Neon, green eyes watched Jay while she listened as the Alpha spoke after she introduced herself to him. His small nod had not gone unnoticed and Ketaki was quick to reciprocate with a small nod of her own. As she stepped back once more Spiras, the annoying, silver-backed wolf that was half of the problem here today, spoke with an infuriatingly, shallow apology. Useless, he was absolutely useless, that was what the female had already decided in her own mind, and the same words rang true for the other half of the problem here today, Diablo. Neither of them were worth the fur on their backs and she did not even try to hold back how she felt in her gaze as she glared at both of them respectively, though whether they could even tell they were the objects that her glares were directed at was iffy at best, her pupiless eyes sometimes made things like that hard to determine, but she knew, and she hoped that they knew as well. Ketaki's large frame once more began moving as the two wolves beside her did, Shale, the timid wolf who the Alpha had already tried to bolster to believe in himself. And, the other, a cream-colored wolf like herself, sporting the same shade on his back, though not as bright, more on the darker side, but still evident, and his was littered with black patches as well, whereas hers was strictly ginger. The tall, well-built female moved in beside this all too familiar looking male, unable to deny the familiarity he provided that helped to ease her into the temporary transition of being on trial in pack life. She stood five inches taller than him, and outweighed him by about forty pounds, but even despite the size differences she felt more at ease whenever she looked at him. So, with all that in mind, and still occasionally casting glares at Spiras and Diablo with simultaneous snarls, and also managing to give the others in the party curious glances catching whatever bit of information about them as she could, the female headed towards the commons with the all the other wolves. --Exit to Ferus Commons-- @achak Shale Alpha Jay Spiras @diablo Harley Yrene

It was finally time for some action, and Anubis was more than excited to shed just the smallest amount of blood. Looking to her twin, she moved with her as they made their way to the southern border. The lands were very different from Ignasia soil. Tainted with wolves that were unworthy of mercy. Adjetni would think so as well, or at least, that’s what Anubis thought. She was not as connected with their lord as her sister was, that had been one of the dominant factors ruling over Anubis for awhile. While she could kill and resight rituals like no other, the connection was faint, and there was hardly anything for her to grasp onto when she could only see Adjetni in her dreams, while her sister almost seemed to walk alongside him constantly. Jealousy would have reared its head long ago if Anubis knew exactly how that felt. But she could never feel any sort of hatred for her sister. Her other siblings? They could die and she’d feel nothing. Imset? She would give her life for. They finally were met with something that spurred Anubis’ bloodlust into overdrive. The scent that washed over her nostrils tugged them forward, both gracefully heading to where the scent was coming from. It was a Ferus wolf no doubt, and she listened to what her sister had to say on the matter. The smallest nod came from her twin’s direction and she simply listened to what Imset had to say, a flick of the ear indicating that she was indeed listening. Looking over towards the she-wolf, she almost wanted to laugh. The she-wolf standing there was not so much muscle, but it seemed that she hadn’t worked a day in her life. The meat that was on her bones looked to be fattier and fleshier than the muscles that rippled under her and Imset’s pelts. It was comical that Ferus housed a wolf like this, that they would keep a wolf like this. They were said to be a tougher pack than most, and she doubted that with one look at this wolf. They were harboring weaklings, and a pack like that obviously didn’t need a Salutary. Much less pups. They moved forward, and the she-wolf had hardly noticed them until he was too late. Snapping forward, Anubis’ heart was racing with adrenaline as she snatched onto the she-wolf’s leg, biting down a bit too hard as she latched on. She was floored in no time, a silent cackle leaving Anubis maw as she watched the stranger. Imset’s paw was on the captive’s throat and Anubis growled as she wanted to tear into that face. The wide eyed, terrified look all the more pleasing to the eye. Her windpipe slowly being crushed so that she could hardly breathe, let alone call for help. They didn’t need that and Anubis would kill her before she had the chance to alert anyone that they were here. This plan was flawless until she had come along, why let her ruin