The spat between the new Alphess and her brother seemingly ended relatively quickly. Solex's signature scowl laced his persona as he strode away, and Semira looked just... exhausted. Solex quickly disappeared to whatever enclave he lurked in, while Semira just seemed to lag around by the entrance of her den. When Jay emerged from the confines of the hollow, Aspen flicked her singular gaze away. Though she was slightly envious of the pair, she didn't need to see them interact at all. That was just gross. Then again, there wasn't much to look at anyways. Trading one ebony form for another, Aspen watched Solex's burly frame through the bare vegetation as he poked around by the meandering creek that had followed her back. She watched as his slim, yet muscular frame picked and chose his way through the plants that Aspen could care less about. Frankly, she wasn't about to ask the asshole what they were. That was what he needed to know, and something that Aspen didn't. All too quickly however, he slipped into his den and left the cyclops bored as hell again. The sound of a body hitting the piece of dirt she called the outside of her den snapped her attention off the missing body of Ferus' Salutary. A singular eyebrow raised as the twin of the wolf she was just watching plopped herself down like she owned the place. Well, technically she did, but damn it, this was her den! Her little slice of shitty shitty paradise! Would it kill her to have a little more respect for the place!? Either way, Aspen masked her surprise and disrespect with a tiny squint. She needed to express it slightly somehow. "Flint stuck you with telling Jay about Pandora, and Xanthe? What a dick move," Semira's voice rang true. "Tell me about it," Aspen huffed, her frown only turning a little bit upward at the thought of that asshole receiving a thorough bashing from the alabaster she-wolf, "Goes back to drag two bodies back to Ferus and leaves me in charge of a herd of bloody deer that numbered 20 to one. Bull bloody shite if you ask me." Aspen's bitching finished. She flicked her one remaining eye towards the Alphess, a dangerous curiosity peaking her interest. "You here to vent too? Something to bitch about? Because that... that I can help you with," Aspen chuckled softly, her combination or sarcasm, bitchiness, and amusement at the Alphess' sudden approach all leaking into her words. Just a few days ago, they had butted heads over that asshole Oshim being on the herding trip. Now look who was flopping herself down in front of her looking all tired on a hot day. Alphess Semira

“But I Have Promises To Keep, And Miles To Go Before I Sleep…”
Dawn
~Timeskip~
The young she-wolf remained undeterred by the fact that she was still single, not yet meeting another soul that she could label as her mate. And even if she did find one, Dawn doubted Jay would approve; only the Alpha pair found love and bore children, with the exception of the Beta’s. Thus, her full focus was forfeited to her pack, and her pack alone, ears atop her skull shifting with the winds, a soft nose sensitive to the change in smell. Something had caught her attention. The rustic canine pranced up and onto one of the boulders that littered the commons. Her four legged stature of 2 feet and seven inches being stretched to its limits as she gazed out to the east, nose eventually pointed to the sky as the winds whirled past which caused an unexpected shiver to trickle down her spine… Blood…
Cinnamon orbs darted back to the wolves present in the area, the huntress diligently counting the number of heads with ears that she could see. Eight?... Nine? Definitely not the type of number she should be concluding too, even if Ferus had had an abnormal shrink over the months. In an effort to investigate Dawn’s thoughts trailed back to when she had entered the commons, vaguely remembering seeing Oshim leave, only then to be followed by a pup, who had also been chased after by another. All these little events had been none of interest to anyone at the time, but the more the Dawn thought about it, the more she realized how odd it was. Oshim leaving to the outskirts with two pups?
The she-wolf couldn’t come to the full conclusion that something was terribly wrong, he could for all she knew was teaching them to scout. And what about the blood? But what she did conclude to was that they needed to visit the outskirts, she believed that Flint and Xanthe could be there too. In response to this thought her muscled form leapt down from the boulder, eyes having already seen the person she had been looking for. Trotting up to the man in charge, her once purpose filled stride had shifted over the course of the distance it took to reach him, now upholding a submissive display. Ears would swivel sideways while her head drooped low, though the mannerisms of her tail remained unchanged as it hung casually lose with the wind.
“Jay?”
She’d call for his attention. "Were missing three wolves…” She’d factually state, unbeknownst to Dawn that there was a she-wolf that had been the first to leave. “Also…” A serious expression wafted over her. ”I smell blood and foreign wolves, from the borders. I would’ve gone myself but I felt you’d want to be alerted first.” At this moment, the only worry that seemed to infiltrate Dawn's mind right now was that had Jay decided to head to the outskirts, was that he would leave Dawn behind. The she-wolf didn't want to be stuck here doing nothing, her need for purpose pulsing through her rigidity bones needing something to do. And yet she had a feeling the male would choose his new love interest over the average huntress who had pathetically lost her fight with a Lub wolf.

