It was with a heavy heart that Nereus watched the two newly acquainted and friendly wolves leave. As much as he wanted to follow one or the other, they were going directions that he himself had not planned to. He longed for a friend to journey with him as he missed his family. He went back to his little sloppily made den, and went to sleep.
The next day Nereus got up and decided to change directions. He knew that there were mountains the direction he was heading, he didn’t feel like having another comforting feeling wash over him so soon. It brings his guard down. His mother would always scold him if he ever dropped his guard. He decided to head West. The further he got through the pines, the warmer it seemed to get. Soon Nereus was feeling a slight breeze, he must be getting closer to the edge of the woods. He decided to trot the rest of the way, he was starting to tire of all the mud. Nereus finally reached the outer line of trees. What he saw before him was very similar to his mountainous home, but it was hot, much hotter than he was used to. Nereus found a source of water and a nearby tree, made another make-shift den, and decided that he would go exploring the new region in the morning.

Breezy hesitated. What was the harm, Katsumi already seemed open to joined the Sorelus pack. Breezy glanced at her friends and made her way over to where Azrath was now, talking to another wolf. She dipped her head to the scout and said, "Yes I believe we will follow you to your pack." She looked over at Atlas who looked frozen in fear. She gently placed her tail on Atlas's shoulder, reassuring him. "Katsumi let's go, we gotta try to make it into a pack. It'll be good for all of us," Breezy murmurs, realizing she's talking to herself more than them. She looks up to Azrath, ready to began the long trek to Sorelus. Anxiety digs it's way into Breezy, she shouldn't be nervous about this, she's going with him. The one male she likes, but there would also be more females there. Breezy shook her fur out, trying to lose the thought. He wasn't hers in the first place. Breezy glances at Katsumi, wishing just for once his gaze would soften when looking at her. "Taliaia."Azrath whipped around at her words, snow colored eyes narrowed as irritation stirring strongly in his belly. That was not the way he wished Sorelus be portrayed, and that was definitely not the way he had welcomed her into the group, the least he could assume would be that she return the favor to others. "We do not speak to others like that while you are in my group. I will not have Sorelus portrayed in such a way. We are here to recruit those who wish to join us, not to take offense to others reacting to our defensive stances." He motioned to her raised hackles and stony voice. The brute was not typically one to chide unless it were Simon, but in this instance, anyone associated with him could make or break their entire operation. The last thing he wanted was for Sorelus to miss out on potential new blood because of those they decided to associate themselves with. Looking back to the group ahead of them, Azrath flattened his ears. "Forgive my companion's outburst. Surely you're on edge for a reason. I wish merely to help and to be on our way if you're not interested in joining our ranks. I should have approached slower. I know how things can be in this area. Not everyone is friendly. But I assure you, I'm worried for the wellbeing of your friend. We are not here to fight." Mace's voice rung out after the ordeal, praising him for going out of his way to help another he didn't know. Azrath nodded gratefully towards the older wolf, appreciative of his kind words. "Thank you." The massive male swung his head back to the pitch colored wolf in front of him, awaiting his answer on whether they would like help or not, now that he made his intentions known and had shown he would not tolerate rudeness within his ranks. Post by Kidah on Sept 7, 2019 22:25:14 GMT -8
The orangish-black pelted lady padded through the woods, her honey-glazed eyes staring off into the distance, never blinking. While her siblings were snoozing away to replenish their energy, Kidah had decidedly headed out of their makeshift den to bring back lunch. They had been travelling for months aimlessly, and with every paw, Kidah felt her last memories with her parents fading away. And while her heart ached, she had no tears left for the past. The petite wolf swiftly made her weaved her way through the the tall, conical-shaped pine trees that stood like tiny mountains. The air surrounding her was moist and thick, with the fresh scent of pine which filled Kidah's lungs. Shifting her paws in the squishy mud beneath, she pressed her muzzle to the ground, hoping to pick up any trail that was left behind by potential kills. Kidah felt a soft, satisfied smile reach her snout, as she wagged her tail a little. The area was teeming of raccoons and squirrels, and it was fortunate that they had chosen to stay here the day before. While she was ready to follow a track which led to a juicy raccoon, some scents stood out to her. Wolves? There were other wolves here? It wasn't just one, but two, three, four, and even more. Of course, they could be dangerous, but how could Kidah stop herself from looking for them? Before she knew it, the adventurous one had already begun darting through the woods, not caring if the pine needles brushed against her fur or if the mud splashed all over her. She wanted to find them, the longing to socialise with other wolves besides her two brothers. We are not here to fight." Joining ranks, as one had said.Kidah felt a rush of even more excitement in her. A pack! If the trio could join the pack too, they would be much safer! Curiosity got the better of her and she emerged from behind the branches of a tree to find a group of wolves gathered together. Kidah looked wilder than ever, and as soon as she realised that, she quickly tugged her tail between her legs. Awkwardly, she slowly approached them. "Oh, uhm, sorry!" she hooted, maybe a little too enthusiastically. "I'm-I'm Kidah," she tipped her head politely. "I was wondering if maybe I could join all of you too." And perhaps, Dogma and Aven too.Taliaia Mace Rey Kylo @shikoba Breezy Katsumi @joy Scout Azrath @simonn

