Thin alabaster paws made quick work over the burned expanse of Lubrsucan territory. It was odd how comfortable the dame was with the scarred land, it was as if her surroundings now reflected not only her physical appearance, and her mental state. As time passed, the pack seemed to slowly be regaining the vitality they lacked for so long. For once, they were beginning to thrive among the disasters that surrounded them. Of course, their situation was less than ideal, but improvement dusted the pack in a thin veil of hope. Perhaps, just perhaps, they could gain the glory they always had strived for, but were simply too weak to previously achieve? As of now, it was a pipe dream. Clamped between snow flecked jaws were two average sized mice. After the fires, something even as small as this required not only extensive travel, but an unholy amount of effort. The dame’s three remaining legs burned with an unsoothing fire, wounds that laced her faded and healed still cried with wisps of soreness. Alas, muscles continued to churn beneath scarred skin, continuing the brisk pace until she reached the common grounds, unaware of the commotion that occured. But as the dainty female encroached on the area, an awfully familiar scent slapped harder than the cyclops in Ferus could ever manage. Flint. Why? What? Just, what? How had she not recognized his scent before? All she initially recognized was Ebo- Oh. Had Flint been escorted? Was he injured? Did something happen at Ferus? Minor anxiety prickled at the heart of the Scout as she skated along the side of where her pack congregated. Offering a quick, albeit worried, smile to Dante, she dropped the two mice by his paws. He could do what he’d like with them, after all, there were many pups and superiors to feed. Kai, on the other hand, could wait. Her form was becoming increasingly thin, appetite was never truly on her mind. Food was fuel, and the Scout wasted time to eat it only when necessary. Veering away from Dante with a friendly flick of her half-tail, the battle scarred bitch stood a respectful distance from the superiors who surrounded Flint. Immediately, her eyes hardened on the sight of him. Showing any sign of friendliness could risk both of their positions within their pack, and ruin any respect they had. Respect Kai was trying so desperately to get back. Though she yearned to at least skim over his form, check for any injuries or signs something was wrong - she could not. For now, he was the wolf who ruined her leg. Flattening cream hued auricles, onyx gums bared ever-so-slightly to reveal the tips of the dame’s canines, only furthering her facade. Warm memories of their travels together threatened to soothe the harsh demeanor she displayed, but they were easily displaced by memories of their battle; the pain, the dead bodies of her only friends. He did this. It was his fault. Suddenly, the anger flowed easily, any positive associations with the Ferus Hunting Superior quickly melting away. Leaning in, the dame listened eagerly to the news he bore, flowery hues attuned to his every movement. “This threat takes life in a pack currently residing in Dry Woods. The entire lot of them are cannibals and cultists,” Kai nearly gagged. Cannibals? Those existed? Terrifying. Sickening. Every word the male spoke twisted and haunted the traumatized female further. This ‘pack’ sounded simply.. Horrific. Kai listened in excruciating detail, hanging onto every last syllable the rugged male spoke. It was admirable, really, how devoted he seemed to not only his pack, but the well fare for all. “Are there any willing to fight for the greater good?” Carefully, Kai padded forwards, newly defined muscles and ribs apparent underneath the surplus of old wounds that littered her skin. Calmly, she dipped her head not only to Ventus - but to Mochi. The male she had previously had an outroar with, effectively brandishing the word ‘Rebel’ on her skin. It was prime time to earn their trust back. “I’ll go.” Kai looked evenly toward her superiors, cool tones reflecting her somber attitude. “Don’t risk any superiors, they’re vital for guarding the pack if” Narrow hues swept toward Flint in accusatory glare, gleaming with hatred. “The threat is truly as dangerous as this Scout foretells. Plus, I’ve been in battle before,” Again, a glance toward Flint, “And lived.” She looked back to presumably Mochi, unless Ventus returned following what seemed to be a misplaced child. Kai took a step toward the Alpha, lowering her voice to a hardly audible whisper. “My death does not determine success or failure for this pack, nor does my presence. I am an acceptable wolf to risk. And you know it.”

