The same amount of prey as in the west, with the exception of more birds and less rockchucks. Water sources include random small ponds or puddles of collected rainwater.

Small Game:
Ground Birds - Rats & Mice - Voles - Ground Turtles
When it comes to small game, the player can choose whether or not their wolf makes the kill. Please keep in mind that a wolf does not make a successful kill every time, usually a best two out of three. Also, please note the territory you are hunting in and the prey listed. This is a cold, rocky, coverless (no trees/bushes, no cover) territory so prey will be pretty difficult to sneak up on. Please keep it realistic.
L A R G E R G A M E Rockchuck (Marmot) - Jackrabbits - Lemmings - Gulls
Though the large game animals listed above aren't the typical large game animals, they are still difficult to kill. Large game hunts cannot be finished in less than two posts if between a pair (or more) of wolves. If it is a solitary wolf, then please add adequate length/detail. Also remember that not all hunts are successful, so please keep it realistic.

Please do not play like you are invincible to other predators. Food OFTEN gets stolen by other animals.

∇ Likotha ∇ "There is no pain, but the one you choose."
The rocky terrain was now normal for Likotha to be wandering. He had been staying on the rocky outlooks for a little while now. His paws were now calloused due to walking across sharp edges and blunt rocks constantly. His jade green eyes blinked open, taking a moment to adjust. He had found a cave within the rocky cliff, taking it as refuge and making it his home. He had brought back feathers and other material to make a nice padding on the floor so that he wasn't sleeping on a solid stone slab. He had been staying here with Lethia, but she had gone and left him there alone, having bore of his consistent routines. He was looking for companionship, but with how he had last been with another, he wasn't sure if anyone else would be interested in staying with him. Although Lethia was a peculiar wolf, she found him boring and decided to move on from him and find something new. He guessed that was how most wolves were, and he wouldn't dwell on it too much, since it had happened months before now. He could only focus on the present and the future. And right now, his stomach was nibbling on itself asking for food.
Bringing himself to stand, he stretched his muscles, letting himself arch his back and shiver as his muscles started to slowly wake up. Yawning and letting his jaw muscles stretch, he licked his lips, letting himself blink once or twice before slowly exiting his small alcove. The sunlight outside was dull, sun covered by a thick gray blanket of clouds. It seems like it was going to possibly start raining. Sighing at the thought of that, he made his way down the rocky slope, calloused paws making it easy to maneuver. He knew his way around these slopes like the back of his paw, and he knew all the best hunting spots. He was going to be looking for something satisfying to eat, but easy to catch as well. That was a hard decision to make, especially with the prey around here being rather nimble, and much better climbers than him.
Not paying attention to where his paws were being placed, as he had no need too, he let his nose do the searching for any scents that were around. He wanted to find something, and quick. Maybe if he found a flock of seagulls, he could keep one for later in the day, or at least he could keep in mind where the flock was landing. Looking towards the wind which was coming from the west, he caught the scent of seagulls, just his luck. Bringing himself to pick up his pace towards the way he had caught the smell, he stopped as soon as he came to the top of a small slope in the middle of the eastern Rocklands. Seeing that there was flock of twenty or so seagulls, he noticed that there was a large cliff they were perched on. He would need to avoid flying off if he was to jump after a seagull. He analyzed the ground, seeing that there were empty nests lying around. This was their mating grounds, where they would keep their young, and the nests would easily trip him up if he wasn't careful on where he was placing his paws.
Jade pools shifted to the birds themselves, looking over them to see if he could spot any elderly, or very injured birds. There was one that was limping, seemingly missing feathers in some places. That would be his target. Watching as the birds interacted with each other, he noticed that the others were avoiding his target. And if they approached the bird, they would peck at him and try and get him to move away from them. It seemed that the pecking from other birds was more than likely the origin of his target's injuries. It made it easier for him to catch a meal, but it was sad to see that seagulls would pick on each other like they currently were. No different from wolves. He sighed, but kept his focus on the flock ahead of him.
Making towards the area where he would best be able to strike after the bird, he took a deep breath. Letting the air leave him slowly, his eyes locked onto the target and he sprinted forward, alerting the flock to his presence. But it was too late for his target. Pouncing as he was close enough, he snapped his jaws around the neck of the bird, snapping it instantly. Bringing his attention towards the other birds, they were starting to fly off, scattering every which way. Dropping his kill, he started chasing after another that was having trouble getting off the ground. Leaping into the air as it was about to take off, he grabbed onto its leg, pulling down with force. Bashing his head against the ground, the bird was stunned enough for him to snap its neck quickly, not giving it a chance to recover from the shock of being caught. The speckled black male now had two catches, and he was rather proud.
As all the other birds had already scattered, he went and grabbed his other kill, walking off with them towards his cave once more. As he maneuvered back to his home, he felt his stomach almost pulling out of his belly. As he reached the entrance, he dropped off the first bird that was a little healthier inside of his den, while he brought the first seagull he had caught just outside, and started to rip into it. Saving the feathers to replace some old ones in his cave, he bit into the tender flesh and let blood squirt against the ground and across his muzzle. After finishing off the bird, he dug a hole and buried the scraps a little ways away from the cave. It was all bones, but bird bones were not the best to chew on.
Bringing the feathers back to his den, he started picking out the old feathers, and setting down the new ones, keeping himself busy.

