Her father hadn’t once hesitated on their way down to the borders, despite the ever growing number of strangers. Aislynn listened with languid interest. Their eastern border appeared to be the most popular these days — which, fairly enough, was also their loveliest one to look at. It was nothing short of outright deception was what it was. What other land, in the whole of Ferus, was that perfectly green? She was convinced they’d snatched it somehow, stolen it from some feeble rivals from before she was born. Ferus was many things. Beautiful was not one of them. If loveliness was what these rogues sought, they’d be sorely disappointed. Already, four howls flew up from afar; new blood to be added to their ranks. God, how they needed it. Ferus as of now was comprised entirely of relatives, of uncles and siblings and perhaps two stragglers that forever lingered on the outskirts. Father had told her stories, naturally, of the olden days, where Ferus boasted more wolves than its herds could feed, but she’d never seen them. Perhaps this trip would yield something new, something exciting for her and her siblings to pick and pry at. Anything right now would suffice. They were pleasantly greeted by eight rogues instead of the originally expected four. Quite a new addition indeed — if any could meet her father’s high standards. Already, she could sense him sizing them up, making his judgements. Perhaps that was how she inherited such a prying wit. One was a female around her age. Then two “tough” males, the type she knew her father despised. All bark and no bite, as he would say. They were trouble-makers, pot-stirrers, always rousing up trouble when it wasn’t needed and refusing to lift one paw when it was. They’d have a hard time. Her father had already made up his mind. They were greeted with a sharp, gleaming snarl and thinly-veiled threats. Any wolf more obstinate might have brushed off their display, but her father had the appearance to back his claims. Aislynn looked at the two smugly, rising to assume the same dominant position her father had. This was enjoyable. She could see why her parents were so particular about displays of power. They spoke volumes more than any curse, or warning, or savagery. Conducted, quiet confidence implied an impeccable degree of control, one that any rogue, no matter how malicious, would know would pose a challenge. She could sense her brother’s budding interest in the she-wolf around their age. She rolled her eyes. Tough shit — Natsu thought he had it rough? The only male in Ferus that wasn’t related to her was Azazel! Natsu had two options, at the absolute least. And at the rate this interaction was going, her and her sister’s fate would remain the same; unless those two males somehow managed to make a comeback. One of them had been looking at her and Iylah, staring with something resembling want. Not the filthy kind, but enough to rouse Natsu’s unwanted protectiveness. “Keep staring at my sisters and you might lose your eyes,” He snarled. If her father hadn’t been lurking so closely, she would have given Natsu a pointed snarl of her own. Instead, she painfully settled for a simpler quip. “Why Nat,” she mused. “You’d leave me out of all that fun? Not very nice of you now, is it? I know I can’t speak for Iylah,” Lynn admitted. “But I’m plenty capable of ripping out eyes on my own.” She emphasized between bared teeth. “Don’t you think?” This was baiting now, in its purest simplest form at that, but she was sure Father wouldn’t stop it. A southern breeze saved Natsu from any further prying. How wonderfully fortunate. She tasted the air halfheartedly. Little more than another gathering of rogues that had lost their way. If they’d any good sense amidst the lot of them, they’d make their way to the eastern borders in due time. She was bored of the borders, bored of this plain drivel — nothing but excessive brown-nosing and kiss-assery. “Father,” She mused softly, just enough so they couldn’t hear. “I’m going to investigate the other borders. Won’t even know I’m gone.” With that, she immediately stole away. Asking his permission had been little more than polite formalities. Her Father knew her well enough to know that, no matter what he might have said otherwise, she would still find some way to do exactly as she’d pleased. Nothing, in the history of her whole existence, had ever persuaded her otherwise. It was just an odd fact of living with her; one he’d either learn to get used to or be haplessly bothered by till the day he passed on. Life was simply too short, in Aislynn’s opinion, to have to continuously worry about stepping on his fragile paws and bruising his brute ego. She’d walked away only a few paces out of sight before setting eyes on a male; this time, one close around her age. Her ears twitched in tepid interest as she passed him by, whisking her tail haplessly. “You know,” She remarked, tossing her words over her shoulder as she pressed through sparse brushes. “The meeting’s happening over there. Better hurry up, or you’ll miss out on all the fun. Wouldn’t want to have traveled all this way for nothing.”Apprentice Varuna

| Blessed children were Ky's curse. When they simply co-existed, he was able to avoid being in constant contact with His brood. Traveling with the yearlings was a different story entirely. Imset was unavoidable. Personalities that were never meant to mix well were forced to get along under His command while Ky's nerves frayed. How desperately he wanted to simply reach his sacred ground and have the children leave for their mission.
Part of Ky's growing agitation towards the younger wolves was deeply ingrained jealousy. While they got to take hostages, deal with the struggle and potential bloodshed that the mission would bring, Ky was forced to remain sober. Metallic alcohol couldn't touch his tongue without Him giving permission to the creature. But the children got to indulge in such a luxury.
He was starved for blood. So long it had been since Beelie's rats were so delightfully slaughtered. Even then he could only bathe in the carnage of holy children once more; he could only eat the flesh off of kills that weren't his own. His jaws longed to latch into something and release warm, sticky poison onto his taste buds. Soon, it would be himself under the threat of his jaws if He forbid him further. A hyena's cackle left the male at the thought. How truly maniacal to seek the blood of oneself! But Ky was beyond that point. He wanted it, needed it, and the seductive memory of the last blood to hit his tongue was fading far too quickly.
With His uncontestable command, Ky's drunken swerving gait straightened into a hunter's crouch. The Beta peeled himself away from the main party momentarily, sliding between the shadows of vegetation as any trained hunter would.
The three wolves stood out in comparison with His beautifully camouflaged attack party. One, a male he once could have imprinted on, was the obvious target. The other, a bitch reminding him of Beelie's wretched mate - the bearer of the murdered spawn - with her swollen belly and while pelt. Blacked-out eyes barely registered the other female. She was young, small, and if He took her she could become a replacement Miyako. How horrid all of the breeding females were! Even with the honor of carrying His holy leiges, she still stole two and fled. It was blasphemy against Him.
