Lillian The female, embarrassed with falling from such a height in front so many wolves looked up at the ones that had all voiced concern. “Yeah I’m just fine, surprisingly this happens quite often. I’m alright nothing hurts but thanks for the concern,” She said her voice sweet and soft, turning to the one who was named Kebechet she grinned and stated “Where do you think i learned to talk like this?” she smirked. Looking around she smiled and the different wolves that had gathered together. “Well i feel introductions are in order. My name is Lillian!” The tan and white wolf stated. She grinned at seeing all the different wolves, the hybrids and the ones with different quirks. She looked over to the one who had introduced themselves as Cori, "Sorry, it's just..um... I have to... make sure that you were... safe?" He said with a nervous tone. Walking over to him she popped his flank with her nose, “sorry if I’m invading your space, but there’s no need to be sorry, it’s who you are. Own it.” she said giving him a bright cheery grin. “I’m Lillian by the way.” She wasn't sure but she liked the male already for some reason. Glancing around she stared at the crashing waves for a few seconds. 'It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this group, I hope it goes well. I don't want a fight on my hands.' She thought in her head as her nose twitched a habit she had developed at a young age.

"Why am I constantly on a state of confusion?"

It seemed like the warm sand-composed landscape the group were located in was starting to be flooded by wolves, and Nooné couldn't be happier. Of course, anxious at the same time, a current theme in his psyque that did not allow the male to enjoy the moment at his fullest. Nevertheless, Cori's smile upon his greeting made his heart warm up a considerable tad, feeling which doubled at Chet's compliments about Spirit's and his name. It wasn't much, but to be completely honest, a compliment thrown his way after such a long time was to be appreciated, if not cherished. Astro, the apparent leader of this group, someone who had welcomed them both, but had remained relatively silent for most of the encounter, stepped up to greet the suspicious looking wolf that had walked up close, also pointing at yet another dark figure playing in the waves. “Hey there! Why don’t you both of you come on over and say hi? Don’t be shy, we’re friendly, I promise!”. Glancing over his oldest companion, Spirit, the Iberian smiled, whispering at her a question, just about quiet enough for nobody to catch exactly what he was saying, but loud enough for the closest ones to clearly hear the noice coming out of his mouth. "What do you think?". The hybrid's warm and friendly attitude seemed to work though. One of the wolves, specifically the one by the gigantic lake, had made her way into their small location, presenting herself as Lexavein, a small individual, yet taller than him, composed of a mixes of grays that went from almost black to almost white, never quite there in both extremes. While this happened, Nooné overheard a conversation behind them. The one who had fallen off the cliff was talking to the rock carrying fellow, Cori. Apparently her name was Lillian, and this kind of incidents were not exactly unusual. Poor girl must have a concussion by now. Taking a breath, and putting concious thought on his words to pull them together, to make sure to not stutter or at the very least to reduce it, the brown male spoke up, to nobody in particular, just a phrase to be responded by anyone who wished to do so. "So, uhm, were you guys going anywhere in particular? The two of us weren't really planning on anything specific".

