Karasu shook her furry tail, her large form shivering with anticipation at the thought of joining this pack. "Food? That sounds nice." The russet female agreed, turning to follow the male as he left, presumably to the pack's home base. She was excited, and followed readily at the large male's side. She could smell a connection between him and the other female that had confronted them kindly before, and she felt a sense of longing. Hopefully soon a friend would be in her future. Hunger gnawed dully at the russet female's stomach, and she ignored it, ready more for her new role. She wondered what they would do with her in the pack, and began to prepare herself to impress them, hoping that her knack for catching small prey wouldn't fail her this time. -Exit outskirts, onward to commons- AzaeliaOmega Vespen General Ocean

ROGUE VESPEN
Vespen couldn’t help but smile at the shaky thing that joined the three of them. She seemed a little shy and uncertain, which was normal. At least, Vespen thought this rogue’s actions were normal. Although, she did seem a little new to the way pack wolves acted. But that would be learned in time, not everyone was born in a pack or grew up with one. Vespen was lucky enough to grow up with such a large family, not many got the privilege of knowing all of their siblings outside of their littermates.
"You must be hungry, We will head to the commons first and prepare a hunt. Come, it will be dark soon." Vespen gave a nod in confirmation, she was indeed hungry. The thought of a fresh kill had her mouth watering but she hid her hungry gaze well with a kind smile. Grateful she was towards the duo for taking her in. Looking at the sky at the mention of darkness, she saw clouds that hid the stars.
Rose eyes returned to the group as they moved out. The rogue seemed eager to follow a small giggle leaving pink lips. Vespen had to remind herself that she was also, technically, a rogue. White paws moved forward, blending in with the snow.
Walking next to the elder female, she realized she didn’t have a name to call her. Speaking softly, “My apologies, but what may I call you?”

Jolon looked about the terrain as he walked, legs weary and aching, paw pads close to bleeding, the large male had never had any issues with traveling long distances, but lately it seemed all he could do was keep on walking. He had gotten into a scrape with a cougar not too long ago and had only just barely managed to get away, and since then he hadn't stopped for more than an hour or two at a time, worried about getting into another situation he might not be able to get out of. The silver-furred male was due for another stop now though, he was wary about this place though, there were so many unfamiliar scents about he couldn't keep track of them all. Jolon only got farther and farther away from his pack every day, his family, he had been travelling alone for four months and what he really needed was someone to talk to, the loneliness was driving him crazy, a pack would be great, but he figured that was asking a bit too much. Jolon walked on for a few more minutes, head hanging lower and lower every second, eyes scanning about, until he found a nice place to stop and the male huffed as he basically fell to the ground., and he curled up tightly, fluffy tail covering his nose, and closed his eyes, sleep immediately taking him in its grasp.

During his travels with the large group of rogues, Corvidae had branched off. Though the valley that Astro had spoken of sounded beautiful, Cori just couldn't allow himself to go. If he did, he would need to find a way to get to an alder tree on a near weekly basis so that his teeth didn't hurt too much. It wasn't an easy decision, but he had decided to bid Astro, Knox, Noone, Kebechet, Spirit, Astoria, and everyone who's names he couldn't quite remember a goodbye in good spirits. On his journey to his current whereabouts, he had torn another large strip of bark from a familiar alder tree, the bark allowing him to carry on without too much pain. The only stone he currently held in his mouth was the lovely pink stone gifted to him by Kebechet. The typical grey pebbles that usually occupied his mouth were left along his journey. He found that just the sea-smoothed stone was enough to satisfy his compulsions. It lost it's salty flavour long ago, but as he had told Knox, it wasn't the taste that made him carry the rocks, it was his crippling irrational fear that he would never find food again if the stones left his maw for too long. Along his route, the sediment of many terrains, including this one, had passed through his claws as he scraped at it, blunting the claws on his right forepaw considerably on the rocky terrain approaching the valley before he departed. But he was here now, and there was more to explore. He was no fool, the scent of a pack was prevalent here. He didn't travel far into their territory, but his desire for