Babette traverses the rocky landscape, a slight wince escaping her every time she trod on a stone instead of moss; the pale lupess was well used to the forest, and this territory left her with scraped, sore paw pads. For a brief instant she longs for the soft soil under foot and the crackle of leaves, but then shakes the thought away - woodlands were chock full of other wolves, and she couldn't...she didn't want other wolves, did she? No, she did, but they didn't want her...yes, that was right. She was too strange - yes, strange, not stupid, never stupid - too strange for others. Clouded eyes clearing along with her thoughts, she lightly bites down on her tongue as she realizes she had been loosing a high whine, ears flicking frantically as she tries to ascertain where she was. How far had she walked?
A narrow muzzle whips towards the sky as a sudden cacophony of squawks and wingbeats grate on sensitive auds. What had frightened the birds? Mismatched eyes brighten with sudden hope; perhaps some predator had left scraps behind? Mood shifting from miserable uncertainty to excitement, the bitch breaks into a loping run, wind winding through thick cream-blonde fur. Hunger dulls the pain in her paws, gait surprisingly graceful; one would expect someone with such a sporadic mind to have movements to match. Arriving on the scene, black nose low to the ground, she huffs out a tremulous breath. Of course no badger or fox or owl had made the kill; rather, the scent of wolf mixes with fear-stench and gull blood. A small voice whispers for her to turn around and leave, to resist, resist the urge to follow the trail, to immerse herself in the soothing balm that was companionship. But, if that voice was a whisper, the other was a scream, a scream of loneliness and you haven't spoken to anyone but yourself in a month, and before she knows it she's following the trail with a desperation born of isolation. When she approaches his back is to her, his attention immersed in a den of some sort. "I," she utters, stopping when the syllable comes out as a shaky whisper.
With a hard swallow, she tries again. "I'm new to the area, I was wondering," another pause, gold and cranberry growing unfocused as her thoughts trail. Wondering what? That he'd show her around, ignore her oddities like this was some fairytale where no one is bullied or judged for being different? The silence perseveres until finally, finally, "wondering if you wouldn't mind some company?" Baby sits down heavily to hide the slight shaking in her limbs, a product of anxiety. Even as she offers up a gentle smile, sincere in its hope, she mentally prepares herself for ridicule.