Astoria listened carefully to the black male as he spoke, he seemed just as light-hearted as Astro was, and it warmed her to know that she was not surrounded by discriminatory wolves. She was instead brought to be around wolves that were just like her, or didn't care what she was, and that was change that Astoria most definitely needed. Listening to what Knox provided in contribution to the conversation, she fretted that maybe her story was just too dark and too dreary for the wolves that were around her. So instead, she would simply give a made up story about her life and go from there. Hopefully they would buy it, or else she was going to be explaining on why she had lied to them. But they were all strangers, why would she feel the need to tell them the truth? Shaking her head inwardly to herself, she perked up as she looked around, alert to the sound of approaching wolves. It was not only them in the territory after all, and it would be foolish to think so. The approaching wolves seemed cautious; a male and female to be exact. The female seemed rather shy, while the male approached with a more relaxed mentality, although he was still stuttering as he asked about him and his friend joining the group. She would not be the one to decide, but instead Kebechet, the new female whom had assumed she’d broken Astro’s tail. As the new male was brought into the group with no hesitation needed, his female friend would possibly follow along, especially if she were with him. And her assumptions were correct when the two of them joined the group. Although, she couldn’t necessarily talk with them, considering Kebechet had gone off on a tale of an experience in her life. Tuning in, she only heard half of the story, wondering what the other half was, but she wouldn’t interject and say that she had not been listening, instead she would simply smile towards the she-wolf and give a small chuckle at her light-hearted mood. She was definitely a talker, and someone who loved telling stories, which wasn’t bad for keeping the conversation going when it came to a smaller group of wolves. Having a social butterfly was always the better part of meeting wolves like her. Just as the newer wolves were going to be asked to introduce themselves, another came stumbling into the mix, offering a curse and then a pleasant change of pace with just a hello. The female seemed embarrassed, so Astoria gave her a small dip of her head, knowing that it could be embarrassing to have the world work against you. Listening to everything around her, Astoria looked to Knox as he mispronounced Kebechet’s name, a giggle coming from Astoria as he embarrassingly pulled himself back together to once more have her repeat how her name was pronounced. It was a hard name to roll off the tongue, and thus would take some getting used too, but Astoria would try her best not to make a fool of herself in front of these wolves. As if three new additions were not enough, it seemed that yet another would come up, this one carrying rocks in his mouth. He tossed them behind him as he greeted them, offering a name and a nickname for him to go by. He would surely be greeted upon the manner that he acted upon. As the group reacted well, she couldn’t help but smile at Kebechet as she spoke of her curse, or whatever she called it. She was definitely a hilarious wolf, and Astoria appreciated that about her. She lifted the heavy mood that would usually set among wolves that were not well acquainted. Astoria’s head was spinning with all the new names however, but she would wait her turn to speak. Not realizing how close she had moved to Astro, she felt her fur brush up against his, making them less than a hair apart. Feeling herself brush up against him, she held back her embarrassment, and slowly came to a standing position, running her tail along his pelt as she pulled forward to the head of the group. “I’m not sure about everyone else, but my head is spinning from all the new names and faces that have just appeared. I haven’t introduced myself to anyone besides a few of you, my name is Astoria. I’m fairly new to this group, but its a pleasure to meet you all,” She stated, pulling backwards once more, just a little further away from Astro to see his reaction to her small, yet flirty gesture. She would wait patiently as Noone would ask where they were going, and she had absolutely no idea where this group was headed, besides to find a bigger area to sleep in. .:: Tags: @astro @knox @kebechet Nooné Spirit @lillian Apprentice Corvidae Aenemys

The new stranger that had approached the group continued to remain silent. The leader of the group, or it seemed to Spirit, spoke first, encouraging the quiet one to introduce herself. For the second time of the day, she heard him introduce himself as “Astro”. As for whether the stranger was just shy or up to something fishy, Spirit had entirely no idea. For a second, she pictured the stranger as the wolf behind the strange disappearance of the shady she-wolf earlier. Maybe it wasn’t Mr Warm Snow Monster after all? While Spirit had her suspicions about the new she-wolf, she kept them to herself. If she were to try kidnapping Nooné and I, she would end up gettin into trouble with the whole group. That was what the half-year-old hoped. Only if the group would look out for them… “Spirit and Noone, huh? Lovely names; at least they’re pronounceable!” Kebechet, or ‘Chet’, grinned welcomingly. Spirit smiled back softly. The group was expanding rapidly, and just when Spirit thought that it had stopped growing, another she-wolf approached them after Astro’s invitation: “Hello…I’m Lexavein!” “Hey there, Lexavein! Nice to meet you!” Spirit exclaimed. Pointing her nuzzle in the direction of each wolf, she began introducing the rest of the group: “That’s Astro… that’s Astoria… That’s Corvidae…That’s Kebechet… That’s Knox…That’s Lillian…That’s Nooné” When she reached the stranger who hadn’t spoke up yet, Spirit said: “And, well, we don’t know her name yet, but we all know that she is nice.”The companion that had always been with her shot her smile, before dropping to a barely audible whisper: "What do you think?" Nooné didn’t seem like he trusted the group entirely yet, and chose to turn to Spirit for her opinion first. Spirit liked how her friend trusted her. “I don’t know,” she breathed back. “They all seem really friendly. I think we would be safe here. I’m just…just a little suspicious about that stranger who hadn’t quite introduced herself yet, but I think she is nice too.” Spirit had to admit it, she was still cautious of the wolf that remained silent throughout. Moving on, the Iberian turned to ask the group on behalf of her: "So, uhm, were you guys going anywhere in particular? The two of us weren't really planning on anything specific”. Nooné’s question seemed like the perfect cover for all the whispering they had been doing, but then again, he wasn’t lying either.