it. She wanted to show Father and that bastard Alpha of Mortiul that they could do anything, that they were superior in every way to the others. Her sister’s words were much more elegant and cunning than Anubis’ ever could be. Imset’s diabolical actions only spurred Anubis on, a sultry whine coming from the back of her throat as she looked at the blood that was slowly ebbing its way out from the wound. Imset finally moved away, and it was Anubis’ time to shine. Vocal chords were such fickle things, being too close to the jugular, but Anubis made quick work to wrap her teeth around the delicate place they were located. She would more than likely bleed on, simply because it was much too messy for her to pull each vocal cord out. Slicing into the skin with her teeth, she brought her paw to pull away the skin, blood flowing from the wound as she quickly licked it up, savoring the taste as she dug into where she believed they were. Ripping them out, she looked down to the she-wolf who’s maw was agape with horror, the scream that was supposed to come being nothing more than a silent cry for help. It was done. The she-wolf was still bleeding, but there was nothing to stop that. Instead, Anubis took a twist of her head as she looked down to the she-wolves’ face. “I’ll be taking a little gift of my own,” She spoke through a growl as she pressed down on the wound, causing the she-wolf to open her mouth even more. Making quick work, the flopping muscle was on the ground, the pain that washed through the other’s body having no sound. Oh how Anubis would have loved to hear her scream. But now was not the time. Taking the tongue, she decided that she would put it somewhere safe to retrieve it later, and looked to her sister, waiting for the next command. They were to take this wolf to the others, to use her as leverage. Hopefully it would work. But Anubis hoped it wouldn’t. More blood, that’s what she wanted, and she would get it if this hostage was not enough to convince their targets. Apprentice Imset @koga Apprentice Varuna @tiny IT HAS BEEN DONE

He’d already known that his daughters would never disappoint him. They’d picked their target perfectly. There was the sharp, poignant scent of spilled blood, but that was unavoidable. It was only noticeable to somebody actively searching for it — and, given the suddenly ebbing scents at the borders — their main concerns were contracting into their ideal position. Nobody would ever bother hunting them down, not now, when there was such perfectly sweet naivety to drain from their fresh-faced newcomers. Ferus, ironically, for all its boasts of bravery and discipline, indulged in the same pathetic, mush-brained pleasures of any other pack; most prominently, hazing. They wouldn’t miss an opportunity as rare as this one to pursue such a soft, fleeting scent. Anubis and Imset had timed it terrifically, returning without attracting even a hint of unwanted attention. However, would he ever have expected anything different? Imset took immeasurable pride in fulfilling the sacred, the foretold, the divine, and would stop at nothing to ensure that was predicted to come to pass would. Anubis, on the other hand, didn’t quite share her sister’s pure-hearted intentions, but regardless, the end result was the same. They’d succeeded. The hostage they’d captured was a soft, flimsy warrior she-wolf, their handiwork dyeing her copper throat crimson. Cream jaws contorted in pain as blood gushed from the place where her tongue had been — what good, clever girls, to be taking double precautions! He couldn’t have been more pleased. “Poor darling,” He crooned, stepping closer to examine this high-near corpse, barely clinging to the fringes of life. So this was one of the mighty warriors of Ferus. Mighty only in name, it seemed. This she-wolf, a full-grown adult, had a physique no better than that of Beelzebub’s offspring, something that’d make a much better meal than match. It was no surprise they’d managed to best her in such a short period of time. It was quite a miracle it wasn’t sooner. Although their cuts were often clean, this one looked as though it’d been originally carved onto a cold, limp corpse, missing the muddled, chaotic mess of a struggle. “Ferus wolves used to boast of the best in everything: in sparring, in hunting, in battle. Behold,” He sneered, carelessly swinging a sorrel limb into their incapacitated prisoner’s side. “The best the pack lands have to offer. Never fear such fools. It has already been decided that when the time is right, we will slaughter them like cattle.” Sanguine eyes seared at the prospect. Already, they’d claimed the lives of — how many was it even? Five Ferus wolves? Soon to be seven, once they had the Salutary and his mate in their grasp. Now that they had their hostage, it would be a simple task. “Listen closely. Ferus wolves have