∇ Likotha ∇ "There is no pain, but the one you choose."
He had busied himself so much with the feathers that he had not heard the footsteps of someone else approaching. Looking upwards as he heard the she-wolf speak, his green eyes widened with alarm at first, but then softened as he noticed that she wasn't being threatening at all. Her eyes were a golden and then a cranberry color, giving her features a rather unique look. He looked over her once before he smiled towards her. She stated that she was new to the area, and that if he would mind some company. The male had not had any company in awhile, so his voice was rusty as well. He let out a cough to warm up his vocal chords slightly, so that he would speak clearer than he would have if he hadn't.
"I wouldn't mind some company. No wolves really dwell around here anymore, so finding someone who's willing to stay is always nice," He said, smiling towards the she-wolf. "What brings you around here anyways? If you haven't noticed, the sheer cliffs and drops deter most wolves from staying too long around here. That and the lack of prey," He stated, looking towards her with a curious gaze. If she was to leave because of his questions and his pestering of her, he would leave her be, and let her walk and find someone else to keep company. But he hoped that she wouldn't run away from him, and would answer and deal with his pestering.
"Oh! If you're hungry, I have an extra catch from earlier, if you want it," He said, looking towards her. "Seagull is definitely a different taste from anything else, but its still something," He stated. "Its also almost the only thing that can be found around here besides rats, mice and voles, which aren't very filling," He said, looking downwards at the pile of feathers he had. "Seagulls also double as providing comfortable bedding," He said with a smile. This was the most the male had talked in awhile, but at the prospect of having a friend, he was trying to be as friendly as possibly to keep her there, and to not have her run away from him. But his friendliness could be taken differently. Hopefully however, she would reply with enthusiasm. She seemed like the type of wolf to do so.

Spirit pounced around playfully. She leapt excitedly from rock to rock, her paw pitter-pattering on the rocky surface. It was only then she had realised she had entered the east rockland. Her silver-glazed eyes widened with wonder as she gazed at the whole new terrain. Silently, she took in the large, jagged rocks and bits of mosses everywhere. "Cool!I've never ever been here before, "Spirit whispered to herself. "I'm going to check it out!" Excitedly, Spirit continued leaping around, her tail wagging quickly. She did not care if she hurt her paws, even if they were protesting under the new terrain they had not gotten used to. Spirit was used to trodding on soft moss and cooling snow, but she did not mind trying something new.
After while, Spirit started to grow bored. She slowed to a snail's pace and started kicking pebble-like stones there and here. It was no fun playing alone. She wanted company. She wanted to play with someone. Well, Spirit was not exactly hungry but hunting with another wolf would be fantastic too.Without wasting anytime, Spirit started leaping around the area, searching for another wolf to be with. She was a generally quiet wolf and rather spent her time searching the rockland for other wolves than wasting her voice in howling for attention. She did not want attention anyway. There wasn't anything urgent. Eyes widened and ears pricked, Spirit wandered around everywhere, sniffing. Her spirit was up and her hopes were high, even though she had heard that the rockland was no place for wolves to thrive.
Before she knew it, she picked up the stench of fresh blood and the scent of wolves in the air. How many wolves were there? She could not tell. As she followed the scent to the scene, she halted when she saw the seagull lying dead on the ground. A wolf must had definitely made that kill. Only a fully-grown adult wolf could have done it. Spirit need not look any further. In front of her, stood two wolves. "Umm, hello?" Spirit mumbled timidly, approaching them cautiously. She did not know if they were friendly. What would she say to them? They looked much older than her. "I'm Spirit. Can we be friends? I mean..." Spirit was about to add on to her sentence but she decided to shut her mouth and not say any further.

Eyes widen as friendly words pour from his mouth, tail giving a few wags and smile growing. Fickle heart glowing with platonic affection, she bursts, “You’re very sweet!,” little thought given to the possible implications. What brings you around here anyways? Tapered ears flicking as she considers his question, she murmurs, “Well, er, the forests are very crowded, you see…” Eyes shift to the side with sheepish embarrassment; if he wasn’t going to call out her eccentricities, she certainly wasn’t going to elaborate. “I mean, it’s nice to have friends! But so many wolves in one place can be...overwhelming…” she trails off, nose wrinkling in an almost puppish manner as she recalls the woodlands. With a tiny frown, she tosses a somewhat wary glance his way. He doesn’t seem like he pities me...no, no, he’s a good one, I think.Oh! If you’re hungry, I have an extra catch from earlier, if you want it. “That would be lovely! I haven’t had seagull before.” With the air of someone being very careful, she steps gingerly inside of his den to fetch the bird, careful not to disturb his bedding as she exits. “Bedding, huh…” She mutters quietly to herself, gaze growing unfocused as she plops down with the prey. She can remember when she was young, her parents had always lined their den with the feathers of pheasants or quails. The seagull felt almost...oily, in comparison, but soft nonetheless. After quite the pause, she jolts, quickly assuring, “I’ll save the feathers, so that you can use them,” voice rushed as if to make up for her awkward silence. Pulling some of the plumage away, she bites into the flesh, blinking a bit. “It’s salty, how...strange.” Not bad, though. Grasping some more of the feathers between her teeth, she turns in surprise as a new voice reaches her ears. Babette must have been quite the sight, mouth full of feathers and face full of shock. Face hot with embarrassment, she adds them to her pile and says, “Hello! I’m Babette, and this is…” She pauses, and giggles, narrow cranium swinging towards the dark male. “We never did introduce ourselves.”

