| Luke looked to his Beta with pride and a warm feeling rose within his stomach at the sight of her. She was ready to start the day as always, and he admired her for that. It seemed that along with her presence, came other wolves that would sprout from their dens to join in the commons for the early morning wait of chores and things that needed to be done for the pack. Since it was winter, and they had pups, hunting was particularly crucial considering they had many mouths to feed. Looking towards Tamlin, Hoshi and Zachariah, he wondered if Hoshi would need help collecting herbs this morning, or if he could send the yearling as well as the warrior on a hunt with a couple other wolves. He would ask Hoshi if she would need the yearling's help this morning, but giving him a task such as hunting would keep his mind off of the death he had witnessed two months ago. The poor male had lost his siblings and mother in the record of a couple months, all mysteriously disappearing or dying. It was how the world worked, but for wolves so young, he wondered if there was a different underlying problem, something that maybe Luke hadn't been aware of. But that was not something he could find out right now, especially with his pups needing protection from the cold grasp of winter. Looking to Wren as she asked what needed to be done, he pondered a second before he laid out the ideas that were swimming through his mind.
"Hunting needs to be done today, I was thinking I could send Zachariah, Ozmond, Tamlin, Aili and Ater off to hunt," He said, knowing that a couple wolves in question were not around. "Aili and Tamlin need the hunting practice after all," He concluded the hunting tasks for the morning, and he would return once more to a pressing thought. A scent at the borders. He had caught it during some of his early morning patrols in the recent week, and he knew that maybe a wolf was venturing around their borders, possibly looking for a pack to settle down in. He had always been pulled away as soon as he started following the trail, needed back at the camp for some reason or another. But this morning, he wanted to take Wren with him and investigate if there was really a wolf at the borders waiting for them. During the hunt, he was sure they potentially howled, but through the adrenaline and happiness that seized him during the time his siblings were here, he had forgotten whether or not he had actually heard something. "You and I will be heading to the borders, I have been out there a couple times to find that there is potentially a wolf scouting our borders, waiting to be approached, or trying to spy. I would like you to accompany me out there, just in case its a trap of some sort," He said, looking towards her. Giving a flick of his tail, he would turn to walk towards Zachariah and Tamlin, the two having started a conversation.
"I don't mean to interrupt, but Wren and I will be departing to the borders momentarily to handle some business that needs our attention. I want you, Zachariah, to organize a hunting party with Tamlin that consists of Ozmond, Aili and Ater. As soon as the others are awake and ready to go I expect there to be hunting done. Hoshi, if you would please check on Seven and make sure that she is doing well, I would appreciate that," He stated, looking to the Salutary with a softer expression than he held with the other two males. Giving a flick of his tail, he dismissed himself from the conversation and headed towards where the common grounds' main path to the borders started. Waiting for Wren to join him, he would depart as soon as she was ready to go, albeit walking a little too closely to her flank.

WORK CAN BE FUN IF YOU LAUGH A LITTLE
Amber eyes took in the pondering specimen before her, the slight pause between her words and his allowing her condensed breath to disappear in the morning. "Hunting needs to be done today, I was thinking I could send Zachariah, Ozmond, Tamlin, Aili and Ater off to hunt. Aili and Tamlin need the hunting practice after all," the first of Luke's plans seemed to follow a general idea that the huntress had in mind. Since becoming Beta, Wren hadn't had to chance to go on nearly as many hunts as she used to. Instead, she spent more of her time with Luke trying to sort how the pack would run, especially with vulnerable pups needing warmth and food. The alabaster yearling was another concern of the Beta. Tamlin had receded into himself, showing no interest in leaving the pack, but also drawing away from its members. At the least, he participated in pack activities without complaining, the jobs he was given seeming to give him more purpose than socializing did. With one plan out of the way, the Beta nodded towards Luke, her bright smile not fading as he carried on with his plans for the day.
"You and I will be heading to the borders, I have been out there a couple times to find that there is potentially a wolf scouting our borders, waiting to be approached, or trying to spy. I would like you to accompany me out there, just in case its a trap of some sort," the second and seemingly final instructions left Luke's mouth, addressing something that Wren had been curious about for a fair amount of time. There had originally been two or three scents, but over time, only one remained, the odd scent of flowers permeating the borders unacknowledged. It was about time that someone, even better, the pair of superiors, travelled to the borders to meet with this persistent rogue. The blanketed Beta hummed in agreement, not needing to use words to convey her agreement with the male's words.
