Appearing once more in the common grounds, the Alpha looked to the wolves that were following him. He would need to make sure that each and every one of them was accounted for, and that they didn't bring any strangers along with them. The last thing he needed was for someone to come by and destroy his pack inwardly. Looking towards Semira, the beautiful she-wolf he could now call his mate, an alarmingly large amount of fear surged through him at the thought of her being taken away from him, whether abducted by wolves or killed. He felt himself pulled towards her, wanting to protect her and shield her. But he knew that he could not be overbearingly protective or she might reject the idea of being mates with him for very much longer. Taking a seat near the entrance of the commons, he'd watch each and every wolf walk into the commons, making sure that he did a small head count. Azazel's large frame came into view, grabbing the lifeless yearling in the commons and dragging him off to be buried. Giving a small nod towards the male, he waited patiently for everyone to be situated and in the common grounds. He would let them wander off and do their own things, but overall, the current situation bothered the male greatly, and he wasn't sure what he could do to further protect his pack. - Time Skip: 3 months - Waking up, Jay was sleeping on Semira's backside, pressed up against her, and curled around her and their newborns. The Alphas were unlucky to have a litter at the start of winter, but their pups were going to be extremely healthy, and already looked to be. They had named them too. The first born, a female, named Rizeal, looked much like him, possessing his coat color. As did Aislynn, the second born. Tikaani and Iylah also had the same color pattern, although having different markings among each pup. Natsu, Miyu and Ezikeal, their fifth, sixth and seventh born, all were like Semira, pure black, with small hints of white. They were barely old enough to do anything more than suckle at Semira's belly, but they were still full of personality. Rizeal seemed to be the largest besides her sibling Natsu, and thus was the much larger and needer pup that piled on top of her siblings to get the best milk. He couldn't help but be proud that his litter was thriving so well, especially having seven. Semira had been in labor for a long period, but he had stuck through it with her, and she had made it through wonderfully, Solex there to watch other her just in case she started to plunge into unconsciousness during birth to reawaken her and keep her going. Jay couldn't imagine being able to push out seven tiny beings from his body, and he wasn't sure how Semira had done it. She had been extremely moody and needy during her pregnancy, which left her often kept in the den because he felt that she needed to rest more than lead the pack. Of course, she hardly listened to his worrisome thoughts, and instead did as she pleased most of the time. That didn't stop him from at least trying to get her to slow down and take a minute to at least rest. Her stubbornness hopefully would not be passed to their pups, but he had a feeling that it would be. Licking his mates neck, he shifted slightly, not trying to wake her abruptly. Having to nurse and feed seven pups would be terrible and had already worn her out. He just couldn't imagine what it would be like when they started walking. And he really didn't want to think about that at the moment.

Dis had re-entered the common grounds unsure of how she felt. Confused, she knew that much. But strangely, she felt drained and exhausted, whereas hours ago, she had felt the most lively had than ever before. Then again, hours ago, she still had Oshim. Everytime she heard his name in her mind, she mentally crossed it out. Upon realizing thinking of him or being reminded of him brought forth all her confusing emotions in a tidal wave, she decided the best way to deal with this was to simply not think of him. Mentally cross it out, take a breath, sweep away the thoughts in her brain and distract herself. Just as confusing was the ordeal that had just been found at the borders, and in their pack. Multiple dead, some missing, and all by some rogues or group with unrecognizable scents. Tendencies leaning towards some sort of demonic religion? It all seemed something out of some drugged up dream, as though Dis had accidentally eaten some random mushrooms, passed out, and these were what she had dreamt. If only it was that way. She felt she did not appreciate pack life when it was normal, as it didn't stay that way for long. Normal, normal, normal. She takes another breath, mentally putting up a wall so the thoughts she knows are coming will not come. They come anyways, stepping over walls as though they're merely roots of trees, no problem in their path.
She had finally had someone. Never had Dis felt what that was like. It took her so long to warm up to him but she had actually had a wolf she voluntarily talked to when it was not necessary, a wolf she wasn't afraid to show a bit of emotion or joke around a bit with. And that wolf was gone all too quickly. That short amount of time where Dis had been a spark of actual happiness and energy, where she had a purpose in the common grounds, a purpose other than fighting and hunting and scouting for her pack, that spark had been quenched as though she had been burning coals and someone had dumped water all over her. Now she felt cold and heavy, the steam rising from her in quells like her abrupt confusion, though she was trying so hard to keep a stony exterior. Now, she felt practically worthless. She shouldn't, she was one of the oldest members of the pack here and one of the most loyal members, but she couldn't help feeling that there was some sort of hole in her that she could not fill with her duties to the pack. Frustratedly, she shakes her head back and forth, not wanting to overthink her emotions. It was her own, stupid fault for letting herself attach to someone. Naturally, she was paying the consequences.
