Lakaiya’s eyes watched her mate as he woke from slumber, eyes blinking open as they locked with hers. She felt her stomach flutter at the simple notion towards her. His tongue swept across her cheek, and she felt like she was flying. She would never get over this feeling, especially not after how long she had gone without him by her side. And now their little family was complete. Although they had lost one of the pups, two had survived. They were healthy, alive. They were there with them, and nothing could be better. As she looked towards the love of her life, he gave her a nuzzle underneath her chin, coming to rest his muzzle against her chest fur.
“Lakaiya,” He spoke, looking towards her. She cocked her head as best she could, all ears for her mate as her bronze eyes shimmered with happiness. “I want to run away,” He spoke. And she was a little confused. What did he mean by that? Somnus was a place where he found happiness. “Love, what do you mean?” She asked, looking towards him with eyes that were wide in shock as he pulled away, his own looking into hers with earnest intent.
“I want to go back to roaming the free lands with you. Sibyl and Reko can come with,” He spoke. “I love you, and I feel like our adventure shouldn’t end here,” He said, and she gave a small nod, a smile coming upon her face. How could she say no to him?
“Let’s gather the pups. I’m sure we can slip away unnoticed,” She spoke, bringing herself to her feet as she padded out of the den, quickly darting for Sibyl and Reko’s dens, rousing each pup as she did so. “Get up, your father and I are taking you on an adventure,” She spoke, a cheerful tone to her voice. She looked behind her towards the pack wolves that were in the commons. They were all very nice, but Lakaiya could not call them family. She was far too new. And if she wasn’t so madly in love with Jolon, she would have persuaded him to stay. But she took his words to heart, and knew that he meant every single one of them.
With Sibyl and Reko in tow, she followed Jolon through Somnus territory, heading towards the free lands once more, not knowing what they had in store.

Nevermore listened as Merida came out of her den. She could hear every single movement the she-wolf made, it was much sharper than a regular wolf’s hearing, she was sure. While most didn’t react to the smaller noises - that she could hear them reacting to - she could. Every little chirp, she could find where they were immediately. How far away they were, and their general direction. She made for a good tracking wolf, but she found her uses better in herbal healing. She didn’t need to know how far to jump, or how to hunt, she just knew the herbs by every smell that came across her nostrils, and from there she could decipher how to use them. Wounds held still, so she would never have to hunt for them. A non-moving target was what was best for Nevermore, that much she knew. Even if she wanted to help feed her pack, she knew her skills would be wasted trying. She couldn’t see what others could, and would hurt herself more than help the pack.
Her heart warmed as Merida spoke of her as her favorite healer. She had found a great friend in Merida, one that she could not have imagined would have happened if the trio had stayed by themselves. They would not have made so many wondrous friends. They would have still had each other, sure, but they would not be able to call a place home, and would instead be roaming the rogue lands, looking for something to occupy their time in their travels. Nevermore was able to push forth in her path of healing, El was finding love in one of the more unexpected places, and Blue was thriving as well. Nevermore’s thoughts brought themselves to her sister, knowing that she was somewhere around there. She just wondered where. Blue would never venture too far from the commons unless she had someone with her, and she would have liked to know where her sister was. Her scent was no where in the commons, and so Nevermore took herself towards where she knew Blue’s den was in comparison with Merida’s. She would follow the she-wolf in a second, but she needed to make sure that her sister was alright.
Black paws moved forward, bringing her to the edge of the den before she stopped as she felt nothing but air in front of her. She knew that calling out to her sister would be of no use, so instead she thumped her paw at the end of her den, hoping that she would get a reply. She heard nothing coming from the inside of the den, so she wondered where exactly her sister could have run off to. Picking up the stale scent at the very edge of Blue’s den, she cocked her head, wondering why it was heading in the direction of the borders. Blue would never go out there alone. Especially not when Nevermore was the only set of ears she usually had. Nevermore quickly picked up her pace and followed after the scent trail, knowing that she would have to find her sister and make sure she was okay

