Kazuko ; Rogue Wolf
"At some point, you'll have to turn around and face the person who wants you dead. The hard part is finding the courage to do it."
The pure agony, and grief that filtered through the ivory eyes of a female seemed like it could never fade. No matter how many steps the white bitch tread, how many territories she passed, the crimson stained memories would never leave her emotionally scarred mind. Exhaling a short, wavering breath, Kazuko snarled to herself, squeezing her eyes shut, and hanging her head. Her mind blared with color, her own growls filtering through her eyes with a pastel purple hue. The constant explosion of colors would never leave her, haunting her, confining her within their merciless claws. Synesthesia kept her victim to the constant visual massacre, every snap of a twig, every rustle of a leaf; a new color to streak across her vision. Of course, it did come in handy time-to-time. For instance, she had never forgotten a name. Each and every one of the wolves she had come across got their own unique pattern of colors, or simply a solid color within her head. Her condition was similar to that of a photographic memory, but instead of certain scenes, she would always remember certain colors bound to certain sounds, or names. No one would understand it, if they were not inflicted with the mental disorder themselves. To anyone else, this would seem a weakness, and burden. To them, it could block her vision in the worst times. She could miss an attack, or mess up a hunt. She could fail to react in time during life-threatening moments. No. She could see through them. They were there, but not there. Sometimes, Kazuko hardly noticed them, as they simply became part of her everyday life.
Picking her cranium up, the frost bitch sighed, regaining her regal composure. Behind her, a snowy flag raised in line with her back, curling sideways ever-so-slightly. Masking over her pain with a calm facade, she continued her trek forwards, skinny legs pushing forwards, plentiful muscles rippling under her coat. She was a trained killer, an assassin. Her ears remained pointed upon her head, constantly turning every direction, prepared for any attack. Her heart sunk further with each passing second, realizing her habits. But, she would not stop them. She knew at this very moment, that she was being hunted. But, she had come to far, and covered her tracks to cleverly. Her old pack would never see her, or know of her new way of life. She no longer ripped through the flesh of wolves for sport, or held that sadistic smile. Now, she was normal, well, as normal as she could be. Wolves would no longer wail at the sight of her, pups would no longer cower in her presence. She refused to be the watchful eye studying your every move, the one to cause unbearable pain. She desired a normal pack, not one filled with blood lust, and murder. One with real wolves, who had emotions, and cared for others.
Waving her tail slowly, the lean lupine allowed her white eyes to constantly flicker around, only to widen as blood red filtered through her icy depths. "Stay here." The deep voice sent shudders down her spine, her muscles tensing into attack mode. Her ears shot forwards, the stain in her vision slowly fading. Snapping her cranium towards the source of the noise, Kazuko frowned, eyeing the distant form of a dark grey male. His voice was odd, accented, similar to her own, but she was far more subtle. Does this male own this territory?Had she idiotically stumbled into claimed land? She shook her head, no. There were no marks that she had found. Around her, she could easily scent other wolves, her vision exploding into a field of intermixed colors. But, she send nothing, her heart pounding with unease. The large female appeared calm, her muscles rippling under her pelt as she moved, obvious strength echoing within her. Her ears twitched as she took in every sound, awaiting a signal from any wolf. The dark form she had seen had sized a bit larger then herself, and definitely weighed more. He seemed to have stalked off to investigate another wolf, and Kazuko followed, distancing herself. As the wolf approached a pretty female, she sat, concealed slightly by the forest. Her scent mingled alongside her, if the male bothered to pay attention, she would be easily visible, her white fur bright in the luscious territory. Lowering into a relaxed position, she watched the male with curiosity, her head tilted to the side in brief thought. Was this male recruiting for a pack?
She remained still, eyeing the duo distantly. Taking training from her past, Kazuko would observe this male and his actions. Assess his tone, and posture. Every move he made would filter through her mind. Aggressive, or non-aggressive? Dominant, or submissive? If she were to be called out, Kazuko would immediately comply, but with some form of stubbornness. Her eyes would clash with his, not in challenge, no no, but to simply express her naturally dominant attitude. The kind female preferred to express herself through calm words, but, if this male turned out to be aggressive, the white bitch would not hesitate to protect herself. Through a sharp tongue, or by physically challenging the foreign wolf.

