While Wren waited for Luke's response, she was not ignorant of the fact that only a few meters away a tragedy had occurred. The loss of a loved one wasn't something that could just be airbrushed over as a small bump in pack life. This was a life lost, and another thrown into turbulence and confusion. Though she had matured in her time in Noctis, dealing with grief was never her strong suit. When she had left her birth pack, both of her parents, and all of her siblings had been alive. She had never learned what to do in a situation of grief. She knew that being sad was a large part, but comforting other wolves wasn't her strong suit. All words she could say seemed to have an effect, but they felt foreign and fake coming out of her mouth. It was a real dilemma. She wanted to comfort Tamlin, but she didn't know how. However, it seemed that Ater had gone to the pup for now, so at least he had some form of comfort. “My brother and sister have come to join us from the neighboring pack, Somnus. I would like to have plenty of prey to feast upon while we talk,” her attention snapped back to the male in front of her as he explained himself. A nod quickly followed his words. It always felt like an eternity passed between hunts for the eager female. That and the fact that a hunt would distract her mind from the doom and gloom that had fallen on Noctis. “I want you to come with, and bring anyone you think would be useful. I trust my very best hunter has a specific few in mind that will ensure a hunt is executed correctly for us tonight,” a small huff left the she-wolf and her head ducked down in embarrassment. Surely she wasn't the best hunter in Noctis; there had to be someone better! But either way, she would do her best to follow Luke's instructions. As he moved away to talk to his siblings, Wren looked around at the commons at the wolves who were awake and looked in a good enough state to hunt. Now, this was stressful! Before, she had been the one recruited into the hunts and had followed instructions. This time the role was reversed! However, the spunky she-wolf wasn't about to let that stop her from following Luke's instructions as best she could. She didn't feel exactly comfortable in asking any of the superiors to hunt with them, especially since there was already one Alpha, and just taking a quick look at his siblings' mannerisms, possibly another Alphess and a higher rank? It would make sense for Luke to be Alpha of Noctis and one of his siblings to be Alphess of Somnus. Getting her mind back on track, Wren concluded that she wouldn't ask Sasha, Seven, Yoki, or Hoshi to help, mostly because it seemed that they had their paws well full with Zero's condition and Tamlin's grief. Looking back at the rest of the pack members, she tried to formulate a plan. The wolves that were for sure going were Luke, his siblings, and herself. Luke could be a heavy force; though they were about the same size, he held much more muscle and power. His brother was an absolute gargantuan wolf, definitely a powerhouse for the team as well. His sister seemed lighter, a bit more like a runner than an attacking force. Lastly, herself. She seemed to be the lightest out of the four, and already knew that she was more of a tactical, speedy force than an unbalancing one. That split the four evenly in half between runners and brute force. Wren's face lit up as she realized that the two wolves that she had been leaf sliding with were both of the body types she was looking to split the team into. Aili was light and Wren knew for a fact that she was fast and a good huntress. And Ater, well, she was basically self-explanatory! The only problem was that Ater was comforting Tamlin. Facing the moral dilemma, Wren made a quick decision. "Ater, Aili, could you join us please?" Wren called out to the wolves she considered to be her friends. There were many wolves crowded around Tamlin, and one of them was bound to comfort the devastated teen. Slightly nervous about whether or not her choice of wolves was some sort of test, Wren followed Luke and his siblings into the hunting grounds. -Exit to Noctis Hunting Grounds- Alpha Luke Alpha Draco Alphess Eureka Hunting Superior Ater @aili

Ozmond shuffled blankly in the commons, watching with a placid expression as two new wolves entered the commons alongside Luke. There was no need to investigate, their exhaustingly similar scents practically knocked over the warrior. Siblings. He’d heard of them, surely. But it was odd, the small, flighty female seemed to be the dominant of the pair. Suppressing a snort of amusement, the handsome brute instead dipped his head to the visitors, resisting the urge to give Draco a knowing look; he’d faced similar rejection from superiority, after all. With a final look over the two, he padded to Wren, who Luke had approached in efforts of starting a hunt.
He grinned at the Alpha’s words, giving Wren a hearty bump of the shoulder. “Hear that?” He quirked his head in a playfully congratulatory manner, a small tease at the compliment she’d received. “Well, I hope the best hunter wouldn’t mind if I accompanied you all on the hunt?” He slung a smile her way, the friendly mannerisms he’d suddenly adopted taking every ounce of his being. If Wren agreed, he’d whisk away beside her, if not, he’d come anyways, a watchful eye for any injuries.

