Cersiren had smelled the strong scent of pup and wolf in the area but figured they were the typical rogue travelers like her and paid it no mind. That is, however, until the source of the pup scent ran straight into her. Hearing a squeak and looking down, Cersiren saw the little one at her feet, seemingly trying to play off his fall. "Well, do you want to join me? I mean, I guess you'll do as my first member of my group. Well, I mean you are kinda old, so you have to keep up," he says. "Old?" she says with a small chuckle. Cersiren raises a brow in surprise at the little one's attitude. Granted, he was just a pup and seemingly had no adults to teach him manners, but his behavior was still a little shocking, albeit slightly amusing. Cersiren's gaze wanders as another female approaches, the other scent that had been hanging around so close. "Hello, little guy, I'd love to join your group if you'd let me!" she says. The pretty female is a couple of years younger than Cersiren and is seemingly friendly. The pup replies with: "Well sure, I'm Raja! There are rules you know, biggest rule is I'm Alpha, got it?" The little one, Raja, seemed to be unable to control his switching between personalities. When a whine escapes his muzzle, Cersiren and the other female look down at him in concern. "Is everything okay?" she asks, but then seems to regain herself and play along with the young male's little performance. "Of course you're okay! I'm only joking. The great Alpha Raja would never get upset. Isn't that right?" she asks, and the little one responds with a nod. "Well, I am kinda hungry, do you think we could go hunt? I mean, let's go hunting, uh, do you, will you go hunting with me?" the little one stutters to keep up the attitude. "Well, I suppose as a new member of your pack I cannot decline," she says, warm amber eyes looking down at Raja, then at Yona for her response. Cersiren would play along with his harmless act, at least until it got out of hand or she felt the need to say something. It seemed, however, that he was just an ambitious and eager pup whose vision of being Alpha was motivating him. It was a little heart-warming, but hopefully it wouldn't get annoying. However, the wise female had much experience with pups and knew when to play along with their behavior and when to correct it. @raja Yona

"Well, I am kinda hungry. Do you think we could go hunt?" Raja asked excitedly. He quickly corrected himself, trying his best to fit into the position of Alpha. While he was doing a horrible job, he was completely succeeding at being adorable. If he were an adult wolf, Yona wouldn't refrain from battering him with corrections and comments about his dominant display. Well, then again, she wouldn't play such a game with an adult. "I mean, let's go hunting, uh, do you, will you go hunting with me?" Raja stuttered out his revised invitation.
"Well, I suppose as a new member of your pack I cannot decline," Yona's attention shifted to the creamy white wolf, who gazed back at her with warm eyes similar to Raja's long coat.
"I agree!" Yona responded eagerly, feigning excitement for the pup. "Let's catch so much food that we won't be able to eat it all!" she added with a kind smile. Just then, a flicker of movement caught her eye, and her body froze. She stuck out her tail, signaling with her body language that both wolves needed to stay silent. Putting all her weight on her haunches, she crouched down, her tail parallel to the ground as she stalked through the tall grass. Before she could get close enough to pounce, the hare spotted her and made a run for it. Though she was upset that her prey wouldn't be such an easy catch, Yona knew that it was now her time to shine. She pounded her paws into the ground, quickly gaining speed. Her strawberry blonde body became a golden streak as she chased after the enticing creature, proud that she was slightly faster than an animal known for its speed. After a few minutes of chase, she eventually got close enough to pounce, and grabbed hold of the hare's neck. Instead of killing, she shook it like a rag doll, then sank her fangs deep into its warm body.
With her prey weakened, she held the barely struggling animal as she pranced back to Raja and Cersiren. She laid the prey at the pup's paws, and said happily, "Alpha eats first!" With the expectance that Raja as the so-called Alpha would make the kill and then eat the heart and liver, Yona gazed a fat hind leg, anxiously awaiting her turn. Once it came, she would dig in with no restraints, fresh blood smearing on her muzzle and paws.

