Basil's eyes opened, clouded by sleep, she rolled over from her warm spot and looked about, catching sight of Dante, smiling sleepily up at him. The little black pup picked herself up off the ground and stretched carefully, making sure every limb's muscles had been given the equal opportunity before hurrying outside the den to join her siblings, tongue hanging out of her mouth as she ran. The little black pup stopped just short of her siblings, watching them all carefully, tail wagging slowly behind her catching sight of the new wolves leaving behind Ventus. The pup's tongue closed up inside her maw and her bright eyes focused solely on the leaving figures, the decision played out in her mind. She could either hang back with her siblings in what would be yet another normal day, or she could have an exciting day, and adventurous day. As soon as the thought of adventure came to mind, Basil's decision was made, the pup immediately began after the small party, eyes focused ahead and ready for an adventure. -Exit to Lubrusca General Hunting Territory- Delta Baron @lexavein Alphess Ventus

It didn’t take long for the Alphess to appear. She popped out of the den that the little pups had come from, but it was very apparent from her smell that she was harboring her own litter in their common grounds. Sitka didn’t necessarily think that this was the perfect common grounds, but with how the wolves traveled, she knew something had happened. She had caught the sight of burnt trees covered with snow, but she wouldn’t ask what had happened to the territory if they weren't willing to state. She would learn in due time, and she would have more than enough time to pay her respects to the pack for holding strong during that period of time. The two little pups introduced themselves to her as Maddox and Milo, but they scampered away as soon as the Alphess spoke. She started them off with a hunt, something simple that would allow her to test whether or not they would be good additions to the pack. If you weren’t able to hunt for the pack, then you would either always be ranked an Omega or run from the pack. Although she could tell this pack wasn’t that way, but most packs were. The Alphess addressed Lysic as the future Alpha of the pack which took her by surprise. He had to be the eldest of the litter then, but with his impairment it was odd that she wouldn’t choose one of her other sons. But she seemed to put a lot of trust in that the young male would learn quickly. If he had been born with his disability then it would make no difference of one eye or two. But she already appreciated how this pack offered each and every wolf the chance to thrive there, and she felt as if she finally belonged. Bringing herself to follow the others, she prepared herself for the hunt that would come. -Exit- Alphess Ventus Beta Lysic Sentinel Hydran @dante @lexavein Delta Baron Hunter Devika

Cecilia was the first to rise, stretching against his auburn forelegs with loving, wide eyes. She had forgiven him now, although he knew she certainly didn’t appreciate the scare he’d given her on the way out. "Dad,” She asked softly, her small tail swishing with delight. “Can we go an adventure?" Adventure — which child didn’t absolutely crave it? Throughout their childhood, he’d always been the one to bring them terrific enticing tidbits from the elusive outside, the one to supervise their short outings, the bringer of fun, experience, and fantastic adventure. “Of course you can,” He quipped, raising his right light to gently tap her on the head. Even if he hadn’t offered, Cecilia was the wanderer, and had always sought out the unknown when her siblings had stayed behind. An unfortunate trait, some would say, but nothing bad had happened yet, and if he could just keep that urge sated while he was watching, nothing would. “Though first, we say should hello to our new packmates. Adventure comes after.”Ventus lifted herself languidly from the floor; content with the short break she received cuddling her and his young. His pup had been weaned for quite some time, but they’d missed the company, the gentleness of their milk-mother, and the bit of bonding had suited them. Elegantly, she edged across the forest floor, analyzing the three with a wary, analytical eye. Lubrusca begged for strength. They couldn’t afford to nurture anything less at this stage. Fortunately, at least from a first glance, she appeared satisfied, introducing herself and her absent mate with a welcoming glance. “I’m sure my children and my General have already asked of your strengths, but I will be putting them to the test,” She quipped, glancing over her first litter. Lysic was appointed chief of these operations, as Lubrusca’s future alpha, with just about every adolescent hunter accompanying