| ALPHESS SEMIRA OF FERUS Semira yawned, pearly canines snapping shut lazily. It was odd, her desire to socialize after years of isolation. Groaning softly, the ebony beauty rolled onto her back, frowning slightly at the soreness that enveloped her. How unpleasant. Flipping back over to her paws, she pushed grudgingly into a sitting position, keeping an eye on the Hunter as she spoke. Perhaps Aspen deserved a little more than Hunter? Maybe it was something to bring up to Jay, her mate. Suffocating a grin at the title, the infatuated female concealed her bliss with a scowl. No need to rub in her short lived joy. It was impressive, the way the alabaster handled herself in a situation that could’ve wrecked some of the most honorable warriors. Alas, it was the eye that made the Alphess apprehensive. Ah, but the tantalizing topic of venting was far too difficult to resist. “It’s Solex, Jay, it’s..” Her voice was laced with a small growl. “Fuckin’ everything.” Why was she suddenly heaved with stress? She loved Jay, really. But suddenly being whisked into this position was slightly overwhelming, even for the ex-Sentinel. “I just didn’t expect this to happen so soon.” The admission slipped out far quicker than she expected. It was the odd cold aura that surrounded Aspen - murderous tendencies and bitchy tone aside -, it was easy to trust. “And now I might have his..” It didn’t matter how much she longed to have them, to be surrounded by bliss 24/7. The word pups caught on her tongue. Was she truly ready to give up everything she’s wanted for… years? Did Solex get in her head? “Anyways, I guess Solex just hit me hard.” Glaring at the direction her brother whisked off to, a soft growl lingered beneath her breath. “But it’s fucking stupid. What the hell does he know?” She snickered, her brother’s love life was… well, pathetic. A lingering love for one female who was eventually killed in battle. Poor him. “Well,” Shifting to face her companion, she looked to Aspen casually, soft midnight flag flickering softly behind her. "You have any-” A panicked sound hit her ebony auricles, and Semira sprung up. No, no. Flint would not have done that. His howl, Semira knew it. Smooth, not exactly deep. But this was scratchy, distressed. Something was wrong, and the small male was approaching. Without another glance to the hunter, the muscled dame took a small composing breath, and whisked toward her mate. Silently, she stood beside him, offering a small rasp to the underside of his muzzle. If he went to approach Flint, she’d follow. If he waited, Semira would stand beside him. Just as she promised. |

The faintest, softest flash of fur breached just beyond the boundaries of his vision as slim, ashen paws beat against barren earth. Greying pelts gleaned on barren outskirts, a perfect, rousing push to continue his current pace, despite the desperate surging discomfort singing his sensitive lungs, the sharp pain searing each limber ebony limb, the distressed thundering of his own pulse. The final home stretch, a few, meager feet, and he'd allow himself the breath he'd been denied since undertaking his blood-soaked burden. Although he'd flown as fast as he could, florid pools seeped through sorrel fur, a small, apt testimony to the fact that his efforts had all potential of failing. A final animated burst of energy boosted him beyond thinning brush into clear, open campgrounds, the solace of Solex's den pushing the pinpricks of his vision. "Attention!" Scraped paws scrabbled wildly against worn earth. "We've been attacked on the southern border. Uncounted dead. Solex's immediate assistance is required." As gently as he could, he set the slender yearling against soft arid sands to be taken away, taking care to leave the ripped hind relatively untouched. Frantic eyes fettered between his broadly clustered packmates, settling on Semira and Jay as the sole creatures that could provide resolution. "It was a massacre," he breathed, his tone frantic, unsteady from his flight. "Beyond anything we'd ever witnessed in war. Two wolves found wounded. More are missing. I found Iberian wolves' intestines hanging by their brunt, the boy's spine broken like butterfly wings, Oshim's fur and flesh strewn for meters - but no body. Not a trace." Honeyed eyes hardened as he selected his phrasing with careful wariness, all too aware of the connotation they held, puce hackles prickling in an irritable arch. "Jay, Semira, you know this breaches far beyond a mere ambush. Bring every warrior at your arsenal to investigate. This is-" he swallowed his unease, steadied his voice. "This is a declaration of war."Tagged: Alpha Jay, Alphess Semira , Hunter Aspen , General Azazel , @dawn , @dis , Salutary Solex

The new Alphess flipped and rolled from her seat outside Aspen's den as the pearly bitch spoke. She seemed to mull over her offer for mutual bitching for a moment before the treasure trove of information opened and spilled from her mouth. "It's Solex, Jay, it's... fuckin' everything. I just didn't expect this to happen to soon. And now I might have his..." as the Alphess trailed off, Aspen raised the eyebrow above her one remaining eye. She could only assume the ex-Sentinel was meaning pups. What a juicy tidbit! And a terrible future. Any number of pups stomping around the common grounds, wreaking havoc was something that Aspen was not looking forward to. If it was inevitable, Aspen would just have to internalize her distaste. Even with the Alphess' statement proposing some shadow of doubt, Aspen could only dread that it would happen eventually. That tidbit of info was something that the new Alphess had probably just realized herself, and even if it wasn't, Aspen wasn't the type to gossip. In the pause of the Alphess' speech, a wonderfully familiar howl broke the skies. That shorty was back, and boy was he going get a chewing out from the cyclops. It would all be banter of course, but shit, that male had some nerve. Turning her attention back to the superior before her, Aspen listened in as Semira continued, "Anyways, I guess