Comments: Not my best post ;-;
The wolf spoke with promising words in relation to his questions, seemingly genuine and pure. He did not look at Katsu like he was a hybrid, and he spoke as though his pack were similar. A slight smile to this news quickly merged into a disappointed frown as the brute continued, however. While healing was his passion, his only muse, the position was quite full, in relation to the size of their pack anyways. He imagined he would get turned away if he tried to "help" in his free time, and he didn't want to intrude on the job of an apprentice. On the contrary, Katsumi imagined he would still try to squeeze his way into the herbal work somehow, if this pack found he was of use.
At ease, the ivory brutes figure settled as he welcomed them all to join their patrol, and eventually be presented before their alpha, Rowan. It wasn't hard for Katsumi to hide his excitement, though his hazel eyes still shown brightly with intent. If he controlled himself, and presented any sort of quality Sorelus could utilize, he really might stand a chance at a new life, back in a pack where he believed he belonged naturally. While his conformation wouldn't exactly fit, he would work to the bone to prove anyone he was anything but a mutt. On top of that, this pack was housed within the mountains, and he would be personally escorted into them because of their treachery. That had to realistically suggest that this pack had little to no competition from any other pack, and he may be safe from hurting himself or those in the pack due to his genes.
Lost in rationale thought, the wolf-dog failed to catch up on a few others that had curiously shown. Just as Azrath's form began dissipating, his attention snapped back to reality. Katsu trotted after the male, taking the lead in front of this two acquaintances before coming to a halt behind the white wolf. He spoke calmly to a larger band of rogues before being interrupted by some she-wolfs ignorant comment. The rogues appeared a little threatened, but not necessarily up for a fight. One of them was wounded, along with that. Katsumi rested patiently on his haunches, curious as to how his fellow rogues may act in the presence of wandering pack wolves. If they were to attempt an assault, Katsu watched diligently and would jump protect these wolves immediately. It probably wouldn't have been his first instinct if they were rogues as well, but they were giving him a chance, and that's all he could ask for.