"Umm... hello," Spirit repeated, still quite shyly but a little clearer this time so that they could hear her. Spirit listened closely to their conversation. With that, she could tell that the two new wolves that she met were friendly. Well, at least they didn't seem mean. She would love to befriend them. Like other young teenagers, Spirit had that playful, childish nature. Positively glowing with excitement, Spirit pounced about energetically.
"That's a nice kill over there, by the way" Spirit nodded at the dead gull. "Who did that? It was a really great hunt!" Spirit shifted her feet on the rocky surface below her. She paced around briefly, wagging her tail with much enthusiasm. Spirit watched silently as the other she-wolf sank her teeth into the sea gull. It's salty, how ... strange "Really?" Spirit asked curiously, ignoring the fact that she did not quite know the two other wolves well.
Often, Spirit would keep her thoughts to herself. She was not the type of wolf that would really speak up. However, maybe just for this time, she decided to open up. She had never tasted gull meat before, let alone hunt one down. One could not imagine how pumped up she was to see a sea gull being hunted down for the first time. "I can never hunt down a gull like that. That's a really great hunting skill you have, you know?" Spirit added with a smile. "I'm not a good hunter. I've just started learning how to hunt a few months ago."
We never did introduce ourselves "Yeah, what are your names?" Spirit asked, a warm smile spreading across her snout. And just in case the other wolves could not decipher her initial gibberish mumbling, Spirit added"I'm Spirit." @likotha @babette

∇ Likotha ∇"There is no pain, but the one you choose." Likotha was pleased to say the lease that the female didn't immediately run off at his enthusiasm for conversation. She called him sweet, which was something new for him. He'd never been called that except by his mother, who was a given considering her position in his life. But the sensation that passed through him was gone as soon as she started talking again, relying to his comment about what she was doing up here. She seemed to be the same as him, wanting company, but not wanting to be surrounded by an overwhelming amount of wolves. His past in packs had brought rather fond memories to him, but he didn't think that he would ever move back into a pack, given that he was so used to be around one, or maybe two wolves. A whole pack, which mostly consisted of seven or more wolves, was too much anymore for Likotha.
"I would have to agree with that," He said, with a light tone to his voice. As he listened to her talk about not having gull before, and then consuming it, it seemed that another wolf was about, having approached them. She complimented him upon his hunt, and it seemed that she was either stalking them, or simply watching them before to know that it was a great hunt. And as she stated how she wasn't a good hunter, Likotha couldn't help but feel that maybe she was looking for a freebie as the other she-wolf had gotten. He only had that one seagull, so if she was thinking she could play a pitiful she-wolf who couldn't hunt, and get away with some food, she was mistaken. The she-wolf introduced herself as Spirit, and Likotha looked to Babette, finally learning her name. As Babette referred to him, he knew that he had completely skipped introductions, and thus he would need to introduce himself to the both of them. Clearing his throat, he shook his head slightly.
"My name is Likotha," He stated, looking towards the two of them. "Sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner," He replied to Babette's inquiry about never having introduced themselves. "If you're looking for a place to stay, I sadly only have room for one here," He gestured toward his den where Lethia and himself had made a home before she vanished on him. "I would offer it to you first, Babette, since you were of course the first to approach," He state, trying to be fair to the both of them. He wasn't sure exactly how this Spirit she-wolf was, but he needed to be cautious. Even around Babette, but he got a feeling that she was not here to harm or steal from him.

