Hydran "You're only as small as the world will make you seem."
The young male made sure to keep close to his mother and siblings while throwing the occasional glance over his shoulder to see what the rest of the pack wolves were doing. It was interesting to watch as cliques were made, some faces disappearing to unknown parts of the territory while others milled around the lush and grassy area of the Commons that Hydran was confined to. It was the wolves who decided to vacate Commons that sparked the pup's curiosity. What lay beyond the clearing? Wasn't it dangerous out there? How much land lay beyond his own familiar boundaries? Maybe one day he'd be able to explore it all, hopefully one day soon. He'd probably end up dragging one of his siblings along with him as his expedition partner, and they'd leave no stone of Lubrusca unturned.
But for now, Hydran's attention was reeled back in by his mother as she gritted a few words through her teeth at a three-legged female. "Let them die, see if I care." The young male's interest was caught by one word in particular. Die. It was a familiar word, however it was one that he had only heard on very few occasions, usually spoken as 'died' while concerning the topic of a wolf named Father, or was his name Dad, or Joktan? Hydran was clueless, but he knew that this Father character had something to do with him, as he had gathered as much from the context with which it had been whispered while in his presence. Was Father something that he should feel the need to want? Once again, confusion surrounded Hydran, even more-so when he tried to figure out how the word that mummy had used was connect to this unknown being that he had began to identify as Jok-Dad.
He didn't have much time to dwell on these confusion thoughts as his mother scooped up the half-blind Lysic within her maw and began to trot away. Hydran quickly jumped to his feet, unbalanced legs stumbling a few times as he tried to keep up with his mother's retreating form. It was a good thing that she didn't stray too far, as the young creamy male quickly came back to sit near his gathered family, his mother brushing her tongue over the top of Lysic's head. The favouritism was clear, but Hydran didn't really care. Lysic was the first born, and Hydran was still being fed; he had no reason to complain.
"Mother, what was Kai talking about? Who are the Ferus wolves, and why did two of them die? What exactly is dying? Was that was happened to father?" Hydran looked to the slightly smaller figure of Lysic as he spoke. Thank god his older brother was smart enough to ask the question, and it seemed that he had the exact same questions that the third-born did, which was helpful. All Hydran had to do was be present for their mother's answer, which was easy enough. His burning amber optics looked to the golden sight of Ventus, his head cocked to the side ever so slightly as he eagerly awaited the answered that he had been wanting only a minute ago.

Nece kept to the outskirts of the Rogue, fighting to keep a professional exterior. Her insides screeched, clawed, growled, and bit at fragile insides. It was to much, way to much. Pulling the crease of her face, a silent faltering breath inward, an uneven exhale. This would repeat, in an endless cycle until the words of her Superior prickled at chocolate auricles, bringing the fighter to attention. A hunt? Hunting? Splendid! Oh so perfect! Besides the occasional order or reply, she had no need to socialize with any of her new pack mates, a stresser soon to come about sooner or later.
But, for now, the lean bitch waltzed behind Heather, cream and chocolate tail tip flicking evenly as she continued onwards.

Salutary Snow Rose The young Salutary smiled as she watched the considerably large snowy brute lovingly speak to the small marbled she-wolf, telling her that they were to embark on an adventure. It touched her to see such a strong and familial bond that connected the pair like father and daughter, perhaps they were? Of course, there was no real likeliness between them, and their scents hinted at nothing of a blood-relation, but it was fun to imagine such a big brute with such a small and soft daughter. Snow Rose was a sucker for any kind of pairings like that, and maybe one day she'd be able to find her own big-bad protective partner that would care for her like a Queen, but she didn't see that day coming anytime soon. For now, she considered herself to be too focused on her job as a healer, especially since she had just earned the prestigious title of Salutary here at Lubrusca.
As the thought of Lubrusca crossed her mind, it was none-other than one of their pack-mates who approached the trio. A young male who adorned a pelt of creamy eggshell hues, and he seemed rather interested in Macha. Instantly, Snow Rose felt a protectiveness blossoming within her at the thought of Macha, but she simply stood and watched as the young Lubruscan introduced himself as Parker before requesting to join them on their expedition. Despite technically being the highest ranking wolf within the current gathering, Snow Rose gave no care to the 'hight' of her rank as she looked to Mochi. It had been him who conducted the idea of an adventure, so it would be him who decided whether or not the male would be accompanying them today; but Rose saw no reason as to why he couldn't, and she thought it to be a rather smart idea when Mochi asked Parker to show them the locations of some local herbs. Snow Rose smiled at this, giving both Mochi and Parker a nod of her head in approval. After all, she had no clue where to begin her search for herbs, of course in a territory like Lubrusca they could be found everywhere, but she needed specific growths that she would be able to come back to and catalog for uses in the future.
"If you could point us in the right direction, that would certainly be a very big help." Snow Rose nodded once again, giving the boy a gentle smile. She would indeed be very grateful if he could at least help to lead them in the right direction of something useful. OOC: @mochi, Omega Macha, Hunting Superior Parker |

Boy, the fluffy male was weird! His smile was weird, his pushing of his pretty was weird. He was just weird. "My name is Mochi," he started, sitting up straight. Oh dang, this weird guy was big! Better not tell him that he's weird then. "Do you think you could show us where herbs grow here?" The male's question made his tongue loll out of his mouth. Herbs? H E R B S!? Aw maaaan. These adults weren't fun at all! Now the pretty she-wolf, he didn't know about, and was much more open to. Even so, he couldn't exactly answer their question right away. He didn't know any herbs exactly. He knew of grass most definitely. And pine cones! He knew a whole bunch about the location of pine cones. But herbs, hmmm, what qualified as a herb? "Huh-hi Par-k-ur. I-I'm Ma-mach-cha," his attention snapped to the ochre omega. Her stutter was confusing, she didn't quiiiiite get his name right, but he didn't mind. It was like a nickname! His very own nickname. His ink tipped tail whipped back and forth as hers began to as well. He met her small smile with a huge goofy grin. His soft grey gaze locked with Macha's golden gaze. She was very pretty. Very very pretty. She even smelled nice! Like sweet flowers. The voice of the bigger she-wolf drew him away from his crushing stupor, "If you could point us in the right direction, that would certainly be a very big help."No pressure! He just needed to begin an adventure with knowledge of a topic that he has little to no care for! EASY! "Okay, um..." his voice trailed off. As he mulled over an idea to lead the party, the scent of his black and spice crush gave him an idea. Flowers! Flowers were herbs, right? At the very beginning of his life, he remembered seeing other wolves eating flowers. Not even the weird wolves, the normal ones! "Okay, follow me!" Parker barked. With his chest puffed out like the almighty leader of this adventure that he was, Parker strutted towards a secret corner of the common grounds. Alright, it wasn't that secret at all, but if this was going to be a fun adventure, he needed to distract himself from the whole herby thing. There they were. Little itty bitty white flowers on top of a bunch of wrinkly little leaves (Chervil). As he reached the infestation of blooms, Parker did the most precise action he had ever done. With just his incisors, he nipped off one of the clumps of flowers. With it hanging between his teeth, he brought it towards his very special someone. No matter whether or not the fluffy dude/dad got in the way, Parker was going to try to stick the flower clump behind the ear of Macha. If, miraculously, he was able to get