Solex just hit me hard. But it's fucking stupid. What the hell does he know? Well, do you have any-" Her words were cut off by another howl, still Flint, but not one of simple announcement. The hideous noise sounded like it tore itself out of his throat instead of him just releasing it. It was urgent, and panicked, two things she hadn't seen Flint to mostly be. Something was definitely wrong. As Semira stood up beside her, Aspen followed. Whatever Flint was losing his head about was obviously big enough for everyone in the pack to listen in, not just the superiors. Aspen made no move to join the Alpha pair, but moved closer to the inner commons, fully ready to fight if wolves were on Flint's heels. As the burnt cinnamon male drew closer, the sight before her grew worse and worse. It was all Aspen could do was to keep silent with her jaw clenched as Flint gingerly set the wolf in his jaws down. It was one of the young ones that had joined only recently. In the same batch as Lluise. "Shit..." Aspen finally broke her silence, taking in what was in front of her. The young male's back was obviously fucked, and blood poured from a wound in his neck and from small scrapes on his hind legs. The faintest of shallow pants were the only sign that this child was even still alive at all. "Attention! We've been attacked on the southern border. Uncounted dead. Solex's immediate assistance is required," the Hunting Superior gasped out. Well that's obvious Aspen's though's sarcastically chimed, but this was no time for childish remarks. One of her packmates was dying before her eyes, and Flint was right. "It was a massacre. Beyond anything we'd ever witnessed in war. Two wolves found wounded. More are missing. I found Iberian wolves' intestines hanging by their brunt, the boy's spine broken like butterfly wings, Oshim's fur and flesh strewn for meters - but no body. Not a trace," one of the wolves she considered to be her friends continued. Bile rose from the back of the alabaster bitch's throat. The cruelty of leaving two wolves in such conditions before abandoning them was horrible in it's own, but the fact that Oshim was no where to be found was even more worrying. Though she didn't like him, they had struck a truce. They hadn't even had the opportunity to be civil to one another yet. "Jay, Semira, you know this breaches far beyond a mere ambush. Bring every warrior at your arsenal to investigate. This is-this is a declaration of war," Flint's words were a heavy accusation. Instantly, her mind went tot he other packs as culprits. That idea was quickly dashed. They were the fiercest pack. Noctis and Somnus were almost as much of a pushover as Lubrusca, and even if Lubrusca wanted to retaliate from their hilarious loss in the war, they didn't have the numbers. No, this was worse. Some rogue or rogues must have done this. Most likely multiple. She couldn't see one wolf being able to take on Oshim, and the two other wolves mentioned by Flint on their own. If the Alpha pair were to say anything, Aspen would gladly wait. If/Once they had spoken, Aspen would growl out, "Sign me up. I may not have liked that ass, but damn it I'd be happy to find out what the hell happened out there." Her one stormy eye swam with anger like a hurricane. An attack of this measure was something that Aspen was ready to fight with her pack for. With hackles partially raised, Aspen now remained silent, waiting for some sort of command, leadership, or just words from her leaders. | Solex had not been bothered after confronting his sister, and wolves were aware of how he was. His quarrel with his sister seemed rather distant now. He knew that he would not win the conversation, and he would not at all twitch an ear as she would most definitely talk about him to someone else. He didn't care what the others thought. He just wanted to protect her, and keep her from being used by some male wolf. But of course, his efforts wouldn't prove useful. The only thing the male could be useful at was healing, and that was just something he had learned.
Leaning onto his front paws, he pulled himself to a standing position, moving his herbs into his den rather quickly before bringing himself back out. The camp was barren, only a few souls were there. Semira was talking with Aspen, Jay was watching his mate, but not saying anything, Dawn was approaching Jay, and the male could only help but eavesdrop onto the conversation. Blood was being spoken about, and the borders were being threatened it seemed. Dawn was trying to seem as if she was brave, but her cowardice had brought her to the camp instead, with only a clue as to what was going on. A useful wolf would have viewed from the shadows what had happened, and reported back to the leader, so that they could catch the offender if there ever came a time that they would see them again. And if they were killing at the borders, there was definitely something to be gained by the attacking party. Solex brought himself to his paws, looking towards Jay with onyx eyes that kept themselves locked on the male as he would wait for what he would say. Solex was ready to depart for the borders in a moments notice, but given that he was the Salutary, he would need to gather some herbs to take with him.
Bringing his attention to a bundle he had hence started since hearing what Dawn was factually stating to the leader, he brought everything from cobwebs and dried leaves to chamomile, broom and catch weed. He needed everything for the wounded that would be at the border, especially since there would be injuries. Blood only meant suffering, and he would need to be prepared. Perking his ears as pawsteps were heard rapidly approaching the commons, Solex turned his head to see the Hunting Superior having finally returned to announce that there was an attack at the borders. He stated that Solex's help would be needed immediately. Growling, he looked towards the hunting superior. The male had no right to be telling Solex what to do, and barking out orders did not suit the black male unless it was for hunting plans.