companionship pushed him to the borders. He wasn't alone out here, another rogues scent wove through the edge of the pack. Almost automatically, Cori followed the scent, looking forward to meeting the wolf he could potentially be packmates, or even just friends if they were both turned away, with. The scent of dried blood clung to the rogue's scent as well, pushing Cori to be a little faster in his approach. However, his tail pulled him away, a jutting lump of snow likely hiding a felled tree being its target. Mismatched cobalt and obsidian eyes flicked nervously between the lump and the direction of the wolf, knowing that if he didn't approach the wolf that they could be in danger but also knowing that if he didn't make sure the lump was safe it could hurt him. As it always did, the compulsion won and the large piebald male trailed over to the concealed stump. After clearing a bit of snow off of the dead tree, Cori's tail smacked against it three times, a completely unreliable measurement of whether or not something was truly safe but it was enough for the compulsion to fade into the back of his mind. Soon enough it would likely rear its ugly head and strike him again, but for now, he was fine. Back on track to find his fellow rogue, Cori marched forth, his happy-go-lucky personality shining through his jolly steps. With a flap of bark firmly clenched between worn teeth and a rosy stone hidden behind the same faded barriers, Cori's first impression wasn't always that great with others, but he held hope that his personality would shine through. The rogue was easier to spot with his untreated injuries. Such a pristinely white pelt blended in so well with the snow apart from ugly red streaks. With all the snow, Cori sifted through his brain, trying to remember anything that could help his fellow rogue that could be found in such harsh weather. He doubted that he needed to relieve the pain of a toothache any time soon. Marigold wouldn't do, their flowers wouldn't bloom until spring. Burdock or horsetail were his best options, so he set out to find them. Placing his bark down a few meters away from the sleeping male, Cori scouted the surrounding area, his nose pressed into the snow searching for the telltale scent of hidden burdock while his odd gaze scanned the snowy landscape for any signs of the reed-like plant he was searching for. The tops of some browned horsetail caught his eyes first, his now snowy muzzle bursting into a grin as he trotted over to the plants. They wouldn't be nearly as potent now that they were dead, but it would work well enough. Shifting the stone into his cheeks, the apprentice salutary snipped a few stalks of the herb off. Making his way back to the anonymous rogue, Cori resisted the urge to chew the stalks immediately. He didn't want his stone getting caught up in the poultice. Dropping the pearly mineral deposit onto his bark flap, he started to chew the stringy herb between his blunted teeth. Mashing up the stalks, Cori nudged the sleepy rogue, his mouth full and unable to formally introduce himself. Probably a bad idea looking back on it, but he wanted to help before he thought of telling the fellow rogue who he was. Nudging the male gently with his paw, Cori hoped that the paste coming out of his mouth didn't make him look rabid or diseased or anything. He was only trying to help. Through the thick paste, Cori managed to get out, "Its a poultice, for your wounds." It was muffled sure, but smearing some of the poultice onto his paw freed up some space in his mouth. Looking to the male for permission and seeing it granted, Cori smeared the off-colour paste against the slashed on the male's side. He knew it was probably a bit disrespectful to use the pack's herbs, but it was better to prove helpful medically than useless. With the majority of the paste on the other male's injuries, Cori cleared the rest of the herb out of his mouth, the odd taste not familiar on his palette. Scooping his stone back into his mouth and placing a possessive paw onto the large peel of bark, Cori gave the male a smile, "Hi! My name's Corvidae but you can call me Cori if you'd like. I just put a quick horsetail poultice on your gashes, it'll keep them from getting infected. Sorry to wake you up but I figured I shouldn't just smear something on you without at least asking you first. What about you? Who are you?"@winchesterbrosinc Beta Violet