From his short distance away, Ky observed the instructions the instructions given to the children. Oh, how he longed to follow them, to rip into flesh with such delicate torture that the Ferus wolf would wish for death within seconds. To repaint the scene he once set here with the same amount of blood and shattered bones and spilled intestines over the grassy floor. To earn more scars so that blood could once again be spilled from his ear from the claws of his God. Alas, Ky would never, could never, disobey Him.
With the twin's departure, mainly Imset's so that the Beta could finally be undisturbed by her presence, Ky slunk back to his one true purpose in life. Alas again, he was told to wait. Wait was quickly becoming his least favourite word. Even coming from His mouth, even when rolled off of a holy tongue with perfected craft, Ky hated the idea of waiting any longer. A low, quiet, desperate whine left the male, his eyes flicking between the oaken form of the Prophet and the action he was prevented from participating in.

Different Scents flowed through the air as the three siblings and their father walked to the outskirts. Iylah could hear bickering coming from the group of stranger rogues before them, apparently some of the newbies wanted to impose over each other. Looking at his father's face, the pup knew that plan was not gonna work for the foolish males. "Let's try and not get too attached, guys," she said, mockingly. About eight wolves have reunited at the borders and Jay was certainly not impressed at their antics. Only one that had demostrated a bit of maturity was, as impressive as it could a sound, a pup. Someone so young, on a place like this? Certainly an oddity, Iylah didn't have experience in these kinds of things but, she could figure the borders of a pack as tough as Ferus wasn't exactly the place for pup volunteers. “What has brought you to my borders? What is your intention of joining my pack? What rank are you striving for? And don’t give me bullshit answers. If you do you’ll be sent away faster than you came,” said the Alpha, briefly asking the wolves there to explain themselves. Dad's fucking scary when he wants to. Each and every individual there stepped forward, saying their reason to have come there. Even the ones who thought they were tough shit promptly apologized, and calmy answered her father's question. Both sisters noticed Natsu specifically targeting one of the females present, and while Aislynn rolled her eyes, Iylah couldn't help but to snort. "Look at you go, bro," said the brown she-wolf, as quietly as she possible could. She didn't want to ruin whatever chance her brother had with this stranger. “Keep staring at my sisters and you might lose your eyes,” growled Natsu, surprising Iylah. Apparently, one of the wolves present who went by the name of Diablo was eyeing up both Ferusian members. “Why Nat, you’d leave me out of all that fun? Not very nice of you now, is it? I know I can’t speak for Iylah,” complementing her brother's threat "But I’m plenty capable of ripping out eyes on my own. Don’t you think?" she added, baring her teeth, baiting the white-coated male. Iylah couldn't help but to feel awkward at the thought. Was someone so older than her own age, looking at her like that? "Slow down there you guys, don't forget there's three of us hungry for dumbasses," said the she-wolf, looking at the clearly bigger and stronger male directly, knowing well he wouldn't try anything hostile.

| Alpha Jay of Ferus
Emerald hues looked towards each wolf that was there, waiting for each to speak. He was honestly not impressed with most of their answers, especially the ones that answered with ‘family’. Although Jay held his family close and loved each member of it, he did not value family and friendship in Ferus. Respect and dominance were the key to Ferus, and they would be the only social integrity the pack held. No families would be built among the pack members unless he had a say, and he would definitely not be allowing just anyone to create one in his pack. The grey male’s ear twitched as he listened to each one. The first to speak was one of the aggressors at his border, and he was underwhelmed by his reply. He was looking for a strong family, and that was something that made Jay almost laugh in disgust at. He may find a strong family here, but it won’t be the type of family he wants. He also spoke of becoming General. Jay wasn’t sure how Azazel would take the male’s comment, but the feminine male speaking would have to challenge his current General for the position. Although Azazel was mostly tame now, the male was a force to be reckoned with, one of Jay’s toughest warriors. Getting the position of General next to Azazel would be nothing short of difficult. Jay would have also preferred that a strong female warrior would impress the General enough for him to share the position with her. This male - however much his appearance resembled a female - was male and not one that Jay would trust with a superior position at all. Especially after his little display before Jay approached. “You of all wolves, wanting to be a General. Fitting, but not going to happen. After your little display I would hardly trust you within my pack as anything more than an Omega,” He spoke, words cutting through the air after the male finished. The next to speak was the small wolf that he could easily step on and squish, but she had quite the fire to her. She was quick, keeping her sentences short and to the point. She was the type of wolf that Jay liked. Someone who didn’t bullshit trying to get into a pack that they knew they had to work for. She wanted to get shit done, and he would more than gladly let her. Impressed with how quickly she spoke, and that she was very vocal about her skills, unlike the previous male, was daring enough to say her name before she was requested to do so. “Well Harley, I think you will fit in well here if you keep up that attitude,” He spoke, looking towards her and biting his lip before he could add ‘pipsqueak’ to the end. He needed to keep with his dominant aura for right now. But when the time came, he knew that he would utilize that nickname for her one way or another. Even if it pissed her off. The next to come forth and speak was the yearling that had caught his only son’s attention. He remembered the sparks of that. Seeing a she-wolf that was by far the prettiest you had seen, yearning to get to know her, to befriend her and ultimately become mates with her. With his son’s curious gaze, he would most definitely be accepting this she-wolf to see if she were to take his son. And with the fact that she was young and trainable, Jay could mold her into anything the pack needed, especially with her not having thought of future ranks quite yet. He gave her a small nod. “I would be glad to train you alongside my children. They are around your age. But I’m not going to say it’ll be easy. My mate and I are very particular on how we train and who we train,” He spoke, before moving onward to the next wolf. The next to speak was the other aggressor at his borders. Jay had to keep from rolling his eyes as the male spoke. He needed a purpose in life? A pack didn’t just magically give you a purpose, you have to pick a purpose in life. That’s what Jay had been taught and was teaching his children. You couldn’t survive off of what other wolves wanted you to be. Instead, you had to make your own path and walk it with a sense of purpose. The male seemed to be throwing a pity party for himself. Jay knew what it was like to lose something like a mate and pups. Xanthe and Benji were not mates, but they held his heart and destroyed it when their deaths came and went. He had lost Ezikeal and nearly lost Miyu to Death’s grip as well. But to get acceptance into a pack by throwing