Flint went forward to describe what he had seen, but the whole of Ferus would be brought to the borders in case of another attack. Looking towards Jay, he gave a grunt before starting to gather his supplies. "Bring warriors, not weaklings," He whispered underneath his breath to the Alpha as he passed. "Apsen!" He barked as he started moving towards the border, knowing that Jay would not bother trying to command Solex to stay before he headed out. "Prove to be useful and come help me," He said, looking over his shoulder at the she-wolf before trotting forward, heading towards the border, wondering what massacre would happen. Solex could definitely handle himself, but could the she-wolf he was bringing with him defend herself just fine? Of course, he would help her, but he didn't want to have to fend off too many wolves by himself. Hopefully Jay would follow suit with the best warriors, and Solex was hoping for the best possible outcome that he could come across. But of course, Ferus faced many tragedies, and this would be just one of many.

Pain. It shot through him like electricity to a metal pole. It hurts, it hurts. He wanted to whine. He couldn't. He had barely stepped into the borders outskirts before being attacked. But by what? He didn't know. His back legs felt off, it hurt to move anything. A scream, a yelp, he wanted to see. He wanted to see the carnage that was happening around him. But what exactly was it? Did they get attacked by rivals? Another pack? No... These were not normal wolves. They were demonic, beyond beasts from the damnedest parts of hell. A gentle calling of his name, a small "Ten," murmured not too far. Sakia? Sakia... No, no, no. Not Sakia. She couldn't be here right now, she shouldn't. The deepest black tried to consume his thoughts but he begged and prayed to stay conscious. He had to. Words became slurred and blurred, in and out of the pool of darkness dipped his mind, his body begged him to let go. It ached and yelled at him, to slip into the comforting darkness that needed to swallow him whole. It felt right, it felt so so right. A feeling of bubbling happiness as a bright light would try to reach out to him, the thought of the only person he loved on his mind, beckoning him to let go. His fathers fluffy face smiling... So so brightly. Yes.. Yes he wanted to go now. He felt warmer, even though he knew his body was getting colder. So close... "Let me go-..." ... Sakia... “I am not yours to give!" Sakia! The warmth was getting further and further away as the coldness of reality and consciousness started to grip him tight. Get up, Ten, get the fuck up. His head started screaming. He could feel again, the pain was numb but still there. His breathing was labored, his chest heaved. Wetness covered his face, no doubt blood. Who's blood? He was unsure. Eyes forced themselves open, it hurt. The sun burned his coffee iris' like hot water on flesh. Blood had seeped down from his head to his eyes and muzzle. His cranium too heavy to lift. Eyes focused and unfocused for a few moments before the blurs of what was happening unfolded infront of him. Somewhere not far from him, lay Oshim's lifeless body. To his other side, Kurumi's barely alive one. Focusing ahead, he saw a black shroud scoop up his reason to keep on going. His reason for coming this far. "Sakia..." he barely croaked out, the three blurs of wolf forms growing smaller in the distance. Tenshi's vision started to fade in and out once more, but not just before a familiar dark form had stumbled upon the blood bath. Black took his sight once more. .:. It still hurt when he became conscious once more. The pain was less-so. But his every sense wasn't filled to the brim with blood. Where was he? Drowsy eyes wanted to be kept close but the little prince needed to confirm his suspicion. If I'm dead, I swear to god I'll hunt the fuckers down and haunt their sorry asses. It took him a moment to adjust to the surroundings, it was the same shithole he had to call home. Scents of his packmates.. Except- "Sakia!" he bolted up-right, pain running through his veins like venom encased fire. A strangled yelp left his throat. Turning his cranium around, he confirmed his nightmare. "She.. She got taken," his gaze narrowed in on the Alpha. "She got taken, by something... Not normal. They- they killed pack members. We have to go get her." Tenshi's words came spluttering out fast. With his front paws firmly planted on the ground, he tried pushing his weight up to no avail, but he couldn't sit around. He couldn't. His big brown eyes pleaded up to Jay and Semira. "Please."He panted, the adrenaline of his best and only friend having her life on the line. His ears fell back. The pain hurt but no where near as much as the tightening in his chest. His eyes once again scanned the pack, for a reaction, for anything. Until they landed on oaken fur. "You.." desperateness left his voice as a snarl ripped from his throat. "You were right there! Why didn't you run after her?!" he yelled, forcing his weight onto front paws once more. "You could have saved her, you could have!" He yelled, now on all fours, although incredibly wobbly, Tenshi growled at the hunting superior - a risky, disrespectful and probably untolerated move in itself. In his mind, the events took place too quickly, a flash before his youthful eyes. He didn't know how long he was out there, nor how long Sakia had been taken before Flint rolled by. "You cowardice bastard!" he snarled, tail thrashing which made a strike of pain run through his spine. He stood in a moment of silence before uttering "I.. I need to go after her," his voice came out a little broken. It was rash and probably drastic, but there's no way he'd sit on the side-lines and wait for her to meet the same fate as Oshim... "Oshim." His eyes found the soul in which the scout had been so fond of. How gentle with. Chocolate eyes softened at the Yukon wolf. "I-I'm so sorry... He saved Kurumi... And me." the last part was but a whisper filled with regret. Oshim died a hero, he didn't deserve to be scattered on the outskirts like that.