Ketsueki had not been phased at all when Atticus growled at her. She knew that a wolf like him wouldn't let his pride be taken by a she-wolf like her. But she simply didn't care. He could deal with the after affects of getting injured around a healer. He knew the moment that he had been injured she would have jumped to healing him. Which is why he stated that she shouldn't touch him. She had done nothing to provoke the wild boar, it might have been headed for her, but why didn't Atticus simply let it ram into Ketsueki? She was more than capable of taking care of herself, and she could surely have scared the female boar off. Instead however, Atticus had taken the hit, or multiple hits for that matter, just to protect Ketsueki. Was it because of her versatility in herb knowledge, or simply because she could be a decoy for him to slip away one day unnoticed if wolves were to invade their cave. During this time that she was thinking, she had barely heard the snapping of jaws just inches away from her neck. She knew that it would sting, but he didn't need to be such an asshole about it.
Giving a small huff, the she-wolf had pulled away afterwards, watching him eat the herbs that she had placed in front of him while she ate her kill. She would take a large portion of the stomach and intestines, eating most of those. Blood coated around her lips now, the messy pieces having been a welcoming sensation of flavor upon her tongue. Giving a lip of her lips, she would try and lick as much blood as she could away, not paying an attention to Atticus until she noticed his head hanging in what seemed to be an uncomfortable state. Giving a small roll of her eyes, she wondered why he had stayed in such a way. Walking towards him, she would shift her shoulder underneath his to prop him upwards. Ketsueki was much stronger than other wolves thought she was, so she lowered the male as much as she could until he was lying with his injured flank facing the sky. This way, he would not be able to tear off the cobwebs if he weren't to move. Taking a moment to look down at Atticus' sleeping figure, she sat by his head, golden eyes staring down at the male with a sort of admiration.
Her thoughts traveled back once again to think about why he had jumped in front of her when he had. Had he been trying to protect her for any other reason than because she was his hunting partner? Surely he wouldn't have put himself in danger of getting his lungs punctured if she was nothing to him. Did that mean he cared for her? Shaking her head slightly, she couldn't help but let her thoughts run wildly about the idea of him caring for her. It felt like her stomach was climbing a mountain, and her heart was beating as if she were desperately running for her life. A tingling sensation ran down her spine, and her liquid gold eyes flashed upwards, looking toward a black brute that was currently invading her territory. Our territory, she reminded herself, as Atticus was also the owner of the cave. Giving a small growl, she made sure that she would stand in front of her friend as she looked towards the black male.
"You know, there's a border marking for a reason," She stated, looking over towards the black male before looking behind him. There were surely more wolves than just him, she could catch a faint scent of others clinging on the draft of air that whisked towards them. "What is it you want. If you can't see, I'm busy tending to him," She stated, looking back towards Atticus before returning her gaze to the black wolf.

There had only been minor hinting that the brute remained not alone. The presence of another, one keeping unseen and distanced, had lingered in the furthest reach of his mind- They were of no concern, not yet anyway. If they posed a threat, they would have demonstrated a better sense of stealth. No matter, he had pressed on, and by now was standing directly before the smaller creature. She had positioned herself before her companion, a small rumble escaping her throat, it wasn't all that threatening in the brutes mind, but the protectiveness was heard.
"You know," Soon she began to talk, her voice hard and lacking invitation to kindness, "There's a border marking for a reason. What is it you want? If you can't see, I'm busy tending to him." She had visibly glanced past him, looking for something out of place, more wolves or added threat to his presence. "If I'd wanted something- I'd have taken it." Slowly his words began to filter through, the heavy accentuation of foreign tone to be heard, causing each word to sound stronger than intended. "I was resting not far off, the growling of your- Companion- Caught my attention." As he seemed to contemplate what word to use for her friend, he'd glance towards the slumbering mass, a glint of curiosity in his eyes before they'd jump back to the female.
