DESCRIPTION. After the fires burned across the land, they stopped here in the plains. The fires had lasted a week, burning as hot as lava and consuming nearly all in its path. This area gets rained often, as it is close to the coast. This kept some of the area from being consumed by the fires, however, the majority of the area is black ash that’s several inches deep. The area has some hills but is mostly flat, with winds that kick up the ash to form black clouds. When it rains, the ash becomes slick and thick, worse than mud because it is bad to lick your paws clean. The area has yet to grow any new plant life back, and it’s almost a hazard to walk through.

Time Skip: 2 Months He loved it. He loved every second of the blessed land He had chosen to settle down in. The caves, oh how he loved the crevices he could sneak into, the darkness he could immerse himself in as his ticks bounced off the walls. They echoed beneath the mountain. They rang like a church bell, just not summoning. If anything, it was a deterrent, a signal that these mountains were claimed by Him and the midnight male's twin, each spreading their own brand of terror over the entire range. At night was when he truly relished in those caves, yes, he loved them at night. When at last he fell silent, those caves became a sonar, each screech of the incredibly rare mouse suddenly seeming ten times louder. But he let them live. Those mice, no matter how few, were his friends in the cave. Often the only other beings making a sound in the pitch that was his domain. Alas, he wasn't in his precious caves, but was somewhere just as blessed. His domain. The blessed, flare-scarred plains that He claimed. They were so beautiful; they matched him perfectly! The ash was so drenched in carbon, so heavily dusted in the illusion of ink that Ky could dig a hole through the snow and lie on the ground and be mistaken for just another burnt stump. He was the embodiment of His choice. Charred, torn up and mangled, but loved none the less by Him, even if the fire signified something else to the Prophet. Ky wasn't stupid, he knew of Adjenti and all of his majesty, but no one could ever take His place in the male's heart. Ky relished in the connections he made, his fur almost constantly laced with pitch ash whenever he was in the new common grounds. He had also blessed Ky in other ways. Superficial, but the male was now Beta alongside Him. All the power he held, the same amount as Beelie now! And that horrid beast that had come upon the pack before they had left, that 'Cayden,' had turned out to be okay. Nowhere near as fun as Beelie, too busy chatting up the nanny to really slip into the complete and utter chaos that allowed him and Zeebub to release their hell. But okay. And while closer in sanity to Him, Cayden had only become Delta. Though Ky refused to admit it, the paler giant was much more useful when it came to decisions rather than just killing blindly and without remorse. Many events had taken place after they had truly settled into their new barren home. The two most exciting were when Xalie and Suki had darted off together, their sudden absence having him itching to run after them. The new Beta had only stayed still on His orders. No matter how fun it would have been to earn a few more nicks, a few more lines, the ones who had run were His precious pet and Salutary, and Beelie's mate. Not that Beelie seemed to like her much. Pups occurred, horrendous little beasts that didn't match either of the pairs' brand of chaos at all. But Ky never saw the two be affectionate towards one another the was that He and his mate were, or how the Delta tried to be with the nanny. No, Beelie and that psycho were never in love. Lust perhaps, but leaving behind the burden of pups was simply annoying. Maybe if he asked Beelie nicely, Zeebub would let him... get rid of that problem on his paws. But before he could traverse through his beloved caves to meet his dear Beelie, he had to wait for Him. Had to let the Prophet wake up, to tell him if anything needed doing. The Beta was always happy to help, always ready to follow his Alpha's orders to a tee (perhaps with some added casualties on more than one occasion). Even through the brunt of winter, Ky didn't like building a den. He wanted winter to end. He wanted to be able to lay outside His den and blend into the ground, a hidden trap to all who weren't supposed to be there. The snow ruined that illusion. It made him stick out, just a hulking mass of obsidian perched atop the traitorous blanket of crystals. But still, he sat. Devoted wholly to Him. Outside his den, frayed ears alert as inky eyes kept an eye on all around him. Ky often found himself subjecting himself to so-called 'Walks of Adjetni.' He preferred to be awake all night, having the drag of sleep fueling the fire of his scrambled mind. And it protected Him. Dawn was when his ticks returned, the creeping up of his screech finally causing him to move. It had become almost normal, for him to only move away from the mouth of the den to release a grating laugh like a rooster's crow into the thin morning air. This first tick he never repressed. He wanted it to be a wakeup call, an alert to all that he wanted them up. @koga @marusya Delta Cayden @miyako @psyche Apprentice Anubis Apprentice Varuna @tiny @stanley @ignasia

. : Time Skip : Two Months : .
The ivory female had been beyond overjoyed to reach the new lands that had been staked out for their claim. The long days and nights of the journey had been spent delved in countless dreams and fantasies about what their new world might be like. What they had come upon had been a mottled patchwork of mountain and plain, of bursting life and choking ash. It was beyond beautiful, Psyche thought.