past Mr weird fluffy, he would simply place the flower behind Macha's ear. However, if no fun fluffy buns got in the way, and he wasn't able to reach her ear no matter how hard he tried, he would settle with placing the flowers at her paws. And shooting Mochi a glare. The big meanie, getting in the way of his single attempt at flirting. Either way, he would say, "They're pretty. Like you.""I don't know what this is exactly, but some flowers are herbs, right?" Parker hopefully addressed Snow Rose. There had to be a little bit of truth in that statement, right? He really didn't know. "Please find the next one, I don't know any herbs," he whispered to the Salutary. Giving her a cheeky grin, he turned his attention back to Macha, his tail waggling behind him while he watched for her response. Heather's harsh voice grated into his ears. COME ON! He was in the middle of something! Having a rank sucked. Really really sucked. Could he sent it back? Were ranks under the 'no returnsies' rule? Daaaaaaang it! Parker flicked his head back as he groaned. "I gotta go. See you later! Good luck!" With a last glance at Macha, and Snow Rose and Mochi he guessed, the golden male scampered away. Dealing with the new Hunting Superior Heather was going to be hard. She was all serious and stuff. He was goofy. Very goofy. And not very serious. He really should be a part of a hunt. Oh well, they'll learn eventually. -Exit to Hunting Grounds- Omega Macha @mochi Salutary Snow Rose @heather

As he awaited Ventus' answer, a three-legged she-wolf bolted into the common grounds. Her news was shocking. There were two dead wolves in the hunting grounds? He could see why his request hadn't been addressed immediately. "You needn't help the enemy. Let them die, see if I care," the spitfire's response was equally shocking. He was lead to believe that Lubrusca was a pack of peace. A pack of love. A pack of kindness. The Alphess' response seemed to juxtapose that entirely. Something must've happened between Ferus and Lubrusca. Perhaps the reason that the borders smelled like blood. "I will ask you later, Alphess Ventus. Sorry to intrude," with a dip of his head and a respectful smile, he took a few steps away from the Alphess. His cobalt gaze flicked back to where his friends once stood, but found that they had moved. Off to find herbs most likely, something that he himself would like to do later. For now, he wanted to find a den, perhaps build one if none were available. His eyes scanned the lush grasses for divots, finally finding one on his third sweep of the commons. He made his way over to it, drinking in the scents around it. There were none that were potent. He presumed that no one else had claimed it, and henceforth climbed in. It was a bit tight, but he wasn't about to be growing any time soon. Besides, with winter approaching, it would keep him warm. Coating the den in his scent, Blake clambered out. He didn't quite want to rest yet, there was still so much socializing to do with the new and old members of the Lubrusca pack. Alphess Ventus @everyonereally

At first, the subtlest faintest snarl curled her lips into an irritable arch, a laughably ironic contrast in comparison to her tiny, hunched form. Fatherly pride flowered within him. Excellent - if she just flashed her fangs, showed a sharp enough smile, she could send the ditsy blonde reeling back to his original hole - alas, much to Mochi's dismay, to no avail. Her sharply clenched snarl was aptly replaced by a shy, airy smile, a playful amusement at clumsy antics. No, no, no, couldn't she even see that was merely the male's façade? Play a dumb, lovable ditz, and get away with total, absolute murder. (No mention for theft.) Confusion gently crossed Macha's clouded features at his quick-paced, hurried ramblings, softly blending into an innocent shyness, her own introduction accompanied by a beaming grin. Tangerine eyes sought out solace in Snow Rose, hoping to find a faint hint of an ally. Alas, the alabaster beauty did little more than give the pair a deft, brief dip of approval.
"If you could point us in the right direction, that would certainly be a very big help." Ah, yes, this was the part of the conversation he'd been patiently waiting for, where the whimsy ditz realized he didn't have the slightest idea what he was doing, and walked away. He waited patiently, already preparing a polite 'thanks, but no thanks' for his inevitable departure. Instead, what he found himself left with was a set of sunny, eager garb that wasn't, 'Oh, I'm sorry, sir; I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I will now leave you and your daughter alone for all eternity. Apologies for any disturbance! Your pelt is quite handsome.' On the contrary, the colorful male walked, chest puffed with pride, to a tucked away corner of the commons, presenting a pretty array of white blossoms with childish glee. "I don't know what this is exactly, but some flowers are herbs, right?" He asked, his tail swaying tenderly side-to-side.
Suddenly, with swift precision, the flaxen-gold fiend snipped a small cluster of beautifully clear blossoms between his teeth, puffed white petals dangling from a goofy playful grin. Before he could make a move, before he could even cut the peeving meddling pest off, he'd made his way to Macha, gently setting the sweet bloom behind an ebony-tinged ear. "They're pretty," he began, granting his golden tail permission to whip as it pleased. "Like you." Oh, that rambunctious, dopey rat was slick! For one fantastic moment, Mochi fantasized about seizing a small cluster of his own and shoving it down his throat. Thankfully, the thick-headed male seemingly had other priorities, beckoned away by a brash, shrill-voiced she-wolf. Karma if he'd ever heard of it - he'd take care to thank her later. Still, while they were they, he might as well aid Snow Rose with their original quest. Swiftly, with a similar accuracy, he snipped a small collection of colorless blooms, eyeing Snow Rose with a whimsy amusement. "Well, they are herbs, correct? Any idea where we could find a few more of these beauties?" If she nodded, he would accompany her on her mission, but if, on the other hand, she declined, he would help the sweet white she-wolf bring them back to her den. And maybe, just maybe, he'd learn a bit about chervil.

Omega Macha “Everybody Can Make Someone's Day, Just Smile And Say Hi!”
Macha fell into step after Par-k-ur as he moved without hesitation, caught up in his funny clumsy antics, entranced by his ditsy grin. Her own face held a shy little smile perched on her lips, silver flecked gaze filled with curiosity and somewhere, deep and hidden from view, slight admiration for the blonde and caramel male. His funny movements reminded her of a male bird she saw once, strutting proudly along his branch with a look of ownership covering his proud face. Par-k-ur didn’t have that dominant expression or quite the same strut but his golden chest was puffed out amusingly just like the little bird.
The caramelized blonde lead the small clutch of wolves to a wonderfully secluded and rather pretty area of the Common Grounds. The deaf Omega’s head unconsciously tilted in a questioning motion as she saw the carpet of crumpled green leaves powdered with a delicate frosting of white. Macha’s eyes widened, surprise and wonder filling her as she zoned in on the closest white flower, it’s fragile and pearly petals outstretched in a beautiful spread with a pin-prick sized dot of amber set in the middle like a miniature jewel. Her shy smile grew as she looked across the little patch, admiring the pure and natural beauty the area had. Without meaning to, Macha quickly found herself smiling at the goofy male. As she did, her heart fluttered in a strange way, something she didn’t recognize and had never felt before.
As she watched him, Par-k-ur swept up a small bundle of the beautiful little blooms gingerly within his teeth. Before she knew it, the flowers were being tenderly placed behind her ear. Macha’s face flushed, flustered face angling down to her porcelain tipped paws. She couldn’t help the small smile that worked it’s way onto her lips as the male did so, eyes reaching up momentarily to catch his own leaden gaze. Her gaze lingered there a moment, flushed face only taking on more heat as she watched his lips move in a slightly slower way. “They ur pur-i-ty. Like you.” She got the jist of the spoken words and her tail swayed happily at the compliment. Did he really think she was pretty? No one had ever called her pretty. She didn’t even think she was that pretty, though she had never really considered her appearance much before. Again, her heart fluttered and her stomach did a nervous flip-flop.
