Make room for the things that add beauty to your life She was usually so good with greetings. Merida was sociable, and quite tactful in her approach to communication. She had been trained well back at home to know her place and act accordingly, attentive to emotional reactions and affable in regards to them. So it was truly a spinning mystery when her greeting conjured no response from either Violet or her sister. Zelda's bearing of excitement towards her gave Merida little hope that she was still the charismatic friend she longed to be; but it was a welcome sentiment nonetheless, despite the fact that the pup turned her attention away from her in the end. "Ocean! Glad to see you made it back alive." Merida giggled upon her friend's arrival. She had trouble with that word when she considered him. Was he a friend? Did he even have friends? Surely it was possible if Azaelia had captured his heart that he had room in it for companions, but he was undoubtedly very selective. Merida honestly had no idea what he thought of her, and she often wondered if Azaelia had ever told him anything about the siblings and their past life. Eyes fumbled as she searched in her heart for faith, but it was lost when Azaelia began fumbling herself. "Sister," Merida whined, but Ocean and Percy had both beaten her to concern. "Perhaps a day at the lake might be a better idea than a hunt, what do you think Bro?" It was unusual for Percy to try to be helpful. Merida knew this was serious. Having watched over Azaelia since the pregnancy and the pups since the birth, Merida had become aware of Azaelia's cognitive setbacks that seemed to be manifesting over this period of time. She noted, however, that since the birth of her litter that she had become much more stable. Merida should have known that she was due for an episode, and guilt now consumed her over failing to tell Murdoch about it. She had been so caught up in her angst that she refused all begging intrigue by Eureka's announcement, and had formally lost all interest in the hunt. "That sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? I can stay here and help with the little ones." Merida lit up. It wasn't easy for her to hide negative feelings, such as the worry plaguing her now, but she was equally formidable in her social skills and was able to maintain a truly pleasant smile on her face, accompanied by an authentic-looking sway of her tail. She wanted very badly to accompany them and be present with her ailing sister, but she also knew that the pups were not yet comfortable being left without at least one of their closer guardians. A Z A E L I A Former Somnus Alphess A cluster of sparks charged in her abdomen as laced eyes befell like magnets on a tall, dark brute. It seemed that her body knew him well, but her mind deceived her, for she could not recall his name nor her relation to him. "Zee, you there?" How could he know that name? There was only one possibility. Ah, he's the new recruit. Mother didn't readily tell Azaelia everything these days; she liked to make her think, to investigate on her own, to form her own ideas and opinions and do something about them whether they were condemnable or not.
"Have we met? Sorry, I don't find myself getting too personal with the recruits," she chuckled shyly, eyes evading his gorgeous, glowing seekers, green like the stems of baby alyssum. "Here, I'll have Percy show you-"
What were young eyes vibrant with ambition and charged with pride went dark as they veered expectantly towards her brother. You look different. She suddenly felt the ache of her bones and swell of her stomach as she realized what was ailing Percy; it was age. And above all, it was the understanding that his sister had indeed lost her mind, an argument he'd been making her whole life. She couldn't defend herself now; this was real.
She fought over her colliding realities and scolded herself for letting her malfunctioning mind ever take her away from her children. "My babies..." she whined as she scavenged for them, a sigh of relief failing to evade the attention of her siblings and mate. She was aware of what they meant by their attempts to remove her from the common grounds.
"No," she said sternly, eyes designed to burn into the minds of others. "I need this hunt. I'm going." She didn't take a second look before storming off to the hunting grounds. She feared that if she looked back, she would fall back into a fantasy and disappear forever. The only way she could survive this was to move forward. One foot in front of the other.

