Sentinel Aelin
Avoir elle est avoir les étoiles
As the glowing sun found it's way up through the dusty blue sky, Somnus truely began to emerge from the dormancy that came with the dark cover of night. Aelin had managed to catch a glimpse of a she-wolf who's rounded belly seemed just about to burst with a familiar experience that she had endured only a few months ago. The scent of another mother's milk had begun to entwine itself through the already-abundant smell, and Aelin could only pray that the newly arrived mother would make her way through her labour quicker than she had. But of course, the painful challenge of birth had all been worth it, and she had decided this upon the second that her first-born was placed in front of her while she began to crown her second. Daenerys had been so small and fragile, her tiny little whines bursting from fresh windpipes searching for her mother's caring touch. Aelin's heart ached with love, and it continued to do so even now as she merely watched them introducing themselves to anyone that would listen.
Even her bold little Jaime had eventually wriggled his way out of the den and was declaring his presence to the pack with a confidence that was definitely inherited from his father. With the thought of Draco brushing over the surface of her thoughts, the handsome brute himself appeared with a new face in tow, Daenerys scruffed in his maw as he approached. Aelin's heart still fluttered in the same way it did the first time she ever laid eyes on him, and she knew it would never change. The loving mother beckoned Daenerys over to the rest of her siblings who were milling around her paws or making themselves known to Violet.
Before she knew it, her mate planted a loving kiss upon her rounded cheek, leaving a gushing smile upon the she-wolf's maw as Draco rested his head atop her own, his grumbling vocals rolling through her ears like static electricity through the dark clouds that loomed overhead on stormy days, “Speaking is hard,” the she-wolf chuckled gently as she pressed herself against his chest, inhaling that familiar scent that was beginning to weave it's way into her own. "I know, yet you somehow do it so well," she replied with soothing tones, biting her tongue and trying not to make a sly comment about the total ease of raising six pups. Instead, she reluctantly wriggled her way out from underneath her mate's giant head, molten gold eyes resting upon the smooth caramel of his own sights as she sought his thoughts. "Eureka mentioned a hunt. We could leave the pups with the Guardians for just a little bit and really stretch our legs." Aelin hadn't been hunting in ages. It had been before she gave birth, before she fell pregnant, even before she had returned to Somnus that she had really gotten the chance to participate in a pack-hunt. She had worked beside Uzumati all that time ago, and now she was more than keen to work beside the male that had stolen her heart and given her the world in return. "What'd'ya say?"

Lakaiya was exhausted to say the least, but her hope that Jolon would come in and see her was what was keeping her awake. She wanted to see him so badly, to have him there with her to see the little joys she had brought into this world. Her belly still held some of the fat that came with pregnancy, but it would deplete with time. As she waited, it felt like years went by, but the form of her love came into the den, and she about cried seeing him. Earlier, she had only the ability to look at him as she was in pain and whisked away to the healer’s den. But now, he was there, standing in front of her. He had yet to look at her, still taking in the pups that were at her belly. Would he know they were his? She wasn’t certain. All she knew was that tears slipped from the corner of her eyes, relief and sadness washing over her. Would he still hold the affection they once had? She wasn’t certain, but as her name slipped from his lips, and their eyes locked, she held herself from rushing towards him, wanting to feel the warmth she had missed since the fire separated them. “Jolon…” She looked to him and then the bundles at her belly.
How would she explain that these were his? She could simply tell him, that they were his pups, he was a father. But there was something lingering in the back of her mind, causing her to stumble over her words. “I.. I’m sorry,” The words finally made themselves known. “I tried looking for you as fast as I could. I tried finding you,” She started rambling. “I found out I was pregnant on the way here, and I just… They’re yours,” She finally uttered out, looking up at him and bracing herself for the actions that were to come. A small whine came from her belly, and she nuzzled one of them closer, the little girl that had been pushed out of the way by one of her brothers. Bringing her back to suckle on her belly, she let out a breath. “I know that it’s sudden and I completely understand if you aren’t ready to be a father, and I know it’s been so long that you might not believe that they’re yours but I would never…” She left off, not knowing where to go from there. What was she supposed to say? She was overthinking again, and it wasn’t helping the fact that she hadn’t seen or spoken to him, breathing heavily, she tried calming herself down, biting down on her lip as she waited for him to speak. To say anything. If he were to not want these pups, she would leave and not speak with him ever again. They would be taken away from the pack immediately and without a second thought. She hushed the thought, knowing that Jolon wasn’t like that, but the seedling of doubt was already present in her mind, and she was having a hard time disposing of it before it blossomed into full on worry.