Raja had watched Yona run and catch the hare. He was a little disappointed, Raja wanted a turn to show off. The other female, Cersiren, had accepted his offer and decided to join. Raja was definitely pleased about that. Raja looked at Yona hesitantly and said, "Thank you Yona for the hare, and I might end up eating it, but I want to test out my skills and try to hunt." He looked around, he spotted a denser part of the brush lands and starting walking towards there. Without looking back Raja informed them that he would be right back. Raja crouched low, inspecting the forest for any signs of movement. Raja spotted a small bird not far ahead of him. Adrenaline spiked through him, he crept forward slowly, his tail sweeping the ground ever so silently. Raja stepped on a branch and cringed at the snap, his head snapped around to watch the bird, it had started flight. Raja growled, "Oh no you don't!" Raja streaked forward and jumped, twisting his body around and snapped at the bird just barely grabbing it's foot. He crashed down on the forest floor and held the bird tightly in his jaws. Raja adjusted the bird and finished it off. Raja carried his prize back to the group, satisfied with his kill. @cersiren Yona

Cersiren observed as the enthusiastic young female caught a rabbit and brought it back for Raja to kill, then as Raja politely declined and instead went to prove his own self. Cersiren cocks an eyebrow. The more medicinally-skilled female was not amazing at the hunt yet, but she had practiced to a point to where she caught it most of the time. However, her lack of training set her apart from the wolves and young ones who had only ever focused on their hunting skills. "You both are very impressive hunters. My skills do not lie in such an area, but I shall partake and catch something of my own," she says, not wanting to tuck into the others' earned meals. Turning around, she softly and silently searched for the scent of a rabbit who may be hiding after the frenzy of food-catching. When something catches on to her, she follows the musk and realizes the prey hides inside a clump of taller grass, likely quivering and keeping an eye on Cersiren. This was perhaps the best chance she may get. Quickly, she turns on her heels and lunges for the source of the scent, claws coming into contact with a hind leg. It starts to make sounds but Cersiren is quick to put her jaw to work and finish it off. Standing up and looking at her kill, she thinks, meh. It's a scrawny sort of thing, the kind of prey left over from winter and looking for the bountiful food of spring, but she wasn't that hungry anyways. "A sort of first pack meal, if you will?" she says with a light-hearted smile. This was the closest thing she had to a pack in months, but it was certainly more entertaining than wandering the lands alone. @raja Yona

Yona looked at Raja, her posture drooping upon viewing his saddened demeanor. She cocked her head when he gazed back at her and perked up her ears in a gesture that told him she was listening. "Thank you Yona for the hare, and I might end up eating it, but I want to test out my skills and try to hunt," he said. She nodded firmly, her tail returning to its content waving. She was glad that the teenager was so eager to improve, in fact proud that he was taking the initiative.
She smiled encouragingly. "That's very mature of you, Raja," she said. She hoped her words would reach him, but he seemed so focused on his prey that she feared they would fly right over his head.
She returned her attention to the hare and killed it with a jerk of her head, snapping its neck and ending its suffering. She tore off a leg from the succulent meat before her, hungrily devouring her food. It was a nice change from the fish as, while seafood wasn't bad, she was more accustomed to meat. As she ate, she watched fondly as the teen hunted, letting out a laugh as she watched him streak through the thick grass. She looked on as he brought the prey back, noticing his proud stance. "That was great!" she praised. "That bird never stood a chance against you!"
As she engaged in her meal with a smile on her face, savoring the gourmet juices, her ear twitched at the sound of Cersiren speaking. She raised her head, taking a break from her meal to listen to her pretend packmate. "You both are very impressive hunters," the brown-eyed wolf said. Yona's heart skipped a beat, excited by the praise, and her tail wagged noticeably faster. "My skills do not lie in such an area, but I shall partake and catch something of my own." Yona cocked her head, confused by the older wolf's resolve to procure her own food.