"NO! Nonononono," Tamlin wailed, burying his face into his brother's fur. Ears drooped, tail hanging limply, paws heavy all of a sudden, Hoshi watched sadly as Tamlin sobbed sullenly. Helpless, Hohsi couldn't find words of comfort to console the shaken teen. Instead, she told him that there was nothing more that they could have done. She, herself, was shedding tears. Not that she could hold them back anyway. They splashed down her nuzzle and dripped down her orangish coat of fur. Trembling, Hoshi stared at the lifeless body of Aedion, Tamlin's brother. She could only wish so much that her stare had magical healing powers, that she could use this unique feature to revive one of Noctis' only pups. Her mind was racing. Her thoughts were echoeing throughout her mind. They were so loud to her, like the booms of thunders, but strangely inaudible to others. Is there anything that can be done to resurrect Aedion? Anything. Anything at all? Come on, there must be way. Think. Hoshi was getting desperate. Herbs. Herbs. Herbs. That was all she could think. about. No, you silly, that wouldn't work. After awhile of re-consulting her own medical knowledge countless times, she realised that it was pointless. She was over-working herself. Nothing could be done. Nothing. Aedion was gone. He was really gone. As a healer, she had failed. She had failed to find a cure for Aedion. Sobbing uncontrollably, Hoshi continued gazing at Aedion's motionless body,a confirmed corpse. She thought of all reasons how Aedion ended up this way. He was only a pup. Just a pup. He still had a whole life full of many adventures awaiting him. Yet, he had left this world early. He didn't deserve this fate. Tamlin too. She understood how the he-wolf felt, for she had lost a loved one before too. The whole world must had been tearing apart for him at. this moment. None of the two brothers deserved this. "Tamlin," a soft voice spoke from behind them. The speaker, was a she-wolf, covered in a dark grey fur and a coat of soft white fur. It was Omega Ater. The she-wolf sat down beside Tamlin, who had collapsed next to his brother. "We're all here for you,"Her tail was flicking around his pelt in somewhat a comforting manner. Hoshi wasn't sure if either Ater's voice or her tail-flicking-method had done the trick. The upset teen did not show any hint of ease as he continued sulking away. Yet, she knew that it must had healed his broken heart a little, something Hoshi realised she couldn't quite cure herself. Hoshi shot the omega a grateful look before joining in for further support, "Yeah, we're all here for you We all are."Meanwhile, Hoshi was aware that the Alpha Luke had left the common ground with a few packmates following suit. Having been busied by the tragedy unfolding before her, Hoshi didn’t exactly know what was going on but couldn’t care less. Zero was half dead but Hoshi had already done what she could for him. He should be in a stable condition now, unconscious. She would tend to the beta later, to check his vital signs and monitor his rather severe condition. First, she had to calm Tamlin down. "I know how you feel," Hoshi whispered kindly, approaching the distressed teen. "Stay strong, I know you can do it. Stay strong, Tamlin."