[attr="class","background"] [attr="class","jolonimage"] [attr="class","title"]Hunting Superior Jolon [attr="class","pack"]Somnus [attr="class","text"]Jolon’s eyes traveled between Lakaiya and the three wriggling fluff balls at her belly, just seeing the small pups made his heart soar, any pups made him joyous just looking at them. The silver-furred wolf listened as Lakaiya rambled, his brain just barely managing to keep up with what she was saying, but the things that stuck out most to him were the words I’m sorry, I tried, and they’re yours. Jolon’s eyes stopped their traveling then, the pups were his, he was a father, he laughed, all the emotions flooding his body and he laughed. It wasn’t the best reaction, but he had never been told he was a father, he had no prior experience, some wolves never even got this opportunity and here he was with three bundles to call his own. Jolon stepped forward, cautious not to step on the small things, and then he smiled, his eyes were wet and he nosed the pups at Lakaiya’s belly, “I’m a father, I’m a dad.”
Jolon laughed again, it felt unreal, impossible, “Lakaiya, don’t be sorry, I should have looked longer, I gave up on you, please don’t think this is your fault, do not worry about what has happened, you’re here now, and I couldn’t be happier about the fact. I love you, you’re my world Lakaiya, you have no idea how horrible it felt to think you were dead, and I would never choose anyone above you.” His amber eyes bored into her bronze until he leaned down pressing his head against hers. His emotions were still flooding through him, all at once, everything had just come cascading into him and he couldn’t be happier about it.

E L
If I got rid of my DEMONS, I'd lose my angels. Any eyes like the ones Blue cast at El's grounded form were an untold warning that whatever he was doing in that moment was unpleasant to others. She was the bedrock of his mental foundation, and was the only thing that could stop him from crumbling, and stop the voices, if only with a look.
But she looked at him less now, and when she did, it was with greater disappointment than before. She was growing accustomed to the luxury of pack life, no longer welcoming of El's uncontrollable antics. Indeed the siblings had been tied together since birth, but not it seemed the tether was weakening as interests shifted. It was the curse of friends. Friends.
He had no regard for society. His eyes travelled over those were chattering above a vast ocean of pups, their voices rising and blending together in the sweet ritual of friends. He made nothing from his study but that these rituals tainted his sisters and turned three into thirty. Siblings into packmates. He was too loyal to follow his own interests. He never had been able to drift into worries that would erase themselves upon arrival when competing with more occupying thoughts, such as friends, or pups, or a mate. He took his worry for a blessing, for the ultimate, untainted ability to sense danger and act on it without the distracted of good things. So, reasonably, El became quite confused when he found his legs standing before Eureka.
YOU'RE WELCOME.
Die.
This was where a beau would say something to explain his presence. Something like
HEY HOT STUFF.
No.
WHAT'S COOKIN' GOOD L-
NO.
A battle raged in his eyes. Eureka hadn't yet been educated on the terms of El's communication tactics. She would not know that an upwards flick of his head denoted the words "What are you doing?" To anybody normal, this would be a half-assed "hello." So he did that.

she believed she could, so she did As soon as she had settled, her forest green orbs resting gently around the atmosphere, the confident statue of Eureka forced her attention to the side. She stepped carefully around the bubbly pups before taking a seat next to her. Immediately, the lupine sat upright in the presence of her superior, an ear narrowed back nervously. Had she done something wrong? Was this spot taken by someone? Eureka showed no such suggestive attitude, although Soske, regardless, searched her eyes for any hint of disapproval. " I'd be lying if I told you it isn't always this crazy here, but we have a good family," A silently sigh of relief exited her lips as she averted her gaze. Soske smiled to herself, savoring the thought that eventually she would become more integrated into their family. As sweet as the thought was, the depths of her mind reminded her of her biggest goal. If she personally wanted to feel apart of the family, she had to talk to the others and make friends. And not just with the pups.
