"Hello, Wingnut...May I join you?" the voice of Karini coming up beside the alert Beta didn't cause her focus to shift from the scents around her. The yearling seemed to have been neglected from her promised training in the time passed due to the setting up of proper dens and an actual pack, no matter how reluctant Rowan had been to the idea of accepting the true Alpha role. With a curt nod, the cinnamon she-wolf would have allowed Karini to stay beside her and help scout out for this wolf that 'hadn't left' the pregnant wolf currently cowering. "What's going on? Who are they?" the youthful curiosity must have infused into her from Tadase, once Mint but teens would do as they pleased. "Possible threat, unnamed still," the Beta female answered back robotically, amber eyes looking through the brushlands to find the wolf that was following. The threat mentioned by the pregnant she-wolf sounded desperate and immediate, an assault could occur at any moment. "Karini, move back," Hye-Su's voice coaxed gently, but the knowledgeable Beta predicted that it wouldn't be taken as so. Over the past few months, Wingnut had picked up on the personalities of those around her. Hye-Su was an intelligent, inquisitive yearling that was already partially training in hunting and fighting. Her exterior was much tougher, in the word of another, she had a thicker skin. Karini, on the other paw, was still a practical child. She was curious, which was good, but seemed to lack many social skills and knowledge of hunting of battle tactics. She was fragile, often requiring validation and praise repeatedly simple to assure her. Wingnut was simply a wolf who quickly bored of sustaining the much more vulnerable yearling's mental state, especially when there were more important matters to get to. Rowan and Raisa especially seemed to be able to help Karini much more. The ebony yearling's comment to move back had been about to come from Wingnut's mouth, but the softer tone that another could provide likely worked better. As sonar dish ears caught Karini's voice asking the pregnant she-wolf questions as she had done to herself her tail tip flicked. This stranger was distressed, the time for questions would come once any possible threat was eliminated. Thankfully, the voice of what seemed to be Simon, another one of the adoptees into Rowan's growing hoard of pups, quickly collected Karini and whisked her off for an adventure. For a pup, only a third of her age, to be leading her off could have been an entertaining idea for most any other wolf. Wingnut was not subject to trivial matters like comedy, especially when in the middle of a job. Though the safety of the pair of young wolves was likely still being kept under the watchful eye of Raisa, Wingnut moved an ear in their direction to make sure they stayed close enough. With a possible threat hidden away, Simon and Karini would be easy pickings. For the past few minutes, the wind had blown into Wingnut's nose from many different directions, the temperamental season's winds throwing scents left and right easily. However, no foreign scent other than the slightly milky one of the female's could be found by the she-wolf. Either this threat had moved away, or was extremely skilled at hiding their scent and location. "Someone... there... tell someone... do ourselves?" the broken voice of Simon was carried on turbulent winds into her ears. Perhaps the threat had moved around to the edge of the pack, hoping to catch everyone off guard. "Hye-su, continue to watch this area for any signs of a possible threat to this stranger or the pack's safety," Wingnut barked out as she whipped around towards the tree line, knowing that the studious yearling was likely still close by. Breaking into a gallop, Wingnut's emotionless face scanned the tree line for two brown-black blotches that would allow her to scent the area for this 'someone.' Coming to a lope before slowing to a stop beside the pair, Wingnut quietly, but still monotonously, spoke a, "Good work you two." Even if they hadn't meant to, allowing Wingnut to neutralize the nearby wolf was beneficial to the pack. Flexing ebony nasals to the wind, the potent scent of a rogue male invaded her senses instantly. Leaving the two young wolves behind to observe if they pleased, Wingnut set her tail high and her ears forwards. This male was guilty until proven innocent by possibly the most analytical wolf in the brush lands. "You!" a loud bark called to the male giving no hint of the suspicion behind it. As she broke through the trees, amber eyes absorbed the sight before her. A creamy, off-white male, nearly the same size as her but likely heavier stood before her. He was not very far off from the commons, less than a hundred meters, and could likely see everything that had gone on. He could easily be the threat that the pregnant she-wolf feared so desperately. "In the recent past have you threatened or attacked any wolves within or around these borders?" Her volume was still slightly above normal, her version of an interrogation was her flat tone just louder. Amber eyes locked with gilded optics, silently daring the male to confirm her suspicions. His pelt had no traces of blood on it, but then again neither did the strangers upon first glance. He also had the scent of only himself, but verbal abuse was still very possible. The scent of the male could have triggered the reaction in the female, so until he proved his innocence beyond a reasonable doubt, Wingnut would continue to prevent his entry or any movements closer to not only the pregnant she-wolf but towards the pup laden pack as well. Her siblings had thankfully risen with the same poignant sense of urgency. Or more, two of them had. Kendrix, Midori, and Rose all still lay entirely lost within dream worlds, deaf to Momma’s tender decree. How, Lacey had no idea. This was adventure, the journey beyond their den they’d desperately craved, and somehow, half of her siblings had failed to summon the energy to enjoy it! This simply wouldn’t do. Hadn’t Kendrix and Midori been plotting this potential, entirely theoretical future journey for days? They’d be so angry if they discovered they’d been left out of the fun. No, she just had to wake them. Soren had already helped with a nip and his personal favorite tease for the pudgiest pup of the litter. Lacey stifled a giggle, tucking her treacherous grin under a plush forepaw, anticipating his angered yips. If that didn’t send Kendrix soaring after him, nothing would. Poor Soren had made a magnificent error. However, given how Soren instantly flocked back for warmth, it seemed their brawl had been delayed. She chuckled softly, darting between her mother’s legs to give her shivering brother a kiss on the cheek. “C’mon Soren,” she quipped, shivering in excitement. “You gotta help me wake up all the others! Sleepyheads,” She giggled softly, eyeing Midori mischievously. “And you too Ash!” She chirped sweetly, swooping in to bop his nose with her own.
Playfully, she pushed herself lower to the floor, wiggling around just a bit the way that Momma did when she wanted to be sneaky. Then, she charged, tackling her tomboy-ish sister with a wriggling yip. “Wake up Dori!” She giggled, batting her sister’s hind gently. “We’re all gonna go on an adventure! Buuut if you don’t wake up,” She teased, comically drawing out each word. “We’ll leave without you!”