Kebechet sits down as introductions are passed around, tongue lolling from her mouth as a lazy grin stretches across her slender muzzle. It seemed that the steady flow of wolves was ebbing, with the newly named Lexavein bringing up the rear. Even though the rust-coated female was enjoying all the new faces, she can’t help but feel grateful that Spirit took the time to introduce them all; if she had to keep saying her name over and over, even she was going to pronounce it wrong. She snorts, thinking idly, Kebayshit, at your service. Taking a breath, the red wolf takes a second to think on Corvidae’s earlier actions. The male had seemed apologetic, mouthing a sorry her way, but confusion colors her gaze as she wonders why. It must be something specific to his family, like, a culture thing. She thinks to herself, perking up as she happily jumps to the wrong conclusion. Like how my family would always say one positive thing before bed! Yeah, that must be it, She nods firmly to herself. Well, if it was his tradition to roll rocks and tap tails, she might as well make him feel right at home! It sucked to feel like an outsider, after all.
Popping to her paws, she abruptly darts over a sand swell and down to the water, where sand turned to rocks. Eyeing the damp earth critically, she perks up when she sees a small pink-ish rock, rubbed smooth by the sand and waves. That’ll do nicely. The only problem was the tide keeps covering it before receding, which means she was almost certain to get wet. In Winter. Mentally weighing her options - damp fur versus a gift for Cori - she groans and pads closer to the waves. The things I do for friendship, she grumbles mentally. Dropping into a crouch she waits for the waves to recede before, with a mighty battle cry, racing forward. Scooping up the pebble between her jaws, she releases a high-pitched shriek as the returning tide engulfs her paws. Turning tail, she sprints away from the waves, but not before the surf dampens her underbelly. “Shit, shit, shit, so cold” she squeals, dancing in place for a minute before sucking in a deep breath and trying to adopt an expression of dignity. Just barely managing to pad calmly back to the group, stomach drenched, she stoically drops the rock at Corvidae’s feet (willfully ignoring the fact that the group likely could have heard the entire thing). “I noticed that you were messin with some rocks, right, but if you’re going to chew on them it might as well be in style.” She intones gravely, though happiness gleams in her gaze. “I only got one right now but you’re going to be rocking - ha, pun - some serious bling by the time I’m done with you.” Then, she taps his side three times with her tail before plopping down into the sand and shivering.
Chin resting on her paws, she eyes the group as Noone poses an important question: where in the hell are they going? Well, perhaps that’s not exactly how he said it, but she got the gist. Shuddering again as a cool wind rolls off of the waves, she pipes up, “If you guys are leaving the ocean, I’m definitely down for that. Apparently the coast is cold during the Winter? Crazy, that,” she utters, amusement clear in her voice.
@literally everone I love you guys but there isn't a single wolf in this thread who isn't part of this wonderful group If you see a post in the Calming Coastline assume it includes you lmao