As the objectively handsome male moved towards the group of awake packmates, Wren only stepped a few feet closer. He was so confident in his movements and words, so reassured that the pack respected him as their Alpha. Wren couldn't help but feel a bit awkward in her new role. The back of her mind always prickled with the possibility that the wolves around her would only view her as the happy-go-lucky hunter rather than a Beta who was serious about her job. However, she wasn't about to disappoint Luke by being unable to stand as a superior when there were only two. It would kill her to let the russet male down after everything that both he and Noctis had survived through. With a determined grin on her face, Wren fell in to step with Luke after he finished addressing the trio of wolves. The distance between the two was comfortable, some of the two longest lasting members of Noctis not finding any awkwardness in the slight contact between their fur tips. If anything, the pair could have walked closer had either of them moved to.

After lying on his belly for awhile, Tamlin finally pushed himself up in an upright sitting position. "Morning. I'm waiting. Waiting for something to happen, to be told something to do, for the day to start. What else is there to do, hm?" Hoshi eyed him skeptically. There was probably more to that, for it seemed that he was spying on Luke and Wren from a distance. Putting that aside, maybe Tamlin and Zachariah could help her with collecting some herbs. Before the salutary could open her mouth to ask, Luke walked over, followed by the newly-assigned beta, Wren. The alpha had other plans for the two males - a hunting party to be organised. For a wolf that favours wisdom over brute strength, hunting had never been Hoshi's forte, and she wasn't surprised to have different orders from the kid and the warrior. The tawny male towering above Hoshi now turned to her: "Hoshi, if you would please check on Seven and make sure that she is doing well, I would appreciate that." "Right away, sir." she replied without any hesitations. Turning to the others, she chirped: "See ya Warrior, Tamlin, Wre-" She caught herself just in time, suddenly remembering Wren's new position. She tipped her head in a little bow at Wren, likewise for Luke, before making her exit. Boy, she still wasn't used to knowing Wren as the second-in-command. She was usually seen as the jolly, carefree hunter. Making her way towards Seven's den, Hoshi's thoughts slowly drifted to the alpha pair. No, now Seven is no longer known as the Alphess, but an omega. Her sudden demotion came as quite a shock for the salutary. What exactly happened remained a mystery. Maybe they had a disagreement, a love falling out or something. They both still cared enough to bring their pups up together, just that they didn't seem to love each other as much as they used to. The duo now both slept in separate dens, and one of the two was drawing nearer as Hoshi approached it. Luke might not be that interested in Seven anymore, but he still cared for her enough to send someone to check on her. The crunching of snow beneath her paws came to a halt as soon as she stopped right in front of Seven's den. "Good morning, Seven."Tags: @seven Alpha Luke Alphess Wren Warrior Tamlin Paladin Zachariah

When Wren had been promoted, Aili was holding her breath, a small tinge of not jealousy but fear of jealousy rising up in her throat. When Wren had been promoted to Beta, she released her breath in a long exhale, grateful. But when she had been promoted to Hunting Superior, her heart seemed to drop, landing on her rib cage and inducing pain in her chest. Of course Aili was happy for, well, the closest thing she had to a friend in this pack. Wren deserved to be a superior, and obviously worked well in a team. And although Aili’s age made it near impossible for her to become anything of a high rank, she still felt jealousy over her friend who rose so high while Aili seemed to stay at the bottom, barely thought of. Though she feels this way inside, she maintains a small smile, not wanting people to know of her inner emotions, feeling as though they were dirty and secret. ”Hunting needs to be done today, I was thinking I could send Zachariah, Ozmond, Tamlin, Aili and Ater off to hunt. Aili and Tamlin need the practice after all.”Aili holds back a small growl, stomach twisting and teeth invisibly grinding, trying to keep herself as neutral looking as possible, though a resting bitch face ever so permanently placed itself on her. Perhaps she was just conceited but hearing those words made her mad, that she was thought of as the one who needed work, the one who wasn’t valued or thought