"It's ok, there's enough..." her words trailed off when she saw that Cersiren had already turned to search for possible prey. The blonde observed as she caught and brought back what was barely a scrap of food and furrowed her brows in worry.
"It's a sort of first pack meal, if you will?" She said it like a question with a smile on her face, and Yona had a feeling that her expression was masking something sadder.
"That sad excuse for a meal isn't gonna fill you up," she said as kindly as she could. "Look," she said, gesturing to the hair with a flick of her ears, "there's enough for all of us, so there's no problem if you and I share." Without giving space for the white wolf to turn her down, she tore off the other hind leg and nudged it in Cersiren's direction. "Here, eat," she said with an inviting smile. "I'll get angry if you don't," she added jokingly, a light bounciness in her voice. She sighed and continued to devour her meal contentedly. She savored not only the delicious taste, but also the breeze rustling her fur, the sun warming her back, the birds singing in the distance... Everything felt perfect. Nothing had to change. She was happy, blissful, and unwilling to believe that it could get any better.

Raja was delighted at all the praise, and was glad he felt full for the first time from being separated from his family pack. Would he ever see them again? And if so, would he ever go back? Raja did not want to face that question, he loved it here with his friends, he wanted nothing to change. Raja yawned and asked, "Do you guys got any interesting stories to tell, since I'm the leader, I will go first." Raja paused at that remark and corrected himself by saying, "No, I think it's safe to say we are all equals. I thought I needed to be alpha to gain respect and friendship, but I don't, you guys are my friends no matter what. Anyway, I actually lived in another pack, it was a family pack really, and one day I decided to race my friends and got separated from the group, end of story, who's next?" Raja realized he had rushed that story, but he got the main parts of it down all right. Raja felt silly that he still missed his family, and felt guilty that they could still be looking for him but he wasn't even trying. But he loved it here, Cersiren, and Yona had come to be his new family pack, he wanted nothing to change. Except for maybe his family to come join him, but that would be close to impossible. He was happy to be here, he hoped nothing ever changed, he loved this group. And made a silent pact that he would protect this group, he wanted nothing bad to ever happen. He refused to have it end up like his family, separated. Yona @cersiren

At Yona's kind words, Cersiren gives her a soft smile with her kind and mature eyes; she missed these kinds of exchanges. Dipping her head as a formal thank-you, the creamy female turned her head to Raja to listen to his ideas about sharing stories. His words about her and Yona being his friends make her smile. "Anyway, I actually lived in another pack, it was a family pack really, and one day I decided to race my friends and got separated from the group, end of story, who's next?" Cersiren's ever so strong maternal instinct, one that had not cut off so clean when she had left her family, kicks in and she wishes to ask if he misses them or help him return, but she doesn't want to sadden the mood. However, she can't help but think that this little one had friends and probably family out there who were stunned by his sudden disappearance. "Well," Cersiren says, trying not to let her thoughts of Raja's past droop like heavy rainclouds over their meal, picks up: "I was a salutary in my pack. I decided, however, to make my own way in life and came to live the rogue life." She had already had an answer as to her past, one that avoided the elephant in her mental room, formulated in case the time ever came to share. Her auburn eyes had lingered on the sky for a bit as she shared, keeping a smile on her face, before looking at Yona. "Do you want to share?" Cersiren asks, not wanting the young female to feel pressured if her story was a sensitive one. Yona @raja

Yona met Cersiren's smile with her own, glad that she made her happy. She felt a little awkward when the creamy wolf dipped her head, unused to such formalities. She racked her brain for a response and was saved by Raja piping up. She listened to him with one ear perked as she ate, occasionally glancing up at him. "...I thought I need to be alpha to gain respect and friendship, but I don't..." Yona smiled when he said this, proud that he had become so self-aware. She felt as he did; that Raja and Cersiren were strictly her equals, her friends whom she had grown to love. She was glad not only that the teen was mature enough to admit to his games, but was also relieved that she could drop the act. The tip of her tail twitched in content as she devoured the hare's leg and listened to Raja's story. When it ended, butterflies filled her stomach. She felt slightly worried by its contents, as well as the fact that it was as hurried as it was. She hoped that she could at least fill the hole for him, but still felt the need to check in.
She opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by Cersiren interjecting with her own story. She sighed inwardly, though annoyance didn't taint her mood. She always knew that she could check in with him another time. Instead of dwelling on the topic, she turned her attention to her older companion. "I was a salutary in my pack. I decided, however, to make my own way in life and came to live the rogue life." Yona looked curiously at her friend. She had chosen to live as a rogue? She had chosen to leave her family? How horrible, she wondered, must her life have been for her to willingly stray from her pack, to take her chances against the cruel, harsh, lonely world? Yona shivered, the fur on her neck slightly bristling. Flashbacks of when she had become a rogue came in dizzying waves, forced by the greedy flames. She choked back a growl, having just enough consciousness to know to avoid worrying her friends.
"Do you want to share?" Cersiren's words broke her out of her painful memory, and she sighed in relief. She smiled wearily at the two wolves, and gently shook her head.
"I'm sorry," she said, "but maybe some other time." She wanted to savor to peace of the moment. Such personal stories like hers could be saved for a later time, perhaps when they had gotten to know each other better. Now, she knew, wasn't the time to reveal her past. While she wasn't willing to admit it to herself, Yona was afraid that they would think badly of her, that they would see her as a villain for letting her family die.

Raja looked at Yona hard. He looked at her expression, such sadness on such a beautiful wolf. Raja thumped his tail sympathetically. "Thanks okay Yona. Thank you guys for hanging out with me, I know I was a butt." Raja felt alone for a second. He wanted to join a pack, he wanted a larger group. But he felt like he shouldn't. Maybe they weren't ready to join a pack. Raja hated being alone, he remembered how scared he was when he couldn't get back to his family. How his dreams always came to his mom screaming his name, and how he tried to run to her but before he reached her he would wake up, how upset he would be after waking up. Raja had a group now, but it was small. Raja looked at Cersiren, she was beautiful to, he felt horrible for calling her old earlier, she didn't look old. She looked wise, something Raja never had. Both these wolves had showed such kindness to him. Raja remembered how his mom would tell him stories and look at him with such love. Now Raja was beginning to understand. He felt such a peace with these wolves, they helped fix the gap in his aching heart. He wanted to show these wolves his gratitude, but how? He shivered at the slight breeze, what if he found a shelter for them to sleep in? "Hey guys, I will be right back, I'm going to go for a little walk real quick," Raja announced while getting up. He wanted to surprise them, this was how he was going to show his gratitude. @cersiren YonaOOC: I always forget to tag! XD Will put his adventure to find the shelter in another post

"I'm sorry, but maybe some other time," Yona replies, and Cersiren nods and doesn't push any further. "Thanks okay Yona. Thank you guys for hanging out with me, I know I was a butt," Raja joins in. He pauses for a moment and it seems all 3 of them are sort of savoring the moment. Cersiren would reply to Raja's most recent statement but soon enough his energy changed and he speaks up once again. :Hey guys, I will be right back, I'm going to go for a little walk real quick," he says, standing. Cersiren's brows furrow a bit for just a second, and she exchanges a look with Yona. The thought of the little one wandering off on his own made her uneasy, but she supposed that she could always have his smell to find him by, and his new demeanor made her not want to interrupt with his plans. Thus she stayed quiet, ready for anything in case he took too long or wandered too far. Yona @raja OOC: sorry it's so short!