| For the ebony female, the quiet journey back to the commons was made with a heavy heart. When the small group finally broke through the trees into the familiar camp, Zero’s bloodied body was placed on the ground. Seven’s golden eyes held onto her friend for a long moment. What could have happened to him? How could this have happened; was there something that could have been done? A thousand questions roared in her mind, as though she was trying to distract for the one question that would beat down upon her with shattering finality: Could he really be gone?Pounding footsteps poured through the air. The raven she-wolf turned, catching sight of the snowy form of young Tamlin. Immediately, Seven’s breath caught in her throat; the male seemed frantic, choking sobs wracking his chest even as he scrambled to Luke’s side, pleading and begging. With shock and worry etched into every line of her visage, Seven listed as the young male cried, “Please help Aedion. He walked straight into the river, he hit his head on the rocks and I dragged him over to the side but he isn’t breathing! Vera’s bringing him here! Please, Alpha, Please!”No. No, no, no, no, no. This couldn’t be - so many losses in a single day? How could this happen? And to poor Tamlin, who had already lost so much. He had already been without a mother, a sister, or a father figure. Now, he was alone in the world. Seven knew all too well what that was like, too well to wish it upon anyone. The female’s blood rushed in her ears, turning the sounds around her muddled and foggy. She watched, almost paralyzed, as Vera arrived with Aedion’s limp body, which was quickly received by Hoshi. Seven didn’t need to hear to know what had happened; Hoshi’s expression was enough. Tamlin buried his tear-soaked face in his brother’s fur, wailing in despair. “Seven.” Her mate’s whispered voice was enough to shake Seven from her grief-filled trance. She looked into the face she loved so very much, so comfortingly familiar. A small part of her wanted to spill her grief for her fallen packmates to him, but now was not the time. That would be for another moment, another day. “ Please tend to Tamlin.” “Of course,” she replied softly, even as he turned away to return to his other companions. She sighed heavily, her eyes fixing themselves upon the poor, grieving teenager. Several other Noctis wolves had already gathered around him, likely offering him comfort and condolences. For the second time that day, the alphess moved to join them. Soft steps carried her to the young alabaster male, whose grief settled over them like a stiff blanket of snow. Leaning down, Seven pressed her muzzle briefly to his flank. “Tamlin,” she murmured, “I am so, so sorry and I wish from the bottom of my heart that I could do something to ease your pain. And I know fully well that the apologies and the sympathy does not ease your burden and I am surely the last individual you wish to be hearing any of this from. But I am here - we all are. Not only as your alphess, but as your packmate and someone who cares deeply about you, I want only to see you well and happy once more. And I know that’s going to be a long, hard journey for you, but you need to be strong - for Aedion. In return, we will be strong for you, and each and every one of us will be here to support you whenever you need it. I pledge that to you personally.”Seven did not know if her words were the right ones, or if they would provide Tamlin with the comfort she knew he needed. She hoped, however, that her meaning would find him, and he would know how much he was cared for. She wanted him to know that he would not walk this path alone; she would be right there with him. By now, Seven was aware of her own glistening tears, sliding against her onyx fur. She did not attempt to fight them. Instead, she remained next to Tamlin and shared his grief. Numbness. Time faded all pain. Icy tendrils of grief and anguish chilled him, freezing his sense of time. How long he had laid there crying was a foreign concept to him. The she-wolf's kind words provided a thin blanket, like a single cobweb, over the gaping wound that was the entirety of his being. Momentarily it held him together, but within seconds he had metaphorically bled through it. Just being there wasn't enough. His mother should have been here. His father should have been here. His uncles, his sister, his brother, all should have been here. But they weren't. Two were dead, the other four missing, abandoning him here in his personal circle of hell. "Yeah, we're all here for you We all are. I know how you feel. Stay strong, I know you can do it. Stay strong, Tamlin," Hoshi's gentle whisper added another thin layer of cobweb to his wounds. Of course, many if not all adults in Noctis weren't born into the pack, so they would have had to leave their families behind to venture out. That was extraordinarily different. Choosing to leave one's family was one thing. Having the family you cherish leave you was much worse and cut a hell of a lot deeper. A flare of grief-driven anger lit up in his system, but he released it within his next sob. The last time he let his anger take over him, it had ended up with Luke bellowing at them, which had lead Aedion to the river, which only lead back here. "Tamlin," his name fell from the Alphess' maw as her muzzle brushed against him, “I am so, so sorry and I wish from the bottom of my heart that I could do something to ease your pain. And I know fully well that the apologies and the sympathy do not ease your burden and I am surely the last individual you wish to be hearing any of this from. I pledge that to you personally.” Tamlin could only give a cough and a small nod of his head. Any length of time ahead of the present wasn't a possibility in Tamlin's mind. He couldn't envision what he would do tomorrow, or even an hour from now, but he knew that he would stay. Stay in Noctis, stay alive, just stay. Even though the amount of pain that being in Noctis had brought him was immense, it was still his home, and now his family. He wasn't strong enough to leave. For the first time in many minutes, Tamlin moved. Slowly, as if plagued with debilitating arthritis, Tamlin lifted his head off of his brother. Dried tears gently pulled on the fur on his face as he moved away