NOTE: Nevermore is not coming back. I’ve decided that I do not want to keep her character and thus her and Blue have both been written out of the roleplay c: | 567 words

| | Lavender eyes looked towards the she-wolf that approached her. Her best friend, Azaelia. With her pups, she had been extremely busy. But Violet still found time to visit her as much as she could aside from her Beta duties and sneaking off every once in awhile with Corvidae to get up to some midnight antics that would leave her tired in the mornings. She knew that others had probably noticed the change in her behavior. After all, she had finally put her duties to the sidelines for certain moments with the male, and that was noticeable enough. A ‘good morning’ came from Azaelia, and Violet gave a small nod. “Good morning,” She spoke softly, lavender eyes looking across the clearing as they sat in silence for that moment. It was peaceful, like it had been before now. They didn’t have so many wolves, but the moment still reminded her of one of her first times in the pack.
--
Lavender eyes scanned the clearing, nervous. She was new here, and she wasn’t sure exactly what was going on. It was her first morning in the pack, and Violet was extremely nervous. What would she do today? She was the Omega of the pack, Rage had seen to it that she was. He hadn’t been that fond her when he had found her, but she was allowed into the pack no less, and she would show them that they had no reason to turn her away. Lavender eyes lingered on the form of Azaelia, coming from her den as she moved out into the clearing for the morning. The silver she-wolf trotted over to her, and her nervous twitch of her tail was the only indication that she was nervous, while her heart was racing inside. “Good morning,” The words came from the she-wolf, and Violet gave a nod to her. Azaelia came to sit down next to her, finding herself comfortably waiting in the presence of the Omega.
--
Violet opened her eyes, and had hardly noticed Azaelia leaning against her until she heard the apology that came from Azaelia’s maw. Violet tilted her head, wondering what exactly she had to apologize for, but she wouldn’t question it. Instead, she brushed her flank up against the other she-wolf. “I hope Ocean isn’t the reason you’re not getting any sleep. I might have to go knock his head against a rock,” She said with a chuckle. As she spoke of the black wolf, she noticed him gathering the three of their children. He spoke to Azaelia, and she simply sat quietly, waiting for the interaction to be over. Looking towards the four as they departed, her eyes were caught onto the black male that she knew all too well.
The love of her life, Corvidae. He was approaching, and it took a massive amount of willpower for her to not walk over to him and nuzzle him immediately. He greeted them kindly enough with a good morning, a ‘love’ sent her way just to be cheeky. She gave him a roll of her eyes, but couldn’t help the smile that came upon her face. After he examined Azaelia and noticed her lethargy, he zipped off with a wink towards her and returned shortly after, an herb in his mouth that he placed in front of Azaelia. Violet zoned out right there, thinking more so of the time that she had spent with her mate, and how she was going to tell the pack. Maybe she would start off small, and only tell a couple wolves.
But then again, word would spread rather quickly, and there would be no point in just telling a couple, and instead telling the whole pack at the same time would be better. But that's just how Violet thought. She knew that when it came to Draco and Aelin, their mateship was known and they weren’t given a second shot. But she wasn’t sure if anyone would have foreseen her and Cori’s mateship. If they had, she would be surprised. As surprised as someone who was terrible at lying could be.
Azaelia had departed by the time she came back to the real world, and her eyes landed on Cori, soft with happiness as she admired the black male for a moment before speaking. “How about I help you with herb hunting?” She asked, looking towards him with hopeful eyes. He had to know that they would for sure hunt herbs, but overall, it was just a ploy to get him out of the commons, and spending some well deserved time together. Not that they never got it, but she craved to have him all to herself for just a moment. | |

The Apprentice was thankful that the previous Alphess made a move to eat the flower he placed before her. Her regular morning lethargy hadn't gone unnoticed by the male. He only wished that he could muster up the courage to talk to Murdoch about her health. While he was still an Apprentice, he didn't know if he would be even allowed to interfere with the close friendship that the Salutary and mother shared. Nonetheless, the least that Cori could do was give Azaelia a well-deserved pick-me-up. As the General and his pups left for the borders, Zee's frame slowly moved to also head to Somnus' outskirts. At last, he could enjoy his mate's company in peace. Not that Azaelia was any sort of interruption, but he hadn't seen the beautiful flower since the night before, and that was such a long wait! "How about I help you with herb hunting?" the brilliant suggestion fell from velvet lips with intent hidden beneath it. He knew that he would need to stock up and make sure that Doc had enough of the most common herbs, and that Nevermore would be okay in the commons or if she needed anything. His mismatched gaze swung around, searching for his blind companion only to spot her frame trailing off towards the borders as well. For a moment he contemplated following her, but the she-wolf knew her way around Somnus just as well as any sighted wolf. That, and he wanted to spend as much time with Violet as possible. The Beta was busy with her duties just as he was busy with his own, so having any time to see the true beauty in the full light of day was an opportunity he wouldn't miss. "I'd be honoured," a blunt, toothy grin was plastered wide on Corvidae's face. His tail broadcast his obvious glee. Making sure that his precious stone was tucked within his cheek so that nothing terrible would happen to the loving couple, the Apprentice cheekily swung his tail against her legs for a brief moment. "Shall we?" he nodded towards the River Haven, knowing that the pair of them would probably have the most privacy there. Truly, he just wanted to bask in the beauty that his mate radiated, but he knew of just the gift he could get her that grew near the lake. It would match her beautiful eyes and bloomed in the springtime that rolled easily into the pack over the past month. If he could find the perfect bunch of the flowers he sought then he was sure that Violet would be happy. -Exit to Somnus River Haven- Beta Violet