Jolon didn't wake up at the first few prods to his side, still exhausted from his travels, but eventually the male awoke, groggy and a bit incoherent, the stranger's presence was one of comfort as it came with the scent of medicinal herbs. Jolon himself wasn't a Salutary, but his mother had been particularly skilled at the craft, and smelling the herbs gave him a somewhat peace of mind, and set a smile on the silvery-white-furred male's muzzle. Eventually the big male came fully to his senses, eyes watching the wolf in front of him, a bit wary, but still thankful for the treatment, at the proposition of a question Jolon was quick to answer, "My name is Jolon, I came from way up North, it's nice to meet you Cori, I was starting to get a bit lonely out here all alone." Jolon looked at the paste the covered the small gashes from the cougar's claws and the big male set another pleasant smile to his muzzle as he looked back to Cori with bright eyes, "Wait here, okay? I'll be back in a few minutes," and with that the large wolf disappeared into the cover of snow and trees. Jolon scented the air, ears swiveling and eyes scanning, all senses on alert as he listened for the scrabbling of paws, or the light steps of an animal breaking through the thin layer of ice that rested on top of the snow. Tch that was all it took, the whisper of a crunch of snow and Jolon was zeroed in, as soon as he caught the first couple hints of sound, the scent came rushing towards him and more sounds of jumping about was quick to follow. The large male slowed as he neared the area in which the sound was coming from, the quick movement of white-gray fur caught just in the corner of his eye and Jolon was on the trail again, following the animal of his desires, a large, and surprisingly well-fed hare that had made the mistake of being a bit too close to a hungry wolf. Jolon watched the animal cautiously, circling around until he was down wind, and then he stalked closer, never taking his eyes off of his desired meal, and hopefully his thanks to the strange wolf who had helped him. The hare turned with a quick alerted jump towards Jolon and then turned once more in an attempt to escape, but Jolon was already racing off himself. The male's long legs propelled him forwards and he looked more like a bear than a wolf, his paws kicked up snow behind him as Jolon put his head down instinctively to get his top speed. However, speed wasn't the only thing he needed, Jolon had to anticipate, one wrong move and the hare would be gone, reading body language was essential and he saw the hare break for the left, but as soon as it did it immediately doubled back in the completely opposite direction, but Jolon had seen it, the hare hadn't put everything into his turn to the left and Jolon had guessed correctly, the animal hadn't intended to go that way in the first place. The hare tried to turn again in one last futile attempt, but Jolon had already secured the hare in his jaws, cracking through its neck bones like it was a twig. Jolon looked down at his catch dangling lifelessly from his jaws and his bright smile formed once more, as he yipped in excitement around the fur in his mouth. He rushed back the way he had come, eyes bright and glistening from the still pounding adrenaline, as he broke from the copse of trees he skidded to a halt in front of Cori, bouncing excitedly on his paws. Jolon dropped the hare at the other male's paws and continued to bounce in excitement, "For you! No better way to express gratitude than offering a meal, that's what my father always said." Jolon nudged the hare a bit closer to Cori waiting for the male's reply, never ceasing the excited puppy-like bouncing as if waiting for someone to tell him he had done a good job. Cori couldn't help but feel a bit bad that he woke the male up from his nap, he was obviously tired. That didn't seem to stop the other rogue form reciprocating his bright smile. "My name is Jolon, I came from way up North. It's nice to meet you, Cori, I was starting to get a bit lonely out here all alone," the puppy-like personality of the larger rogue shone through already. Cori was already excited to converse with the male, they seemed to share a positive outlook on life. A skinny black banner already began to waggle a little harder behind him at the mere thought. "Wait here, okay? I'll be back in a few minutes," Jolon began to depart, sending a sinking feeling into Cori's gut but he chose to ignore it. He said he would be right back, why would he have any reason to believe that he was lying? Giving Jolon a quick nod, the male watched as he disappeared away from the borders, further into rogue territory.
Left alone, Cori was granted some unneeded time to think. Jolon sure was nice. Usually, most wolves would hesitate after seeing a wolf so odd looking. Mismatched eyes, an odd pelt, a stone and strip of bark hanging from his mouth, an inexplicable need to tap things with his tail three times, it wasn't as if Cori was exactly normal. But Jolon didn't pause at all! He didn't stutter, didn't question, didn't even let his gaze linger too long on all the things potentially 'off' about Cori. What a great guy! Jolon was also considerably bigger than Cori. Even though they were pretty much the same height, his snowy frame was filled out with muscle while Cori's was boney and sinewy. He would definitely be able to get stronger if he stuck with Jolon.