Aspen's single seething eye glanced between her superiors, looking for some sort of cue to get going. There was someone dying right in front of her and damn it, she wanted to know who attacked him. "Aspen!" her name barked from the Salutary's mouth snapped her to attention, "Prove to be useful and come help me." Aspen gave a sharp nod, her mouth still sewn shut. She glanced that the Alpha pair, looking for any sort of resistance to Solex's order, but found none. With a small huff, she trotted towards the borders behind the inky male. As she moved, she realised something. The male was still int he commons, and she could vaguely hear what she assumed to be his voice yelling. Her stormy optic narrowed at the large form of the Salutary before her. "So I guess that spilling intestines is more important than a broken back?" Aspen muttered. The male could've given him some sort of help, that was his job after all. Some painkillers at least. Damn, he was either heartless or an idiot. Aspen doubted the latter, but she would label him as such in her head. -Exit to Borders- Salutary Solex @tenshi Alpha Jay Alphess Semira @therest

Everything seemed to move in front of Jay rather quickly. His mate was off with Aspen, talking with the she-wolf, while Solex was tending to his den and herbs. That's when Flint burst into the clearing, carrying a half-dead Tenshi into the clearing. Jay was immediately alerted, and he knew that the wolf would need medical attention, but it seemed that Solex was headed out of the commons, giving nothing but a command for Aspen to follow him. There were more wounded at the borders, and he knew that he would need to send wolves to accompany them. "Dis, Dawn and Azazel! Head to the borders immediately to help Solex and protect him!" He barked, and brought his attention to Tenshi, and then up to Flint. "You as well, accompany Semira and I to the area, and please give us any details, if you scented Lubrusca, if there were any other wolves in the area," He said, stopping to let the male know that he had the ability to acknowledge Jay wanted to know everything. Flicking his tail his eyes laid on his wolves, growling as he knew that this was just another thing Ferus didn't need. "Come on! Move your asses!" He barked out before waiting on Flint to lead the way, knowing that his mate would be soon to follow. But something stopped him for a moment. The body of Tenshi was currently seizuring, moving sporadically as they had not been paying too much attention to the wounded male. It seemed that he had suffered too many injuries, and was currently fighting to stay alive as was. But there was nothing even Solex could do to save him. Which is why the Alpha presumed the Salutary had left him in the first place. Looking towards Flint, he stopped the black male from leaving, and nodded towards Tenshi. "You discovered him, you take care of it," He said, underlying the hint that he wanted the young one dead. If he were to even survive, he would be crippled, and not survive much longer in Ferus, or prove to be useful. So it would be best if they got rid of the male before they put too much effort into helping something that was already dead. Looking away from Semira, he knew that she would probably be angered by this, but it needed to be done. He would depart for the borders, knowing that she would follow. Whether angry with him or not, he would not want to find out until later when he would explain to her why he gave the order, and possibly upset her even more. - Exit -

There had been a strange feeling in the air of Ferus this morning, taut like a string pulled tight, and just as tense. Suddenly, the string seemed to be cut, sending the atmosphere from calm and still to a considerable chaos, as wolves came into the common grounds. They certainly were not in good shape, and it was apparent that something had gone down at the borders. Flint came in first, in a state she had never seen her hunting superior in.
”Attention! We’ve been attacked on the southern border. Uncounted dead.” Dis’ heart seemed to halt inside her chest, Oshim had been headed towards the southern borders. Her brow furrowed, and a slight worry came into her eyes, an emotion rarely ever seen on her face. Flint placed a limp, beaten body upon the ground, and Dis, who was normally indifferent to any kind of gore, tasted something foul in her mouth as she pictured Oshim’s face on that limp body, wondering if he was in the same state. "Solex’s immediate assistance is required. It was a massacre. Beyond anything we’d ever witnessed in war. Two wolves found wounded. More are missing. I found Iberian wolves' intestines hanging by their brunt, the boy's spine broken like butterfly wings, Oshim's fur and flesh strewn for meters - but no body. Not a trace. Jay, Semira, you know this breaches far beyond a mere ambush. Bring every warrior at your arsenal to investigate. This is… this is a declaration of war." Dis’ breath finally escapes from its chokehold in her chest, her crimson eyes looking to the ground as she tried to sort out what she was feeling. Was there a possibility Oshim was alive? He is alive, he’s strong, he couldn’t have been killed… she repeats in her head. Although the female does not believe this herself, she hopes if she repeats it enough, she will start to believe it.
Dis’ eyes raised as the omega Tenshi, who was incredibly shaken and almost hysterical-seeming, started to let out shaky words.
