Shale nodded, hearing Achak’s explanation. “I thought you might feel that way,” he said. “Given your history and all, I thought you might lean toward being a sentinel or guardian or something like that.” He smiled. “And for the record, in spite of what happened I think you’d be good at it.”
He drew a long sigh, thinking back over his relatively short life to all the things he’d heard about the wolves in this area. “I know the packs,” he said slowly. “But I’m not sure how close we are to them. Of course there’s the four main packs. Lubrusca, Noctis, and Ferus- I’ve heard Ferus is a little tough, though- and the other one, I can’t remember the name, but I heard something about their falling on hard times recently, so they may not be open to the idea of newcomers until things settle down.”
His memory didn’t serve him well when it came to the four main packs; information about them had been scarce in his own short lived pack. He remembered plenty of stories about two other packs in particular, though- they were the reason he’d been so terrified of being on his own before Achak came along.
“There’s two other packs,” he said slowly. “Ones we should probably most likely definitely avoid.” I’m piling up words again. Just talking about these two makes me nervous. “Mortiul and Ignasia. They’re partners, of sorts. I don’t know much about them. I don’t think anyone really does. But I’ve heard stories, and they aren’t good ones. Some of the rumors are straight out of nightmares. The only wolves who join those packs are psychopaths, sadists or just plain crazy. Or wolves who are forced into it, in which case they probably won’t last long anyway. But in any case, if you don’t mind I’d like to stay as far away from them as possible. I enjoy doing certain things...like living.”
He gave a nervous laugh. “I’ve heard something about a newer pack starting up, though. Used to be rogues like us, until they found enough members to be counted as a legitimate pack. Claimed territory, sorted out ranks, everything. Since they’re so new, they might be a good fit for the pair of us. The pack’s called Sorelus.”
He tilted his head. “Nothing’s set in stone, though. And honestly I’d be fine with any pack. Except Mortiul and Ignasia, of course; I’m pretty sure they’d break me in half as soon as look at me. I mean, unless you’re into that sort of lifestyle, which you don’t seem to be.” He smiled, letting Achak know he was joking. “But anything else is all right with me. So what do you think?”

ROGUE KNOX
Knox and Kebechet had been chilling and just sky gazing for a while now. He wasn't as cold as if he was on his own, which thankfully with Kebechet pressed up against him he was sufficiently cozy. He hoped she felt the same way, he didn't wish her to just be lying her cold while they looked at clouds. When the air picked up and brought a chill, he grew a little more uncomfortable. Rolling to his feet he looked at her to see if she was ready to move on. Her own response was a playful nip and a question about what's next.
Shrugging, Knox looked around. "Not really sure, I'm not really hungry but lets explore some more," he quipped before walking away. New scents carried on the wind brought possibilities to his mind. They weren't too far away from the rest of the group, so if need be the could howl for help. But the idea of meeting new wolves brought with him a since of joy.
"Lets go make more friends," he joyfully said, hoping away a few feet with a playful wag of his tail. "What do you think?" Kebechet's own playful wag in response was all he needed before bounding, once again, away. He followed to particular scents he had caught earlier. They were faint at the cave but now they were a little stronger.
Coming upon two wolves, who seemed to be very friendly with each other he let out a bark to show his presence until he was close enough to speak without shouting. "Hello! I'm Knox, and this is Kebechet, we belong to a rogue group in the area and were out exploring, thought we could stumble by and say hi, welcome you to the neighborhood and all," he joked with a large smile and wag of his tail. They seemed friendly enough so he relaxed into a sitting position, looking to 'Chet to see what she would do.