Spirit was sitting on her haunches, her ears pricked up and her tail wagging excitedly. She listened in closely as the he-wolf introduced himself as Likotha. "Oh boy, a new friend," Spirit thought, smiling. Before she could say anything, Likotha spoke first.
"If you're looking for a place to stay, I sadly only have room for one here." Disappointed, Spirit watched as Likotha gestured toward the den Spirit had not noticed before. It definitely must be Likotha's. To Spirit, the den seemed to be only built for two, unless Likotha would so willingly expand it. "I would offer it to you first, Babette, since you were of course the first to approach." Spirit took it as Likotha's way of saying that Spirit was not welcomed here. "Just when I thought we could all be friends," Spirit thought bitterly. "Fair enough,"the young teenage wolf spoke, not harshly, not sarcastically, but simply expressionlessly, "I shall get going then." With that, Spirit spun around and slowly headed back where she came from, her tail between her legs. Momentarily, she stopped and shot one last glance at the two new wolves she met. "Such a pity, we didn't even know each other well yet," spirit thought. With that, she took off, dashing as far away as possible from Likotha and Babette.
After awhile, Spirit stopped. She knew she had sped quite a distance away from the duo. She hopped onto a rock, and sat on her haunches again, observing her surroundings. Well, she was still in the rockland east, with its rocky terrain stretching for what seemed like millions of miles. Likotha and Babette was not that long ago. Spirit began pondering about what just happened. She was surprised to find that the tone she used to speak to Likotha was calm, although Spirit knew that throwing a temper was usually not her way. She expected to find herself upset, and maybe even a little mad, for being 'turned down' by them. Yet, she felt something else instead. Something was like a parasite, chewing away her tiny, fragile heart. Jealousy. Oh, how it gnawed her heart. Spirit was envious that Likotha gave Babette the choice to stay. However, it was pointless to unleash that green monster from inside her. Besides, now that Spirit had thought it over, it was neither anyone's fault. Babette had done nothing wrong at all. Likotha, probably, did not trust Spirit because they just met. Moreover, he was being fair anyway, Babette came first. "Grow up kiddo, you're not a pup anymore," Spirit whispered to herself. "The whole world is not just about butterflies and rainbows. Welcome to reality, girl. You can't expect everyone to become your friend upon the very first meeting."
Sighing, Spirit strolled away, a little dejected. As she left the newfound area, she shot one last glance. "I'll be back soon, someday," she smiled.

In that apparently lifeless rocky area, a white figure could be seen moving at the distance. It was a lonely soul that was wandering through this solitary lands, but maybe some wolves would find it sad to be alone but in this wolf´s case, it wasn't bad at all. This is because Kaira preferred being by herself as she tried her best to stay away from other wolves so she would avoid a similar situation than the one she suffered months ago. And a conflict was the last thing the teenager wolf wanted as this time she didn't has Nate by her side, and without him this time her fate could be different from back then. As she kept walking trying to step carefully through that rocky place where any wrong move could be painful or worst. As the female walked further into the area she spotted a small pound of water a few meters from her position. She was kinda thirsty after traveling during the whole morning. But as always she walked with caution and always looking around to see if she was the only being there. So after making sure, trots toward the water source as maintains an eye to the ground so she won't strip on a rock. After some minutes she finally reaches the pound grad. Now there slowly approaches to the water and starts drinking from the essential liquid she was desperate to consume.
After some instants, her thirst went satisfied. Now with that done, she still needed to find something to eat. But she wasn't that hungry so she could do that later, so lays down and looks around to take a better look at the place, contemplating each thing. Looks at the sky, she wondered how is Nate, she deeply missed him as he actually saved her from death.

