His paws where tired and he swore they were bleeding. Or at least badly bruised. He didn't stop to even think or look at his paws properly. He had traveled long and far away from his family to come here; to have some kind of adventure on his own and prove to himself he was not going to live in anyone's shadow any longer. Granted, his submissive side said otherwise as he nearly jumped when a shadow passed over him from the sky. He flinched and glanced up before relaxing. Just a bird; nothing more and nothing less, it wasn't even big enough to snag him or attack. He relaxed his muscles and silently chided himself for being so childish in fears of the unknown around him. He was so used to having his siblings around that having no one around and no idle chit chattering in his ear made him miss his family.
The dreary day of the clouds above made him want to curl up and take a nap; having been exhausted without much sleep the past few days. The sound of water made his ears perk up and he lifted his head from where it hung halfway to the ground in exhaustion to peer around in his surroundings. The lake there was beautiful and he paused a long moment to stare at it. Wow, maybe he could get used to this view. He couldn't find a better place to settle himself to rest and refresh himself.
The male picked up his pace towards the lake and nearly cried in relief when he reached it's edge; the young male didn't even consider looking around first before his nose was buried in the cool water. He lapped at it eagerly; tired and thirsty from hours of walking. Once he had his fill his ears perked up to the sound of voices he had not heard before in his haste to get to the water. Confused he raised his head; water dripping off his muzzle as he gazed towards the voices and squinted trying to make them out. There were a few. Was this a pack's land?! Was he going to get run out because he was trespassing? Oh crap, he hoped he wouldn't get too badly injured over this ordeal if it was. It was honestly just a mistake on his part.
the lonely rogue drew to his paws once more planning on making a silent exit hoping not to get wind of the others to come and chase him down; he was intruding after all and he didn't want any fights. Not over something like this. His gaze drifted towards the pair again and a pain lodged itself in his chest; he missed his family and he had been alone for so long since he had left them to travel on his own. But, would a pack be willing to take him in? He wasn't much; just an shy and gentle wolf who didn't want to harm anyone. He was no threat.
Atlas turned towards the way he had come before turning to gaze in the direction the others had gone. He thought over his choices before choosing to follow their direction at a safe distance. he didn't know where he was going but he was going somewhere ahead. One paw at a time he began padding after the two with a slight limp in his step; resting didn't help his paws at all. If anything it gave his brain enough time to actually realize just how much they really hurt. He winced but didn't make a sound as he veered to the side as to stay a safe difference away from the others and not be seen.
When he saw they seemed to begin to make dens and settle down he froze in his tracks and considered going back the way they came. He was no supposed to be here; this was a pack's territory. Gulping he began backing away but froze when a snap came from under his paw and he yelped when a sharp pain rendered his paw; he looked down to find he had stepped on a stick and it had snapped under his weight and cut into his paw. He didn't even realize he had let out a noise to alert the others of his presence