The deaf Omega shuffled her paws as a soft and mumbled word made it’s way out of her throat, whispered toward the male with slight strength as her eyes fell down to the blossoms at her paws. “Th-th-tha-n-k-ks.” Her stutter was increased by her flustered brain and thumping heart though she was pretty sure the message was given. As Macha stood there, feeling flustered but oddly happy, she tried desperately to understand the foreign feelings that swarmed her. Tried to understand why her face felt so hot, tried to understand that unstoppable sway her tail had and tried to understand most why that bashful, clumsy smile wouldn’t leave her face but instead grew larger as she felt the stems of the placed flowers tickle the back of her velvety ear.
Her eyes were cast upon the blossoms at her paws when Par-k-ur left. She didn’t hear him leave, she couldn’t, but even if she had been given the ability to hear, she wouldn’t have noticed. She was too caught up in her thoughts and her feelings, her wonderfully happy feelings. Looking up again, her smile fell some as she watched his retreating figure disappear after a small group of already departed wolves. Macha took a step after him, confused at why he was so suddenly leaving and maybe waiting for him to turn around and look back at her. But he didn’t. Her smile managed to stay perched on her ebony maw however, that happy feeling still managing to burn with a subtle warmth inside her chest.
Turning to Mokee and Snow Wose, Macha beamed up at the giant and the angel, her tail picking up it’s original rapid sway as she watched them. Noticing their attention focused mostly on the flowers, or so she thought, the marbled pup brought up a question that had been lingering on the edges of her mind for a few minutes. “Wuh-wuh-t ty-p-puh of ful-ful-ow-ers?” The marbled pup gestured toward the patch of delicate blossoms to show what she meant as she focused on the lips of the two adults for their answers.

Salutary Snow Rose Based on the fact that Parker seemed to hesitate after their request, Snow Rose could guess that the young male didn't really know to0 much about the location of herbs. But nevertheless, he was willing to point them in the right direction, which happened to be a more-so secluded corner of the Commons. As they followed Parker, Snow Rose couldn't help but throw a quick glance towards Mochi, who seemed less than thrilled about their new acquaintance's interest in his darling Macha. It was somewhat amusing to see the big-buff-fluff-ball suddenly become so wary of a mere pup, but she could understand why he was being so protective, and in a way, she could relate to his fondness of Macha. But as a female who had dealt with younger males before, she could tell that none of Parker's intentions were bad.
Her thoughts were instantly redirected as the small group came to a stop at their first patch of herbs. "Chervil," she whispered to herself excitedly, tail swaying as her caramel optics rested upon the green foliage that blossomed their small yet beautiful white flowers. It probably wasn't the most useful herb that one could find in an environment such as this, but it was definitely worth noting the location, perhaps she would even try to grow some around her den. She already had an idea of what she wanted to try and cultivate around her den, so perhaps chervil could make the list?
Snow Rose looked up just in time to see Parker slip a few of the white blossoms behind Macha's fluffy ear, the young female's tail beginning to sway with a great amount of enthusiasm after being called pretty by the little Romeo. Snow Rose had to stop herself from gushing over the pair, trying with all her might not to burst out into a chorus of 'aww's. She instead looked to Mochi, who did not look very content with the situation. She also had to stop herself from giggling at the large male, so she instead distracted herself with a question that stemmed from Parker.
"I don't know what this is exactly, but some flowers are herbs, right. Please find the next one, I don't know any herbs," It was refreshing to see that he was being honest about his lack of knowledge on the specific herb. A male at his age would usually take the chance to show off in front of the females by acting like they knew everything--or at least, that's what her brother had done when trying to win the affection of all the ladies. It never ended well for him though.
"Of course," she nodded in answer. "A lot of flowers have uses for healing. It was one of the first things I was taught." She smiled at the thought of her first lessons. If only her mother could see where she stood now.
It didn't take long for Parker to be called back to the rest of the pack, his Hunting Superior wanting the youngling to join them on a hunt. Snow Rose giggled as she saw the defeat and inner-protest gleam in his eyes. "Have fun, and stay safe!" She called out after his retreating figure, deciding that she would not want to prove her herbal skills with Parker being her first patient. Well, it would be best if she didn't have any patients, but of course Mother Nature always loved to give and take.
“Wuh-wuh-t ty-p-puh of ful-ful-ow-ers?” The innocent voice of Macha, had Snow Rose turning her attention back to the duo that she stood with. She blinked, realising that she had been too caught up in her own thoughts to actually explain to her friends about what exactly they had found. "Oh, this plant is called chervil." She gave a small giggle, as she lowered her snout to sniff at the delicate flowers, the scent bringing back memories of her puphood. "This is one of the herbs we would use as pups to help a bellyache. It's very gentle on the stomach, perfect for a younger wolf. But these days, I mainly use the leaves to help ease or prevent infection. It's quite a useful little plant~." She sang with her sweet voice for the inquisitive little she-wolf's ears before giving a small nod to the flowers she had adorned behind her ear. "That was very nice of him, don't you think?" She whispered this last sentence with a small chuckle, knowing that Mochi wouldn't be very appreciative of her endorsing Parker's adorableness.
"Well, they are herbs, correct? Any idea where we could find a few more of these beauties?" Snow Rose glanced towards the large fluffy male, giving him a cheeky smile as she began to trot further into the forest, a simple swish of her tail telling the pair to follow. "Well, there's sure to be something nearby!" She chirped with a skip in her step, keen eyes looking between the expanse of trees and foliage as she looked for anything useful. Of course, she saw ferns everywhere that she looked, which would be helpful for cleaning out wounds, but she wasn't interested in stopping for something that was so common in an area like this.
After only a short while of walking, something did catch her eye. "Oh," she exclaimed as she stopped rather abruptly, her tail swaying as she looked from the herb towards Mochi and Macha, a big grin plastered on her face. Snow Rose took a step towards the plant. "These are poppy pods." She stated, nudging the bulb-shaped pods with her leathery nose. "The seeds that you find inside the pod are what I consider to be a staple in the world of herbs. They're useful in practically every situation that you could think of." Snow Rose careful snapped a few of the stems half-way down the growth, letting the corners of her mouth fill with the sweet sap that would've prevented the plant from drying out. But in this case, it was easier to retrieve the seeds if the pod was withered and dry.
"I love to use poppy seeds because they work wonders when calming a patient, and they're very effective for numbing pain. My mother would also feed us poppy seeds if we were ever stubborn enough to refused to go to sleep at night. I still use them even now if I'm feeling restless during the nights." Snow Rose paused in her speech for a second to take a breath. "Actually, I can't exactly remember a time when I haven't used poppy seeds for one of my patients. Because it really does a lot to help against pain. I've tried a lot of different things in my time, but nothing really compares to the power of a popp-," This time, she paused for good, her swaying tail beginning to slow and her face growing hot as she realised what she was doing.
"Oh, I'm rambling again. Sorry." (1161 words) OOC: Hunting Superior Parker, @mochi,Omega Macha |

As time wore on and everything seemed to begin happening, the singular, miniscule, only-daughter of the Alphess, had dawdled off. With pricked ears, pointier than most, angled forwards and listening intently, the runt had all but begun to seek her own adventure. A larger member of their family group had initiated play with her brothers, but she had withheld her lack of interest and chosen to slip away. Pinecones were pointy, and in truth, they looked quite painful. Who'd want to play with those anyway?