Loir wasn't very much in an exploring mood. She didn't really feel like exploring anywhere really except the territories of other packs, since she wanted to join them, but she knew that would possibly be a bad idea. And so, she decided to explore the coastline, a place she couldn't help but actually like. Loir didn't really like coastlines that much, but she guessed exploring this one wouldn't hurt. Why would it? She let out a sigh and looked at the grass, then noticing the water as she stared straight ahead. Catching fish seemed tempting, but currently Loir was a bit skeptical. Fish were hard to catch, the she-wolf knew, but maybe it wouldn't hurt. She headed over to the water and took a deep breath, waiting for any sign of fish. When one would come by, she'd try and catch one.
SPLASH!
Loir noticed something leap out of the water, and her hopes were lifted as she noticed a fish. Quickly, she tried to grab it with her mouth, but failed as the fish landed back in the water. To her dismay, she had not reached far enough, and wasn't really quick enough. Loir let out a small, distressed sigh and looked down, not feeling any hope at all.

Kaira has been a lonely soul during a big part of her young life. And it seemed that wouldn't change as she kept being by herself. As a one-year-old, she should be within a pack or with her family learning anything about surviving. But no, she didn't have those privileges. Firstly, her biological family was killed by an enemy wolf pack, then after leaving the young Kaira alone and suffering for such a start in life. And now her body had a crown of scars of all size, shape, and age. In her face a big one crossed between her eyes, two others in the bridge of her snout. In her body, many laid on her back, both sides and on her legs.
Why would a yealing have soo much violence suffered in her little body? Well, the answer would only be told by her if you get her to speak of course. This day she was wandering about this new place, in search of a so needed meal and a place to sleep. Being a loner all of this months, helped her a lot in terms of learning by her own paws how to survive. Hunting was a learned skill she got while traveling. But of course, it wasn't as good as a professional but was enough for the young wolf to survive with rodents and fish. As she padded, her legs felt tired due to the extended travel she got from the last territory she was. So she decided it was good to rest a couple of minutes. So sits down next to a tree and observes the surroundings.

After the whirlwind that was Kebechet, Cori was left a bit dazed. There were so many wolves around him that had joined the group recently, as he had. The wolf that came just before him, the one that had fallen down a cliff, suddenly approached him, pressing a cold nose into his flank. He scuttled to the side suddenly, his precious rocks trapped underneath his paws skidding away down the beach. Cobalt and onyx eyes widened in panic as his precious stones skidded away from him, but politely he stayed in place so that the grey she-wolf could talk. “Sorry if I’m invading your space, but there’s no need to be sorry, it’s who you are. Own it. I’m Lillian by the way,” the she-wolf's kind words warmed his heart. Usually, wolves pushed him away thinking he was weird or that he was some sort of psycho with his rock chewing and tail tapping and ground scratching. Lillian was one of the first to blatantly stay to his face that it was okay to be him, just plain old snazzy Cori. The angst rushing through his heart was concealed through a small smile, but he was still concerned about the lack of stones under his paws. "Thanks Lillian!" Cori barked, his tail wagging behind him as his eyes scanned the beach for the gravel that had clacked against his teeth before he spat it out. There wasn't exactly any bark around for him to gnaw other than the strip of alder bark between his jaws. “Shit, shit, shit, so cold!” the cusses of Chet drew his attention away from the gathering of his rocks momentarily. He almost couldn't believe his eyes, what on earth could she be doing in the freezing water in winter? Intrigued by the sight, Cori sifted his paws through the sand while he watched Chet bound through the water back up to the group. Once again, she approached him, this time carrying something in her mouth. Something she fished out of the waves perhaps? With a soft 'pffft' in the sand, a pinkish stone came into view. “I noticed that you were messin' with some rocks, right, but if you’re going to chew on them it might as well be in style. I only got one right now but you’re going to be rocking - ha, pun - some serious bling by the time I’m done with you,” the explanation of the rosé stone in the sand warmed his heart. By this point, he was already very nervous about the fact that a, he didn't have something to chew in his mouth, and b, Chet hadn't pulled a fish out of the ocean, but a rock. Maybe he had already spent too much time without a stone in his mouth? Was it already too late for the prey to start flowing? As quickly as he could, he scooped the gift up into his mouth, enjoying the sea smoothed and salty stone against his teeth. As long last, with pain flaring up once again in his mouth, he could relax. Just as he was about to say thanks, her tail patted against his side three times. Cobalt and black eyes looked down at her tail in awe. Did she... was she the same? Did she also need to tap things and gnaw things and dig things? Or maybe not. If she did, she was high functioning. He hadn't seen her put a rock in her mouth before the pink one she just gave to him. "O-Oh! Wow! Thanks, Chet!" Cori finally managed to sputter out as Chet began to move away again. The discussion of where the band would move to was underway with Nooné and Chet, while one of the smallest wolves introduced herself to the group, "I’m not sure about everyone else, but my head is spinning from all the new names and faces that have just appeared. I haven’t introduced myself to anyone besides a few of you, my name is Astoria. I’m fairly new to this group, but its a pleasure to meet you all,” the oddly scented wolf introduced herself, her bright pelt next to Astro's momentarily combining the two into one tangerine entity. Rolling his tongue in his mouth, Corvidae clacked the pink stone against his teeth, wincing slightly as he did so. Chewing on the alder bark between his teeth to numb them for a while, inquisitive eyes turned towards the deciding party on where they would go and what they would do, his heart already warmed by Chet's actions and his mind already wanting to know what else the merry band would get up to. @astro @knox @kebechet Nooné @lillian Spirit Aenemys Astoria @lexavein