him for the analysis. “We will head to the hunting grounds. I’m sure there is something to be caught there, and it will put your hunting skills to the test,” Ventus stated firmly, circling around to guide their newcomers there. A thorough means of assessing the lot — if all went accordingly, they’d be able to strip them of that useless omega label and assign them to their ranks. He took a tentative step towards the hunting party before hesitating. Ventus hadn’t explicitly invited him, but hunts, especially those with wolves unfamiliar with the land and each other begged to see a superior figure heading them. If there was one thing their blossoming pack needed, it was stability, and a fat buck would bring it for a short while. Perhaps it’d be best if he followed, supervising their hunt and making the main calls. While he stood contemplating, a soft voice slipped into his ear, one that he’d feared had been silenced. “They're growing up very nicely, Dante. You must be so proud." He chuffed softly; a small, gentle smile parting his features at the compliment. “Thank you, Snow. I am. Elenor would be too.” His mouth twitched with a soft, imperceptible sadness as he watched his pups, Maddox batting at Milo and Milo attempting to slip away. “I’m not quite sure what Ven’s darling’s name is. She—“
Tiny, budding teeth pricked against the back of his leg, painless but odd to touch. “Hello you,” he practically purred, shaking his sorrel pup off. Maddox had always been his boldest, the most energetic, always the most eager to play. “You should be more careful with what you put in your mouth, you know. Don’t know where I could have been.” Dante teased slyly, gently swiping his son’s paws from beneath him. Maddox didn’t mind. He simply refocused, seamlessly shifting his war efforts to Snow’s tail. At the mention of his youngest cousin, he perked up promptly, eager to share what he knew. “Oh her name is Keala!” He piped up with a giddy, childish grin, twitching his tail. “But we called her Snowbelle, because I think that names way cuter. But don’t tell Aunty Ventus!” Dante chortled, unable to resist a chuckle. “There you have it Snow. Carrying on your family name.” Maddox spoke with adamant, childish admiration, enchanted by the beautiful white she-wolf he hadn’t quite seen till now. “This is Snow Rose,” Dante spoke gently. “She helped your mother while she was giving birth, and helped you arrive safe and sound.” Maddox pressed on, peppering the she-wolf with questions, all stemming from a place of careful, puppyish concern — or hunger perhaps. Had he received enough to eat? Suddenly, a small black streak blotted by. Basil had decided on her own that she was going to join the judging too. Oh dear, he hoped Ventus didn’t mind — but perhaps that was his cue to leave as well. “Sorry to cut this short, Snow, but duty calls. Would you watch Mochi’s girl? Just for a little bit, he’ll be back soon, I’m sure.” He lifted himself, stretching long, stiff limbs behind him one-by-one. “Cece!” He called as he cracked his back. “Go follow Basil! Maddox, would you like to come along with us? Make sure to let your brothers know they can come too of course, but you can stay if you’d like. We’re going to go hunting, and give you, Snow, and everyone else something to eat. Would you like to watch?” Dante asked gently, smiling down at his oldest pup’s face. After he received his answer, he broke into a brisk trot, attempting to catch up to his Alphess leading at the head of the group. “Ventus, wait!” Exit To: Lubrusca General Hunting Grounds Tagged: Apprentice Maddox Scout Milo Scout Cecilia @basil Warrior Nascha Alphess Ventus Salutary Snow Rose

Salutary Snow Rose
The girl who's always smiling
It was heart-warming to see such a gentle smile cross Dante's maw. She had witnessed loss many times over. Loss of life, limbs, eyes, memories and more than she wanted to admit remembering. Loss was a difficult thing to cope with, yet Dante had combatted the loss of his own mate with a bravery that Snow Rose admired above anything else. At least he had been gifted with five glowing younglings to compensate for the devastation of Elenor's death, each pup holding their own resemblance to the mother that they had never met. A part of Snow felt like it had been her fault that Elenor hadn't made it through her labor, she should have been able to battle all of the problems that were surfacing one after the other with the kind of flawless skill that one could expect from a seasoned Salutary. But Snow Rose was still young, only three years old. Yes, she was exceptionally talented and experienced for her age, but like every living being her knowledge was limited, and if it was destined for someone to pass on, then there was no way that she could battle fate.