"We will be going on a hunt shortly. Will you join us?" The alphess' attention was back to her, and she hadn't even noticed. Soske flinched at the harmonious sound of her voice, quickly dragging her gaze to meet hers with an awkward smile. "Y-yes, of course!" she paused, her mind desperately searching for something intelligent to say. She could boast about her hunting skills, but she was sure the alphess had heard it all before. Thankfully, before she could insert some dumb remark and make a fool of herself, Soske was saved by a... good lord a damn giant. His shadow looped over her, a charming male sporting a frustrated glare. Soske felt herself wanting to shrink under his stance, her cranium lowering bashfully as he motioned a simple "hello" to Eureka. He was rather handsome, a shy smile creeping onto her features toward him, her tail wagging slightly in greeting. If he were to catch her gaze, though, her mission would immediately be aborted. Her smile would be replaced by a guilty frown, gaze dropping to his paws.
Soske was unaware of the brutes incapability to speak. He appeared mostly normal, bar his huge figure and overall perplexing aura, at the moment, anyways. The lupine glanced to Eureka in her sunken position, a distressed look pleading help. Was this male a superior as well? Her mind begged for her to bark some sorry excuse to scamper away and hide from the scene. Why the hell was she so awkward?

g e n e r a l • o c e a n a reckless wolf with a selfless interior
Like a storm, he came crashing into the commons, hardly able to stop himself from toppling over the rocks and branches that bordered the densite. He heaved as he slowed to a stop just in front of his only boy, who was following the path of Ocean's massive imprints on the wet grass. His body ached underneath the raging assortment of chemicals on their way out, but he could not say he did not enjoy the rush. He was accustomed to living as a warrior, well acquainted with the ground and heavy obstacles he ought to beat down to it, never one to feast on the thrills of a chase. But the laugh forming just above his racing heart proved that he was somebody else now, somebody more free, and more fulfilled. Still, his was pitiful in comparison to Red's agility, and he lost miserably this little game she devised, which meant one thing and one thing only to the general: Percy duty.
"Where do you think you're going?" Ocean teased, voice absent since all that raised form his throat was air from his contracting lungs, as he dipped his mouth in Link's scruff to drop him off away from the treeline. He ushered the boy forward, towards the central commons where his mother was occupied, with a nudge of his rump. "You do not go past this treeline without your mother or myself. Understood?" Ocean ordered sternly, suppressing a growl only for the fact that it could not form. "Now, where's your cat of a sister?"
His eyes searched for a tiny, slim, black figure amongst the crowd of puppies, and he was not surprised she was not there, and a little ashamed for even trying. Disappointed, nonetheless, but as he scanned the events and took in the mayhem of ants accumulating at the densite, he agreed that Midna may not have been ready for this level of social interaction. Indeed, she was not quipped for situations like these, and neither was her father. "Come, Link."
He tip-toed over several tiny forms, electing to learn their names after he located the third of his own. Zelda had the ambition of her brother, but not the haste. She was far more patient, and he expected to find her waiting politely for her father's return, but it appeared she was engrossed with Draco, later facing her disinterest in socializing with the "little guys." She was his little businessgirl; in terms of the nature of communication as a means of success, she was the most socially talented of the litter. She was Azaelia's product and hers alone, without a doubt.
"Heads up, I'm your babysitter for the day. Red's orders. Haven't been tormenting the less-advantaged today, right?" Ocean joked to Percy as he closed the distance between himself and his mate, mint optics turning in Blue's direction for a moment. At her feet, a small, black rat caught his eye. It was heartbreaking to see Eureka's children look nothing like her or anybody he'd ever known. Even their aura was so... not her. He stalled on them for a few seconds until Azaelia's silence drew him back. She was staring intently, yet vacantly, at Zelda.
"Zee, you there?" Ocean lowered his head so that he could place his face under hers, an attempt to incite movement in her eyes, or anything at all. Where has she gone?