For a few, lovely brief seconds, it was just him and Macha. Staring into one another's eyes, graphite colliding with ochre in a moment of pure serenity. Inevitably, it was shattered by other voices, the main one being of his adopted aunt Ventus, "I think it's best you simply leave. Inquire with the other packs. Although, I thought Ferus was strong in itself to defend its borders. Seems you've finally met your match." While she dealt out the sass to the intruder in their midst, Parker reluctantly drew his gaze to the spitfire Alphess. These days he viewed her as less of an Aunt and more of an Alphess. The days of clinging to Joktan like a child to its parent were cut tragically short, but as he was growing up he was beginning to realize that he didn't need to lean on anyone like that anymore. He was perfectly capable of standing on his own four paws. Ventus didn't need the burden of caring for her ever-growing pups, her newest child, and her pack to be made heavier by a near-adult dragging on her. No, instead he would continue to be a reluctantly functional member of the pack and annoy Mochi by courting his daughter.
A thought came to the blond male's mind. The scrap of felt that Ventus had delivered, that surely was the product of her and Mochi. That one squirming bundle was Mochi's actual daughter. From all he knew of Macha, she had stumbled across him and the pair had adopted one another as a family. How would Macha feel knowing that Mochi now had two daughters? Had she made the connection yet in her beautiful mind? Even if Mochi's daughterly attention was now split between the two beings, Parker would make sure that Macha got just the right amount of attention from him if she so desired. He didn't want her to feel excluded by the pack, especially now that she was on pup sitting duties and Salutary double assistant duties and he was going to have to do way more training if the words of this 'Flint' wolf were true.
His internal worrying was cut short by Ventus making a quick dash towards the grouped wolves, her well-disguised panic rising past her calm facade. "Where is she?" it was the simplest of questions but Parker's mind had blanked. The last time he had seen the pup was when she had dropped her off, the mewling bundle being sheltered by Devika. However, now that Devi was talking to Dante, where had she gone? Surely she wasn't white enough to blend in with the snow entirely. Someone must know where she was! Quickly, Parker mouthed to Macha, 'Where is the pup?' If everyone around her was panicking, Macha deserved to at least know why, and maybe even help out.
“I’ll go,” Just to add to the general sense of chaos around the river, Kai's sudden voice swept Parker's gaze away from the ground around him. The yearling had to admit that the scout was strong, stronger than most, but when it came to the issue of volunteering to track down a supposed cult of murderers and cannibals with a wolf she had fought it war, it just didn't seem like all that good of an idea. A yearling was in no place to say anything though, so Parker merely listened in on the reason that Kai wanted to volunteer with the crazy mission, “Don’t risk any superiors, they’re vital for guarding the pack if the threat is truly as dangerous as this Scout foretells. Plus, I’ve been in battle before and lived. My death does not determine success or failure for this pack, nor does my presence. I am an acceptable wolf to risk. And you know it.” The scout surely sold herself well, albeit in a way that shot herself down. With the issue of Kai leaving likely preoccupying one of the members of the Alpha pair, Parker turned his attention back to the ground, scanning it fruitlessly for any sign of the Alphess' youngest child.

Thank goodness, Maddox shared the same sense of humour as him. "I don't know, maybe if we hold our breaths long enough, it'd go away?" Maddox let a rolling laugh bubble out of his chest, completely oblivious to the chaos occurring around the den. His little sister didn't share the same jolly nature, her paws reaching out to smack the lanky pup's nose with a peep of, “That’s not a nice thing to ask! And tell one of the stories Dad tells us about Mom.” With a dramatic sigh, Milo nuzzled closer to the squealing lump, trying to brainstorm another good story, "Hey, Milo! Got any good stories about Mochi? Or funny ones? Also, what do we call her? Little fluff monster?" Maddox's voice grew a little bit softer as he cuddled closer to their new cousin. Little Fluff Monster? That was a HORRIBLE name! Who would name their kid 'Little Fluff Monster?' "Nuh uh! From now on, her name should be... um... Snowbelle! Yeah! Snowbelle, like snowball but made