His voice carried through the caves as he traveled, pawsteps heard to be growing closer. She couldn’t help herself as she giggled, knowing that he already knew where she was, but it was still fun to make him look instead of just outright giving herself up to him. She listened to his words, chocolate eyes fixing on the crevices entrance, seeing the shadow being cast over the entrance, and she knew that he found her. She waited, and soon enough he was pouncing into her crevice, causing a fit of giggles to come from her as she looked to the face of her closest companion. Bringing her small body forward, she accidentally touched her nose to his in an effort to escape, feeling embarrassment rush through her, but she wouldn’t let it be seen by him. Instead, she brushed past him, rushing down the cave tunnel more as she attempted to get away from him long enough to find a different hiding spot. Technically he had found her, but had not caught her. Until he had her pinned, she was still the one hiding and running. Making turns and twists through the cave, she came to a large cavern, illuminated above by what seemed to be a glowing roof.
The glowing substance fell to the ground, and she made sure to avoid it, not knowing what the foreign substance was. Taking her tail tip and brushing the fur along the cavern floor, she tested to see if it would hurt her, but it didn’t. Instead, she swept her tail away, flicking the glowing substance off as she trotted to the edge of the cave, where she would trot over towards the ledge lying on the outskirts of the cavern where the glowing substance did not fall. She looked over towards the entrance to the cave, she wondered if Astro would come barreling into the area without really looking, and run straight into the glowing substance. She giggled at the thought, and waited patiently in the shadows. They were alone in this cave, only the two of them navigating these tunnels, and their noses touching. Bringing herself back to that moment, she felt heat rush to her cheeks at the thought, the fur burning hot as she tried to push aside her feelings. Maybe it was because it was embarrassing that she hadn’t recognized how far away he was? She wasn’t sure what it was, but it definitely cause butterflies to flutter within her stomach, twisting and turning it upside down at the thought of their noses touching.

Giddy, delighted giggles erupted from Astoria’s cramped hiding place, echoing within ebony tunnels. Astro grinned, already wriggling amber haunches in preparation for the final pounce when a slim auburn face sprang from the hole, lightly pressing a pitch-dark nose against his own before springing away. For a moment, he reeled back, startled — just the opportunity the mischievous she-devil needed to make her grand escape, darting into dimly-lit chambers. Off and away she went, slipping in and out of every odd bypass and constrained, slender crevice with relative ease. The perks of being smaller than the majority were few and far in between, but as he found himself chasing after her, sliding through shadowed tunnels with dexterity, he figured that flexibility was definitely one such perk. Next time, he would have to remember to pin her down, and pin her promptly, lest she wriggle her way out of that hold as well. She was sharp-witted, to be certain, but he was tenacious, and would keep on trying until he’d finally caught her, even it took him till next winter. Finally, she darted ahead, diving into what appeared to be her final escape route. The chestnut male charged forwards, ready to spring. Oh, he had her now! Suddenly, this sorrel paws scrabbled backwards in a frantic attempt to avoid collision, but to unfortunately no avail. Cascading from the faded cave ceiling came a softly glowing substance, the likes of which he’d never seen before — but now, in his rather hapless pursuit, he’d barreled right in a puddle, smearing the substance all over his paws, legs, and parts of his tail. He circled around curiously, attempting to balance on three paws as he lifted one to sniff. Thankfully, before he bobbed over, he looked up in time to spot Astoria, basking relatively untouched in the corner. He couldn’t place her expression well, but something in the twitch of her mouth seemed pleased, slightly nefarious, just the sort of face that begged an unconventional adventure. “You think this is funny, don’t you?” He chuckled, giving his gleaming tail and paws a twirl. “Well,” he quipped slyly, gently sinking into a prowl as he skulked over. “Take that!” He pounced, softly pushing her into a nearby puddle as he pinned her in victory. “Finally got you~” Astro teased, well pleased with himself. As she rose, he regarded her warmly, reverently watching as her pelt shone. “Isn’t that pretty?” He asked, leaning forwards to look at the gleam on her face. “You look like star light.” Tagged: Astoria <33

