Eleven felt Wingnut's larger tail flick her back for a moment, which only decreased her volume of growl. However she did not stop, the low rumbling in her throat carrying on. "I didn't even intend to stumble upon you, if I wanted to cause harm, I could have done it by now," the she-wolf stated. Oh because that was soooo reassuring. It seemed Wingnut had the same idea as she bore her teeth and growled. "You have overstayed your welcome. Leave, now, or offensive measures will be taken against you." Eleven looked up at her with appreciation, she most certainly did like the chocolate-powder colored she wolf - and her brother. All the inky female said in return was a useless apology as she stared at Eleven and the small female only snarled back. "Wingnut," came Rowan's voice, as if telling the older she-wolf that she had done wrong, which in Eleven's eyes - she had not. "Stranger, please come forward. You say that you would like to offer your help, and I am awfully grateful; your name is Elspeth, correct? What brought you to approach our group?" Eleven stared at Rowan like he was crazy. Was he really so trusting?! After such a thing happened to him?! The jet-black female acquainted herself more-so "I did not approach to cause harm." she stated, A small and sarcastic "Yeah, right." uttered under Eleven's breath. She didn't like the new female, not one bit. "I was hunting nearby, I happened to catch your scent and it peaked my curiosity. When I noticed you were injured I assumed I could help, I am strong, I can hunt, and I can fight. I had no intentions of attacking, I am well aware of when I am outnumbered, and I had no reason to harm anyone." Eleven rolled her eyes as she sat next to Wingnut's laying form, ears flattened against her skull, waiting for the sap story to be over. "If you would like, I will offer my assistance... or I can leave.""I will gladly take all the assistance that I can get. You can follow Twizzle and Snow Rose to join them on their hunt, I'm sure if you ask Twizzle he'll fill you in on what you'll be hunting, Elspeth, if you prove yourself to be useful, I will gladly extend an invitation for you to join my group. The name is Rowan, by the way." Rowan smiled at the inky female which only worked up Eleven more. "Good luck," he spoke. Eleven's eyes narrowed at Rowan's large sandy form but she didn't budge from Wingnut's side. A small "Tch." left her vocal chords. Call it a drastic switch of favoritism but she didn't care. El waited for the day she grew bigger and stronger like the oaken female beside her. She hated this feeling of being so small she couldn't do anything. Eyeing Wingnut beside her, she studied her form. A sense of silent grace laid over her, not to mention she was intimidating also. The younger thought hard for a long moment, eyebrows furrowed together before turning back to Wingnut. ".. Teach me to be stronger..." She trailed off for a moment, her voice quiet as so only the mottled female could hear, golden flecked eyes flickering to Rowan's broken form before resting back to the older she-wolfs eyes. "Like you." It was a big request, sure. And perhaps she'd have to wait til Wingnut got better if the elder accepted. But Eleven didn't want to stand by and watch everyone do the work while she got babied around. She wasn't a pup damnit and she didn't want to be treated like one anymore.

The ebony she-wolf's yellow eyes danced with a slight amusement as the brute before her tilted her head towards the side. When his voice slid from his maw, smooth and welcoming, she dipped her head to him. He was allowing her a chance to prove herself, and though she felt no absolute need to prove that she was worth it, something about the brute before her made her desire to show him the assistance she could so greatly offer. She blinked as he stated his name. So his name was Rowan. She nodded, moving a single step forwards, her front right paw lifting and moving in the direction too which she had seen the two wolves, who she assumed were Twizzle and Snow Rose, but just as her paw grazed the ground she pulled it back, her eyes once again locking on the male "Thank you, Rowan" She remarked before she allowed her paw to once again move in the direction of the others. This time, it made full contact with the rough terrain, the scent of the other two dousing her nostrils. She felt her paws move slightly faster, her ears flicking backward as she heard the tck sound escape the young she-wolf's muzzle. She bit back a snarl, her body remaining placid as she moved towards the others. She felt eyes follow her as she made her way towards the two hunters. She made no moves to return the stares and instead focused on the task at hand. When she had caught up to them she flicked her ears forwards "Um, Twizzle and Snow Rose? Right? Rowan sent me to join you" She remarked, flickering her ears forward. She stayed a short distance off, readying herself for an attack. Her tail hung loose between her legs, ears erect but not in an aggressive manner, her yellow eyes dancing between the two wolves.