yourself a pity party? It was honestly just pitiful listening to the male finish speaking. “I don’t need a pity party started at my borders. I’m sure we have all lost someone and just because you’ve lost what you thought was your ‘purpose in life’ doesn’t mean you can come to my borders and expect me to bring you in out of pity,” He spoke, looking towards the male with a grating gaze. After a minute, he moved away, heading to the next wolf that would speak. The next to speak was a little black she-wolf. He listened to what she said, and from what he heard, she would die before she even reached the commons. She was much too soft. The yearling still had time to learn what it meant to be a Ferus wolf, her personality could be shaped. And it wasn’t like Ferus didn’t accept soft-hearted wolves. But they were kept as Omegas all of their life, being nothing but stress relief for the pack superiors. To bolster his ranks, he would maybe keep her, but he highly doubted it. He didn’t address her at all, just gave a hard look in her direction and moved on. There was nothing to say. She was more than likely being sent away from his borders today. He felt a gaze burning into his pelt, and he looked back at his son who was asking permission to speak. As the next Alpha of the pack - not that Natsu knew at all - he would be allowed to speak whenever he wanted. But for right now he was asking Jay’s permission and the grey colored male allowed it. A scathing comment sent in the way of Diablo was more than enough to have Jay’s eyes narrowing. He was glad his son had noticed that, and as their father he felt a sudden urge to rip into the male for even glancing in their direction. But Natsu was standing his ground, and he was impressed with his son for that. His two daughters both piped up at this moment, proclaiming how they didn’t want to be left out of the fun of tearing this wolf apart for even thinking about anything. It could have been a simple innocent glance in their direction, but he gave a small smirk as he didn’t bother to address the male. He was well on his way out of here as well, but maybe he could utilize him as a warrior in his pack. Nothing was guaranteed here, and he would show them that. As Aislynn said she was going to scout the borders, he gave a small growl, but she was already off and away before he could say anything. Hadn’t she learned that going off on your own at the borders only resulted in trouble? I guess not. He looked towards Iylah, seeing if she would follow her sister, but instead she stayed, and he gave a small flick of his tail before turning back to the rogue at hand. The next to speak were one after the other. The two males that seemed to have come here together. The first was very self deprecating, and Jay just felt bad for the wolf standing in front of him currently. However, he had potential. He reminded Jay of himself a year ago, before he had met Thatcher. Wandering without a purpose, not having anything really to do. And now he was the Alpha of Ferus, given him to a friend that he could never replace. Although Thatcher was harsh, he molded Jay into what he was now, and Jay felt a kindred spirit in the male standing in front of him. Maybe he would do the same for him. The other male was the same, although having more faith in his skills. He gave a small nod as he listened to them. “Give yourself a bit more credit. You’re young and still have to find your way in this world,” Jay spoke, although not losing the edge to his voice. The last to speak was the white female that had a large red patch on her back. She spoke of being a warrior, something that his pack direly needed. She was quick and to the point, being similar to Harley in aspects. He gave a nod in her direction, before stepping back. “It is never guaranteed that you stay in Ferus, but you will all follow me to the Commons for further evaluation,” He spoke, looking towards Natsu and Iylah. “We’ll assume your sister will meet us back there,” He spoke before heading towards the Commons. These wolves had no idea what was in store for them, and a devious smile planted itself on the one eared lupine’s face as he walked. -Exit to Ferus Common Grounds-

The trip to the borders had been uneventful, much to Anubis’ distaste. When she wanted to spill blood of wolves she scented nearby, her father kept her from doing so, and instead kept them on the path to the Ferus Borders. As they finally arrived, it seemed that her father’s plan was already a bit tampered with. To the east there was a cluster of wolves, as well as the scent of Ferus - or what she presumed it would be with the scents that lay at the borders. They would need to make sure that they kept this quiet enough, but the wolves were sure to leave soon enough. It was a good enough distraction for the Alphas of Ferus to stay distracted with the newcomers that encroached their borders, and would make it easier for the siblings to do what they came here to do. From what her father had said, the Salutary was larger, larger than even Cayden. Although she knew that they would be able to take the male down, Adramalech wanted him virtually unharmed, and that only made it worse for them. She followed her father’s lead and snuck closer to where they would be able to see their target. The faint scent of herbs lingered from where she could see the three that were their targets. One was their age, a small female. More than likely the Alpha’s child. The second was a white lupine with a swollen belly. That meant two things. Either she was extremely fat and needed to lose some weight, or she was pregnant. Anubis was going to go with the latter since she caught the faint scent of milk wafting through the air. Her father spoke of an adjustment, and she felt a tinge of excitement, although lasting only a moment before disappearing. They would be taking two wolves instead of one, and that was completely fine with Anubis. Maybe they would shed some blood and kill the little darling that was with them. But with her possibility as the Alpha’s child, that would cause the Ferus pack to rise up and try to track them, which only meant they would ruin her father and Adramalech’s plan. Maybe an unsuspecting Ferus wolf would come along and they would be able to kill it instead. Koga sent Varuna off to the east to make sure that wolves did not get through, and spoke of his charm. Anubis saw no charm when it came to Varuna, but he was also her brother, so the aspect of him being anything but annoying was hard for Anubis to recognize. But he was sent away which only made this easier. Didn’t need his annoying ass in the way of her and Imset’s time to shine. As they settled down, Anubis gave a disgruntled whine as her father spoke of being patient. If Anubis was anything, it was not that. Apprentice Imset Apprentice Varuna @koga Beta Ky Apprentice Varuna

| The trip to the borders was grueling enough for the male, but they had finally made it. The Southern border had sparse trees and golden fields that would yield herbs more to Solex’s liking, but the Eastern border would have been better. There was more greenery there, and therefore more to find. But alas, they would be able to find what they needed here. Looking to Miyu, he wondered if his one-eyed niece would be able to identify what they could find here. He started off looking in empty logs that were decaying, finding that there were some cobwebs here and there. Collecting those, he found a good enough log to set them on for collection later. Setting them there, he proceeded to mull about the territory. He found some Blessed Thistle, something that was quite rare, but it would work to say the least. Beckoning Miyu over with his tail, he pointed towards the herb. “Can you remember what this one does?” He asked, looking towards her for an answer.