of in high regards. Shaking her head hard, she tries to dislodge these thoughts, her mood already turning sour, though that was quite easy for the she-wolf who increasingly disliked life in Noctis. After all, Wren really was her only personal tie to Noctis. At least she was hunting at all, she supposed. She found herself controlling and focusing on her breathing, distracting her from thoughts that soured her mood. She walked over to Zachariah, who it seemed would be conducting the plans for today. Blankly, the alabaster yearling stared at the Salutary, watching her absorb his response with a respectable grain of salt. It seemed that her maw was about to open to continue the conversation when Luke approached, Wren in tow. It seemed that what he was waiting for had just arrived. Hoshi, if you would please check on Seven and make sure that she is doing well, I would appreciate that," Luke's words were no surprise. Of course, a hunting party would be going out while he went to the borders. What else was there to do in the pack anyways? Nevertheless, the alabaster yearling gave the two superiors a small dip of his head as they departed. From beside him, Hoshi responded to her orders with a quick, "See ya Warrior, Tamlin, Wre..." Her words trailed off at the Beta's name opting for a quick bow instead. As the ever so cheery Salutary bounced over to the former Alphess and her brood, Tamlin turned to Zach, a small entertained spark hiding in emerald eyes. "Did she just call you 'Warrior?'" the yearling almost chuckled, a small puff of breath more forceful than his other ones condensing in the air outside his maw. Jade optics flicked to see Aili already approaching, the party already off to a good start. Now all they needed were the two adults to step up to the plate so that the pack could eat. Aili didn't look too pleased with Luke's comment about them needing practice, her everpresent frown furrowing deeper in a moment of weakness before she collected herself. Heading towards the hunting grounds, Tamlin beckoned to Zach, "Let's just go to the hunting grounds. It'll be easier to plan there. Aili, stop frowning so much, all of us can learn more each time we hunt." Sure, it was blase and disregarded all of the ranks that were put into place within the pack, but Tamlin was never someone to simply wait around once he got a job. Besides, he and Zach were close enough to be considered friends and he knew that he wouldn't mind all that much. -Exit to: Hunting Grounds- Paladin Zachariah @aili @ozmond Hunting Superior Ater

Tam hadn't been the same since Aedion's incident, as to be expected. Throughout the months, he had managed to keep a pretty good relationship with the teen, despite everything. Once the three of them were on the spot, the alabaster youngling sat up, and changed focus to the salutary. "Morning. I'm waiting. Waiting for something to happen, to be told something to do, for the day to start. What else is there to do, hm?". There wasn't exactly a spark of sarcasm to be noted or anything like it, but the words themselves sounded rather bitter, once given thought. Zachariah didn't agree though, his relatively short time alive has proven that once too many times. "Don't be like that Tam, there's always things to do, just standing around usually won't set things in motion". Right then, the warrior could see their alpha walking towards them. He recognized his superior gaze instantly, there was a task to be taken up. "Emphasis on usually". As expected, Luke indeed had work for them. "I don't mean to interrupt, but Wren and I will be departing to the borders momentarily to handle some business that needs our attention. I want you, Zachariah, to organize a hunting party with Tamlin that consists of Ozmond, Aili and Ater. As soon as the others are awake and ready to go I expect there to be hunting done". The alpha also gave Hoshi a duty of her own, to check on Seven, see if she was holding up alright. Nodding to Luke in assurance, he changed back focus to the salutary, who gave her proper goodbyes to everybody present, just barely avoiding calling the beta by her actual name. Behind him, he heard Tamlin chuckling, something strange to hear often. "Did she just call you 'Warrior?". Zach hadn't given it much thought, but honestly, it was kinda funny. "What can I say? It's what I am. You can't say it ain't got one hell of ring to it, kid". Chuckling along his younger friend, the eurasian saw the rest of the party coming up, Aili ahead of the file, frowning as per usual. Once everyone reunited, Tam spoke up. "Let's just go to the hunting grounds. It'll be easier to plan there. Aili, stop frowning so much, all of us can learn more