It was with what seemed almost to be interest that Wingnut observed the small cream form of Eleven bunk down beside her. "I was hunting nearby, I happened to catch your scent and it peaked my curiosity. When I noticed you were injured I assumed I could help, I am strong, I can hunt, and I can fight. I had no intentions of attacking, I am well aware of when I am outnumbered, and I had no reason to harm anyone. If you would like, I will offer my assistance... or I can leave." Elspeth finished her monologue. Wingnut had no doubt that this she-rogue had stumbled upon the group by accident, but based on the inability for the group to fight back, she was still on alert. "I will gladly take all the assistance that I can get. You can follow Twizzle and Snow Rose to join them on their hunt, I'm sure if you ask Twizzle he'll fill you in on what you'll be hunting, Elspeth, if you prove yourself to be useful, I will gladly extend an invitation for you to join my group. The name is Rowan, by the way," Rowan responded, in his generous persona that Wingnut had grown to expect. If this other rogue brought back some food, Wingnut wouldn't block her out completely. She would get the same treatment as everyone else; cold and business like. The small, guttural sound that the small form beside her uttered swapped her focus. She flicked an ebony ear the young one's way, but kept her amber gaze on their surroundings, looking for any other signs of threats. Foxes, coyotes, bears, they were all lethal in the state that most of the wolves that weren't out hunting were in. ".. Teach me to be stronger..." the voice of the small wolf beside her softly requested. That caught Wingnut's attention fully, and with one final scan of the perimeter, she flicked her empty gaze to the small she-wolf. Amber locked with golden flecks as the young wolf spoke in almost a whisper, "Like you."Almost instantaneously, a searing pain shot through her entire being. She gritted her teeth and arched her neck, pulling her head to her bruised chest. No. This young wolf wanted to end up a shell. That was only only reason that she was so 'strong,' her lack emotions; her lack of feeling; her lack of understanding of other's actions. To instill these disabilities into this yearling, it would be impossible. Her breaths were short and deep, as if she was in physical pain rather than mental. Something in her brain cracked, a sliver of feeling slipping out, "No," Wingnut growled out subconsciously, rocking her frame up onto it's paws. This pup wanted to be strong? Then she should find someone that knows how to do that, with the barriers of true feeling. "You do not want to be strong like me, small one. I was starved by my own parents, stolen from them, taken to another pack," Wingnut growled out, not directing the rumbling sound at Eleven, but at her parents. Her empty amber eyes were now blazing with spite, and her tail was a still board hanging down from her rump, not moving at all. "Those who birthed Twizzle and I were always too happy, too lost in their own world. The whole deal of 'feelings' were ruined from me then and there. Do you not understand, small one? I am stuck with nothing! Hell, all of this is foreign to me! I can't help you with what you want. My strength is not what you want. It'll hurt you. Permanently," Wingnut's voice trailed off, her mind still reeling from the demon that had escaped. Her vision was speckled with small black dots, the ground swaying under her as she crumpled downwards, instinctively folding her legs under her. That was another mistake, as the fit she-wolf jarred her chest on impact with the ground. Her amber eyes were glued shut as she took a few deep breaths. Damn it. This was the third time that something had shifted; allowing a feeling to erupt from her being. First it was fear, then happiness, now it was anger. These wolves were breaking her walls, prodding the beast inside with little to no caution. It wasn't their fault, however, she never let them in, so they broke in unknowingly. Now she had to reinforce her walls again, this time stronger than ever. Now there would be questions, questions that would threaten her so carefully guarded inner self again. Shoving her eyelids off of her eyes, Wingnut cast her gaze instinctively to Rowan, than to Eleven. She had no clue how the smaller being would react. Emotions would probably course through her veins as they had just before with her own outburst. Wingnut, now back in her usual state, wouldn't be able to identify those signals, wouldn't know what to do in response to them. Good. That would just prove her point to the young wolf; strength lies elsewhere. @eleven Alpha Rowan @rain @twizzle Salutary Snow Rose @elspeth

Tired paws grazed across the ground, the slightest noise being produced for only those who were talented listeners to hear. The albino pup still had some spirit in him, but truly he was dying of thirst and exhaustion in the heat, no matter if his blinding ivory pelt reflected the sunlight. He was lucky to have found a heavily rotting carcass, what looked to be a mouse that had been picked over. The thing crawled with peculiar little white worms that Mint had never seen before, but all the same they were almost disgusting to look at. With his little teeth he had managed to gnaw at what was left of the bile smelling meat, and presently he regretted even touching the thing. Poor little Mint was suffering through an agonizing stomach ache, hacking up a bit of what little he even had in his stomach. It made his journey to nowhere miserable, though