pride, but little sense. All of you are to remain silent unless I tell you otherwise.” He turned his head towards the targets, nodding in thought. “Imset and I will approach them first with the hostage. Hold her so that her gashes can be clearly seen. Meanwhile, Anubis, Ky, and Tiny are to surround them on all sides. The only wolf I will allow to escape is the salutary apprentice. However, if she doesn’t even dare attempt escaping, I’ll have no qualms against seizing a third captive as well. As Imset and I start to relay our terms, gradually close in. If they immediately comply, that’ll be the end of it. We’ll escort the male back to Mortiul and keep his mate captive. However,” He purred, his voice taking a more notably malicious tone. “Ferus wolves are rarely so perfectly simple. There’s a good chance they’ll challenge the bluff, in which case, Imset and Anubis are to immediately execute —frankly, whatever this is,” He sneered. “Give them a good view and great show. Tiny will go for the salutary’s mate. Secure her well. As I address the Salutary, I would like him to be driven closer. You may also entertain yourselves,” He remarked, candidly regarding the she wolf. “Nothing permanent, but shake her spirit. I’d love to see her cry.” Their plans were proclaimed and laid out. Warily, he waited for his wolves to assemble into the instructed positions. Now, it was only a matter of waiting and watching. Minutes passed. Momentarily, the mated pair turned their backs. Now was the time! He rose, slipping forwards silently on thick ochre paws until he could easily catch a wagging tail. For a moment, he considered doing so. He decided against it — best to be patient and wait for the delights in store. “I’m quite disappointed to be frank,” Koga remarked haplessly, as though he’d every right in the world to be there. “I thought it would pose a much greater challenge than this. Never mind that though. You are the salutary of Ferus, yes? And this must be your mate,” He purred, his posture candidly, perfectly relaxed. “Lovely girl you’ve got there. Don’t worry; I’ll make these matters quick. I’ve been instructed to bring the two of you back to my land at all costs. Rather than delve into dry back-and-forth drivel, I’ve decided to make your decision a delightfully simple one. She,” He dipped his muzzle towards Imset, a silent order for her to drop the dying she-wolf. “Will be executed in minutes, but not to worry. Her life can still be won back with your cooperation. The decision’s yours.” Tagged: Apprentice Anubis Apprentice Imset Beta Ky Salutary Solex Hunter Aspen @miyu

There was nothing more satisfying than watching her darling twin sister carve her mark upon her victims—and this instance was no different. With the Ferus bitch's ear gripped tightly within her thirsty maw, Imset revelled as she tipped the female's head backwards to expose the throbbing vocals that twitched with every pathetic whining plea. That beautiful sight was soon demolished, replaced with a glistening slab of exposed tendons while the blood she considered a delicacy dribbled down the wench's front, a torturously slow trickle compared to the pool that had formed like a blossoming flower beneath the corpse of her first pelt-less victim. Her eyes shifted, the inferno of her iris glowing as she inspected the quality of the pelt that lay before her. Imset almost purred at the thought of adding to her collection, a prize to remember yet another spoil snatched from the Ferus borders, a reminder that Adjetni gifted her thirst in such generous ways. Besides, her sister had taken a token for herself, and Adjetni would only be too proud to watch her flay an infidel, a punishment to endure as they rasped through their last desperate breaths. Once Anubis had finished fishing the tongue from it's place within the Ferus bitch's maw, Imset snatched the girl by her scruff and hauled her up onto weak paws, her frame trembling with a delicious mix of shock and adrenaline as she was practically dragged along the border of her own pack. The gargling noises of blood pooling at the back of their victim's throat was a sweet serenade for the twins as they marched back to their father, a proud grin stretching across Imset's maw as she dumped the pathetic thing in front of Koga. “Poor darling, Ferus wolves used to boast of the best in everything: in sparring, in hunting, in battle. Behold, the best the pack lands have to offer. Never fear such fools. It has already been decided that when the time is right, we will slaughter them like cattle.” An amused sneer crossed her face as she shifted her weight from paw to paw, all too eager to sink her teeth into the Salutary and his mare, the gifts promised by their Lord. But all good things came with time, a truth that Imset despised. At least her father would use this allotment of time to discuss their wickedly holy