letting it fill his head and relax his muscles. Nikolai's thoughts soon started buzzing again as he thought whether pack life was something he wanted. Even at such a young age, he had learned even those closest to you could leave you in the blink of an eye, turn their back and never look behind them again, and unease filled him once more, would this pack be any different? Unlikely. If his mother hated them so much, so could any stranger, pack or not. The only semblance of balance and familial essence in his life was his siblings and he doubted that would change. The pup stayed quiet as Natsu acknowledged his father and asked for his input on their situation. Yet another time when his fate was put into the paws of another without his say so. The alpha could just as easily turn them out, and even if he didn't, who was to say Flint wouldn't spurn his supposed children? There were too many if's and Nikolai would have just preferred to leave it behind them. But, Priya prided herself on being the leader, so he knew if this ended badly on their part, he would be the first to say "told you so." @priya Nivaan Pup Jirou Lali Alpha Jay Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah

Shale found himself almost dizzied from trying to watch both fights at once. Jay and Azazel were each skilled fighters, that much was obvious; the only rogues who would even stand a chance of coming to a draw with them were Spiras and Diablo. And it was highly unlikely that anyone would actually win. This wasn’t a spar, it was an assessment. Whether you won or lost didn’t matter, as long as you exhibited the proper battle skills. Which are, unfortunately, all the skills I don’t have. He was trying to pay close attention to what was going on. The only battle education he would get would be what little tips and tricks he could pick up from watching the fights that took place before his own, and he didn’t want to miss something that could potentially seal his fate within Ferus. Yrene, he noticed, was fast on her feet, using her agility to counter the size difference between her and Jay. I can do that. His smaller size would allow him to move quickly. It wouldn’t make up for his complete lack of experience, but if he could get through the day without making a fool of himself he would call it success. Ketaki, the female with the pupilless eyes, seemed, strangely, to enjoy her own battle, acting as if it was nothing more than a game instead of a test that would decide her future. He couldn’t make out her words to the general, but she appeared to be teasing him a little, even daring to draw blood. She was quickly repaid in kind, but Azazel seemed impressed rather than angry. Still, it was a risk that Shale himself would have trembled to take, and he admired her for it. The two females gave a good accounting of themselves, and it came as no surprise that both were readily accepted. It was clear that Azazel approved of Ketaki, and Jay announced his acceptance of Yrene, granting her the rank of hunter alongside the young male who had come with Jay to the borders. Shale hadn’t thought much about the hierarchy of Ferus, or the place he might find within it. Seeing how inexperienced he was compared to almost everyone else at the borders, and simply given his personality, he’d never expected anything more than an omega position, and if by some miracle he managed to win a place in the pack that was probably where he would start. It wasn’t as if he minded that; he knew the role suited him. But for the first time he found himself wondering if perhaps that was not the only role he would ever fill. Right now he wasn’t much good for anything else, at least in his mind, but Ferus seemed to have a way of taking people and transforming them into something they had never seen in themselves before. He found himself questioning what this land might make of him, whether he could actually be more, someday, than what he was. Jay’s next words broke him from his reflection. It was Harley, the gleeful little female who had surprisingly stood up to Spiras and Diablo, whom Jay had chosen for his second partner. That match would certainly be...entertaining. But now it was the general’s turn to choose. Shale tensed a little, watching Azazel with wide, anxious eyes. He admired Jay from the little he had seen of his leadership practices, but there was something in the general that seemed...unhinged. Oh, please don’t pick me. The two fights seemed to be polar opposites. Ketaki and Azazel were vicious, actually tearing out chunks of flesh from one another before conceding in a tie. Yrene and Jay, on the other hand, were more calculated. They nipped and darted around one another, going to odd places like the tail before twisting into a pretzel. Jay was definitely more agile than his general, but both of their sizes still towered over her tiny stature. She'd have to dart around jaws and claws, aiming for more fragile and accessible legs, or flanks and tail, like Jay had done to Yrene. As both fights ended, Jay called her up as the next one to fight him. Rolling her shoulders, the tiny spitfire strolled up