An orchestra of thoughts cycled in Uriel's brain to the steady beat of morning bustle. She tapped to the slow rhythm of monotonous conversations, ears pivoting when dissonance struck her intuition, but nothing was out of tune. Somnus was, in all ways Heaven would see it, a masterpiece, but in no way perfect. Drawing her hawkish gaze across the commons, her eyes dipped to one of her favorite characters in her play as it took off with the general. Zelda was so quick to renounce her friendships when the reward proved favorable. Perhaps Uriel will seek her employment in the future, though when the time comes, the little princess will never know whose hand she was playing. None of them will. Quiet ~ No more of that. The show was starting. She rolled over in the wet grass to expose her stomach to the bluest sky, picking up a small stone on the way for the pleasure of her gritting teeth. Azrael had invited little Arya to play; How darling of him! Approaching the scene was Cassiel, who was no more curious than he was invested. No, he had no place in the social scheme of Somnus; he was merely distracting himself from the voices Uriel had planted in him since the outbursts of Benjen and Oberyn. Unfortunately for their sister, the stupid brats' unfounded declaration of disdain towards Cassiel had consequences. "They have betrayed you. They have put against you uncorrected measures of pain. Correct it," Uriel whispered to Cassiel as he passed, words penetrating him like venom before she resumed a posture of feigned innocence as she lay blissfully upon the grassy floor. If I got rid of my DEMONS, I'd lose my angels. His feet were ready for the ground as he arose to a new day. As he did, his eyes lazily rolled open, glazed over with the remnants of last night's memories. He could have sworn he heard Eureka whisper "I love you" as he stalked past her den, but there was no telling if it was his inner-tormenter tricking his ingenuous emotions. It couldn't be, for the voice was telling him something else...
Upon his failure to locate either of his siblings, the air went still and the colors of the world changed like night and day. The army of trees wrapping around the commons became swallowed with a haunting, dull grey, and their leaves seemed to rustle as if they were tense with nerves about what secret they knew that El would have to tragically discover himself.
His sisters were gone.
Without sparing a moment of thought, he rushed into the maze of flora and followed their scents, heaving dramatically without any intention to stop. Until the last faint mark of Somnus signaled that he was inches now from two worlds... theirs, and hers.
He stood between the angels who gave oxygen to his soul. He already felt himself beginning to suffocate in their absence. But as he looked in the opposite direction, he felt the air return to him. He had only loved two wolves in his lifetime, yet he had now found a third. Blue had begun telling him it was his turn to be loved, that he had given his sisters so much and deserved happiness in return. Could he truly find happiness without them here?
He stood in the dirt for roughly an hour, claws digging into the earth and eyes peering into the empty space of the atmosphere, never once closing for a refreshing blink that would wash away his contemplations. He had come to agree that his sisters had done this to him for a reason. They weren't stupid enough to get lost, not that Nevermore of his. And Blue was just the type to make a drastic decision for what she believe was right, regardless of how it hurt. Wherever they were, they were alive, and so was he, thanks to them. Now it was his turn to live, whatever that meant. He just... didn't quite know how.