plans. “Listen closely," and things were spurred into action. A few measly minutes passed—though to Imset, they felt more like hours—before the brutish Salutary and his damsel put themselves in a desirable position. A thirsty grin pressed it's way onto her lips before she grabbed the wheezing sack of useless Ferus meat that had been slowly decaying at her paws, yanking the she-wolf onto her trembling legs and following quickly after her father, making sure to keep their captive's head held back in order to give a beautiful view of the careful work they had inflicted against her throat. Standing in front of the pair, Imset's sights were immediately set on the swollen belly of the bitch, the carnelian beauties glimmering as she heard whispers between her ears of ripe pups perfect to be picked. “I’m quite disappointed to be frank,” the female shifted her focus away from that enticing womb, setting her blazing sights on the intimidating stature of the ebony male instead. “I thought it would pose a much greater challenge than this. Never mind that though. You are the salutary of Ferus, yes? And this must be your mate, lovely girl you’ve got there. Don’t worry; I’ll make these matters quick. I’ve been instructed to bring the two of you back to my land at all costs. Rather than delve into dry back-and-forth drivel, I’ve decided to make your decision a delightfully simple one. She,” with the nod of her father's head, Imset dropped the rattling body to the ground, a choked gargle springing from the ruined she-wolf's maw as she lay practically limp against the dry Ferus floor. “Will be executed in minutes, but not to worry. Her life can still be won back with your cooperation. The decision’s yours.” A large part of her subconscious begged the Salutary to refuse in his compliance, her tongue twitching against the roof of her mouth in a desperate plea. Oh but how fun would it be to hold her in place and watch the horror of their petty faces as Anubis swooped in and removed their hostage's throat in the way she managed to make look like an art form. Those fiery voices danced between her ears, delighting in the terrifying thoughts that brought them so much joy.

| His side simply wasn't eventful enough. It didn't have enough blood. While His children had all the fun ripping and tearing and permeating the air with distanced screaming and metallic alcohol, Ky was sewn to his master's side in unwavering obedience. But he was antsy. His claws dug into the dirt incessantly as the promise of blood lay dormant on his tongue but ever so close to his reach. How lovingly cruel He was to leave the midnight beast in limbo for so long. To tease him with the quest and the blood His children would shed for months and now to keep him on the sidelines?
As they approached the blubbering mess of a meal that the children had deposited at His feet, the word 'slaughter' only set the male off further, a braying cackle leaving the male at the thought of sinking his fangs into flesh finally, once more. The whimpering bitch had no chance, and Ky was going to relish in the blood that flowed down his throat once she was dead. With His newest commands ringing clear in the Beta's ears, the hulking male set out to follow them to a tee.
After a few minutes, the perfect moment struck for the assailants to leap from their cover. The Beta screamed as he erupted from the shadows, rage-filled empty eyes trailed solely on the youngest of the Ferus wolves. His only job was to make her run, or to trap her. The last she-wolf he'd trapped at these borders he'd ended up disemboweling for His pleasure. Perhaps this time would be no different. He desperately hoped not. For too long the scent of blood had invaded his mind without its sweet flavor hitting his tongue. Lashing out at the fleeing teen, his fangs caught her flank only lightly. They raked through a thin layer of muscle. It was a dreadfully light injury, something that a newborn pup could inflict. Nothing to be proud of! Nothing that would leave that long lasting of a scar! Ky lashed out again, but with His orders ringing clear in his ears, the inky beast halted himself from going any further after the she-wolf.
The tiny amount of blood staining his teeth barely sated the crazed male. Like a starving coyote, Ky ran his tongue over his teeth and lips, over and over, making sure that every possible drop of blood hit his tongue and wasn't wasted in the dirt. Trailing back a few paces with his nose to the ground, Ky searched for any stray splatters that he may have missed. He was completely willing to end up eating dirt if it meant that only a few morsels of his poison met his mouth. Without finding anything, his crazed, panting, face turned to His business, hoping that the Salutary and his mate would struggle so that he could watch, maybe even participate, in ripping the bitch to shreds.

