"I wont ask for more than treatement, I'll keep care of everything else for myself," Khloie didn't care to look at him again, instead keeping her small head pointed away, ears folding against her skull in irritation. You're still asking for something, she would argue in her head. Silence engulfed the tense air for a bit, and for a moment Khloie thought he had left. Was he giving up on her so easily? She wouldn't be half surprised. Eventually she would turn her head, only to find him still standing there watching her. Before she could shoo him away with a snarky retort, the brute spoke again, looking rather determined. "Khloie, I do not expect your forgiveness, you deserve so much better than what I gave you. But know this, if you let me stay, if you let me continue to be by your side, I will spend every day, every waking moment making it up to you, I swear to you my life, it's yours," he spoke, trying to gauge her reaction. What, did he expect her to immediately forgive him? The she-wolf narrowed her eyes at him, face unchanging until... what was that smell?
The young mother's attention immediately fell away from Valentino's figure, blue eyes searching the forest. The odd scent stung her nose, and with every new breath she felt herself beginning to choke. She had never experienced anything like it. Slowly, warily, she got to her paws once again, creeping forward towards where it was strongest, large ears picking up something cackling in the distance. Above her the sky appeared a hazy grey, hardly a splash of blue visible. The only thing big enough to make these noises would be a bear or maybe two moose fighting, but this certainly didn't explain the ominous atmosphere change. Her eyes wandered to Valentino once again, questioning as if he would know what this was. Before he could get the chance to speak, it all suddenly clicked. The she-wolf barely caught a tiny red flame practically waving at her in the distance, and before long with was joined by more. Fire; it was something she had only ever heard of in her life. It seemed to destroy everything in its path and turned up every couple of years, or so she was told. A large crow jerked her attention back, flying below the treetops above them before taking off into the sky; among the many other birds that were beginning to take to the air and evacuate.
For a moment the she-wolf didn't know what to do. She simply stood there with her mouth wide open, heart pounding at the monster that was heading their way. It was the stinking sensation in her eyes that made her stumble away, shaking her head as she neared her pups. While blinded for the moment, Khloie managed to reach inside of the den and drag out the darkly colored figure of Simon. " Sorry for the rush boys but I need you to two to go on a bit of an adventure with mommy... and Valentino," her voice was somehow kept calm, vision finally clear as she searched for her white pup. The air grew warmer every minute, fire threatening to move closer like a deadly wave. If they took too long to get moving, she would have to carry the month old pups for a while considering they were still easily prone to trip or fall behind quickly. Still, Khloie fought to stay patient, summoning her young as she was eager to get moving. In the background she could only hope Valentino would be more helpful than simply falling behind due to his wounds. She couldn't just leave him behind to burn to death, but she also didn't have the strength to push him forward.

Valentino had caught the scent just as his companion caught. Immediately all hairs on his back stood up, head lowered as Khloie observed their surroundings. He knew that scent. He let out a small growl, too low for Khlo to hear though. Flicking his ears he began to move to her side, giving her a small push towards her cubs as he saw the faint signs of red and orange blooming. Watching her digging out the boys, he couldn't help but admire her ability to speak calmly in this situation. His own adrenaline pumping through him he soon forgot the pain the stricken his chest and back leg, and soon he was moving like a healed wolf.
"We need to move to a water source, now," he said, he moved to stand over the darker pup, looking to Khloie for permission to pick up the pup. They would both need to carry one to move quickly. If she would not let him carry the boy he would stand above him and gently nudge him to keep moving and would attempt to pick him up each time he tripped or stumbled. "You're doing little guy, keep going," he would say calmly, trying to maintain a gentle and kind tone in this tense situation. He would look to Khloie, he had heard her coughing earlier before. Opening his maw, he would try to give some helpful advice to her, "Keep your head down, you wont too much smoke that way." With that he would return to the cub at his feet.
If Khloie allowed him to pick up the darkly colored pup, he would do so with a nod. "Keep your head low, the smoke isn't as thick there," he would comment before the pups scruff was safely snuggled between his teeth and he began to move along side Khloie. His pain was minimal, keeping up with Khloie was easy when their lives were at risk. He did not need any push from her to keep up, making sure that the four of them would stay together through this.