"Thank you guys for hanging out with me; I know I was a butt." Yona frowned at these words. He was only a pup playing around, and in the end, he had shown such maturity and strength-- he had done nothing wrong, and it saddened her that he assumed he did. She leaned over and gave him a reassuring lick on his forehead; a firm stroke between his ears to let him know that he was in the clear. She glanced over at Cersiren, and, judging by her expression, it seemed she thought the same. Her attention was turned back to the teen when he spoke up once more, this time in a more perky voice. "Hey guys, I will be right back. I'm going for a little walk real quick." Yona nodded and watched as he padded away.
As soon as he had put a couple of meters in between them, Yona felt a tinge of anxiety. It was her maternal instinct kicking in; her gut telling her something horrible might happen, and she wanted to be able to protect him if or when it did. She was half-convinced that she was only paranoid-- She had once again found someone dear to her, and memories of her lost siblings left her terrified of losing him. She refused to let him go like... like she had her family. Just the thought of it made her cringe, and her tail drooped. She shook herself off, and although she was unable to clear her head completely, her exterior sadness had dissipated, causing her outward appearance to revert to her cheery self. She had exchanged a worried look with Cersiren, and chose not to stay back as she did. She quickly trotted over to her friend, unable to rid herself of nervous butterflies. She stuck tight by his side, unaware how close she was. Their flanks brushed as they walked, but she barely noticed. "Raja," she said with a smile after she had caught up to him. "I hope you're okay with me joining you." She paused for a moment, studying his demeanor. He seemed unusually excited. "What are you planning to do?" she asked excitedly, her tail wagging. Sunny beams of joy cleared away the doubt fogging her mind, and she thought only of fun as she awaited his answer.

Raja smiled as Yona caught up, his tail wagging. "I hope you're okay with me joining you." "What are you planning to do?" Raja paused for a moment, it was going to be a surprise. "Well, I was going to surprise you with a shelter, I mean I felt bad that we could be sleeping out in the rain, so I decided to find some cover for you."
Raja shuffled his feet while looking around, it was really pretty out. Sun filtering through the trees, it was blissful. Raja suddenly spotted a mouse, it was scurrying along the leaves. Raja gave chase and caught the mouse in between his paws. He carried it back to Yona and set it down, "We can have this once we find a suitable den." Raja continued until he found a small little area where thistles and branches made a small little hole, he wiggled himself inside, and found it quite roomy. He tuned around to face Yona, "Here take my mouse, and stand back, I am going to clear this out and make it wider."
Raja turned back with his back feet facing her and began to dig, he dug until there was a mound of dirt outside and a roomy comfortable place inside. With a satisfied nod he turned back to Yona, his tongue lolling. "You can come in, I need to rest and then we can go find Cersiren," Raja continued, trying to stifle a yawn. If it were not for the scent of mouse, he would of drifted off, but he was too hungry to fall asleep now. Yona @cersiren

Post by Mercenary Yvaine on Aug 23, 2019 20:36:32 GMT -8
The young male had accompanied them on their trip, getting permission from the Alpha himself to do so. They had trekked through territory after territory, none of them appealing to Yvaine as they traveled. Most wolves would be looking for land with plentiful prey and what other than a prairie like area to go? The wide expanse of area was enough for her to decide that they would hunt for a target here, and she signalled with her tail to the other two to stop. Finding her nose hovering over the ground, she was scenting for anything that could lead her to her next victim. Of course, she would not be doing the killing. Instead, she would sit back and let Crimson take the kill. She wanted badly enough to kill, but she knew that one death was enough. They didn’t want to get murder happy and strike up an incident where other rogues could see. And if they were swift enough, they would never know that Yvaine, Crimson and Mutt were pack wolves. They would instead think they were rogues. Which was Yvaine’s plan. The Mercenary’s eyes glimmered as she thought of all the ways she could trick their