"Sakia! She-she got taken, she got taken by something… not normal. They-they killed pack members, we have to go get her. Please,” he says, and suddenly the hysterical desperateness leaves his voice, and anger seems to flood into his tone as his eyes travel to Flint. ”You… You were right there! Why didn’t you run after her?! You could have saved her, you could have! You cowardice bastard!” Dis flinches at his words, this tense and high-energy situation becoming uncomfortable, not to mention with questions about Oshim lingering in her head and swimming around. She was unsure of how Flint would react. The poor omega muttered about how he needed to go after Sakia, and Dis felt her chest aching for how he must feel. Never before had Dis felt so many emotions all at once, and it was starting to become painful. She exhaled and her stomach seemed to drop as the omega turned towards Dis, his look softening, a look that made Dis’ stomach twist. She was mentally begging to the gods she didn’t believe in, praying, that he was not going to say what she believed he was going to. "Oshim… I-I’m so sorry… he saved Karumi… And me…” Immediately, her face softened, her mouth was left open, and her eyes were left searching Tenshi’s face, though she did not know what for. Her stomach seemed to drop, and at first emotions crossed her face, confused, shocked, denying, hurt, before her face became twisted with a confusing heap of these emotions. She stared at the ground, not speaking, brows furrowed and ears swiveled backwards slightly almost as if in offense.
Bitterness flooded through her, she could taste her emotion all down her mouth and throat, and it tasted like bile. This had to be some sort of joke, and though her practical side wanted her to realize it was not, that false hope couldn’t help but course through the back of her mind. Her chest felt tight, her head was buzzing, her legs shaking ever so slightly. Something was invisibly racking at her chest, as if some creature were inside her rib cage, desperately slamming its body into her bones to try and escape, smashing into her lungs and heart at the same time. This did not at all feel like emotional pain. This felt entirely too physical.
Why did she care so much? Thoughts rolled through her mind amidst a background of chaos, the words fuzzy and nothing sounding clear, hard to understand. Her thoughts were being voiced by Oshim, as if he was trying to help her figure out her naive emotions. You had feelings for me. No, while that was true, it felt like there was something more. After never having feelings for anyone before. Suddenly the chaos of swirling ideas in her mind slowed to a stop, leaving those words hanging in dead silence. They rang clear amongst previously fuzzy thoughts. He had been the only person in her entire life she had become something more than acquaintances with. She had never grown close to her parents, and even after all of her devoted time in Ferus she had never made friends or even really had a chat with anyone, only spoke of hunting and scouting plans and orders. Oshim, however, had been there with that so-irritating but weirdly alluring charm, and for the first time she felt open to someone. He was the first thing she ever had to look forward to that wasn’t the silence of sleep or the task given to her. While hunting and scouting had kept her body occupied, Oshim had occupied her mind. She talked more with him than she did with anyone else combined in her life, and now, he was gone. It felt like he left a vacuum in her, in which she was afraid her memories of him would slip in and disappear now that he was gone. Dis couldn’t help but feel confused by her emotions, especially considering they had never become anything past slightly flirty friends, but he was the closest she had ever gotten to having a friend. Now, she was alone again, hanging in the blank space that seemed to be her life.
"Dis, Dawn, and Azazel! Head to the borders immediately to help Solex and protect him!" the Alpha's voice interrupted the ringing in her head. She gave a small nod, taking her eyes off the ground, moving out of the common grounds swiftly, hoping that she could keep her mind clear of the news she had just heard, thinking maybe concentrating on the task at mind might help. She had so many questions she wanted to ask, but left them in the common grounds, as she focused her worry on Solex.

| The male had simply been ignoring everything around him. From the simple entrance of Semira and Jay, to his announcement of Semira being the new Alphess of the pack, and then to the fight between the siblings. Azazel wasn’t at all interested in the slightest when it came to the family quarrels that happened among the wolves here. He simply could care less about anything and anyone that would cross his path anymore. His life had grown boring, dull. Nothing happened anymore that surprised him. He had developed a rather dull taste for this life, and he wasn’t sure what he would do with himself now that he was settled into a pack, and unable to leave due to his inability to muster the need to leave. He could be fed here, he just simply had to work a little to get it. He wouldn’t be searching for a place to sleep each night, hoping that he was not attacked, and waking up every few hours to make sure that his location had not been compromised, nor was he going to be attacked.
He didn’t miss that about rogue life, and thus he wouldn’t leave the Ferus pack, although he found most of the wolves there annoying and weak. None of them were capable of battling him and beating him in a fight, and he could even kill the Alpha if he wanted too. But Jay brought forth respect in others, that he couldn’t do even if he tried. You had to be the best with your speech skills and your ability to influence people to follow you. Azazel didn’t have that, nor would he ever have it. As if his boring thoughts couldn’t possibly lead to something more boring, Flint came bursting into the clearing.
It seemed that there was an attack on the borders, and Tenshi, one of the younger ones, had been severely injured. However, Solex ignored the male that had been drug into camp, and instead applied his uses to heading off to the border to help those that were in need there. Giving a small sigh, Azazel brought himself to his feet, looking towards the young male and then to Flint. As Jay started barking commands, it seemed that he would be heading to the borders to defend the Salutary.