These walks give me too much time to think, she says to herself with a small sigh. For some reason, frustration still builds in her, and she wants to wring it out like a wet mop, but can't. As she enters the common grounds, she does what she has been doing for the past several hours, making herself go blank. Blankness meant no emotion and no pain, and no one seeing her confusion or emotion. As stony as before, she picks a spot to lay down, facing the edge of the common grounds, praying her thoughts won't involuntarily invade her mind.
--Time Skip--
All past hours, days, weeks and months had bled into each other. Dis felt as though she could not tell time anymore. It seemed time was going by constantly, like she was simply standing and watching it whiz by in front of her like a herd of elk running. She had gotten the hang of keeping her mind blank, finding other things to focus on. Hunting, scouting, doing what she was told. Picking at that pebble in front of her nose. Watching her pack members.
An interesting addition had been made to the pack. Jay and Semira had had pups, seven healthy, adorable, beautiful pups. For some reason, they made Dis as sad as she wanted to be happy. She was proud, and happy to have new additions that could be trained to be strong warriors and hunters, and happy for her Alpha and Alphess, whom she respected deeply. She couldn't understand why she felt a small twinge of sadness in the back of her mind. Then again, she had never really been able to understand anything she felt. Despite this, she was forcing life to feel normal again, which it was starting to, slowly.
OOC: quick crappy post! woohoo Jemira babies omg I'm so excited)

Aislynn had been seemingly born foul tempered. While that wasn’t to say she was always miserable, among her seven younger siblings, she had always been the most vocal, the first to voice her disdain. And for good reason. Her litter was simply too slow to understand the vast troubles each day emitted, always in arduous need of a smart, clever someone to point their problems out to them. For instance, yesterday’s was simple. Ezikeal had been making too much fuss in his sleep, dark jaws dangling open, wielding breath that could have killed hundreds where they stood as drool pooled on large onyx paws. She’d be damned before she touched his spit, or worse, his spit touched her. And so she had kicked him. Problem solved. Tomorrow’s issue could be anything, an endless array of possible future problems. Perhaps she’d be playing with her sisters and accidently hit Miyu a hint too hard. Tikanni might tattle. And then she would have to hit her too. But such troubles would simply wait till tomorrow for solving. Today, she’d decided the den was troublesome, simply too small for the nine wolves crammed into it. She couldn’t even curl up comfortably without another fat furry form crushing her beneath their bulk, but the true, unspoken trial lay in stretching out. She would have to prod and poke against another pup, barely able to get a good twist in, and on top of that, deal with their whining too! Who had the time? She, for one, did, but after poking a paw forwards and feeling a – a tongue?! – something was in order. It was time for her to venture out on her own and explore the vastness of her and her litter’s kingdom: the Ferus Commons. She was an entire month old now, and certainly big enough to brave the danger. But first, breakfast. Clumsily, she clambered over her siblings’ forms, seeking a spot at her mother’s belly to latch and nurse. She may have kicked a few – Iylah, practically, had thudded harshly – but apologies would have to wait, at least until she’d had something to eat. Finally, she found her favorite spot, ready to begin nursing, only for her father’s slowly flickering tail to be blocking her breakfast passage. This simply wouldn’t do. So naturally, she did as her mother had always recommended. And bit him. Hard. As soon as it shifted, she released it, demurely settling down to drink. Another crisis averted. | Approaching the commons, Solex felt nothing but disdain for when Azazel dragged the limp body of Tenshi out of the common grounds. The young male didn't really deserve the live, especially after venturing off to the borders to be injured to the point of death. It was his own fault, and the result of his death was not surprising at all. Solex knew a lost cause when he saw one, and Tenshi was most definitely a lost cause from the time he was born, to the time of his death. The male didn't think clearly, and that's what would get you killed. Thinking and actions were critical to a wolf's survival, and if the basic actions you provide don't have much thought behind them, then you'll end up dead before you can even experience the dullness that life had to offer. Or in Solex's eyes, that's how it was. Life was black and white for the male, you either lived a dull life trying, or you don't live very long and die trying too hard. For him, life was never worth trying, but he would put up with it so long as he got to be alone and in his own head. Relieving himself from the common grounds, the male ventured towards his den, planning on spending the rest of his time in there, not being bothered by any other wolf.
