Determination burned within Azrath as each time he made for an attack, he was batted aside as if he were small like a pebble. He jumped to his paws, shaking the dirt from his pelt before settling once more in his battle stance. He was sweet, willing to please, but the pup also definitely had a competitive side to him as well. It was one he kept hidden for the most part, it made for an ugly personality in Azrath’s mind. When he went to attack once more, he was stopped in his tracks after Rowan made his way out from his counsel with Raisa, this time to announce they were moving to a better area. Excitement bubbled within him as he looked to Junichiro who told him to visit any sentimental place before they departed. Azrath smiled. He and Simon had not been here too long for him to get attached to a place he believed would be temporary anyway, aside from his sleeping place, where he felt safe. As simon came up to him, clamping his ear within his jaws and tugging lightly, Azrath let out a playful growl, snapping playfully at his brother’s face. ”It’s about time we got out of here,” Simon barked, he agreed, muttering a small “Right,” with a laugh. He thought about what their new territory would be like, how his den might be and how he and Simon would be training in a new area. Azrath trailed after his brother before looking back to his mentor. “Come on Junichiro!” He yipped before sprinting towards his ebony colored sibling.

A young one approached Azrath as Rowan concluded his meeting, giving Junichiro a sideways glance before proceeding to pick on and usher the white teen into moving forward. This ashen juvenile was apparently the brother of Azrath, and the opposite in personality it seemed. Azrath appeared to have respect for his elders while, judging by the cold shoulder and stink eye, his brother held some form of disdain for those older than him. Maybe he just had to find something to hate in everything; a typical edgy teenager. Great, one of those, the grouchy male thought to himself. Well, at least he had Azrath to train. He had a feeling this one with the similar fur coloring would be a pain in the neck to try to train. It was a good thing he wasn't some general in charge of making sure all the pups turned into proper warriors. He barely had the patience for the one he had now, and this one was sweet and quiet and determined. A grizzly mug was caught off-guard as his new follower called out to him, urging him to get with the group and start leaving. It had been a very long time since someone had called for him. He felt greying whiskers twitch in a begrudging smile before he quickly wiped it off his face. These kids didn't need to see him cracking a grin; it may blind them all. Either way, he had a new pack to follow. He wasn't an alpha, wasn't competing for the title, either. It was a strange change in structure for him, that the pups were turning their gaze towards him instead of scarred and bloodied warriors, but not a bad one. He quite liked these fresh young faces better than the ugly ones he had helped to scar. Even if one of them had an attitude, one wouldn't stop following him because of lovesickness, and another one who was spacey and ran into trees. Then there was the mute one. He had seen the gentleness the Beta had shown her during sparring. Mute or no, she too would need the skills to defend herself, and continuing to coddle her would do nothing but make her more vulnerable, and in turn, make the pack more vulnerable. A group is only as strong as their weakest link. With one more push, he began to follow the pups, staying at the back of the line of the pack so he could make sure no one was being left behind and nothing would be attacking them from the same direction. He may not be an elite warrior anymore, but he could still hold his own, and he could be a meat shield to let the others get their bearings and act accordingly at the very least if they were ambushed. He gazed ahead of him at the wolves moving in unison towards a new world. This was the budding of new life, a new chapter in his own life. It seemed the pages were still turning and his time wasn't over quite yet. It could be worse; he could have spent his golden years in a gutter or dead. The sun felt nice on his fur. warming his scars and reaching to warm his insides. This didn't seem so bad. It would take work to train the young ones, but it was better to spend the time to prepare them than to suffer the consequences later when they wouldn't be able to fight or stop an attack. ~Exit to Future Sorelus Turf~ Scout Azrath @simon Alpha Rowan