“I’m not quite sure what Ven’s darling’s name is. She—“ Dante was interrupted by the same white figure that Snow Rose managed to catch in her peripherals, the young male nipping at his father's legs before approaching the Salutary in an attempt to tackle her tail. His endeavours were unsuccessful, but incredibly amusing, causing a chiming giggle to ring from her maw. This little male must have been Maddox. He had grown substantially since the last time Snow Rose had seen him, but he was still a tiny little ball of fuzz that she couldn't help but adore.
“Oh her name is Keala! But we called her Snowbelle because I think that names way cuter. But don’t tell Aunty Ventus!” A smile was spread over her cheeks as she watched the pipsqueak walk around to her front and sit by her paws, his big puppy eyes staring up at her with an adorable intensity that made Snow's heart melt. But Ventus' pup, she had a name. Keala, short and sweet, as the Salutary imaged the pup to be. However, it was the newborn's recently earned nickname that had Snow Rose's smile growing even brighter than before. Snowbelle. “There you have it Snow. Carrying on your family name.” It seemed that Dante had the same thoughts as her, as Snow Rose was absolutely thrilled to hear that another she-wolf had been named after a wintery flower. Even though it wasn't Keala's real name, Snow Rose absolutely loved it, and she was sure she would probably end up referring to the little one by her given name rather than her birth name.
Snow Rose gazed down on Maddox's little figure with adoration shining in her caramel eyes as Dante introduced her to his oldest son. A minute had been shared between the two, but Maddox had already won a massive portion of her heart. “Hi Miss, I don’t really know you but your voice is really pretty and your fur is pretty to!” The youngling suddenly exclaimed while his tail wagged through the icy snow, his compliments bringing yet another one of her signature giggles to ring through the crisp air. "Oh, why thank you!" Snow Rose managed to fit in a short reply before the youngling began spitting words once again.
“Are you hungry? I’m sure there’s some left over squirrel. Unless Milo ate it all, oh wait, I think I ate it all. Maybe we could go find something together!” Maddox had obviously taken note of her slimmer build, and was so generously offering to help find her some food while he smiled at her with a lighthearted innocence. Of course she was still hungry, the chickens that she had eaten earlier had settled quite nicely in her stomach, but Snow Rose could always go for something to eat, and it wouldn't hurt to consume more than her usual fill thanks to the muscle and fat that she had lost during her sickness.
Before she could respond to Maddox's invitation, Dante broke into the conversation. “Sorry to cut this short, Snow, but duty calls. Would you watch Mochi’s girl? Just for a little bit, he’ll be back soon, I’m sure.” It looked like she would be camping out with Snowbelle while they waited for Mochi to get back. She couldn't complain about getting to spend some time with the adorable newborn, perhaps use this time to conduct a quick health check, but she was slightly disappointed that she wouldn't be able to tag along with Maddox.
Snow Rose gave a swift nod to Dante before she turned back to her little admirer. "Sorry kiddo, but it looks like I'm stuck here for now, Snowbelle needs someone to look after her," the tiniest of frowns crossed the Salutary's face as she explained herself to the pup, but it wasn't long before Dante was back and asking his son if he wanted to join them in their expedition. A thought formed in her mind. "You could stay here and help me wait for Mochi, hopefully he'll get his fluffy butt back quickly so we'll be able to catch up with the others and join in on the fun!" Snow Rose explained to the pup sitting at her feet, though she couldn't blame him if he wanted to go dashing off with his father, Snow could always catch up with the others by herself. And if Mochi returned and wished to join his mate and the newcomers in the Hunting Grounds, she would happily fulfil her Alpha's wishes and stay behind, and if that were the case, Maddox would definitely be in good hands with Mochi as an escort if he was still wanting to catch up with his siblings.