" Fuck." Her ears flattened against her skull like paper as she made a physical effort to un-hear Simon's voice. He certainly snuck up on her while she had been sure she was in the clear of any surprises by the security of her protectors; yet, something about him necessitated her forward stride towards him. Joy wasn't a milksop like Karini but wasn't an agitator either. Through trying to figure out who she was, she found herself attaching to different personalities. First it was Dusty, the playful one that introduced Joy to spirit. Next it was Raisa, who illuminated ideas of womanhood, elegance and dignity. Now she was finding herself feeling the most regretful urges towards Simon, the rebellious young boy who said " fuck." Or maybe she was just becoming a teenager. Joy had almost forgotten what was going on, though she hadn't really a clue what was happening in the first place. A pregnant Raisa, a pregnant lunatic, an interrogative Wing- Wait, where's Simon? She glanced left to right with an unrelenting stare, beside herself with restiveness for such an adult situation. Affairs didn't yet matter to her. She wasn't work-driven like Hye-Su, or anything-driven really--not yet. I'm getting there, she mused. She spotted the boy with Karini. What she saw only made her head spin even more. No young girl could resist a bad boy with a good heart, and she hated that fact. She followed him anyways, regardless of what she knew was good for her. She'd never been an expert at communication. Her best option would have been to turn around before she was caught following him and Karini around like a maniac if the rogue hadn't showed up. A war raged in her head, one she certainly could not win no matter which side she chose. She didn't care that there was a potential threat standing right in front of her and her packmates; Wingnut had arrived, which meant that Simon would turn around. Fuck.