he wanted so dearly to play. The sounds of audible mumbo jumbo had hit his huge ears long ago, indicating that perhaps he could get help. To him, he knew no such thing as a big mean furry wolf that would dare eat him, or rather a wild coyote as he thought they were. Just like him, though little did he know that he was actually a coywolf. Just as the foreign voices became clear, Mint noticed something fluffy laying on the ground outside of the brush he was engulfed in. And then, suddenly, it moved, sliding across the terrain. A toy? Ignoring the gurgling spitfire that pained his stomach, a tiny, skinny form would come bouncing speedily through the brush on somewhat long limbs. " Ahhhh Ha!" he would voice giddily, pouncing on the puffy plaything, weak paws wrapping around it. In less than 10 seconds the young half breed realized that the fluff of his toy was in fact a long creamy colored tail, attached to a big body (Rowan). Realizing his mistake quickly, Mint scrambled off, but not to submit and apologize. No, he knew minimal words and he saw no harm in his play. Instead, he was intrigued that he was right infront of a real live wild coyote; the ones he had seen few times near the humans territory. A slender white tail flopped about happily, his whole back side seeming to sway rapidly with excitement. Mint, the innocent little thing, bounced over to face the coyote head on, staring wide eyed with a goofy smile. He recalled back to his previous two encounters with the species, trying to remember what they had taught them. "Hey, kid, if you ever see another one of me, say hi. Yes- hiii" the she-wolf would draw out. "And then, if they ask for your name say Mint! I think that's your name anyway," " Hieee!" he would attempt, sky blue hues drifting to find that there wasn't just one big wild coyote. Nevertheless, he wasn't scared. " Hiee!" he would repeat, his wide smile unfaltering. Afterwards his orbs would glance around between facing, hoping they had understood what he had said. Meanwhile, his stomach threatened to spill over once again, but his sickness wasn't apparent nor could he express it very well.

Rain flattens her ears slightly to her head when Rowan speaks harshly to her. She honestly though he would be asleep, resting right now. She didn’t realize he was awake. She doesn’t respond to him verbally, just dips her head once in understanding before resting it on her paws, tired herself. When the forest around them shifts and moves not natural to the wind itself, Rain flicks her ears towards the sound, but otherwise doesn’t move. As Wingnut stands and turns towards the sound, Rain shifts her head to look that way, but doesn’t try to stand this time. When she sees the black female close by and her words of not being a threat, that she was interested and that she wants to help, Rain can’t help but wonder how many more wolves out there are around and can smell the blood and the weakness of injured around here. She didn’t like her words of harming them if she wanted to already. The new female would find it hard still to even try it. Watching the new female, Rain could see that she had trouble showing and being submissive towards the group. When the pup, Eleven, goes up with Wingnut to stand beside her, Rain can’t help but wonder what is going through the pups head. Rain’s eye flick off of Eleven and onto Wingnut when she growls out to the new female to leave. She knows of one wolf that wont be happy with that. When the new female lowers herself to the ground, on her stomach and apologizes, confusion ripples through her for a moment before its gone. She understands that this group of rogues is helpful to others if they were to join and this female seems to want to join. As Rowan begins to speak, her ears flick back towards him, listening, though her eyes remain on the new wolf, her head on her paws still though. Rain listens to the talk between Rowan and the new wolf, Elspeth. She can see why Rowan would let her join his group of wolves, they needed the help, but she could also see a reason to not let her. About half of them were injured, and some already gone out to hunt. If she gets aggressive, they would fight back of course, but it would be hard on them, probably. When Elspeth leaves with Twizzle and Snow Rose, Rain closes her eyes and rests, though her ears stay alert from her spot on a side edge of their make-shift den for the day or more. It isn’t more than a few moments that she lifts her head and looks towards Rowan, no past him, when she hears the sound of a high pitch voice of a pup it seems. Another pup, another wolf had stumbled towards them. She just stares at the pup as it stares back at Rowan and all she can think about is.. what the heck?Tags- Alpha Rowan @wingnut @eleven @twizzle @tadase Salutary Snow Rose @elspeth ooc- sorry I'm so late on this. Rowan "Do not judge my story by the chapter you walked in on." The brute's gaze shifted over towards Eleven and Wingnut after Elspeth's departure. He was undoubtedly proud of their willingness to step up and defend the group in such an occasion, especially the streak of courage that was displayed by Eleven. Perhaps if her confidence kept up she would make a fine little warrior; a twitch of a smile crossed Rowan's lip at the thought of the youngling becoming a strong and fearless female. The thought lingered in his mind as he moved his focus towards Rain, his first companion. Rowan frowned, afraid that his words from earlier might've been a tad harsh, but he needed to do such things if he was going to keep his dominance up.