Walking back to the commons with Nev in tow, and thankfully no injured rogues, Cori's eyes scanned the commons. He hadn't gotten to talk to a certain beauty this morning yet. Mismatched eyes soon rested on her. The Beta was talking with one of the many mothers in Somnus, Aelin. He wanted to make a beeline for her and see what she was thinking this morning, but his mind pulled him elsewhere. Now that his mouth was all but empty of the flavour of herbs, the need for his teeth to grind against one another was unbearable. The word 'hunt' being tossed around as a prospective activity only spiked his anxiety that his stone was not in his mouth. The apprentice knew exactly where he left it - on the shelf in the Doc's den. He took a few steps, tail disconnecting from Nevermore in his bid to restore the success of the hunt within his own mind, before the hauntingly familiar scent of fresh birth hit his nose. The sliver of a memory of passing his Alphess walking quickly beside a she-wolf obviously in labour struck a deep worm of dread through his stomach. He didn't know this new she-wolf's name, but Jolon's scent burst from Doc's den alongside her refreshing orange scent. A new family was always a delight, but a new family when his precious rosy stone was stuck behind them was a recipe for a breakdown. With his eyes darting between the den, the surrounding trees, and the ground for any sort of substitute, Cori made a split-second decision with a jerky step. It was clear that the male was agitated. More agitated than he had ever been within the borders of Somnus. His ears were flattened, tail whipping behind him in small and disorganized strokes, eyes panicked. His jaws clamped around a stick, a small branch blown down by wind the night before, and clamped down with all his might. Pain rang through his jaw for a blinding moment. The alder bark he normally chewed on was within the den as well, so he would find no relief from his ever-present self-induced toothache anytime soon. Within his jaws, the branch soon splintered. Tiny shards of wood pierced his cheeks and gums, but at last the stress of the hunt possibly failing was lifted. With that finally done, his attention turned back to Violet. By now, many more wolves had gathered around her. That was no problem for the sociable male! Keeping his substitute branch between his jaws until he was within normal conversation range, he happily added in once the conversation died down, "Good morning, Violet, Draco, Aelin. And hello to you too! My name's Corvidae, but everyone calls me Cori. I'm one of the Salutary apprentices here." He addressed what he could assume to be the newest currently mobile member of Somnus. With a bright smile - only slightly bloodied by the splinters - he eagerly awaited a response from the Beta. The others as well, but he was definitely more interested in what Violet had to say this fine morning. Beta Violet Apprentice Nevermore Alpha Draco Sentinel Aelin Soske @y'all

Jaime didn't seem to be in the mood to talk to Zelda. And the alpha showed zero interest in her bold introduction. Now, the air of the children seemed dampened by the presence of the alphess' litter. Zelda could have sworn that nasty looking girl was saying something about her, but Zelda didn't think to swivel an ear in curiosity. Opinions were opinions, and she felt no need to pay attention to those that didn't matter. Still, her young, sensitive mind was susceptible to the deceptive impact of judgement, and subtle insecurities certainly did begin to bubble as she imagined what was being said about her, if anything at all. Was she being paranoid? She took a deep breath and looked for Link. She needed him. Zelda really thought she could handle this day alone, but in truth, she needed her adventurous brother to stop such serious, dull thoughts from manifesting in her head. He always had something positive to say. They met eyes. It seemed he was looking for her, too. Why was he so far away! He could have gotten lost! Her heart began to race as guilt punished her for leaving her brother alone. This was not a good day at all. Nothing was going smoothly. So disorganized. So tense. So scary... And as all the imperfections of the world showcased themselves, Zelda realized that she wasn't all that she thought she was. She had failed to impress the alpha, and had failed to make a single friend. She sulked to her brother, unable to hide her disappointment. She had no words for him, and instead pushed up against his chest and rested her chin on his shoulder. "Hi Link," she said softly, eyes closed. "I'm bad at making friends," the pup whined, exposing her lack of composure and falsifying her rigid attitude she liked to impress him with. "Zee, you there?" She was mistaken in assuming Daddy was talking to her. Something was wrong with Mommy, but Zelda didn't know exactly what it was. It was almost like they were all talking in code. What was at the lake? Why did Mommy need to hunt? Who's the recruit? She removed herself from her brother's comfort to achieve a smaller distance between herself and her parents, but Mommy was already gone. Zelda's ears fell back as she began to panic, heart racing as she imagined the possibilities. Her mother being sick, or upset, or anything that would alter the dynamic of their family, were all ideas that made the poor pup's heart crumble. If she were her brother, she would be sneaking to the hunting grounds to go figure out what's going on, or just to enjoy the show of the adults taking down a massive meal. But she was Zelda, the smart one. She couldn't succumb to any desires that would put her and her siblings' position and safety at risk. If I were my brother, huh?"Hey Link, you're not thinking of doing anything dangerous today, right?" Zelda asked in all seriousness. If it was Link's idea to start a prison break, then Zelda wouldn't feel so guilty if she "involuntarily" participated. Duh! Brilliant. Pup Link Azaelia General Ocean Paladin Percy @allthepups

g e n e r a l • o c e a n a reckless wolf with a selfless interior
His neck craned forward, a velvety drape of ebony fur cloaking a conspicuous expression that denoted the words, "what the fuck?" Soon Ocean found his eyes, which were crushed between a furrowing brow and a bewildered narrowing of his eyelids, probing for this "recruit" she may have mistaken him for, but he fell short of a purpose upon realization that it was impossible to mistake the gargantuan brute for anything but a green-eyed bear.