Alas, it seemed someone had caught on to Helios' presence. Not that he cared, really, as although interaction was a thorn in his side he did not care for these wolves knowing he was here. It was only to be expected when he lingered on the edge of their lands like some sort of cat that lingered at its post, watching everything go on with an attentive eye. As he had no harmful intention towards the habitués of this place, he figured he had nothing to hide, although that could be part of his remiss attitude. In fact, it seemed the wolf who had caught on to his presence was a pup, a youngster or teenager. A quick sniff of the air simply informed of many young wolves, more than adults, perhaps. How interesting it was that such a large rogue group be filled with mostly young wolves, as though they were easy to train they were also more vulnerable. And even more interesting was their settling place, these dusty brush lands that practically made Helios crave a good forest with abundant water sources and green foliage after being here too long. Though he himself was not picky as to landscape, he wondered if these lands were really the best to support this group.
The young dark wolf whose glance had landed on Helios called to some seemingly regnant wolf, alerting them of his presence. On cue, a commanding she-wolf broke through the dried trees before him (the one who had been talking to the crazy, pregnant female).
"You!" she calls, and Helios raises his eyebrows almost, but not quite, mockingly, curious as to what she would say. "In the recent past have you threatened or attacked any wolves within or around these borders?" Helios gives a small scoff. He admires her care. Upon first meeting, Helios can tell she was a very take-charge wolf, devoted to this group she was in and good at her job. He appreciated an attitude like that.
"I have not," he says in his typical, gruff tone. "Hard as it may be to believe, I have no foul intentions." The male's tone is slightly sarcastic and blunt but honest, his less-than-friendly, grumpy sort of disposition not allowing for anything more friendly than this. Kindness simply wasn't his outward attitude upon first meeting. No, he was not the typical friendly rogue wishing for company, he was a wolf who found that company tended to hurt him more than soothe his soul, and thus sprouted the prickly temperament to defend himself from these strangers and feelings. It was never anything personal, just how he had grown into life.

Blankly, amber eyes stared at the male before, hackles not bristled, not even raised, but an aura of dominance radiating away from the female. She had adopted the standard 'Beta' stance, with tail raised and ears pushed more forwards than most other's, but no other form of aggression leaked out of her. Teeth lay behind lips with the exception of speaking, dense fur remained close to her body. "I have not, hard as it may be to believe, I have no foul intentions,"a defensive slathering of sarcasm laced a proclamation of innocence. Naturally, Wingnut analysed the statement. She hadn't scented anyone else on him when he had approached, and he had also approached from mostly upwind, carrying his scent from where he was up through the camp. If someone were following the pregnant she-wolf then their scent would have been carried away from the camp by the temperamental season's winds. Wingnut only blinked at the male before flicking an ear back towards the common grounds. In the best case scenario, it would be Rowan deciding on what to do with this self-proclaimed innocent male after he sorted out something with the pregnant stranger. However, there was another matter at hand. Moving her volume back to a normal level for conversation, Wingnut questioned once more, "Do you have any intention of joining this pack or did you just happen to stumble upon us?" Establishing the male's intentions before Rowan came, if he did at all, would serve well to determine the best route of action for the logical Beta female to take. @helios Alpha Rowan @karini @simonn @joy

Jun stepped tenderly into the area, knowing immediately there was a large group of wolves here. The old man stepped into the brush lands and into a clearing, his amber eyes met with the sight of what seemed to be a pack of wolves. His skin crawled at the sight, but he saw pups with them, and though he wouldn't admit it, his heart went out to the young ones. The slim dark brute kept to the edges of the clearing, close to the treeline, in case he was attacked or chased.
He shook his head. A wolf his age shouldn't need to think about running away or fighting anymore. In a pack, he would be getting ready to retire from his position. In his old pack, he would be stepping down from being the alpha soon, but of course if he were still the alpha of that pack he would have never easily given up his title. But things were very different now. Jun was no longer leading a pack, not that he deserved to. It was his fault so many wolves died at the hands of humans two years ago. For that reason, he left his homeland to be alone. But being alone only helped him accept himself for what he was: a monster. It didn't redeem him for the things he'd done.
Maybe that was why he had started moving again, towards the scent of wolves instead of away from it. A part of him wanted to repent by teaching the younger generation peace first, or at least to teach them to think before they go off and cause trouble. He wanted to be a Guardian, but how could he even ask for a place in a pack again? None of these wolves had any idea of what he did so long ago, but there was no doubt they would see the scars littering his legs, sides, his chest, his muzzle, and they would know he was a part of some great violence. Besides, he had thrown away his given name a long time ago to use the name his victims had called him by; Junichiro, or "He Who Takes." Jun wanted to wear his sins on his sleeve as some form of atonement. He didn't want to hide his transgressions, he wanted everyone to see him for what he was and decide how they felt about him themselves.
The grumpy-faced male lay down calmly by a thicket of bushes, his bones creaking with the movement and a heavy sigh escaping his lips.