"I'm not here to cause harm. Merely assessing what had been happening to cause such disturbance." His ears to offer an almost apologetic rearward fall, muscles bulging and rippling as he shifted his weight from paw to paw. "But, it is clear he is in the capable hands of a seasoned Salutary. I will leave you." The compliment was one of few the male had ever given, though he was inclined to attempt to win over her trust, or the ability to remain in the area, but her posturing, possessiveness and speech, had informed him of otherwise.
With the dip of his crown, one that caused his ears to rotate sideways, eyes to half-close, and nape to arch, he would offer a silent farewell. Pulling around tightly to his left, he spotted the blur of white in the corner of his vision, his mind mentally taking note before he began to stride in the direction of which he'd come. "If you're watching me, I suggest you follow. Now." The hefty tone had dropped all sincerity it had possessed for the healer, his thoughts trickling over what exactly this new 'stranger' had wanted. From a scent drifting in the breeze, he'd determined it to be a female, though nothing else gave way to new information of any use.
If at all he was halted by the she behind him, he would halt in his tracks, head partly arching to the right as he'd cast a half-glance in her direction. Seeking more depth to what exactly she was after with the mere spark of desire in his eyes. If she had not stopped him, he would continue on, the sway to his step notable, the pride and dominance of his posture undeniable, and the strength of his mass clearly defined as he slipped back into the greenery of the forest.
When the white stranger approached if, at all she did, he would guide her along an alternate track to where his compadre's lay. There were questions to ask, answers to be had. Slowly he let his stride shorten, his tail having begun to tighten its curl over his flanks, eyes of darkened cocoa matching the untinged optics of grey backed bitch. He was only a mere two inches larger, and possibly a few more pounds heftier, but that didn't phase his stature. 'T' shaped hackles of snow and soot would prickle along his shoulders and spine, ears locking to their target, and ivory stained lip twitching the slightest- Singular yellowed dagger to be noted.
"And what, exactly, do you want?" There was no glimmer of positivity in the foreign male's voice. The depth was void, and the tone gruff and jagged as he sought only the truth and straight up answer. He didn't do 'small talk', and that would be clear as he cut straight to the chase. She held herself in a manner that could have been taken as threatening, matching his gaze with her own and carrying herself tall. Yes, she had a similar dominant streak, but that didn't cause any altercation in his mind. Opposites worked best when it came to similar attitude, same-genders did not. So, for now, he held himself firmly, rigid muscles prepared for if she had other intentions that those of 'friendly' nature.
If they were still in the open clearing where the other she and brute were located, he would offer no ease to his posturing and speech. He was just as unkind as many, and in a world destined for eat or be eaten, it was hard to know who was trustworthy and who was not.

Hemlock stumbled back pulling his ears back. "I'll...Umm...Just go." Hemlock said nervously before bounding off into the distance. Hemlock was unsure as to where he was supposed to go. His whole life every decision was made for him, he could go anywhere and do anything, but it quite frankly scared him. He didn't have the skills to survive in the wild like other wolves. All he had ever known was to listen and he'd be rewarded, but he had no one to listen to. Hemlock walked for what felt like miles before he stopped to rest. The grass became shorter and in the distance, he could hear the crashing of waves and he could smell the ocean spraying against the rocks. Although he had never heard or smelled the ocean he knew it was water. The thundering crashing of waves had initially scared him, he thought there was a storm ahead. Hemlock laid down on the ground, He watched as the clouds absorbed the light of the sun turning into pink, orange and yellow puffs in the sky. His eyes grew heavy as the night slowly consumed the sky and the stars began to appear in the night sky.

Kazuko ; Rogue Wolf
"At some point, you'll have to turn around and face the person who wants you dead. The hard part is finding the courage to do it."