Waking up from her nap, Tempest sniffed the air just to make sure there were no animals that could threaten her. The same scent from the wolves earlier was the only smell in the air. The black female stood up and gave her legs a stretch only to sit back down. She gently rustled the pine needles under her paws, her head hanging in boredom. Suddenly an idea popped into her head, not the best idea she had thought. She thought ' Instead of me sitting here and wasting time, I think I should just meet the group of the wolves I saw earlier and perhaps even ask to join them to get into the pack, then I'll probably leave them.' She got up and shook head in disbelief that she is willingly going to talk to someone. With each slow and cautious step, Tempest has reached the crowd, not as many wolves as she thought there would've been. She saw a young brown-ish orange she-wolf approach the crowd and say in a loud squeaky voice, " Oh, uhm, sorry!" she said quite loudly, but unconfidently. " I'm-I'm Kidah," she dipped her head to show some respect, " I was wondering if maybe I could join all of you too." Tempest perked her ears, she didn't feel comfortable talking with others but she just thought' Screw it!' and began slowly trotting towards Kidah and the others. " Hello everyone, my name is Tempest." She mentally rolled her eyes, she was never this formal with anyone for a while. She tipped her head to the floor, to show some 'respect' to the group. She visibly cringed at doing so, usually, it was the others who would dip their heads not her. "Like Kidah here, I was wondering if I could perhaps join your little group and then perhaps get into the Sorelus pack?" She gave them all her warmest forced smile and started to examine everyone. She saw a grey female, she had some white and black on her coat too, her eyes were a warm brown colour. Her eyes then skipped to a male wolf, he was pretty big compared to her, his fur was brown with a pair of lavender eyes. There was another cream coloured female, who looked pretty skinny, probably from not consuming enough food. She had a pair of brown orbs. She noticed more wolves and just couldn't be bothered to examine every single feature of them. She was now getting more uncomfortable, in her mind she was thinking of going back, but then it would seem as if she was showing weakness by turning her back on the group. Taking a deep breath and digging her claws into he ground she looked from wolf to wolf.

Valeria felt a rush of sensations as she rounded the clearing and caught sight of the other wolves before her. Ever since she had arrived in this territory, her heart rate had sped up at the anticipation of encountering other rogues like herself. The ash gray and white female had been alone for several months, with little interaction with other wolves. She was coping fine with the solitude, and in some ways there was an ease and lightness to roaming alone, but as the voices of these other wolves echoed between the trees, Valeria felt a spark of excitement she hadn't experienced in weeks.
The medium-sized she-wolf walked swiftly into the unfolding scene. She paused about fifty feet away from the gathering of wolves, and lifted one paw hesitantly. She was young, barely two years old, and uncertain about what the appropriate customs were here in this territory. She realized that one of the other females, Tempest, had just spoken and anxiety pierced her lungs. Valeria didn't want to be rude and talk over her, but she was so excited to interact with peers again that words began to tumble out of her mouth before she could consider the appropriate etiquette. "Hello," she called out from her awkward distance away. "Is it alright if I join your conversation? I have a few questions about where I am and..."
Her voice trailed off. And what? She wasn't sure what more she wanted to say, and it had been so long since she'd spoken with another wolf that the sound of her own voice surprised her. She teetered anxiously at the distance she'd established, waiting for one of the other wolves to acknowledge her before she fully approached them.

When life gives you lemons.. You need to freeze them and throw them back as hard as possible.

Post by Taliaia on Sept 23, 2019 10:40:46 GMT -8
She was being verbally attacked. Or at least that is how it felt anyways...
A small gasp would be hidden with a sad attempt of a growl as both wolves from both groups finished threatening and scolding her for the overly defensive behaviour, her paw-steps subconsciously making their way backwards and a few mouse lengths away from the group. A look of disbelief crossing her features momentarily at the slight stupidity of their reactions.
I wasn’t the one who threw the first growl of hostility.. I was trying to defend you no-brainers!
With that thought in mind, she sent a pointed glare at the brute whom she’d perceived as a threat, before turning her attention back to Mace and Azrath, “ I might be a lot smaller than most of you, but that does not make me weak, neither does it mean I am some pup to tell off for being defensive.” Her voice dripping with slight venom as she aimed the last part of her sentence towards Azrath. This time, she was able to turn abruptly and walk away with purpose from the group. Her pace monstrous as she stalked towards a nearby tree with her back turned. Personally shunning them and a few sudden newcomers from her view as she sat and waited for them to finish socializing to their hearts content.
Unfortunately she could not leave these wolves, but she had the freedom to attempt to ignore and not talk at all for the time being. Her flare up of anger finally dimming to a slight simmer from both hunger, exhaustion and the feeling of being told she was wrong. Though deep down she knew that parts of it rung true. She could have handled that better..