next target into thinking she was just a helpless abomination, looking for mercy. Although Yvaine was smart enough to know that most wolves would not aid her, she could pick on the weak, they had a heart and would want to help her. She just had to find the right target, to find the right wolf to approach that would take the bait. She caught scent of others on the wind as it shifted, and she was glad that it was now downwind. They did not need the party of wolves - from what she could smell - knowing that they were indeed more than one. Yvaine wanted to get the drop on them, and this was the only way to do that. She looked to Crimson, her eyes alive with many thoughts racing through her brain as she formulated a plan quickly. “There are a few wolves just north of us. We will need to see what kind of wolves they are, but I will do the luring. Depending on which target is the better pick, I believe you can take them out quickly enough,” She spoke, giving Crimson a small smile. “Unless you see there is a reason to jump into the fray, I would hang back and simply watch. You may have killed a lone coyote, but wolves are different,” She spoke, looking back towards the male. “And I think by now you know they can be cruel and unforgiving,” She spoke, aquamarine eyes glancing over the young wolf that had followed them on their little escapade. He was like her in a sense. Although he was not a maned wolf, or at all different looking besides the eyes that he possessed, they had the same reaction from most wolves that knew of them. They were abominations. He was born from a breeder, and would be a slave for the rest of his life, whereas Yvaine was able to rise through the ranks because of her abilities that she had worked so hard for. But before? She was considered nothing, an abomination to those around her. And so sympathy sparked in her heart for the male, although a flame that she would never kindle and let die slowly. She didn’t need to get too attached to him. He was Aamon’s playtoy. And unless she gained express permission from Adramalech himself that she could take Mutt away from the young black male, she wouldn’t want to be attached and have something gruesome become of the male should he disobey Aamon. But for right now, he was away from the wretched spawn of Adramalech, and she could be happy with that at least. With his skills, he could prove to be a very well groomed Assassin under her training, and eventually under Crimson’s as well. “Follow my lead,” She spoke, trotting forward as she followed the scents that led her to their targets. It seemed that there were two wolves currently there, from the looks of it, there was a female and a male. She would have assumed they were mates, but the male looked a bit young. However, the female was in her prime, which sent Yvaine’s mind to the first thing it would have being in Mortiul; a future breeder for the pack. She smirked, looking towards Crimson as aquamarine eyes shifted between the two. “I believe we found our targets,” She breathed, crouching low. Her frame would not be noticeable from where they were, and the wind was helping cover their scents by pushing them downwind and away from the wolves currently being scouted out. “Female would be worth dragging back to Adramalech. I’m sure he would be happy with another breeder for the pack,” She whispered, eyes darting towards the male. “However, that one needs to go. Can’t have him running off and telling anyone, can we?” She spoke, eyes glancing back towards Mutt before looking forward once again. “You’ll know when the time is right,” She spoke, looking towards Crimson with a small nod. Reaching back, she dug her fangs into her own leg, the pain being almost nothing. She just needed it for show. She had bitten into one of the non vital parts of her leg, so that she could still walk completely fine should she have to run as well, it would be a pain for but a lesser pain. She knew these wolves would not necessarily know that she was not critically injured. Any amount of blood would work to convince them that she was indeed in need of help. After this, she finally pulled herself upwards, stalking to the side where they would not see her, and then finally standing tall before assuming her position as a limping and lumbering in need she-wolf. Letting out a small cry of pain, she limped towards the den. “Hello? Is there anyone here who could help me?” She cried, her voice sounding desperate and in need of help. Once she had gotten the wolves attention, she was sure that Crimson would be moving to get into position, and whether or not the young one would as well, would be entirely up to him. Yvaine let out a whine, trying to further her point in that she was injured. “I’ve been attacked and I’m looking for a place to stay. My legs badly injured,” She said, trying to lure them from the small den. Assassin Crimson Apprentice Mutt Yona @raja @cersiren - and it begins c:<