It seemed that he and his daughter had returned a tad late to their Common Grounds. Fresh scent fettered their land; enticingly unfamiliar and reeking of the odd lifestyle rouges depended on to survive. Dante had returned victorious, and Ventus had presumably whisked both litters off to observe the general’s findings in a test of skill and endurance. Normally, he’d follow in her footsteps, but with so many wolves missing it seemed that she’d more than covered it. For now, he’d seize the chance to catch up on the crucial father-daughter bonding him and Macha had been lacking, while the Commons were clear and empty with no wolves to risk interruption. Besides, Keala needed company. Snow Rose and Dante’s oldest, Maddox, lingered in the den’s mouth, the latter playing pawing at the former’s chest. None of the others were present, all presumably transported to the site of his latest and greatest fantastical adventure. She’d been left on her own, with only pups for play — surely, no fun for a wolf that spent the last month den-ridden. “Snow,” He greeted his first Lubruscan friend with a gentle dip of the head. “What on earth are you still doing here? Clear out and have fun. Macha and I will hold down the fort from here on out.”A glint of gratitude shimmered in Snow’s eyes as she cleared out, Maddox most like in tow. Mochi chuffed slightly. Their sweet, doting salutary had a way with wolves, and a particular way with pups that caused them to cling to her. Keala would like be no different once she was fully grown. “Come along Macha,” he bid gently as he slipped inside, gently nuzzling the pure white pup as she squirmed and squealed. Carefully, he wrapped himself around her, positioning her between two broad forepaws. “I figured it’s time the two of you got acquainted with each other. Macha, Keala. Keala, Macha.” He chuckled softly, playfully swiping his tongue against the pup’s exposed belly. “Say hello,” he whispered reverently. Tagged: Salutary Snow Rose Apprentice Maddox Omega Macha

L Y S I C Heir of Lubrusca
Lysic followed Dante into the common area as they brought the newcomers to the territory they currently resided in. It was not their original commons, and if they looked closely, they could see that the dens were hastily made, no time or effort put into them. Only the time that it took to make them big enough to house the wolves that built them. This was not their commons, but it would serve as theirs until the time came right to move back to the damage area once more. That would more than likely not be until spring, and even then, it was not a guarantee that the land would be healed enough that they could live in it once more. Nor did it guarantee that the wolves of the pack would want to live there. Waking every morning seeing the damage that had been done to the edge of the Forest River was enough, but to wake up in the middle of the devastated area was a different story. Time would only tell what his mother would decide, and if she would decide to make use of that area any longer. At the thought of his mother, she appeared from the den that was no doubt hiding his newfound little sister. He wanted to know what the story behind her was, to know when she was born and why Ventus hadn’t told anyone, especially her own children. He wasn’t quite sure if Mochi even knew before today. But that would be saved for when they had time. Right now, his mother was barking orders at the new members, as well as himself and his siblings.
She made note that he was indeed going to be the next Alpha, and a spark of nervousness flickered through his thoughts. Was he really cut out to be the Alpha of Lubrusca? He was blind in one eye, and even though it hardly affected him since birth, he was still not sure if he would be the best Alpha choice. There were wolves like Hydran or Devika that had both of their eyes, and had a clear mind of what to do, or at least, that’s what he thought. He always saw his siblings as the ones to have things figured out, unlike himself. But, he would listen to his mother since she was the Alphess of the pack, and what she said was exactly what they would do. They were going to hunt. The idea sparked excitement within him, and he trotted after her, keeping himself near her heels as they left for the hunting grounds.

Maddox"Maybe our future's so bright it fucking burns like a Wildfire." Maddox was enamored by the large she-wolf, listening to her replies to him with an intensity that couldn’t be matched by anyone else in the pack. He looked over towards his father as he cut the conversation short, much to Maddox’s sadness. His father was heading off to the hunting grounds to watch the hunt. Maddox wasn’t going to lie, he wanted to see the hunt in action just like his siblings, but the fact that Snow Rose would have to be here alone with no one to talk to, caused him to hesitate. She offered that they stay there, wait for Mochi to return to watch over his pup, and that they would catch up with his father. He wiggled his butt in excitement, liking that idea much better than abandoning her alone in the commons. He turned to look up at Snow Rose, about to say something to her before his ears perked, muzzle pointed the way that his ears were turning as he saw that Mochi was approaching with Macha in tow. He bounded over towards the two, weaving in and out of their paws and tackling Mochi’s leg and nipping it before he listened to what Mochi said. He was excited to say the least. Snow could come with him to the hunting grounds finally!