Bringing himself to his feet, yellow eyes glanced over towards the Alpha and the Hunting Superior, and then to the two that were supposed to come with him to the borders. “Come on, we should be going,” He gruffly said before heading off, knowing that he would definitely be looking for some kind of fight.

Dawn had been quietly stood in front of Jay when a summoning howl found its way to the commons. The she-wolf’s head lifted upwards, paws slowly shifted so she faced the direction it was coming from. Flint. She had yet to find out why he and Xanthe hadn’t returned yet, at least she now could. A breath of relief etched through her open jaws, only to be sucked back in as another howl ripped through the air, dauntingly much more hoarse and strained then the first. Something is wrong…. Terribly wrong. Eyes shot in the direction of a moving body that sprinted into the commons, her uneasy gaze befalling on Flint with a limp corpse held lopsided on his back. No, the boy was alive, barely. The frantic chaos that ensued after left Dawn speechless as everyone began making their way to the borders, and being called upon by Jay to head there as well she begun briskly making her way after Azazel, throwing a glance towards Flint in wariness before her gaze befalling on Dis with concern as it was apparent that the other she-wolf had some sort of closeness with one of the dead. --exit to outskirts--

| ALPHESS SEMIRA OF FERUS "Attention!" Amber eyes remained affixed on the Hunting Superior, as they had been before his hoarse call for the pack. Around her, the world seemed to crumple. Taking the warm peace she was previously surrounded, crumpling it like a leaf, and tossing it into her face. Flint spoke frantically, undoubtedly striking panic into the surrounding pack member's. Frowning gently, the Alphess remained in solemn silence as the voices around her echoed and scream. This was idiotic. Jumping to conclusions, provoking a pack that may not even be guilty of their attack. Foolish rogues, perhaps other packs? Who knows. Alas, she'd wait, eyeing her mate with mild annoyance. Solex, hopefully, under the watchful eye of her pack members, would be fine along the borders. Hopefully able to tend successfully to Kurumi's injuries, and survey whatever is left of Oshim's body. Tenshi, on the other hand, popped up, attempting to pitifully push through the pain that would undoubtedly coarse through his veins. Squinting at her brother's retreating form, Semira almost regret not paying more attention whenever he murmured about herbs. Perhaps she would be able to give the kid something to soothe the sting? Alas, she passed no care to herbal treatments. As her mate barked out orders, she whisked to Flint, padding to the side of the small male. "Take a breather," She muttered simply, a knowing look filtering across her expression. With a final nod, she jogged to catch up to her mate, looking across at Jay with pursed lips. "Don't jump to conclusions, Jay." Semira bumped his shoulder gently, subtle reassurement. "Is Lubrusca truly fit for another war?" |

Mere prospects of potential war were enough to enflame chaos within Ferus wolves, albeit temporarily; a poignant, tiny pinprick of panic decimating their discipline. For the first time, a foreign anomaly entered the eyes of the confident, the warrior, the conqueror; a second’s pulsing sliver of uncertainty. Each wolf expressed it differently; Aspen, in arched ivory hackles and a seething, narrowed singular eye, Dis’s soft, trembling sigh, the subtlest, tangible slip of sorrow betraying each barrier she’d previously set, Dawn’s worried demeanor, haphazardly darting between member upon member in search of security, and finding none. It was the Salutatory Solex that regarded the pack with dull weariness; a cool apathy coating each carefully thought action. Wordlessly, upon witnessing his wounds, he collected his things, but not before snatching Aspen to attend him as maid – aide, skulking away without a second look. Suddenly, it seemed his paws had anchored themselves to the sand; each nerve enveloped in solid ice. Without a moment’s anguish, Solex had sealed Tenshi’s fate, a dying animal not worthy of wasted herbs, serving a sudden, alarming reminder that all wolves here were dispensable. Not even numbing agents, notoriously useless, were granted way. The pack’s frequented pledge rang nature’s reprehensible truth: that only the strong survive. "Sakia!" Instantly, blood-stained ivory paws frantically pummeled, thrashing against Ferus’s arid sands. Desperation peaked, darting between a broken posterior and thin alabaster limbs failing to find traction, each attempt emerging more hopeless than his last. A sharp, anguished cry slipped through his throat, pallid ears plastered firmly against faint crowns of crimson. “She got taken, by something not normal. The- they killed pack members.” Futilely, words filled his ears, hurling effortlessly out the opposite end, his gaze hewn to the treachery of the wounds that had been dealt. Doubtlessly, multiple dirty blows, dealt presumably during an escape attempt, escalating the event from a fierce brawl to a plotted attack. A dried ashen trickle from his frosted throat unveiled a rushed, albeit needless, attempt to finish the job. "You!" Momentarily, anger swallowed anguish as the yearling shifted his sights to him, panting in pain; each broken, jagged breath jolting his jaws one less he would have left to take. "You were right there! Why didn't you run after her?! You could have saved her!" The pup had convinced himself completely. Promptly, he parted his jaws, searching for some final word to wane Tenshi’s worries before realizing: what did it matter? The yearling had minutes, possibly moments left to