Why were they so loud? The murmurs within his skull rattled without leaving him in 'heavenly ' silence as long as someone was around. A body, warm or cold, even a corpse could still hiss forbidden curses upon him. Optics lightly painted with green held the swirling pit of turmoil within Cassiel's mind as his fur intertwined with his sister's. Unfamiliar wolves were everywhere. Large ones, tiny ones, old ones, young ones, one new one with a scent much like his mother's, but tainted with some foreign 'poison ' was even rushed through. Were they watching? Did their eyes trail over his frame with the brazen scrutiny as he did to theirs? Did they fear the power wielded by the being sitting so placate beside him? Did they know? One caused the alabaster cretin to flinch, his snarl facing a tangerine form whose mania had taken full effect. Writhing on the ground, tail in mouth, a display not fit for Cassiel's eyes to see. So much said by just that male's actions. He was one to stay away from. Unpredictable. He could do anything to him. Anything to his mother, and yet somehow he had ended up in the center of the pack and stuck there in the dirt. But then he stood before his mother, a silent stare and jerk of his head ringing seven different alarm bells in Cassiel's mind. That kind of crazy did not deserve to stand near Eureka. It did not deserve to live within Somnus, perhaps at all. He was a threat. Pressing into his sister's side once more, his gaze turned to the approaching pale form, her presence already explained by his doting mother earlier. 'Blue ', he believed this one was. Her laying frame was prone, safe for now. At any moment she could dart forward, crushing jaws contradicting the peaceful role she was given. But she showed no signs of the same mania as the writhing creature that Cassiel was sure not to touch. Her silence, rarely cut through by some strange whistle or hum, was something the paranoid male set up a red flag at. Was that some sort of 'communication ' in another form? Could she, in fact, be in cahoots with the other male who - for a brief second of normalcy before throwing himself back to the ground - twisted his mind into nightmarish possibilities of death? One day, when he was strong enough, he would truly protect his mother from this beast that had ended up in their pack. His ever surveilling head turned back to the insufferable brood, particularly the one that had already tested Cassiel's weaknesses. "Come now brother, you're not jealous are you?" that cursed voice started again. Her probe extending and ready to pierce through the shred of self-control that he clung to, Uriel finally began her favorite game. "They are sheep, Cassiel. They have no presence with God. They are your trials," His breath halted, the prospect of whatever 'God' his dear sister saw unimaginable as he fought her words. They were his cousins, innocent pups that happened to be born at just the wrong time to witness the hell that their Alphess' trio could demonstrate. Another pup, this one he doubted was related to him, piped up at an indistinguishable face in the horde, claiming him to be 'Jaime.' "Why, because he is an ungrateful little wrench who would rather sleep his measly life away than involve himself in the events of stupid little girls," the carving voice of Uriel shaped Cassiel's opinion fully and instantly. 'Jaime' was lazy, not willing to do anything to contribute, a liability on the future ranks of Somnus. His future ranks. The girl was moronic, incapable of providing one smart statement other than a whining question. His sister's manipulations were his warzone. Each word a bullet, each sentence a mortar, all locked on his paranoia. Exploiting him so expertly that the pup couldn't find a flaw in it, or escape for that matter. He was lost within her swarm of lies, trapped by his own mind in a vicious cycle that sparked the pale-bodied pup to lurch forwards almost involuntarily. He peeled form his sister's side, a line of intent carved with suddenly raging jade orbs. Reaching the brood, Cassiel's hackled instinctively prickled. His spine tingled with unreleased tension. He wanted to lash out, to set free the ugly green 'demon ' that infected him so horribly. "There are too many of you. So many mouths to feed, bodies to keep warm. All clumsy, all rude, strutting around with the perfect family. Just look at mommy and daddy, the happy perfect couple. And you're loud. Your yells can be heard miles away, drawing in God knows what. You and your strong brotherly bond racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause" Cassiel hissed, his rambling of the pent up jealousy that had accumulated from just this morning. His outburst was aimed toward's Oberyn, his attempted assailant, but as his eyes lost focus and his rambling grew more and more spiked with pure green poison, he became a shotgun blast. Anyone in range could get hit by his wave of moss tinted hatred for his cousins. Was it warranted? For Cassiel, yes. An attack, the possibility of so many relatives being useless imbeciles so 'lovingly ' planted into his head by Uriel - what better reason to justify it. To anyone else? Unlikely. Their voices just grated on his ears. He couldn't handle their voices, her voice, his own voice. It was just too loud.Uriel @blue Pup Azrael El @oberyn Alphess Eureka