ROGUE KNOX
Knox for a moment was disgusted by the rocks that fell from the she-wolf’s mouth. “Pleasure,” he commented gruffly, trying not to look too repulsed. Mouth stuff was always nasty to Knox. Soon enough though, more wolves should up to distract him from the nasty display.
Knox dipped his head to all the new arrivals, letting Chet and Astro do the talking for the most part. He guessed story time would be over for the time being. Although, he felt a little claustrophobic and shyer with all the new faces, some literally dropping in. Standing, he moved away to take a deep breath.
Knox removed himself from the main group and stood off to the side, mostly gravitating towards Astro. He didn’t interact with the same wolf, instead moving towards the ones named Noone and Spirit.
“How long have you known each other?” Knox asked kindly, looking between the two of them with a friendly smile.

The female hybrid would introduce herself, stating that her name was Astoria. While Nooné got to actually hear the name, he was more focused on his conversation with Spirit. “I don’t know, they all seem really friendly. I think we would be safe here. I’m just…just a little suspicious about that stranger who hadn’t quite introduced herself yet, but I think she is nice too.”Glancing over the female that his partner was referring to, the male could understand her point. "Yeah, go figure what she's up to. We outnumber her though, don't think she'll really try anything bad". As long as there wasn't a pack to back her up, that is. But he decided to keep that thought to himself. No need to build up tension or make Spirit nervous. So far, only Kebechet had answered his question. “If you guys are leaving the ocean, I’m definitely down for that. Apparently the coast is cold during the Winter? Crazy, that”. Where could they go though? Sure, there are tons of choices, but the Iberian didn't know any of those. Hell, he wouldn't know how to get back here if one would put him back at the Muddy Pines. Though, the question was still in the air, one of the Hybrids spoke to him. Well, to his partner Spirit and him. “How long have you known each other?”. Simple and blunt question, but it made him realize. I haven't known her for that long, now that I really think of it."Not m-much. We met up a couple of hours bef-fore meeting you guys". The recent memories of the shadow lady and Alexis came back, making Nooné make a pause. "W-well, it wasn't always just us two. We used to b-be four. The other two just, dissapeared for some reason. One left, we saw her, but the other one, like, Spirit says it could have been a warm-sand monster!" Spirit @knox @kebechet @prettymucheveryoneatthecoastline