each time we hunt". Kid was right, so the warrior followed along. General Ozmond of noctis Waking with a small start, Oz quickly realized he overslept! Quickly stretching out his front legs with a large yawn, he shook his head before creeping out of his small den. Being a smaller male allowed him to build a smaller and cozier den, at least in his opinion. Seeing Luke and Wren approaching others, he moved forward to catch what would be said. As he moved he stretched his back legs out, kicking up tiny tufts of snow. Grey ears flicked as the two leaders moved to disappear. Ikasha would also be joining the hunting group as well, and hearing Tamlin’s words to Aili had him raising an eyebrow directed at Zach. Zach had more or less stepped in as a parent figure for Tamlin within the last two months, or at least that’s what it had appeared like to Oz. Tamlin since had improved in his words and actions towards the other pack members. For the most part. To Ozmond the words came off a little rude but he wouldn't say anything, Aili was adult enough to remark if she thought so. Turning his attention to the words directed at, Tamlin was indeed correct. Aili had a sour look to her face, but then again everyone had a right to their feelings. Nodding his head in her direction he would wait for her to start following the group before moving alongside her. He would keep the space between them comfortable, hoping to cheer her up in some way. “ If you ever need to vent, or talk, there are several years, mine included, that would listen,” Oz commented with a small smile. Not one for being comfortable with serious conversation, he would wait for her response before continuing on. “ I really hope we hunt something youthful, elder’s always have such a… withered taste,” he joked, looking to see her reaction. . : Time Skip : Two Months : .Seven’s eyes floated open, greeted by the dim gray haze of her den. Blinking away the last tendrils of sleep that ever-so-invitingly beckoned her back into their warm embrace, the ebony female lifted her head and stretched, careful not to disturb the pair of warm bundles nestled at her side. In the shadows of Seven’s well-sheltered den, her pups were little more than small, inky silhouettes. Even so, her lips curved into a smile as she looked upon them. The past two months had been difficult, beginning with the painful dissolution of Seven’s and Luke’s relationship. What started as a lack of communication spiralled downward until Luke had finally broken things off. Seven couldn’t blame him, but it would be a lie to say she hadn’t still loved him. With their separation, the raven female’s life reverted back to her original state; she had returned to her old den, her old rank, and her old routine. The passing days had left Seven melancholy and despondent. Though she hated to admit it, she had even put thought into leaving Noctis. It wasn’t bitterness that had driven her away; it was the crushing loneliness that surrounded her. The end of her mateship had led Seven to realize just how distant she had been from many of her packmates. Her closest companions were long gone, having left the pack like Filtiarn and Conrad or having faded away to memory, like Zero and Yoki. The grief of her friends’ loss had been overwhelming; sorrow had threatened to drown her for some time. The tribulations of the past two months had been eased by a new ray of hope in her life - two of them, in fact. The birth of her pups had filled the great, aching hole in her heart like sunlight flooding through gray clouds. Her sons were not only hers, she knew; they were Luke’s. They were Noctis’. Someday, Makoto and Haruka would inherit what their father had. The ebony female could already imagine them growing into promising young wolves - promising young heirs. Lost in thought as she gazed lovingly down at her little ones, Seven almost missed the crunch of snow just outside. However, a soft voice floated through the air, shaking her completely from her maternal daze. “Good morning, Seven."
Seven sighed a little internally, not quite ready to venture into the frigid winter when the chilly air was already sweeping through her fur, even through the sturdy walls of her shelter. Despite this, her smile did not fade as she rose to her paws and cast a final glance at her still-sleeping pups before pulling herself through the mouth of the den and into the outside world. The freezing air nipped at her as the warmth of her resting place was torn away at last. The snow buried her paws with each step, but she greeted the salutary before her cheerfully nonetheless. “Good morning, Hoshi,” the omega chirped good-naturedly. “Can I be of any assistance?”