APPRENTICE HYE-SU OF SORELUS
Hye-Su watched the spar intently, her own body itching to join in. She didn’t even budge, just stayed their stoic and emotionless following every movement and action Joy and Wingnut made. Her ears swivelled on top of her head to listen to any instructions, orders, or criticisms the Beta had. She studied the adults movement and watched where Joy failed. This was a good learning opportunity cause Hye-Su then tried to come up with alternatives.
Rowan approached their group, dealing out apologies were needed. Her own ebony ears perked at his words. Leaving? For once, a new emotion bloomed in her bosom. Excitement. The corners of lips twitched which through her mind off balance. Barely hearing the sassy comment of Simon, her lipped twitched again but this time with a familiar emotion: annoyance.
This called for the sparring to stop and as each one began to follow their leader, she moved to join Wingnut. The older she-wolf was more relatable than the others, with the same mind and actions as she had. However, this approach was one for suggestions.
“Wingnut, if I could have your attention real quick, it won't take long,” her tone was the usual quiet but articulated and sharp, sweet on the ears but confident enough to not take her as weak. “I have a suggestion about the spars, instead of mentor on disciple, perhaps pairing each of us apprentices into pairs and assigning a mentor to watch and instruct from the sidelines?” she offered, not sure if the other had already thought and made up this plan for future spars. But to Hye-Su this made the most logical sense seeing as there were so many younger wolves in need of training than there are adults.
With however Wingnut replied she would accept it with a nod. Before moving on she gave one last comment, "Here's to finding a home." With that she followed after the group, seeming to trail and follow behind either Junichiro, Rowan, or what appeared to be keeping an eye on Karini. The other wolf seemed to have struck a cord in Hye-Su, and she acted towards the other like a watchful older sister.

As Karini and Helios had been training, an important announcement was made from the Alpha. "We all will be leaving this territory within the month." he announced. Well, well, wasn't Helios getting all the exciting action on the first day? All in a couple hours, he had been declared on probation, put to training a yearling, and received an announcement of territory change. It seemed he came at a time that would never leave him as bored as his past life had, where every day grew repetitive. Here, it seemed no hour was the same, not with all the wolves with different personalities and actions and tasks to be done for the pack. Though Helios was reluctant to decide what he thought of pack life, he could not help but feel a small tinge of satisfaction at the lack of boring moments here. "It'll be a treacherous, difficult journey, but I believe we have the power to get it done. Finish your sparring session, catch your last bits of prey, and bid the Brush Lands farewell. It's time we finally have claimed a land of our own."Helios, intrigued and eager for the many things that lay in store for him for the next few weeks, finished up sparring with Karini, giving some pointers and tips on how her smaller weight should be used to her advantage, especially against a bigger wolf like Helios, where agility fights against brute strength. When they finish up, he says farewell. "Try to remember what you learned today and practice so that it becomes muscle memory and not something you have to think about in battle. It will be easier when your body just knows what to do." With that, Helios departs from the young female, eager to get some alone time, time to think to himself as he walked on. All along the journey, he would linger near the back of the pack, an odd instinct he remembered feeling with his siblings giving him the desire to watch over the other and be able to see and predict anything that may happen. Though he did not know these wolves personally really, and had only just joined, he liked the feeling of watching over them, especially the young ones, of knowing they were safe. He already felt a small tinge of devotion (though he hated to use that word) and protection, something he had felt often in his days with a family. Of course, he wouldn't let anyone know that. --exit to future territory-- @karini Alpha Rowan @wingnut

Karini has been quiet busy training and learning survival tactics, and she felt she was slowly getting her goal of becoming much stronger every day. But the idea of leaving to an unknown land was exciting but also a bit scary. She didn't know what was she going to find or met, but at least she wasn't alone. The whole pack will be with her. So when the day came, she felt some sorrow forming in her chest, feeling how the memories of this land came in and out. She was sad, but she knew better things would come, and maybe just maybe she could get a rank and finally return her new pack all they gave to her, by working hard and do whatever she is asked to. She with a deep breath walked, following her friends toward the new world. ---Exit to the new land--- @wingnut Scout Hye-Su @helios @simonn