Seeking orbs cascaded down the terrain as he targeted each of his children but the sulking little sentinel who would be blissfully unaware of the common ground mayhem for the remainder of the afternoon. As for his more sociable pups, he could not say that they weren't smart enough to define a pattern; Zelda, at least, would be eager to investigate if she hadn't begun already.
"Alright," he remarked to Azaelia with the same cold sternness she ordered him with. "But you're sticking with me." He took a few steps with her towards the hunting grounds before stopping, ensuring the safety of his pups once more, and sending a word to Azaelia's sister. "Mer, do stay with the pups. They've never been apart from the both of us." Ocean peered into her eyes while apprehension dominated his gaze, but he trusted her deeply.
Finally, he beckoned for Percy to follow. Besides the fact that he was "babysitting" the brother today, Azaelia needed to be surrounded by her loved ones if what he thought was happening was really happening. There would be little time to interrogate him after the hunt, so he chose to speak now. He padded several feet behind his mate and did not remove his eyes from her figure, but a quiet voice was directed to the brute beside him.
"She's never spoken about her birth pack, but if that's where her delusions are taking her, I need to know what happened there."

As soon as Zelda asked him the question, he turned his head to her and disregarded his sister, his sleepy grouchiness causing a pout to form along his muzzle, but was stopped short when the snowy form of his sister slammed into him. A whine fell from his maw as she clamped, like an alligator, onto his ear and seemed to not want to let go and his body hit the ground from the force of her body launching through the air onto his own. He heard her growl in his ear, he knew he had upset her, but why? Because he left her side to go and sit with their father? She had left him to go sit with their mother first! Puppy paws found their way under her soft underbelly and he pushed off of her with as much strength as it took to push her off but not to hurt her as he returned the bellow deep in his belly. Cream colored brows knitted together as he lost himself in their real play fight, Zelda completely disappearing from his mind, his attention span unable to harbor more than one thing at a time. He would try to talk to her later though, when there was less going on and less offence to his being from Cersei. CerseiMentioned: Pup Zelda (sorry I took a while to respond D:)

As link plopped his rump down next to the midnight general, he looked up to his mother, her distant gaze causing perked ears to fall back onto his head. "Mom?" he muttered, worry churning in his stomach as his father took over trying to bring her attention back to the present. Uncle Percy seemed concerned too and the pup couldn't help the sense of dread he felt, the adults all seemed to know something he didn't. Zelda made her way to the forefront, pressing against Link and resting her chin on his shoulder as she spoke about not being good at making friends. Link rested his head atop of hers before she moved away from him. He was sure Zelda picked up on their mother's out of body experience too, but the small male stood, looking to his father and then to the snowy form of Zelda as she spoke to him. "Hey Link, you're not thinking of doing anything dangerous today, right?" She knew. "Of course not." He began, sending a look her way he was hoping no one else caught in the midst of their attention being turned to his mother. "Come on, Zelda, lets go see if we can find some bugs to catch." The little pup tossed his head to the side, indicating he wanted to go back to the den to fetch Midna to see if she would like to tag along on their investigation and to find privacy to figure out what they were going to do to be able to sneak out. Golden eyes widened in shock at first and then narrowed as Benjen came to his side, his brother yelled back at Cassiel and his arrogant self, trying to clear up the air between them, but Oberyn's anger was already boiling. The golden orbs slid to Benjen for a second before coming back to land on Cassiel, the fur on Oberyn’s back had begun to spike up at the thought of what this little jerk of a cousin was thinking about him and his siblings, how could his cousin even say something like that, especially when the whole mess was an accident. The little pup's nose wrinkled exposing needle like teeth, he may not have been intimidating in anyone else's eyes, but Oberyn was not about to let his brother fight the battle alone, and he most certainly was not going to let Cassiel think that he had thrown him off in any way, the mottled brown pup's anger was bubbling over now, and he quickly realized he had no desire to be kind to his supposed cousin now. Little paws stepped forward