- Timeskip: 3 months -
He awoke in his den, the smell of herbs radiating from the back as he had organized them the night before, and had replaced the old ones with fresh herbs. The smell reminded him of home, and from where he had once lived. But it was almost too soothing, and thus he would quit focusing on it, and instead focus on the fact that he was now an uncle. Yes, an uncle. After Semira was made Alphess, the Alpha pair made quick work to produce a litter that would be born in the period of time it had taken the pack to settle from the mysterious murder and kidnapping at the border. And even with his warnings to his sister, she refused to acknowledge his concerns, and went ahead and had a litter with her new mate. But, that was his sister's business, and she hadn't liked his meddling in her business before, and thus he would repeatedly leave the situation alone, no matter how much it bothered him to do so. Stretching and standing from his position in his den, the flat earth underneath him was riddled with small chunks of bedding that he originally had placed in here for himself. But it seemed that with time came the fact that he was indeed wearing down his bedding, and running out of it. Perhaps that was why his bones ached in the mornings.
Huffing at the idea of leaving right away to do any form of work, the male trudged out of his den, silver gaze glancing over the clearing to see that no one was about, or at least that he could see was about. Shifting away from the commons, he ventured out into the desert plains that he called home, and found himself a little hollow where moss lay hidden away from his adventures to the borders. No one else but himself knew of this little hide away, and he would keep it that way if he could help it. He didn't want the entire pack knowing of his secret stash of comfy bedding after all. His joints would kill him if he didn't have it. Trotting back to his den, he slipped in and place it where the old mossy mess used to be, and seeing the fresh new one made him roll his eyes just a tad at the idea of doing this. But he was much too achy to be able to sleep on the cold hard ground anymore.
Bringing himself back out of his den, he shifted to look around the commons, letting himself come to a lying position, waiting for the rest of the pack to wake up so he could silently listen and watch, as he always had.

Time SkipWinter. A season most inconvenient for any sort of comfort. It was cold, the terrain was dry and hard, and bitter winds met no resistance from the barren wasteland. Curled up in her den, the alabaster bitch shivered slightly against the ground. Her fur had grown thick and plush, giving her at least one good aspect of the frigid season. She could blend in well with the background as she hunted the meandering deer they had herded oh so long ago, but that was about it. Her paws here sore and cracked, her stomach was never truly full, and to make all matters worse, there was a litter of tiny things interrupting pack life. They took up all of the time of the Alphas, and with no Betas, the pack was definitely flaking a little bit. That's why children were horrible. They hoard resources and time, and give nothing back for nearly a year, why Jay and Semira would want them at all was a mystery to the alabaster bitch. Finally opening her eye with a huff, Aspen uncurled herself from inside her den. The morning beckoned evilly, yanking her out of sleep and momentary comfort and back into the shitty world. She emerged from her den head first, a stormy grey scanning the white surroundings. Something disturbed the albinized landscape. Something dark. Something haunting. Something that's energy seemed to suck whatever heat out of a conversation. Of course, it couldn't be any other depressing blob than Solex. The alabaster bitch squinted her eye at the male as he lugged what looked like bedding back over to his herby hidey hole. Over the past few months, Aspen had taken a liking to Solex; not in the romantic nor friendship aspect, but in that she could bother and annoy him all day long while she had nothing to do. And that's just what she's going to do. Sauntering over to the male's den, she watched his ass disappear into the hole with chunks of lichen falling off behind him. The contrast of fallen pastel green mixed with the inky sludge of sadness and blandness that Solex trailed with him everywhere was almost entertaining, but an inky head emerging back from the den made it all the better. Aspen stood off to the side, watching the male get comfortable before she decided to shatter his peace. Internalising a smirk, the cyclops plopped down beside the Salutary, pressing her torso against his. "I see why you asked me to go with the borders with you all those months ago, you can barely move Mr Arthritis!" she began, entirely serious in her tone, "I mean, at least I can still move! You're not all that much older than I am, how has your bitter gloom brought you down this far?" A sly smiling smirk grew on her face as she tapped at his rear knees with her tail, just making sure that the joints could even move. She put herself in a position where her eye was closest to the ornery male, just so that she could watch his face shrivel in annoyance at her presence. Projecting her annoyance and bitterness right back into another even more bitter creature was something very entertaining on a frozen morning. Salutary Solex