Midori was peacefully sleeping, not letting the outside world disturb her at all as she was curled in a nice little ball, dreaming happily of catching small mice. However, it didn't seem like that would last for long, as her sister started to bother her into being awake. Shifting and letting out a small huff, she tried falling asleep once more, but her sister's nagging eventually got to her, and she awoke with a sour expression on her face. The one-eyed pup was much too bitter for her age, but she liked her sleep, and she didn't like being threatened. Even if she knew that her mother wouldn't leave her behind, the fear lingered in the back of her head, as she knew that a pup alone meant certain death. Wacking Lacey with her tail as she walked past, she approached her mother, looking at her with a small scowl on her face. "Why are we up so early?"

APPRENTICE HYE-SU OF SORELUS
Hye-Su flicked an ear towards Karini who seemd to not understand what was happening and took her orders in a sour tone. Flicking a tail Hye-Su disregarded the defensive feeling bubbling in her chest. She was only trying to be kind to the other she-wolf but Karini didn’t seem to think so. Staying focused on the situation she noted that this stranger seemed to go quiet and still, whimpers hear and there but nothing extreme like before.
"Hye-su, continue to watch this area for any signs of a possible threat to this stranger or the pack's safety," Hye-su nodded to Wingnuts orders, stepping into her place as she moved away. For a moment she watched the Beta move away, following a new directive. While Hye-Su stood watch, the stranger still refused to acknowledge their presence.
In time though another wolf moved near by. Eyes immediately moved towards the male hiding beyond the treeline. Plum eyes narrowed as she noted that this wolf appeared much older than most and seemed far too relaxed to be around such a large group. His movement to lay down had her moving forward in his direction. Hye-Su kept her body in a side-ways position so she could keep watch on the pregnant she-wolf while she addressed the new stranger.
“State your name and business being on our land,” Hye-Su spoke up, tail raised behind her back. Her voice was steady and although the words could be taken as cold, her voice held an extremely neautral tone.

It wasn't long before the pack took notice of his presence, one young wolf looking directly at him and focusing, soon approaching him. She must be on guard duty. No matter, he preferred to deal with a younger, more impressionable mind than a hormone-raging wolf in their prime, only caring about making a name for themselves instead of thinking things through. The she-wolf came to s atop a good distance from him, close enough to stop him if he decided to go for the pack but far enough in case he decided to lunge at her. He could tell she was confused as to why he seemed so comfortable being around such a large group of strangers, but he was too old to be on his feet all the time. He couldn't afford to cause strife anymore, not that he desired to. His ears swiveled towards her as she spoke, reading her body language to know she meant business and was trying to seem as intimidating as possible. He turned his amber eyes to her, but didn't bother to get up. "My name is Junichiro," he grunted, his voice rough and leathery, with a faint air of an islander accent, "I'm just an old man taking a break, I've been walking for ages. I have no interest in harming the pregnant wolf, or anyone else, as long as you don't attack me first." Although his face read a permanent form of disdain and grumpiness his voice was calm and neutral, not friendly but not aggressive.

Before he and Karini could do anything regarding the new wolf, Wingnut sweeps onto the scene, delivering brisk praise and barking out questions with nary a hackle raising. Simon’s eyes shine at the brief compliment, amber lightening to honey-gold as a pleased smile curves his lips. Most of the pack was decent, don’t get him wrong - decently annoying, but good people all the same - but Wingnut. Wingnut was blunt, and efficient, and confident; everything a wolf should be. If he turned out to be half the wolf she was, he knew he’d be a force to be reckoned with. However, as he turns to face the chocolate-pelted lupess, he notices a paler figure out of the corner of his eye. It is with this soft expression still in place that he faces Joy fully, though his features soon return to neutral (if not slightly irked) indifference. Silence settles, thick and awkward, and if she wasn’t planning on saying anything he certainly wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to learn from the beta for this. Though perhaps...and his expression grows thoughtful at this...she had just followed Wingnut here in order to observe as well. He could hardly fault her for that. “Well, come on then,” he utters with a put-upon air about him. “You’re not going to hear jack shit from all the way over there.”
Joy had never been a prominent figure among these wolves. His distinct discomfort around the motherly Raisa meant that he interacted very little with the blonde, since the young femme seemed to be attached to her at the hip. She was often too quiet to hold his attention for long anyhow. Gaze shifting back to the confrontation. This new male was blunt and less than friendly, voice thick with sarcasm. In fact, he was similar to Simon himself in general mannerism.
Of course, Simon dislikes him on principle.
“If he ‘stumbled’ this close to us then he’s an idiot.” Pearly whites bare in a grin with a tad too much teeth. “Or at least, he broke his nose somewhere between birth and now.” He knew that their combined scent practically radiated out of this portion of the woods by now, so the question was: why did someone seemingly so adverse to company venture so damn close? It’s not as though he were being rescued, as was the case with Simon and Azrath.