Although it hadn’t been that long since his father had left, Maddox unlatched himself from the tasty leg he was chewing on that belonged to the Alpha, and ran over to Snow, spraying snow behind him and covering her paws in it as well as a skidded to a stop. “Come on Rosie! We gotta catch up if we’re gonna see the good parts!” He said, excited as he bounced through the snow, looking around for his siblings. Milo was not too far away, and Maddox barked for him to come with. Whether his brother complied or not would be up to him, but he was sure that they had heard Dante talking about going to the hunting grounds and watching. There was no way that Milo himself couldn’t because of those huge ears he possessed. Maddox wanted to go tug on them just to get him to come along, but he wanted to stay next to his newfound friend as they headed towards the hunting ground, making sure that he kept up with her, his little legs working overtime to make sure they were going at a fast enough pace to get there in time for the hunt.

They were getting ready to go play, but the return of the general put that idea to rest, as he announced he had brought with him some new additions to the pack. It was strange hearing that; they had pretty much had the wolves they did in the pack for quite a while, so knowing there would be not one, but three new faces felt weird. He supposed that if they had any hidden intentions the general would be savvy to them and wouldn't have brought them back. He was older and smarter than himself, after all. His brindled head turned back to see the faces he would be now living with, trotting behind Snow as she approached, but while she gave a grand introduction, shy Fenrir opted for a respectful head nod. Stepping aside as his mother came into view, his ears flicked at the mention of his siblings. He noticed his own name wasn't called of the litter. Before he could stop himself, a deep frown set into his maw. He was being excluded, intentionally or not. He wasn't a hunter, he knew that, he definitely wasn't a warrior, but just knowing he wasn't even thought of or looked at as the group began to leave sent a stab of pain in his chest. His lip quivered, just slightly, before Snow herself encouraged him to run along with them if he wanted to. Of course he did. His family was going on a hunting trip. But then again, he wasn't even mentioned. He probably wasn't wanted. He would just screw something up for them and then they wouldn't want him around even more. His conflict shown plain on his face. He should probably just stay here like they want and stay with Snow. She payed attention to him, praised him, said his name. He didn't know why he wasn't as good as his siblings, why he couldn't be a hunter or warrior like his family was. Was it because he stopped before he even tried? He could show them he could hunt, tell them about how he caught two hens earlier for Snow. He took a step forward, but his doubt was plain on his face. "Mom didn't say my name. She doesn't want me to go with them. I'm not a fighter. I can hunt, but not as good as Parker or Hydran, and I'm not gonna be the alpha someday, either. Maybe mom just doesn't want me to embarrass her." When he spoke it out loud, it seemed to solidify the thought process in his head, making it seem more likely to be the truth than what was most likely the real reason: He simply wasn't a hunter and didn't really need to watch unless he chose to tag along. But even then, the son who looked much like his mother hated to be a burden or mess up anything for anyone, so he usually chose to step aside. Salutary Snow Rose Alphess Ventus @dante

Salutary Snow Rose
The girl who's always smiling
It seemed that the act of merely mentioning the Lubruscan Alpha lead to the conjuration of his presence along the river-bank encampment, his scent filled Snow Rose's nose only a few seconds before the big white teddy bear called out her name. She looked to him with a shallow dip of her head in greeting before flashing a warm smile to the friend that she had made upon entering the pack. It was strange to think about how far they had come ever since that day when they had met at the borders, both of them now proudly wearing superiors' titles as well as situating themselves within the pack in their own ways. For Mochi, he had found himself a loving mate, and was now a doting father. For Snow Rose, she had become a beacon of warmth, love and friendliness to anyone who sought it, and she had the immense pleasure of passing on her knowledge to the next generation of Lubrusca. Words could not begin to describe how proud Snow was of all of their accomplishments.