The emotions that flooded over Lakaiya as she watched Jolon’s reaction brought her to tears. He at first laughed, something that sparked fear in her belly, but as he stepped forward, careful of his children that lay at her belly, all the confirmation she needed was him bending down and gently nuzzling them for her to relax, her mind finally coming to a halt with the spiraling thoughts that were sending her anxiously into overdrive. She listened to Jolon speak, the words that came from his mouth were what she needed to hear. Although she was unhappy with the fact that he had given up on finding her, she wouldn’t ever hold it against him. They both were in the same line of thought. If he had not been here, she would have carried the pups to term, and settled down here if the Alphess would have let her. She would have settled into pack life, her children without a father, and settled with the fact that she would never have seen Jolon again. Searching had only weighed on her mind, and she couldn’t imagine how he felt. She kept eye contact with him as he spoke, and a choked cry of happiness came from her as she listened to his words. He loved her. He truly did, and as his head pressed against hers, she met him there as best she could without disturbing the pups at her belly.
“I love you Jolon,” She breathed, tears finally clearing as she pulled away for a moment, sweeping her tail closer to her as she shuffled a bit to get more comfortable. “It’s almost surreal. That I would find you here and that I brought these little ones into the world,” She spoke, looking up with glimmering bronze eyes. “Do you have any ideas for names? I hadn’t really thought of any. Poor planning on my part,” She chuckled, before nuzzling each. “Two boys and a girl,” She spoke, looking towards him to see if he had any ideas. Once he spoke, she would think it over. But while he was thinking, she memorized every feature that she missed, every part of him that she had fallen in love with. Everything that she knew was her mate. The pregnancy had been terrifying, and the idea of having to live without Jolon was as well, but now he was here, and he was here for good. Nothing would keep them apart. Especially not now.

Receiving no reply from her father, Arya did nothing but curl up into an even tighter ball of fur between the big male's legs. Nervous, she watched one of his brothers rolling over and scanning over the whole ordeal. Many grown ups roamed the common grounds, alongside their respective offspring, yet, even if those little bodies shared her age, the small she-wolf could not bring herself to go out and interact with them, preferring to seek refuge beneath daddy. Unfortunately for the little girl, Draco had other plans. "N-No, no, Dad!" cried out Arya, as her father left her side. All alone, the young she-wolf stared at the other wolves scaredly, not even being able to run off to their den again. Feeling fur brushing against fur, Arya turned around to see her mother, Aelin, bringing her a well needed sense of familiarity and security. "Look, Arya," the white female said, as she pointed with her nose at the little runts that were playing around the Alphess. "They're your cousins," said Aelin, trying to give her daughter confidence. Directing a glance to a certain ivory coated she-wolf, the mother explained: "And this is Violet. She's the Beta of Somnus. Introduce yourself, she's very nice, and I'm sure she'll absolutely adore you,"
just before giving Arya a little nudge of encouragement. The pup tried to accumulate courage, attempting to bring herself to just go and say hi, choosing to firstly introduce herself to the adult rather than those of her age. Though, instead of walking over to her, this "Violet" just came walking to her! Chuckling, the ivory she-wolf just talked to Aelin about god knows what. Only thing she understood right there and then is that there was a stranger, a grown up no less, just at her side talking to her mother. Panic got the best of the little pup, and suddenly she found the idea of talking to those of roughly her same size more appealing. Walking up to the pups, Arya caught up about half of a ramble, said by one of the little ones she couldn't really recognize. "-racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause," said the boy, as the small she-wolf tried to understand his sentence, knowing well the meanings of all those words separately. "...Hello?" asked the daughter of the sentinel, praying to anyone who would listen to her that she wasn't interrupting anything important.