Lump stuck in her throat, Mira glanced nervously in the Alpha's direction. All she managed to grasp from his reaction was the cold, hard, stern face he held. Unlike the others, he said nothing to her. She hung her head in shame, trying her very best not to tremble like weakling. Perhaps she had been way too soft with her words. If only she could take them back, and sound tougher like the others. After everyone had opened their maws, the Alpha only seemed impressed by the two other females, the yearling and the one with quit the fight in her. As for the two other towering males, the Alpha only seemed irked by them. What were the chances the others would be granted access to the territory before them? The ebony female felt her heart sink and her tail drooped, crestfallen. The moment she had been waiting for, and she had failed. So, when the Alpha spoke again, Mira braced herself for the worst. “It is never guaranteed that you stay in Ferus, but you will all follow me to the Commons for further evaluation." Stunned, Mira jerked her head up, a hopeful spark in her eyes. He didn't just reject the others, but gave them another chance - and she knew that this time she could prove herself worthy. With a swish of her tail, Mira padded along with the others, relieved, excited and anxious about the mysterious challenge awaiting them. Iylah found herself enjoying the whole ordeal. She wouldn't know why if asked, but deep down the thrill of stading tall alongside her siblings against a threat gave her a feeling of safety, and true brotherhood. One that on her own, she could not achieve. Sooner than later though, Jay was done listening to all the rogues motivations for wanting to join his pack, and he rightfully commanded all of the wolves present to follow his lead back into the common grounds. Iylah started moving towards the big group, it would surely be fun to see her parents judging who was fit to enter their ranks. Hell, maybe she'd catch a glimpse of some alpha wanna-be getting his ass kicked, or something cool along the lines. Suddenly, a scent broke through her nostrils, someone had made it to the outskirts a little too late. "Even more rogues?" asked Iylah, to nobody in particular. "Dad?" she questioned her father for further instruction on what to do, but upon turning her head around she realized their father, alongside the potential recruits were already far away from her current position. Only ones still there were her brother, Natsu, and herself. It wasn't long before the source of that smell made herself appear, followed by four more others. Instinctively, Iylah took a defensive position, as the young and confident looking female stepped forwards. "Hello," she greeted, calmly speaking to the hunter and scout from Ferus. "You may not know me or my siblings, but we've come for a purpose,". The she wolf took a glance at her brother, who was probably just as puzzled as she was. We’ve good reason to believe our father presently resides in Ferus. Does a wolf by the name Flint live here?” the stranger asked. "Uhh..." pondered Iylah, unsure of what to say or do. "No-Wait, who's asking?" asked the she-wolf, clearly confused. "Who are you guys? And what are you doing at our territory?" the scout questioned, trying to put in practice her father's teachings.

P U P J I R O U O F F E R U S
Jirou had grown exhausted over their trip. The abandonment of their mother taking a toll on him he wouldn't have expected if he had tried to guess his reaction. He was sleepless, and worried, and overall anxious. The loss of their parent, in a world practically unknown to the litter, set his heart into fits of anguish and pessimism. So when they reached the fabled borders of their father, stories only told by their mother, he was grateful for Priya's step forward to conducting themselves with the pack wolves.
Looking at them, they looked only a little older than themselves but held confidence that was gained through more experience than those around them had. The main experience he had gained in their travels was learning how to be vigilant, as that was most of the reason for his sleepless nights. Whenever they rested, he refused to sleep in favor of keeping watch over them. Whenever they rested he would be up, never taking a moment for himself.
“Hello, You may not know me or my siblings,” The calmness in her voice quelled most his anxiety in approaching the yearlings in front of them. “But we’ve come for a purpose. We’ve good reason to believe our father presently resides in Ferus. Does a wolf by the name Flint live here?” Jirous couldn't help but smile at her directness of their visit, looking to her side-ways with gratitude.
"Uhh..." The first response was one that Jirou wasn't expecting, there was hesitation. Even an inexperienced half-year could pick up on that. "No-Wait, who's asking? Who are you guys? And what are you doing at our territory?" The questions she answered next held confidence. Maybe she had not been at this long, but she knew what to do; at least what to ask.