She didn’t have to wait long for Astro to appear in the cavern that she was currently in, a loud giggle escaping her maw as she watched him plow into the glowing substance. Seeing as he was checking out what it was, she had rolled over in a fit of laughter, listening to what he said, she flicked her tail, and amused expression coming over her face. “Maybe I do,” She giggled, looking towards him to see that he was now much closer than she had expected. The little time she had, she was trying to scramble to her paws, but he was much quicker, pinning her to the ground before she had been able to agily escape him. She felt the weird substance coating her back, and all along her fur, the stuff splashing and getting onto Astro some more, and dripping from him onto her. They were covered almost head to tail in it, and she looked up towards him, chocolate eyes admiring the male for a second. She wasn’t trying to get away, too content with her current position. Belly up, looking into his eyes as he stared down at her, the air thick between them with something. Something that she couldn’t quite place her paw on.
After triumphantly pinning her down, Astro moved away, letting her rise from where she was laying. Doing so, she didn’t shake out her pelt quite yet, simply pausing at the words that came from his mouth. “You look like star light.” The words themselves sent a rapid flash of heat to her cheeks, and if there were no fur, he would see her face glowing like a tomato. Her chocolate eyes looked towards the wolfdog as he was covered much like she was. “T-Thanks,” You stammered out as she looked towards him, slightly embarrassed, they weren’t too far away from each other, so he could potentially see that her paws were shuffling about, nervousness taking over her once confident self. "It kind of reminds me of the way your eyes glow when you're happy... And how cute you look," She muttered, although he would potentially hear her. She immediately averted her gaze to the ground, an idea suddenly popped into her head as she smiled deviously, taking her paw and swiping it, she aimed for his face with the glowing goo. She took off running, racing through the unknown substance as she made sure to kick up the liquid behind her, aiming for him to chase her, and get a faceful once more of the stuff. The nervousness that she once radiated now gone as she once more took her mind away from her ever growing feelings for the male she was with.

Shale waited for Achak to think over all the new information. Talking about the packs had brought all the frightening stories he had been told back to the forefront of his mind, and he glanced subconsciously around him, half expecting something terrifying to leap from the bushes.
Instead, a loud bark from behind him shattered the stillness. Shale jumped, whirling around and frantically scanning the landscape for the source of the sound.
It didn’t take long for him to spot the dark-coated wolf loping towards the pair of them, a smaller, lighter-colored female following close behind. They didn’t seem threatening- actually, they both seemed quite friendly- but unknown wolves, however friendly they might be, were one of the many things Shale was wary of. He crouched lower to the ground, tucking his tail nervously underneath his body as the two strangers came close enough to speak without raising their voices.
“Hello!” the dark-colored male said. “I’m Knox, and this is Kebechet. We belong to a rogue group in the area and were out exploring. Thought we could stumble by and say hi, welcome you to the neighborhood and all.” He smiled, wagging his tail as he sat down, and Shale let himself relax just a little. He ran his tongue over his lips, trying to slow down his racing heartbeat.
“Er...hello,” he said cautiously, knowing his voice was shaking just a little. “I, um...I’m Shale, and this is Achak. It’s nice to meet you both.” His voice rose on the last word, making it seem more like a question than a statement. He cringed. Oh, no, that’s not awkward at all.
“You’re out exploring?” he continued hastily. “I, um, I didn’t know there were any other rogues in the area. Guess I just haven’t been paying attention.”

Achak nodded softly carefully listening to Shale's words, it was nice to know someone who knew a lot about the packs in the area. "Well I'm not sure but I agree with staying away from the more aggressive packs, its a good idea since we're pretty new to the area, or at least I am." His ears twitched slightly soft paw steps attracting his attention, then a soft bark. He tensed softly turning quickly to stare at the other two wolves. Shale seemed to relax as they spoke, but Achak refused to let his guard down. He watched carefully as the other wolves talked his heart pounding softly. They don't look dangerous. He thought softly trying to calm himself, he sat letting Shale speak, he sat closer to him trying to comfort him since he still seemed nervous. "How many of you are there?" He asked curiously.

Nooné sighed, relaxed by the blind male's smile. The fact something like that slipped up was embarassing, but one tended to forget when it came to Tenzin, he made being disabled look easy, moving smoothly and efficiently. "I'd love to go on another little rabbit chase," said Aenemys, shuffling her feet as she walked forwards, the Iberian following close behind.
"I'm very thankful. If there is anything you need that I can do, let me know so I may repay the both of you. I insist. I have to find some way to give back to all of you," spoke Tenzin, with pinch of sadness on his voice, of unfullfillment. "Not like you owe us anything, Ten. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have known about the storm," said the male, looking at his disabled friend. "You really saved our butts back there!"
Didn't take the trio much walking, as after just a few minutes they were already facing the rabbit group. It seemed like the loss of one of their members didn't impact much of their daily food collect. "Ladies first?," asked Nooné towards Nemys, playfully.