Absentmindedly, Kazuko stared at her alabaster paws, fidgeting around in the slightest. Twisting her cranium, the bitch would merely watch the scene ahead of her unfold, finding the apologetic stature of the male to be rather amusing. Chuckling inwardly, her ear would twitch as the male finished his practically one-sided conversation with the salutary, and turned to speak to Kazuko herself. Lifting one eyebrow, soft eyelids fluttered downloads momentarily as silk-like red vines wrapped around her, haunting her with his deep, accented voice. Shaking her head softly, colorless voids were soon revealed again, any hint of emotion drained. "If you're watching me, I suggest you follow. Now." Kazuko almost wanted to snicker, and retort with a firm, but sarcastic 'Yes, Sir!'. But, instead of shattering her first impression, and would instead waltz after him, her hips and tail swaying slightly as she followed, the alabaster flag hung above her head, but flopped casually at the tip. Inspecting him with pale optics, the male stood confidently, his hackles prickling unlike herself, her muscles loose, and shoulders relaxed. The only indicator of her internal conflict was her ever-moving ears, constantly trying to dull the sounds around her. "And what, exactly, do you want?" Eyeing him, she would jerk her muzzle backwards, where the male had confronted the other rogue. He had been attempting to recruit her, to Kazuko, it was painfully obvious. She had used the technique before, butter them up, make the pack life seem so good.
"Just the same as you, apparently." The large bitch allowed her eyes to lazily search his darkly hued voids, habitually digging out any emotion she could. Inside her head she could hear the whispers, urging her to manipulate, and kill. But her face remained placid as she disregarded her inner thoughts. "So, tell me," She allowed her rump to kiss the ground, her gaze held the faintest amount of curiosity. "Why are you going around, kissing the asses of these wolves?" Kazuko tilted her head, her voice slurred in a slight tease. In all honestly, this male had shown some of the characteristics of a leader. But she had seen a few mere minutes of him, how was she to know if he would even manage to get more then 2 wolves to stay with him. Pricking her ears oh-so-slightly, she awaited a response, her shoulders pulling back until they popped.

Ketsueki looked towards the brute, his black fur covering the mass of muscles that he was. He put her on edge, especially with how foreign his voice sounded. Giving a small glance backwards towards Atticus, the other male seemingly was like her, blunt and to the point. Although, there was little illusion behind his words, she still remained cautious. She wasn't sure if she would be able to trust something a stranger said. He could be saying that he wasn't wanting something, when it was indeed that he was wanting something. Maybe he saw how she had tended to Atticus and was interested in her healing abilities? He did compliment her about them, which caught Ketsueki off guard a little. He had probably been watching the entire time that she had tended to Atticus, so she would have no reason to further inquire about what he wanted. Looking towards Atticus, and back towards the new male, she watched as he seemed to address someone who was lurking in the background.
"Wait," She called, looking towards the other male. "Who are you? Are there others with you?" Ketsueki wasn't sure if she should be asking this, especially considering Atticus wasn't awake to make proper decisions with her, but maybe this wolf was of more importance than she thought. She wasn't swayed by power, but she simply didn't want to create enemies. Especially not now with Atticus being as wounded as he was. If she were to make enemies and they were attacked, she would end up dying more than likely, as would Atticus. Giving a small huff, she looked towards the sleeping brute, hoping that he would wake up at that moment so she could tell him what all was going on. But she might not want him awake, simply for the fact that he would be rather overprotective with their territory, or over her. She wasn't sure about that last one, but she hoped that whatever the reason, he would listen before he jumped immediately to conclusions.

ᗩᒪIᑕE "Don't let fear of what could happen make nothing happen."