| J O Y loneliness is poverty
"It should be no surprise to you that you are delicate. You are what most would call 'cute.' However, this does not excuse you from not knowing how to spar or protect yourself."
She didn't want to be cute. She wanted to be useful and smart. She hated that this was how the pack saw her. She was determined to prove herself, someday, but for now she quivered with anticipation. A nerve-wracking surge of heat made her bones tremble. The idea of failing didn't scare her; it was the thought of others seeing her fail that made her shrivel up. She didn't want to do this. Not here, not now. Stop it. I have to learn somehow. She was surprisingly self-aware. The lass was infested with insecurities and flaws that made her shudder at the thought of exposing them, but she also understood the necessity of doing so. She knew she had to face her fears to conquer them, and she was willing to try.
Oof!
Joy had the tendency to get caught up in her thoughts. She simply had no output; nothing to say, nor to whom. There was nowhere for her thoughts to go. So they manifested in her head, closing her ears and locking her jaw. Sometimes they locked her bones too, and only after the sound of surprise spurted from her maw did she realize she'd been knocked to the ground. Oh, and Simon and Hye-su had looked just in time to see it happen. Perfect. I need to pay attention.
She couldn't help her curiosity as she begged to hear Rowan and Raisa's conversation as she removed her ashy figure from the plush pillow of snow...
"I’ve a vision at a hand, and I’d love if you joined me in making it reality... I want our wolves to have the best of both worlds: the freedom of rouges combined with the comforts of pack life. This is the life I dream of for our future children."
She underestimated her alpha. His heart was suddenly shining through his less-than desirable personal presentation. The youngling had always felt protected by him, but never had she felt secure, until now. She'd felt so trapped here, like her survival depended on this monotonous place. Maybe it did, but perhaps in this new life she wouldn't have to feel that way. She could feel independent, powerful, free; alive.
"I," she began towards Wingnut, not really sure what she was responding to. She had to recall from her collection of sub-aural memories, which primarily consisted of the ramblings of her superiors. Mostly Wingnut. The collection was vast.
She could have said, "I should have stood my ground." Maybe she was smart enough to comprehend the power of her weight and agility, and could have told Wingnut that "I should have analyzed your trajectory and jumped to the right in preparation to attack your left flank." But she didn't say either of those things. She didn't think about those things at all, because they were worthless thoughts if she couldn't confront the real issue.
"I should have paid attention," her voice was so loud, yet so small, to her sensitive ears. She'd forgotten her own sound. She hated it for a moment, feeling defeated and disappointed. She shook her head, eyes fixating on her "cute" little paws, ears flicking at her sweet little voice. She was more than those things, she knew it.
She waited expectantly for Wingnut to say something, anything, but it was Rowan's voice she heard. It seemed he was ready to realize his vision. It was hers, too; a new life where she wouldn't be afraid of her own voice, discouraged by her femininity, distracted by boys... She was going to be independent, powerful, and she was going to give her thoughts an output so she would no longer feel trapped in her own mind. Instead, she'd use them to help others, be productive, and be important. Rowan's vision was going to save Joy's life.
"You've learned a lot. Good job." Joy blankly looked at Wingnut. She wasn't sure how to respond. The beta pivoted in Rowan's direction in pursuit of the new land. "Thank you," she muttered under her breath before quietly, but most hopefully, following suit.

R A I S ARogue Raisa looked to her lover as the news seemed to fill him with joy. Her tail swept behind her gently, her excitement evident in her body language. She was overjoyed that she was having Rowan’s pups, and even more so that he felt the same way. With this however, he spoke of moving. She knew that he had planned to, as they were going to have to move from the Brush Lands sooner or later, she just knew however, that he was rushing because of the pups that she was now carrying. Rose eyes watched him as he spoke, his words spoken with grand ideas hidden behind them, and an optimistic personality to boot. Raisa felt her heart warm as he talked about them ruling a pack together. Raisa was not quite Alphess material, especially not to these wolves. She wasn’t necessarily a good leading figure, so they would discuss her rank in the future. However, with her mate’s excitement came her own, and her tail wagged slowly behind her as he moved to address the rest of the pack. It seemed that instead of rushing right that instant to leave the territory, he would give them the time to gather themselves and anything they wished to take before they would head to their new territory. Where was this new land that Rowan was so keen to find? It was part of the mystery and adventure that enveloped the pack, and what made every single day worth waking up to.
The white she-wolf looked towards the wolves that had once been small little pups, now sparring and preparing themselves to become warriors and hunters for the pack. Her gaze lingered on Joy for just a moment, admiring how much the young she-wolf had grown since they had first met. Raisa was compelled to almost call Joy her own daughter, but she wouldn’t push too many boundaries when came to the youth that had taken rather quickly to her. She simply smiled, her happiness almost radiating from her and throughout the entire clearing as she walked slowly, being carefully not to bump her belly too much with her legs. Bringing herself to Rowan’s side, she would follow behind him, hoping that wherever they were going, it would be a beautiful place for their pups to grow.