After following Knox over to the two strangers, she cannot help but admire the welcoming aura he exuded, inviting these wolves to befriend them with only a few kind wolves. Now Kebechet herself was certainly no social slouch, but her temperament had always run a bit hotter - and she wasn’t quite so good with words. At first, she felt rather awkward as one of the two immediately tucked tail, but luckily he seemed to relax upon realizing they weren’t there to threaten the duo. Shale and Achak, huh? The rust colored fae offers an encouraging smiles as Shale stutters through his introductions, heart going out to the other wolf. Hopefully by the end of their interaction he’d be completely at ease. Listening to what they both had to say, she plops her rump down in the grass, tail beating a steady rhythm against the earth. ”Yep, exploring! And to be honest, I’m not too sure how many of us there are.” Kebechet laughs a little sheepishly, one ear tilting downward as she casts her mind to the numerous members of their group. ”Don’t worry though, they’re all a good sort.” The tiny she-wolf reassures. ”How long have you two known each other?”

Astoria, who always bore a sharp wit and tongue to match, appeared oddly flustered. He cocked his head curiously, wondering if he’d accidently hurt her in the fall. “T-Thanks,” She stammered softly as she gently shuffled her paws. "It kind of reminds me of the way your eyes glow when you're happy.” Her voice had dropped to a hushed whisper. Crimson ears crooned forwards, attempting to pick up the next sentence. “And how cute you look," she rasped next. That couldn’t be right! He strained his ears forwards once more, attempting to play out the alternative possibilities. Suddenly, a sorrel paw swiped at his face, splattering the whole of his maw with sparkles. He shook his pelt out, choking on a drop that had landed in his open mouth as he’d attempted to swipe his eyes. Why, that little deviant! Taking advantage of him like that! “Hey!” He barked, wriggling his haunches mischievously. “Get back here you-” He swiftly hoisted himself onto his paws, darting right on her ochre heels— only to wind up with a face full of glow. He stumbled, hacking again, clearly having not learned his lesson from the first time. Oh, he’d get her good for that! “Come back here!” He growled playfully. “I oughtta—” God, she was fast. Although he considered himself swift, the small hybrid sprightly danced around him, taunting, forever tantalizingly out of reach. After a few winding loops, he found himself tiring — so, in a last ditch attempt, the audacious hybrid allowed himself to stumble, faking a limp on three legs. “Owwww,” He whined pitifully, waiting until she bought the bait and took another step towards him to spring and plop her into another puddle. “See?” He teased, happily smearing a bit of the substance into her fluff with his nose. “I can play tricks too! Although maybe not quite so well as you,” He added for further clarification as he bopped her bedazzled muzzle. “I’ve got you now!” Astro laughed, his gaze softening as he looked down on her. Astoria was such marvelous fun! He couldn’t have asked for a lovelier traveling companion. “Think I’ll ever be letting you go? Nah, not a chance,” he quipped slyly as he resisted any attempts to kick him off of her. “Great adventurers are tough to find nowadays! Think I’m letting the best I’ve ever seen get away that easily?” A soft, playful smile gripped his features. “Nope; Still got too many to things to see and do.” Tagged: Astoria

From where Spirit stood under the tree, Spirit spotted a group of four wolves just nearby; two of which she recognised as Knox and Kebechet. However, she had never seen the other two before, and their scents were entirely unfamiliar to her. One was covered in cream, the other covered in charcoal. Both of them seemed friendly. The yearling quickly made up her mind to make her way over and meet the two strangers. Leaving Kaira to her sleep, Spirit padded towards them. With a soft smile and a little nod of her head, she acknowledged her two friends, and the two new faces in front of her. "Yep, exploring! And to be honest, I’m not too sure how many of us there are.” Kebechet admitted with a soft chuckle. "Eight of us, Chet," Spirit piped up, giggling a little at the auburn she-wolf's guilt. Eleven actually, but some of them left throughout our stay. ”Don’t worry though, they’re all a good sort. How long have you two known each other?” @kebechet @knox @achak Shale