pretty!" Milo exclaimed, addressing the easiest of the issues. While he was wracking his brain for any good stories of Mochi or their Mom, the muffled voice of his Aunt sounding panicked outside the den was getting really distracting. How was he supposed to figure out a good story while some lady was losing her head outside the den? Moving away from his baby cousin's side, Milo wriggled his way past Macha's hopefully flatulentless behind. A pair of mismatched ears attached to a quizzical face popped out of the den, the lankiest son of the General making his presence known with a quick bark, "Hey, could you guys stop making such a ruckus? You're interrupting my amazing storytelling time with Snowbelle." With a cheeky grin, the pup darted back down into the den, his mind still unfortunately empty of ideas to tell the smallest pup. This morning was odd. The observant pup usually woke up at the same time has his father, shadowing the general as he got on with his daily activities. Today though, he woke up second last. The ivory pup mused that he must have played harder than he had initially thought, tuckering himself out so much that he slept through a good chunk of the morning. Almost automatically after waking up, the mammalian owlet wanted to go greet his father, perhaps see what he had missed on this odd morning. However, his eyes barely registered a difference in light once he opened them, the mouth of the den blocked off by something. Before he set about panicking, the youngest of the litter turned to the silhouettes of his siblings, his head cocked in confusion. They surely weren't panicking. If anything, they were energized by something. That something soon came into view, a blindingly white object in the low light. A slick of snow? Milo or Basil would definitely have brought that into the den for a great game, albeit a quick game, of 'Hunt.' However, his inky little sister was still fast asleep beside him, and he wouldn't think that Milo, Maddox, and Cecilia all together would cuddle a piece of snow. At that moment, the white blob moved, a shrill little squeak leaving it. Nascha only stared at the small being. It obviously wasn't some other sudden child of their father, it didn't smell like any member of his immediate family. Naturally, the young male had woken up just a few minutes too late for their father's rushed explanation of the small pup's presence, but by a simple process of elimination, it was clear to see that this was a new cousin. By Milo's stutter, he highly doubted that tiniest princess' name was actually 'Snowbelle,' but for now, he would accept that moniker for the pup. Stepping away from his one remaining slumbering sibling, the owl-faced pup approached the group as Milo left to poke his head past the seeming wolf that was blocking the den. Instantly taking the place of his older brother, the fluffy pup cuddled up next to the squirming bundle. She wasn't cold, simply exploring the world with sealed eyes and ears. As he woke up he remembered his brother's voice speaking in the same tone that their father used when he told them about their mother, perhaps he was telling a story? What a silly thing to do! The little 'Snowbelle' couldn't even hear yet, why bother telling her stories? At least it passed the time well, but it wasn't nearly as fun as a game. "So," Nascha began slowly, looking towards his siblings, "I really shouldn't oversleep! Do you guys know why she's in here?" Outside voices naturally filtered in past the blockage at the front of the den, but he couldn't make out words with all the sounds. Hopefully, all would be explained soon and they would be able to leave the den and start playing at last! Scout Cecilia Apprentice Maddox Alphess Ventus @dante #62af0e

PUP CECILIA OF LUBRUSCA
Cecilia looked towards her brother, Nascha, as he finally awoke and plopped over to them. Nodding her head, she opened her small mouth and spoke quietly. “Stranger is here, this is Aunt Venti’s baby, we’re supposed to keep her warm,” she ended her explanation with a kiss on the child’s head.
Hearing commotion outside, she watched her one of her brothers return. Cocking her head she wondered exactly what he told the adults. Frowning at her brother’s possible inability to understand what has happening or the seriousness of the situation, she stood and moved passed Macha. She saw Parker and Ventus looking around, the later more frantic.
“If Aunt Venti is looking for her baby, its in here,” she whispered yelled at Parker, her little feet shuffling in the den entrance. She didn’t mind Macha’s fur against her own, but gladly snuggled into it as eyes were drawn to her. Hiding in the fur she dipped back inside.