Murdoch, Salutary of Somnus
L eft standing outside, he watched Eureka move towards the newcomer and El. He watched with attention at their interactions before gazing at the rest of the pack. Everyone was out and about, enjoying the weather. A small smile graced his lips as he enjoyed watching the interactions of everyone. Murdoch began to move away from the safety of his den, entering into the main circle that was their commons. An ear flicked uneasily as he gazed out into the sea of pups. He had been dealing with these feeling since the first litter. This uneasiness in his chest was hard to put a word to. It wasn't a bad uneasiness, but more of an uncertainty. Each little one had its own personality. And as he watched Ocean bring back a stray pup he finally realized what this new feeling was. It was a paternal kind of emotion, one where he genuinely cares for the safety of each and every pup he helped deliver. He didn't feel a sense of possessiveness the parents were sure to feel towards their young, but he felt responsible for them. He was there for all their births and helped in the process, except for three. The three Eureka birthed were ones he was not witness to, but still he felt those same protective feelings. He wondered why but a glance at Eureka confirmed it all. He related to her pups, in a way, just as he felt towards Eureka's experience on a personal level. He still had yet to really talk to her but he hoped to share that piece of himself with her, at least a little. The sudden movement of one of her own brood lurched forward to another pup, the intent appeared malicious. Approaching the form, he laid down on his stomach and listen to the interaction unfold. "There are too many of you. So many mouths to feed, bodies to keep warm. All clumsy, all rude, strutting around with the perfect family. Just look at mommy and daddy, the happy perfect couple. And you're loud. Your yells can be heard miles away, drawing in God knows what. You and your strong brotherly bond racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause." As Murdoch listen, he couldn't help but relate to the puppish bundle of greed. His own personal jealousy Murdoch could not relate, but the feeling itself he definitely could. The first year he discovered what his family truly meant made him jealous of every other 'normal' wolf. He hated them the most, for a time. Until someone showed him a different, more positive light. Murdoch worried a little bit from the outburst, more from the adults who might look at him negatively. Outbursts of emotions could be worrying, but being so small and not knowing how to express such a hurtful emotion must be tough on him. For starters, he would simply introduce himself, get a bridge of common ground. "My name is Murdoch, you can call me Doc, what's your name?" he simply asked, scooting himself so he was now merely a few feet away from the grouping of pups.

Benjen twitched watching the interaction with his brother and the other pup. "There are too many of you. So many mouths to feed, bodies to keep warm. All clumsy, all rude, strutting around with the perfect family. Just look at mommy and daddy, the happy perfect couple. And you're loud. Your yells can be heard miles away, drawing in God knows what. You and your strong brotherly bond racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause" Benjen blinked glancing at his brother curiously, trotting to stand next to Oberyn the young pup seemed shaken by Cassiel. An unknown force seemed to overtake Benjen, he couldn't even control himself. "What's your problem? Back off my brother!" The abrupt loudness surprised even himself, but he wouldn't step down. The other pup had angered him and for what? Cassiel was simply yelling to yell, Oberyn hadn't meant to cause him any harm it was all an accident. Benjen grew curious about the pups before him, they were quiet and reserved but still pups, why were they different? He narrowed his eyes looking for some physical indicator as to why these pups were so unlike him and his siblings.

The pause after his question left a weird disconnect in the air. Watching Azaelia think was like watching grass grow, like something was missing. He became concerned. Over the last few months Percy had been witness to several things in the pack, most of them good, but this had him concerned. The distance behind her eyes.... was she even there?
Percy was left standing off to her side and a sudden lack of self confidence had him locking up. Between when Eureka return and Ocean's departure, the two were there side by side. Not a word, or really any interaction. He was watching her as if she was the last string he had. Had she not been the soul purpose of his and Merida's travels?
A look of shock slowly passed by his face as he saw Ocean carrying his son back to the commons. The time had passed by quickly leaving him feeling a little concern. He glanced towards Ocean, eyes filled with apprehension. But the male did not catch his worry right away.
"Heads up, I'm your babysitter for the day. Red's orders. Haven't been tormenting the less-advantaged today, right?" His brother in-law joked. Any other day and Percy would come back with a quip as good as any, but his sister's slowness and vacancy became his priority.