@khloie @simon Scout AzrathMines also kind of crappy, but I hope its okay. Also sorry for the different path choices in this. If its confusing let me know. 375#

Callie pretty much ignored everything else until she noticed the lighter male nod in her direction and pad off, she padded after him expecting the darker male to follow as well. She tried her best to avoid making any sound and steadied her breathing making it barely audible, occasionally sniffing the air. When the lighter hued male paused she did too turning and looking at him listening as he explained what was to happen, she gave him a brief nod, agreeing, Well surprise surprise he has more brains than I thought, this fact amused her but she didn't allow that to show. As the lighter hued male branches off Callie shuffles away a little bit so she can easily run out to help with the chase, she could feel her heart rate speeding up and excitement filling her body, finally a true meal.
She waits for the gray male, soon she heard the startled bleating of the deer and the chase begin, Callie pushed herself off of the ground, leaping over a bush, her legs propelling her forward to catch up with the male and the deer soon she was nipping at the heels of the deer as well, should i make the killing blow ?. She sure would love to kill the deer but for now she would continue driving the deer towards the deeper mud until she was told otherwise, although she sped up to the side of the deer and began snapping at the front legs doing her best to avoid getting kicked in the head. Will they let me have the killing blow ? she wondered but her main focus was to be able to eat who killed the doe she didn't care much.

The flirtatious male's two main focuses for the moment were keeping the mother doe moving towards the deeper mud that still clumped to his handsome fur, and keeping himself out of the increasingly deep mud. He really should have taken a dip in the lake that he and Peri had found after they had taken their drinks. It would have made sprinting to keep up with the deer much easier and it would have made him faster and more efficient. The female deer's pin point hooves were beginning to sink into the mud, and her pace was slowing as it became harder to run. Callie was making the doe's journey through the thickening mud ever harder by snapping at both the back and front legs, which was good for the hunting party, but bad news for the doe. Her startled bleating grated against the silver male's ears. He almost couldn't wait until it ceased and he could simply eat her.
Giving a series of barks, Chasen continued to push the beige mammal deeper into the mud. It was nearly up to her knees, and she was seriously struggling to get out. If the attractive male didn't keep his toes splayed, he would sink in up to his chest and likely be in the same situation, minus the whole 'being hunted to become a dinner' thing. His salmon tongue rolled out of his mouth as he slowed his pace to a trot. The doe was practically at a halt, bucking and thrashing around in the mud in a bid to get free and bolt back to the shallow mud and her fawn. Chasen could only hope that his beautiful counterpart and Theodosia could take down the baby deer, while at the same time, he hoped that himself, Callie, and Lucifer could kill the doe that was stuck in the mud. She seemed to be stuck enough that it should be a piece of cake, and then a chunk of meat in his mouth.
"I'm going for the spinal chord! Try to attack the neck!" Chasen barked out, alerting his other two hunting partners of his plans. The trio of wolves didn't know each other all that well, so communication was key if they were going to really bring down the doe. Simply jumping onto the back of the doe could be confusing for the other two wolves, and it could make him look like a selfish brat. He was a little selfish, but bratty, bratty he was not. Leaving a few seconds for his words to be comprehended by his compatriots, Chasen moved towards the almost downed doe.
Pushing off of his spread off toes, the silver male latched his claws onto the base of the doe's neck. She released a startled bleat as his extra weight caused her dainty spine to dip. With a growl, Chasen dug his teeth into the back of the doe's neck, but a bit further up from where his paws were. There the vertebrae were a little further apart, and when the doe ducked her head to the ground before raising up to head butt him in the face, the small bones separated further. While her head was closer to the ground, Chasen shoved his head more into the doe's neck, scissoring his teeth in an attempt to but into the chord a bit before the ungulate hit him in the head. It didn't work as well as he planned, and instead, the doe managed to flick her head back with a startling amount of power for a seemingly gentle beast. Her neck and head thumped against Chasen's skull, drawing out a small groan from the male.