Slipping back into the den, the lanky pup flicked his folded ear as he thought of some story to tell to Snowbelle. As Cece stepped up to the mouth of the den, probably to offer up something less joking to the adults lingering outside, Milo took up a place next to the squirming pup. "Okay, once upon a time there was this really pretty she-wolf named Elenor, and she was in a den having a nap when this handsome male named Dante stumbled upon her. At first, she didn't really like him, but he brought her a fish every day and they fell in love. It was basically love at first sight. That's the story of how my parents met," the lighthearted tale rolled off the talkative pup's tongue easily. Their father often told the litter that story before they went to bed, it was one of their favourites. "Anyone else have any good stories about Mom and Dad?" Milo's question turned to the rest of his litter, knowing that his brother on the other side of the squirming pup was more of a listener than any sort of storyteller. The search for the Alphess' youngest pup was made much easier by the appearance of Milo and Cecilia. The first of the pups to pop their head out jokingly asked the group outside to be a bit quieter as they were disturbing a suspiciously named wolf named 'Snowbelle' when no Snowbelle existed in Lubrusca. Giving the disappearing male a joking quizzical grin, Parker flicked his attention over to Cece as her head popped out of the den. “If Aunt Venti is looking for her baby, its in here,” the General's daughter whispered to the golden hunter. "Thank you, Cecilia," the hunter whispered back to her before she disappeared back into the den. Turning to the panicked spitfire Alphess, Parker barked out, "Ventus, I think Dante placed your pup into his den with his litter to keep her safe." The yearling took a small step away from the mouth of the den, giving the precious being guarding the mouth of it a gentle flick of his head so that she would know that it was safe to move away from the den. - Beta Ebony - Someone who cannot hate something, cannot love something, either. He adjusted to the half-light of the breaking day bursting through the clearing, his eyes flashing on his impassive face with weary reminiscence. The last images he'd captured here were of pups gyrating through piles of snow with Prim as their watchful eye, frolicking as if being jangled by invisible strings. Upon return to the river, the images became memories. Innocent chatter was silenced, pups were rushed to the den, and the young apprentices were prepared for an encounter with the Big Bad Wolf. Ebony had trained Lubrusca to pick up the scent of a single Ferus wolf within a two-mile radius; it appeared the pack was expecting Flint's arrival. All eyes were alight when Ventus exited the den with her pound of white dangling from her maw, entrusted to the young huntress Devika who had become helplessly enamored by the small creature as soon as it was set at her feet. Ventus made a smart choice. If there were to be a spar, the Ferus wolf would oppose either Ventus, Mochi, Dante, or Ebony. The apprentices were of the least concern. He ambled directly to the alphess. She was weak from maternity and needed comfort and protection by her more qualified male confederates. His wooden gaze passed over Devika momentarily, curious about her shifting persona. How could one love something that could not love them back, let alone something entirely unbeknown to them only moments earlier? He saw similar phases in Parker's behavior. His transparent hostility towards Flint vanished with Cecilia in his care. He was nearly bursting⏤prancing, actually⏤with affection as she swung under his maw. His body movements were gentle as he placed her in the den, only to transform into the same untrusting tension he saw at the hunting grounds. Yet, again, at the sight of Ventus's lone pup he abandoned his haste and resorted to a protective stature. Ebony had seen Parker's persona change three times within two minutes at the grace of a pup. There certainly was something intoxicating about it that the beta could not understand.Despite the unsettling content of Flint's address, Ebony was pleased to hear it rather than continue speculating how one meaningless, two-pound life had the ability to compel anybody who laid eyes on it."Lubrusca, the entire four for that matter — are currently facing the single greatest threat to their existence that’s ever arisen."Interesting. He fantasized about the possibilities; he may have had an opportunity that didn't involve babysitting or regulating snowfights. “The entire lot of them are cannibals and cultists, the very worst our kind has to offer. Yet their strength is increasing exponentially under the terms of their mission: to divide and destroy all that fail to align themselves under their rule. They’ve destroyed countless groups already, slaughtering the young, crippled, and helpless and enslaving handpicked survivors to serve under their regime. Males are most often starved into helplessness, used as living targets for their superiors to sharpen their teeth on, devoured when they grow too feeble to give a good fight. Females are used to carry on their Alpha’s protégé...”Flint's words began to disappear, as if Ebony was submerged in water trying to listen to the surface. The vivid description of these butchers was eerily reminiscent of his family's slaughter, images he hadn't recalled since the day he escaped the hills. He felt the ice piercing his feet while his mask burned with unwelcome surges, sensations that had never bothered him before. By the time he was pulled to the surface, the pack had dispersed but Kai and the superiors.Devika, though terrified, had offered herself, willing to lay down her life. She, like Ebony, did not serve herself. It was Dante who decidedly put the huntress's life above the "greater good." Ebony could not fathom his feelings as easily as he could Devika's. Yet, Kai was not rejected by anybody. What made her life less valuable to the others than Devika's? Kai was the more useful associate; her skills were far more crucial to the pack than Devika's. As he tried to wrap his head around these unreasonable behaviors, Fenrir became heated, a trend among the younger males of the pack."We don't know this guy, he came from the pack that warred with ours before we were born, and you're just going to believe everything he says and go with him? What if this cannibal pack doesn't even exist?"Even Ebony could have told him that Flint was being truthful, and that this crazed pack was as real Fenrir already knew. The beta, however, wasn't one to educate on emotions. The pup was afraid for Devika, as he should've been. It was unwise of Mochi and Ventus to disregard the Ferus messenger. The alphess in particular was too enveloped by her interest in the newborn, as were many others. The thought of the pup leaving eyesight had proven more pressing than the information they had just borne."I would advise you to heed his warning." he quietly warned after approaching the alphess for a private discussion. He made sure that the pup was found before delving into his concerns. "I'm leaving, Ventus. I need to see for myself in order to protect you." There were no good reasons to tell Ventus the truth about his past. It didn't matter; he likely would not see her again. He turned to Ventus as he began to take his leave. "Prim is ready to take my place."