If and when she did answer, he would give her a nod of approval or a shake of his head if she were to answer wrong. Giving a look towards Aspen, he gave Miyu a short nod. “Collect this and set it with the cobwebs, make sure to be careful,” He spoke, having a softened tone compared to the gruff and grumpy tone he usually acquired when speaking to anyone else. Heading out and away from the two, he let his nose search, trying to find anything that would resemble a meal. While Semira was off hunting with most of the pack, it would be good to have something to eat, at least until the prey was caught and they were able to return to the commons for the prospect of a full belly. Quail was what he spotted before he caught the scent, his hulking size being less than helpful as he tried to approach slowly. These birds could fly short distances, but they couldn’t take to the air as well, and even if they did, Solex was large enough that getting up onto his hind legs wouldn’t prove to be an issue. Stalking forward, he took up a running pace, heading straight for the bird. Grabbing it in his maw, he snapped the neck rather quickly, bringing himself to return to the other two as he had made his kill. Dropping the bird in front of Aspen, he nudged it towards her to eat.
His mate was stubborn, but even she knew with her swollen belly she would need to eat. He wouldn’t find something for him until he knew that she had eaten at least some of the bird now laying dead at her feet. Looking towards Miyu, he would wait to see if she had any questions, or had found something particularly useful when it came to herbs.

“You of all wolves, wanting to be a General. Fitting, but not going to happen. After your little display, I would hardly trust you within my pack as anything more than an Omega.” Spiras didn’t flinch from the cutting edge in the Alpha's tone; he was more preoccupied with the arrogant wolf’s words. An Omega? Him, of all wolves, an Omega?! That was unacceptable. He, who had once led his very own pack to many victories, wasn’t nearly low enough to be an Omega of all ranks! He did all he could to suppress a growl, to hold himself back from going for the Alpha’s throat. Instead, he only imagined it. He fantasized about standing over this arrogant bastard with his blood on his muzzle and paws. He could take him as an equal, no questions asked. The Alpha acted so high and mighty, while he didn’t even realize that Spiras was a trained and highly skilled fighter. He was too moronic to notice that Spiras was useful. And yet, of all ranks, an Omega?!! Spiras closed his eyes, completely zoning out all the other wolves. He had planned to watch each on carefully as they gave their answers, but that wasn’t possible in his current state. The Alpha had said it was about trust. Without a second thought, he immediately knew what he had done wrong. How could he be so stupid? It was rare that he made such mistakes, and now of all instances was the worst time possible. While he saw this Alpha as a moron, he currently couldn’t say any less for himself. Spiras had tried to claim dominance over the rogues in another wolf’s domain. It had been his instinct at the time, but now he saw his mistake. While he was physically superior to them in every way, he still should have refrained. Thinking had calmed him, even if only slightly. Glancing up from the spot that he had been staring at on the ground, he noticed that every wolf had finished speaking. When the Alpha had finished with his acknowledgments, Spiras attempted to catch his eye for a moment, hoping he to gain his attention. Regret shone in his violet spheres; regret for his actions. While he only mourned for himself, any wolf that didn’t possess telepathic powers would see it as guilt, a sign that he wanted to improve. While that was true, it was only for selfish reasons. Spiras dipped his head to the Alpha and said in an earnest tone, “I apologize."Even if the one-eared wolf wouldn’t notice, Spiras made a vow to do better. While he had failed during the greeting, he was confident that he would be able to prove himself during the Alpha’s tests. He followed him with a new determination set in his eyes, a resolve to do all he could to emanate loyalty. Now that he was sure of his place, he would treat the rogues around him as equals until he received his rank. However, without a thought wasted, he knew that if he ended up with the role of Omega, he would leave immediately. .:Exit to Ferus Common Grounds:.

Sorry for the rant post ):
The brute had already received enough backlash for his actions, but it seemed as if would never end. At this point, the were simply being cruel, and Diablo truly wondered if this was some sort of test, or if all the Ferus mutts acted like brats. Every little thing he did was judged with menace, many ill words getting under his skin. He began to feel his bright hues burning into the ground, which for the moment seemed like the only thing that wouldn't degrade him and his ego. If he looked at the alpha, he would be ripped a new one for a simple glare. And apparently the pups were against a simple glance, the harsh comment taking Diablo for surprise. If he took his anger out even slightly on these "favored" wolves that had apparently done no wrong, he would face a slick word from the alpha. His chest ached with a will to protect himself with a loud snarl against almost everyone now, but he refrained. This had to have been the biggest challenge of his life, just about cutting his tongue by how harshly he had to bite it. Diablo had only ever felt this insulted by his family, and by the second he considered leaving more and more. There was simply no possible way he could manage life her treated like the pack idiot constantly. " I don't need a pity party started at my borders. I’m sure we have all lost someone and just because you’ve lost what you thought was your ‘purpose in life’ doesn’t mean you can come to my borders and expect me to bring you in out of pity," the comment caught in his ears, but Diablo couldn't bring himself to look at the alpha anymore. His tail flicked angrily, though, as his silence spoke volumes. This son of a bitch is going to loose his other ear if he thinks i'm some god damn pansy, the words stuck within his head, a taste of blood in his mouth from his canines sinking into his tongue. How was Diablo still here? The absolute worst thing this alpha could have said was any sort of insult to his family. A fucking pity party? That was the last time he ever mentioned his family to anyone. And if any of these rogues felt ballsy enough to question him, they would receive some sort of remark violent enough to cut stone. His life was no ones business anymore. After more evaluation, it seemed the alpha wanted to further test their skills. So, apparently Diablo had a second chance. Did he want it? Not particularly anymore, with his treatment and all. Spiras seemed willing, though, and eventually as the others got moving, Diablo too decided he would hall along the back of the group, glaring at any of his equals that dare look near him. He still owed Spiras a fight, and if Ferus wolves were as rough as the spoke, he may very well get the chance. Meanwhile, the brute was on the very fence of even joining. This 'evaluation' would determine if it was even worth it wasting his time around here.