With tail curved over her back, flagging high like a mighty leaders, the young wolf had let small amber optics flutter to and fro. A rock; A leaf; oh, maybe that small bug scuttling along? Yes- it was perfect. Salmon nasals flared with excitement, and pink paw pads began to carry the critter forwards as she made B-line towards the unsuspecting insect. It would never see her coming- Never! But alas, the undeniable snap of a small stick caused even her petite mass to recoil and stare at the chosen path of approach. "Pfft." The soft half-chuckle slid free. How pathetic of her; flinching at something so meager. Quickly, she let her widened eyes refocus, searching for the retreating form of her target. There! It hadn't wandered far, and from her own notes, appeared quite at ease in its safe little mindset.
With her elbows to bend, and knees to buckle, the bundle of creme-whites all but began to creep forwards. She was locked on, straight tail pointing skywards and pinched auricles leaning forwards, to any adults paying attention, she looked like the least threatening creature out, but that didn't stop her. And soon, after one step, two steps, threeeee steps, four- She pounced! An eager, and honestly quite squeaky, attack growl, would slip free from mighty lungs. All ivory daggers bared as jowls snapped shut unsuccesfully.
"No fair!" The sudden yip all but escaped with little warning as the brown bug took flight, rising higher and higher until it was uncatchably high and hidden amongst the trees leaves. But, instead of standing there staring, the future, mighty she, turned around and began heading along the lining of the long grass. Her stride tall and directed as she mimicked what she recalled her mothers motions to have been like. Yes. She wanted to be just like her; and so she kept herself alert, watching over her brothers as they romped about. Boy- They sure looked like they were having fun. As the runt let herself fall into distraction, she'd pause in her tracks, eyes wide and chest rising with each breath only to fall once more. Fluffy rump would eventually kiss the earths surface, granting her contented seating as she merely waited on the side-line. Maybe she should join in soon? If only to show her brothers how to really hunt a pinecone.
Tilting her head with a curious cock to one side, Devika took in the unfolding scene, Parker was an odd adult, playing around like he was only their size. It was almost... What you could call, 'fascinating'.
//Jump to Ventus' Return with Additional Wolves\\
As a barrage of thickly unfamiliar scents suddenly barreled through the open span of Lubruscan Commons, the miniature albino pup would let her head fling around. Wide, deer-in-headlights optics to bore into each new face that spilled into view, guided by the more familiar and welcoming mass of her dam. 'Mum's back!' The hushed thought bounced through the small females mind, her tail beginning to swat left and right as upright ears listened to the chatter of new and old voices alike. Ranks were being passed out by her mother, and wolves soon split into their own new gatherings. It was all new, interesting, and in Devika's mind, something she wanted to be a part of as she let her chest puff outwards.
Yes- She'd go put herself somewhere to see and hear more, and so, she pushed herself forward, scurried, rat-like trot to be taken as she scampered towards her mother and brothers. "Mama!" She'd let the audible bark escape pale lips, no more words to follow as of yet as she slowed until halted to listen to the attack of questions her brother, Lysic, seemed to throw at their mother. Utterly lost on the chosen topic, the biscuit tinted female chose to remain silent, eyes only wandering when a new mass approached and spoke. Wow! She was big... Then again, so were all the other adults, but she seemed nervous, and Devika couldn't help but let her tail wiggle.
"Delta?" She repeated the word with great curiosity. What was Delta? What did it mean? Was that her name? As she began taking small strides forward, she'd beam a friendly, almost crookedly unsure smile when her orange hues caught the mix-matched pair of ivory and lilac ones upon the blanketed females visage. "Hello." She'd squeak, her motions ceasing as she paused a few decent steps away from the females front. "Who are you?" The question could have almost sounded rude if it weren't for the fact the albino was still young and offered a partial head-tilt at the same time. Maybe she could be this ones friend. Oh! Maybe this adult could help her learn what she wanted to learn. She looked big and strong, like a leader- Just like mum! Yup. Devika liked her already. And so, the Alphess' Daughter merely awaited a response from her newly deemed friend.

The tawny male's cobalt gaze scanned the common grounds. They finally rested on his group of friends. That's where they had run off to! The hopeful Apprentice to be allowed his tongue to loll out of his mouth as be began to trot over. Being with his friends was much more entertaining than simply standing outside of his new den. Most of the other Lubruscan wolves seemed to not want to talk, or not to socialize at all. It was very odd for the peaceful pack that he had presumed he had entered. Perhaps they were just as shocked by the fact that two wolves from a rival pack had perished in the hunting grounds. That would explain the more or less silence around the common grounds. With a pep to his step, Blake ambled over to where Snow Rose, Mochi, and Macha were located. A blonde male bolted away from the group as he approached. Did he not like him? Was it merely a coincidence? The creamy hued male didn't have to spend much time pondering over the sudden disappearance of one of Lubrusca's pre-existing members. As he approached the group of wolves he considered to be his friends, he was struck by something odd. At a first glance, the plants looked very similar to one that was poisonous. Seeing that Mochi had some in his mouth, and that Macha had some both in front of her and behind her ear twisted his stomach. Assuming the worst, Blake would need to find some yarrow quickly, but in this lush forest, he doubted that there would be any close by. However, the simply fact that Snow Rose was still calm eased his worry. If she wasn't batting an eye at the handling of the herb, it must be chervil. "This is one of the herbs we would use as pups to help a bellyache. It's very gentle on the stomach, perfect for a younger wolf. But these days, I mainly use the leaves to help ease or prevent infection. It's quite a useful little plant~." the chime-like voice of Lubrusca's official Salutary almost slapped him in the face with nostalgia. Chervil was one of the first plants he had learned to use when he was only a few months old. He and a majority of the pups in his birth pack came down with a stomach bug when they were a mere four months old, and the Salutary, Namiri, healed them using chervil leaves. With a happy sigh, Blake drew closer to the group, wanting to be able to not only listen to the conversation, but to participate as well. "Well, they are herbs, correct? Any idea where we could find a few more of these beauties?" Mochi's voice caused a switch in the herbal wolf's focus. "Well, there's sure to be something nearby!" Snow Rose's cheeky response brought a smile to the cream hued male's face. This was what he wanted; a family-like unit that shared his same love of herbs, a group of friends that he could easily be around. Not that most other wolves he had encountered hadn't been just as easy to get along with, but most of the wolves he had met as a rogue had moved on before he could really get to know them. In Red's group, he left almost as quickly as he had encountered them, which was unfortunate, because he would have loved to help Wynston put on some weight and learn English. In this instance, it was his choice to leave. For one of the first rogues he had met, there was no choice. The pressing guilt of not being able to save Winter still haunted Blake. She was starving, and though he tried to give her some herbs, by the time he had managed to bring food back to her, she had passed away. The gaunt form of her unmoving body was scarred in his mind. If anything, her death would motivate Blake to try hard to save more lives. It wouldn't hold him back from trying to help simply because he failed once. During the time that the beige male was lost in his memories, the group had moved into the forest. There was bound to be more herbs in the dense brush. "These are poppy pods. The seeds that you find inside the pod are what I consider to be a staple in the world of herbs. They're useful in practically every situation that you could think of. I love to use poppy seeds because they work wonders when calming a patient, and they're very effective for numbing pain. My mother would also feed us poppy seeds if we were ever stubborn enough to refused to go to sleep at night. I still use them even now if I'm feeling restless during the nights. Actually, I can't exactly remember a time when I haven't used poppy seeds for one of my patients. Because it really does a lot to help against pain. I've tried a lot of different things in my time, but nothing really compares to the power of a popp-, Oh, I'm rambling again. Sorry," Snow's monologue brought a smile to his face. It was very true, poppy seeds were one of the staple herbs. The fact that the bulbous pods could so easily be found so close to the common grounds was a good sign. Confident with his knowledge about herbs, Blake