Cutting off his thoughts completely was a sudden small weight pouncing on his tail. The unexpected 'attack' caught the male by surprise, sending a bolt of adrenaline through his body as he immediately expected the worst. With shock and adrenaline running fresh in his blood, his body suddenly shot up off the ground, properly standing on all four limbs for the first time since he had initially collapsed. It was a sharp sting to his ribs and a shredding pain that tore through his hind-leg that caused him to suddenly yelp, realising his mistake in trying to get away from the unknown assailant. With pain darting through his body and his legs quickly becoming weak once again, Rowan soon found himself falling straight back to the ground. The brute closed his eye and gritted his teeth as he held back a whimper, quickly deciding that whoever had decided to pounce on his tail was going to find their guts spilled across the clearing where his group had gathered.
However, when he blinked away the ringing pain that shrouded his head, he found himself staring at a small white lump of fuzz, while he was still considerably dazed from his fall. Rowan's single eye blinked, suddenly confused by what the hell was happening. "Hieee!" The pipsqueak chirped, drawing out his greeting in a strange way. Rowan blinked again, not sure if he should be mad, questioning or friendly (considering that he was just a pup). "Hiee!"
The brute was puzzled by how this pup wasn't terrified of a male with one blazing silver eye, multiple stab wounds across his body, a broken leg and blood coating his fur. Shouldn't the kid be disgusted by him? Rowan swallowed the many confusions that rose to his tongue. "Uh, hi?" He responded, not exactly sure how he should've been handling the situation. His gaze shifted to Rain, Eleven, Wingnut, anyone who might've had a single clue of what was going on. "Y'know, it's rude to jump on a stranger's tail, kid. And not a very smart thing to do, either." Rowan stated rather monotonously before wondering if that was the right thing to say. "What are you doing out here by yourself anyway?" He asked with a gruff tone, still not at all impressed by the pup's surprise arrival. But he knew that he had to be patient with the kid, he was only a pup after all. And it was a strangely unfamiliar scent that stuck to the stranger's fur that made him curious. It made Rowan question if this kid was even entirely wolf.

Eleven's eyebrows furrowed as a pained expression crossed Wingnut's face as she growled out a "No." - which, in turn only made Eleven's eyebrows knit closer together as she stared as the elder she-wolf rise to all fours. "You do not want to be strong like me, small one. I was starved by my own parents, stolen from them, taken to another pack," The tom-boy lupine was a little inwardly surprised at that, she had yet to see Wingnut open up like this, so perhaps it was a good thing. " Those who birthed Twizzle and I were always too happy, too lost in their own world. The whole deal of 'feelings' were ruined from me then and there. Do you not understand, small one? I am stuck with nothing! Hell, all of this is foreign to me! I can't help you with what you want. My strength is not what you want. It'll hurt you. Permanently," she ranted all before collapsing, and El just let the elder get it out of her system with a blank face. Eleven's expression changed to one of concern as the chocolate pelted wolf took a few labored breathes. Then it was confusion as she let the others words sink in. She did not want Wingnut to starve her nor take her away from the group that was going on here, hell the kid thought that Wingnut wouldn't even have that much of a cold heart to do so. She let the tense moment pass into a cooling silence, she didn't want to anger the larger companion further than she already had done. "Then teach me your own way." she said stubbornly yet emotionless, her voice a soft whisper. "Not how someone else taught you." Perhaps it was the younger trying to reach out that compelled her to press on the subject. Yet as brown and golden eyes drifted towards the form of Rowan, anger bubbled up. Some sort of wolf pup - or something along those lines, had grabbed his attention. A replacement so soon? It spurred jealousy and anger in Eleven's stomach until it twisted into knots. "I'm sorry for what happened to you Wingnut." Her voice coming out in yet another soft whisper . "But if you will not teach me, then I will teach myself." she said more-so to herself as she rose to all fours before slinking away from the group, yet not in the direction of those who had broken off to hunt and off into the shrubs.

Snow Rose "I will always be the optimist, the hoper of far-flung hopes and the dreamer of improbable dreams." Snow Rose gave a gentle nod of her head at Rowan's request, her delicate gaze drifting over to Twizzle. She was more than happy to do anything she could to get this struggling group back on their feet, both figuratively and literally. Although she wasn't the best hunter in the world, she was still quite capable at tracking small animals and providing them with a quick end. Larger prey was a different story however, the she-wolf had always struggled to make herself hunt the more advanced game due to the amount of pain that the animal had to endure before it was finally put out of it's misery. Snow believed that nobody deserved to suffer, so she preferred not to think about it when she had indulged on the meaty flesh of a deer or elk whilst she had still been with her home-pack.