Karini was weak 'at this moment' because of the lack of self-defense tactics. But just because of not having a correct guidance on this subject. But if she doesn't get trained this could probably change somehow. Brown legs carried her body following Simon. "Good job you two" Those words confused the young wolf, as she wasn't sure what they did for receiving such words from Wingnut who even if she didn't want, was a model to follow for her. They way she was a tough wolf and so fierce made her wanting to be the same. She was aware of her own ways of solving things. She wanted to be strong as iron, to be fierce as a cougar and to prove the pack she wasn't a weakling. This promise was also to her dead family. The day she went left without family, she promised them to become stronger. And she hopped in this pack she would. But then she saw a wolf approaching. It probably was the danger she and Simon had discovered. Looks at the younger wolf. "What should we do while the adults neutralize the threat?" She asked with her childish voice.

"Do you have any intention of joining this pack or did you just happen to stumble upon us?" the authoritative female asks. Helios had been about to answer when his vision again catches onto the pup who had detected him, who now approached closer, seemingly with a female friend.
"If he 'stumbled' this close to us then he's an idiot. Or at least, he broke his nose somewhere between birth and now." says the pup, a voice poking at the edge of Helios' hearing, his teeth flashed in a display of what was that, hostility? How sad. Helios would have respect for the female who maintained a professional attitude, but not for this pup who wanted a piece of the action and came in all snarky. He simply raises his brows unimpressed at this one's attitude, and turns his head back to the female, ignoring that little burr at the edge of his vision. There were many pet peeves Helios harbored, but one of the larger ones were wolves whose positions did not give them any excuse for their attitude. In his mind, it was much easier to ignore them.
"I've been wandering these lands for quite a while now, but never had I scented a group so large in rogue lands," Helios answers simply. "I was drawn in by curiosity of this activity, not by any foul intentions." Curiosity killed the cat, but never the wolf, he remarks in his head. The male rolls his shoulders a bit which had gone slightly stiff from inactivity, releasing a couple of cracks from their thickly-muscled crevices. "With the boredom these monotonous brush lands bring me I suppose I cannot help but let my curiosity drag me away these days."
The male wondered what was to become of him now. Were he to be sent on his way, reasonably so? This pack, group, band, whatever it may be, was full of pups (which Helios secretly wish he had a couple of companions of this category, as he strangely loved pups) and young wolves, which may provoke worry from the adults that a stranger approached their border. The ratio of young ones to old ones certainly did, however, cause Helios to wonder about the efficiency of this group. If they had many more mouths to feed than many more bodies to hunt, was this an inconvenience for them? Then again, they would grow to be assets, with the correct training and such. Well, it was not Helios' place for his curiosity to prod questions in his mind about the stability of this pack. Either he may interact with them some more or be sent on his way, and thus the information was of no use to him anyways.