to the mark. She was ready to fight, with a plan in mind of where to begin. Jay wasn't as tall as his General, so she couldn't exactly dart beneath him to get at his legs, but she sure as hell could try to maneuver around him. Just as she was heading to begin the fight, a young male stepped in. It was the same one as at the borders, obviously the Alpha's son, daughters, and new rogues. They didn't smell like Ferus at all, and as the young male spoke, it was clear that they were as new to Ferus territory as the rest of the rogues. As he requested his father's attention, Harley paused for a moment. Did she really want to interrupt official business of Ferus? Yes, yes she did. With Jay's attention towards his son, Harley began to inch her way around him so that hopefully he wouldn't notice her. She doubted that he was dumb enough to let her go unnoticed, but her change in position would at least give her the opportunity to attack an area of the male with less possibility of a puncture from fangs or claws. Her attack motion was to leap at the side of his flank, like the flank of a deer, aiming to latch on with her jaws and use her forelimbs to push herself off after her jaws connected, if they did at all. If she were successful, she would try to shake her jaws with a mouthful of the side of Jay's left flank. If her attack missed, the tiny she-wolf would whip her frame around to face the male again, hopefully before he could attack her. She'd remain defensive if she missed, baby blue eyes looking for Jay's next move. Alpha Jay @everyonestillinthecommons

So Ferus was the land of fierce warriors her mother had painted it out to be — how very interesting — of all the parts she had expected to be false, it would’ve been that. Oh Mother, Mother the Mighty, Mother the Fierce, Mother the Deranged had spun her more than her fair share of fables and fairy tales. Even now, she couldn’t be completely certain that so much as half of what she had told them was true. This land of Ferus, of ferocious beasts and blood, had first appeared to be all too convenient an excuse, one that she personally always harbored suspicion toward, but now it appeared to hold tangible weight. Grating, frothing growls filled the air as subordinates struggled to prove themselves to their superiors; on some ends, an endless struggle of strain and strife, on yet others, a display of dexterity and strength. Unconsciously, she adjusted her stance, gently straightening out her gait. They would be tested as well. She could sense the question in everything — in the way the partnered wolves pummeled each other, the way the two yearlings tentatively gazed over their shoulders, the Alpha’s firm, analytical gaze — what, aside from a theoretical birth right, gave her and her siblings any right to stay here? “Father,” The black yearling began, his tone holding a somberness that carried him beyond his years. “These wolves came to our borders requesting the presence of Flint. They claim that he is their father. However, I know nothing of Flint, or where he is.” Her stomach dropped. Had they traveled all this way, and struggled for nothing? “ It is your judgement they seek to stay here and wait for their father's return, or to be sent towards the direction that he had headed off.” The yearling twisted over to look to them, his gaze beckoning, expectant. Priya looked towards her siblings, hoping they’d introduce themselves— and was greeted with the greatest silence she’d seen from them since they’d realized they were alone. Of all times for them to decide to be silent! In front of a wolf that held their lives in his paws no less — god, she’d give them hell once this was over. Still, a part of her felt just as they did. They were terrified, and rightfully so. Had she not remained awake at their sides these past few nights, hashing the what-ifs? They’d painted the possibilities with the greatest hopes and deepest worries, and now they were here, ready to watch them come to fruition. It was by no means an easy journey — she knew that. “I am Priya,” She began, stepping forwards to meet the Alpha’s gleaming green gaze. “My sister is Lali. My brothers are Jirou, Nivaan, and Nikolai,” She addressed, stepping forwards to point each one out. “We have always known little of our mother. Littler of our father —all we had to guide us were stories. She rarely spoke of him with love. Whenever she did, she claimed he bore a brilliant, analytical mind, and served in war to the best of his ability. You all say he isn’t here, and I know it may not help much, but my mother always claimed I looked most like him. That I carried his eyes,” She clarified, swallowing. God, was she a fool. Of course the Ferus Alpha of all wolves would know what their father looked like. “We have nothing else to live for,” She added softly. “Our mother is gone. We’ve been trying our best, but—” Her voice haltered, failing her momentarily. “We all want to better ourselves here. We need to. We can serve Ferus to the best of our abilities — we don’t have much, but we can grow and be better. Please give us this chance. My siblings and I — we’ll prove our worth.”Pup Jirou Nivaan Lali @nikolai Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah Alpha Jay