Much of the rocky, mountainous land - with its vibrant shrubbery and soaring peaks - had been claimed by Mortiul. Psyche admired the land greatly, but it was no more lovely than that which Ignasia had taken possession of. The pack had settled in the open spaces of the territory, calling the plains “home” for the past few months. The sweeping grasslands and unending sky above, bordered by the towering cliffs in the distance - were freedom in its purest form.
The alphas seemed especially satisfied with the area that had been made into the Commons. Not long before the wolves of Ignasia had arrived, a great scourge of fire razed what seemed to have once been fertile ground. Now, ash coated the ground, burying the land’s past in gray and black. However, the land hadn’t felt welcoming to Psyche - not at first. The very air seemed heavy and smothering, as though the smoke of the blazes still hung in phantom fog over the camp. The destruction had also left the area completely devoid of life; the world seemed muted and dull, especially in the midst of the frigid winter. However, through the fires, it could be said that Adjetni had blessed and purified the land for their arrival. And who knew; perhaps the ash would make the new land even more fertile and beautiful than it once had been, with time. Regardless, the alabaster bitch had begun to adjust to the barren stretch; perhaps it would feel more like home after a few more weeks.
Despite her satisfaction with the lands that were Ignasia’s alone, Psyche could not deny that her favorite place by far was one shared by the two packs. It was the stream - a thread of cascading, crystalline blue rapids that cleaved between two mountain peaks. Vibrant trees and shrubs dotted the hillsides. As far as the frosted female was concerned, it was perfect in every way. The water was forever clear and cold, and despite the winter’s bleakness, Psyche could picture how lush and bright the slopes would be within the next few months. The weeks spent here had been busy with settlement and adjusting, but she wondered how much time she might be able to spend there in the future - hunting, training, or even just wandering.
Psyche didn’t fancy herself as a daydreamer, but it would seem that her mind had had little else to occupy itself. Of course there had been excitement, from the travels to their new territory to its settlement. After they had arrived, one of the Mortiul demons - Suki - had taken off with Xalie, the maned Shaman. Where they had gone, no one could say. Additionally, Miyako’s litter had been born - seven little pups. Aside from that, little had transpired. Upon their arrival, Psyche had found herself granted with few, if any, new responsibilities. So, her everyday tasks were carried out as her mind soared over the plains.
Now, the ivory bitch traipsed across the the charred, blackened earth of the Commons. Snow had since buried the ashes in glistening white, making Psyche little more than a ghost against the pristine blanket. The misty gray dawn was settling over the camp, basking the world in pale light. Few wolves were out at such a time; Psyche had risen early. As per usual, Ky sat at attention outside the alpha’s den. The white female tossed him a curt nod as she passed him by. Though the scarred obsidian brute was the beta of the pack, and as such clearly had the trust of the alphas she had devoted herself to, Psyche couldn’t help but be put on edge by his presence; his borderline insanity and “murder first, ask questions later” philosophy of life lay outside the realm of her comfort zone.
Padding beyond the guarded den, Psyche simply wandered the Commons; she had little to do when the leaders had yet to rise, but she didn’t want to go too far, lest she be gone when she was needed. Rosy eyes swept the white-clad world, falling eventually on the den inhabited by Miyako and her pups. The female smiled, making a mental note to pay them a visit some time later in the day, when she knew that she would not be disturbing the young mother. She hoped to see how the pups were growing.
The female trotted along the edge of the camp, now curiously investigating the outskirts for signs of the one wolf she expected to be there. Quentin had seemingly chosen to isolate himself as much as possible since their arrival, tending to stay far from the other wolves. Though Psyche doubted he was awake this early, she wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to get under his skin a little bit - such had become a bit of a game for her since their altercation in the woods prior to their journey. If she were to see the male, she would chirp a singsong, “Good morning, Quentin!” in his direction; if she did not, she would simply carry on her way, passing loops around the Commons until she was needed.