As the male made no move to answer his question and seemed to go out of his way to avoid anything that would give way to conversation, Alice simply laid down where he was. If the male desired quietness, then Alice would comply easily. He was not much for conversation either, but being in a group where no one knew each other, wasn’t it normal to converse? Probably wasn’t even normal for a group of strangers to be relaxed around each other. Then again, two large males was a very intimidating and who would attack that? Probably another group with a greater number of larger males. His head turned to stare at the precious form laying down, her name almost like silk compared to the baritone of her companion. A smile graced his lips at her introduction, “It’s a pleasure meeting you, Iya.” With introductions out of the way now, his head turned to listen in on the sounds around him. He was intent on keeping his senses focused but also wanted to remain relaxed in hopes of not stepping on the toes of the obvious Leader. “Stay here,” sliced through the air had Alice standing on all fours in a matter of seconds. He had heard what sounded like chatter but paid no mind to it. Not because he did not find the noises threatening but it was not his job to worry over such things. He took the role as an obedient observer for the other male and would not extend possession or territorial instincts towards him. As Kazimer disappeared into the brush, Alice returned to sitting on his rump with his head on constant lookout. Just in case. He wondered if Iya wanted to talk at all. He could already tell that she was not, normal, for lack of a better word. But she was also an adult and seemed healthy enough to be considered competent, which meant she would not be treated anything less than another wolf. At least in Alice’s case he would not. Opening his maw, he began to make a noise as if to start speaking but closed his mouth with a tight click. A small sigh followed before he went back to being a sentry. If she wished to speak, he would follow suit, but he would not push the topic towards her in fear of making her feel pressured.

"Wait,"
Instantly, upon bitch's interjection, the giant's stride came to a halt. A singular, onyx mix ivory auricle rotating rearwards as the small fireball spoke forth a duo of well-positioned questions. Who was he, and did he bring with him the addition of others. For a moment, he stood in silence, though with the slightest, inaudible puff of breath, he would take a half-stride to his left, angling enough to side-ways glance in her direction.
"I am Kazimir. And there are few with me." The rolling words slid from his maw with ease. His ears partially rotating to the sides as his broad skull dipped in the slightest proper greeting with the presentation of his calling. He wasn't entirely sure how to proceed on the topic of his 'companions', after all he lacked true knowledge about their intention. One was a blind, hushed bitch, the other a mottled brute who held a feminine title. They were strangers to him, but both held little threat in his mind, and as such, he had chosen to let them remain until proven otherwise. Part of him hoped the female rear to him would chose the same path, though that was only if her unconcious comrade held no say.
With the thoughts to slither between each notion in his mind, before long, he'd continued on his way, his desire to inquire the other females presence churning within his cage. Kazimir barely made it a few meters into the greenery before he paused in his tracks, eyes watching as the prancing new-comer emerge from her hiding spot. His calling her of her presence going answered as she approached with great ease. She was relaxed, tail held high yet flopped, her only indication of hesitation were the never-halting hearing-aids perched atop her crown.
"Just the same as you, apparently." Her response held slight confusion, though the brute barely faltered as he let his dark, hazel orbs meet her lazy ivories. "So, tell me, why are you going around, kissing the asses of these wolves?" Only slightly larger in stature he watched as the

His mind almost suggested that Ketsueki had put him in a more comfortable position. He felt as his wounded figure was gently lowered, though his thoughts were too muddled to interpret what was happening. For now, a risky move on his part, he for once left his trust in the small she-wolf to protect his body. If someone were to attack him and she didn't attempt at fending them off, well he might hold them off for a bit but there was no way he'd win. Not wounded enough to slip out of consciousness, Atticus let his mind drift into secret thoughts that his inner demon forbid normally. Why had he been so keen to save Ketsu from the boar? As if he ever gave two shits about anyone in this world. And why was he being particuarly stubborn with her? His mind then drifted toward recently, while the she-wolf mended to his fresh wounds. Her being a medic, it was way to controversial to tell if she was only doing her job or showing any sort of feelings in the form of kindness. Yet, the pair had been together for a while, so perhaps she was having the same odd thoughts as him. Atticus shook his head, shooing away the thoughts as well as unintentionally waking himself up. Cold mahogany hues blinked through the sun's light, almost instantly pinpointing onto a large male stranger. Talking to Ketsu?! And then his orbs glanced toward another, a white she-wolf in the distance. " Who the fuck," he'd grunt aloud, willing himself onto heavy paws despite the searing pain that irritated his wound. His eyes then found Ketsueki, still right by his side, thankfully. Atticus took this as a hint that everything was only just happening. The heavy brute took a bold step forward, his fur almost brushing his companions as he glared toward the midnight rogue. For now, and for all he could see, this male was the biggest threat to them, and Atticus surely couldn't beat him alone looking at his size. Shaking his head to blink away the tiredness that still hung in his face, he would let his hackles raise slightly, though he fought not to growl just yet. " Ketsu, what's happening? Why didn't you wake me I don't want you -" he suddenly cut off, unable to finish his sentence. He would have said 'I don't want you to get hurt' but his demon wouldn't allow it, much less was it the time or place. Despite the sudden caring nature he'd showed, Atticus would not tear his eyes off her, simply waiting for a reply before he starting spitting fire towards intruders.