Achak listened softly making sure to remember the alpha's words carefully, even though he wasn't going to try and assign himself a role it was important to listen to what the alpha was looking for. He glanced to Shale to see how he was holding up, he was happy to see the young wolf not as shaken up as he used to be. Achak wondered what having a pack would be like again, he wasn't sure he'd remember how to act. Either way he'd do his best making sure to do as he was told but also looking out for everyone's best interests. He glanced up beginning to follow the alpha carefully glancing at the wolves around him. Whatever lay ahead of Achak he would accomplish it that much he was sure of, he was now determined, he had purpose again a new direction to take in life and he would not let it pass him by. No matter what Achak would push himself as far as he needed to complete the trials of the alpha. He followed closely behind the group making sure to keep his eyes ahead of them.

Shale, it seemed, had been correct about one thing. Ferus had standards. Very high standards. Clearly this pack was built around a well-defined social order, and the alpha was not about to let anyone upset it. That was one thing that didn’t worry Shale; he knew the stability and strength that such a system provided, and felt most at his ease when everyone’s roles were clearly defined. So far, Ferus seemed to fit the definition of what he was looking for in a pack. Hopefully I do the same for them. The one-eared alpha gave varied replies to the rogues gathered at his borders. To some, notably Diablo and Spiras, he was less than impressed. To others, such as Mira, he said nothing at all, and to a select few, like Harley and Yrene, he even seemed favorable. When it came to Shale himself, the alpha’s reaction was...middling. He didn’t seem particularly impressed, but he didn’t seem dissatisfied either. “Give yourself a little credit. You’re young and still have to find your place in the world,” was all the alpha said, before directing his attention to the next rogue. The words weren’t much to go on, certainly, providing little insight as to what the alpha actually thought of Shale and Achak, but they weren’t words of anger or dismissal, and that was more than enough for now. Shale breathed a soft sigh of relief, glad at least to have made it this far. When every rogue had spoken, the alpha gave his next instructions. “It is never guaranteed that you stay in Ferus, but you will all follow me to the Commons for further evaluation,” he said. Shale tilted his head to one side, considering the statement. Further evaluation? What does that mean? In his admittedly limited experience, pack superiors accepted or denied rogues at the borders, never allowing anyone into the territory who was not chosen to join the pack. Yet the alpha had just stated that not all of them would have a guarantee of acceptance into Ferus... Shale put his confusion out of his mind. The alpha was the alpha; he could do as he pleased when it came to his pack, and it was not Shale’s place to question him. He fell into line beside Achak, grateful he still had his friend with him as they made their way to the Ferus Commons. He couldn’t deny that the mention of “further evaluation,” whatever that entailed, had him more than a bit nervous, but he didn’t feel as anxious as he’d expected to. His primary feeling was one of relief. Coming this far, holding up under the alpha’s scrutiny, had bolstered his confidence a little. Hopefully enough to make it through whatever’s coming next. It was all to amusing watching the Alpha as he lay into the disrespectful males that had asserted themselves so rudely before the truely dominant male's appearance.Yrene knew it would be unwise for her to sport the smirk that she was struggling to keep at bay, but she couldn't stop the gleam in her opalescent eyes that revealed all too well how much she was enjoying this. It wasn't long before the Alpha's comments were directed at herself, shortly after giving a positive response to the she-wolf who had step forwards and spoken before Yrene, she received a similarly hopeful comment. “I would be glad to train you alongside my children. They are around your age. But I’m not going to say it’ll be easy. My mate and I are very particular on how we train and who we train,” the male had said everything that the youngling could have wished for. He seemed to be more than happy to train her alongside his own offspring, which brought a bright and grateful smile to the young girl's maw before she bowed her head respectfully in thanks. She honestly didn't care about the intensity of the training, though she was glad it wouldn't be anything to bludge, Yrene liked a challenge. With these thoughts swimming through her head, she found herself looking towards the other younglings she would be working beside. They held themselves as tall as their father, pride radiating off the trio in amounts that Yrene wished she could one day match. She had to stifle a chuckle as the raven black male threatened one of the aggressor rogues, her gaze instantly drawn to the younger male as he spoke of such violence with an intimidating amount of ease. Yrene was rather captivated by this coal-coated male, and found herself staring with misty purple eyes for longer than she probably should have, flecks of blue and milky greys refracting through her eyes as she traced that slight hint of muscle that had obviously replaced his baby fat. The young girl found her gaze trailing further than she had anticipated, her gaze connecting with his own for what felt like several minutes, when in reality their eyes locked for all of half a second before each party quickly averted their sights, a slight blush colouring the skin of her cheeks that was so thankfully hidden underneath her rosy white fur. 'Oh crap. Did he see me? Oh shit, he definitely saw me. Damn it, is he gonna threaten my eyes too?'Slowly, and laced with an extreme amount of caution, she glanced back at the male. Yrene furrowed her brows. It seemed that he wasn't going to threaten to remove her eyes along with the other male, in fact, it seemed he wasn't interested in the slightest by her existence...it was a shame, as the yearling found herself close to admitted that he was actually rather handsome. “It is never guaranteed that you stay in Ferus, but you will all follow me to the Commons for further evaluation,” soft grey ears twitched and her attention was immediately thrown back towards the Alpha, completely disregarding the fact that she had almost experienced controversial thoughts involving his own son. Giving a slight shake of her cranium as if it would be enough to forget everything that had just occurred in those few short seconds, she began following behind the Alpha as he lead them into the heart of their territory. Anticipation left her feeling the affect of a slight amount of nerves, excited at the thought of what was the come following the trials that she would be sure to accomplish as best as any youngling could.