millimeter by millimeter. With a sharp inhale, the last crystal of salt separated him and the last of his kin and left Tamlin sitting up alone. His face was a mess; a web of tear trails and snot painting his sorrow. But he didn't care. Breaking the barrier of tears, Tamlin finally opened his eyes. Instantly, tears spilled out from his eyelids as he looked at his brother. The sodden, bloodied mess was no longer his brother, not truly. Aedion wouldn't have done this to himself if he was in the right state of mind. He wouldn't have left him alone knowing that he felt the same way. Slowly, he scooted backward, shuddery breaths shaking his frame. He needed to seek solace in others. Aedion wasn't there to be his rock any longer. The pearl teen pressed himself against the obsidian frame of the Alphess, his flank touching her first before he swung his chest and head around to bury into her fur. Though he tried to hold them back, a few rebellious tears still escaped his eyes as he curled himself into Seven. He couldn't help it. Seeking comfort in others after only keeping with his siblings all of his life was a foreign and desperate act to receive comfort. @seven Hunting Superior Ater Salutary Hoshi

Hoshi’s words of consolation, or so she thought were comforting, didn’t seem to have any effect on the sulking pearl. Instead, he continued sobbing. Heart aching for the teen, Hoshi wanted to say more but she knew that nothing she said would make Tamlin feel better. In fact, she might make the situation worse. Maybe she was cunning, witty and all, but in times like this, she had no idea what to say. She was speechless, again. Then, a dark female scooted over to the scene, looking really concerned about everything. Hoshi recognised that pair of kind, yellow eyes. It was the Alphess. The she-wolf gently approached Tamlin and rested her snout on the teen’s body. “Tamlin,” she was mumbling to him. Hoshi pricked her ears to pick up what she was saying.: “I am so, so sorry and I wish from the bottom of my heart that I could do something to ease your pain. And I know fully well that the apologies and the sympathy does not ease your burden and I am surely the last individual you wish to be hearing any of this from. But I am here - we all are. Not only as your alphess, but as your packmate and someone who cares deeply about you, I want only to see you well and happy once more. In return, we will be strong for you, and each and every one of us will be here to support you whenever you need it. I pledge that to you personally.” Well said, Alphess, Hoshi thought to herself. Seven had summed up everything Hoshi was trying her best to convey but had no idea how to do so. She was pretty amazed at how easily Seven had managed to tell that to Tamlin. True. Meaningful. Comforting at the same time. A pang of guilt hit Hoshi as her thoughts wandered to Aedion. She had failed to save him. This was all she could think about. It was her fault that Tamlin ended up like this. The star burned with anger, directing all her hatred towards herself. At the same time, she was ashamed, deeply ashamed that she could not ease Tamlin’s pain herself. She needed two other wolves to do it for her. While Hoshi was grieving and berating herself silently, she hadn’t quite noticed that the teen had finally pulled away from his brother. Hoshi watched as he buried his head in the Alphess’ black fur, a warm and cozy spot. Seven’s speech had definitely done the trick. Now, she was Tamlin’s pillar of support. It was heartwarming, to see the ball of fur seeking comfort from the alphess. Still shedding tears, Hoshi shot a grateful look, not unlike the one she gave Ater, at the alphess. Her eyes glistened, admiring how Seven had conducted herself. Thats our Alphess, true and true. Now that there were two wolves at Tamlin’s side, comforting him, Hoshi knew that they would be able to cure his broken heart. For now, she needed to check on Zero, who Hoshi could picture was lying unconsciously on the grass. No words from Hoshi would make matters for Tamlin better. Sighing, Hoshi pulled herself together, wiping her tears away with a paw. She dragged herself to where the white-furred body lay at, her whole body still droopy from depression. When she reached the beta, he was in a mess. There were patches of cobwebs hanging loosely from his fur, beneath it was the mash of flowers and nuts made by Hoshi herself. He was more or less in the same state as before. Eyes shut tightly, Zero lay limply, his body motionless except for the rising and falling of his chest. Hoshi noted that this was normal. The beta was still under the sedative powers of the lettuce. It would take a while for the effect to wear off. Reaching out her paw, Hoshi hovered it just above his nose. The moving chest that rose up and down steadily had already indicated that Zero was breathing fine. However, Hoshi just had to make sure. Her paw felt a warm gust of air being expelled, then the sucking of air into Zero’s nostrils, before the expulsion of air again. The cycle repeated itself over and over again. Ok, his breathing is normal, Hoshi noted. To allow air to pass through Zero’s airways easier, Hoshi tilted the beta’s jaw up and to the side again, like she had done previously. Ticking off at a mini checklist in her mind, Hoshi leaned forward, now to listen to his heart beat. Inside his ribcage, there was an audible noise that came on a regular basis. Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub, Lub-Dub. Good. The pulse was steady, nothing to worry about. Finally, Hoshi took a step back, satisfied with her work. Beta Zero’s condition was severe but stable for now. She would still have to monitor him closely. For hygiene purposes, Hoshi made a mental note to change his dressings - the spiderweb, clean his wounds and apply new antiseptic herbs on them every day. She would inform the Alpha later about Zero’s condition when he returned from wherever he went. For now, Hoshi didn’t have anything else to do, and she wasn’t going to return to Tamlin’s side. So, she settled peacefully next to Zero, awaiting the return of Luke. “What on earth happened to you?” she whispered to the beta, even though she knew that he could not hear her. And Hoshi was off daydreaming, staring blankly at the unconscious wolf.