“What on earth are you still doing here? Clear out and have fun. Macha and I will hold down the fort from here on out.” Mochi's dismissal from her duties in the Commons sent a spark of excitement to gleam in her eyes above the ever-present smile that expanded in it's sincerity. Snow Rose watched as the little ball of creamy fuzz unlatched himself from the Alpha's leg for long enough to squeak his excitement, “Come on Rosie! We gotta catch up if we’re gonna see the good parts!” She shook her head in amusement at the boy's antics, and felt a comforting warmth spreading through her chest at the nickname that the youngling had given her. Snow Rose was now sure that she would do anything for this kid that had wormed his way into her heart.
"Thanks Moch, your daughter is absolutely beautiful, by the way. She looks just like her old man," she teased with a playful wink before trotting away with a giggle trailing behind her, fully aware that she had just indirectly called Mochi beautiful. Maddox had left her behind in an explosion of snow, and was bounding towards the tree-line with the energy one could expect from a pup, but before she picked up her pace to catch up with him, her gentle gaze fell on Fenrir who still occupied the Commons. Her gait slowed and eventually came to a stop as concern crossed her features. "Mom didn't say my name. She doesn't want me to go with them. I'm not a fighter. I can hunt, but not as good as Parker or Hydran, and I'm not gonna be the alpha someday, either. Maybe mom just doesn't want me to embarrass her." Her apprentice's fractured confidence gleam through his every word, and Snow Rose could do nothing but sigh. It was disheartening to see him being so doubtful of his place within his own family, and it pained her greatly to watch as he seemed to exclude himself from their activities. Of course they were each being trained for different roles within the pack, meaning that some would spend more time with the others, but it didn't make sense for Fennie to be completely cut off from the wolves who were suppose to love him the most.
"Just because you have a different future from the rest of your siblings doesn't mean you have to disconnect from them completely. I know your mother has been somewhat distant with you lately, but it's her job to train them, it's my job to train you, and it's your job to balance between your studies and your family. Don't forget that, Fennie. And don't for a second think that your mother would ever be embarrassed by a single thing you do. You're young, you're learning and you're aloud to make mistakes." Snow Rose spoke with passion and sincerity, weaving her words together as best as she could, hoping that Fenrir would take her wisdom and learn from it. "You're a smart boy, and she knows it, the whole pack knows it. You just have to believe in yourself, kiddo," she finished with a wink before looking over her shoulder and realising that Maddox was almost out of eyesight. The Salutary gave her apprentice one last smile before she darted after the youngling, thin legs and newly gained energy bringing her to catch up to Maddox with a surprising amount of speed. She gave a small giggle as she came to the youngling's side. "Betcha I can get to the Hunting Ground before you," she teased, coaxing the youngling into a little game in which she would be sure to let him win. She just hoped that they would arrive before the real fun of the hunt began.

OMEGA MACHA OF LUBRUSCA
Macha smiled at her father as he spent some time with her. The feeling of being dotted on was nice, not something she was particularly used to. Of course he had when she was younger, but then some many things had happened. They grew farther apart and hadn't done this in a long while. Just walking and talking. This made her feel more at home than she had in a while, she didn't even know that this was part of what she was missing.
The commons was pleasantly empty except for a few wolves. Parker's scent was fresh so he must have been here only a short time ago. Probably off hunting. A few new scents was there as well, perhaps new wolves joined? New faces seemed like a great thing for Lubrusca, as they hadn't had anything new in while. Eyeing her father he spoke to Snow before dipping inside and bringing out a white ball of fluff. Eyes watched the little thing move about before placed in front of her. She watched her father's mouth intently, he was introducing her! A large smile split her lips as her tail began eagerly wagging behind herself.
"Key-Lala?" she uttered, the feeling felt off to how he moved his lips, again she tried. "Kill-ah, Ke-ah-la?" At her fathers nod, she was getting close. "Kea-lah?" Again she sounded out the word and another affirmative nod. Speaking at normal speed, "Keala?" A salmon tongue swept across her forward and she wagged her tail happily at her father's approval.