OOC:I hope y'all don't mind me butting in, I am merely joining the bandwagon lol. You can ignore this post if you feel you have too many wolves interested.
Priroda hated the mud. It was sticky, and slimy, and was oh so hard to clean out of her fur. But as dirty as this place was, it had the best prey. So she stuck around here. It would all be worth it in the end. So she told herself. In reality, she wanted nothing more than to leave this blasted place. But she forced herself to stay.
As she continued on her way, she couldn't help but notice a very large group of wolves. What was going on over there? This wasn't pack territory! Was a new pack claiming this location for themselves? They couldn't be! She stormed up to the group, only to hear bits of their conversation. A pack had come to recruit? Now that, she was interested in. She had heard of Sorelus before, but did not know much of them, same way with the other packs.
"So, Sorelus is recruiting? I might be tempted to join you all as well, if you don't mind, that is."

Aurora jumped to her paws in suprise her tail going crazy.Incidentally flinging mud all over the place. "Miss Joy!" Aurora barreled towards the she-wolf excitedly. "How are you?" She said before spinning in three complete circles and sitting down on her own tail. Her once white coat gleamed with wet mud and grime and she tilted her head to the side to look at Joy her ears flopping over as well. Then she started to have a sneeze attack from her sudden movements and her ears fell in embarrassment. "Sorry about that, I am messy but normally I am smarter about it" She looked up at the she wolf in undisguised admiration.

Taliaia's outburst had been less than desirable but Azrath sent a silent thank you as the reaction prompted just what he wanted as Taliaia had turned her back and strode off away from the groups. Having two aggressors on either side was a surefire way to start a fight and that was the last thing he needed, especially since Joy was unsatisfied with his reaction to Katsumi, Breezy and Atlas. Kylo's stance was unwavering in front of his friends and made it clear that their presence was definitely not appreciated nor wanted, especially with such a large group that was still growing. The brute decided it was time to take their leave. With a nod towards the Mace, the only one who did not seem perturbed by their presence, Azrath finally turned to the others who were not so friendly. "I can see our intentions were not well received and that they are unwanted. I believe it is time we leave. Farewell, Mace...and company." He spoke softly before turning his back and taking a head count. Katsumi, Breezy, Atlas, Eira, Kidah, Tempest, Valeria, and Priroda stood behind him, witnessing his feeble fumbling with social interraction and he felt heat rise in his fur, but he shook it away. "Alright, all. Those who wish to try their luck in joining our ranks, please follow me." He commanded, also tossing a slightly louder "Your invitation still stands, Taliaia. Though I'd be careful with that temper." the scout joked with a wink before scanning the area to find Joy. Thanks to his height, he could easily see over his companions to see she was still with the pup she had split off originally for and made his way to her. Azrath looked down at the pup, covered with dirt and grime, a small pang throbbing in his chest. Aurora looked up to Joy with unadulterated joy, happy to have found her friend again and he had flashbacks of when he was a pup too, Rowan taking him into their ranks without a second thought. He would no doubt do the same for this pup.
"Joy, I believe it's time to go," he spoke softly as a raindrop fell onto his nose, causing him to blink before carrying on. "it's starting to rain and I think we've got a good few for Rowan to pick from." The scout lowered his body to look at Aurora so his figure wasn't quite so intimidating. "Please come with us, we'll get you cleaned up and fed in no time." A smile spread onto his maw as his tail wagged slowly before he raised himself up and started on his way to the commons.