Digging his teeth into the thin neck of the doe again with in increased vigor, Chasen flung his head from side to side while his ivory fangs were stuck in her flesh. Her distressed yelling and thrashing made it all the better when he finally felt something snap beneath his jaws. It wasn't much, probably only a hairline fracture, but it was enough to let Chasen know that he was getting somewhere at last. Adjusting his grip slightly and quickly, he released a larger growl than before and clamped his jaws together like a vice. The thin bones between his jaws that were hidden beneath the doe's soft coat cracked in a sadistically satisfying manner. With every second, the pressure on her spinal chord increased, and more bone fragments lodged themselves within the largest tendon. If his hunting partners had been attacking the other parts of the neck of the doe, she would likely be bleeding out heavily in combination with losing feeling in almost all of her limbs. This would leave her extremely weak. If for some reason her neck was unscathed other than Chasen's bite wounds, then she would only be feeling a tingly sensation down her limbs.
Latching his claws firmly into the doe, Chasen removed his face from her neck. "Let's all attack together on three. We'll all take part in the killing blow to avoid stigmas and stuff. Okay, three, two, one, go!" the silver male barked to Callie and Lucifer, hoping that they would participate with him. He didn't really have a rank yet, and the group really hadn't established any sort of order other than Peri being in charge, so killing the doe together would keep them relatively equal. Chasen chose to view it as a positive equal, but he couldn't really control what his two other hunting buddies thought. Just after his count finished, Chasen dug his teeth into the doe's neck in the same spot as he was attacking before, feeling the tendon that he had exposed split as his teeth cut through it, causing the body he stood on to collapse beneath him. Within the next minute, the doe was dead, blood on it's neck in varying amounts depending on what the two other wolves did. Giving both of them a smile in turn, Chasen gave a small howl in celebration before yipping a short, "Great job, guys! Wanna drag this back, or get Peri and Theo to come and eat it here?" He wasn't going to make any moves to drag or consume the dead doe just yet, he wanted to hear what Callie and Lucifer thought about the topic.

Issoka stood on a ledge above watching longingly at the food, she hadn't eaten yet. Issoka thought one of the wolves looked up at her, she quickly dove behind a rock hoping they couldn't see her. Her auditories perked making sure they weren't coming. " Good..." she sighed straightening her stance. She tipped her muzzle up smelling the air for prey. Suddenly a rabbit burst through the bushes, it sprinted past her heading for the wolves. " Oh no you don't!" Issoka bolted after the rabbit not caring if the wolves saw her. Her cream colored fur passed in a blur as she lunged at the rabbit. Once she had crushed it in her mouth she hoped the wolves weren't looking at her. She turned her head to face them. She gulped " Ummm hello" she shuffled her paws nervously. Issoka stared at them worried, her brown eyes glinting in the sunlight. The she wolf was quite beautiful with cream colored fur with splashes of black and a warm brown. Her eyes were a striking brown with golden streaks, that showed in the sun. Her posture was low her dorsal nearly touching the ground. Issoka noticed this and quickly fixed her stance to look more intimidating, although it was hard since she is a mexican and grey wolf mix. So she looked small and vulnerable no matter what she did. She stared at one of the males straight in the eyes to show she meant business.( Talking to: @chasen , @callie , @lucifer )

With no more than an unsure ok from Theo, Paris finally decided to shut up and get on with things. The coywolf was inexperienced, but surely she could not go on babbling about the right and wrong. Theodosia was learning, but she wasn't stupid. With a slight nod of her head as she stopped, Peri gestured for the younger lupine to move farther down to her position. Chasen's scent, being most familiar, drifted quietly on a tiny breeze downwind, also carrying the near aura of the two targets. Her twisting stomach reminded her of their goal, fueling her need to successfully kill this fawn. If all else failed, she could only put her hope in Chasens team to bring down the mom. All Peri could think about was how vexing it would be if they lost both deer to a mishap of luck, leaving them all empty-mouthed panting and starving. Oh, how she remembered those days as she grew up.