Stepping forward next to his darker pelted sibling, he would answer now. Hoping that showing that they were all calm, and not just her, would make them feel more at ease?
"My name is Jirou, this is Priya, my sister, the others are our siblings as well, Nikolai, Lali, and Nivaan," he hoped the others would nod when introduced, as that would be kindest way to begin the introductions. "We have come to your borders respectfully looking for Flint," he stopped to side-glance one last time at Priya for confirmation before going on, "our Father."

The young male followed his siblings as they walked. They had been traveling for some time now, and Nivaan had almost stayed quiet the entire time, only giving input when it was needed. He was sure that Priya had everything under control, and so with that, he left most of the decisions up to her. They came upon a foreign scent, one where many wolves were mixed in together. The young wolf looked around, eyes scanning the territory around him as he watched. Lali was right beside him, a pip in her step as always as they came onto the borders of the pack that their father was rumored to be in. They approached two young wolves, about the same age as they were. One was black with a hint of white, while the other was an oaken color, a male and female respectively. His eyes looked towards the female, wondering what she was about. Nivaan had only been around his sisters and mother, so a she-wolf that was not part of his family was interesting to say the least. Priya spoke first, and then Jirou, introducing them all by name. He gave a dip of his head as his name was spoken, and he waited patiently for the pack wolves to speak on whether or not they would be allowed to come across the borders. @priya Pup Jirou Lali @nikolai Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah

Lali was by Nivaan as they approached, the small she-wolf having a smile on her face as she hummed contently. She hadn’t moved from his side simply because he was the quieter of the group, so she could talk with him and he would just nod. She was sure that everyone else didn’t mind her optimism, but he didn’t seem to mind at all when it came to her talking about a flower she found, or a bee that fluttered by looking for a flower. They had finally reached their destination, and Lali’s ears perked, set forward as the two other wolves seem to question them on who they were. Lali gave a small wag of her tail as her name was mentioned, knowing that her siblings would be able to handle the talking for right now. She brought herself to stand besides Priya, brushing her fur against her obsidian colored sister as eyes were trained on the two, a smile on her face. @priya Pup Jirou Nivaan @nikolai Hunter Natsu Scout Iylah

Natsu looked towards Aislynn as she was quick to reply to him. He knew that his sister would not be fond of him standing up for them, but Natsu hardly cared. He didn’t like how the male was looking at his sisters, and he was going to let him know. A rogue at the borders should not be checking out the Alpha’s children right in front of him. Aislynn was soon to depart, not gaining their father’s permission in any way before she just took off. The young male was a bit annoyed by this, but he suppressed it, instead turning his attention to Iylah who also made a comment. Humor was written all over his face as he looked to his younger sister. She definitely was the mediator for most situations, and he was glad she was. Natsu and Aislynn could butt heads all they wanted, but Iylah was always there to stop them. After that, they both fell silent as his father spoke, harsh words flowing from his mouth. It was something Natsu was used to. In Ferus if you couldn’t handle harsh words, your life would be short lived. The entire pack was based around harsh climates and wolves that would need to be able to live in them. If one couldn’t handle one harsh word, they would die before they got to the commons from the borders. As his father stated that Aislynn would make it back to them in the Commons, Natsu hung back for just a moment. Although his sister was the cause of most of their fights, he still wanted to make sure that she was okay. With everything that had happened in Ferus, including what he had heard happened at the borders so long ago before he was born, he knew that they couldn’t be out here alone. Watching the rogues as they all followed his father, Iylah stayed with him. But their time alone was short lived as he heard more voices and pawsteps. Turning his cranium, his bi-colored eyes locked onto a black wolf who had a mix of colors following her. She asked about a wolf named Flint, and he tilted his head only slightly. He had heard of the male from his father saying that he was out on a mission to investigate why what had happened at the borders, had happened. But other than that he had never actually seen the male. Another stepped forward after