- the constant happiness is curiosity -
There she stood knee deep in silence when Murdoch agreed to her request, revealing no suggestion that there was anything really wrong with her. It almost seemed like he wasn't doing this because e thought he could come up with a diagnosis, but simply because Eureka needed it. She loved her salutary with all her heart.Despite how deep her affections were for him, she could not will her lips to move in coordination with the shock she felt when he kissed her forehead. It was just like Daddy... and for a second her heart swelled with his memory. While Murdoch did not possess a nearly equivalent temper as her father did, the gentle healer really had been like a father to her these past two years, and she had now begun to realize why she cared so deeply for her children despite how they were feared by others. Just like Eureka, he was not turned away by their mystery. It only invited him deeper into their lives. The mother had never believed anything more when Murdoch told her everything would be alright. "With you around, I know," she whispered with a shy smile and a friendly wink.Among the other friends who she had taken for granted was Red, who had replaced Murdoch's position with a cheerful smile that was oddly, but pleasantly, out of place. The alphess returned a curious grin and greeted Red in response. "Ah, I'd love to hear them.
"Either take you out to have some adult time, or take a few pups out for training with myself and perhaps another adult, Jolon or El I was thinking, what do you think?"
"If I'm being honest," Eureka began, reducing to a warm whisper. "I just can't expose my children to violence. I know what sifts through the other half of their blood... but they don't, and they can't."
For a moment she sank so deep into her storm that she had momentarily forgotten who she was speaking to. She trusted Red with her feelings about the matter––she was there, after all.
"Maybe putting together a small hunt would be more suitable. They're getting to be that age, now, and experience is the best way to learn." Didn't she know. "I'll find El and let him know." The alphess, though quite embarrassed about her honesty and nervous about the information she had just revealed, gave Red an apologetic smile and pivoted towards where she thought El would be, but not before turning back once towards the general.
"Thank you, by the way, for being here through everything. I know you must think about your brother every day. I'm here for you as much as you are for me... I hope you know that."
The feeling in her stomach that vibrated when she did not find El in his usual morning position took the alphess aback. "Where is that El, anyway?" She was unordnarily concerned with the circumstance, so she followed his tracks as she underwent and investigation to locate him. Was it odd that she knew exactly where he was each morning? Was it invasive?
When she found his feet curling at the edge of the borders, her heart sunk into her stomach. She knew this could only mean one thing: Blue and Nevermore were gone. They left him. Unless they were mysteriously kidnapped, Eureka knew the girls would never leave El except for very good reason, and it was highly likely that they would not return.
"El," Eureka whispered across the treeline, somewhere between him and the commons' clearing. She inched towards him and eventually planted herself at his side. It was the only time she'd ever disturbed him when his eyes were so... empty. She sat by his side in silence for several minutes, allowing herself time to empathize with what a lifetime of reticence had been like for him. She could say she's sorry about what had happened, but what good would that do? If "I'm sorry" cured anything, Eureka would have been saved long ago. But she knew better. What she did know, however, that was El needed right now was a friend.
"Everything you've been doing for me in secret these past six months––the nightly check-ups, restocking my den, all of it––I've noticed. The little things you have given to me in the short time I've known you have kept me and my children alive. You did all of that for somebody you have no personal obligation to." Eureka began quietly, leaning a little closer to softly put her weight on his shoulder. It was the first time she'd felt the true mass of his body.
"I can only imagine what it's like to be loved by you, like you do your sisters. You have a beautiful heart. If you choose to go with them, I will not try to stop you. But I want you to know that you have a home here, too... with me, with Somnus."
Eureka used his body to push herself from the ground and slowly begin making her way back to the commons. "We'll be having a family hunt with the children if you'd like to join us. They could use your guidance. If I don't see you there, I won't come looking for you. I'll understand your decision either way."