Ebony then addressed Flint privately. "I know these wolves, what they're capable of." He was certain to keep his voice down. "Lubrusca will not survive." He arched his neck, scanning the pack. For a brief moment, he pictured them as they would be within the next few days if something were not done about it. "If you truly are concerned about their survival, help me train them, and I will join you."

OMEGA MACHA OF LUBRUSCA
Macha didn’t mind guarding the entrance to the pups, feeling somewhat adult having responsibility. The feeling of accomplishment moved her to take some reflection as the adults and yearlings convened further away. She had not self reflected in a while, if ever. Of course she did passively, or how else would her speech grow to the point it has. She had been missing something as she grew up, something that Parker had. It has been nagging her mind for a while what the difference was between herself and Parker. That difference was responsibility.
Finally having a word to what she needed she wagged her tail happily. Unknown to her that Mochi was giving her added responsibilities, something she desperately needed to becoming the wolf she wanted to be. Independent, self-sufficient, and most importantly, mature.
Eyes flickered as her a familiar blondey plopped themselves down in front of her. Smiling widely, “‘ello Parker!” she chimed, watching his lips move as he spoke to her in turn.
“Mochi gave you some jobs! You get to help Fenrir, in the medicine den while Snow's sick, AND you get to watch over all of the pups because Mochi is sending us to do some new training.” The blonde male was excited in telling her the news. Her own heart pounding in her chest as she couldn’t believe her ears, or eyes in this case. She would be apprenticed to Fenrir and become a semi-guardian to the pups, at least that is how Macha was taking the news.
“Fin-rear,” she practiced saying his name. Rolling the small apprentice salutaries name off her tongue. She rarely said others names so she did not have practice with his. She hoped that the name at least sounded like his.
She watched as Parker seemed to be taken by more pack duties as he left her momentarily. Moving to help Ventus and her new boss, Fenrir. Smiling the boys way, she tried to look friendly and approachable. She knew that sometimes others, especially the younger ones, didn’t approach her as much for conversation or company.
Macha felt movement as a pup passed her side. She couldn’t tell how loud he spoke but she guessed loud cause it got the attention of Parker who returned. Another movement and another pup popped out. This one snuggled into her side, a smile appearing on the dappled she-wolf. She looked to Parker and then any other adult that came near the den. She remained in the entrance unless asked by Parker, or one of the adults.

Maddox"Maybe our future's so bright it fucking burns like a Wildfire." Maddox looked to his brother, listening to the male as he offered up a new name for the little she-wolf. Snowbelle was a pretty name, and he definitely agreed that it would fit the she-wolf a little better. He would wait for his brother to stop talking, but alas, there was a lot of commotion outside and resulted in Milo slipping away to tell the adults to quiet down. He had squished past Macha, and he wondered if the she-wolf had really noticed, as she hadn’t budged much. Milo returned to tell a story of how their father met their mother, but it was a short lived story. The pups didn’t have much to tell, especially since they were quite new to the world still, and not much had happened during the past couple of months that they had been alive. It was hard to remember any of the stories their father had told them of their mother, but Maddox raked his brain for something. “Oh! What about the story of when Dad umm…” He lost his train of thought, hearing Parker talking outside. It seemed that they were looking for Snowbelle or something of the sort. He wondered why they were all panicked. It seemed that they had forgotten they entrusted the pup to Maddox and Milo’s capable paws.