that, bringing forth names. He had never heard of Flint having children, so he wondered if what they said was true. Natsu would not be able to tell however, as he had never seen the male in person, instead only heard of him through his father and mother. As they all sat there waiting for him to speak, he realized they were all looking towards him. Natsu had always taken charge when it came to situations such as these, but he wasn’t sure what his father would think if he brought back a whole gaggle of wolves. “If you will follow me, my father will be able to better assist you than I can. I have never seen this Flint you speak of, but he has,” He spoke. “He will judge whether or not you’re speaking the truth,” Natsu flicked his tail before turning himself away, heading back to the commons like they should have done with their father. -Exit- @priya Pup Jirou Lali Nivaan @nikolai Scout Iylah

What Priya had assumed to be the sister regarded her and her siblings with nothing short of absolute confusion — which could be understandable, she supposed, but she had just explained that they were in search of their father. Why then would she ask why they’d come? Perhaps the puce she-wolf was new to the task and gradually adjusting, still learning the best means to maneuver an answer. Jirou slipped by her side with seamless grace, ready to shine. Each of her siblings was introduced accordingly, with a soft dip of her onyx head revealing her own name in time. Introductions were tepid, simple tasks, but Jirou had always boasted a beautifully smooth voice and fantastical wit. Most, when meeting him, were charmed within moments — a talent that’d pose particularly useful at the moment. Nivaan waited silently, with a gleaning, analytical gaze. He was thinking, as he always did. Lali, on the other hands, twitched her tail and bore as brilliant a smile as ever, as she always did. Priya swallowed, straightening her stance. She hoped the black male at the borders would have a hazed idea of what to do, for all of their sakes. If you will follow me,” The black male began thoughtfully. “My father will be able to better assist you than I can.” Alpha Jay — so he too was more than their mother’s legends. “I have never seen this Flint you speak of, but he has. He will judge whether or not you’re speaking the truth.” With that, he and his sister turned on their heels, presumably back towards the common grounds. Priya’s gait wavered. Even though she’d expected nothing at all, there was a deep, brewing disappoint in knowing their father would not be there. Even here, in his lands — Flint, Father, — remained little more than a name. Still, it seemed they all had a new life ahead of them in this desert. “Well,” she began softly, taking the first step forwards. “You heard him. Up and at ‘em now.”

Almost as soon as she asked, one of the younglings walked forwards. A brown male, by the name of Jirou, presented himself and his siblings. As each of their names were mentioned, the pups gave either little nods or made small movements, like acknowledging their respective denominations. Maybe it was their age or their calm and respectful attitude, but Iylah could not help but to sympathize with the small strangers. One of them, who apparently responded to the name "Nivaan", constantly looked at her, thing that would have startled the she-wolf were this done by any other, but his eyes radiated such curiosity, such innocence, that she could not help but to smile and wink at the boy. "We have come to your borders respectfully looking for Flint, our father," Jirou explained. The scout raised an eyebrow at this and pondered. Flint...Flint. Repeating that name over and over in her head, trying to remember who it belonged to. The she-wolf was sure she had heard it before, but could not exactly tell when or by whom. Natsu however, seemed to know something. The male took over the situation, as per usual, stating that Jay would have the answers that he did not. With that, the hunter turned his back on the group of newcomers, and started walking towards the common grounds. Iylah stayed behind, just to check on the small pack of pups that had stumbled on their way. Some of them sported jovial and curious expressions, which led the she-wolf from Ferus to believe they were just what they looked like. Imset and Anubis had never once managed to disappoint Father. A miraculous achievement in of itself, but their latest and greatest victory only assured their position as his anointed. Tiny stared, transfixed; hesitantly taking a step forwards to examine their captive. So this was the best Ferus boasted — a soft-bodied, quivering she-wolf that bore neither the body nor the strength of a dedicated warrior. Why, Beelzebub’s children, in all their apathy, had managed to maintain better physiques! It had to have been an easy, borderline effortless catch. In fact, it appeared to have been so beautifully simple that they’d