While aimless wandering had never been the burgundy pup's intention, after half a year's worth of it, there came a sort of novelty. To begin each day a delightful mystery, dancing with prospects wonderfully endless, an everlasting array of adventures, excitements, thrills! Everything could be crafted into a story; all elements lay sprawled loosely before him, patiently awaiting proper assemble. There was the setting, picturesque in position, not appearance. Caves were rarely such; cramped and closely pressed together, reeking of rot - crumbling walls carrying their own unique set of dangers. However, when such walls overlooked a clearing as lovely as this, cloaked in caramel golds, it gained a subtle advantage. Mere seconds, minutes had passed since its discovery, and yet already, it held a homely nostalgia; a gentle, amicable familiarity. Surely a setting fit for a main character of the story! While that would be himself, it was important to note he was a main character - not the. Alas, the others had yet to be introduced! Beginnings could only continue unraveling so long before they became part of the actual story! Anything would do - a charming adventurer to accompany him at his side, a gruff, age-trodden elder, a playful, ditsy pup - all sufficed!
While a wide array of soft, warm scents clung to cave walls, they bordered on blunted, dull with aged wear. Softly, he'd sidled up to its trodden sides, sniffed once, twice, three times, only to be turned away from each fetid corner. A low groan began to build in back of his throat as he rolled onto an ochre back, plush red paws dangling precariously above him. Company had been horribly lacking in late, evading him by the briefest, slightest brinks. He was horrifically bored. Horrendously bored. Wolves always wandered near, per-say, the prospects of partnerships lingering just beyond the breadth of his reach - but it seemed the second they'd scented him, they sent themselves soaring away haphazardly. How peculiar - what a wonderfully odd coincidence! All he'd assume was that their tales and his couldn't intermix - and besides, the plot would call for characters when needed. Awaiting was such a sensationally tedious process though - and though his mother had warned him to let tales creep at their own steady pace, he secretly hoped his began hurrying. Which is what brought him to his current location. Caves were caked with mystery, unknown marvels waiting to be discovered - be it adventure, company, destiny - he only hoped that he'd find it here. The beginning of a new tale.

Knox's first joy in life was running, sometimes he imagined the wind blowing through his coat was the air high in the sky and that he was flying with the birds. Beautiful are those creatures, while also his favourtie meal to catch. Thinking about how it would be to have wings his already quickened pace turned into a full sprint as he raced against the wind, letting the air push against him, feet barely touching the ground before the lurched him forward, he could only imagine what it must really feel like to fly.
Breathing in controlled gasps, he ran by something interesting, his body moving to fast for his brain to properly comprehend what he saw. Coming to a full stop, dirt, leaves, and small rocks were tossed aside as he dug his claws in. At those speeds it was hard to stop quickly, and usually resulted in a mess. Turning his body he retraced his steps, still running but at a more controlled speed. Coming to stand at the clearing, a cave stood a head. A single fresh scent lingered in the air, and he swore he saw movement inside. Slowing down to a trot he circled the clearing, trying to pear inside the darkness. He was curious, more curious than he had been in a while.
Doing another circle he finally got the courage to go the entrance and peer inside. Letting his eyes adjust, true enough, their was somebody inside however, they were on their back legs splayed in the air. The sight of the chest rising assured Knox that the body was alive. The appearance of the other resembled more of a dog than wolf, but his scent was wolfish. Wagging his tail rapidly, he realized the other was like himself, what wolves called a 'hybrid'.