A lone male walked as a silhouette on the horizon. It had been years since his friends had left him, and he had guarded hie territory with emotional attachment, until finding that no matter who he seemed to encounter, they would all leave eventually. The male had thus moved on, wandering lands to whom no one belonged, with a sense of an endless vicious cycle. Hunt, eat, sleep, repeat. With scowl on face and brows furrowed, Koro scoured the lands for any other wolves, though none seemed to come along. He wasn't even sure he had the energy to put into getting to know someone new, especially with the expectation of them leaving shortly there-after. Still, he treks on, as if his body was on autopilot. OOC: Don't know if anyone will read this but Koro needs a plot! he may be a lil grumpy or cold at first but it shouldn't take too long for him to warm up to anyone.

Steller trotted through the high, dry grass. The prey here was small but plentiful, especially in Spring. Snakes, quail, rats—all easy to catch. Steller wasn’t particularly fond of snakes—too stringy—but they would do in a pinch. Steller had eaten a bee hive before because she was hungry, she hardly had the high ground to act like eating snakes was far below her. No, she wasn’t that picky when it came to food. Food was food. There were few ways to go wrong with food.
Old scents of other wolves were present but Steller hadn’t picked up anything recent. Good. There were a few bear scents—a few days old, at least. The early wakers from hibernation. The early ones wouldn’t be too dangerous—it’s when the bears that were protecting babies start to emerge that she should worry. She wanted to be clear of the area before then.

The dry brush scratched and tugged slightly at her ankle fur as she trekked onward. Since coming to these lands, she had made one acquaintance who had promptly left her, and now once again wandered about. Though it was lonely, she found ways to enjoy her time. Looking at all the surrounding plants and stopping to sniff the familiar and unfamiliar, keeping her medicinal knowledge forward and at-access in her mind. To her, her medicinal knowledge was her only value, and it wasn't something she was willing to let deteriorate now that she was no longer a pack salutary. And no matter her past, she decided how she wanted her future and what she needed to do presently to get there. She envisioned herself in a rogue group, small or large, or even a pack, once again performing salutary duties and being of aid to others, and having companions at her side whom she trusted. And while she was alone, lost, and had no-one and nowhere in sight, she had her self-value and skills and motivation to keep her going. And currently, that was enough.

Raja sniffed around, his young body quivering with excitement. Raja smelled all types of wolves, but the most recent was a female. Raja was slightly disappointed, he wanted a large group. He wanted attention. He ran and nearly toppled over into the wolf. Startled he let out a squeak. Embarrassed, he tried to regain his composer. This was not supposed to happen. Raja was supposed to be great, he was the almighty Raja, and the first thing he does is squeak! Raja looked her over, trying to seem board. Raja yawned out of spite. "Well, do you want to join me, I mean, I guess you'll do as my first member of my group," Raja asked, he realized his tail was wagging and growled at it. Wait he was being watched! Raja whipped around and realized his tail was wagging harder from excitement. "Well, I mean, you are kinda old, so you have to keep up," Raja stated. @cersiren OOC: Excuse my little confident brat, your wolf is not old, considering Raja is only 6 months old he might see it that way. He also considers himself to be amazing, and god like. So please humble him. XD