getting a bit closer to Cassiel while he glared down his nose at the alabaster pup, “It is not our fault that you and your siblings can’t seem to loosen up and have a little fun, you sit over here acting like you are something better than us. At least our mommy and daddy are together, and at least we know who our parents are. Just because you are not happy does not mean that you can make the rest of feel like we are worthless and insignificant, so keep your arrogant, self-centered thoughts to yourself, that would be great.” After the rant the small pup seemed as if he was a bit calmer now, whether Cassiel was or not Oberyn did not care, the mottled brown pup's anger was still bubbling but his teeth were no longer bared at the pup at least. “Running into you was an accident, alright? Just forget about us okay, you shouldn’t have a problem with that seeing as all you care about are those other two pups you call siblings and yourself.” The brown pup stepped back then, golden eyes searching for his siblings as he moved to head towards one of the others and away from Cassiel hoping Benjen would follow quickly, but if Cassiel were to retort he would halt and wait to see if he wanted to reply back. [attr="class","background"] [attr="class","jolonimage"] [attr="class","title"]Hunting Superior Jolon [attr="class","pack"]Somnus [attr="class","text"]“I love you, Jolon,” it was barely audible but those four simple words caused him tremendous amounts of joy, his head reaching down to nuzzle her even harder, burying his muzzle into the fur at her neck licking her cheek carefully, his excitement bubbling over, he had never been so happy to see another wolf and it wasn't just that she had made him a father, it was all the time he had spent with her before and all the love he had felt for her before everything had happened which led to him believing her to be dead. She shuffled to get a bit closer to him and Jolon quickly stepped over her and the three pups, settling down behind her with his his large body wrapping around her back carefully his head laying on her shoulder as he watched the pups writhing at her belly, such beautiful little things, he never thought he could be a father, he had always hope and had always loved the idea of pups, but he had settled to being stuck as an uncle or a babysitter at most but now his dreams had come true, he was a dad, and he could only fantasize about the days to come. Lakaiya continued talking before Jolon could think of anything to say “It’s almost surreal. That I would find you here and that I brought these little ones into the world.” Jolon’s amber eyes turned to her watching her beautiful white-furred face before he continued to listen to Lakaiya, “Do you have any ideas for names? I hadn’t really thought of any. Poor planning on my part,” her soft chuckle made him smile warmly and then he watched as she nuzzled each of the pups, “Two boys and a girl.” Jolon didn’t notice as she looked towards him once more, he was already staring at the pups while his mind whirled, he was trying to come up with something to say, he would get to name his pups, it had not even occurred to him that him and Lakaiya would be the ones to come up with their names, his mind was struggling to come up with anything, after all he hadn’t exactly been prepared for the situation of naming pups. Finally he had come up with something he hoped Lakaiya would agree with, “How about,” he paused licking his lips nervously before continuing, “How about Reko, for the big one.” Jolon pointed his nose at the large, dark silver male, “What do you think?” Jolon’s large head tilted as he adjusted it on her back while looking up at her with soft, smiling eyes. @lakaiya [newclass=.background]background-image:url(https://66.media.tumblr.com/512cdb6d04a94348ee02fb26f48fa252/tumblr_psurxcHbIP1vg90dio1_1280.jpg); width:700px; height:400px;[/newclass][newclass=.jolonimage]background-image:url(https://i.imgur.com/kFiSeoh.png); width:200px; height:250px; border: solid 2px #000; margin-top:-370px; margin-left:-450px;[/newclass][newclass=.title]background:#000000; width:200px; height:15px; opacity:0.9; margin-left:-450px; margin-top:20px; padding:10px; color:white; font-family:arial; font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.pack]background:#000000; width:200px; height:15px; opacity:0.9; margin-left:-450px; margin-top:10px; padding:10px; color:white; font-family:arial; font-size:12px;[/newclass][newclass=.text]background:#000000; width:400px; height:335px; opacity:0.8; padding:10px; color:white; font-family:arial; font-size:12px; margin-left:220px; margin-top:-355px; overflow:auto;[/newclass]