Coming a little more in, he let a goofish grin grace his features as his tail wagged away behind him. Head lowered he let out a small laugh at the other's position before speaking up, "Are you even comfy laying like that?"

Time passed with precarious slowness; the softest gentlest slip of midday heat warming each thick ebony wall. Autumn wind adamantly persisted; a prevalent chill playfully whistling on the curtails of an otherwise pleasant gust. However, despite all efforts, while it beat the borders of its opening and curled up cockily in its entrance, he remained happily untouched. Sleep had saddled his eyelids, warmth deliberately weighing down each darkened eye lash. Gradually, each muscle gave into gravity, remaining perfectly relaxed in all initial laziness. Surely, his solitary adventuring could await just one more day. For now, he'd remain happily at peace as sleep patiently settled over him; cool stone contrasting mellow, cozy warmth. Silence had settled comfortably over its onyx maw; only the occasional stirrings of an outsider succeeding in swiveling a single ear towards their tiny entrance. Like now, for instance - a sharp, fresh scent rapidly skidding to a halt, paws scrabbling wildly against worn earth, showering the small exit in nature's bounty. A soft, amused huff escaped thin ebony nostrils, each sound echoing so distinctly sharp he could have pictured it perfectly. Faint, skewed facts lazily floated within the wanderer's scent, touching the top of an outstretched maw with a wisp of intrigue. A male. Older - older then him at least. Seemed vaguely wolfish, and then not, just like - him.
"Are you even comfy laying like that?" A low, gentle laugh filled the chamber as softened eyes snapped open; a sudden, poignant surge of excitement gripping his gaze. Unconsciously, the short fluffy slip of his tail flew into an incredible frenzy, beating ambient, still air into a breeze. "Extremely," he quipped, unable to conceal a giddy, playful grin, craning his head in a weak attempt to get a glimpse of the stranger. Alas, he found his efforts futile, rolling onto an ochre side with a sheepish, airy smile. "You should definitely try it sometime." The male, though markedly smaller then him, bore every bit of the other half of his ancestry in his face, slim and sharp-muzzled. It was the body that betrayed him - the broad, doggish build, the double coated, dense fur. Curiously, he took one tentative step towards him, proceeded by another, unable to soothe the soft giddy swish of his tail. He was right. Each suspicion, each hazed nagging hope was right. "You're - you're not a wolf are you? You're like me. Different." Excitement gleaned within grey pools, glowingly apparent with each wriggling bounce. Half a year's worth of travel, and this was the first animal somewhat, vaguely similar to himself. Not a wolf, not a dog - but something beautifully, entirely different - a hybrid. How could he not feel a rush, some thrilling surge of intrigue? "I'm Astro," he began, a shy, gentle smile tugging the corners of an onyx maw. "What's your name?"

Knox felt his tail that was swinging behind him pick up speed by the kind reply, and even faster at the sight of the strangers own tail wagging away. Watching as the male moved closer, he gave a big goofish grin, moving closer into the cave as well. "I will, although, I'm much to excited to lay down right now," genuine honesty shined from his eyes, his salmon tongue quickly flicking across his nose. Knox could tell the other was observing him, just the way his eyes rolled over his onyx body had almost wanting to strike a pose or flex muscle, but he kept his desires down.
The question though had the four year old cocking his head to the side. "I'm a wolf, I guess," he said, a little confused. To him he was no different than others of his kind, but he did have to admit that there were differences. His own eyes finally grazed over the other male, noticing similarities and the differences to the rogues he ran across. "I know what you mean, though" he stated slowly, not too found of the subject of why 'purebred' wolves ostrasized him. "I guess, we are are alike, huh?" serious expression replaced with a friendly smile that quickly blossomed into another large grin.
"Your name is very pretty, Astro," he finally said, letting the name roll off his tongue. "My own is Knox," he quipped up, moving forward a little closer to the male. Finally within a few feet of the other, he could really feel the height difference. Astro was nearly a foot taller than him, making him feel like a pup. At this distance he had to tilt his head up to look at the others face. Astro's fur was striking, more decorative and beautiful than any other creature he had seen. The only comparison that he could come up with would be deer, but the way the male holds himself he quite doubt the similarity went past coat colors.