Speak of the angel, the large form of his fellow rogue was barreling towards him from the trees, a limp carcass hanging from well-fed jaws. Jumping back to his paws, Cori's tail wagged rapidly behind him at the thought of food. It was plain to see that he needed to put a little more meat on his bones. Having painful, worn down teeth made it difficult for him to hunt larger prey, so he usually got by on hares like the one Jolon brought back. "For you! No better way to express gratitude than offering a meal, that's what my father always said," the excitable male peppered Cori with words. His stomach grumbled in appreciated for the meal placed before him, his primal side wanting him to devour the hare whole while his rational mind had other ideas.
"Man, I'd just love to down this all in one go, but I don't think it'd look too good having a pile of bones on the pack border. What if they thought we caught it in their territory? I'm so thankful that you brought me this, it looks so delicious, but what if we use it as a gift? Maybe it'll improve their opinion of us and we'll find more friends? Wait... would you consider us friends? We did only just meet... Maybe pre-friends! Nearly friends. Freinds-to-be?" Cori's train of thought derailed relatively quickly once the idea of friendship popped up. He hoped that he and Jolon at least had the buds of a friendship peeking through the snow. A secondary thought popped into the slightly herb inclined male's mind, a cobalt and ink gaze switching over to the other male's wounds, making sure that enough of the poultice was left smeared on the male's side so his wounds wouldn't get infected. Satisfied that there was definitely enough, his mismatched gaze slicked back to meet Jolon's, a bright smile on his face. Through his teeth the faintest hint of his stone was visible, the older male having tucked it into his cheek to talk. His paw still planted firmly on his bark, Cori could only hope that a pack wolf would find them soon.

Jolon listened to the male excited smile still on his face, at least until Cori said he wasn't going to eat the hare, then a look of sadness washed over Jolon's face and his excited tail wagging slowed, the puff of fur behind him drooping and his ears slowly laying back closer to his skull. Jolon did continue to listen though and as Cori explained the situation through completely Jolon slowly nodded his understanding, thinking of the benefits of having a pack that liked you rather than one who thought you stole their prey. That's when Jolon's bright smile returned and he nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah, I think that's a great idea Cori, if they think we are valuable, or that we have some skills they might be more inclined to accept us and like, and possibly inclined to allow us entry into the pack. You're a genius Cori! You a Salutary, and able to patch up wounds," Jolon paused mid-sentence and pointed with his muzzle to his no longer throbbing cougar wounds, "And, you can even find suitable herbs in the winter? I know that's hard to do, my mother used to complain about such things whenever the harshest cold came around, she never could seem to find the correct herbs for what she needed."
Jolon paused as his thoughts traveled back to the snowy white female, she was about the same weight as Jolon had been, but she was shorter and not nearly as long, and his father who was just a bit taller and longer, but who couldn't have matched up to Jolon in weight any day. Jolon shook himself out of his reminiscing as well as the snow out of his pelt as continued his conversation with Cori, "Friends though, I think that sounds absolutely...Fantastic!" Jolon's tail had started wagging a mile a minute, and the excitable male was beginning to bounce slightly again, everything in Jolon wanted to jump and howl and goof around, he wanted to let all of his excited energy out, but he couldn't, he didn't want to hurt the smaller wolf, for one, and two he had just met him, he didn't want to scare the only wolf he had talked to in four months away, he didn't want to be lonely again, so the giant held himself back. The more excited he got though the more he began to think and finally the silver male voiced his thought, "But, if we are only on the outskirts of their territory, how will they know we are here, Cori, do we just go sneaking through their territory looking for them, because honestly if that's the best plan we've got I worry for our health in the near future. If we just sit here and wait here, which is always a valid option, someone from their pack might not find us for days, possibly even weeks, unless we're lucky of course." As always Jolon was still smiling, that never stopped, the happy male never really let his smile fade, but he was beginning to get a worried look about his eyes, and his smile started to look a bit forced, not completely confident in their plan to get into the good graces of the pack that had claimed these lands as their own.Apprentice Corvidae

| | Snow had made itself at home on the empty tree limbs above her and along the pathes as well. The only indication that a pack lived here was the trodden paths that stood, snow packed down by many pawsteps coming to and from the borders. Having lived in Somnus for many years, she knew every trail, whether it be freshly covered in snow or not, like the back of her paw. She was taking her time, lost in her thoughts as she had come to a slower pace since leaving the commons. She didn't understand why she has so eagerly rushed away from her packmates, but something told her that she needed to come to the borders. There was something waiting here, or something that was pulling her here. She hadn't heard back from the wolf named Ashi that had once traveled the borders, her having treated him of a headache. The male, although handsome, seemed to have a disheveled nature, something that was not at all suited for pack life. She hoped that he had not died or been killed after being treated by her, but she knew that rogues were capable of handling themselves in the foreign world that lay beyond Somnus' borders. If he had survived as long as he said he did, then he would have no reason to die immediately after being seen at the Somnus borders. White paws hit the ground lightly, beautiful lavender eyes scanning the area around her as she brought herself to a stop, her nose lifting into the air as she took in the scents around her.