So much was happening. So much was going on. Wolves came and went, cries rung out with other's dissipating their sadness into silence, the earth collecting tears the dropped into the soil. But Vera sat idle, unmoving, only watching with ears hanging sideways, and her expression displaying a disgusted look. How on earth could Luke be going on a hunt with a pup dead and his Beta dying, brows furrowed in irritation as she suppressed a growl. Vera had been sat a little further away, allowing other wolves like Hoshi and Ater to comfort Tamlin, and eventually miss black beauty herself joined the party.
It wasn’t that Vera didn’t care, for as much as the cold thin line set in stone on her lips tried to hide it, the heart-breaking nature of the situation caused grief to seep in her orbs, body failing to uphold it rigidness as her neck drooped, her head pointed to the ground. The scene brought up past memories, more prominently her own brother in particular. Constantly reminded of the shot. The shot that rung through her ears like thunder, as she ran in cowardice, sure that it had been her brother. She had withheld that guilt for years, and it was still there, still writhing beneath the chains she kept on her emotions, the only one ever slipping through was her snappish nature, mostly the easiest to display to the rest of the world.
Letting the girls comfort Tamlin the best they could, Vera turned away, and stormed off. Ruffling her pelt with a forceful shake she moved away from all the commotion in a hurry, not looking where she was going as her wet paws sloshed through the ground. Till she unexpectedly slammed into someone’s chest who evidently was taller then she was. The scent of his pelt hit her nose instantly, as she was stopped dead in her tracks, head plummeted into his fur.
The she-wolf had to blink her orange audits before she realized where she was. “Ugh!” She snapped suddenly, taking steps backwards as a scowl sat on her lips as slowly his chest and neck came into view again. “Watch where you’re going ya big-“ The vixen paused as Zachariah’s face finally came into view. This wasn’t a rogue. She was in a pack. And this was a pack member. Shit. Though still irritated, her gaze darted away, her eyes avoiding, looking swollen and red, never willing to spill, but clearly aggravated with redness from all that had happened. “Sorry.” The she-wolf exhaled. Shifty audits momentarily looking to him before darting away again. “It’s been a long shitty day.” The muddy Colombian admitted.

Zachariah, without really noticing, walked his way into the commons of his pack. His sight was in good shape, yet something did not allow him to see clearly, or something made him just not care about what he could come across. The brute could barely hear that something was going down, cries, whines and the loud voices of wolves, all of which he managed to recognize. It's probably nothing, they most likely don't need me there, he thought. Still, he felt bad about that kind of thought crossing his head. He was a warrior, he was supposed to be there when his pack needed him, and no emotions should be able to change that. Not even a rejection from Sasha herself. Alright, I'll go chec-. His train of thought suddenly came to a stop, when another wolf, a smaller and more feminine body, clashed against his. It took her but a few moments to regain her composture, and boy was she cranky. “Ugh! Watch where you’re going ya big-“. She expressed herself, almost even insulting him, but when the bitch looked up and finally saw his face, she paused, and shamefully turned her sight from his direction. Not so tough now, are you? The warrior felt good doing that, for some strange reason. This day had been ruined already, so why not have a little fun this time around?. Nothing too serious, just a small game for the fun of it. But then, the brown he-wolf recapacitated. He was a warrior for the Noctis pack, he just couldn't be always fooling around the place, much less with whatever mess was going on at the commons. He had to be useful. Right then, after the pause, the female before him apologized, excusing herself with an “It’s been a long shitty day.”. Of course it was, it really was one long day, but apparently someone shared his pain in that regard. Not that the male enjoyed the misfortune in others, no, he just felt accompanied now. "It's fine, don't apologize. Now, if you could be so kind to just tell me what's going on there, it would be appreciated". He said, confidently and bluntly, without putting that much thought into the commentary. From there, he could see his alphess, the saluratary and one of the Omegas, surrounding something. Upon closer inspection, two small creatures laid there, two pups. I have the feeling that this ain't going to end well...