The charcoal-coloured fur she-wolf entered the rocky terrain. Trodding along, she was careful not to step on any rough, jagged-edged stones. The area was tremendously silent, except for the barely audible noises made by movements of preys. However, Mira's stomach was full, and she did not feel like hunting and indulging into more food. This was a place most wolves would wisely avoid, as the tricky terrain was rather uncomfortable to walk on, and preys were scarce here. Silence. Silence. And more silence again. It was deafening, to the young adult, for she was a really gregarious one. She very much preferred the noisy chatters to the plain, old, boring silence. She had been warned about this quiet place by her brothers in the past. They had explored this area out a year ago, being the adventurous teenagers they were. Then, Mira's thoughts wandered to her brothers. She sighed. She had no idea whether they had survived the tragedy they all went through. For all she knew, they might be breathing, alive, yet never to be seen by Mira again.
Anger rose up in the she-wolf. She could not help but hate her older siblings a little. They had disappeared, and left, Mira, alone, all by herself. Hadn't what happened to our parents been enough? Mira only had her brothers left. Yet, they had left her side too. Now, she was all alone. Mira blamed them, although she knew that it was neither of their fault. Before she could unleash the unnecessary wrathful monster inside her, Mira stopped herself. No point getting so worked up about the past. Time to move on. The rage that was swelling in Mira slowly subsided as she took deep breathes to calm herself. It was only then she realised that in her momentary anger, she had stopped walking. Picking up the pace once again, Mira continued venturing into the Rockland. This was her very first time here, and she did not want her wrath to ruin her mini exploration.
As she continued with her journey, she took in the patches of green mosses dotting the rocky landscape and the hazy mountains in the distance. Not the best place to find yourself in, Mira thought. Before she wandered any further, however, another wolf came into her sight. She stood all alone, only accompanied by a pound of water. Daringly, Mira approached her, suddenly realising that she, herself, wanted company. The silence was too unbearable. She wanted someone to talk to. At a closer distance, Mira could tell the wolf was a female teenager by looks and scent. "Hey there," Mira spoke quietly, with a gentle and friendly smile. "Nice to meet you. My name's Mira."

Kaira was deeply submerged into a sea of memories and thoughts, some related to Nate, as others were with her family and even some on the problem she was in during the attack that marked not only her body but also how she now interacts with others. All of this reflections kept her out of the reality causing her to don't notice the other wolf´s approach. Some wind came into her body like a blanket, this made her to finally return from the world of her own mind. Now back, her nose caught the scent of another wolf, this made her blood to get cold and fear quickly took place. Slowly turns around until she could spot a she-wolf with a dark pelted body. Slowly stands up and puts her white and fluffy tail between her legs as fear was getting stronger at any second. "I am sorry, I didn't know someone was already here." Lowerers her head as tries to look harmless believing this could save her from a potential attack. As of now, the cream female didn't know what to do next. Escaping was one of her ideas but she wasn't sure if she could succeed at that. But then she heard how the other wolf introduced herself. Socializing was something Kaira wasn't used to. "My name...Is Kaira..." She said with her voice cracking in fear. Her heart pounced quickly and with any sign of calming down, every time she had an interaction was a nightmare for her, the idea of getting attacked again was always present and made socializing hard. Some tears started to come out of her golden eyes. She was scared of suffering the same fate, and this time Nate won't help her.

Mira was ready to accept that the other she-wolf would be shocked by her sudden appearance. That was the usual reaction upon meeting a new wolf. However, instead, the teenager seemed unusually tense, tail between her legs. "I am sorry, I didn't know someone was already here." Mira was stunned by her response. This was new. Entirely befuddled, she watched as the pearl figure lowered her head. Maybe, she was shy, Mira thought to herself, but even so, she wouldn't respond with a "I didn't know someone was already here."The teenager was uncomfortable and fearful. She did not welcome Mira's company. Is she afraid of something? A thought flashed through Mira's mind and realisation hit her. Wait, is she afraid of...of me? Mira could not help but recoil in horror. No,no,no, she can't be afraid of me. What's so scary about me anyway? However, the truth was staring in her face. Perplexed, Mira tried to make herself look less frightening, but she did not know how to do so.
After Mira gazed at the teen in silence for awhile, the teen finally introduced herself: "My name...Is Kaira..." Mira could hear that her voice was cracking. She was definitely fearful. She was afraid of Mira. Having confirmed the theory, Mira was about to say something to calm the unnerved Kaira-fella down when the teen's eyes glistened. Mira was shocked to see tears appearing in the pair of golden eyes before her. Is Kaira...Kaira crying? Utterly at a loss of words, Mira stood still, tensed up not from fear but from shock, pure shock. Finally, after a moment, Mira recomposed herself and whispered kindly, "Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. Don't be afraid of me."