respectfully asked, "May I have a try?" He had walked in on their conversation, so it was the polite thing to do in his mind. With the conversation turned towards herbs, Blake wanted to add his own input. Between him and Snow Rose, he guessed that she was older than him, so her much more extensive knowledge of the herbs around them was easily explained. Even so, he still desired to impress the she-wolf with his own knowledge. Blake was well aware that anything he would have to say about the herbs around him would likely already be known by the alabaster Salutary, but he could still educate Mochi and Macha on whatever herb he found that was useful. In the best case, he could find something close by that was widely used, and common. Teaching prospective learners about the most obscure and rare herbs that have one extremely specific purpose would do no good if they wanted just some general knowledge. Casting his blue gaze around the forest, he searched for something useful. Obvious ferns erupted out of the brush, but with them being that obvious, he didn't exactly want to talk about them. As he looked, Blake noted a few more live poppy seed pods. Of course, the chervil was already spoken for,but a few other flowers sprouted out of the ground. The most notable were daisy and marigold, though with the daisies, there was only one purpose, and the flower wasn't utilized in it. To make sure that one was using the right herb, they would need to memorize the leaf pattern, and that wasn't the most fun thing to tell someone else. However, one of the uses he knew for marigold involved the flower, which was much easier to both spot and remember. Padding over to the explosion of golden petals, Blake piped up, "This is marigold. Chewing the petals or leaves into a paste, or poultice, will help close off wounds and prevent infection when the poultice is applied to a wound." The average sized male gave the bloom a light tap with his paw, simply to emphasize that this was the plant he was raving about. In my personal experience, marigold is one of the best herbs for cracked paw pads. The juice in the leaves helps sooth irritated pads. I would warn you though, eating the flower is one way that someone would expel toxins or poisons out of someone. In other words, it could make you throw up," Blake hated to end on such a disgusting note, but it was important knowledge. With a beaming smile, the male's tail waved gently behind him. His cobalt eyes sparkled. Talking about herbs, teaching other about herbs, brought him such a rush. It was nice to know that there were wolves that could benefit from the knowledge he was willingly giving them, rather than just from his actions with the herbs he was teaching them about. It was then that an unnatural scent triggered his ebony nasals. It wasn't like that of the plants they were trampling beneath their paws, nor that of the sweet scent of the sap of a freshly cut seed pod. It wasn't that of any wolf he had encountered yet in Lubrusca. It was smokey, almost to realistically so. The now concerned male frantically cast his gaze skywards, looking through the tree tops for any sign of the truth he was dreading. There it was. A smoke stack, barreling upwards with the fury of a thousand devils. The slight breeze that once comfortable wove through Lubrusca now carried the burning scent. With a shake of his head, Blake looked to his friends, wondering if they could smell and see the danger they were in as well. Whether or not they could, Blake spoke up, "That... is a fire. We need to get away from here if we want to avoid it's wrath. You guys get going, I'm going to alert the wolves in the commons."With a final, sharp dip of his head towards his friends, Blake set off at a sprint towards the common grounds. This was no time to dilly dally. On his travels, he had witnessed what a fire could do to the landscape. Once proud trees were reduced to blackened stumps. The grasses and herbs were ruined completely, becoming a blanket of ash that covered the dirt. If the wolves of Lubrusca did not leave urgently, they would end up as burnt skeletons in their own territory. The common grounds were further away from the upcoming blaze that their location in the forest, so the scent of smoke wasn't as strong. It was still detectable, but not as easily as Blake had noticed it before. He hated that he had to interrupt the Alphess while she spent quality time with her wonderful pups again, but this matter was much more important that him becoming an Apprentice, or even the fact that two wolves had died on her territory. "Alphess Ventus, I'm terribly sorry to interrupt you again, but there is a fire heading towards the commons. It looks to be big, and it is likely that it won't burn itself out before it reaches the commons," Blake wanted to rush the words out, but he said them at only a slightly quickened pace. If he went too fast, she might not get his full message, and more time would be wasted with him repeating himself while action could be taken. He wanted to bolt back to his friends, but if indeed the Alphess needed him to repeat his message, he would need to be nearby to present it again. Words: 1852

Pup Erramun "Think Before You Speak, Breathe Before You Act."
Erramun hurried toward his spit-fire mother on large ebony paws, worry and confusion etched into his expression as he moved forward. All he had heard between Kai and his mother were the last few words that left his mom's lips and it was these very words that almost scared him for they held so much bitterness and cruelty within them, as if... his mother wasn't being his mother. He knew that the tangerine female could be harsh sometimes with the wolves of her pack and he had always assumed that such actions were taken because, secretly, she cared deeply for the wolf or situation. This didn't hold an ounce of even the possibility of caring. Her expression, her tone, it all pointed to near hatred. "Let them die, see if I care," The words tore through his mind as he tried to rationalize their meaning and their probability.
Coming up to his mother, the tan pup swayed his wispy tail in a concerned motion, worried eyes gazing toward her with an obvious curiosity. "Mom... is everything okay?" His voice felt small within him, almost as if it was hardly there at all. Erramun planted his rump in front of the bright figure of his only parent, watching with a stern posture and interested gaze. "Mother, what was Kai talking about?" Coffee hued eyes turned to his similarly coated brother, Lysic, watching with a similar curiosity about him as he spoke. Erramun gaze a gentle nod of his head as if agreeing with his sibling's question, trying to encourage the advance of this conversation. He too wanted to know about the odd exchange shared between his mother and Kai. "Who are the Ferus wolves, and why did two of them die? What exactly is dying?" A slight idea pulled at Erramun's brain at this term. Die and dying had always confused him, always lingering just out of his reach. The black tipped pup had a vague idea of what it was, though. To him, it was a long sleep in which bad things could happen. He guessed one would be completely vulnerable in this state. The prey his pack mates caught and feasted upon seemed like a good example for this. His pack mates had enforced such a state upon the animals which made them easy to eat and mutilate. Like being forever unconscious, though that term too was foreign to the young Lupine. But how would one awake from that when they were torn into pieces?
"Was that what happened to father?" Father, the same as Dad and Joktan. They all described one wolf, one that meant a lot to Erramun's spit-fire mother though he had never actually met this wolf. They seemed to have a faint existence, a presence that wasn't actually a presence. Sort of like a dream or made up image that was created by another's words. The thought that this wolf, so important to his mom, had been put into a suspended sleep was confusing. Couldn't she just wake them up and have them back? If his theory was right, that was how it worked.
While he waited for his siblings to gather and his mom to gather her thoughts, Erramun turned his softened gaze away from his mother for a moment to study a little black creature, a fly, scuttling along the ground. While the tan pup watched, it unfolded it's extra appendages and took off into the emptiness around. It moved through the air in an odd sort of movement, kind of twitchy and uncontrolled. Was it those extra things attached to it's back that made it move like that? Perhaps they worked like legs, but flat and less efficient? More efficient? They moved in a way that carried the main body forward but these extra parts had special abilities. Or, not special exactly. More like different. Especially since these things seemed to act like the fly's legs as it moved around. How curious.

- Beta Ebony - Someone who cannot hate something, cannot love something, either. Ebony sauntered in the back of the group, observing the many--some intriguing, some uninteresting--activities and conversations the new wolves were partaking in. Poor Elenor was liming at the tail of the group; she would never have any practical use to Lubrusca besides to satisfy the sexual and romantic desires of Dante, the socially bold male who was liable to cling to the helpless she-wolf any moment he desired, and she'd never have anything to say nor do about it. It was an aspect in hungry males he'd never understood, but then again, Ebony didn't empathize with much at all.