The alarmed bleats of the deer snapped Peri out of her thoughts, cold blue eyes darting up in their direction for the storm that was about to come running. Meanwhile, she crouched lowly to the ground, keen on hiding herself as well as she could so that she did not have to chase after the fawn as it came. Aspect of surprise was all she needed. A racing heartbeat thumped in her ears, adrenaline crawling at her skin and tempting the she-wolf to become antsy. No, she could feel the rhythmic thud of the fawns hooves through the ground as it neared; just another second. As assumed, bright orbs pinpointed on the medium sized deer bursting through the tree's, Theodosia just far enough away that she wouldn't get kicked. Obviously the hybrid focused on being safe than sorry more often than not, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Peri barely kept herself from leaping out the instant she saw the deer, reminding herself to wait until the right moment. Here it comes... and.. NOW! Coiled limps propelled her body forward, only feet away from the fawn as her paws met the ground once again. A late-reaction bleak sounded from the deer's vocals, but by this time it sounded raspy as Paris' fangs had already met its throat. Only, as she had taken another few steps in order to come in contact with her prey, Peri's leg had caught over a tree root, sending her forward ever so slightly. Her jaw, as a result, did not quite meet the fawns windpipe and she didn't have the best grip on it either. Likewise, her force and balance was thrown off, resulting in her body falling to the side as she was dragged by the deer, still struggling to sprint away. Her legs thrashed desperately to find ground so that she wouldn't find herself dragged directly under the deer's body, but alas that was not to be, as her figure continued to rotate until her belly was facing towards the sky and she was, in fact, right under the deer's body. In a tiny second, it seemed, the tables had turned and Paris was now in harm's way rather than the fawn. Still, her determination lead the lupine to hold on a little while longer, hanging onto a false hope that perhaps Theo could help, or maybe the fawn would happen to trip too and give her the chance to stand once again. No, the deer almost immediately took advantage of her predicament, forcing its hind legs to jab painfully into her stomach. Giving up after experiencing the repetitive pain, Paris could do nothing more than release her grip, watching in distress as the deer passed over her motionless body. In this small window of time, as her eyes followed the moving underside of the fawn, all she could hope is that its hind leg did not meet her skull, otherwise she'd be a goner. Her life was flashing before her eyes.
As luck may have it, the fawns hoof landed right next to her head as it sped away now at full speed once again, the deer taking no interest in beating up its bully, but rather making a run for its life while it had the chance. Paris sighed to herself, closing her eyes for a moment before slowly getting to her paws. What was even luckier was that the fawns hoof did not pierce her skin at all. No doubt, thought, Paris would be suffering some nasty bruises on her underside for a while. Oh well. Once to her feet, her first course of action was to find Theodosia who would likely be nearby worrying. Once her eyes found the small coywolf, Paris would move toward her, again offering a reassuring smile though also grimacing slightly at the sourness of her underside. "I'm fine, thankfully, just some bruises. Let's go see if Chasen and the others had better luck." she would say, her voice steady. Behind her smile she was cursing herself for being so stupid. She could have at least took a split second to check her surroundings before the fawn had appeared. Maybe then they would actually have caught the stupid deer. It sure as hell was lucky to get away with its life today, and surely its small puncture wound would heal. If the others didn't catch the doe, she would be left hungry and beaten up.

Theodosia "The Doll Was Perfect, A Dress Of Silk And Lace, Skin Of Blushing Porcelain And Eyes Of Jade Glass."
With a nervous glance back to her friend, Theodosia proceeded to skitter not far away, folding back into the brush. The fawn stood tensed ahead of them, skittishly dancing on it’s hooves from moment to moment. It’s ears swiveled constantly on it’s swinging neck, trying to pinpoint the source of the wolfy scent it had probably detected by now. It’s alabaster lined tail was swung up in a warning to no one in particular, muffled whimpering sounds drawn from it’s velvet muzzle. The Coy-wolf’s heart wrenched as she watched the fawn’s panic; the situation must be so scary for the poor thing.
Clenching her eyes shut with a shaky exhale, Theo took a hesitant step forward. And then another. Come on Theo, you can do this! You can do this! Fear shooting through her almost quivering body, the brightly hued fluffball scooted out from under the bushes and dashed toward the youngling. Despite the fear radiating inside her, she forced her stubby legs to move faster. The small growl she brought up from the depths of her chest was meant to intimidate the fawn into moving faster but it came out sounding more like she was the one being intimidated. The noise caught in her throat as soon as she saw those sharp hooves kick out toward her vulnerable chest. In fact, all of her air was caught in her lungs in that instant as she was entirely winded by her own terror.