With a swift gait, she turned from the brute and approached the chocolate male. Following hot on his tail, Snow Rose left the scene before she could notice the scent of the stranger, her mind instead focused on where they would hunt. "Lead the way, Twizzle." She commented with a polite tone, giving the male a sweet and friendly tone after deciding that she liked his name; it was certainly unique. However before the duo could get very far, they were interrupted by the approached of a charcoal coated she-wolf, her sudden appearance startling Snow Rose only slightly.
"Um, Twizzle and Snow Rose? Right? Rowan sent me to join you" The healer looked this wolf up and down, had she seen this female before? Had she been with the group the entire time and Rose was just completely unaware of her presence. She threw a glance at Twizzle, looking to analyse his reaction to her approach. Snow Rose slowly nodded in confirmation to question about who they were, trying to keep up her friendly demeanour in her time of doubt. "What's your name, stranger?" Rose asked with a curious tilt of her head. This she-wolf knew their names, as well as knowing Rowan's, so she had to be associated with the group somehow, right?

It had surprised Mint only slightly when the huge wolf got up, making himself even bigger. The pup didn't flinch, as he rarely felt fear on such a level, but instead increased the unstable wag of his tail. He had woken the wild coyote up! And then, to his great delight, the coyote yelped into the air. He's happy! The confused little fluffy ball too began howling and barking into the air, deciding that he should join in the fun. Alas, the wild coyote only did it once, and Mint's fun quickly sizzled out. The big coyote then fell to the ground again, perhaps tired from becoming playful for a mere second. How strange, Mint would muse.
The huge animal looked toward him with a strange expression as if he didn't understand. The pups smile faltered for a moment, not very satisfied that he had pronounced his greeting wrong. While he had searched his memories once again in attempt to recall exactly how the coyote said it, the red stained wolf infront of him began talking. A simple hi in return made Mint bounce with joy, recognizing the similarity. Like a baby bunny rabbit, the pup hopped playfully toward the wild coyote, stopping inches away from his fur covered belly. Of course, Mint's upset stomach did not retaliate well from this, and in return the youngster turned his head with a queasy look before beginning to dry heave. At the sound of the coyote's voice, though, he would pause and choke up the mere air that was coming out of his mouth. "Y'know, it's rude to jump on a stranger's tail, kid. And not a very smart thing to do, either." he would say, a big load of sounds and phrases Mint didn't understand. "What are you doing out here by yourself anyway?" the coyote continued. The hell was that supposed to mean? Little Mint searched desperately through the sounds in hopes of recognizing at least one of them. The only phrase that came to mind was 'by yourself' which he vaguely recalled hearing from one of the other wild coyotes long ago. On the contrary, Mint had no idea what it referred to. The ivory half wolf would cock his head in confusion before loosing interest rapidly, instead intrigued by the odd smelling red stains on the wild coyotes fur.
Mint plopped his rump on the ground firmly before softly letting his nose graze over the scarlet fur. The sticky red liquid started to smear on his contrasting white face, and as a natural instinct a salmon tongue emerged to clean himself. As soon as he tasted the stuff, though, he instantly made a face before blowing raspberries. "Bleh!" came his disgusted tone. The albino pup backed away from the ruby hued fur only to turn and lay down snuggled closely next to the wild coyotes arm. All the excitement was draining his last ounces of energy, and for once Mint could hardly manage a giggle. Even so, the exhausted and sick pup couldn't resist the continuous wag of his tail. Surely the wild coyote wouldn't mind the company?
"Name Mint," came his sleepy statement, assuming that they would understand.

Rowan "Do not judge my story by the chapter you walked in on." The dry heaving from the pup was a worrying sign, Rowan's face contorting into an expression of concern. He would have to ask even more of Snow Rose by having her take a look at the pup once she had returned. However, his concern did not last for long as the brute flinched as the white pup suddenly started poking his nose around the blossoming scarlet wounds that were scattered across his abdomen, a strained growl rung through his vocals as the pup was getting a little too close to comfort. Of course Rowan would never actually hurt the pup (unless the youngling was trying to hurt one of his comrades), but the growl was more of a warning for the stark-coloured youngling to stay away from the red patches of his fur.
Rowan stopped his gurgled warnings as the pup pulled away, disgusted by the taste of the wolf's blood. Good; at lease he wasn't a cannibal or something. However, it didn't take long for the little one to curl up tightly beside him before mumbling "Name Mint," and it was at this point that his lack of verbal or social knowledge was apparent. Rowan furrowed his eyebrows, curious as to how the pup has survived for so long. But his mind did not linger on this thought for long as he saw Eleven's peach-fuzz coat disappear through the bushes. His heart stuttered as he tried to haul himself to his paws. "Elev-" his broken leg buckled in pain, and he fell straight back to the ground again, his movement wouldn't have been enough to stir the pup however.