Beta WingnutIf I Don't Understand, You are the one at fault Blank amber eyes watched the cream male as he pondered over an answer to her inquiry. Behind her, the voice of the pup, Simon, separated her focus. "If he 'stumbled' this close to us then he's an idiot. Or at least, he broke his nose somewhere between birth and now," the darker pup's attitude wasn't disappointing, but more of an irritant to the Beta. It was near impossible not to notice the shadow following her, the body language shifts that the young male had whenever she simply seemed to exist around him. Whether he was infatuated with her or just approved of her natural blunt stance, he seemed to not know how to earn her limited approval. He was a fanboy but seemed not to do anything to actually improve himself. Instead, his comment took the focus away from the vital task at hand that needed to be completed.
"I've been wandering these lands for quite a while now, but never had I scented a group so large in rogue lands. I was drawn in by curiosity of this activity, not by any foul intentions. With the boredom, these monotonous brush lands bring me I suppose I cannot help but let my curiosity drag me away these days," the male spoke, curiosity seemingly being his main purpose for approaching the group. This did not leave out the possibility of an attack from the male, but it seemed that the pale form was just curious. He seemed not to be the wolf that the shaking pregnant she-wolf was terrified of, so bringing him to Rowan would cause little threat to her safety.
"If you want to meet with my Alpha and discuss joining this pack then I suggest you follow and do not touch anything or talk to anyone uneccessarily. Yes you may touch the air, ground, and everything you automatically touch," The Beta added in before the male could pipe up with the sarcasm Wingnut detected earlier. It was also to deter some sort of sarcasticresponse from Simon, who she was sure would have leaped on the opportunity to berate the male at least, less likely her. "If you have no intention of attempting to join this pack, then leave this area and do not disrupt us again."
Waiting a few seconds to see whether or not the male would move away, Wingnut turned back to the commons and begna to move back.to the commons. With or without the still anonymous male, the cinnamon she-wolf padded past the pair of young wolves that discovered the male. "Simon, Karini, head back to the commons first," the Beta instructed the two younger pups, making sure to limit the male's ability to attack anyone that they could encounter. Following the two dark younglings back to the commons, Wingnut approached Rowan, who was likely still dealing with the pregnant she-wolf that had sparked this entire conversation.
*"Rowan, this male was at the opposite borders and seems not to be the threat that the pregnant she-wolf is afraid of," she woudl explain if the male had followed her back to the commons.
*"Rowan, a male was found on at the opposite borders but has been dealt with. He did not want to attempt to join the pack, and seemed not to be the threat that the she-wolf spoke of," Wingnut would tell the Alpha if the alabaster male had left the territory.

APPRENTICE HYE-SU OF SORELUS
”My name is Junichiro - I'm just an old man taking a break, I've been walking for ages. I have no interest in harming the pregnant wolf, or anyone else, as long as you don't attack me first." Hye-Su narrowed her eyes ever so slightly at the male’s nonchalant attitude. A black tail flickered behind her before lowering to a more relaxed state. His words seemed genuine enough but could the pack take on a male that was more of an elder than a functioning pack member.
Letting the silence ingulf the two as she thought, she heard the faint sound of Wingnuts voice and what would be Rowan’s as well. The only two who could properly decide this male’s fate was indeed those two. However, before she would bring this old man back to them she would need to gather information.
“Pleasure to meet you, Junichiro,” Hye-su finally answered, her voice pleasant on the ears. “My name is Dang Hye-su, but please call me Hye-su,” with formalities aside her voice once again turned neutral. “We are pack Sorelus, if you are interested in joining what is it that you have to offer? If you have no interest, then I must ask you to leave our borders.”

The young wolf seemed skeptical of his words at first, but he was unmoving, unnerved, and eventually the tail that flicked behind her slowed down to a stop. She was quiet for a long moment, his own ears flicking towards the voices of other wolves briefly before relaxing once more. When she finally answered, she gave her name courteously, her voice more pleasant than the warning tone it had before.
There it was. The demand to know what he was worth, what he could provide if he was going to be hanging around the pack, and to leave if he had no interest. It seemed he needed to make a choice now rather than later. He gave a long sigh and stretched his muscles, popping a few joints as he did. There were quite a bit of young ones in this pack who needed proper guidance, and if he didn't do it, then who would be able to teach them properly from experience? He begrudgingly put the responsibility upon himself, appearing as if it was the last thing he wanted even though deep down it was what he needed to feel as if he was repaying his debt to those he had killed so long ago.
Finally he spoke. "Well, I can still hunt, but I am not as good as I once was, obviously. I am no longer a warrior. This pack of yours does have quite a few young ones, though. I would be willing to teach them and watch over them as they grow. I am still spry for my age, I promise you."