Vera noticed that the male seemed pretty much unfazed by their little collision. Amber optics studied him with a somewhat curious glance. "It's fine, don't apologize. Now, if you could be so kind to just tell me what's going on there, it would be appreciated.Vera would cast a glance at the crowd behind her, releasing a snort in displeasure before returning to look to the male. “Aedion’s dead.” She declared bluntly. “The Beta’s dying.” She stated dully. “And Tamlin’s crying his eyes out whilst Luke is out in the hunting grounds playing a game of catch with his siblings that recently showed up.” She snarkily reported with a roll of her eyes. “That pretty much sums it up. I needed a fucking breather.” The she-wolf noted as her rump hit the floor. “So what’s you excuse for being away from all the commotion?” She asked, had he not already darted off to the rest, she doubted he’d want to sit and talk to the hermit crab. The female analyzed him, curious yellow eyes watched him from ears to paws as he pronounced his words. Snorting and watching the group behind her, the packmember that stumbled into the warrior about a minute before explained. "Aedion's dead; The beta is dying..."Wait what? When? How? Why?. A startled look got drawn on the male's face, as he heard her speak. He hadn't been out for that long, how could so much be happening in that little amount of time? But she continued, surprisingly emotionless, with a bland expression, and, considering that two pack members were dead or on their way to it, and one of them was a mere chile, that was strange. Suspiciously strange. “And Tamlin’s crying his eyes out whilst Luke is out in the hunting grounds playing a game of catch with his siblings that recently showed up. That pretty much sums it up. I needed a fucking breather.”. Yeah, the breather was completely justified. Though, now Zack was considering he needed a fucking breather too, damn. Sighing, calming himself down, or at least trying, because his bad mood was really starting to manifest itself, his head even began to hurt. “So what’s you excuse for being away from all the commotion?”. What am I even supposed to answer that with?. Shamefully, the eurasian muttered the start of his answer, not knowing what to really say. A rejection was embarassing, everyone could tell and agree. But being out of the picture, while one of your superiors was on his death bed and one of the pups fucking dead, well, that was pretty much unforgivable. Coughing a bit to disimulate, the brute re-started his answer. "I had some...personal matters to attend to. Pretty important for me". A sigh of relief escaped, as he had managed to pull off a calm and serious voice all around. Inside though, he felt bad, guilty even. But no time for feelings now, Zachariah knew he had to help now, be useful. Walking in the group's direction, he partially turned to this female and spoke. "I know it's hard, but we have to help them out in whatever way we can, so I'm gonna ask you to come with me. Didn't really catch your name, though.". Regardless of Vera's response, Zack will go to the group's location either way.