Nascha finally woke up, and questioned why the white furball was in the den, and he looked towards his brother with a small smirk. “Why! This is Snowbelle! She looks a lot like Mochi so I think this is Mochi and Ventus’ pup. Our new cousin!” He said, looking over the little one as it let out a small whine for food. “They entrusted us with the highest of responsibilities of watching over her, and telling her amazing stories!” The pup stated, puffing out his chest a little. "Do you have any to tell Nascha?” The male asked, looking towards his sibling as he waited to see if there was anything the other wanted to add. There really wasn’t much that they could do, and he felt like at any moment the little one was going to be swept away from them and back to Ventus once more. He would be saddened, but there was no way that Snowbelle was going to try nursing from him. That was gross!
“I think she’s hungry though,” He prodded his nose towards the pup who squirmed a little, searching for food. “I’m definitely not feeding her! I don’t even know how to nurse pups!”

| Alphess Ventus of Lubrusca | Ventus, in her worry, hadn’t thought to check with the other pups in the den. But with a familiar little head popping up from the den and telling them to quiet down, she felt slightly relieved. It seemed that Keala had been given the name Snowbelle by the tiny pups of Dante, and she found that quite adorable to say the least. She watched as Parker motioned for Macha to move, but the female didn’t quite budge. Ventus wondered what exactly that was about. Macha almost never ignored something that related to Parker. She wondered if the she-wolf was simply just refusing to listen, or if it was something else. But she needed in the den, and she needed in there now. Keala was much too young to go without milk for too long, although she would open her eyes and ears and be weaned soon enough. Bringing herself in front of Macha, she gave the she-wolf a look, telling her not to ignore the fiery orange she-wolf like Macha had ignored Parker. “Move,” The simple command left Ventus’ mouth, and she would wait for the she-wolf to move before she pushed herself into the den. Ventus was small enough to easily squeeze in.
The scene that she came upon was heartwarming. All of Dante’s pups were circled around Keala it felt like, the two males that often took charge - Maddox and Milo - were trying to come up with a solution to cure their boredom. “If you would like to know the actual name of your cousin, its Keala. She’s mighty hungry by now, so I should feed her,” The she-wolf said, looking towards the pups in the den. She felt terrible for sweeping away the young one so quickly, so instead she brought herself into the den. It was large enough for her to stand up straight, and so she nudged Keala towards herself, and let the pup suckle as she laid down, giving a small relieved breath. Looking towards the other pups with bright amber eyes, she gave them a small smile. “Would anyone care for a story?” She asked, looking towards them, hoping that maybe she could offer them some company while she fed the white furball that was now peacefully nursing away.

L Y S I CHeir of Lubrusca Lysic listened around him, the male not interacting with any wolf in particular. He watched as his mother departed from the Ferus’ wolf’s presence, and moved into their presence instead. It seemed that Devika, with her want to volunteer, had left Keala unattended, or so he thought. Dante however, had swooped in and moved the pup in with his own, which was not known to Lysic himself. He felt a bit of guilt slither through him as his mother frantically asked where the tiny bundle of fur was, and he couldn’t give her an answer. But as if on cue, Milo popped out from the den, pushing past Macha’s guarding fram to tell them all to quiet down, and spoke of a ‘Snowbelle’. Lysic was slightly confused on who this new wolf was. There was no way that these wolves had the time to sneak in another pup. So with the process of elimination, there was only one meaning to the name. They had his newborn sister. Looking towards Parker as he confirmed Lysic’s thoughts, he watched as the male beckoned for Macha to move, only to be ignored by the deaf female. She had looked at him and everything, so he wondered why she had outright ignored his command for her to move out of Ventus’ way. Tilting his head slightly, he watched as his mother commanded the she-wolf to move. He knew that Macha had no choice but to do so. After she would step to the side, Ventus would disappear into the den.
He could hear her voice faintly from where he was standing, and it sounded as if she had found what she had been looking for. He was glad that all the pups were safe, and that they were enjoying each other’s company. Dante’s litter would be the ones to watch over Keala, as well as her older siblings. But they were rather close in age, and thus it would more than likely lead to at least one of the male’s falling in love with her potentially. But that thought was for a later date, especially since she was barely able to squirm. He hoped that when the time came she would find a male that was suitable for her, but of course, Lysic had no say in her love life. He could still be that stickler of an older brother and make sure she was treated right. Lost in his thoughts, he noticed that Lubrusca seemed to be at a stand still. Not much was happening after what Mochi had said, and the Beta was talking to the Ferus wolf, more than likely discouraging him from taking any of their wolves from the territory. Ebony didn’t show much emotion, but he would do what was best for his pack, and Lysic knew that. It was why Ventus had chosen him as the Beta of the pack. He thought logically and thoroughly before making a decision, so any decision that he would make would be for the better of the pack. Unknown to Lysic however, this decision would be dragging Ebony away from the pack with the Ferus wolf to investigate the enemy.