Rowan huffed in frustration, looking to Rain with pleading grey eyes. "Can you please make sure she's okay?" His tone had softened from the one he had used with her earlier, perhaps his voice was even apologetic for how he snapped at her earlier, but he truely hoped that he had done nothing wrong by the young she-wolf.
For now he turned to Mint who was still curled up beside him. He squinted, wondering how he could find out what was wrong with this pup. "Hey ki-" he stopped himself, "Mint, why - are - you - sick?" He drew out his question, hoping that if he said the words a bit slower he'd be able to pick up on a few of them enough to be able to give him an answer.

Since Rain's focus was fully on Rowan and the strange random pup that just came into their small group, she didn't see Eleven take off after the others who went hunting. Then again, that was kind of behind her and she doesn't have eyes in the back of her head. This little pup that wandered in towards them and jumped on Rowan's tail was confusing her. How could something like him survive this long. When the pups nose pushes into one of Rowan's wounds, she waits for the pup to get attacked by Rowan from the pain or just run away when he get snapped at, but when the pup backs away with no worries, this truly confuses her. What pup doesn't move away from a angry injured wolf after it growls at you? She knows that when she was with other groups for a short time and someone was hurt, she ended up staying away from them a god distance so that she didn't get snapped at and everything. With a flick of her ears, Rain rests her head on her paws and closes her eyes to get some sleep. God it was calling for her, but there has been so many distractions. Well what's one more apparently since she can now feel eyes on her and since there is only one other wolf here awake, she knows who it is. When he asks Rain to go after Eleven, she holds back a snarl in her own frustration and from going on a rant for him. She does however, flick her ears in acceptance of the task before slowly heaving herself up on her, her back left leg not touching the ground and her right front not really helping as she makes her way towards where Eleven went off too as quick as she can, which really isn't fast at all. More like a walk. She did notice how there was no more anger in his voice towards Rain, when she spoke out of turn. She wasn't mad at him, she did speak when she shouldn't have had, but she is glad he isn't still mad. While going after Eleven, Rain is ranting in her head about how the pup needs to grow up and stay inside the camp where it is safe. Not wander around after others who don't know she is coming with now. Plus Rain should be resting, not chasing after her or even moving. She took a beating. Yeah send the other injured wolf after the pup who doesn't even like her. Smart. Great thinking. Rain doesn't even know if she can catch up to the pup. She just wants sleep to heal. When shes past the bushes and not near the make-shift den, she pauses and tries to figure out where Eleven went, even calling out to her, loud enough to be heard, knowing she probably hasn't had time to get far, unless she was sprinting, then Rain had no chance to catch up for a while. tags- Alpha Rowan @eleven @mint @wingnut ooc- Okay. No longer muddy, his wet pelt, a dark sheen upon it from the water, stuck to his skin with a persistence that may only lighten once his fur had completely dried. His large ears were heavy and laden with the water, still, and water dripped off of them every couple of seconds, but it was better than having them be so caked with mud as they had been before. With the sun, however, his fur was quick to dry, and had already begun to do so. He stood himself before the three, almost, but not quite, feeling weird. This was, perhaps, a weird situation. Here he was, damp fur clinging to his body, ears so saturated with the water that it was nearly difficult to keep them up, standing before three strangers he met less than an hour ago, who were offering him food. Perhaps it was, perhaps it was not a weird situation at all.
"Thank you," Niqo says. "How kind it is of you all to be so caring for one you have just so recently met." He allows a little nod to them, not quite sure if these wolves had such customs, and began to tuck in.
It was certainly good, considering what Niqo had been living off of for the past, well… while. Leftovers he had found, sitting out for hours, days, sometimes a week or more. They had been cold, of a flavor that would never leave your senses alone, and they had been a reminder of his living state. The warmth of a fresh kill was a feeling that had left his mind weeks ago, but now, he had remembered that a real, fresh meal was warm, and made your mouth water when you smelled it. Was it sad for a wolf to forget such feelings? For a pup? As he ate a portion of the prey, he wondered, and hoped, that such meals would be bountiful from now on. Finishing, he sat back up, not sure if he felt weird being so polite, or if he felt that he wasn't being polite enough.
"Thank you," he says. "That was the freshest meal I have had in a while."
@lucifer @beau @streak OOC: Gah my apologies, I am so so sorry.