"Hello, Keala, I'm your bigger sister," she said softly, happily laying down next to her snow white sister. Licking the top the little bundle attempted to worm its way into her fur. Chuckling she helped the little one to get comfy before her attention was caught away towards those around. Snow seemed to be intently talking to Fenrir and her ears pulled down uncertainly. Looking to her father, confused, she looked back to the other two. What did she just miss?

Nascha must've dozed off! One second ago he was listening to his brothers exclaim about their futures and the next, he was being jostled awake by the leaving form of Aunty Ven. Noticing that he was the only one of his siblings left in the den, the little owl-like pup dashed out on his Aunt's heels. His father's voice drew his attention away from the retreating forms of most of the wolves in Lubrusca, “Go follow Basil! Maddox, would you like to come along with us? Make sure to let your brothers know they can come too of course, but you can stay if you’d like. We’re going to go hunting, and give you, Snow, and everyone else something to eat. Would you like to watch?”
With a start, the ever-studious pup didn't even have time to look towards the newish face that smelled a lot like Lubrusca. Running as fast as his developing legs would let him, Nascha closed the distance between him and his siblings on their journey to the hunting grounds. He'd never seen a hunt before! It brought home food, he knew that, but how? Did they lift the beasts? Push them? Pull them? There was just so much to learn! Maybe Dad would be a part of the hunt too and then he'd really get to see how it's done.

Macha regarded her younger sister with soft, loving eyes, her jet-black tail jauntily batting side to side. "Key-Lala?" She mouthed, sheepishly testing out the new phrase on her tongue. Mochi shook his snowy head gently, urging her to try once more. "Kill-ah? Ke-ah-la?" He nodded, eyes gleaming with approving, quiet affirmation. “Yes, that’s right. Go on,” he assured her. "Kea-lah?" There it was! He dipped his head in a quiet nod. "Keala?" Softly, a sanguine tongue swiped against her forehead, awarding her for her efforts. "Hello, Keala, I'm your bigger sister," She cheered softly, happily taking her turn to coddle the cream-streaked pup. Mochi chuckled at the squeaky, mewling squeals, the wriggling of ivory against deep ash. “I think she likes you,” He chirped, the onyx corners of his mouth curling to a sweet, pleased smile. “You’re going to be wonderful friends, I just know it. Is there anything you’d like to do together? We can take some time off.” Tagged: Omega Macha

There was a good chance he was just alienating himself further from his family by putting himself down like he was, and maybe there wasn't even a rift between him and his siblings and mother that they knew of, and just assumed Fenrir liked to do his own thing, but his overthinking caused him to think there was something there besides a motherly stare when the alphess looked at him, something akin to disappointment. Even he himself knew he was probably overthinking and overreacting, but that didn't mean he could just stop doing it. As he ran himself in circles with excuses as to why he shouldn't join his family despite kinda wanting to, Snow Rose was on her way to play with Mochi's newest pup, but stopped to hear his stuttered response. She gave a small sigh before giving a small speech about him doubting his place in his pack and in his family. It was these kinds of talks that helped him the most, because while it was a harsh truth, she said it in a way that didn't embarrass or talk down to him. It helped to hear someone outside of his head give it to him straight; it helped him get his own feelings out more directly. "I just wish I could be really strong, and a wolf the whole pack can put their weight on. Like the alpha.. Lifting herbs isn't exactly physically taxing," he added before his mentor bounded off, him deciding to go ahead and follow his mother and siblings to where they had gone to train. Even if he didn't do anything and just stayed out of the way, he could have the chance to see a spar or a hunt, and maybe he could practice by himself later on at night where no one would watch him fumble. At the river, there was just enough quiet for him to fully remember the wolves that he’d loved and lost. First, there came Luca, the older brother that had been stolen away by an unknown force. For the longest of times, he’d regarded his separation as something of an unfortunate accident, but nothing that couldn’t be resolved in time. How long had he wandered the rogue lands in wait, in that endless cycle of three sunsets before moving onwards? Perhaps this could be attributed towards his brother’s overprotectiveness, which he had always attributed to love — which it was, but now as an adult, he could see his true motive. His brother had simply been guarding his