managed to somehow, incredulously, take both pieces of their father’s advice; ripping out both the she-wolf’s tongue and the vocal chords. Then again, they’d always been overachievers. Adjetni would tolerate nothing less than the best a wolf had to offer. To devote anything less was blasphemous. Her lip curled in callous disdain as she regarded the it that lay before her. Creatures like this had no idea of what it meant to devote, to serve, to live; preferring soft lives of laziness, gluttony, and monotony. It only made the purpose of their mission all the more important. Perhaps, in the pressing future, poor beings like this could be converted to the true path, rather than executed. The tasks were delegated. Tiny rose, warily eyeing their trio of targets. There was the possibility of a challenge, yet — why, surely no wolf could be so callous as to gamble on their packmates’ life? Loyalty was a central Ferus value, or so her father had claimed. Father simply fussed too much. His mind, as brilliant as it was, had too many thoughts, too many possibilities airily floating about to give proper weight to each and every one. This would be simple — had the hardest parts of the mission not already been handled? Father was quick to trust on wolves’ worst natures, but she’d a swelling hope; a rare, adamant optimism that they’d witness the sole good this horrid land had to offer. Once they were in position, her father began his spiel. He was manipulative, perhaps more obviously than before, but he remained succinct. The option lay before them, brilliantly clear. Would they save their dying packmate’s life? Would they whimper and plead and promise to her tenderly that all would be alright? Would they weep for her? Tiny scanned their faces, scrounging for something, anything resembling empathy or horror for their friend’s fate, but found at the best — Disdain — there was nothing vaguely resembling sorrow in those eyes. Perhaps this was the sort of thing she had assigned too much weight too. She had a habit of doing that, didn’t she? And still, as she watched, she felt something akin to rage boiling deep within her. Infidels were truly just as callous, just as savage as Father had foretold. Indifference could have been excusable, perhaps to a state of shock and terror — but this was inexcusable. How could one claim they prided themselves on loyalty, unity, undividable devotion, and then in the same breath regard their packmates’ execution as little more than mild inconvenience? It was horrid, it was cruel, it was vile. A new clarity dawned upon her. This was just what Father wished to purge from their world. She understood now why it had to be done. Not for Adjetni, not for their gospel, not even for Father’s sake himself, but rather for the simple, indisputable fact that their world could not continue to go on in this manner. The she-wolf, that swollen, one-eyed sadist didn’t so much as bat her sole lid. The corners of her onyx maw tightened at the edges, the only sign of emotion, and that according to all Tiny’s experiences was nothing short of absolute contempt. How dare she! As they slaughtered their captive, she paced seamlessly forward, wholly fixated on her ornery target. One, two, three steps paired besides a buoyant spring off her hind-legs, hips swiveled, foreclaws extended firmly — and she’d miraculously secured the miserable creature beneath her. A fine array of snarls and snaps peppered the air, targeted vehemently towards her ears and muzzle; both of which her height had ensured would remain out of reach. She may have looked quite look a demon at first glance, flying with a furrowed, angered snarl, but this was justified. Callously, she curled her claws deeper into thick ivory fur, slamming the she-wolf firmly onto her back. “Silence,” She hissed, shoving her face centimeters from the creature’s face, scarred by war, marred by rage. “Filthy vessel,” She spat, sweeping a sorrel tail against the she-wolf’s bulging belly. “Must you insist on producing more damned? Shut up.” She insisted, soft haunches furrowing. “For the love of all that is good and holy, shut your yapping maw. And if you’ve even so much as a single inkling of what is good for you and your bastards, you will stop resisting and humbly accept the fate you and your mate have afflicted on yourselves.”

The male had yet to say anything of particular interest — which in Aislynn’s humble opinion, simply would not do. “You’ve got some nerve on you, I’ll give you that.” She quipped slyly, tossing a tousled head over her shoulder. Now this was a pleasing surprise! Initially, she’d dismissed the yearling stranger without so much as a second look, but this—! She’d never seen a wolf with such a gleaming, stark gaze; one eye black as night, the other perfect white. She stared inquisitively for a moment, tilting a tawny head in wonder. “Who are you?” She asked softly, breathlessly. Apprentice Varuna