Four paws trudged over the muddy earth, the rhythm intermittent by the feeling and sound of his feet sticking and squishing into the mud. Thick brush snatched at his fur, twigs and tall fronds of grass brushing through his rather thick pelt. Birds shrieked and called from within the bushes and from overhead, their chatter permeating the silence Sollux had become accustomed to. Rustling in the grasses, caused by himself and the creatures that thinly populated this terrain, created a symphony with the calls. The sun beat down from above.
Nonetheless, this was a new place, one Sollux had yet to see. Unlike some traveling wolves, he had no destination. He simply chose to follow his paws wherever they took him, so long as it was far away from the forest from which he had come. And these ‘brush lands’ were quite the opposite of that place - a welcomed change. If nothing else, it would prove a decent place to rest and hunt before moving along.
On the breeze came the scents of wolves; they were nearby. However, a sweep of his dual-colored eyes found no others within sight, unless they were concealed from him by the thick brush. As long as he was careful, he could avoid any . . . confrontations. A part of him whispered that maybe a bit of company wouldn’t be so bad. The notion, however, was shot down for multiple reasons. He didn’t like interaction very much, for one. He was an introvert, and tended to keep to himself if that was an option. He had also grown used to being alone over the past few months.
Lifting his muzzle higher into the air, Sollux tested the breeze for the scent of prey. He might as well hunt while he was here. The young wolf’s sensitive nose caught onto something nearby. He crouched low within the tall, golden grass and crept forward, his pelt blending almost seamlessly with the stalks. As he edged forward, circling around so as to be downwind of the creature in question, he caught sight of it through the grass. It was a jackrabbit, small in size but enough for a decent meal for him.
With quiet pawsteps that were the result of careful training with his father, Sollux edged closer to the rabbit. He was almost upon it now, nearly close enough to pounce. Then, a sharp crack sounded from beneath him. In his focus on the hare, the young wolf had trod upon a twig. A frustrated growl tore itself from Sollux’s throat as the rabbit took off. The male quickly took up the chase. His long legs gave him an advantage over other wolves in this case; though the rabbit was still a short ways ahead of him, he could keep up well enough to keep it in his sights. Maybe he could wear it down, or corner it somehow.
However, it would appear that luck was not on his side today. His paws sank into a slick patch of mud and slipped out from beneath him, sending him tumbling unceremoniously to the ground. Sollux cursed quietly under his breath as he picked himself up and shook himself off.
Add this one to the long list of my failures, he thought bitterly as he padded forward. Hunting would wait for now, perhaps until he moved on to the next place. Instead, he turned to looking for a suitable place to rest.

The sun was set high above the thick vegetation, playing hide and seek behind groups of thick, white clouds. Dusty watched them as they leisurely floated across the blue sky. He admired the clouds, they seemed to show emotion that no one else seemed to acknowledge. When they were calm, they would traverse across the sky. When they were sad, they would cry and send water spraying down and drenching those beneath them. When they were angry, they would change into a dark grey and bark with a deep echo and send blinding light down to the earth. What made their emotions change was beyond him. Maybe they really did watch over the animals below, and when one would perish the clouds would cry for them. But after all, this was just another one of Dusty's silly speculations.
His eyes averted from cloud watching and he began to asses his surroundings once more. The grass was course and brown, covering the area around and beyond him. There were shrubs and thick bushes here and there and large patches of sticky, smelly mud. The prey around here was sparse, all Dusty had seen recently had been a grouse that was busy trying to find food for itself; and a hare that huddled beneath a bush, it's wide eyes watched him as he had past it. He hadn't been hungry then, but now he wished he had hunted while there was prey present. His stomach growled to only convey his thoughts to his silly brain. The tan wolf swiveled his ears to see if he could pick up a sound while his eyes and nose scouted for potential signs of sustenance. All he could smell was mud, all he could see was an area without mammals and all he could hear was the gentle breeze licking at his fur.
Silly head, he thought to himself, you have forgotten what it was like to be on your own, haven't you? Come now Dusty, you're better than that! Get it together and find something to eat. Then, find some shelter and take a rest. After all, you have traveled this far haven't you? With some new found reassurance from his own conversation with himself, he arose to his paws and stretched his forelegs, then his hind legs and gently shook his tan fur out. His paws and nose led him to a patch of ground where the earth was sort of dry and the grass was more spread out. His nose had caught the smell of an avian and he had been following it for a little ways now. At least his tracking dexterity was still sharp as ever. Once his black pupils locked onto a feathered specimen, he instinctively froze. He knew that birds were far more complicated to catch than any other small prey items he had ever hunted. He knew he had to get close and pounce on the grouse before it could take flight and be gone before Dusty could blink. The bird was standing beside a small puddle, tossing water onto itself. Granted, the water was dark and probably dirty. The grouse was more than likely getting filthier rather than cleaner. The male rogue didn't mind though, he was hungry and willing to consume anything with flesh at this point.