"I’m not sure about everyone else, but my head is spinning from all the new names and faces that have just appeared. I haven’t introduced myself to anyone besides a few of you, my name is Astoria. I’m fairly new to this group, but its a pleasure to meet you all.” The new he-wolf introduced himself. Wagging her tail excitedly, Spirit raced up to meet the stranger, "Hi, my name's Spirit! Nice to meet you!" Instead of introducing the rest of the members in the group, she waited for them to greet the Astoria-fella.
A question for the two was tossed in their direction. Spirit's longest companion opened his mouth and spoke first, "Not m-much. We met up a couple of hours bef-fore meeting you guys" She was instantly stung by the memory of herself telling her painful life-story, but instead of breaking down again and wetting herself like a pup, she simply brushed it aside. "W-well, it wasn't always just us two. We used to b-be four. The other two just, dissapeared for some reason. One left, we saw her, but the other one, like, Spirit says it could have been a warm-sand monster!" Mr Warm Snow Monster!Spirit gave a little jump in fright, her eyes widened with horror at the mention of the word.
"I don't want to get eaten up by Mr Warm Snow Monster!" the half year old she wolf whined. She gazed around frantically, in case a terrifying creature suddenly pops out from the unknown orangish matter. Returning her gaze to her new-found friends, she stared, expecting some sort of worried expression to spread across their faces.

Large paws brought the female closer to the edge of the coastline, yellow pigmented eyes watching the waves lap sweetly at the sanded bank before her. Sand forming around her feet as she walked along, her nostrils flared taking in the relaxing scent of the salt water before her. Various shells littered around the area before her, along with an occasional fish here and there; all in all, the inhabitants of the land were rather skilled at keeping the place tidied up. Baelfire's ears now rotated forwards as a loud crashing sound immolated ahead of her, gathering the information from the setting around her she knew it was close to a bluff. Her steps now increased in speed as she headed away from the coastline in order to scale the hill before her, she wanted to watch the waves from the top of the cliff. The bellowing sea breeze now blew the Mexican wolf's coat into her line of vision, snorting in a bit of frustration Bael now continued forwards as much as she could. Before stepping dangerously close to the edge, she soon reclined to her haunches, eyes watching in a serene manner. She enjoyed the solitude that these lands had presented her, the quiet was nice. It was a calm, serene, silent land. She couldn't picture a better place to let herself relax.

With the saltiness of the sea rock in his mouth, Cori's gleaming onyx and azure eyes looked between the wolves around him. A darker male, a hybrid it seemed, asked the pair of wolves that had arrived together how long they had known one another. Their names were Nooné and Spirit as Cori could best remember; there were so many names in the group! Stumbling onto the beach had allowed him to gain a whole new family, two of which he knew well enough to call them good friends. "Not m-much. We met up a couple of hours bef-fore meeting you guys. W-well, it wasn't always just us two. We used to b-be four. The other two just... disappeared for some reason. One left, we saw her, but the other one, like, Spirit says it could have been a warm-snow monster!" Nooné explained how he had stumbled upon the group. While his young companion Spirit seemed afraid of this 'warm snow monster,' Cori rolled the term around in his mind as he rolled Chet's stone around in his mouth. What could this mean? Maybe the younglings hadn't encountered sand yet? Striding over to the subgroup of wolves, Cori had to take a small detour to tap a large chunk of driftwood with his tail his signature 3 times. It might slide down the beach and knock someone out, and they could drown in the sea. That would just be horrible! The cloudy male didn't want anyone in his new group of friends getting hurt, let alone so quickly. Once he determined that the washed up log was indeed safe, the joyous male galloped back over to the wolves. Pushing his newly treasured stone and the flap of bark he carried to the side of his mouth, Cori piped up, "This 'warm snow monster' you speak of, it sounds a lot like sand. Were you thinking of the stuff all over the beach here?" With a friendly wag of his tail and happiness sparkling behind his duo-coloured eyes, Cori hoped that he had interpreted the situation correctly. To watch the two seemingly younger wolves either learn or remember a word would be amazing Nooné Spirit @knox @astro @kebechet @lillian Aenemys Astoria @lexavein