Vera’s resting bitch face was unaltered by the startled look in his eyes. The devastation of the situation easily fell in line with previous experiences in her still short span of life, and having lived in a world where disease thrived and was spread by a single bite. One death always led to another. Yet the difference was that this time there was a twang of guilt in her cold chest, having felt somewhat responsible for at least one of those deaths. The furry peaks atop her forehead twitched impatiently as the male appeared to take everything in, the she-wolf failing to notice the expression of shame in his body language whilst ironically hiding her own. And when she eventually did, her gaze shifted away, uncomfortable with providing any sort of sympathy or support. "I had some...personal matters to attend to. Pretty important for me"She wished she hadn’t asked the question, not commenting on his response as it appeared to her that whatever these personal matters were, they had seriously bothered him somehow, and he was quick to put them aside. And so the bitch suddenly went rigid as he moved past her, she turned her body towards him in the moment he turned to look at her, proposing she came long. A blank gaze now dimmed and narrowed as she hauled her ass off the ground and moved up to walk along besides him. “It’s Vera.” She responded. Her eyes focused on the group, still a fair bit away she knew she was unheard by them. “The dead have it easy.” The vixen spat bitterly. Eyes of a small burning candle flame eyed the lifeless body of Aedion, whom lay unmoving, no longer breathing the cold grieving air of Noctis. “After death-“ She uttered. “There is no struggle, no pain… And so the dead leave us with the insufferable burden of dealing with their death...” A sharp look finally been given to the male Paladin Zachariah

- the constant happiness is curiosity -
Eureka watched with a bit of pride as her brother spoke with one of his packmates. He seemed to regard her highly. His choice of words led Eureka to believe that the wolf was a hunting superior. Eureka watched her with a silly smile knowing her brother would soon invite his siblings on the adventure. A satisfied alphess swayed her tail when Luke turned to her and Draco with an undeniable offer. Luke's spirit was more youthful than it had been since they were pups, and the giddy sister couldn't help but feel that this hunt was going to make them all feel right at home, despite the distance. She excitedly smiled at Draco, nudging his shoulder.
"Let's go!"
Eureka's little paws nearly faltered as she bounded with thrilling anticipation behind her alpha brother. She was happier than ever walking beside him, brother and sister--alpha and alphess. She ushered Draco beside her while she wondered if he'd ever start a pack of his own someday, or if perhaps he'd rule alongside Eureka. That's quite an idea, she mused curiously and with great suspense. She'd never heard of such a dynamic, but Draco had been proving himself time and time again. Maybe something different was exactly what Somnus needed.

"My brother and sister have come to join us from the neighboring pack, Somnus. I would like to have plenty of prey to feast upon while we talk. I want you to come with, and bring anyone you think would be useful. I trust my very best hunter has a specific few in mind that will ensure a hunt is executed correctly for us tonight." the Alpha finishes, and Aili could not help the gape that her jaw fell to, though she quickly snapped her hanging mouth shut. Wren was so lucky to be regarded so highly by Alpha Luke, and for him to trust and praise her so much as to send her on a mission. Slight envy prickled at Aili's paws, though she was happy for her friend. Aili wondered if she would ever be regarded so highly in the pack. Aili's honey gaze followed her friends', who was looking around the common grounds for who to recruit. She could tell the cogs and gears were turning in Wren's brain, and she was calculating and forming the perfect hunting team to get this done. "Ater, Aili, could you join us please?" Wren requests, and Aili suppresses her mouth from hanging open once again. However, shock displays itself in the widening of her eyes. The young female truly loved hunting and it was all she had been good at all her life, but she had hardly a chance to do it in this pack other than on her own. This was something she craved. Not just the rabbit in the woods or the occasional bird or mouse, but the real prey, the big prey. Elation splashes itself across her face messily. "Of course!" she says, trying not to sound too excited, following her friend to the Hunting Grounds. --Exit to Hunting Grounds-- Alphess Wren (posting for her in hunting grounds tomorrow)

Apparently, the female had complied and started to follow him down his path to the group's location, introudcing herself as " Vera". There was something strange about her, that the warrior had caught on. She seemed pissed, and yeah, there was enough reason to be angry right now, considering everything. But, something was different on Vera. When she explained everything about a minute earlier, the British Columbian seemed extremly calm, like a normal bystander who happened to be standing around the right place at the right time, not like an actual member of the pack. Maybe she was trying to mask the feelings? I know I am right now. That conclusion seemed plausible, but something still did not fit the puzzle quite yet. He would have given it more thought if his head was not killing him at the moment, all of these bad events just coming together and all being thrown at the same time at the Eurasian grey were starting to take their toll on him. While shrugging off the pain, the warrior heard the she-wolf speak. “The dead have it easy. After death, there is no struggle, no pain… And so the dead leave us with the insufferable burden of dealing with their death...” There we go again. The sensation he had felt before about her newfound companion came back. Now he would reformulate his thesis. She was not angry, no. She was bitter, almost jealous even. Her little speech contribiuted to the male's migraine, not really in the mood to put up with something so fucking selfish. Carefully holding his own wrath back, the male spoke, barely not grinding his teeth against each other while he did so, out of sheer rage. "We don't really know that, do we?" . Clear spite was noticeable on his tone, passive agressiveness always present, as he continued. "Aside from that, it's really easy to talk like that when you aint the one choking on your own blood or gasping for air on the ground".And with that counter-speech, Zack was satisfied. Waiting for a snappy response or just awkward silence did not matter, he had a job to do, both him and Vera, much like every single Noctis member, present or not. When they finally got to the group's location, the scene was almost equal to the one the female had described earlier. Two bodies layed on the ground, both of them he recognized well. Beta Zero and Aedion, one of the pups. Tamlin was crying over his brother's corpse, surrounded by the likes of the current salutary, Hoshi, the Omega, Ater and the Alphess herself, Seven. Zachariah gulped, both at the scene of death and despair and for whatever consecuences followed this horrible events. Again, the worries of not being alert when his pack needed him flooded his head. The alphess was sitting at the remaining pup's side, and upon further approach, the warrior noticed that she was actually sobbing alongside the surviving brother. The Eurasian attempted to speak, but nothing came out of his mouth. God fucking dammit Zachariah. Building courage up, the warrior tried again, succeeding this time around. "Alphess, do you need me to do anything?"

