Heyo friends! Recently I have been working on a story I created called Cherry Blossom Falls. Please don't steal my ideas. This is just the prologue but I hopefully will upload some character descriptions soon and maybe the first part of the story. Thank you for reading 
Prologue
Year 3017. The world has become completely polluted and it has become much harder to survive. Because of this lung problems, specifically lung cancer, have gotten much more common for anybody who breathes the gas. Scientist searched in vain for a cure as more and more people got lung cancer. After many months, they finally created a "cure" for all cancer. Those who had cancer were injected with the "cure" and their cancer disappeared in a matter of days. Those who didn't took a vaccination to prevent them from ever getting it. Unfortunately, this "cure" had some side effects. The "cure" had a parasite living inside of it that carried a disease very similar to rabies, but, unlike rabies this new disease did not have the last few stages of paralyzation and death. Instead this disease made it's host, the humans, a living zombie. It kept the host alive, making the heart beat and the lungs work. The only way to escape this is bye having the flesh and organs rot away. The disease can not live without a host and will die almost instantly. The disease spread over night and by morning there were few survivors. Those who weren't infected fled to the nearest island, leaving those they loved who they couldn't save to perish in the fire. Since the salt kept the disease at bay, this kept most islands safe for the time being. But the disease is evolving and there is worry that the whole world will soon be consumed by the disease.