Blake was intrepidly trying to impress sweet Snow Rose with his inexhaustible knowledge of the witch hazel tree, to which Snow Rose responded with a story about her mother. Ebony wouldn't have expected such an answer from anyone; a wolf would nod, or agree with a term, but never share something so interesting as to counter such tedious, boring conversation. How did she manage to turn something so invariable and unimaginative into something so incredibly, cleverly, warmly absorbing?
Meanwhile, Ventus was focusing an expectant attention on the young Prim, the pup walking fairly close behind the alphess to doctor her status and enhance her reputation. Something was about to come of her. Until then, Ebony would ponder at the pile of pine cones being occupied by the pups and Parker while Lysic pawed at a beetle in the grass. For a moment, Ebony understood the peace that this land brought to its residents, but business pulled him aside from such curiosities.
Prim was undoubtedly an old soul. She was matured beyond her years, and she knew it, but that very knowledge plagued her with a particularly stubborn frustration. To an extent, Ebony empathized with her behavior, especially the behavior that was internal. He'd always had an incredible mind; his intuition had been stellar at a young age, and every decision he'd acted upon had been in respect to his knowledge which nobody else had been smart enough to understand. He chose the paths that were less obvious--less clean, but they were the smarter options. His comrades' excessively failed abilities in this quality deeply frustrated Ebony. Nobody was like him/ Nobody understood. He was left in a small pocket of darkness where he could solitarily intuit away all trivial emotions and social experiences. Thus, he was excluded; misunderstood. He was only to be satisfied by his own accomplishments that would reach no perception but his own.
Prim was, likewise, misunderstood. She has potential, but her reaction to adults seeing her as her true age was a contradicting flaw. It was childish and immature. A truly matured pup would understand the way of social customs and perceptions. Prim was incredibly insecure. She must have, deep down, known that she was stubborn and childish, and so she tried so hard to mock an contrasting portrait.
The monotonous tone underlying Ventus's rescript concerning the dens and new ranks. It was clear that Ventus hadn't planned any of this out--she'd simply put some names together and applied them to the empty spaces in the Lubruscan rank system. Elenor was made a hunter. Ebony could not resist but to shake his head in response to this utter blasphemy. What in the respect of all things equitable was Ventus thinking as she headed mindlessly to her rendezvous rock?
One of the only sensible outcomes of Ventus' announcement was the appointment of Snow Rose as salutary. Still, Ebony was taken aback by her display of contentedness. If he'd ever seen one thing, anything at all, that proved everything he'd denied all his life about the existence of purity and true rapture, it was in that very moment on Snow Rose's lustrous visage.
Afterwards, Ventus sat with her pups, licking Lysic on the head as he whined in objection. Ebony recalled how Mochi socialized with his pup, physically comforting her with a tail upon her back, begging for her attention and affection. He spoke to her with such humor; he was determined to make her smile and feel like all was right in the world. Ebony didn't understand why adults chose to teach this to their pups. As a result, Macha depended on Mochi. She could not bare to realize that her father figure was not sitting right next to her, and she panicked like she didn't know how to survive without a body directly beside her. It was unhealthy for pups to live like this. Disabled pups, especially, needed to be raised more strictly to ensure their capability to survive. But, who was Ebony to speak? He wasn't raised by anyone or anything besides reason and forced assimilation into instinctual survival. Excitement was everywhere, minus Blake who was unhappy with his rank as scout, like these rogues were reborn upon acquisition of titles, a new name to be called, a new status to be bound to. Blake was the only one who had something contrary to say about his new rank, and unsurprisingly, he chose to work alongside Snow Rose. They sought out this feeling for self fulfillment; they wanted to be part of a family. Ebony wanted to be part of a working force, one he could dedicate his service to so he wouldn't be without a purpose in his life. All of these rogues had a reason to be themselves, as individuals, but Ebony did not.
Ebony was still interested in Duva. He was awkward and socially uneducated, and Ebony found this to be relieving. They had something in common. Of course, Ebony didn't see any deductive abilities painting the span of Duva's potential, but a common misery was something that individuals clung to when meeting other individuals. At some point, Ebony would like to schedule a meeting with him to discuss such things. It would be entirely informational and educational for the both of them.
Some voice was distinctively infuriating the beta in a short moment after Ebony's little fantasy. Dante and Elenor's relationship would severely bother Ebony if it continued like this throughout their residence here. Every time they neared each other, it was like watching two wolves lick each others asses. Ebony didn't want to think about it much anymore. He didn't understand relationships.
Not. At. All.
Of course, they fled to the forest river at an inappropriate time. Ebony wouldn't bother addressing it. He didn't want to enter the forest river only to find them licking each others asses some more.
Suddenly, Kai burst into the clearing, panting and struggling to gather herself to put forth a formal announcement. With pursed lips, narrow eyes, and lowered brows, it was undeniable something was unsettling her. Shame and fear exuded from the female's visage, and ter resistance to the curiosity of new scents further proved that something was urgently infesting her mind at a profound level of multitude. Eyes on her paws, out of breath, panting, she announced that the Ferus hunting party suffered two deaths, one superior and one subordinate. Kai tried to save the delta, but she was too slow.
Ventus's reaction was inappropriate, but unsurprising. Ebony knew the alphess wasn't well; she'd been making poor decisions left and right, and now she couldn't care less about what was happening around her territory. She wasn't curious about Blake and Elenor taking off to roam her home without permission, nor concerned about the Ferus activities. Ventus wasn't going to be in charge much longer; she was either going to step down, or she was going to be overthrown. Ebony pinned all of this down on the death of Joktan, but to a wolf who didn't feel grief, it was yet no excuse in Ebony's baffled mind.
Kai was equally bewildered by the alpha's incredible response. Ventus wasn't thinking straight, and Kai understood this just as much as the beta did. Kai's argument was on behalf of lost lives and was centered on a crucial reaction towards the necessity of compassion, unlike Ebony's argument which was wielded on behalf of reason. Nonetheless, it was clear that things were not being handled correctly on this day. Ebony looked at Ventus with a certain glare that was neither accepting nor hateful. It was simply, purely, disapproval.
The new pack members didn't seem to be at all disturbed by the commotion. They were too excited about their new ranks, their new friends, and their new home to willingly comprehend the affair between Lubrusca and Ferus. They were ignorant, but it was Ebony's job to worry about those things, not theirs.
Snow Rose was quite popular during the outbreak of activity among the Lubruscan commons. First, Blake had shown an interest on the way to the rendezvous gathering site, then Mochi, then Parker. The wolves couldn't keep their eyes off of her, and at times, Ebony was included. She defied everything that Ebony thought he knew about the psychological simplicity of individuals. Everyone had a reason to act the way they did; Blake, to impress Snow; Mochi, to protect Macha; Ebony, because of a given order; Prim, to create a status-raising facade. Yet, there was nothing on Snow.
She just was.
The beta, after an incredibly disappointing and concerning afternoon regarding affairs, appointment, and leadership, was growing exhausted. He would retreat to his own den, but would not enter. Inside, he knew there was a soft bed of grass and dark soil that would convince him it was near midnight. His eyes would fall to a soft close and his limbs would become numb in fatigue, unable to remove themselves from the welcoming bed.