It was in moments like these, when the world itself seemed clean and crisp and all Ignasia was sleeping and silent, that she liked to imagine a life where her children were hers to keep. There were seven of them. Birth had been every bit as excruciatingly arduous as Mistress and Xalie had forewarned amplified by a more than unconventional makeshift birthing den: a rotting hollowed log filled with splintering wood. Blizzard winds brandished the full extent of their powers against sensitive alabaster ears even as she pushed, shuddering in equal parts cold, pain, and terror. Despite her desperate, frantic desires to lay her weary head to sleep, she knew she had to remain alert, horrifically aware of every pang, cramp, and spasm that shook her slender frame. Her mistress lingered on faint outskirts, wandering on the furthest brink of her peripherals — but she could see her. All she needed was that first cry, a single, helpless shriek of newborn life, and she would swoop in for observation. She dreaded it, trying her absolute hardest to prevent her Master’s young, monstrous protégé from ever emerging, but emerge they did. The first was a boy bearing every bit his father’s likeness. Her body instantly bucked in fear, reeling in primitive, instinctual terror. By the time she’d regained her head, she’d delivered another, and another, and soon, she’d delivered seven of them, tenderly suckling at her belly. They didn’t exactly look like monsters, but didn’t monsters rarely look the type? Mistress gently mulled over them, well-pleased with their size and health. It wouldn’t last, she wanted to warn. Nothing good ever lasted in this place. Yet before she could say a word on their behalf, her jaws twitched, jolting shut as words melted within her throat. She had sensed him before she had seen him. Her entire body stiffened as she fixed her flushed, vacant gaze ahead, preoccupied with the wondrous layers of ice glazing the gaping holes. She had vanquished his voice from memory, sealing it away somewhere that she was determined to never set eyes on — and yet, even as he stood, it resurfaced. It was the voice that named her children. The first was Zayn, a reflection of what his father might’ve been in youth. Then came Tayla, small and slender as any pure-bred Iberian pup. Right on her onyx heels came Myles, fairly large, but seeming to have trouble holding up his head for nursing. The next, a large-eared ginger lass, was deemed Rome. All surprisingly acceptable names so far, but as she already knew, nothing good lasted. They summoned their pups in a final act of cruelty, allowing them to name her next two sons. They were instantly christened Hound and Mutt, without so much a moment of remorse. Her weary heart wilted. That was all she and her children were, a mockery, an oddity to be tormented and marveled at. As she ripped her gaze from the frosted log, she accidentally met his — and was met with an unexpected kindness: the privilege of naming her youngest. She named her Lotus. It was a flower that might have existed, once upon a time. She couldn’t remember anymore. Now, all that mattered was the command, muttered carelessly as she lay sprawled across the crumbling wood floor: to keep them alive. She didn’t recall much of the next two months, other than that winter’s horrors were ceaseless and cold, why was it so damn cold, didn’t Adjetni know she had seven bastards to keep alive? Life was a hushed, blurred haze of perpetual worry as far as she was concerned, spent precariously moving pups during the day and obsessively monitoring their breathing at night. Suppressed memories slipped between the oldest cracks of her mind as she affectionately recalled her sister, her mother, the true family she’d had once before she’d cared for this falsity. As she watched them now, tucked away in the Ignasian den her mistress had selected for her, she felt a pang of guilt. She had been cruel, excessively at times. Reluctantly, she recalled how harshly she’d gripped Myles in his infancy, how furiously she had screamed and threatened when the half-blind rat had refused to latch for the umpteenth time, and how didn’t he know the danger he posed, how she would die if he did, how he threatened all his siblings due to his terrible selfishness. She closed her eyes, remembering how she had shook him in her jaws — Things weren’t so bad now. Ever since they settled into their territory, she’d quietly shaken her fear of them dying. Little by little, traces of personality began peeping out. Typical mothers would be wrapped up in the possibilities, enthralled by each new word and wriggle. She was not. They horrified her. She was sensationally afraid of them, terrified of what they were and what they would become. For every hint of goodness came a cacophony of evil — although perhaps it was personal bias. Already, three showed the signs of sharing their father’s delusional visions, conjuring up scenarios as simple as an odd wolf calling their name to a headless fox haunting the mouth of their den. She’d discouraged them to her ability in private. The last thing she wanted was one to follow their father’s pathway, but already it seemed that such a scenario was inevitable. Of course, they weren’t cruel-natured as of now, per-say, but she had seen the potential, and the possibilities horrified her more than any punishment her Master could inflict. But in these moments, in these rare, precious, almost perfect moments when there were no other wolves loitering, she’d pretend she’d never seen it, that her children were little more than the fickle, innocent fools pups often were, and had shown absolutely no signs of malice. Such delusions were fool’s errands, but they brought her a small, quavering sense of solace. She’d pretend for now, but she couldn’t pretend forever. Already, the wolves of Ignasia had risen, preparing their daily tasks and errands; only a matter of time before Master and Mistress emerged. “Wake up.” She rasped, her eyes harrowed in on Ky, Psyche and — Quentin? Never a good combination. Her pups would have to eat quickly if they wanted breakfast. “No-o-w.” She gently shook Hound, before rocking him a bit harsher. “They—are—all—coming.” She panted, shaking with stress she couldn’t yet completely place the source of. “Bad—things—may—happen.” She gasped, shuddering as she gasped for air, consumed in her visions of the horrible activities her packmates had in store. “Quic-c-ck-ly.” She kicked out a back leg carelessly, summoning a sharp, angered snarl from the pits of her being. “Do it n-o-ow.” She knew she seemed delusional at worst, irrational at best, but her pups were accustomed to such. It was only for their safety after all. If anything were to happen to her Master’s servants, she’d be killed, and then what wolf in this entire god-forsaken pack would ever watch out for the little darlings then? "Wake up."A very familiar voice jolted the blocky little pup awake. A small yowl of disapproval rolled out of the pup, his eyes remaining solidly wedged shut in protest. It wasn't time yet, it was so early still! The morning should wait. Just leave for a second so that Myles could sleep in. "No-o-w," the voice said again, a body near him shuffling once, then frantically against his back, begging him to return to the world of the living. “They—are—all—coming. Bad—things—may—happen. Quic-c-ck-ly,” a splayed out back paw smacked him square across the face. A screech of pain leaked from the pup, his rouge eyes shooting open from the shock of the hit. Rather than looking at his mother, who's paw had indeed hit him, his gaze moved to Tayla. Is this the reaction she wanted him to have? Was he the cry-baby this morning? Or was he supposed to be tough? A brutish figure, one who wouldn't feel any pain, one who could walk through a battlefield without flinching. Not that Myles would ever find a battlefield. Those were only in stories! Something like that would never exist in the real world! But still, he didn't know who he was supposed to be today. "Dayday," the unfamiliar action of speaking leant him no favours in trying to get his sisters attention. His 't' still weren't all that sharp, the softer sound coming out more like a 'd' that the 't' he needed to say his beloved sister's name. He didn't make any move to leave the den as his mother pleaded, he didn't know who he needed to be yet! How horrible it would be to enter the day without picking out an appropriate outfit. @miyako @rome Apprentice Mutt Lotus Hound @tayla Zayn

Lotus "Things are not always what they seem."