Valeria's countenance spiraled through a dozen expressions as she listened to the bleached-white male address the gathering of rogues. He spoke with the most confidence out of all of them, and yet, seemed anxious to end the interactions and get on with things. She peered around at the other wolves before her, all interested and intent on joining a pack. Was that what she wanted? Valeria's brow furrowed -- yes, but how could she know that this particular pack was the right one? She had only just arrived moments before, and still had so many questions...
As the young she-wolf watched the Sorelus pack members retreating to their territory, she knew she had no time to ask questions or debate. Usually troubled by decision making, Valeria gripped her claws anxiously into the dirt beneath her. Young, inexperienced, unsure of herself... why would a pack with so many options for members choose her anyway? Her heart sunk into the cobwebs of her ribs as she questioned her own self-worth.
Was she even invited? She had missed most of the discussion that occurred before the pack wolf invited the crowd back to their land. I suppose if they don't want me... they'll just send me back here anyway... The silvery-white she-wolf took a deep breath, followed by a quick leap in the direction the other wolves were treading. She would step outside of her comfort zone, and at least try.
"Thank you for the invitation!" she cried out softly as she trotted quickly to catch up, and began following Azrath toward the Sorelus commons--at a cautious distance behind.

Red and white eyes watched as the white and black male before him addressed the hostility of the situation and corrected the rogue female who had been aggressive in the first place. His hackles seemed to relax as he watched her turn away and sit with her back to them, yet she had the nerve to call he and his companions viscous chipmunks. That one was a childish pup, one that had a tendency to bite off more than she could chew, both figuratively and literally. The Yukon wouldn't concern himself with her any longer, it was dealt with quite maturely by Azrath, though he knew she would be a paw-ful or two for whatever pack she was to join with that kind of attitude, but there was reason certain wolves were chosen for recruitment while others were left in pack territory. As he took his leave, referring to them as Mace and Co, Kylo's eyes narrowed somewhat but he did not lash out, wanting to be rid of these pack wolves and their collective group of rogues already. As the white male turned to make his leave, calling to the other Rogues, Kylo turned his attention back to Hux and Shikoba, then to Mace before resting his eyes upon Rey, she was the main reason he hadn't initiated a fight upon being blatantly challenged and disrespected. "Glad that's over with." he spoke frankly before beginning to realize Hux and Shikoba had their own plans, Shikoba having her own schedule she always mentioned, Kylo did not have fond memories of being in a pack, he was a weapon..a weapon that was used to take lives. With all her teachings of peace and balance he wondered if Rey could shed some light on his trauma, heal his wounds that he could never seem to suture. Whenever she decided where she would go next he would try to go with her, perhaps meet up with Hux and Shikoba again, but for now, his goals did not align with theirs, he didn't think it fair to weigh them down, he had already disrupted their current course enough.

Priroda nodded. Thank goodness she was accepted. Or at the very least, given the chance to be. It came to no surprise that she would have to prove her worth to the pack, any sensible pack would need to be the same way. But atleast she was given the opportunity. It was easy work from there. Although then again, her size may be a bit worrisome, considering that could be a weakness.
She padded along, following the crowd of leaving wolves. With luck, they will see capability in size. And see beyond her.....personality. But hey, she was going to get out of the mud either way atleast.

Comments: Sorry, this post sucks
For the first time in a long time, his caramel tail flagged happily in response to Azrath's invitation. While this was in no way an acceptance, he was equally being given a chance alongside the many other rogues that had shown up. There area was now dotted with various figures of all shapes, sizes, and ages, it seemed. The while female Katsumi had encountered a day or two ago was back, and finally on a better track in life rather than hiding away from everything. She was certainly too young to fend for herself alone. A bright gleam lit his face as the group got into rhythm of a steady pace behind the Sorelus wolves, sharing content glances between Breezy and Atlas. The wolf-dog made sure to stay at their side this time, utilizing them as the only wolves here that could ease his mind. He still vaguely guarded himself, watching for harsh stares or directed exchanges of words between the other rogues. He wasn't sure who would be on his side here if he was put down for his unique heritage, besides, as he hoped, his two companions. As they marched through the disgusting terrain, Katsu would gladly converse to pass the time. Meanwhile, as they neared the territory, fear would form a knot inside his throat once more.