“I am Priya,” His sister began as they all stood around her, listening. He wasn't sure if the others would offer unconditional support, but he did for the one that spear headed this group. “My sister is Lali. My brothers are Jirou, Nivaan, and Nikolai,” He gave a nod of his head, looking to analyze the alpha “We have always known little of our mother. That I carried his eyes, we have nothing else to live for, - Our mother is gone. We’ve been trying our best, but—” He turned and eyed her, brow furrowing as her voice faltered. He didn't like how vulnerable she was making them seem, but maybe that will play into their favor. He just had to trust her. “We all want to better ourselves here. We need to. We can serve Ferus to the best of our abilities — we don’t have much, but we can grow and be better. Please give us this chance. My siblings and I — we’ll prove our worth.” Jirou figured that this was as much was needed to be said, so being by his sister, he eye the Alpha's legs, but he tried to keep his posture straight, head held at a respectful level without looking meek or weak. One thing he didn't need to seem was weak here. The sound of.. fighting was heard around them. He eyed the pairings out of the corner of his eye. He wasn't sure why these wolves were fighting? He didn't want to seem stupid by asking, so maybe this is what pack wolves do? Fight each other? @priya Nivaan @nikolai Lali Alpha Jay

It seemed that she had missed out on all the fun.
The rogues her father brought back had already seen their fair share of sparring, battle, and brutality. How pleasing — perhaps that pair of cocky males had received a well-earned humbling. She was just disappointed she’d missed it. After all, had she, since the day of her birth, ever been one to pass up on a solid match? And yet it came and went, and she’d not even a single chance to place her bet and cheat Iylah out of her dinner once more. This wouldn’t bode. Although it seemed that Natsu and Iylah had found themselves in a similar boat, now that she’d a good look at them. Natsu had a way of concealing emotions, but there was the subtlest, faintest air of uncertainty in his stance, his gaze. (Iylah’s, now, was far more obvious.)
It didn’t take long to pinpoint the source of their confusion. A conglomeration of yearlings had seemed to find Ferus, all siblings according to the word of an onyx female. They claimed to be the children of the wolf Flint. Preposterous. Her and her siblings had heard of Flint, true, but they had never seen the male in the flesh. He’d gone on a mission, allegedly, to a treacherous unknown land in the days before their birth and hadn’t been seen on Ferus soil since then. For all they knew, Flint was dead. And who was to say that even if he were alive, he was their father at all?
Still, it was hard not to feel a sliver of something for them. Fortunately, she was well-versed in the art of not feeling. Whether they stayed or went or her father was foolish enough to believe this idiotic tale was none of her concern. He’d settle their fates soon enough.
Still, she had to admit, it would be nice to have wolves around her age.

The trip back to the common grounds was quiet. Not the awkward kind of silence, but a peaceful one, were those around her were fascinated for whatever was about to happen. They could be about to meet their father for the first time, how crazy is that? Iylah pondered while she walked alongside the group, guided by her brother. The thought of her dad not being there while she and the others grew up was something unconceibable, even slighty scary. Jay's sole presence gave off inspiration, someone to aspire to be like, someone to surpass even. The intensity of her thoughts got the better of her, making the Ferusian Scout miss the end of the Alpha and the newcomer. Iylah stood by Natsu while he decided to speak up and present the group to the pack . “These wolves came to our borders requesting the presence of Flint. They claim that he is their father. However, I know nothing of Flint, or where he is. It is your judgement they seek to stay here and wait for their father's return, or to be sent towards the direction that he had headed off,”
said the young hunter, respectfully and patiently, looking towards the big group of yearlings who were looking for this Flint guy. The brown she-wolf smiled at them, tilting her head towards her father, a silent way to tell them to go ahead. She just hoped none of them pulled any kind of disrespectful attitudes. Priya decided to speak first, walking a few steps ahead of her siblings. She introduced herself and her family to Jay and to everyone present, right before explaining their whole situation with flint. “We all want to better ourselves here. We need to. We can serve Ferus to the best of our abilities — we don’t have much, but we can grow and be better. Please give us this chance. My siblings and I — we’ll prove our worth,” the young she-wolf finished, awaiting a response from the Alpha of their parent's pack.