Things were far from ideal. Two months into this world, and she had noticed the violence and harshness of the situation. Lotus knew that they were all born as slaves, being looked down upon by almost everyone in the pack. Their mother, a loving and caring one, was being treated unfairly by the others. As for their father, Lotus didn't know much about him just like most of her siblings, but she knew that he didn't treat their mother nicely. Neither did he seem to care much about the seven of them. Her siblings might have noticed their father's lack of care, but she doubted whether they knew more than just that. Morning had arrived much earlier than she expected. “Wake up.” The harsh whisper rang in Lotus' ears. For a moment, she thought that she had imagined it, just like how she heard voices others did not catch. Cracking her eyes open slightly, Lotus blinked away the morning lights. The blurry image of their panicked mother slowly came into focus. “No-o-w. They—are—all—coming. Bad—things—may—happen." Nestled among her siblings, she felt her body shake along with the others. Lotus had already gotten used to their mother repeating similar stuff every morning, bad things may happen. She knew very well what their mother meant. “Quic-c-ck-ly." Lotus scrambled to her paws, a little reluctantly. Casting a glance over to her siblings, she watched as her brother got kicked. Ouch. That must have hurt.“Do it n-o-ow.” Lotus sat In an upright position attentively. She heard Myles breaking the silence, mispronouncing Tayla's name. Lotus turned to Rome - the so-called leader she had been following. "Rome, wake up," she whispered. @miyako @rome Apprentice Mutt @myles Hound @tayla Zayn

Mutt's paws scrambled into the light foliage that covered the ground, small body hidden from the light by his mother's body, snuggled tightly into the female's warmth. The movements were slow at first, slow but deliberate, but as whatever danger came closer their mother's movements picked up and her voice sounded out, filling the den with it's desperation "No-o-w." Mutt growled, only pushing himself further into the warmth that surrounded him, “They—are—all—coming. Bad—things—may—happen. Quic-c-ck-ly,” he remained still for a few more seconds, at least until a thud reached his ears, and within the same moment a screech of pain sounded out and Mutt's eyes shot open and his head lifted, searching frantically for the source. Mutt's bright eyes searched the den still searching for whoever had fallen victim to the vicious kick from their mother, finally landing on the dark brown form of Myles. His brother called out for their sister, Tayla, and Mutt turned his attention back to his more immediate surroundings, and more importantly back to his own thoughts, "Hound?" Mutt glanced about the immediate vicinity of his own body, eyes searching for the larger form of his brother wildly, "Hound..." The little male pup pushed himself up, spinning around completely before his eyes finally landed on his target a few feet away, a content smile forming on his face before the pup's eyes turned to look at his mother, curious as to what her reason was for waking up all seven of the siblings.

APPRENTICE VARUNA OF IGNASIA
Varuna slept against the den wall, his sister's not too far off. Only Tiny was absent, having migrated to a Mortiul den once they turned six months. At this age they were considered apprentices now and are being trained for their duties. Imset and Anubis shadowed their parents, which ever was less busy would typically take the duo. Today was his first day shadowing Ky.
Varuna had been maturing and had learned respect; well, respect for most of his pack members that is. He still disliked Tiny, but was disappointed with her leaving as she was the only one to let him lay next to, for warmth that is. He had cut back on his bullying as she began to grow but chose to still not reach out to her. The other's were Miyako and Quentin. Miyako was easy, she was pathetic and gross. Quentin was slimey and rude, in ways that Ignasia didn't agree with in his young-aged opinion.
Now, those Varuna really respected was Cayden and then Ky. He looked forward to his shadowing sessions with the duo or just one on one. Shadowing basically meant just following them around and learning what they did. Follow in their footsteps basically. At the end of the day you're supposed to talk to your mentor but, Ky wasn't one for talking and wasn't sure how that process would go today. But one thing Varuna knew he would see today was the power of the Beta.