Shikoba dropped the squirrel by her paws, and Mirai blinked, momentarily startled by this uncharacteristic kindness. She wasn't by any means exceedingly hungry now, but... The marble-pelted she-wolf nodded at the smaller female. Her neck descended in a languid stretch, her forelegs bending just enough at an angle, and then what stringy remains of the squirrel was disappearing down her throat in a brief flash of white fangs. It wasn't common to stumble upon such a generous rogue, and Miami absently wondered how long it would last. Her tongue swept over her lips, her posture snapping back into position. "A pack is a risky venture," Mirai remarked at Shikoba's words. Mirai herself had never given that subject much thought. It was always assumed that she could hold her own, fending for herself in this foreign land, nosing through uncharted territory, perhaps one day even staking her own claim. A pack seemed unfathomable — a distant, hazy dream that wasn't her own. It was why she regarded her new companion with more than a faint curiosity lingering within her eyes. Shikoba seemed a wary, resilient female, so why was she so interested in banding together with other wolves, devoting her attentions and loyalty to one single being? The Gods were fair. Upon wolves who couldn't take care of themselves, they huddled together with their brethren and trusted in their renewed strength of numbers. Lone rangers like Shikoba were the exact sort Mirai would have expected to show disinterest or complete distaste for aligning themselves with a faction. It seemed there was still much Mirai had yet to see or hear. Her ears swivelled atop her skull as she cast a glance at the two males who had so readily approached them. Sonder. This was what this feeling was called. The realisation that others around her harboured their own beliefs, thoughts, and eventful lives. Like the many facets of a diamond, they were all creatures with wills and liberties, some she was currently unable to truly comprehend, others she had only seen too often. Mirai sighed, a small sound that emanated as a puff of white. "I suggest we begin now, if we were to accomplish anything before sundown," she said, directing her words at Shikoba. It was still unclear about the intentions of those males, but Mirai wasn't going to stick around to find out. Not with a new mission in mind. tagged: @shikoba @hux Kylo

The Yukon's paws carried him through the snow with relevant speed, the snow hindered him slightly but didn't it hinder everyone? Though he did expect a lighter wolf would have an easier time than he, his weight did nothing but sink him further. The females he and Hux approached seemed to be talking about joining packs and swapping friendly introductions, tremendously formal and polite for Rogue speak, or at least compared to the other rogues he had met. Still,it felt shameful, just he and Hux out in the wilderness, looking to belong to something, striving to do more than hunt, eat, sleep and die. They'd gotten a taste of purpose and now Kylo could not shake it, he craved it more than anything. Red and white iris' saw the squirrel by the smaller female's paws, then he heard the mention of a pack, ever approaching, then the male stopped a few feet away from them. He understood his size and overall nature as a male was threatening, hence why he gave them space. For now he only wished to exchange words due to his companions uncharacteristic silence, he wished he'd behave this way more often, it was pleasant even for Hux. "I couldn't help but overhear your mentionings of a pack." he explained before continuing. "My companion and I are looking for one as well, do you know which direction we might find one?" His eyes lingered on the Rogue female with a pelt dark like his own, though much less scarred than his own, a certain aura of kindness radiating from her while her companion seemed just as sweet, he still regarded them with caution. @hux @shikoba @mirai