Introductions were simultaneously the most boring and interesting part about trying to get into a pack. Harley's tiny body was practically overflowing with personality while the two giants seemed to run dry. This 'Diablo' had some horrible sob story. His mate and child killed. Tragic, but not her problem. He seemed to be doing fine now, not stuck mid-sob half the time. It must've happened a while ago. Yrene was one that intrigued her. She was only a yearling, but seemed to have more purpose to strive for than most of the older wolves at Ferus' borders. Hopefully, the pair of them would get in and Harley could see what this kid was all about. The rest of the introductions were... lack-luster apart from Ketaki. She seemed to have some spunk behind those chilling eyes too, so hopefully, they would get to talk too. “You of all wolves, wanting to be a General. Fitting, but not going to happen. After your little display I would hardly trust you within my pack as anything more than an Omega,” the Alpha's cold words toward Spiras barely left the tiny Mexican she-wolf enough time to conceal the snort of laughter that bubbled up from inside her. A small sound of amusement still left the female, the karma just that just beat the towering male back down about forty pegs being to perfect to not appreciate. “Well Harley, I think you will fit in well here if you keep up that attitude,” he addressed her, definitely referring to her confidence and not her guffaw at his recent words. Giving him a nod of appreciation, Harley flicked her tail back and forth behind her. It was just a small flag of her impatience, but with no clear approval to join Ferus, the she-wolf wanted to know what the Alpha would say after all the damn introductions were done.“It is never guaranteed that you stay in Ferus, but you will all follow me to the Commons for further evaluation,” at last he revealed, prompting the practical pack of rogues at his borders to follow him back. With a cheeky grin, Harley strode forwards after the male, following behind his children as they lead the rogues back into their territory. A further evaluation, huh? She couldn't wait. A hunt, a spar, a race, anything at all Harley was willing to do. Even staring at a rock for an hour, but with this Alpha's attitude, she doubted that he would be that dumb. He wanted warriors, he was gonna get one. -Exit to: Ferus Common Grounds- Alpha Jay @achak @diablo @ketaki Shale Spiras Mira Yrene Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah

So this was the long fabled land of their father. Ferus — at first, Priya had assumed it to be little more than myth. Her mother had a way of crafting fanciful tales; flimsy, clumsy fables that fell apart with just a bit of prying. At first, she’d refused to tell them of their father at all. For all they’d known, they might not have even had one. Then, when they’d finally gotten her to confess to one, she’d claimed he was a mischievous night spirit who could only ever come to meet her by the light of a full moon. Then after that, he was a warrior from a far-off desert land, and it was that version that stayed for the longest time. Mother never liked to discuss her father much, except for the few times when she’d been near-delirious with fever. He was clever, she’d claimed, with a wondrous wit. A strategist at heart, she had claimed he was the only wolf who, in her entire history, could match her mind. She hadn’t mentioned him much, except for the fact he was handsome, and that she, Priya, looked most like him. They’d all had an image of him in their heads, little more than a character, truly — at the absolute best, it was the idea of a “father” they were all fond of, and little more. In her deepest heart, she knew she could have lived the rest of her life without him, but now they’d no choice but to make him a reality. Mother had vanished. They weren’t sure why, or how, but all they knew was that she was wholly and truly vanished. Where had she gone? They’d discussed the question tirelessly amongst themselves, conjuring up countless theories, puzzling over possibilities on possibilities, but not a single one changed the reality that Mother was no longer there. For all their analysis, there were no answers to be had. At first, they’d childishly assumed they could make it alone. They were all wrong. Mother had taught them to hunt, true, but she had them to hunt squirrels, rabbits, mice; nothing truly capable of sustaining a pack of five. For the longest time, they survived by feasting on carrion scraps, or savoring the generosity of kind strangers, but there were only so many to be had in a land as isolated as theirs. After much discussion and debate, they’d all come to an inevitable conclusion. They’d no longer any more choice. They had to seek the land of their father and hope that his works there would buy them a ticket on — and if not? Priya hadn’t allowed herself to think so far. The journey had been difficult enough without the worst case scenarios. And oh, what a miserable journey it had been! She’d tried her absolute hardest to maintain a friendly, positive front, but Nikolai saw right through it, always cruelly assigning voice to the thoughts they’d all had but hoped to ignore. She’d almost lost her temper with him a number of times. Nivaan and Jirou had kept the peace, as tense as it was. They’d been starving half the time, and when they weren’t starving, they had been fleeing from a host of predators. Still, Lali never let her cheeriness leave her, so why should she? Yet every new day made it more and more difficult. Perhaps it would have been easier if they’d any tangible answers to explanations to why their lives were this way; why Mother had always been so bitter towards anything resembling the pack lands, why their father was absent, why she always vaguely gestured to her scars when they asked why they never went elsewhere. Instead of answers, all they had at their disposal was a stagnant, eternal state of mystery where they could muse and marvel for decades, but never receive the closure they needed. They’d wandered forward blind, without a single good sense of direction, bearing only the hope that their journey would yield what they so desperately needed. So far, the facts were checking out. They’d indeed stumbled upon a desert land sparsely marked by mountain shrubs. The borders they’d stumbled upon seemed oddly lush in context of the rest of the territory, but she’d no complaints. She paused, hesitantly opening her mouth to test the morning air. There had been dozens of wolves here recently — perhaps even within the last hour, but only a few of those scents still lingered. Her pulse hastened automatically. They were here. She’d yearned for this moment for so long, but now that it was here, she felt she could hardly stand. “Spot check,” She croaked softly, attempting to steel her nerves before finally approaching. “How are we all doing? Don’t be nervous everyone, we’re going to do great.” Priya asserted, boldly attempting to assure them all when she, in all her audacious confidence, had never been more unsure of anything in her life. The possibilities were endless, and while there were certainly many good; there were also infinitely more bad available. She swallowed hard. Thinking like that would only ensure defeat. She had to exude confidence, not so much that she seemed arrogant, but enough to suggest that she was fully assured in her ensuing claims. She took a few steps forwards at the head of her siblings. While she’d never regarded herself as their leader per-say, she was the most confident in her abilities to get them all in. Jirou was the most charming amongst their five, true, but Mother had warned them that too much charm could appear deceptive, which was the last thing they needed. Amber eyes analyzed the area, searching for signs of life. A few steps further into the thicket revealed a young male, an adolescent just like her and her siblings; albeit one that seemed a bit older. He seemed to be alone at first glance, but a second revealed a companion, a sister if she’d analyzed their scents correctly. For being at most a year old, they held themselves with astounding confidence. Perhaps they were the children of somebody important in Ferus. At any rate, it seemed to be worth an approach in her eyes. “Hello,” She spoke calmly, stepping out to greet them. “You may not know me or my siblings,” She clarified, hoping to quell suspicion. “But we’ve come for a purpose. We’ve good reason to believe our father presently resides in Ferus. Does a wolf by the name Flint live here?” Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah

Adjetni is my sugar daddy

Post by Apprentice Imset on Jul 22, 2019 18:48:05 GMT -8
Heavy paw steps fuelled by her untameable impatience carried Adjetni's heir beside those she lovingly called family, while her hellish eyes often twitched to watch the insane mule that their own father called his pet. The descent of their journey from the ashen mountainside they called home had been long and tedious, the tension held in the air playing like a knife along her delicate nerves. Of course, that keen desire to off the pitch black male that accompanied them still thrived, and she entertained herself by creating ways she would perhaps end his life when the time came. But for now, as they approached the borders of their favourite rival pack, there were other matters at hand. The distinct scent of rogues caught her nasals before anything else, her cranium shifted to look towards where the eastern borders would have begun as if expecting to see the congregating group in the distance. It was a shame that they had such specification regarding their mission. Imset would have loved to coral those helpless rogues and perhaps snag herself a new pelt, perhaps even a pet of her own if any of them really managed to catch her interest. “Stay clear of the eastern borders, the majority of the rogues and pack wolves are clustered there. Truly a shame, we could have recruited some. They might have made fine disciples.” It seemed that her father was following the same train of thought as herself, though she wouldn't say it out loud, she was also contemplating the power of their Lord and his influence. If Adjetni truely wished those wolves to fall into his service, surely he would make it so that they found that path in their own way. Besides, they had to be thankful for the disciples they had already recruited. One could not take more than they needed, and if their Lord believed he needed more, he would make it so. “Move quietly,” their father whispered, changing his course through the brush. “Remember — we’re searching for a black male somewhere around my size. We don’t want him noticing.” Imset was growing rather weary after so man mentions of this male's size. She doubted he could've been any bigger than the giants in Mortiul, and his profile as a Salutary painted the picture of a male who possibly would be fazed by the morality of a fight. With these potent thoughts she followed her father, crouching to the ground and ignoring the sensation of the ground mingling with the fur of her creamy underbelly. After a few minutes worth of stalking through the brush, following various scents and hints as to where they needed to go, they found an ebony-black figure looming in the distance. Imset's hellfire eyes almost popped out of her skull as she lay her sights on his frame. Despite the amount of warning they had received, she still found herself surprised by the sheer amount of wolf that they were supposed to be wrangling back up into the mountains. But he was not alone. A snow-white she-wolf stood beside him, radiating the scent of fresh milk while her belly was visibly swollen with the weight of pregnancy, most likely carrying a litter belonging to the Salutary. A younger female also accompanied them, possibly being around Imset's age, though she highly doubted the girl would come anywhere near close to her level of skill in certain things that mattered. She shifted her gaze towards her father, waiting to see what would be said of these unexpected accompaniments. “An adjustment, we will be taking a second captive with us.” A wicked grin quickly pressed in on Imset's maw as she looked back to the pregnant she-wolf that was being referred to. This just made everything so much more interesting. “We’ll start with a hostage. Imset, Anubis, sweep the southern borders. Pick your target wisely. Preferably, a wolf both of you would have no trouble dragging back here without ruckus. This needs to be done as quietly as possible. Once you find your target it, prevent it from making any excess noise, through whatever means you may find necessary. Cripple limbs, shred ears; even if you have to rip out the tongue, it’ll be fine. Your captive won’t need a voice where they’re going. Bring them back to us alive, and semi-healthy. And most importantly, move quickly. We don’t have much time." A swift nod was all Imset gave before she swept her tail against her sister's rump, beckoning her to follow as they spilt off from the group and headed towards the southern borders as they had been instructed. The twins made their trek swiftly, arriving at the southern portion of the borders in no time at all. Imset's ruby gaze swept every inch of the sparse tree line while her nasals took in grateful amounts of the spring air, sifting through the scents until she found something of interest. "There's another Ferus wolf around here somewhere," she commented as they moved, following the trail with carefully placed paw-steps until they saw the she-wolf that owned the scent Imset had managed to find. She was around the same size as them, though her body wasn't lined with nearly as much muscle. A quick nod of her head to her sister told Anubis that she would take the lead for now. "She's completely oblivious. Grab one of her hind legs and drop her onto the ground, I'll do any of the necessary talking."Without much more warning, Imset began her approached towards the unsuspecting she-wolf. It seemed that the Ferus bitch had only caught wind of their presence seconds before the youngling had launched herself at one of the she-wolf's hind legs while her sister would have done the same to her other, both she-wolf pulling with their combined strength to floor their captive. Instantly, Imset was standing atop the whimpering she-wolf, a paw pressed threateningly against her throat. "Shh, shh, shh," she hushed, pressing down on the venerable windpipe that lingered under her paw, turning those pathetic screams into a spluttering gasp. "You have been found by the children of Adjetni, what a blessed day for you! Don't worry my darling, we'll take good care of you. We'll make sure you receive everything that our Lord believes you deserve." A wickedly pleased grin crossed her maw as she turned to look at Anubis. "But, being such loyal children to our Lord, I would think we have some kind of say in what she does and doesn't deserve, right?" Imset mused while her claws dug into the she-wolf throat hard enough to draw blood against the quivering windpipe that was practically begging for air. "And I'm starting to believe that those vocal cords of yours aren't anything you'll need where we're going." With eyes that glowed like a sunset in hell, she retracted her paw from their captive's throat, moving instead to pin the girl by her shoulder as she gasped desperately for sweet air. "Anubis, I'll let you do the honours." She said, knowing how much her sister would have loved to inflict such damage. Meanwhile, her maw moved down to snatch the Ferus wolf's ear between her fangs before she rasped the words, "Sweet girl, be still."