Ebony ears picked up on soft paw falls behind him, the only indication that Mutt had caught up with he and Yvaine as they trekked through territory after territory, he had guessed they were traveling so much because she wanted this kill to be special, it had to be perfect, he could respect her sense of occasion. As her tail came up as a signal to stop Crimson did as he was told, red eyes moving to land on Mutt, hoping he would mirror his actions, too many heavy steps and their sneaking advantage would be compromised. As a delicate black nose was pointed up at the sky Crimson turned his attention from the apprentice back to the Mercenary. His ears swiveled, listening for anything that would give the position of some members of his same species, lifting his nose to the air too, feeling the breeze catch in his pelt, blowing a few scents up toward he, Yvaine and Mutt. Red met aquamarine as they both caught the scent of the rogues downwind from them, the Maned wolf's eyes bore process, she was planning, always calculating; something he admired about her. “There are a few wolves just north of us. We will need to see what kind of wolves they are, but I will do the luring. Depending on which target is the better pick, I believe you can take them out quickly enough,”he gave a soft nod, eyes staying focused upon delicate features, how black met red, how her smile spread, he would not disappoint her. The larger male turned his attention toward Mutt as his mentor did, “Unless you see there is a reason to jump into the fray, I would hang back and simply watch. You may have killed a lone coyote, but wolves are different...“And I think by now you know they can be cruel and unforgiving.” It was true, from what little he had heard of Mutt and his siblings, their training was strange, structure-less, yet beautifully barbaric, though Crimson wondered what the end product would be without discipline. Assassins require discipline as do any trained professionals when their craft of choice is death to the letter. Poor pup, he was brought into a family that saw him as a mutt as lesser than, as dirt. Though becoming an assassin under Yvaine's critical and watchful eye had hardened Crimson into a machine, he still felt compassion for the young wolf, he was sure he just wanted to belong, to have a purpose that wasn't being someones toy. Perhaps he would bring his thoughts up to Yvaine tonight in the den, surely she would agree it was a waste of a life to have Mutt 'serve' under Aamon, especially one with such promise in his eyes, A young mind right for the molding. "Follow my lead" He heard her voice again, watching as she trotted forward and followed the scents, he gave Mutt a soft nod and stayed near the juvenile as they caught up with Yvaine before taking cover, looking at the female and the male, judging by the way the female smelt, a good future breeder, a present, he smirked to Yvaine, sure she was thinking the same, afterall great minds shared a certain likeness. "I believe we have found our targets" he crouched low too, making sure he would not be spotted in order to not give away their positions, the wind hiding their scents. “Female would be worth dragging back to Adramalech. I’m sure he would be happy with another breeder for the pack." Crimson gave a soft, silent nod in agreement, they were plotting the same thing. “However, that one needs to go. Can’t have him running off and telling anyone, can we?” No, they certainly could not. "He's as good as dead." Crimson confirmed with a whisper he knew only his two current companions would hear. “You’ll know when the time is right.” Without a word Crimson kept himself low, watching as Yvaine reached back and bit into her leg, not in a particularly critical spot however, just one that would bleed, one that would help her to seem ever so convincing, the rogues were more than likely to fall for it. As the larger male heard Yvaine begin her act, he looked in Mutt's direction, trying to read what he was thinking, he had high hopes for how he would conduct himself. Pulling red eyes away from the apprentice, Crimson moved silently, getting into a better position as he waited for the rogues to fall for the trap lain before them, ready to spring shut as soon as the signal was given.