Instead, he'd sit beside it, leaning his shoulder against the stone cover. Wonderment for his alphess grew weary, but such a thought brought his attention towards Blake, who had been blatantly ignored. Out of all of the new pack members, he was the only one who was dissatisfied, and Ventus's typically compassionate nature swiftly eluded Blake's personal needs. Ebony could not fathom himself becoming involved, but a new energy had surfaced in him with the arrival of a particular, female salutary, an energy that opened up a new ability to understand the origin of other wolves' emotions. Sympathy was its name, an unkind stranger to Ebony until this very day.
Ebony would find Blake after his exploration and grant him permission to become Snow Rose's apprentice. In light of Ventus's recent decline in mental state, it would expectedly be Ebony's job to take care of the pack until, if it would ever be so, the alphess's return to competence.

As much as he disliked the playfully ditsy pup, his daughter's blissfully happy blush washed all remaining animosities clean. A soft dreamy smile had settled her onyx maw, a dazzling, beaming delight radiating from every feature. Peering up playfully at her alabaster giant, the sweet, gentle swish of her tail picked up pace once more, a curious amusement filling bright flaxen eyes. “Wuh-wuh-t ty-p-puh of ful-ful-ow-ers?” She asked sweetly, the pretty white blooms piquing gentle, puppyish intrigue. Previous tensions practically melted away, the soft, original smile he'd previously worn presenting itself once more in Macha's presence. He'd forget her dopey, bright-eyed suitors for now, his own fatherly, overbearingly fearful worries. Her own happiness was all that mattered. "Oh, this plant is called chervil," the chiming, bell like hint to her voice rang, well pleased with the pup's curiosities. Sweet, wafting scents had perforated his nostrils, a fragrantly aromatic reminder of the light bloom's location. While he personally held little interest in herbs, it never hurt to expand on the small, tiny shreds he already had. "This is one of the herbs we would use as pups to help a bellyache. It's very gentle on the stomach, perfect for a younger wolf," she beamed. A younger wolf? Inhabiting three yearlings and five pups from what he'd counted thus far, Lubrusca's beautiful lands held a wonderful abundance of youth. In that case, the colorless bloom would be a beautifully useful plant indeed. Taking care to note the location, he listened to her tender elaboration with a wonderful intrigue, wondering if the pretty little plant held any further use from preventing a pup's nausea, soon finding satisfaction. "But these days, I mainly use the leaves to help ease or prevent infection. It's quite a useful little plant~" Infection and nausea, a two in one tool he'd take care to wield properly.
A giddily amused grin sliced his snowy features at her playful, cheeky proposal, granting a ghostly-white tail reign to bat as it pleased. Exploration was exactly what he'd had in mind when he'd pitched his proposal, an innocently hopeful incentive to get a good, deep glimpse into Lubrusca's beautifully lush territory. "Lead the way," he quipped happily, teasingly flicking a frosted tail against Macha's spine. "I think it's high time we got a good look at our new home." Lubrusca's rich land was practically cloaked in fine, green foliage, plenty of potential to be reaped between the soil. Surely, they'd find something of value within the wide cluster, something worth snatching. While a wide array of feathery green ferns caught his eyes, the snowy white she-wolf expressed little interest, nor Blake, the mottled-brown male suddenly materializing at their side. Instead, they'd fixated their attentions on a bright, crimson bulb, snapping the slender stem with careful, wary precision.
"These are poppy pods," she began, softly gesturing towards the sloping, tender sides of the bulb. " The seeds that you find inside the pod are what I consider to be a staple in the world of herbs. They're useful in practically every situation that you could think of. I love to use poppy seeds, because they work wonders when calming a patient, and they're very effective for numbing pain." Pain-numbing poppy, easy enough to remember. The sweet, calming scent had already begun working its wonders; a soft, calming sleepiness tugging at timber lashes. Perfect for patient calming indeed; if he remained around it a moment longer, he might've had to be hauled back to the commons. "My mother would also feed us poppy seeds if we were ever stubborn enough to refused to go to sleep at night. I still use them even now if I'm feeling restless during the nights." Snow pressed on, a sweet, gentle sense of childhood nostalgia settling her snowy features as she recalled. "Actually, I can't exactly remember a time when I haven't used poppy seeds for one of my patients. Because it really does a lot to help against pain. I've tried a lot of different things in my time, but nothing really compares to the power of a popp- Oh, I'm rambling again. Sorry," she added, slightly embarrassed by the length of her speech. A light, airy laugh left the marble-white male's jaws, a jaunty amusement at how the sweet-natured Salutatory had lost herself in the powers of poppy. "No worries!" He chirped, the tiniest prick of playful mischief piercing his features. "I guess you could say poppy is quite poppy-lar." Thank goodness Macha couldn't hear him. As a child, he would have fled in horror if his father ever told a joke that terrible, let alone in front of two wolves he admired. "May I have a try?" Blake inquired with a whimsy amusement, whether with the plant or pun, Mochi couldn't tell. Strolling over to a bright, golden burst of flaxen petals, lightly tapping the tender blossom with a curled brown claw. "This is marigold. Chewing the petals or leaves into a paste, or poultice, will help close off wounds and prevent infection when the poultice is applied to a wound." He couldn't help but wrinkle his nose slightly, recalling the terribly bitter taste of poultice herbs upon rather unfortunately ingesting one as a pup. A plant better mean for marveling instead of tasting, in his own humble opinion. "In my personal experience, marigold is one of the best herbs for cracked paw pads. The juice in the leaves helps sooth irritated pads. I would warn you though, eating the flower is one way that someone would expel toxins or poisons out of someone. In other words, it could make you throw up," Blake concluded, an ink-tipped tail batting softly from side-to-side. And there was the point he'd been waiting for. "It's merry-gold Macha," Mochi added with a playful wink. "Because it's a happy flower."
Suddenly, a sharp, pungent scent pierced his nostrils, entirely unlike even the most horrible of herbs. A sudden alarm filled alabaster features as he opened his mouth, hoping the terrible, inevitable truth was but a mere paranoid misunderstanding. No such luck - the smoky, bitter scent struck the roof of his mouth with full, wrenching force, a terrible new testament to the truth that lay behind it. Desperately, he drew his gaze upwards, hoping for some faint sign of defiance, only to be met by an ever-rising accumulation of smoke. "That... is a fire." Oh no. No, no, no, that couldn't be the case. Surely they'd some other explanation for the fiery smokestack - it was still Brush season! Hopefully nothing more then miniscule brush fires, a hazy, tiny hint of a spark not worth getting wrapped in. "You guys get going," he chimed, already stretching lean, auburn limbs. "I'm going to alert the wolves in the commons." "It could be a Brush fire," Mochi began, intently staring into the callously billowing cloud. "Macha," he beckoned, turning around to face her with a quiet urgency, angling his alabaster head to ensure his mouth had full view. "I'll going to go for a few minutes - a min-ute. Follow Snow Rose," he gestured, pointing with a white-tipped paw. " Don't leave her for anything. I'll be back before you know I'm gone," he finished, shooting a small, weak smile her way in a brief attempt to end on a lighthearted note. "Snow," he added, his voice suddenly taking a grim, serious graveness. "Please take Macha to the river bank. I'll meet up with you there. Let's hope this smoke's only something tiny." With that, he rasped his tongue over his pup's forehead before swiftly bolting into the fray, hopefully finding only small cause for concern. No response had came of Ventus just yet, the she-wolf remaining blissfully unaware of anything besides her pups. Surely she would notice her in time, though, and so Prim waited patiently for an answer. Meanwhile, pretty orbs drifted around the commons once more, uninterested in the giddy commotion of the newbies that still remained. It plagued her that she would never fit in with all their defined friend groups, but she also pondered over the fact that she was doing it to herself. She dwelled on the sorrow that she had no real friends, but on the contrary she pushed everyone away. Prim didn't want the others to dig through her mature outer core, only to find something odd about her on the inside. In reality the yearling knew little about her core, other than her insecurities, and that was what made opening up to everyone so scary. She didn't even know herself outside of being what her Alphess wanted her to be and straying from the childishness of her age. Alas, at least she was getting somewhere in life. While someone like Parker practically refused to embrace adulthood, others were growing to rely on her, and to an extent she appreciated that. Her goal was being reached.