Ater had spent most of her pack time mostly mulling through her thoughts and keeping to herself. Interactions with other pack members were kept at a minimum, often times she would almost avoid unnecessary conversation with other pack members to avoid being extremely detrimental to her own mental health. The she-wolf had been promoted from an Omega to a Hunter in the past couple months, and it made her happy to say the least that she was rising through the ranks. Being more than an Omega thrust duties upon her that she hadn’t once faced, and she became enveloped in her need to hunt and provide the pack with food. That and she used hunting as an excuse to escape from awkward interactions with her packmates. She didn’t want to appear too hostile, but it was in her nature to do so. She was lonely, but too stubborn to admit it. Trotting out of her den as she heard her name being mentioned, her ears perked as she listened to the Alpha address Zachariah to form a hunting party and take them all out to the hunting grounds. Ater frowned, she was a hunter. Why hadn’t he put her as the hunting leader in place of Wren? She wasn’t sure, but she could see that she wasn’t the only one displeased with what the Alpha said. Aili seemed to have an irritated demeanor, standing uncomfortably and seemingly on edge at what the Alpha said. Aili was young, and was improving, but there was always room to improve. Which was what Luke was hinting towards, but it seemed the young mind hadn’t caught onto that. Approaching, Ater gave her a small brush of her tail along her flank. “You’re a good hunter, but there is always room to improve. For all of us,” She stated, walking away from the she-wolf as she stopped right behind Zachariah, hoping that maybe he would ask her what the best plan of attack was when they got to the hunting territory, but she highly doubted that. She hadn’t interacted much with the male since he had joined the pack, maybe a small conversation here and there, but otherwise she didn’t know him very well. All she knew is that he was a warrior of the pack, and was a good one at that. His large stature made him seem like the more leader-like figure, which is why she suspected Luke gave him the position of taking them out hunting. But she was still a tad angry about not being leader of the hunting party. Oh well, at least she had something to do as soon as she woke up. -Exit to Hunting Grounds- Paladin Zachariah @ozmond Warrior Tamlin @aili - Ater lives finally

The daydreamer was drifting away into her own thoughts again, even at the slightest break given. Lovely morning. She glanced dreamily across the common grounds, watching as the hunting party assembled and made their way to the hunting grounds. Hopefully, they would succeed in their hunt. Hoshi must have missed the figure emerging from the warm shadows of the den: "Good morning, Hoshi. Can I be of any assistance?"
With a sudden jerk, the salutary swivelled her head back as quickly as she could, ashamed to be caught dreaming again. "I'm so sorry...I drifted off again," Hoshi apologised. Emerald eyes watched as the ebony female stopped in front of her, well-mannered with a warm smile on her face as always. It would be nice if Seven could help Hoshi with collecting the herbs, but Hoshi thought that maybe she could lend Seven a listening ear. After all, Hoshi knew that under that cheerful smile, lingered pain that Seven had so carefully hidden away. She had noticed how the former Alphess spent her days looking slightly gloomy. The distance she kept herself from the rest of the pack, especially Luke. Hoshi might not be close to the Omega, but she was concerned for the down one, just as she was for Tamlin. "It's a lovely morning," Hoshi replied, sucking in a mouthful of the embracing morning air. "I was wondering whether you would like to take a walk with me? Enjoy the morning air. Talk about things."
Padding along the snow, Hoshi glanced around, admiring the snowy scenery yet again. She could never grow bored of the wondrous sight before her - the canopy covered in the pearl-white substance, the snowflakes that pelted down slowly. Returning her gaze to Seven, Hoshi asked softly: "How's winter been so far?"