Looking over towards the west, Violet headed in that direction, looking to find maybe a silhouette or at least a hint of the wolves that she had caught the scent of. As she approached them, their voices were faint, talking among themselves as they waited at the borders. Her white pelt blended perfectly with the snow, and with her smaller stature, it would not be hard to miss her in the white scenery. Sneaking forward, her body was held in a dominant stance. Not that of an Alpha, but that of their right hand. Looking over the two with curious lavender eyes, she took a minute to look at the black wolf. He seemed rather peculiar, there was something about him that seemed to spark her interest in him. The other one seemed to be normal as could be, or at least she thought so. Clearing her throat, she would have their attention by now as lavender eyes looked at them.
"Hello, I couldn't help but notice you're standing at my borders, are you looking to join or are you simply passing through?" She asked, looking over them as she did so. She hadn't formally addressed anyone in awhile, but it felt nice to be empowered, standing and showing that she was the Beta of an amazing pack. | |

Jolon's back had been turned to the approaching Somnus beta, paying no mind to the noises of something moving about behind him, at least until he heard another wolf clearing their throat, then his ears perked up and he turned to look at her, curiosity filling his eyes. He listened attentively to the female as she questioned them, "Hello, I couldn't help but notice you're standing at my borders, are you looking to join or are you simply passing through?" Jolon stood stock still for a few moments, waiting to see if Corvidae would answer first until he realized the male wasn't prepared for questioning either, then Jolon licked his lips nervously and stepped forward a bit, clearing his own throat as he did.
Jolon found it hard to maintain eye contact with the female, but he did his best, occasionally looking down to the snow beneath her before returning to her eyes once again. Finally, the large male worked up the nerve to answer her, "Well, we were hoping to join your pack, we weren't quite sure of how your pack would respond, so we decided to wait here. My name's Jolon, I've been travelling for a while now, and this is Corvidae, he patched me up earlier, I had some nasty cougar wounds." The silver-furred male gave her a pleasant smile, as charming and innocent as ever because he could never be something different than that excited puppy-like wolf he always was. Jolon's face lit up even brighter as he remembered what Cori had said earlier about using the hare as a possible peace offering, "We come baring gifts as well, albeit small, but a nice meal nonetheless, food is always the way to another wolf's heart." Jolon turned around quickly, almost tripping over his own paws in his haste, before reaching down and grabbing the hare from earlier up in his jaws, the hare appeared small next to his big frame, but in reality it was surprisingly large to be going through the harsh winter season which always brought on food shortages. The male then took a few steps forward laying the hare down on the ground in-between them, releasing the meal from his powerful jaws slowly, gentle in every move he made, but the excitement was still obvious as his tail wagged behind him.
As he let go of the hare his eyes watched the stranger with caution still, despite his wagging tail and apparent excitement, Jolon wasn't stupid, he knew to be cautious, he had watched his own father chase away plenty of rogues. Jolon was looking for some kind of reaction from her, not sure how the female would react to being given the hare, before he remembered to added in, "I caught it on the rogue side of the border as well, so you don't have to worry about that, I promise." Jolon slowly backed away then until he was once more standing beside Cori, then he sat down never taking his eyes off of her as he waited for some kind of response from the obviously dominant female, what position she held in the pack Jolon couldn't tell, but according to her confident posture and raised tail it was fairly obvious she knew she was important. Jolon's tail continued wagging slowly behind him flicking the powdered snow about, the large silver male was powerless to stop the fluff that seemed intent on brushing snow onto Cori, no matter how much he tried, he just hoped his newfound friend wouldn't be upset at the cold substance's touch.