Apart from all the commotion, Prim found herself staring curiously at the Lubruscan Beta, Ebony, who was now slumped against his den. He looked exhausted, not necessarily because he was sleep deprived, but rather all that had happened this morning in the span of a few hours. That, she could definitely relate to, but she didn't quite look so defeated.
A sudden squeaky voice jerked Prim out of her thoughts, hues straying downwards to find a tiny white pup looking back at her. "Delta," she questioned, warily finding her way closer to Prim with an unsure smile. The yearling returned with her own friendly smile, assuring the pup that she was no threat to her. "Who are you?" she inquired with a soft tilt of her head. What was that supposed to mean? What was her name? Prim had to remind herself that the pups still had a limited vocabulary, so understanding them took a bit more thought. "My name is Prim, and I am the new Delta here," she would say, drawing out her words slightly so that the pup had more time to figure out what she was saying. "And you must be Devika," she continued, offering another smile towards the youngster.

Omega Macha “Everybody Can Make Someone's Day, Just Smile And Say Hi!”
"Oh, thi-is puh-la-ant is called-" Wait, what was she saying? "Chur-vee-ol." What kind of a name was that? It was completely weird. Besides, it was really hard to understand. Everyone had to watch what each other communicated, didn't they? Why would they choose such an impossible name then? Macha watched carefully for any clues the Salutary's lips might give her but she ended up barely able to catch the pretty she-wolf's swiftly hinted words. Sometimes she managed to grab snippets of things like “wolf” and “pup” and even caught “help” but most of the motions were just too hard to understand. A large smile and a slight nod were given in confirmation despite not understanding anything of what she had just said. Macha had learned (after a large amount of struggling) that when one didn’t understand something, you ask. After you ask once and you still don’t understand, don’t ask again. She knew that some adults could get upset, some adults would start ignoring you and some adults would repeat it over and over and over again until you couldn’t take it anymore. It was better to just collect what you could and move on. You could investigate on your own time.
The vision of another wolf approaching quickly had the airheaded Omega swinging around to see them in full view. Her tensed muscles eased as she noticed that it was only one of Snow Wose’s friends, one of the ones that smelled good, like her. Macha mentally searched for the male’s name but it had slipped her mind in the heat of the moment. A gentle, quite obviously introverted, smile appeared on her lips as he beamed at the trio.
The nutmeg male ambled over to an equally gorgeous bunch of flowers and her breath escaped her a moment. She was quick to bound after him, burying her nose in the musky smell the flowers had. To any other, it could have been weird seeing a little black pup burying her whole face in the sunset hued flower petals. Especially in a patch of flowers that didn’t have a pretty smell. But something about that sudden, nearly pungent smell attracted her whole being toward them. It reminded her of her siblings, her cruel yet likeness entwined siblings that all shared the same muggy scent. The sort of scent that an old abandoned animal den coated with stale plant products littered around would have. Like her first den. Well, maybe these flowers didn’t have quite the same scent but she found it exactly the same.
Wagging her plumes happily behind her, Macha beamed up at the adults around her, hardly noticing the slight movement of lips now and again. It crossed her mind that, everything in her life had gone uphill over the course of a few months. Everything was so good here, everything felt safe and everyone looked happy it seemed. Mokee was beaming, Snow Wose was surrounded by her beloved herbs and Macha, Macha had a new friend. A friend that made her very happy. The wolves here were kind, welcoming, inclusive. It was something she hadn't had much of when she was younger pup. At first she was on her own because... they didn't like her much because they found her abnormal. Then she had a wonderful light, something that brightened her world and accepted her for everything she was and could be. What had happened to her light? For a moment, the smile on her face wobbled, obvious pain spreading across the face that had once held happiness. Her eyes fell to her paws, glossed with tears she wouldn't dare shed in front of her friends and her family.
The marbled pup hardly noticed the looks of concern that reached her friends' faces within her bubble of ever changing emotions. But she certainly noticed the scent. The strange, horrible scent, a sudden and stinging smell that pierced her nose, strong and putrid as it invaded her senses. What was that? It smelled terrible and it kind of stung her still tearful eyes. Macha couldn't remember such a smell reaching her before. In fact, she didn't remember smelling anything similar ever before. Worry boiled inside her, the same worry she had felt not minutes before when Mokee had left her except this time it was more subtle, as if her very anxiety was unsure if this was to be worried about or not. Looking around at the adults, she was shocked to see the same concern building in them. "Muh-muh-mo-kuh-kee..." The marbled pup managed out a slight whisper, her face warping as anxiety spilled over her emotions, creating a strong mental block between her and her rational thoughts.
The scent grew stronger, more forceful. The sky was no longer blue spotted with white, fluffy clouds. It had taken on a sort of gray hue, seeming to move and churn like a gigantic ugly worm. It almost looked angry, a rage bloated creature hanging above her, blowing it's muggy, black breath in her face. Macha winced back as her imagination overflowed. Could it really be like she imagined, a big angry worm? Disgusting and terrifying.
Macha glanced toward her friends with wide eyes, not noticing that her whole body had curled inward protectively with hackles standing defensively. "Wha-what i-i-is-s go-in-g aw-aw-n?" The panicked look of the other wolves only terrified her more, pulling herself inward unconsciously every time she saw more panic and chaos around her. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted her father beckoning her forward. She was at his side instantaneously, leaning her tensed form against his own. The look she saw on his face set off multiple alarms inside her as she saw urgency in his expression. Perhaps he had tried to hide it but it made no difference anymore. "I-o-ull go-ing to go for a fee-ew min-u-et-s - a min-u-ete. Fall-low Suh-no-wa Wose." Her eyes drifted momentarily to the female's form, barely skimming her before she returned her eyes to Mokee's face. "Do-n-t lee-vuh her for an-y-thi-n-guh." Macha shook her head forcefully, ignoring whatever motions he had left to spend on them. His words scared her.
The marbled pup felt his salmon tongue swiftly swipe her head, a gesture she found familiar and touching. At the moment, however, it felt like nothing could calm the screaming alarms inside her. This thing was a monster or something wasn’t it? Maybe it was made of rain or used the weather or something? Yes, that was it! You fled from monsters but you could also hide from them, right? Same with weather, though, she wasn’t very sure that running from something like weather was possible. Which meant that hiding would have to be her only option. Moving forward with stiffened, panicky jerks, the deafened Omega scrambled toward the nearest safe place. Her body pressed against the dirt, the pressure along her ribs almost constant in a mildly comforting way. As she scuttled toward the nearest den, she was fully unaware of any voices calling her back, unaware of any concern for her being. Scrambling inside a small, musky scented space, Macha folded herself into as a small a ball as possible, covering her face as best she could with her paws as the scent of smoke flooded around her. It would go away soon and it would all be okay… right?