Look at the stars. The great wolves of the past look down on us from those stars.

Her mind had wandered off into a dreamland, far away from reality. This was not what she had intended to do. She had planned to stay awake, and think of her next move. Yet, she had no idea what to do next, and without even knowing, she had dozed off. A voice seemed to appear from nowhere: ""Alphess, do you need me to do anything?" What Alphess? Daydreamer Hoshi searched her rather realistic dream for anyone called 'Alphess', but to no avail. When she had failed, she finally snapped back to reality to look for 'Alphess'. For a moment, Hoshi had no idea what was going on. Then, everything came back to her at once, Aedion's lifeless body, Tamlin's tears, Zero's severe state. At the mention of the beta, Hoshi jolted upwards in shock as her view focused on an alabaster male. Zero. The beta. Had I been staring at him all the time?Oh no... Deeply embarrassed, she diverted her gaze from the limp wolf in front of her, afraid that someone had noticed her awkwardly staring at him. Her beady eyes scanned her surroundings. She was in the common grounds, right where she had last remembered being in. I haven't been daydreaming for such a long time, right? How can I daydream at a time like this? Hoshi was hopeful. The last time she had unintentionally daydreamed, it seemed to have last forever. Her gaze fell upon the huge crowd nearby that had surrounded something. Or someone. Again, she was befuddled, and a little lost about whatever that was going on. Then, she remembered the number of pack members that had gathered to comfort little Tamlin, and to grief over the loss of a pup. Much to her shock, two new wolves appeared to be there at the scene too. The last time Hoshi had looked in that direction, only Ater, Tamlin, and the Alphess was there. Alphess. So that's the Alphess I should be looking for.Thoroughly ashamed at herself for daydreaming, she desperately wanted to make up for her mistake. She was just about to console the shaken teen when she remembered that she had already tried doing so, but failed miserably. No words that came out from her mouth would do any good. That was the reason why she was here, to check on Zero instead. The healer looked to Seven, just to see Tamlin burying his head in her ebony coat of fluff. Sulking too, maybe. Hoshi couldn't blame him for his tears, for the weight of the situation probably snapped him. Even she herself, had tears in her eyes, and grieved over the tragic incident. The alphess was a stronger pillar of support, and she would let Tamlin and her be. Then, her thoughts wandered back to the two new wolves presence, Zachariah and Vera. They must have came to comfort Tamlin while I was busy daydreaming about stupid things.Everything started to make sense. The warrior must had been asking the alphess if she needed anything. If it was Hoshi, she probably wouldn't have said anything to disturb the duo, but Zachariah was making himself useful. Yet, here she was, finished with her duty of tending to Zero, and just daydreaming away. By now, she had realised that she hadn't put quite distance away from the scene. She was actually still part of it, just a tad apart from the tiny crowd of five. The wait for Luke's return would be long, and gathering more herbs and cobwebs for Zero could wait till later. Yoki's disappearance was mysterious. She was worrying about Zero's injuries awhile back. Her absence now was unexplained but it didn't matter to Hoshi. She had to make herself useful to the situation too, so she spoke softly to Seven, hoping that she wasn't interrupting anything: "Alphess, I know this really isn't the right time to say anything, but I'm at your disposal if you need anything."