Nevermore followed Corvidae, his tail being her lead as she walked behind him. The rogues at the borders hardly got underneath her skin, and she had almost completely forgotten about them as they made their way into the commons. The sounds of many wolves awake were enough to tell Nevermore that the pups were out and about, and all the parents had woken as well. Corvidae had removed himself from her side, going off to do who knew what. With them being back in the commons, she could place herself very easily on where she was. The pitter-patter of tiny paws indicated that many pups that were out were running around, and so the black she-wolf delicately placed one foot in front of the other as she looked for a familiar scent. Finding that there were many coming from Murdoch’s den, she figured she wouldn’t enter and give some privacy. Jolon’s scent wafted over her nostrils and she wondered what exactly he was doing in there, but didn’t give a second thought as she moved towards where she had last smelt Merida. The she-wolf had become a rather welcoming presence for Nevermore, being one of the first friends she had made outside of her siblings. So instead of bothering El or Blue, she moved towards the she-wolf, following her scent trail as she finally brushed up against the other. She was hoping that Percy wasn’t around to bother them too much. The tricky male drained a lot of Nevermore’s capacity to deal with him in such a short time. But she listened to what Merida said, and gave a smile. “I can’t watch them but I’ll keep you company,” She gave a small laugh. “Those rogues at the borders sure were something. Didn’t know boundaries and startled me just a little,” She spoke, whether Merida listened or not, the she-wolf sat and talked to herself, already very familiar with her own voice being the only thing to fill the silent void that was Nevermore’s mind. | | Violet watched Azaelia as she interacted with her family, and so the white lupine moved away from her long time friend, instead shifting back to Draco as he introduced the newest member of their pack to her. “Hello, it’s very nice to meet you,” She spoke, tone sweet as she looked to the new she-wolf. It seemed however, that as Draco left the she-wolf to her own devices, she backed up, dipped her head towards Violet and Azaelia and then moved away. New member gitters were probably getting to her. Violet had seen it many times, so seeing that this she wolf was acting the same way was not a surprise at all for the Beta. She watched the new member curiously, seeing that she found herself a place to build a den that was not too close with other pack members, and so she removed her lavender eyes and instead turned to Merida.
“Hello Merida,” She said, giving an amused chuckle at the she-wolf’s excitement. There were to be more pups running around, and she was happy to hear that. She had seen the commotion coming from Murdoch’s den die down, and Jolon enter after he was requested to do so. She wondered if he had ties with the she-wolf that had come into the pack, and if so what they were. Her gaze them traveled once more to the wolves around her. Noticing that she was just standing there, she decided to move back towards Aelin and Draco, the two that she knew wouldn’t mind her company. She was happy with the little family they had built, six little pups running around and happiness coming from all of them.
At least, that’s what she thought until she heard the little squabble that was coming from one of Draco’s children, and from Eureka’s. Looking over, she noticed that Draco’s son was going off on one of Eureka’s. Violet’s nature pulled her towards each of them, moving in between the two as she gave concerned eyes towards Oberyn. “Come, let’s go talk with your father,” She said, not giving Cassiel the chance to reply as she ushered Draco’s pups away from the commotion. As she moved back towards Draco, she gave an amused chuckle.
“Your sons are acting like you did when you were younger,” She said with a small laugh. Looking towards Oberyn, playful lavender eyes showing that she meant no harm, she laid down in the commons, taking a moment to relax a little as she looked towards the little pup. “What was that all about?” She asked. The pup would either choose to speak with her, or choose not to, it would really be his decision. But she was willing to listen to his side of the story on what happened.
She then looked up, seeing that Corvidae had approached. A warm smile and a flutter of her heart jolted her from the pup as she focused in on the male. He was simply saying good morning, but she felt her heart skip a beat at the gesture. Anything that Corvidae would do was enough to send the she-wolf’s heart into a frenzy, beating sporadically as she talked with him, or even watched him go about his daily chores. He looked towards her, and she finally pulled herself together, knowing that he was waiting for an answer from all of them. “Good morning Cori,” She greeted. Her tone was smooth and hid the fact that inside, she was shaking like a leaf hoping she didn’t embarrass herself too much in front of him.