A soft little sigh bubbles out of Miyu’s tiny jaws, the crush of warm bodies against hers a comfort against the winter chill. Most comfortable when pressed against her mother, the midnight babe was currently draped across one of Semira’s massive paws, fuzzy cheek smooshed adorably as she nuzzles into the appendage. However, the peace of sleep was not to last as an errant body nudges against her insistently in its quest to get past: Aislynn. Looked like it was time to wake up. Little snores coming to a halt, she barely bothers to stifle her yawn, beginning her own tentative wiggling. Determinedly shuffling over bodies, her tongue delivers soft puppy kisses to her siblings whenever she stepped on anything delicate-feeling. However, it was a necessity - Aislynn was Miyu’s alarm clock, and she was anxious to secure a place beside that particular sister, for the sole fact that she was mean. One would think that her older sibling’s prickly disposition would drive the gentle-hearted pup away. However, even though she was the kinder of the litter, she was Ferus - and despite it being unintentional, she was unashamedly using her sister’s personality. Aislynn kicked, and bit, and emitted little grunts and growls of anger, altogether driving most of the litter away. Therefore she was useful. Miyu found that the closer she was to Aislynn when it came time to eat, the better chance she had of drinking her fill before being shoved aside by any other relation. It was nice. Finally, finally settling in beside the older puppy, she contentedly begins to suckle, little tail wagging until it comes in contact with Aislynn’s and stills. Though she had learned that this particular sister didn’t appreciate the cuddling Miyu so desired, any contact was better than none - so hopefully this would be allowed.

The belle of the seven pups had made herself the centre of the snuggle pile. Warm bodies and a little bit of drool from Zekie were just the perfect sleeping conditions. Pressure and paws, snores and snot, nothing really fazed the third born anymore. Half of the bodies in the den were her younger siblings, and being surrounded by everyone just made Tikaani feel loved. However, there was one that Tikaani couldn't help but hold spite against. In just a month of life, her biggest bully was Aislynn. Ever since she could see, the sight of her older sister was one to cause discomfort. There was always a paw or a tooth being thrown her way just for trying to help out! Either way, she was starting to learn to avoid Aislynn when she was in one of her moods, which was almost always. Arching her back slightly, Tikaani inhaled a deep breath. The scent in the den was mouth breath and milk, but the third born didn't mind it at all. What she did mind was the fact that a stomping set of paws prodded over her side with little to no care for whoever was underneath it. It must be Aislynn. No other sibling would tread upon the others so rudely. Releasing a soft whine of protest, Tikaani finally moved. Opening her eyes, the lithe she-pup began to move slowly towards her mother's inky torso. She didn't want to wake anyone else up like Aislynn did. She tiptoed as best she could over to her mother's stomach, but to the end furthest away from Aislynn, and coincidentally Miyu. How the second youngest of the litter managed to sit next to the shark and not get bit so far was a mystery to Tikaani. Attaching herself at the opposite end of her mother's stomach, Tikaani began to drink her fill, swinging her tail over to Miyu as she had done to Aislynn so that the three sisters could still cuddle, even without Tikaani liking Aislynn's cuddles all that much. The hulking male beside her stayed silent for too long for the impatient bitch's liking. Whether he was trying to ignore her or had become deaf from all the moss debris in his ears, the Salutary remained mute. Aspen raised an invisible eyebrow. Was this the game he was going to play? What fun was that? Keeping a sly grin internalised, Aspen began her assault again, this time taking a different approach. Using the fact that the hollow gloom beside her hadn't shied away from her sitting so close to him instantly, Aspen held her breath and plunged her face into the fur near his neck. Once her nose hit his skin, she released the air, a breath condensing on his fur. Likely it would feel warm before the winter temperatures froze the water, creating a small icy patch. As she pulled her face away, she gave the skin a small nip, nothing powerful enough to break the skin but enough to let him know of her annoyance. "Just making sure you're alive in there," the alabaster bitch quipped, an innocent grin laying over obviously pleased features. If that didn't get his temper flaring she didn't know what would. Then again, she was already making plans for her next attack. Though she hated to admit it, the male's overwhelming scent of herbs and bitterness was oddly comforting - he had probably spiked himself with some sort of psychedelic herb. Usually, Solex just smelled like dirt and musty mouth breathing from not leaving his den for hours at a time. Whatever it was, it was about to freeze over from her breath, so problem solved. Ever since Aislynn was able to form an opinion, she’d firmly asserted that breakfast was best a solitary meal. Unfortunately, her siblings failed to conform to her standards, with Miyu in particular being the biggest offender, forever the fiercest snuggler. Still, even she couldn’t summon the heart to snap at Miyu all snugged up against her, and so for now, the sweetest puppy was permitted to lay by her side. Begrudgingly, she’d admit it wasn’t all bad — the tender, gentle touch of her tail was almost soothing to a degree, and even her scent held a certain sweetness to it — but all sweetness between them vanished as soon as Tikaani reluctantly trudged over. Two was tepid company; three was a disastrous amount for any sane wolf to handle, especially if one of those three had to include Tikaani. Unlike Miyu, who at the absolute least could provide comfort and warmth, all Tikaani had to offer was trouble. Trouble with Mama, trouble with Daddy, trouble for simple, fun activities that never did any of her siblings harm (except for Tikaani that one time she accidently sliced her nose open wrestling, but that was like, totally different) her sister existed solely to spoil her fun. Case in point. Breakfast was officially over.
Unfortunately, breakfast had been the only thing worth braving the den any longer than needed. With that finished, Aislynn found herself fresh out of options. It was time to move onto better and brighter things — or at the very least, out of the den. With a small, irritable snarl, she forced herself onto wobbly paws and stumbled towards the entrance, wincing a bit at the feel of new fallen snow. Uncle Solex was chatting up the monster that Ma occasionally met with, the mystical, one-eyed creature she not-so-lovingly deemed the Cyclops. For a moment, she tuned in to their chatter. Horrendously dull, horrifically boring, and oddly reminiscent of the eyes her mother sometimes made towards Dad. Disgusting. Wrinkling her nose in distaste, she considered exploring on her own. She quickly ruled out the thought. Despite her dislike of them, her siblings were ultimately what made adventuring interesting. She needed at least one. Warily, she turned around for a potential target, only to spot little Ilyah slumbering peacefully on the outskirts. Perfect. Carefully, she tip-toed behind her, latching her teeth into her tail and yanking back with all her might, hopefully sending the smaller pup soaring into the snow. “Morning.” She barked. “We’ll be exploring today.”

| Unfortunately his time spent in silence contemplating his bland life was short lived as once more a white figure was by his side, pestering him. She spoke as if she knew at all why he had done what he had done. Sure, Solex was younger, but that didn't mean joints didn't get weaker with the winter that was upon them. Keeping oneself warm and comfortable was something that Solex found to improve hunting skills and alertness. Instead of sleeping in damp and cold dens that made wolves reluctant to leave. It was purely out of bettering his own life than anything else. Her teasing wouldn't affect him outwardly though, which caused an annoyed reply from her as she tried once more to get his attention after he blatantly ignored what she had to say the first time. He had not noticed how close of a proximity Aspen had been to him, so when her touching her muzzle to his neck was felt, he went rigid, not knowing how to feel with the warmth of her breath lingering on his skin and within his fur that she had touched.
Silver eyes looked towards the alabaster female and wondered what her thought process was. Was she really trying to get his attention, or was there something more there? Thoughts poured into his mind, and the thought of the she-wolf trying to potentially have anything more than a mutual agreement to hate each other? He couldn't imagine that she would. Most of Ferus' wolves were much too soulless to even think about reproducing. Unless it was his sister. She was one of the only Ferus members that wasn't weak and still had most of her emotions under control, or had them at all. The male for the first time however, felt a spark from the touch that Aspen had briefly given him. He had only ever been in contact with Semira; that was purely sibling love however. Slate had never portrayed physical affection within the short time they had courted each other, and so Solex knew nothing about other wolves and how they portrayed interest. He had observed most wolves, but Aspen had remained a mystery. Or he had simply not wanted to know how she displayed her affection in fear of knowing that he was being courted. After Slate, Solex had once more shut himself away from the world. He had brought himself into a situation that had inevitably hurt him, as he knew it would. He tried desperately to pull himself back together after that, going to great lengths to avoid anyone seeing him that way.