Although, he would exit in a few minutes. The inside of the den was cold but compared to outside, this was cozy. The commons was chilly and he hated the cold. Varuna was close to falling back asleep when scratching was heard in the commons. The noise sent chills up his spine as his head jerked upwards. His mother had learned that this was the best way to wake up him and his siblings up, signaling the rise of the day.
Stretching his paws forward he leaned upwards, pushing himself out of the den and into the light. Letting a small grumble leave black lips, he stretched out his back legs and one big shake before heading to the center. He spotted his petite mother walking towards Mortiul, meaning she probably be gone most of the day. Leaving him temporarily alone with Ky in the commons, ignoring Quentin and Psyche farther off.

Wake up.A voice from above, doing its best to penetrate the thick blanket of sleep Rome had succumbed to. It was a mere echo, easily shoved away in favor of a few more minutes of dozing. Bad things may happen. Quickly. Such words spur a single flick of her ear, a slight shifting of her body. Bad things? Such as what? The idea of having to deal with the fallout of such things prompts the pup to open a single eye a sliver, vision blurry with the remnants of sleep. The screech of her brother ascertains her journey into wakefulness, and had she been anyone else she likely would have sneered in annoyance. She doesn’t. Just stares blankly at Myles, his face likely smarting as he looks to Tayla for- approval, direction, something. What a horrible existence, to have to determine your own identity at the whims of another. Though - and she peers outside the den to where their packmates await - she supposed they were all in such a boat. Rome, wake up. A voice higher in pitch, unbearably sweet. Bleary gaze shifting to Lotus, she quirks her brow at her sibling before hauling herself into a seated position. Mother dearest seemed to be working herself into a tizzy again. The oaken pup was a tad too young to understand the whole of Miyako’s position, but she occasionally gets the feeling that they were feared by the elder she-wolf. Perhaps even unwanted. In their earliest days, she had assumed the screaming, the threats, the panic; all of that was just the normal state of things. The way one acts. Then Miss Marusya has begun to visit, and on the rarest of occasions she could see others interact outside of their little den. Composed, most of the time - wielding a control over themselves that their mother just...did not display. In comparison, it became clear. No, Miyako was not normal in her mannerisms. It was part of the reason Rome remained so stoic. She would not display her fears so openly- especially not among those who seemed to look down upon it. (This and such emotion required an energy that the unmotivated babe just did not possess.) As she awaits some sort of instruction from mother, she returns her idle mahogany gaze to what lay outside the den. Ky, absolute beast that he is, prowled about as if waiting for one of them to slip up. She wondered, would he gulp them down like Miyako seemed so certain he would? Then there was Varuna. She had very little opinion on him (or any of Maru’s children for that matter) other than to label him a ‘golden boy’ and move on. He and his siblings were the shining stars of Ignasia, and such designations were enough to keep Rome well away. They were most liable to get her in trouble should she offend them in any way. Psyche, pelt stark against the burnt terrain, seemed acceptable enough. She was almost suspicious in her niceties - never the first one to snap, quick with her smiles and quicker with her words. She almost seemed to possess a more motherly air than their actual mother, and that was... Well. Rome didn’t really trust her. (She didn’t trust anyone, yet.) Then, there was Quentin. An anomaly! She feared him the way any young pup would fear the unknown, and he more than anyone else was strange and foreign. He seemed to wield this strangeness like a weapon, and that paired with acidic words seemed to drive the majority of others away. In fact...she glances quickly from him to her siblings, an idea forming slowly in her mind. He almost excelled in driving unwanted company away. Perhaps she would...pay him a visit, once mother released them. Lotus @myles Zayn @tayla Hound Apprentice Mutt @miyako Infidel Quentin

cicatricum refertam pulchritudo “ Time Skip: 2 Months
It was oddly cold. With the new move had come many many changes. All of them were bittersweet. The one that hurt her most was the movement of the pups out from under her care. They were growing fast, learning more from the warriors of the pack than just their nanny. Though she knew they had to be independent, it was still a shock to her system. When they had arrived at their new commons, she had begun to dig a den when she was warned that it didn't need to be that big. The trio dug their own den closer to their parents while Maleah's was a short distance away. It was smaller, almost more cramped than the one she had when there were four bodies pressed against her. Worst of all, Tiny wasn't kept with the other three. Instead, she was sent to Mortiul to live in their commons. It was only a short walk away, but to Maleah, it felt like miles.
The second was that Miyako had given birth. Seven healthy, happy for all she could guess, puppies. As much as her nannying instincts kicked in and she desperately wanted to replace the loss of Marusya's pups by her side with Miyako's, she was isolated from them. They weren't worthy of protection from the Alpha's nanny, they were mouldable rats. Future warriors. Not precious gems as Varuna, Imset, and Anubis had been. Maleah still kept an eye on them. Miyako's mental state was slowly deteriorating after having the pups, and with no Salutary left, it was near impossible to do anything about it unless something incredibly drastic happened.