innocence, trying his absolute damndest to maintain his bubbly, airheaded brother’s eternal optimism at his own harsh expense. Dante closed his eyes as he reached the river’s edge, stretching out against newly grown budding spring grasses. Mourning was never a simple process, but it became all the more difficult when you never realized you should have. A sharp exhale slipped past softly bared teeth. The time had come to bid his brother his goodbyes. The second hadn’t been a wolf at all, but there had been something distinct within him; something childish, sweet, and oblivious that had passed on somewhere in the rogue lands. It was when harsh fangs had first pierced his pelt, when three wolves had attacked him and Elenor for seemingly no reason other than they could and decimated them. It was then that he’d first realized the extent of evil that existed within their world; for no feasible rhymes, reasons, or aims other than that it was possible. He still sensed traces of that innocence within his children as they were now, who’d never been exposed to a true sense of loss. Theirs too, would pass on eventually, but for all his love of them, he hoped they would keep it as long as possible. Their arrival at Lubrusca had yielded its own unique loss, one that he couldn’t quite completely voice. Truthfully, some wouldn’t have classified their loss as loss at all, considering they hadn’t known the wolves that had passed on. Still, to have lost dozens of packmates in a single afternoon: hundreds of stories untold, dozens of friendships unhad — it was too much for anyone to handle. Cleaning up the Commons had been horrifying. They’d identified wolves (when it was possible) and provided them the best graves they could dig from hardening earth. He’d mourned them, and tried his best to recall their names whenever he could. Was that not the least he could do for his unknown? Ventus, although he hadn’t known her at the time, had suffered a horrifying loss that haunted his dreams even now. To have lost not one, but two pups, and to know they’d suffered all the way through was heart wrenchingly awful. He’d sympathized with her then, but now that he’d children of his own he couldn’t imagine her pain. The last of his losses would have been unbearable had it not been what she’d left behind: the five precious, lovely, perfect children that carried every bit of her likeness. Would she have been pleased with how they had turned out? The brook gently babbled. He swiveled his ears softly. “Hello love,” He mused softly, more to himself than anyone. "They’re perfect, just like you said they were. I hope you’re proud of them too.”

It hadn’t taken her long to figure out where the General was headed to. The path to the Forest River was all too familiar to Sitka. It had been where they made camp for the majority of their time there, only recently moving back to the commons after the snow melted and revealed that there was still life there. She had heard from the other wolves that a fire had ravaged the territory. The pack had lost many in the fire, and had only lost more once a Ferus wolf had come in and taken the Beta of the pack and a scout with him to find a horror that lay outside the border. This had all happened before Sitka had joined, but she held sympathy for those that were lost in the fire, and with no return of the Beta and Scout, the loss of those that abandoned as well. She was familiar with the concept of death, and it was something that was always hard to swallow. Her thoughts brought her to her mentor, the one that had never given a name, but simply trained her and passed before she could figure it out. Then to Esmera, the pup that she had lost within her time caring for Rylan and Grimm. She felt herself frown at the thought of the two pups that she had promptly abandoned. It was stupid of her, to not take them with her. But she found them a home. That’s what she was supposed to do. That was her goal. But a piece of her told her that their home had been with her, and they were hers.
Even if she had found another home, her heart ached at the thought of the one she had abandoned. But there was no going back now. She had found herself a place where she was happy, and alas, she didn’t want to leave this one as well. She hoped that the two were doing better in their lives now, that they were thriving. They would be nearing their year in life now, and she hoped it was spent well. Coming upon the river, she saw Dante, his frame not hard to find against the grass that held buds of new life. She approached, one paw placed gently after another as she came upon the General. “Dante,” She spoke softly, looking towards him. “Are you okay?” She asked, looking over the male with a small glimmer of sadness to her eyes as she read his body language. There was most definitely something wrong, and she came to sit down. If he wanted her to leave he could simply ask, but she was there to listen if he needed.