Shale listened as the female, or Kebechet as the male had introduced her, answered Achak’s question. “To be honest, I’m not sure how many of us there are.” “Eight of us, Chet,” another voice broke in, and Shale glanced around in confusion for a minute before finally locating the speaker, a pretty white female. How did I not pick up on the fact that there were so many others close by? “Don’t worry though, they’re all a good sort,” the newcomer continued. “How long have you two known each other?” “Not long,” Shale replied, finally managing to get his stammering under control. “Just a few days. We ran into each other, and just...well, it’s safer to travel together than alone.” An idea had started to take root in his mind, and once it had sprouted it refused to let him go. He’d heard about rogue groups like the one these three seemed to belong to, bands of lone wolves that functioned almost like packs. But joining a rogue group would almost certainly be simpler than joining a pack. No alphas to impress, no real heirarchy to keep track of...maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea if he and Achak joined these rogues, at least until they felt the time was right to join an official pack. “Um...about this group you’re a part of,” he began uncertainly, addressing his question to all three of the other wolves. “Do you think...possibly...is there a chance there could be...” He trailed off, unsure how to phrase his question. He certainly didn’t want to seem pushy, but at the same time a little bit of confidence might go a long way. Spit it out, you idiot, he scolded himself. Could this get any more awkward? “Would there be room for two more?” he finished in a rush, glancing back at Achak to see if perhaps his friend had had the same idea. @achak @knox @kebechet Spirit

Shikoba forced her mismatched eyes away from the approaching males as Mirai spoke, "A pack is a risky venture. I suggest we begin now, if we were to accomplish anything before sundown." Shikoba considered her words for a second and then answered bluntly, “No, I accept all into my travelling parties, I shall wait and see what they have to say as well.” And with that her mismatched eyes once more returned to Hux and Kylo, her tone had not been anything but completely neutral, she showed no inherent emotions for anyone as of yet, she just stood still, like a statue, unwavering in the cold snow. She had not sounded annoyed, or angry, or even remotely perturbed at Mirai trying to get her to leave the males, Shikoba just sat quietly in the mud and snow, watching with soft, unwavering eyes as the males approached. Then the larger of the two males was standing within a few feet of her, Shikoba hadn’t moved yet, she had no need, as always she was confident in herself and her abilities, she had been wandering for alone for close to four years now, she was no stranger to danger, she had her own scars and plenty of her own stories, about living the life of a rogue. Shikoba’s eyes traveled the length of the larger black male, taking in everything, he was huge, a giant to Shikoba, he could easily bat her aside if need be, if he could catch her at least. Her eyes traveled to his scars next, she didn’t put much heed in scars, they often told of unruly behavior and not being good enough to backup a big mouth, but his seemed different, like they all had a purpose, like he had earned every one of them and given one back to boot. The thing that really captured her attention though was his eyes, most wolves disliked her because of her own eyes, the ghostly white frightened them, made them queasy to look at, and they often assumed she was just blind in that eye, but she most definitely was not. His eyes though, began as red on the outside, and turned white the closer they got to his pupil, and immediately the corner of Shikoba’s mouth quirked up in a smile, she found herself already liking this giant stranger. The other wolf with him also caught her interest, smaller, closer to Mirai’s size, but still bigger than her as well, as he got closer sticking close to Kylo, Shikoba noticed the similarities and immediately recognized the coywolf characteristics, she hadn’t seen many of the hybrid animals, but she had seen enough. She had traveled with a couple in her years, but they usually disappeared within a couple days, they were more of the loner type in her experience, but maybe this one was different, he was already travelling with the behemoth so that was something at least. She tried to look closer, figure out more about the smaller male, but she was interrupted as the other male began speaking, "I couldn't help but overhear your mentionings of a pack. My companion and I are looking for one as well, do you know which direction we might find one?" As he finished speaking the larger male’s eyes lingered, probably cautious of them, and he had every right to be, but just as always Shikoba was calm, and she held not the faintest trace of fear or caution towards any of the wolves. Finally, the black female’s voice sounded once again, “I don’t know what you’re looking for, but I know of a pack, and I’m headed that way now to check it out, would you like to join my companion and I on the journey there? It shouldn’t be much farther, a few days give or take, depending on the conditions, and I always welcome guests on my travels.” Shikoba didn’t think about how Mirai would act, the other female had trusted her enough to at least go along with following her to begin with, so logically speaking what could a couple more wolves hurt, especially ones with the same end goal in mind as them? @mirai @hux Kylo