“Did everything go okay at the borders?” She asked, looking towards him with curious eyes. “I only heard snippets of what had happened, but I hope it wasn’t too much trouble,” She spoke, looking towards him, wanting him to tell her all about what had happened as she brought herself up from the lying position she had been in, and instead moved to sit up, looking towards the male with sparkling lavender eyes, wanting to know how his day was going so far.

If I got rid of my DEMONS, I'd lose my angels. That was it. He would have laughed if he could at what a silly idea it was to think she’d understand him. She wasn’t Blue, and she wasn’t Nevermore, and there was no feasible future in which she ever would be. If she would open her eyes in the smallest hours of the night when she and her restless children were finally able to breathe steadily, in such unison that they almost looked like a family, then she would see him pacing around her den at guard. She was just as vulnerable as his sisters. He liked to believe that, while she knew nothing of his efforts, she was sleeping better at night because he was protecting her.
But El didn’t like fantasies. He had too many lies running rampant in his brain that he could never enjoy his own imagination like Nevermore could. And he could never rationalize emotions like Blue could. Besides the shield that was his body, he had never learned what his purpose was. With his sisters becoming more independent by the day and discovering their place in a family he didn’t consider his own, it was all the more evident that he was a seed in the air struggling to find a steady current. He didn’t quite know where the wind was taking him anymore. Perhaps Eureka was only an excuse to find a new purpose, a steady current like the one he once followed along with his sisters. He didn’t have the ability to imagine her as anything more than a solution, rather, he was forced to ponder why his body took him to her den every evening and why the voices in his head finally went silent when he estimated what bliss she felt when she let herself fall asleep.
He looked down awkwardly at the newcomer with an expression quiet with curiosity and disappointment. She fit every known standard for the perfect, beautiful she-wolf, yet he did not feel the longing of his heart, as he looked upon her foresty green eyes, that he felt when he gazed upon the conventionally unimpressive portrait of Eureka. Maybe if Eureka believed she held the same orthodox attractiveness as Soske, she would have realized that it was she who El wanted.
Eyes had no eyelids when they peered atop an operating brain. He could have stared like a vulture into the earnest orbs of Soske for the remainder of the afternoon if he did not come to a bearable conclusion; until he could quiet the voices and put an end to their laborious disputes. They forced his eyes to remain open even as they dried and burned, so that he could not rest, and so they would have reign over his thoughts until he mustered the power to own them. He blinked once, and left Soske’s side to stand somewhere between the distant locations of Nevermore and Blue. Soske, unfortunately, would have to bear the images of El’s ghostly face tonight when she tried to put herself to sleep. Ah well.

she believed she could, so she did Quiet stares and thoughtful smirks brought her fur crawling as the lupine remained suspended in an almost eerie silence. Her eyes darted between Eureka and El, the unknown male, racing to understand the plot they were seemingly preparing. While the the brute had his handsome orbs glued to her own, the Alphess exchanged questionable stares between the two of them, as if she were piecing together a puzzle. Her intrigued smile gave it away, Soske flinching with a start. Oh no, she wasn't interested in this guy like that! Anxiety swelled in her throat, still aware of the holes El was burning into her face. Desperately, Soske cleared her throat in hopes that it would distract everyone from their thoughts. Success! The Alphess broke the silence with a chiming voice. "We'll meet at the hunting grounds shortly. You are welcome to head out together now, if you'd like," No! Eureka was up and running swiftly, finding herself chatting with unfamiliar pack mates. Her mind shut down, a blank stare resting on the grass nearby. She most certainly wouldn't just ask if the brute wanted to come with her, and he had not said a single word. Did he even talk? Before she could even gather her thoughts, peripherals detected the departure of his huge figure, wandering from her awkward stature without a second thought. Not even a goodbye, or even a flick of his tail.
Ugh. Relief flooded her, finally left to herself. Meanwhile, the scene that had just taken place simply did not sit right with her. She couldn't have performed more awkwardly, an uneasy feeling swirling in her mind as she contemplated how these wolves were judging her. El didn't even acknowledge her bar his uncomfortable stare, and even that seemed disappointed. Eureka's assumptions on her relations were incorrect, and Soske worried rumors would fly on the idea now. The lupine hadn't even been here a whole hour and she felt as if she were taking every wrong step.