They’d made their way to the borders in relative silence. Truthfully, she wasn’t sure what she’d expected it to look like. None of her siblings had ever been talkers per-say. Anubis and Imset had always had their own private exchanges, true, but those always stayed strictly between them. Varuna, on the other hand, preferred brooding, ruminating in his own hushed thoughts. Whatever did he dream of? Only he and he alone knew that. And then there was their father — Father, the all-knowing; Father, the almighty; Father, the eternal! He’d been the only one to bother voicing anything of interest through the whole of their travels. For good reason, obviously — did he not heed the word of the heavens themselves first-hand? He, and he alone, purveyed visions, prophecies that would bring their lands to salvation. If there was ever anybody worth listening to, it was him. It seemed he’d tried his absolute damndest to make the act of listening as difficult as it could possibly be, but regardless, she’d remained attentive. He spoke in hushed, jumbled tones, constantly pouring over plans, ideas, plots for their future reign, but she had still heeded them faithfully. Her siblings had doubtlessly seen her as foolish, but she was certain that if there were any way to her father’s love, this would have been it. This new land they had stumbled across was unlike any she had ever seen before. The earth was soft and shapeless, lacking true heft to it. She could toss it up with a single fell swoop of a forepaw. Any greenery was gapingly sparse, and the prey matched the greenery. How could a land so utterly devoid of life hold such a valuable target within it? Aside from the Salutary they’d gone out of their way to retrieve, she could sense a conglomeration towards the east. Multiple rogues had gathered here in hopes of being accepted into Ferus’s ranks, posing the inevitable question: why? She had heard tales of Ferus in Mortiul. They were simple-minded, washed-up has-beens according to Vivaldi, incapable of returning to the glory they’d once achieved. Whatever would respectable warriors want to do with that? Father had spoken of the blindness of outsiders before, how the corruption of their world had bastardized their sight. He’d instructed them to remain ever-patient when dealing with such dealing with such delicate matters. After all, they knew as well as any how to ensure that lost souls eventually saw light. It was simply a matter of time, patience, and most importantly of all, utterly devoted persistence. Soon enough, they were blessed with the presence of the salutary. He was impressively large, just as Father claimed; possessing a pair of prying silver eyes she felt certain would spot them if they stared too long. She stared, transfixed. It was the first wolf she’d ever seen outside of Mortiul and Ignasia. So this male was one of those so-called infidels, ignorant to their teachings and gospel. He didn’t seem like a savage at first glance, moving with a warrior’s grace. Next to him trotted a young adolescent, an almost yearling close in age with her and siblings. She was sweet-faced, notably alert and attentive to his every word. Perhaps a budding apprentice? Her youth fostered the possibility. Finally, perhaps the most interesting of these arrivals was a one-eyed she-wolf plump with pregnancy. She squinted. The male and female were closer than she’d initially suspected. Any semi-adequate guesser could assign the father. Her own had made the same observation, adjusting their plans to bring the Salutary’s mate along with them. Wonderful! Not only would she receive a chance to receive their blessings, but every life within her would as well. Adjetni was absolutely marvelous! Surely this was destiny working. Father promptly began delegating the tasks he had at hand. From Imset and Anubis, he demanded a mute hostage — a simple enough task in their eyes. Ever since the tournament, she’d noticed a sharp, apathetic callousness to them, a new coldness they’d hinted at but had never so effortlessly embodied. Such a task couldn’t be considered “work,” not to them, but rather pleasure; a rapturous joy attained only through flaying stray flesh. She didn’t understand — but then again, she’d no tangible desire to. Any delights attained through those means rested between them alone. Varuna, in the meanwhile, was instructed to serve as a small distraction, deterring the Alpha’s daughters from harm. Father was insinuating something insidious, something that she couldn’t quite completely know, but Varuna did. Father had always held a certain pride in him, claiming Adjetni himself had embedded his blessings within his pelt. For all his blessings, he seemed awfully gloomy to her, but perhaps it was all a matter of perspective. It wasn’t easy, after all, having such tremendous fate to fulfill. She’d always regarded her own training as brutal, but it was nothing, miniscule by all means in comparison to the condition that Father had inflicted. And finally, there was the matter of her task. She looked at him with every severed wisp of hope she could summon. Her chance had finally come in which she could prove to him that she was just as worthy of the title of “daughter,” every bit as capable of bringing Adjetni’s commands to fruition as any of her siblings. And she wouldn’t complain. She’d never fuss, not even once; forever dutiful, forever subservient, forever faithful. All she truly needed was this: this one fantastical opportunity, this one magnificent, rare moment to show that she had grown from a quaking runt. She was now literally and figuratively larger than life, far more powerful than any of the obscure fears she’d held. He’d changed her for the better, for the absolute best. Vivaldi had always forced her to perform at peak ability — true, he’d never come to witness a session, but she was certain he’d be pleased if he had. No, not pleased even: proud! Had Vivaldi not told her time and time again that pride was something to be earned? If anyone had struggled, if any had strived to please him, it had been her! She swiveled her ears forwards, looking at him tenderly, hopefully- And he commanded she stay right there at his side.