Bringing himself to a standing position, Lysic looked around, trying to find someone to interact with. He needed to get to know everyone better, especially since he had mostly kept to his family and the adults. Settling his eyes on Parker, he moved towards the male, hoping that this would in itself let the male know that he was wanting to engage in conversation. Lysic wasn’t the most sociable wolf, but he definitely wasn’t the worst at it. “Hey Parker, how are you doing?” He asked, his one good eye looking over the male. “What do you think of everything that’s happened?” The question was nagging at the edge of his mind. What was everyone else thinking about what just happened. Tension sprouted quickly, but had dispersed almost as quickly as it had come. Hopefully the male would share with him what he thought, and maybe a conversation would lead from there.

The immediate no that follows her declaration is cause for embarrassment, face hot as a blush threatens to penetrate even her thick fur. Ears flattening, she turns a sullen gaze Dante’s way, lips pursed with displeasure. As he beckons her to follow him, she plods after him, using every bit of her will to keep from lowering her head or dragging her paws. She was not a child, she would not do anything like pout. Unlike the elder male, she does not sit, jaws parting to deliver her complaints in what would hopefully come off as concise rather than petulant - only to be cut off by the brute’s words. For better or for worse, you are like a daughter to me. I’ve helped to raise you and your brothers since childhood. I’ve taught you everything I know, trained you in everything I’ve been able, and watched you develop your skills. I’ve fought, laughed, and cried for you, and you have done all that and more for me. You’ve named my children. You’ve been there to raise them when the wolf that was supposed to couldn’t, and been every bit as loving as she. You’ve given them all the happiness I’d hoped they’d have. I need you. Don’t go. Stay with us. Tears well in her eyes regardless of her permission, dampening the fur of her cheeks. Raising a paw to scrub at the quickly, she hiccups out a quiet “Dad,” before quickly cutting herself off, mortification making her ears to go hot. She had never felt such brimming affection, and it had overwhelmed her to the point of slipping. “Dante,” she tries again, “I’ve never- I just have to help. You know I love your children, love this pack. But that’s why I have to do something.” She gives up on trying to quell her tears, weeping silently and praying the visiting Ferus wolf would not see. What a fool she had made of herself. “I couldn’t forgive myself if my family got hurt while I sat at home, doing nothing. I just couldn’t.” Jade green eyes gleam wetly as they meet his, sincere in their pleading. “You know I’ll always respect your word, and if you think it’s best I will stay. But please, if any of my brothers - if anyone is hurt trying to deal with these wolves, I ask that you don’t keep me back again.”
She knew that he was General, and could refuse her even this. But she also knew that his desire to protect and care for these wolves, to keep them safe, was as strong (if not stronger) than her own. Surely he was relating to her, even a little bit? Surely he would not ask her to do something that he himself would not? The pale she-wolf falters as Fenrir approaches, attention shifting to him. Who, wait a minute, Dev. We don’t know this guy, he came form the pack that warred with ours before we were born, and you’re just going to beleive him? It’s suicide, and I won’t let you send yourself to get killed like that. Not when dad is already gone and two of our siblings. I won’t stand aside like that. Devika unabashedly bristles, tears finally drying up. She knew her brother meant well, always meant well, but...he won’t let her? The mention of Dad and her lost brothers is only a slap in the face, salt in the wound. What do you think I’m trying to prevent? She wants to scream, but holds her tongue. “If push comes to shove, Fen, I’d like to see you stop me.” She says quietly, eyes burning. She then releases a sigh, fur lying flat again as she delivers a reassuring lick to his cheek. He only wanted the best for them both. “But don’t worry. I’m not going.” With a shuddering exhale, she regains her composure piece by piece, just in time to watch Kai offer herself up. An automatic pang of dislike resonates through the yearling, though she does not show it outwardly. She would never wish harm upon the crippled female, but she would never like her. The very few interactions they had had since the little incident when she was a pup had been brisk and short, with Dev being very pointedly polite. Before exiting the conversation and any other contact with her as quickly as possible. Ventus’s sudden panic sets her on edge again - she had left her new baby sister with Lysic! - but she soon breathes a sigh of relief as Ventus locates her in the den with the rest of the children. Devika squirms a bit, wishing to follow her mother within, mabe introduce herself to the sweet little babe, and - oh! - learn her name. The new bundle of life was such a beacon of light for the bulky female, and she just wanted to curl around her and make sure she felt loved. But, of course, Ventus had that part well in hand - and frankly, what with everyone already within, Dev didn’t have a hope of a chance of squeezing her bulk into that den without squishing a pup or three.