"It's a lovely morning," Hoshi’s voice hummed brightly. Seven nodded in agreement. It truly was a brilliant morning; despite the thin layer of fog that was beginning to clear away from the frozen ground, the world still seemed to glow. Everything was crisp and pristine. The snow coating the world around glittered and gleamed, still perfectly smooth save for the prints that revealed the morning activities of the pack. As the ebony female stared around, the brindled salutary continued, "I was wondering whether you would like to take a walk with me? Enjoy the morning air. Talk about things." Ah, there it was - the reason that Hoshi had come looking for her. Seven deeply appreciated the gesture; having a friend to spend her time with was something that she truly needed, but hadn’t found an opportunity to pursue. Perhaps this would be an opportunity for her to grow closer with Hoshi; to make her first close friend in some time. Flashing an exuberant grin, the onyx bitch replied, “That would be lovely, Hoshi.” Her smile faded for a moment as she glanced back toward her den. She was still hesitant to leave her pups alone. They’ll be plenty warm, she assured herself. They’ll sleep for some time still, anyhow. Turning back to the salutary, she padded a few steps closer. “Let’s be on our way, then!”The pair strolled along through the snow, the only sound between them the steady crunch of the snow beneath their paws. Casting a glance at her packmate, Seven noticed Hoshi gazing around, her eyes wide with wonder and awe. The ebony she-wolf understood the sentiment; there was something truly astonishing about the Noctis lands in the winter. This was her first winter with the pack, and she, too, had taken time to admire the snow-covered scenery when the first flakes had fallen. Now, she followed suit with the salutary and tipped her head up, letting her golden eyes wander. The towering pines were heavy with glittering snow. The grass had long ago become tawny and crisp, and the thin coating of frosty ice coating their stalks made them seem to shine; everything seemed to, really. It was as if the world had developed its own shimmering sheen. Seven must have gotten lost in her stupor, because she almost missed Hoshi’s quiet whisper, "How's winter been so far?"The she-wolf sighed, her gaze falling to her paws as they traipsed along. “If I may be honest,” she said after a long while, “it hasn’t been easy. I’ve had more than I care to admit weighing on me. It’s getting better though,” she assured the salutary quickly. “The pups are already growing so much.” She smiled. It was small, barely a phantom of an expression, but it was genuine. “I think I’m happy. Not as happy as I was before, but it’s a long way back and I’m close to the top of the hill.” The female chuckled. “I’m sure I must sound like some sort of crazy fortune teller with my nonsense, but I really do appreciate you taking the time to walk and talk with me. It truly does mean a great deal to me. But enough of that; how has your winter been?”

A sigh escaped from the Omega's maw. Hoshi was glad that Seven gave an honest reply. She had half-expected the ebony she-wolf to be really vague about it, or maybe lie a little. "It hasn’t been easy. I’ve had more than I care to admit weighing on me." Seven was quick to reassure Hoshi that all was getting better, which left the salutary a little skeptical about that. Nonetheless, the star thought it would be best to give the benefit of the doubt. “The pups are already growing so much.” It was that moment when Hoshi had to remind herself that Seven was already a mother of two. She watched as a weak smile spread across Seven's face. Hoshi returned her with a soft, gentle smile."That's great to hear," Hoshi chirped, swishing her tail as she walked. "If you need help, pups or anything, I'll be more than glad to assist."
“I think I’m happy. Not as happy as I was before, but it’s a long way back and I’m close to the top of the hill.” Hoshi was relieved that Seven managed to give a little chuckle while saying so. She probably had recovered a little from the gloom she initially suffered in. “I’m sure I must sound like some sort of crazy fortune teller with my nonsense, but I really do appreciate you taking the time to walk and talk with me. It truly does mean a great deal to me. But enough of that; how has your winter been?” Hoshi hadn't really expected the topic to change so quickly to herself. The past two months, she had been mourning the death of Aedion and Zero, both which she had failed to save. She felt guilty, really, really, guilty. It was her duty to heal them, but she had failed in doing so. Hoshi had burdened herself with the two passings, blaming herself for everything. She didn't want to share this with Seven. Instead, she chimed: "Well, nothing much, really. Just trying something new - stocking herbs up. I thought It would be much more convenient and accessible."

| Luke entered the common grounds, Ladislava and Wren in tow. Cranberry eyes drifted over the wolves that were left in his clearing, which weren't many. Most of them were off hunting, and he could hear the faint voices of Hoshi and Seven in Seven’s den. He would want to visit his pups, but he wouldn’t bother Seven so soon. He could barely be around her when she came outside of the den, let alone cram himself into the cozy little area that was housing his sons. He felt terrible for everything that had played out, but the male simply fell away from the she-wolf, eyes having wandered a bit during their mateship, he found it only right that he was honest with her in telling her that he was no longer interested in being her mate. He had partially wished he thought it through before having a litter with her, but there was nothing he could do now. Two healthy boys had survived this far into the world, and he knew that they would be the future successors of the pack if he didn’t have another litter by his passing. Shifting his tawny pelt, he looked towards the newest member of the pack.