Post by Pup Jaime on Oct 31, 2019 6:55:05 GMT -8
Jaime watched as his sisters began speaking, craning his head over their forms to look towards Azaelia who was sending her babies and her mate off as they went on their adventure before Even though he was just a pup, he had noticed the change in the Noble and he knew her pack noticed as well. There was tension, and some wolves, like her mate, had seemed to be walking on eggshells, unsure of what he would walk into with every passing day. Jaime brought his eyes back to look towards Arya, ensuring her safety. The pup had made it a habit not to meddle into pack happenings too much if he could help it. Pups were meant to be pups for as long as they could, they had the whole rest of their lives to participate in pack issues and he wasn't in a hurry to start now. Gilded eyes rested on Arya for only a few minutes longer before they found themselves on his sisters once more and rose to his paws, a yawn splitting his maw as he stretched out his limbs once more. "I don't know about you two, but I'm bored and I think maybe we should see if mom or dad would be willing to take us out somewhere. Maybe we could practice hunting or something, I dunno." the pup shrugged his shoulders as he looked to his parent's den, finding they were no longer occupying it. He wasn't opposed to hunting either of them down though. It didn't take long for him to find Draco first, the alpha having secluded himself in the edges of the commons, watching Arya just as he had been only a few moments prior. Uriel and Cassiel never gave Jaime any reason to like or trust them, their conniving words either pitting the pups against one another or making them feel insuperior. Their words always sat in the air, filled with venom, embedding themselves into the tiny bodies of their peers, stinging and burning long after they had even said it. The moment Eureka's pups entered the pack was the moment Jaime didn't even feel safe in his own home, something evil hid behind their eyes and behind their words. And he was sure it was only a matter of time before the devil spawn acted on that evil. Jaime pressed himself into Cersei's side, motioning towards their father before making his way over to him. Honeyed hues melded with the darker fur of his father as the pup brought himself to sit beside the alpha, his side pressed firmly into the older male's side, both of their eyes set on his youngest sister, hawk-like, as Uriel and Cassiel seemingly minded their own business. "I thought maybe we all could go out and practice something. Hunting, or even fighting. I want to get out of the commons for a while." Jaime spoke softly before swiveling his ears forward, willing the words he could have sworn Uriel had whispered to Cassiel to funnel into his ears and unease settled, heavy, in the pit of his stomach the longer he stared.

Cersei yawned as seemingly nothing seemed to be happening in the Somnus Commons. Sure her surroundings were seemingly always bustling with her pack mates all scrambling to do their part, success was yielded in numbers but Cersei could not help but feel her lack of purpose. She was a daughter of an alpha, sure, she had lots of beautiful siblings sure, but nothing superior was destined for her, no grand purpose awaited her and this brought about a sick feeling in her stomach as her blond ears pinned back, emerald green eyes looking down at the grass until she heard her older brother Jaime rise from where he had sat."I don't know about you two, but I'm bored and I think maybe we should see if mom or dad would be willing to take us out somewhere. Maybe we could practice hunting or something, I dunno." he suggested before leaving to go find their parents, being inseparable from her brother Cersei followed him without question, suppressing what doubt she had setting within the very core of her being. Jaime found their father easily enough, he and his mothers scents would be forever ingrained in their pups brains, but as her brother pressed his pelt into his fathers Cersei simply pinned her ears back and took to her fathers other side, seeing he was simply watching over Arya as Uriel and Cassiel seemed to be whispering. They were the reason her pack did not feel like home. Their hateful glances and deceitful words, they hated her and her family so she hated them. "I thought maybe we all could go out and practice something. Hunting, or even fighting. I want to get out of the commons for a while." Her brothers suggestion felt like applying aloe to a fresh burn as her mind raced with thoughts she was not proud of. Getting out, yes. She needed to get out. Taking in a soft breath in an attempt to not allude to her current state Cersei added "I could certainly use some fresh air, it is awful dull here." feigning boredom, she simply felt the need to breathe air that Eureka's litter had not touched with their vile negativity.

In all honesty, whatever game his dopey brother was going to suggest barely interested the tormented teenager. He was more there as supervision, spending his time watching others do things than spend his valuable time participating. They were probably going to end up turning on him anyway. Arya, though small, was smart. She had a mind like a whip and siblings that already hated him. Benjen and Oberyn. The pair had already butt heads with him before, and now that they were bigger it was almost inevitable that their next confrontation would end in bloodshed. Cassiel knew it would. Maybe he even hoped. "They have betrayed you. They have put against you uncorrected measures of pain. Correct it," the she-devil hissed from beside him. Her tiny frame was unintimidating, but the venom her tongue unleashed constantly made Cass want to squirm away from his sister's presence. Uriel was hellish and relentless in her torment. Why oh why had he told her about the lingering thoughts in the back of his mind? Now she sides with the voice questioning the motives of the wolves surrounding him. She watches the fire burn and once the embers begin to smoulder she sparks it back up again. Oh, how Cassiel resented that. Resented her. His mind reeled, scanning the dens around him for the brothers. If they showed their faces, Cassiel didn't know how he would react. For now, he was just trying to focus on the antics his brother started. Pup Azrael Uriel Pup Arya