A concerned look grew onto Cori's face as he watched Jolon's obvious disappointment that he didn't eat the hare he worked so hard to catch, but his worries quickly melted away as the larger male's bouncy attitude returned. "Yeah, I think that's a great idea, Cori, if they think we are valuable, or that we have some skills they might be more inclined to accept us and like, and possibly inclined to allow us entry into the pack. You're a genius, Cori! You a Salutary, and able to patch up wounds! And you can even find suitable herbs in the winter? I know that's hard to do, my mother used to complain about such things whenever the harshest cold came around, she never could seem to find the correct herbs for what she needed," Jolon's excitement over something that just seemed logical to the older male just showed off his delightful personality more. How fun was someone who found joy in everything? Cori decided that evidently, the answer was extremely fun! As his injured companion agreed that indeed they were friends, Corvidae's tail whipped up a storm. A friend already! The rosy stone in his maw was a constant reminder of the wolves he left behind in search of more mouth numbing alder bark. It wasn't the trade he would have preferred to make, but if he wanted to be in any sort of comfort he needed the clacking of the stone against his ivories to not be as painful. Jolon's concerns about whether or not they would be found by any member of the pack they bordered were completely reflected in Cori's mind. He had the same thought while he was waiting for Jolon to return, but he was confident that someone would definitely find them. The gentle wind at the western border was blowing towards the pack lands, their scent must've already travelled a fair distance. "Hello, I couldn't help but notice you're standing at my borders, are you looking to join or are you simply passing through?" a new voice broke the crisp winter air. Cori's mismatched gaze was instantly drawn away from Jolon and onto the mystery female approaching. Her stance was that of a wolf in charge, but that's not what caused Cori's brain to stutter. Her eyes were such a stark lavender in contrast to such a pure white coat, the flash of authority behind purple lenses even from just a simple question was intriguing. It was Jolon's voice that snapped him out of his stupor, "Well, we were hoping to join your pack, we weren't quite sure of how your pack would respond, so we decided to wait here. My name's Jolon, I've been travelling for a while now, and this is Corvidae, he patched me up earlier, I had some nasty cougar wounds. We come bearing gifts as well, albeit small, but a nice meal nonetheless, food is always the way to another wolf's heart. I caught it on the rogue side of the border as well, so you don't have to worry about that, I promise."The snow being flicked onto his rump was just another wake-up call, the excitable male beside him causing Cori's mental blockade to finally fall. As he was about to stand and introduce himself (despite Jolon having already done the initial job for him) the stunned male completely forgot that his paw was laying claim to a slippery strip of bark. When he put weight on his paw, he skidded forwards rather than standing, the blunder quickly recovered back into a sitting position. Burning with embarrassment, Cori ticked his stone into his cheek and tried to get out the words he wanted, "Yes, my name's Corvidae but you can call me Cori, most wolves find it easier than the whole mouthful... that is... my name. I have a few herbal skills but I definitely need more practice." Cursing himself internally, the oddly patterned male kept a respectful gaze, not meeting her gaze directly out of respect and embarrassment for himself. Usually, he was so bubbly and active. Meeting this anonymous Somnus she-wolf had thrown his brain for a loop that was completely different to how he met every other wolf. Letting his tail waggle slightly behind him, Cori turned over the stone in his mouth, the occasional 'clack' of sea glass hitting his teeth muted by his lips. @winchesterbrosinc Beta Violet

| | Violet's lavender eyes looked over the two males as they presented themselves. They were soft, not full of any malice. She found the bearing of a gift a kind gesture, that showed the male was good at hunting. It wasn't anything big, but even the smallest gift could make a difference. Her curiosity was peaked as the male named Corvidae was mentioned to have healed Jolon, the first rogue to have spoken. Murdoch was most certainly looking for an apprentice that could learn and heal the pack once he was withered to nothing more but an elder in the pack. Perhaps this would be the perfect candidate to stick to the Salutary. Thinking it over, she looked towards the two. "I'm Violet, the Beta of Somnus. My Alphess is not currently here as she is away on pack business," She stated, looking towards the two of them. "But, with the skills you speak of, and have shown already, I think you two will be fine additions to our pack," She spoke with a smile placed upon her lips. Violet was a gentle soul, not someone to hold much malice when it came to others.