"Nothing they wouldn't enjoy," Percy, still, joked back however, his tone was dry and was accompanied by only a half smirk at his half-assed attempt.
"Zee, you there?" Those words filled the brother with worry. So perhaps this was something new if Ocean was concerned. He felt fear slowly grip at his limps, ice cold tendrils at the base of his feet. Choking a little, he coughed as naturally as he could, trying to clear the emotion building there.
"Perhaps a day at the lake might be a better idea than a hunt, what do you think Bro?" Percy suggested, looking to Ocean with clear, worry in his eyes. He stressed the word bro, hinting that he'd like Ocean to go along with the idea if Zee tried to go hunting. He only hoped Ocean would take this as seriously as he did in that moment.

- the constant happiness is curiosity -
It seemed Eureka was upwind of the miniature war stirring in the center of the commons, where blossoming relationships between the noble litters were expected to form. She could not make out the details from where she stood as Soske’s exclaimed reply gained in the ears and the eyes were adjusting to an enlarging, sunset figure known as El, but she was aware of the inconsistency of the sounds of laughter and the winds of instigation becoming more and more rampant at the densite. She was accustomed to the silence of her children, and did not expect to hear one of them crying so, however, what failed to surprise her was that it was Cassiel whose, among the reclusive trio, was the subject of her divided attention.“Splendid,” Eureka responded to the crystal beaut as a stiff breath from her constricting lungs formed into a hesitant chuckle. Her focus was splitting three ways as El’s presence finally became apparent, as did his forward personality. She supposed the gesture he had prepared for the encounter was a greeting, but those were not common with the paladin. It was equally likely, if not more so, that he was inquiring about the specifics of the hunt she had earlier announced. His militant and impersonal nature suggested to her that this was the assumption she should accept, for she could not imagine he’d like to entertain the females with mute colloquy. She was unaware of his visits to her den in the evenings when she fought good rest over night terrors and all-consuming, fatherless infants, so it was among many of his curiosities the restless look in his eyes that he was aiming at her. She did not assume that it meant anything of the smutty sort, for those thoughts rarely approached her these days. But that did not mean she was unaware of the season and the affections it bestowed upon the bachelors of all species. Finally, she elected a fair guess to be true: El was taken passionate over Soske. The possibility relied on Soske’s utter beauty, the expression she posed in response to his arrival, and the undeniable mystery of her presence—males were drawn to such things as much as they claimed to favor simplicity. A childish smirk arose on her maw, as if she now carried a secret that the very lovers in question were yet to discover themselves, but she was able to suppress a sorry laugh. She instead formulated in her head what she imagined was a divine plan to work a bit of an innocent miracle into the heart of Somnus. It was greatly needed.“We’ll meet at hunting grounds shortly. I'll gather the others,” she said to the both of them, eyes leaping between the paladin and the ivory novice, before composing a subtly indicative smile. “You are welcome to head out together now, if you’d like.” She dotted away swiftly, lasting only long enough to capture their final expressions and to witness their decisions, but it was not her priority now to swoon over vicarious fantasies.“... You and your strong brotherly bond racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause.” The tired mother knew more had been said, and although the words had passed over her ears while she conversed with El and Soske, she needed not wonder what they might have been. At first, she was filled with angst over the emotional eruption that was brewing warm amongst the sensitive youth, untrained in their responses to social threats and insecurity. Benjen’s exclamation provided no aid to the increasing throbs in her chest, which were soon to reach her head.... Until she heard his voice; the salutary, the eldest, kindest, and the one who had tended to every birth but Eureka’s; yet he treated her bastard children in kind with the litters he administered upon their first welcome into the world. Throughout their conversations and her several treatments since her return from Noctis, she had gathered that Murdoch was a wolf burdened by unkind experiences, just as the alphess now was, experiences unworthy of his pure heart and unbroken soul. He never complained about his past, but just as anyone else, it shaped who he was now. But all shapes have a shadow, and despite the lack of virtual evidence, Eureka could see his just as well as he could see hers."My name is Murdoch, you can call me Doc, what's your name?” A heavy heart’s beat steadied and a long, outward wind loosened the strain in her chest. She was at his side now with her neck bending in his direction to admire his composition towards her questionable product, Cassiel. Whatever the salutary had to say to him, whatever wisdom he could offer the child that she could not in this moment, she trusted him. Her body stood now over her brother’s pup, her body acting as a border between her litter and his, though it were not her children she was protecting. In truth, she could not promise that the brutes of her litter would not cause harm to Draco’s. She knew them to be bold in their approach to aggression.