He didn't want that happening with Aspen. He knew that she was already injured, and thus her injury proved for her to be a weakness on the hunting grounds and battlefield. Sure, he could protect her from being hurt by keeping her simply as his assistant and train her to become a Salutary, but what good would that do when he himself could heal any and all pack members with wounds. He felt himself once more slipping into his thoughts once more and pulled back, mind reeling that a simple touch from her would do this to him. Maybe there was something to Aspen that he just didn't know. But he didn't want to lose another love interest, if that was what she was to him at this point. He couldn't believe he was even contemplating the thought, but his sister's words struck hard when she talked of how miserable he was. He needed to do something to better his life instead of shutting himself away from the world. But he couldn't do anything but move through motionless tasks, hoping that the annoyances around him would give him a couple moments of peace. With Aspen however, it felt like he was vying for her attention, having her come with him more often on herb trips.
Looking towards the she-wolf finally, silver eyes grasped her figure. Something had changed about it. A feeling dwelling within him seemed to rise at the sight of her. Pushing it down, he thought about his options. She had just started a conflicting war within him, and she would notice if he was silent and did nothing. Instead of deciding to walk away however, he stood, looking towards her. Within a second, he had her pressed against the ground, muzzle lingering near her head as he locked his eyes with her single one. "Oh don't worry sweetheart," His breath fanning against her neck as he shifted his weight as to not hurt her. "I'm still alive. Although I'm wondering why you care?" A breathless chuckle came from him, nipping at her neck as he looked towards her once more. Shifting once more, he pulled himself back up to a sitting position as quickly as possible, almost like nothing had happened. She had started a game that he would most definitely finish.

Like a ghost, heated breath hit frozen air, the cloud of condensation causing the target of her spirits to freeze up in turn. The female was nearly shameless in her pestering, not leaving her position next to the Salutary, instead merely drawing her head back, tilting up to find silver eyes trained on her. Surprisingly, instead of the glare she excepted to receive - something that she would have revelled in - stern grey eyes seemed unfocused. It was as if she had found a switch, and the slightest contact with it either caused the male to short circuit or shut down completely. At least it seemed that she had finally broken through to the male, his stoic wall showing some severe cracks and he sat stiffly. A single mint eye lost its own glare, a hint of satisfied confusion laying behind it. On her own, she had managed to throw off Solex's entire morning, his slight movement but silence hinting at that hidden truth. On that same note, she didn't know how the male was going to react. She knew full well what game she was playing, what her gesture insinuated, where the thin ice she trod on would break. Even if her metaphorical ice didn't break, there were always more weak spots, more pressure points she could hit until he inevitably snapped. While the hulking male was lost somewhere in his thoughts, the monoptical bitch took the opportunity to actually look at the Salutary she had decided to pursue for some reason. It was almost enough that he was perpetually annoyed by her, it only gave her more pleasure when he finally broke out of his silent spells to snap at her, but now the she-wolf had stepped out onto a tightrope, and if she were to fall she may as well actually look at who for. He was tall, naturally, she had known that already. Her neck was beginning to develop a crick from looking up to his face to constantly pester him. Silver eyes most often held boredom and bitterness, with the notable exception of the present time while he was lost somewhere inside his own head. Scars of varying sizes lay hidden by inky fur, only the largest of the plethora providing any hints on the outside of his pelt. Trailing her mint gaze back up his face, she watched as his eyes regained focus, trained on her. The film of bitter annoyance she was so used to seeing had evaporated, replaced by something she had never seen within the male's eyes before. It was as if she had breathed some form of life back into him, fitting for both her action and jab. His eyes held something akin to hunger, not like a starved rogue seeing meat for the first time, but more like a wolf addicted to poppy seeds who was cut off. A restrained need hiding within silence. The bitchy hunter remained seated as Solex rose, watching intently to see what the Salutary would do. Just walking away was a huge possibility, but also a win. It would show that she had hit just the right button to make him tick, just the right action for her to utilise over and over again until he responded. Instead, within a second she found herself bowled over, trapped beneath a gargantuan midnight frame. The same spark that Solex had held within his eyes now lit up her own, the game truly getting underway now. A low satisfied growl rumbled out of her chest, the female not putting up a fight despite hating being pinned