I would offer it to you first, Babette, since you were of course the first to approach. Likotha’s altogether innocent words spiral Babette into a pit of abrupt self-doubt and suspicion, mind backtracking to the last time someone had shared their den with her. She is so distracted by her own mind that she barely registers Spirit's departure; something she would surely feel guilty about later. Clenching her jaw and swallowing the bitter ball of emotion building in her throat, she warbles out, “But surely I don’t deserve...I mean, why?” She was more than a pity project, and the insecurity in her heart demands that she ascertain his kindness. “Not to say I don’t appreciate the offer, I really do, but I… I’d hate to be a burden.”
There is a heavy silence for a moment, at least on her part, as she debates whether or not to divulge anything personal to the shadowed brute. Eventually nurture wins over nature; Baby was always meant to be an open, sharing kind of wolf. It was circumstance that tried to shove her trusting nature down. “I talk...strangely, as you can probably see by now. A...a while ago, there was this wolf, and I,” another pause, though this one is of her own will. “I didn’t see it for a long time, but he thought something was…wrong. Mentally, I mean. With me. He offered me companionship and a den and,” I loved him, she doesn’t say, unsaid words needle-sharp in her throat. Not anymore. “I found out it was out of pity, basically. Not...not that I doubt you! I mean, I do, but...you’re so nice, and so many people aren’t, and I’m so sick of being a pity project!”[/font] The words burst from her lungs as though they had been waiting to be said for months. Maybe they had been.
Glancing up at Likotha, her ears flatten as the ashen lupess prays she hadn’t ruined a tentative friendship with something as silly as her insecurities. Lips parting once more, she utters weakly, “Just...please don’t treat me different. Than...than anyone else, I mean.” Please don't be offended.

∇ Likotha ∇ "There is no pain, but the one you choose."
It seemed that he had offended and made Spirit rather upset, as she departed in a rather quick manner. He felt as if maybe he should have offered for her to stick around, but ultimately, he had only a den that would fit two comfortably. And he wasn't sure if he merely trusted a she-wolf that had approached only talking about how good his hunt looked. He wasn't one to harbor scavengers. As with them came a great deal of behavior that he himself did not prefer. They would steal food from you, use you to get what they wanted, and quite possibly brought trouble with their company. If a scavenger spent enough time stealing from wolves, there were going to be some that would take the time to follow the scavenger, and possibly kill them and any other wolf that was with them. Turning to Babette, he was a little surprised to see that she was still standing there with him, especially with how he dismissed Spirit.
As she seemed to be distraught, he wondered if he had somehow upset her. He didn't want too, especially since she was the first wolf around that he could grow a companionship with. As she asked him why, he felt a little confused. Was it just something that was not often offered from one wolf to another? Likotha had always grown up with manners being pounded into his head consistently enough to make the male much more decent than other wolves. He was not a rogue wolf by any means, and often times forgot that the harsh lives of rogues was something he still hadn't grasped. His previous pack and family still had him trained, even if he hated to admit it. Likotha was much too dumbfounded to say anything, trying to come up with a reason other than 'I would just appreciate the company and I am a decent wolf'. As he had spent too much time thinking of a response, she delved into why she had asked him.
She talked of a wolf whom had assumed she was mentally unstable and thus offered a place out of pity. Likotha was taken aback by this. She said she spoke strangely, but he didn't see anything wrong with it, nor had he really noticed. He found the very short conversation he held with her to be rather enjoyable, which is why he had offered her a place to stay in the first place. She was all around pleasant to be around, and hearing she was only taken pity upon before made the male irrationally upset. Calming himself, he looked towards her as she asked him to not treat her any different and he gave a small smile. "I hadn't noticed that you spoke strangely," He said, looking towards her. "And honestly, wolves like that are the reason I try my best to move forward and treat everyone equally. I've had my share of pity after all. It isn't the best feeling," He spoke with a lower tone at the last sentence.
He wouldn't put it up in the air as it was overall a heavier topic to bring up, but the death that swiftly took his loved ones away from him still haunted the male every night. He knew that there was no taking it back, but it still felt fresh every morning. And when spending the night in a den with another, there was little space for him to be tossing and turning without the other noticing. He knew how it was to have someone pity you, and he would never treat someone that way, especially off of assumptions instead of facts.