Consciously, the she-wolf wondered if anyone was looking at her now, assessing her. Forest green hues darted along the clearing, and while realistically no one was even paying any attention to her small figure, sitting misplaced along the outskirts, every single sideways glance felt as if it were in her direction. Her chest tightened up, ears folding in distress once again. And, naturally, she still couldn't just run away because she still had no clue where the hunting grounds were. El had left her. Eureka left her. She needed to act like the adult she was.

Make room for the things that add beauty to your life "No. I need this hunt. I'm going." It seemed her sister was awake. Ears fell to the top of her skull as the anxious helper only imagined what Azaelia had just experienced. The scene was frightening; it seemed she was losing her memory and developing these delusions that reminded Merida of home. But it's not why Merida's heart began to turn in her chest. It was that she could not possibly imagine what Azaelia was feeling right now, and what sort of suffering this condition was going to plague her with for the remainder of her lifetime. She could only hope that whatever fantasies these delusions stole her away to were pleasant ones, and that Azaelia wouldn't forever be trapped in a tragic loop of Hell. These were quite possibly some of the darkest thoughts that had ever crossed her mind. Even as a captive, Merida kept her head high. She could bear her own suffering, but she could not bear the suffering of the ones she loved. Nevermore was at her side now, offering her a friendly smile. Merida was thankful that the apprentice wouldn't have to see the broken look on Merida's face. She laughed in response to Nevermore's blind joke. She really knew how to lighten a mood."Oh my gosh," she began at Nevermore's comment regarding the activity at the borders. She should have realized sooner that such an environment wasn't easy on Nevermore without her siblings there. "I can only imagine what that must have been like for you." Merida's tone shifted as she scooted the edge of her flank into Nevermore's side, so the blind apprentice could feel Merida's presence. "It was brave of you to rush to the scene like that, given your disadvantage. I can see why El and Blue need you so much."Nevermore wouldn't be able to see the smile on Merida's face, but she hoped she could sense the admiration in her tone. Peripherals caught a glimpse of an ivory dot in the outskirts of the commons. Soske was her name, if the acting scout remembered correctly. "Soske! Get your butt over here!" Merida shouted with a wagging tail. She sure was abrasive when it came to making friends. Some might approach the shy wolves with caution so as not to scare them off, but Merida knew the newcomer wasn't going anywhere. She probably, secretly, wanted to make friends just as much as Merida did. If the alabaster beauty approached, Merida would start a new conversation."I'm sure this is a lot for you. If it makes you feel any better, everybody is overwhelmed right now. You're not alone," she said with a smile fit for a hyena. "My, you look like you've seen a ghost! You alright?"

Still and vigilant were her pale optical pools as she stared, lurking under the shadow of Mother's den, like a cobra stalking its prey. They peered upon an immobile face not open to expression, yet thoughts ran wild inside of her. Cassiel plodded away like a puppet on strings, and as Uriel commanded his every step, a wicked smile pushed the skin around her lips up into her protruding, pale mask. "There are too many of you. So many mouths to feed, bodies to keep warm. All clumsy, all rude, strutting around with the perfect family. Just look at mommy and daddy, the happy perfect couple. And you're loud. Your yells can be heard miles away, drawing in God knows what. You and your strong brotherly bond racing through the snow with such carelessness, no sense of the damage you could cause""What's your problem? Back off my brother!" Her eyes widened so there were no sunken shadows left beneath them, her smile begging now to unfasten her jaw so a salivating tongue could lull in amusement, yet the features of her face still could not be defined as delight. Perhaps the expression she hosted was only a feeling, so there her face remained a blank canvas. Would Azrael seek vengeance for Benjen's outburst against Brother Cassiel? Eyes cast a line in her dull brother's direction, the limp, black body failing to do its part in Uriel's fantasy. Do it. Do it.
“Settle down, all of you." Big woof, Mother. Uriel sat back and raised a paw to her mouth so she could lick innocently at her pristine coat while the salutary attempted to reason with little Cassiel. How sweet it was of him to pity her brother, to try to quiet the voices in his head, to prove his love and loyalty to the Devil's Children in an attempt to protect himself from what was to come. With the Devil on your side, anything was possible. There were many paths Murdoch could take at this moment, and this conversation might very well determine his fate. So Uriel listened in intently, for she would learn everything she needed to know about the doctor in these moments to come. Pup Cassiel Pup Azrael Salutary Murdoch Pup Benjen @oberyn