It had been long, far too painstakingly long since he’d seen the lands of Ferus. To say the land was welcoming would be too much of a stretch — if there was anything Ferus had never once been, it would be tender — but to him it had never been a lovelier sight. Spring had given their desert a delicate gentility; something youthful and sweet it had never held previously. As he passed the borders, he allowed himself to amble, take the time to savor the sand’s gentle softness or the budding cactus blooms. It’d been so long since he’d seen life. Not that Ferus itself was particularly abounding, by any means, but it was certainly an upgrade from Mortiul lands. Ferus smelt of sand and dust, a pleasant exchange from the ever-looming reek of rot that clung to the two territories. As he walked, he noted the collection of new scents clinging to the trees and earth. Some smelt almost of Alpha Jay, others of Semira. Had they had their children already? He shuddered, horrified at how much he had missed. He’d been gone a practical lifetime after all. How drastically had the land he’d once loved come to change since? Semira and Jay had to have born at least one litter at this point. They’d talked the matter over one too many times, been together far too long to have not. What would they be like? Wolves had surely came and went in the months; new faces and lives settling in seamlessly without once hearing his name. Old friends had grown into themselves; maturing, advancing, thriving. His stomach dropped as he considered the possibility that some might have died — no, no, he couldn’t think that way now. He was too close to home to finally give way to despair now. To say he’d run for his life had been an understatement. He’d done everything short of soaring over Mortiul’s cliffs, determined to put as much space between him and his assailants as possible. All his pawpads had blistered horribly, but he’d born on with it. Pain crept up each long, slender limb till it felt as though it would shatter the bone into bits, and still he pursued. It wasn’t until he felt as though his weight itself would melt off of him, evaporating like mist and leaving him little more than a skeleton that he decided he’d run long enough to merit slowing down. It had been even longer than that when he realized nobody had bothered chasing him. His mind thundered as he contemplated what he would even begin to tell his superiors. When he assumed this task, nobody could have possibly predicted that it would’ve taken this long. The wolf he’d sought after originally, Sakia, had died long before he’d arrived. It had been high-near pointless, come to think of it, but it was still worth knowing. Still, how could he even begin to phrase this warning? “Watch out Jay,” He muttered to himself. “Demons are lurking.” A statement that seemed to be all too true, unfortunately — even so, there was still no good way to phrase it. To claim there was a band of wolves that large, that bloodthirsty, and organized to the extent that it put all Ferus ranks to shame seemed to be preposterous at first, workings of an exhausted traveler that’d spent too much time from home. And yet it was the truth, in its best form. All he could do was hope that Ferus could be capable of setting its pride aside. For all their warriors, sparring, discipline, and training, he knew in his deepest heart of hearts that they would not survive Mortiul and Ignasia’s wrath. There was the clearing. He stepped through wordlessly, quietly watching the wolves that’d gathered around them. All odd, unfamiliar faces, for the most part — but most hadn’t been around long enough to be marked by their scent. New recruits? Jay was there, every bit as grizzled and battlescarred as he recalled him being, talking to— Had they replaced him? He blinked, stunned at the likeness of the wolf before him; a small, dark-dappled she-wolf. How uncanny! He shook his head, focusing on the task at hand. “Hello again, Jay.” He started, his voice somber. “I’ve returned from my journey to the mountains. And I have so much to tell you.” Tagged: Alpha Jay Pup Jirou Nivaan @nikolai Lali