down. Warm breath on her own neck juxtaposed the snow underneath her back, a whisper condensing on her, "Oh don't worry sweetheart. I'm still alive. Although I'm wondering why you care?" His chuckle, whether it had been genuine or all a part of the game they were playing, was one of the first times she had heard the brooding male laugh. And just like that, the tightrope had begun to lose its hold; the ice began to melt underneath her paws. Shamelessly, the hunter drank in his scent as a chaste nip was inflicted onto her neck before the warmth above her disappeared, returning to where he had sat before. The entire interaction had only taken seconds. Unless someone was specifically watching the pair of wolves, they would have missed it. Keeping her singular twinkling eye on the Salutary, Aspen took her sweet time pushing herself back up next to Solex. She stared at him for a few seconds, one mint eye lit up with a blaze as she let the waters settle before her next turn. Her shoulder pressed into his, leaning a good portion of her weight onto him as she stretched her muzzle upwards. Pressing her muzzle behind his ear, the hunter let silence linger for a few seconds longer before almost purring out, "Baby, don't you know it's more fun to hunt something... alive? No use chasing something dead." This time, instead of moving away, the alabaster bitch left her head resting against the Salutary's neck, teeth reaching out once more to pull at the skin behind his ears, lingering longer than they had before, a small constant reminder or her presence. It seemed that the game was afoot, and both of them were too stubborn to tap out any time soon. OOC: Changed Aspen's eye colour to mintSalutary Solex

A strange realization had his Dis this afternoon. Generations were passing in Ferus, though she quite felt she stood still in the middle of it all. She had joined Ferus when Thatcher was at his prime, making a revival of the pack. Myth, Ram, and many others long gone had been there. She still remembered the training of all the new members, remembered the preparation for war that had been so long going, the actual war and the deaths of her fellow pack members. The death of Thatcher, Jay becoming alpha, the more recent incident with the mystery at the borders, and Jay and Semira uniting, and now an entire new generation, the alpha pair's pups, wandered the grounds. It was quite alien to see pups in Ferus, as this had never really been the usual before, and even before she was in Ferus, Dis had never had any interaction with the young whelps. With a cool sanguine gaze and cocked brow, she watches the commotion they make, envisioning a life alien to her. A life where she herself has pups (though the thought of going through birth alone and the pregnancy process deters her enough), where she has to act as a mother. Feeding them, caring for them (yet another alien concept for the white and silver wolf), and teaching them things about life. Dis almost shuddered, it was such a weird scenario to imagine herself in. All she had ever been was at first, a rogue in a family, then a pack member who simply carried out her duties without question and rode through the timeline of the pack.
It was kind of funny how repetitive her daily life was but how contrary it was on the yearly timeline, with many twists and turns happening, keeping life in the pack on its toes. She never grew bored of it. Then again, she never knew of anything fun to make comparison with. The she-wolf sometimes grew wondered however, if she would become a forgotten member of the pack. The wolf who was there but not doing anything outspoken or significant. Just sort of a standard. She didn't know whether she liked the thought or it made her sad. These days, she was back to being a sort of blank slate with emotion, her mind trained back to that military sort of strictness. None of these thoughts, none of those, none entered her mind.
The female takes a break from observing the pack life to stretch, curving her back and pushing her ribs to the floor, then pushing her shoulders towards the sky and her pelvis forward from her ankles, getting out all the kinks from her back from sleeping on cold, hard-packed dirt. After she is satisfied, she settles back into her warm spot she had made on the ground, glad it had not cooled while she took her stretch break.

Peace. Achieved in very few places, but the true peace for Ilyah was succesfully felt only on their den, cuddled among the warm bodies of his brothers and sisters, and of course, their mother. Born a heavy-sleeper, the she pup was practically oblivious to most sounds around her den, hell, good part of the snores coming from the litter as a collective, came from her own mouth. At some point of her blisful mindfulness though, around the time when she could really feel the sunshine across her entire body, something pressed against her head, something small. A paw, of course.
Half asleep, opening one eye partially, Iylah could fully recognize one of her sisters, Aislynn. Despite being generally rude uncaring, most of the times on an angry kind of mood, the little one liked Aislynn. They were sisters after all, they had to watch each other's backs. Despite the kick that she got moments earlier, the she-pup still could not find the will to get up from her comfy position and the warmth of the den, so she faded away into the dreamland not soon after her initial wake.