Post by Yona on Jul 9, 2019 15:00:35 GMT -8
Yona strolled through the new land, enjoying the feel of the soft, lush grass beneath her pads. It was a nice change from the grainy sand of the shore that she had recently left. She felt like she was in bliss, with the sun warming her back and her stomach full of fish, her mind drifting off into a wonderland. She imagined beauteous wisteria trees surrounding her, their eerie purple draping around her and filling the area with color. Or perhaps a field of flowers, each bright and unique. She imagined herself being one of those flowers, swaying in the breeze, giving off a sweet scent and a peaceful aura. The scent of wolves hit her nostrils, causing her ears, which had been splayed against her head in a relaxed fashion, to spring up to their usual alertness. Some scents were old, but some were new and still present. She pranced towards the aroma, keeping her eyes and ears out for the group ahead of her. She stopped when she viewed a flicker of movement, her body hidden behind the tall brush, her tail swaying in time with the grass. She became more alert at the sound of a distressed squeak, her maternal instincts kicking in, and bounded out of her cover. Her composure relaxed when all she saw was an adorable little pup. "Well, do you want to join me? I mean, I guess you'll do as my first member of my group," the pup said. He growled at his wagging tail, which began wagging even harder in defiance to its owner. Yona couldn't help letting out a giggle. "Well, I mean, you are kinda old, so you have to keep up."Yona approached the two, and gazed down kindly at the dark brown young male, enjoying the view of reddish streaks which blazed in the sun mixing with the chocolate-colored fur. "Hello little guy," she said happily, her own tail wagging as well. "I'd love to join your group if you'd let me!" she added with a smile. Perhaps it would be fun to play this pup's game for a little while. "My name's Yona. May I know yours?"

"Hello little guy," a voice behind Raja made him whip around. He faced a grey wolf with some cream color on her. Raja studied her, not sure what to make of the newcomer. "I'd love to join your group if you'd let me!" The wolf added with a smile looking down on him. Raja grinned in happiness, his tail wagging so hard he was shaking. Finally, wolves were already bowing down to him. "Well sure, I'm Raja!" He pipped up, then switched to intimidation. "There are rules you know, biggest rule is I'm alpha, got it," He growled, which came out as a squeak to all who was not Raja. Raja was the happiest wolf right now, he had members! His charm was already wearing of on everyone, he was like a beacon! Raja puffed his chest out with pride, looking at Yona, the newcomer. She looked to be older than he was, but not as old as the other wolf. Maybe a female his age would come around. Hunger ate at his stomach, he needed to hunt. Excitement buzzed through him, maybe he could have his own hunting party! The thought of a group made him sad as he remembered his family. He missed his mom, and he whined subconsciously. He looked in horror at the other wolves, did they hear? He was 6 months old, he better start acting his age, there was no time to be missing his mama. Yona @cersiren

Yona couldn't help letting out another giggle when she viewed the pup's body wiggling in excitement. "Well, sure. I'm Raja!" he announced proudly. A look that was probably meant to be intimidation crossed over his face, but Yona only saw it as another adorable action. "There are rules, you know. Biggest rule is I'm the alpha, got it?" Yona nodded firmly, enjoying Raja's game. She laughed again when he let out a little squeak. As she watched him, her heart warmed upon seeing his chest puff out in pride. She was glad that she could make him so happy, even if they just met. She noticed his grey eyes looking her over, so she did the same to him. She studied his dark-haired body and his expression, gazing into his twinkling eyes. Of course, if they had not been pretending, she wouldn't dare to even glance into the eyes of her superior; but after all, pretend it was.
Yona furrowed her eyebrows when she heard a small wine from him, and bent her head a few inches to lick between his ears, trying to comfort her newfound friend. "Is everything okay?" she asked softly. She noticed his eyes nervously flicking over the wolves around him, and she realized that he was probably embarrassed. Her words of consultancy had most likely made it worse, so she quickly added, "Of course you're okay! I'm only joking. The great Alpha Raja would never get upset. Isn't that right?" she asked. Her golden hues gazed into his stormy grey spheres so she could judge his reaction.

"Is everything okay?" Yona asked gently. Raja froze, oh no, did she find him out? Then she added, "Of course you're okay! I'm only joking. The great Alpha Raja would never get upset. Isn't that right?" Raja nodded, yes thank you. "Well, I am kinda Hungry, do you think we could go hunt?" Raja asked. Wait why was he asking, he was alpha! "I mean let's go hunting, uh, do you, will you go hunting with me," Raja corrected him self, wow he really was off to a bad start, at least he still had wolves in his group, they hadn't ditched him. @cersiren Yona