The third was that Vivaldi had delivered her pups, but many didn't make it. Most of them. Xalie had spoken to her about it only once, but by the sound of things, there weren't going to be many heirs to Mortiul. Maleah never talked to Xalie again. The closest thing she had to a friend had disappeared with Suki one evening. Such a bold move was something Maleah would never even consider. Marusya and Koga had rescued her, had saved her from a life of servitude and given her one of comfort and building confidence. Sure, Psyche was cordial and had grown pleasant to be around, but she and the nanny just didn't share the same bond.
It had left her hollow feeling for a little while. She didn't have the pups to project her love onto, she didn't have Xalie to converse casually with, she only had Marusya and Koga. She didn't want to become as attached to her Alpha as his Beta was, and Marusya surely didn't want that either. The once pregnant she-wolf instead urged her to busy herself with teaching. Before they had left, her Alphess had assigned the ex-nanny and herself to the newest member or Ignasia, Cayden.
On the journey to their blessed new home, the two had remained separate for the most part due to their different groupings. Presumably, her Alphess had gotten to know the male better, set down some structure for just what Adjetni meant to all of them. Either way, after they had arrived at the commons, Marusya had encouraged the gigantic male to build his den close to hers. She didn't mind his proximity, he wasn't in her den, just near it in his own. Day to day, she could still feel his gaze on her, but not nearly as strong as the near-primal one when he first met with Koga. As Stanley drifted further and further away, Cayden almost began to replace him. The male rose to Delta very quickly, and she found out why in bits and pieces, but the entire reason was fully known to her now. The fact that he had been following alongside Ignasia didn't freak her out. If anything it explained why he looked at her with such familiarity. She was comfortable enough with him, he was sane enough that conversation wasn't a problem.
Jade eyes snapped open as Ky's scream echoed through the snow-covered plains. Every morning began like that, with the tiny Iberian jerking awake in shock before calming down her heart. The inky Beta would never hurt her, she was marked by his idol. His unstable nature and intense friendship with Beelzebub repelled her from him. Crawling out of her den, her gaze firstly trailed over to the pup's den, her mind still wired towards making sure they were okay. After ensuring that indeed all three remaining in Ignasia were fine and dandy, Mal's attention turned to the Alpha pair's den. It was likely that she would just be asigned to teaching Cayden again, or maybe training more. Since Vivaldi had her pups, naturally she wasn't in any shape to assist Maleah in any sort of combat training, nor Stanley in any breaking down of the teddy bear he once was into a mindless drone that only followed orders.
It had been tickling in the back of Maleah's mind that maybe she could ask her Alpha if she could have Cayden train her in some fighting techniques. Or maybe just asking the gargantuan male directly? No, that was too demanding, too inconvenient. Koga and Marusya might not want her to even train at all. Biting the side of her cheek to curb her nerves, Maleah approached the Prophet when he emerged from his den. She had already seen Marusya exit and head towards Mortiul. "Prophet, I was wondering if today Delta Cayden could teach me some defence techniques? It would probably benefit me..." her voice trailed off, a wave of guilt for being so selfish stealing her voice. Who was she to ask for so much time? As the only sane, non-Alpha superior, he was probably needed much more by Koga. Smacking her tail into her hindlegs to punish herself, Maleah took a step back, her mind already resolved that her request would be met with a firm no. Oh well, at least she was gaining confidence as Marusya wanted. Kind of.

'Ky, you fucking bastard.'
Imset's day began like any other. Ruby eyes cracked open to glare at the entrance of her den as she internally cursed her father's pet for his more-than-inconvenient morning ritual. She'd kill him one day, when her father wasn't around to stop her, she'd tear out the same throat that woke her every morning, and she would enjoy every goddamn second of it. Imset could merely smirk at the thought of that day finally arriving, meanwhile, she squirmed against the bodies that pressed against her, kicking Varuna in the ribs while she nuzzled into the nape of her sleeping twin. Thank Adjetni that Tiny wasn't squeezed in with them as well, in fact, Imset couldn't have been happier that she didn't have to deal with the runt's presence for longer than she had to. The day that Tiny had been shipped off to Mortiul had been a cause for celebration for the young she-wolf, and she had used the extra space now vacant in their den to stretch her legs at night. What a blessing.
Begrudgingly, Imset rose to her paws, groaning at the stiffness that still resided in her sleepy joints despite her young age. Varuna had already escaped the den, no doubt to begin his day of shadowing the same bastard who's death she had already begun planning. Today, she and Anubis would be doing the same, except with a much more desirable mentor: their own parents—and judging by her mother's scent wafting from the direction of Mortiul, it would be their father in particular who would be dealing with them. Of course, when the time came it would be the twins who would take their place as leaders of Ignasia, so Imset listened to what they had to say and did as they said for the sake of her future. Adjetni wanted her to lead, so she would learn from the wolves who did so before her.
She nudged her sister. "Wake up," she mumbled with an affectionate undertone, a tone that only Anubis would ever hear in their lifetime. Imset would wait for her sister to rise before straying far from the den, so she exited shortly after prompting her twin, giving her sibling some space while she sat by the entrance of their den, eyes locked on their own parent's den as she waited for them too to exit and start the day. So much waiting to be done so early in the morning. Imset would have marched over to her parent's den and prompted their wakening herself if Maleah wasn't already standing at the lip of their sleeping place. How brave of her, but could she prompt them out any faster?