Her rest didn't last, however. A painful, sharp pain felt on the tip of tail which made the brown she-wolf jump out of unconciousness and face-first into the snow. Getting back onto her feet, Iylah turned miserably, expecting the obvious. "Morning. We'll be exploring today". Of course, Aislynn. At least she said good morning this time around. "That hurted! A lot, Aislynn!"
Licking the zone where she had been bit, Iylah, still with snow dangling from her head asked. "Where are we going, sis?"

OMEGA LLUISE OF FERUS
Lluise flicked an ivory ear as she listened to the sounds. Her spot she had picked out proved a brilliant plan. The slope of the terrain, mixed with the strong roots of the old tree stump proved to be a solid den away from the elements. Then the stump itself allowed her to lounge just outside her entrance and not get snowed on, as the angle gave a slight overhang to the entrance. Letting out a yawn, pearly whites poking through and a salmon tongue stretching, she let it close with a sharp click.
Lluise had become bored with her group. Not to say she wanted to leave, but because everyone knew her tricks. Her sweet words held nothing here. Her lies would, no, could not stick. And what irritated her more was her rank. Still, after so many months being here, she remained omega.
Blanching at her thoughts she rose. Her morning was ruined, time to do shit. She guessed. Huffing to herself, she spotted the Salutary and the cyclops practically getting it on. She chuckled, quietly of course. While those knew of her ways, she still tried to keep the appearance of her innocence. As she passed by the Alpha’s den, she heard tiny squeaks. The pups were whelped weeks ago and the sounds were so cute, she could practically eat them up.
She broke into a bright smile at that thought. How would pups daste? She heard to some they were a delicacy. Letting out a tiny, bell like laugh, she quieted down. Stopping far out of the common grounds. Although, while she joked with herself, she did have morals. Oh, the lines she drew were for her and for her only. Smiling sweetly, she faced the opening and wondered what would be on their to do list. Perhaps, sparring?
After that incident months ago, before the cold hit, they did say they would declare war on this enemy, didn’t they? They were going to take revenge, make sure they were not left with idea that Ferus was weak. No. Ferus was not weak. This enemy would burn.
Tilting her head to the side, her mind shifted to think about possible ways she could use this to gain an advantage. Perhaps she can offer to be a spy, infiltrate and bring back critical information. However, that would place her at risk. In her opinion, this option risk outweighed reward.
Another possibility was to scout and convince a wolf to share information? Pretend to be a helpless rogue who needs to find a safe place? She could even have another wolf be on guard in case things got sour. Possibilities. Although, would a pack as strong as this one, to have taken down some of Ferus’s members, leave weak minded wolves to guard and mark their borders?
Humming to herself as she thought, she tried to outwardly appear sweet and bored, cute and childish. Keeping up her usual appearance, as usual. Flicking an ear, she knew that it would take a while before the Alpha's showed themselves. At least, to her it would feel like an eternity. Moving she walked to the borders to scavenge.

For a few brief seconds, breakfast was peaceful. Aislynn seemed to ignore her presence for the first moments of her feeding, but it was soon clear that her ornery sibling was not happy with her presence. It was as if the den had a chill run through it. Maybe it was just the weather outside, winter was getting pretty cold. The second born pulled away from their mother with such disdain for Tikaani's presence that a pang of guilt struck through the third born's system. Why did it seem like her sister didn't like her all that much? She hadn't done anything wrong! She only wanted to make sure that everyone was happy and safe, but Aislynn seemed to have the opposite plan. Her fun was all aggressive and mean, not the gentle playtime that Tikaani wanted at all! Speaking of which, finally finishing her breakfast, Tikaani turned around to see her elder sister's teeth in Iylah's tail, the younger pup leaping out of slumber and into the snow. The second eldest cringed at the violence. No one needed to wake up that way! It was just cruel! Even though Iylah seemed to bounce back almost immediately, Tikaani was still disturbed by the incident. Trotting with purpose up to her mother's head, she announced quietly, "Mommy, Aislynn bit Iylah!" WIth a small huff, the pup sat by her mom's head, looking at the most troublesome pup as she tried to go on whatever adventure she had mentioned when she had bitten Iylah. It just was so mean! She was almost begging to get in trouble! @aislynn Scout Iylah Alphess Semira Hunter Natsu @miyu @ezikeal @rizeal Alpha Jay