Every second seemed like an hour, he would take a step while the bird bathed but not another more once the bird looked up from its wash. When he deemed he was close enough, he bunched his muscles together for a swift dash over to the targeted animal but as soon as he was prepared, a startling noise set the bird a flight and almost had Dusty flying as well. His fur was spiked out and his eyes were wide with alarm. He couldn't place where it came from, but he knew he didn't want to find out. His nose quickly set to work to find what had made that slipping sound. Under the thick tang of mud covered most everything but a hint of wolf. It was closer than what Dusty was comfortable with and the male turned tail and retreated in the opposite direction. He wanted to avoid as much contact with other wolves as much as possible until he was completely aware that they could be possible allies. His long legs, deep chest and large lungs were the perfect equipment for a long distance sprinter and Dusty made swift ground between himself and the sound that had startled both his prey and himself.
Paws thudded on soft ground until he halted, tongue hanging from the side of his maw and his sides rapidly expanding and contracting in a swift pant. He looked all around to make completely sure that nothing was tailing him and he began to seek shelter immediately. There was a group of bushes closely planted together with enough leaves to at least partially protect him from the elements. He shrank down and crawled into them curling himself into a ball of fur and sighing once he felt comfortable. His eyes scouted around from what he could see beyond the leaves. Everything seemed to be silent once again and he began to relax and closed his eyes. Sleep didn't take long to swallow him whole after the run he had just been on. Once asleep, soft breathing could be heard from outside of his makeshift den.

Small paws went from a trot away from the clearing, to a full sprint as soon as Eleven heard Rowan call out her name. No, he had a replacement now and didn't need her, no-one needed her - she was useless. After getting a good distance from the group, the small she-wolf stopped for a moment, the scent of someone lingering after her was in the air. A soft growl left the small lupines throat as she heard her name being called out. Although she hadn't heard that voice a lot, she knew it was that of Rain's. Why the hell would she come after the kid? Wasn't she severely injured?! The small being quickly snaked into the bushes, body naturally pressed flat to the ground as ears pricked forward. The younger didn't want to be found, she didn't want to go back to the group - not yet anyway. This may have been an inconvenience for Rain and probably worry the others, but Eleven didn't want to sit by and watch. After all, the sun was still shining brightly, the small lupine only feared for the dark that may roll by soon, but she half-guessed she would be back with the group by then. However what did strike the young'en was that she was indeed completely alone. A small shiver ran through her body at the thought. El waited until Rain passed or was a way enough distance to not see the small tomboy. Silent as a mouse, the small being slowly backed up from the orangey hued bush, ears still searching for some sort of sound. A back paw suddenly felt no ground beneath it as it slid down, causing her whole body to drag backwards. A small yelp left her lips as she dropped down the small ledge that the young she-wolf hadn't seen before. Sliding down the dusty slope, Eleven landed with a small gasp of wind being knocked out of her. No real damage was done, hell the ledge wasn't even that big. Twizzle or Wingnut could easily jump back up, yet El's small lithe body hadn't grown to the size where she could do so yet. Letting out a small inaudible huff, the multi-toned frame hauled herself up onto shaky legs before turning her small cranium left to right. She hadn't been here before, this part of the brush lands completely foreign to her. With her head turning right, she moved her body also to face said direction, it was where the group was so perhaps this way would find a way back. Eleven padded forward, looking for a route that looked familiar or at least would send her back on her way. After quite the length of walking, the boy-looking female caught the smell of a scent that slithered in the air, one of honey and fresh snow. With curiosity, Eleven crept her way over to where the scent had become stronger and stronger, just in time to see a male, just a little bit bigger than herself, slip on mud and crash down on the floor. As he picked himself and shook himself off, Eleven couldn't help the small bubble of giggles that left her throat. It was sort of funny to see, she hadn't seen many wolves slip before. The wolves that surrounded her only fell down due to their injuries, but this wolf seemed healthy. A positive sight from all the negativity that was going on in Eleven's eyes. Not to mention he looked around Eleven's age and was only a tad taller and longer than she was. It was a sight to behold truly, El had never seen someone her own age. She was excited, yet extremely cautious, Eleven knew everyone could be mean if they wanted to be.. So she decided to wait for some sort of implication that the male held kindness instead of hostility.