Along the journey to the new territory, Cayden had accompanied Marusya, learning from her about Adjetni. He knew a basis of what their religion was about, following them he learned snippets here and there about the God, but having listened to Marusya talk, he had learned a lot along their journey there. He had been separated from Maleah for the trip, and it had been unpleasant to say the least. But he dealt with it in stride, and - although not soon enough - the journey ended, and they were in their new territory. The lands had been scorched by a fire, a layer of snow barely hiding the territory that had previously been devastated by a wildfire that had raged in the middle of summer. It was perfect territory, touched by Adjetni and providing them with a home they knew belonged to them. The burly white male was made Delta upon reaching the land, and his rise through the ranks was quick, but not surprising. He had proven himself to Koga before, and now that he was finally apart of the pack once more, he had shown the male that he belonged, and was deserving of a higher rank. He was the perfect match alongside Ky, especially considering the black male mentioned was mostly a killer, and had a hard time making decisions. That’s where Cayden’s more level head came into play. With his ability to apply logic and intelligence to the conversation, more so than Ky’s blinding devotion to Koga, the hierarchy functioned quite nicely. Cayden was now crazed about his Alpha as much as Ky was. Cayden admired the male for his conquests, as well as for everything he had currently achieved, but he didn’t worship the ground that Koga walked upon. He had a respect for the male that had lingered since they first encountered each other, even if Cayden was only out to do what was best for him. Something lured him to follow Koga, telling him that he needed to be apart of this male’s plans. He would have never come close to meeting Maleah if he hadn’t, and he was glad he had followed the male for so long. Thinking of the female, he was reminded that he would be learning under her. After Koga’s first litter had moved themselves away from Maleah into their own den, he had been spending more time studying underneath the she-wolf instead of underneath Marusya, as the latter was working on training her future heirs. He was delighted every time that they were able to spend time together, even if she seemed distant and far away. He hoped that she would grow to like him, especially since he was one of the more sane wolves in the pack. The male’s mismatched eyes looked over the commons. He was awake and half of his body was hanging out of his long den as he waited for more wolves to wake up. The screech of Ky was nothing that startled him, he had learned to tune the male out. It seemed he was trying to summon Koga from his den, but Cayden would wait patiently for the others to wake instead of startling them like Ky had. Turning his attention to Maleah’s den, he saw that the she-wolf had exited her own, and was moving towards the Alpha’s den. He brought himself fully out his den, approaching the female. He was close enough to hear her question, and he liked the idea of teaching her how to defend herself. If she were to be in a situation where she needed to defend herself, or anyone else, it would be best that she knew how to do so. She was growing in confidence, especially with her body language. That was, until she started to hit her tail against her back legs. He had noticed this behavior to be that of self punishment, and he wanted to prevent it as much as possible. “I think it would be a great idea for you and I to work on defense techniques. Everyone should be able to defend themselves and others when it comes time,” He spoke, looking towards Koga for a nod of approval. The male had been extremely passive about what Cayden did, and it pleased him to know that the male trusted him. Once Koga approved of him taking Maleah to do some defensive techniques with him, he would walk towards the outskirts of the common grounds, where they would be training. It was far enough away that they wouldn’t necessarily be bothered by anyone else, but close enough that if Koga needed them they would be there in seconds. Looking towards the female that would presumably follow him, his mismatched mint and white eyes looked over her beautiful figure, lingering a bit too long. He had tried his best to not stare at her too much, as it seemed to make her uncomfortable. Taking his gaze from her momentarily so that she could speak if she wanted, he looked back to her. “We can start off with something simple. Since you’re smaller than most wolves, we should probably work on how to get out from underneath someone if they’re on top of you,” Cayden said, looking towards her. “Does that sound good?”@koga Maleah

|| TIME SKIP: 2 MONTHS || Anubis was well prepared for the journey, having been one of the first to come onto the land they now called home. She had grown throughout the journey, and now was almost a full-fledged adult. Her mentality told her that she already was grown enough, but her father and mother thought otherwise. She was labeled as an apprentice, and would follow her mother or father, depending on who had more time. Imset often joined, as they were to be the next leaders of the pack, and the blessed that would spread Adjetni’s word in their father and mother’s place. Currently, Anubis was lying in the den that they all shared. They had moved from Maleah’s den once they were in the commons. Anubis didn’t mind that they had moved, but it seemed that the nanny had taken their move hard. Maleah had always projected her love onto them, no matter if Anubis liked it or not. Anubis hardly felt anything when it came to others, but she could at least respect that the nanny had taken care of them when they were younger. Now they were adolescents, and ready to face their world on their own. Speaking of the nanny, her thoughts were brought to Miyako, the one that had given birth to pups recently. Her and her siblings were allowed to name two of them, which the christened the names Hound and Mutt onto the pups. Anubis found them fitting for