Her outwardly and inwardly happy demeanor made it easy for her to appeal to other wolves, and make them feel more at home, even though they hadn't quite stepped over the borders yet. "Come, you'll need to meet your new packmates," She stated, looking towards the two of them. Eureka would most definitely approve of them, and with Violet being one of the oldest members in the pack, she hoped the Eureka would trust her judgment on bringing them in and accepting them. She did pick up the offering that Jolon gave, and carried it in her jaws as she guided the two males through the territory, and back to the common grounds.

In reality it was a short period of time as Jolon and Corvidae waited for a response from the female, but to the large, fluffy wolf it felt like ages and with every passing second he became more and more anxious to hear what the female had to say. Finally she spoke and Jolon's white fluffy ears perked up in anticipation, his amber eyes never leaving her, "I'm Violet, the Beta of Somnus. My Alphess is not currently here as she is away on pack business," The beta's words could not come out any faster as Jolon stood up waiting for her to continue, tail swaying back and forth near the ground, nervousness apparent "But, with the skills you speak of, and have shown already, I think you two will be fine additions to our pack."
Jolon was on his paws immediately his angelic seeming smile spreading over his white and silver furred face, and then the beta continued speaking, and with her hastily spoken invitation Jolon was quick to follow her across the border and towards the innermost portion of the pack's lands. Finally after such a long time of being alone, and all the travelling, all the hardships, he would finally belong somewhere again, finally have others around him to make smile and make sure they have a good time, but even a couple who would make him smile. At this thought Jolon stopped, his amber eyes traveled back to the border searching for Corvidae until they landed on the black piebald male, and Jolon's smile became even brighter, if that was possible, as he hurriedly spoke, "You were right Cori, it seems waiting and showcasing our skills was the right way to go, we better hurry and catch up before they change their minds." Jolon's light-hearted laugh rang in the air as he turned once more and jogged ahead, staying within view of the beta, not about to risk getting lost within the territory, however he was mindful not to run ahead too fast, he didn't want to lose this new friend either, and Jolon had easily spotted the size difference between the two wolves, and he didn't want Cori trying to rush to keep up in the snow.

It seemed that his blunder with grasping how to use the English language hadn't off put the beauty that was the Somnus Beta. Thank goodness. "I'm Violet, the Beta of Somnus. My Alphess is not currently here as she is away on pack business. But, with the skills you speak of, and have shown already, I think you two will be fine additions to our pack," she spoke again, her tone much softer now that it was established that the two males weren't threats. Violet, it was such an elegant name for an equally elegant she-wolf. He didn't want to come off too obvious or too forward, so he focused on rolling the stone around in his mouth. As she invited them into Somnus territory, Jolon barked giddily from beside him, "You were right Cori, it seems waiting and showcasing our skills was the right way to go, we better hurry and catch up before they change their minds." With a laugh bubbling out of the slightly smaller male, Cori nodded eagerly in agreement. Before he could follow Jolon though, he scooped his alder bark back into his maw and chew down on it. Hopefully the juice from the bark would keep his mouth from hurting too much. With his mismatched gaze fixed solely ahead, he bounded after Violet and Jolon. He was kept from going directly after them by his damned compulsion though. His claws dug through the snow desperately quickly, wanting to strike the ground so he could be satisfied and finally meet his new family. After a few seconds of scraping, he was finally freed from his need to strike dirt in Somnus territory. Darting after those he could now call his packmates, Cori could only guess what his future was going to look like. -Exit to: Somnus Common Grounds- @jolon Beta Violet