It had been a hard run, and took every ounce of concentration for the young male to catch up with the two older wolves, his paws hitting the ground softly but quickly, the trek was using up almost everything he had in the way of energy to catch up to them. Vibrant, red eyes searched the ground, a light paw print was set into a small section of sandy dirt, he was heading in the right direction at least, he had been running after them longer than his young body had ever been forced to run before, and he was definitely at the end of his line, when a light breeze finally pushed their scents into his nose. Mutt slowed, that was the first indication of them being near he had found since he had started trailing Yvaine and Crimson through all these rogue territories looking for something of which he had no idea what it could be, but trusting himself to stay on their trail and trusting in the two older wolves to know what they were doing. He spotted the black fur of the other crimson eyed wolf, a huge brute, much larger than Mutt was at only six months old and in the heart of his lanky, awkward teenage years. The other wolf however, Yvaine, was another story, Mutt was sure he outweighed her already, but her long legs kept her taller than him, for now at least, and her weirdly shaped features always made him look a little closer, not judging her appearance just curious about her, one did not see maned wolves everyday but he was sure in time he would grow used to her. Both of the older wolves appeared to be fully alert and this caused the young male to freeze, waiting until he was sure he was in the clear before he started walking forward again, his paw steps careful as he moved along the undergrowth. Mutt was not about to mess these two up while they were working, he was striving to impress someone and now that he had the opportunity he was not about to squander it, especially not because of a misstep or a hasty movement. Red eyes looked between the two as he neared them, they were discussing a plan of some kind, at first he did not fully grasp the plan though the more she talked the better it came together in his mind the young male nodding to her whenever she referenced him, he knew the goal was to kill the male and take the female wolf for Mortiul and more specifically Alpha Adramalech. The female would become a breeder like his mother had been, she would suffer the same fate as Miyako, and the pups she produced would probably feel the same way he did in the future as well. Red eyes narrowed watching her, someone should share in the lot he was thrown into and the situation his siblings were forced into, he would prove one could carve success out of being seen as nothing and unwanted, he would make sure everyone knew his name whether he had to do it by force or not, every wolf would be aware of his power. However, that was irrelevant, Mutt had one goal as of right now as much as he loved to imagine his future as a wolf with power. His red eyes were to watch Crimson and Yvaine and gather as much information as he could possibly soak up from the experience and learn from it, he wanted to impress them. No, it was more than just a desire, it was absolutely necessary, they could be a deciding factor in his future if he played his cards correctly, and besides, he had already begun to like them despite his better judgement telling him to distance himself, they were both interesting wolves and he found their goal-oriented logic intriguing. He felt like they actually saw him, not an object of meat to be discarded at the first signs of use, they saw a wolf worth teaching and a wolf who had potential, Mutt reveled in the attention whether they actually meant it like that or not it did not matter, that was how the male took it and he would use the encouragement to his advantage undoubtedly. Mutt watched as Yvaine reached back to her leg, his head tilted slightly as he watched her sink long, sharp fangs into the black and red, thin leg, Yvaine did not even seem to notice the pain and Mutt’s red eyes inspected the self-inflicted wound a bit closer before she took off, smart not anything that would greatly hinder her abilities but enough to catch the attention of another wolf. These wolves would be great teachers, of that he was sure, but it would be up to him to remember everything he was being taught, and with Aamon constantly on his heels lately he would also have to look for ways to sneak away and train with them rather than with the black wolf. His red eyes watched as Yvaine moved into a better position and the young, tan male slipped in beside Crimson, lowering himself as he watched the scene unfold in front of him. He felt his shoulder graze against the the large black male as Mutt settled in waiting, he glanced at Crimson quickly, most wolves he knew did not like being touched by a mutt like him, Hound was about the only one and that was his brother. If Crimson seemed uncomfortable with him Mutt would move to the side, but otherwise the young male was content sitting right beside the large, black brute. Yvaine limped out of the foliage crying for help, she was a great actor, Mutt smirked as he thought about his own talent in the field musing to himself that he might even be better at it than the maned wolf but he did not dare to say such things, instead focusing back on the scene before him. The red she-wolf whined and limped continuing to talk quickly as if in actual pain, Mutt's shoulders rolled beneath his pelt and his red eyes narrowed waiting, whether he was actually doing anything or not he needed to be prepared in case this whole thing went south really quickly. He felt the air shift beside him as Crimson also tensed in anticipation waiting for the moment to strike, oh this would be a great learning opportunity, and exquisite teachers to seal the deal.