“This is the commons, in that den over there is our Salutary,” He stated, looking towards her. “I suggest you wait to introduce yourself until she’s done,” He spoke plainly, not holding a formal tone for much longer. “There is a hunting party out as well. If we’re lucky we’ll be able to have a good meal tonight,” He let the sentence trail off at the end, his eyes shifting towards the direction of the hunting grounds. He was hoping that the members he had sent were making good progress towards a meal. There was nothing to do but wait now, and so he looked towards Wren, eyes darting back down to the ground for a bit before clearing his throat. What the Lava had said at the borders had seemed to have not only surprised him, but the Beta as well. He wasn’t sure if they just worked really well as a team, or if maybe there were underlying feelings for each other dwelling about. Maybe it was too soon after his previous mateship, but Luke felt strongly for his Beta.
Instead of only falling for her looks, like he had with Seven, he had fallen for the she-wolf for many different reasons. She was intelligent, beautiful, humorous at times, and overall was probably the most loyal pack member he could think of. Everything about her was perfect, and he was lying when he said that. He had told her many times that she was perfect, whether it were for the position she was currently in, her excellent planning skills, or simply something that she had done. The male seemed to compliment the she-wolf a lot, and maybe it was too obvious how he felt. He’d never been good at hiding his feelings. “Do you want to take a walk through the territory while we wait for the hunting party?” He blurted towards Wren, having dismissed Ladislava with a flick of his tail.

WORK CAN BE FUN IF YOU LAUGH A LITTLE
Wren's journey back to the common grounds was comfortable. Walking just behind Luke's shoulder, the Beta had been able to keep track of their newest pack member and sneak what was probably far too many glances at Luke. Her gaze couldn't help but wander over to him. It wasn't just the rippling of muscles under russet fur, it was his presence in general. He was confident, dominant but not domineering. How cranberry eyes could hold the sternness required to be both an Alpha and a father, but the softness towards those that he was close to. It was his entirety that was intoxicating to her, but was she letting that show too much? Ladislava had seen right through her at the borders, but did Luke notice? The hopeless romantic within her wondered if he felt the same way about her, but she had a job to do. Best to suffer in silence and relish in the moments they spent together than try to take any action, especially with his recent ex-mate and two sons mere meters away.“This is the commons, in that den over there is our Salutary. I suggest you wait to introduce yourself until she’s done. There is a hunting party out as well. If we’re lucky we’ll be able to have a good meal tonight,” Luke introduced the newest Omega to the common grounds. Further introductions to the rest of the pack members would definitely have to wait until after the hunt. Amber eyes trailed in the direction of the hunting grounds. As both the Beta and the Hunting Superior, she itched to peek into how the hunt was going, but Luke's voice stole her attention away.“Do you want to take a walk through the territory while we wait for the hunting party?” the question admittedly sent butterflies rushing to her stomach. Masking the full effect that the male had on her with a bright smile, the Beta took a quick moment to make sure her voice wouldn't shake, "I'd love to!" She couldn't lie, she was excited. Even just going to the borders with him had been nice, but to go on another walk already was even more of a treat. Following him in whichever direction he began to walk in, the blanketed she-wolf tried to still the nerves running through her system.

| Luke looked towards Wren with a pleased smile. She was willing to accompany him to wherever they would end up. Some of his territory was hardly touched since the pack mostly kept to the commons and the hunting grounds, especially in the winter. But he wanted to get away from the two areas. The commons felt suffocating to him. With Seven being present in them most of the time, he wanted to stay away as much as possible. He was still trying to come to terms with himself about the whole situation, and how he would approach her in future. He had never felt more distant than when he had finally brought up his lack of feelings for her. It was something that still hurt him, even if he had made the decision. It wasn't that it hurt like a normal break-up would - not that Luke would know - but it hurt in how they had been so close and that fell apart so quickly. Their sons were growing up in a dysfunctional family, and he wasn't sure how to address that when the time came to his sons. But, he pushed that thought aside as he looked to Wren.
The beautiful Beta that stood before him. Maybe she would know what to do. She always seemed to know what to do with every situation that was presented to her, and he was glad that she did. He couldn't help but always rely on her, even if he was the Alpha of the pack, he looked for guidance in his Beta, knowing that she would have a good opinion. Trotting forward, Wren would follow behind him as he headed out of the common grounds, and towards his destination; the Misty Lake.