P R I M Lubrusca TAG: @ebony , NOTES: ... Delta
Prim watched in shock as the events unfolded before her, unintentionally holding her breath as it seemed time itself slowed around her. Flint, a wolf from a pack all of Lubrusca hated to their core, coming to rally an army against possibly the biggest threat her pack had ever known, Beta Ebony practically throwing himself to his possible death and all the wolves she had grown with willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. She wanted to help too, to fight for her pack she so loved. But she knew if Ebony went to fight, she would have to stay. Responsibilities came crashing down onto her at once and insecurity wrapped itself around her heart like a snake coiling around its prey. The words he spoke fell on preoccupied ears as Prim watched him move for private counsel with Ventus, only for the alphess to beeline her way towards her pup. Bicolored eyes widened as the realization hit her once more, the wave knocking the wind from her lungs and almost wiping her off her feet, making her surroundings seem to spin. Ebony may not come back. And it would be up to her to take his place as Beta. Slightly misplaced paws brought her towards Ebony, sullen eyes searching for his to fall on her own, maybe she could talk him out of it. Surely she wasn't ready yet? The thought felt like bees buzzing in her brain. "Ebony, we may need you here to help protect the others," Prim sputtered, her heart feeling like it was throbbing in her throat. "I can't do this without you."

As much as he disliked the idea of turning everything around 180 degrees and going down Ferus' trail as far as militarizing the pack, Fenrir knew it was expected even of him to get some training in, and he had no say in the matter. Arguing with the alpha would get him nowhere, and it was extremely disrespectful to question his decisions. So, it seemed he would have to start growing up fast from now on. Things seemed stressful enough with Snow so sickly, but now with added responsibilities on his plate he felt it was overflowing. And didn't Mochi say something about another wolf training under him? That's right, Macha. So not only did he have to look after Snow, he had to keep an eye on her as well. He was dreading this change of scenery. But, being the ever ready-to-please wolf he was, he poked his head back out of Snow's den to search for the young one. She was older than him, of course, but it was almost like she took a bit longer to learn things, like she was still his age. He hoped she wouldn't cause him more trouble or make Snow sicker by gathering the wrong herbs. But then again, she would be learning from what limited knowledge he had, so if she made an error it would very likely be because of his misguidance. Boy, he wished Snow would get better. He couldn't do this. He wasn't ready for this. He didn't know enough to teach someone else! A quiet whimper escaped him before he ducked back into the den and began pacing. He would need to gather her at some point, or she would find him eventually. He couldn't hide from her forever. His duties would always be just outside that den. So, he gathered himself as best he could, then forced himself back out into the world. The others had begun to go back to their normal duties, or moving on to sparring if they had nothing else to do. Fenrir made a beeline for Macha, stopping a few feet in front of her and dipping his head in respect. "Hello, Macha," he greeted slowly, aware of her hearing issues. "I guess you're helping me out now? I don't know a whole lot, Snow Rose didn't get to teach me everything before she got real sick, but I'll do my best." He looked away sheepishly, doubting himself all over again. He wasn't a teacher, that was for sure. He wasn't good at talking, and he didn't even know how to properly teach the differences between certain herbs and how to remember them. He supposed he could try to teach her by smell and sight like he had. Most plants had different leaves or something, but if they do look very similar to something else, the smell usually told him if it was the correct herb or not. This would be a journey for the both of them. He still didn't know why he was tasked with teaching someone older than he instead of the reverse, but fate had plans for him that he couldn't fight against. Omega Macha