bastard children. Although they looked much like her father, they still belonged to the pitiful excuse of a wolf named Miyako. The she-wolf hardly deserved to carry the litter of her father, but her father had a plan, and that’s all that mattered. Anubis would have to visit them later and pick on the pups that she had help name, as that was the best past time she could come up with. As she lay half asleep, she felt the warmth of Imset leave her. Growling a bit as she opened one scarlet pupil to look at her sibling, she wanted her to come back, but it seemed that they would need to leave the den. The affectionate tone went over Anubis’ head, as she didn’t quite understand it, but she gave a small nudge to her sister before she exited the den. Anubis rose to her paws, following her sister quickly behind her. “Ya know, ya could be quiet,” Anubis growled to Ky, looking at the Beta. He would not hear her however, as her words were muffled. The male couldn’t hurt her, but her father could reprimand her for saying such things. She didn’t want to anger Father too early in the morning. Seeing that Cayden and Maleah were already up, she noticed that Cayden was taking her to the edge of the commons. She heard snippets of the conversation, something about teaching her defense moves. Anubis rolled her eyes, looking towards Imset as she pressed up against her, waiting for the appearance of their father. Apprentice Imset @koga Maleah Delta Cayden

Tayla’s small body was sound asleep until she heard the command voice of her mother speak. Wake up. The simple words almost flew over the pup’s head if it weren’t for the irrational anger that came from her mother. Growling a bit as she rolled over, she looked towards Myles that tried pronouncing her name. She gave her brother a small smile, pushing herself up to sit next to him and push herself up against him. Her dark pelt was still a bit fluffy, only starting to settle as she grew into herself. She looked towards the outside of the den, seeing that there were many wolves moving about. She wasn’t honestly sure what her mother wanted them to do. She wondered if they were going to be visited by their father and half-siblings today. Tayla wasn’t sure what exactly had happened to her mother, but it felt as if she feared her own pups, which Tayla wondered why. It wasn’t like they were going to hurt her. Rolling her eyes a bit at her mother’s actions, she looked towards the others, wondering what exactly they were supposed to be doing. She hoped that something would happen, especially considering it got boring just sitting around and waiting. @miyako @myles Hound Apprentice Mutt @rome Lotus @koga

cicatricum refertam pulchritudo “ She could almost feel his presence behind her. It was difficult to not notice the giant emerging from his den shortly after she had. Her fluttering heart was attempting to be calmed down by the logic that Cayden needed to talk to Koga in the morning more than herself. She was only slightly intimidated by the massive male. He had shown two sides of himself clearly, one likened to Ky that only ever emerged if their Alpha coaxed it out of him. The other one was much more reserved - much saner too. It could problem solve, it could have clear thoughts, and it was much easier to get along with.
Even with her knowing that he was only a short distance behind her, it still startled her to hear his voice, “I think it would be a great idea for you and I to work on defence techniques. Everyone should be able to defend themselves and others when it comes time." It took a few seconds for her to realize that he wasn't talking to Koga. He said 'you and I.' That was addressed to her. Flustered by not responding to the Delta sooner, she turned back to him and have a small nod of appreciation for supporting her idea. She still didn't make that much eye contact with the male. Firstly because he was the Delta, secondly because whenever their gazes met, her stomach twisted into knots. She didn't quite know why. She could look Marusya in the eye easily if need be, Stanley was even easier. Koga still commanded a bit more respect and was less of a friendly figure and more of a rescuer. She didn't like meeting his gaze casually. But Cayden, for some reason he was different.
Her straying train of thought was stolen by Koga's nod of approval. The oaken male seemed to know something she didn't, his expression hiding something that Maleah knew nothing of. Her lithe frame turned to follow Cayden's hulking one after she gave her Alpha a grateful bow. It was only as the pair of them retreated to a more private part of the commons that fear started to trickle into her system. She hadn't sparred before, not when she wanted to. So many times she had been attacked, pinned down, slashed at. So many times she had been powerless to escape, simply stuck while she was attacked. Even with her minor training from Vivaldi, she had mostly only gained confidence, never actually learning to fight.
“We can start off with something simple. Since you’re smaller than most wolves, we should probably work on how to get out from underneath someone if they’re on top of you. Does that sound good?” Cayden's voice was softer than it had been before. This was the secret third side to Cayden. Around her, he wasn't the psycho, he wasn't the business wolf that he was with Koga. He was softer, almost as if handling a fragile vase on the edge of a table. He didn't simply bark orders at her about what they were going to do like a robot. He asked. It was something so small, but in Ignasia, it meant the world. In a land of taking, to even be asked if something was okay was as rare as a blue moon. Did she trust him enough? It had only been a short few months. She didn't know how her brain would react with his plan. Still, he was the Delta. He was trusted enough by her Alpha's that she should be able to trust him. She felt so small standing next to the herculean beast that Cayden was, but he was right. She would need to learn sooner rather than later and she had been the one to ask for the training. Not quite meeting the male's gaze, she tilted her head up to talk to him. Quietly, she murmured, "Okay."”