Knox let his tail resume the intense speed as he began to feel a connection form between him and Astro. A friend at last, and they shared more in common than he knew.
Tagged: @astro, I will being playing with different type of relationship feelings (as they will be similar to how I feel towards those I connect with), but they will not be romantic as I am aware those relationship types are not allowed on here - but it might sound romantic, but its not. Its infatuation which can be platonic.

Astro had always heard that eyes were supposedly windows to the soul. If this were the case, then smiles were surely doorways. Warmth pooled within a golden, bright-eyed gaze, contentment dancing candidly as sunlight. Lips curled, lifting in a giddy, playful grin so genuinely sweet he couldn't help but hand over an uncontainable, irrepressible urge to reciprocate. It came infectiously riveting, the kind where happiness would flare against the ash of his eyes and radiate the world around him; the softest, gentlest slip of soul beaming through. Tepid, arid tufts of logic whispered that though this was the answer to his wish, perhaps he shouldn't hurtle in nose first- and yet, the moment they appeared, they departed. Finally, a friend! Half a year's worth of travel, and finally he'd found something akin to an ally! "Your name is very pretty, Astro," he chirped, taking a tentative step towards him. Excitement gleamed within golden pools as he allowed a pitch dark tail to resume its rigorous whip. A small, playful smile found bright auburn features, unable to soothe the soft, giddy swish of his tail at his accidental revelation. Up closer, the male seemed incredibly small - and in a world where he'd found himself at the short end of the genetic lottery - there came a gentle amusement. "My own is Knox."
"Aw, thanks Knox!" The short, thick slip of his tail whipped in a typical animated show of exuberance; a shy, airy laugh slipping through sorrel jaws. "You've got a great name too! It's been a while since I've gotten any good company." A soft, amused huff of air puffed between puce nostrils. "Wolves here run like rabbits if they scent a soul five, six feet away. Seem awfully shy." Curiously, he cocked his head to the side, revisiting unexpected recollections. How peculiar it was that every wolf's scent - no matter what breed, gender, build - wafted away the second he scented them! Coincidence, surely - but had Knox himself experienced his new phenomena? Oh, he'd ask him later; they'd far bigger fish to fry now! Like swapping tales of adventure, both past and planned or even organizing something of their own; limitless, infinite possibility! "If you don't mind my asking," he beamed happily. "Where you heading off too? I've been traveling on my own since last winter - like to think I've gotten a good sense of my own surroundings. If you'd like," he pitched with a subtle, gentle shyness. "I could definitely come along."

Knox listened kindly to Astro as the taller of the two talked comfortably. Knox had to admit he was glad for the company but he could already feel his limbs becoming restless. He slowly began to move his weight back and forth between his front limbs as he tried to be respectful. To be honest, Knox had never quite noticed the extent of other's avoidance, then again, he always seemed to be too fast for most to get away. Normally pulling emergency breaks before crashing into others or groups, talking awkwardly before he would sprint off again. Pack borders were the few places he tried to avoid personally, the thought of large structured groups made him a little nervous on the inside.
Hearing the question, Knox could only roll out a salmon tongue in a purposeful goofy grin; he liked to think of it as his signature move. "Hm," he mumbled, eyes darting to the side in thought. How long had he been traveling, "A couple years now," he said, moving his rump to the ground as his mind wondered a little bit. His body stilling for a just a moment before his orange eyes returned to Astro's form. "I don't really have plans to head anywhere specific, but I should probably start looking for somewhere to settle soon," nodding to his own words, as if this thought just came to him and he was affirming to himself that this would be his next goal.
Eyes flickering back up at the mention of Astro coming along had Knox bounding to his feet once more. "I'd love to have company! I know this land fairly well, but I like moving so I haven't stayed in one place too long, but if you want to explore a type of place, just say it and I could probably take you somewhere to that description."