Kairne plodded along, his large black paws pressing gently into the sands underneath him as the his pale yellow eyes scanned a few yards ahead. He was tired after traveling for so long now. The signs of an early winter surrounded him, and the beach was always an odd place during such a season. The world was grey, and the briny scent of the sea was everywhere. With it came distant smells of the local wildlife, which included some crabs, a few fish swimming close to shore, what little of the bird population was still hanging around, and, far away, some wolves. Kairne's eyes did not lift up higher to search for company or for danger in the cliffs and barren sand around him. He only trudged along further, searching for a decent place for him to lay his gigantic dark frame down. He could feel the ache in his muscles as they moved, and by now the loneliness had finally eaten away at his drive to continue. Ahead he glanced up to find a spot away from the water where a few rocks would shield him from the chill of the sea winds, a well earned resting place for now. His steps became more dutiful as his large head swung back and forth with exhaustion. If any of these nearby wolves would object, he was beyond caring. He was large enough to be imposing, and even so, at this point he had nothing to lose. He had left his family, sparing his brother but losing a chance at mating or having pups of his own. He was alone now. As he lowered his body rather unceremoniously onto the cold, damp sand, he let out a large sigh. He was too fatigued to dig to the warmer sands below, he just wanted to rest now. He felt as his eyelids slipped closed, and he allowed the sounds of the waves and the smell of the sea and the scuttling crabs relax him. A grumbling in his stomach roused him though, but was not too strong to be past ignoring. He had ignored his growing hunger for a while now, a decision he'd made back when he first left. He was reluctant, but something within him was eager, excited even. He was foolish, expecting to find a she-wolf and begin a family soon after leaving his father's territory. Why wouldn't he expect such? He and his brothers had run off more than a few rogue males looking to romance their sisters or mother, and the she-wolf had found them before he left. Surely there were rogue wolves around? But now he understood why they had been required to chase off so many males, and he felt inside that he'd end up just as conniving and desperate for female attention himself if he could find anyone. Maybe it was for the best he just lay down. No matter his tired trying, he couldn't turn his head off, as he kept smelling them. There were wolves nearby, and quite a few. He couldn't tell how far, but he could tell there were a good handful of females. He didn't move his weary body, but his heart quickened slightly. Maybe that loneliness would end soon. He had been so close to finding a mate, and he found himself craving to find a she-wolf to love, no matter how alone and pathetic that thought made him feel. He also ached for a companion of any kind, a friend to hunt with and to talk to. He missed his younger brother's kind eyes and funny manner, and regretted his decision to leave. He left simply because he didn't want to fall in rank. He'd figured a new start would allow him a chance at being an alpha sooner, instead of falling to delta after conceding to his brother. What it had actually gotten him was this. A cold nap on an empty beach. He let his eyes drift closed, pushing the thoughts out of his mind. He'd wake and set out again soon. A few crabs in his belly for breakfast wouldn't hurt, though.

ROGUE KNOX
Knox listened intently as the older of the two answer him first. "Not mu-much. We met up a couple of hours bef-before meeting you guys - W-well, it wasn't always just us two. We used to b-be four. The other two just, disappeared for some reason. One left, we saw her, but the other one, like, Spirit says it could have been a warm-snow monster!" The stuttering was unexpected, as Knox wasn’t accustomed to those with speech impediments but he remained patient while the male finished talking.
“I don't want to get eaten up by Mr Warm Snow Monster!" The young she-wolf’s outburst spooked Knox a little, jerking in surprise he turned to her questioning. Snow monster? Knox cocked his head to the side until another wolf approached the smaller group. The one who approached though was the rock eater and Knox tried his best to remain friendly.
“This 'warm snow monster' you speak of, it sounds a lot like sand. Were you thinking of the stuff all over the beach here?" That did seem plausible to Knox, as this would be the only explanation for what sounded like a ridiculous monster. Although the sand wasn’t warm, like they were describing it. But then again, winter was here so that would change the way the grains felt underneath one’s paws.
At least the rock eater was intelligent, even if he did have a nasty and disgusting habit. Which did peak Knox’s interest in the other, how did he come to chew on rocks?
Knox would let his thoughts slip into reality as he questioned the new arrival. “What caused you to start chewing on rocks? Don’t they taste… displeasing?”