“Settle down, all of you,” she said with a sternness she had only ever used in the presence of her brother and her children, which were often not too far from the same. Her gilded optics, royal in the dominance they had found, glided over everybody in view. “I would say we’re all quite hungry. All hunters should make their way to the hunting grounds now. I will not force mothers to participate, but I do expect the guardians to stay behind, and a few willing others. The help is needed.” Whatever time was needed for the pack to disperse was the time she waited to return to her litter, and Murdoch. He had been given enough time to settle Cassiel down. “Thank you, Murdoch. Could you stay here with them during the hunt? They could use someone like you…”Eureka wanted to stay herself. She wanted to stay here and hold her children inside of her den, just the four of them together. She wanted to tell them that she understood, and apologize for bringing them into a world so cruel to lives like theirs, lives that were but innocent products of condemnable acts. But she had been away long enough, and could no longer hide her face from her family and strip herself of her responsibility to them. She owed everything to them after what she had done, and Murdoch had just given her the push, the confidence she needed to make this decision. She had a long way to go before she would learn how to be an alphas and a mother at the same time, a mother who did not choose to be so.—Exit to Hunting Grounds—

With a little distraction from the other pups, Link had failed to follow his father to hunt that stupid mountain lion before the massive brute returned, asking where he was going, and picked the little pup up by the scruff to bring him back into the clearing. Utter dismay fell upon his maw, his brows furrowing and his mouth falling open to start a complaint. Although, all that fell from his mouth was a prolonged “Heeeeyyyyyy!”The little boy tucked his tail against his belly and brought his legs up to curl into a small ball, a pout ever present on his features. Why hadn’t father given him a chance to show what he could do? He knew for a fact he could have given that mountain cat a thorough wholloping and sent it running for another pack with its tail between it’s legs. Link supposed he would have to wait for another instance to show how well he could protect his family. "You do not go past this treeline without your mother or myself. Understood?" Ocean spoke after he dropped him off and nudged him towards mama. “But-” tiny ears fell upon his head before he was cut off with another question. "Now, where's your cat of a sister?" Ocean proceeded along the commons, searching for something or someone whom he could only assume would be his midnight colored sister considering his other sister was out chatting away, probably still in the den, unwilling to communicate. Golden eyes watched the massive form tip toe over the tiny bodies of the other pups milling about in the center of the clearing, and Link visibly shrunk before following along. “I only wanted to help you..” he muttered before increasing his pace to a trot to keep up with the General’s much larger stride. The little pup wondered where Zelda had gotten off to, not really in the mood for introductions today. General Ocean Pup Zelda Midna

Cersei's green eyed gaze moved from the big white Beta and her pretty purple eyes to her brother as his honey coated pelt pressed into hers, his little introduction to violet sounding rather sour as he uttered it. The fourth born wondered why he had woken up so grumpily, turning her head to face him as best she could before completely loosing her balance in true pup fashion, a pristine white pelt landed in the plush green grass of the commons. Due to her close proximity to the ground however, it was not a hard fall and the weeds helped to soften her landing further. Without a word she watched as her father approached and Jaime left her in the grass to go press against him and lay between his paws, her honey colored ears pinned against her stark white cranium. 'How dare he.' she thought to herself. Without a second thought, Cersei was on her paws, padding over to Jaime as purpose radiated from her, green eyes practically ablaze, she paid no mind to her parents' PDA, too consumed with getting her brother back in typical sibling fashion; she launched herself onto her brother, catching one of his ears between her sharp puppy teeth before giving what was meant to be a menacing growl, and probably sounded like the exact opposite to her parents or any other wolf that had heard a grown wolf growl, she pulled on the soft skin of his ear; her intentions to express that he had upset her abundantly clear.