live. Let him believe his fancies, his delusions, his lies to languish the horrors of what he’d witnessed. His indifference, however, infuriated the incapacitated pup further; his tail sporadically twitching in rage. "You cowardice bast-!"Suddenly, each slender muscle writhed, shattering any semblance of self-autonomy he still had left. Tentatively, Flint stole forwards, tepidly glancing between the brash golden prints of a certain apathetic Salutary & Servant and the adolescent’s inherent agony; rattling, shuddering rasps blotting his build. Anger boiled, arising within each whine, each trembling, convulsive twitch contorting thin countenance. Beyond Ferus’s battle cry, beyond any bullshit rhetoric Solex might have personally held, Ten was dying, as he’d anticipated. Supplying herbs would have been a matter of minimal, primitive mercy; not misuse, as Solex had so heeded. Even ordering for Azazel’s finishing blow would have been more benevolent than watching the yearling asphyxiate on his own saliva. Something had to be done. “Alpha, please I-“, he began, only to be cut off by a deft, swift dip of Jay’s head. "You discovered him, you take care of it." The command rang clear; a short, relatively simple task of taking the yearling out of any future anguish. With a warning summons for his fellow warriors, suddenly, the Ferus clearing stood completely empty, with only himself, and a body to be disposed of. Carefully, he contemplated the best way to work around it. A well-aimed blow would break his neck, and yet, the yearling had been mangled to the point that something about shattering him further just felt wrong. In place, a short, brash snap would suffice. Reverently, he recalled a time where he would have killed for the faintest bit of bloodshed; the gritty, bloodstained glories of battle. Yet now that he finally had an opportunity to indulge his inner cravings, he found he didn’t want it. There was no triumph, no greatness in the act he would have to commit; simply a swift, gentle show of mercy. Precariously, he positioned his jaws on either side of Tenshi’s neck, snapping them shut with fixed, concentrated force. A final apathetic twitch, then total stillness. Considerately, he closed the clouded eyes, barely just beginning to glaze, and shut the slanted maw before finding himself fascinated. It was the subtlest, most innocuous slip of shadowed fur between curved, broken claws, so black it was almost blue, entirely bathed in blood. Hesitantly lowering himself, he parted Ten’s paws just wide enough to seize the slip of fur between his claws for closer inspection. Tentatively, he took a sniff once, twice, garnering whatever information he could. A young male, possibly melanistic, around his age- and bathed in both Tenshi and Kurumi’s blood to boot. A suspect through and through. Eagerly, he snatched his findings, hurrying to catch up to Jay and the others. Perhaps Kuru possessed a similar tuft - and if she did, they were that much closer to catching their killer. Omega Lluise "Every Day That You Breathe You Make My Life Harder."
"-to the borders immediately to help Solex and protect him!" Lluise blinked, crystalline blue eyes spreading wide as Jay barked out orders to his subordinates. With a groan, the omega extended her limbs in a slight stretch, furled muscles aching, unused and uncomfortable. "What the hell is he yapping about?" Llu's soft snarl fell from her lips as a gentle huff, not bothering to let it ring out louder despite having the perfect echo chamber for it. However cheerful and jolly she had seemed before, her facade had been shattered and her irritability shown through. She wasn't particularly sure why she was so perturbed and yet she was. Pissed off and sheltered from the blistering sun and heat within the cool shadows her den, the pearlescent bitch rolled onto her back, paws crossed above her chest to keep her shoulder blades off the ground and bat-like ears perked high up to listen to the alpha's further orders incase she should be needed.
"You as well, accompany Semira and I to the area, and please give us any details, if you scented Lubrusca, if there were any other wolves in the area," He seemed rather on-edge about whatever the situation was, because his voice was even hoarser than before. "Drink some water, idiot," Llu mumbled again, rolling her skull back so she could see him and the new alphess--when did that happen?--across the commons. Her mood was lifting by the second, it seemed, for her eyes widened and sparkled with an evil spite. Daring eyes swept their little conference in intrigue, a sinister smile finally reappearing on her peach-skinned lips. Her alabaster banner beat behind her, collecting a few specks of dust in the silky hairs as she calmly rejoiced. Finally, something interesting was happening in this bland dust hole of a territory.
Lluise was already on her feet when the alpha's next command echoed through the commons, large ears perked and muscles poised as he called out to the rest of his pack. "Come on! Move your asses!" Eager grin set in place, bearing clean white ivories and small body practically shivering with anticipation, the petite bitch trotted joyfully out behind the pair of leaders, only stopping when she noticed Jay's request toward one of his goonies. "You discovered him, you take care of it." Eyes searched (and easily found) the bloody, torn mess that he was hinting at. Brow furrowing into a playful scowl, she brushed past the onyx brute who had been in entrusted with the dead, singing a passing tease, "Luuuuucckkyyy," Before lightly trotting off after her pack, grin falling into a calm smile and coat glistening with a practically blinding light as she scampered after. ~Exit To: Ferus Border Outskirts~