Keep going, keep going, keep going… Theodosia struggled within her own thoughts for a second, pace falling slowly as the deer gained ground ahead of her. A lump formed in the center of her throat, pushing her to swallow down a thick mouthful of air. Keep going… The Coy-wolf stumbled on suddenly clumsy paws, swaying for an uncertain moment before bringing herself to step forward. Each step eventually continued into a continuous pattern, throwing her body forward into a full fledged sprint after the fawn. All she had to do was drive the flighty creature toward Paris and then her partner would do the rest. It was definitely a relieving thought to have.
The fawn moved in erratic movements toward the wolf-dog’s hiding place, Theo a good distance behind as she tried desperately to steer and drive the wild thing. She only fell away from her position when she saw the fawn near her companion’s hiding place, allowing the female to ambush the panicked fawn. But… something ended up wrong. A split second in and the pretty hybrid’s paws shifted oddly. Paris’s grip didn’t look quite right and her confidence seemed to be lost for that second. With the instant came the upperhand, handed to the fawn who threw it’s hind legs up, dulled hooves inserting into the wolf-dog’s stomach with extreme accuracy. Theo felt herself stumble back in a shudder with her own sudden fear and surprise at simply imagining the pain that followed that act. Paris, in reaction, released her death hold on the fawn, dropping her battered body on the dirt where she laid, breast rising and falling with the unexpected loss of adrenaline and momentum.
“P-Paris!” The Coy-wolf spun around to fully face the fallen wolf-dog in full, bushy tail held rigidly out behind her and legs straightened. Her hackles rose--pushing her puffball silhouette even larger than usual--an experience she hadn’t had to experience much before. Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh, what if that dang deer decided to plant it’s sharp little hooves in Paris’s head? There could be no treatment for such an injury. It could only bring eventual death which was certainly not something that Theo wanted for her friend.
Dread hung in the air, clouding out sound. Theodosia waited with pure horror in her expression as the fawn hung there for a moment. Was that contempt or terror she saw in it’s face? Terror, apparently. As soon as it had dashed up to the fallen hybrid, it dashed away again. It was hardly injured, something it was probably thanking every star for now. Theo gazed after it, stricken in a slight stupor as to what had just happened. “Paris!” The Coy-wolf startled to, skittering over to the female. What had she broken? A rib? A leg? Had the deer punctured her skin? Was she bleeding heavily? Were her muscles still intact? How about her skull? What if her eye was out of it’s socket? Maybe she had broken some teeth? What if the damage done wasn’t repairable? What if she was in an unstable condition, a life threatening state?
“Are you…” The Coy-wolf’s trembling voice fell away to silence as she watched with concern the wolf-dog clamber unsurely to her paws and move in swayed steps toward her. "I'm fine, thankfully, just some bruises. Let's go see if Chasen and the others had better luck." Theo blinked to keep her tears from spilling onto her cheeks. Shaking her head in happy disbelief, the fluffball returned her gaze back to the larger hybrid. “I’m so glad you’re alright.”
Theodosia moved around Paris in a quick circle before she could walk on, studying the areas of her that she might have injured. It didn’t look like anything was broken but it was always good to check. “Nothing seems broken.” She glanced up to her friend with a small smile spread on her pretty face. “As for the bruises, I think I know where to find some comfrey! It’ll help with any soreness or stiffness and it’ll come in handy if you have any overlooked sprains or broken bones.” The Coy-wolf nodded her head, affirming her new plan. Paris was bound to get sore, even if her pride wouldn’t let her admit it. Theo wasn’t going to take no for an answer. The smile that had touched her lips now grew into a fuller, nearly excited smile as the fluffball worked out what she needed. “I’ll grab some extra incase the others need any and maybe some for later. Hey um,” Turning toward Paris, her smile shied some on her face. “Do you have any small cuts or incisions in your skin? Open wounds? There’s bound to be some Wild Garlic around here if you do.” Now her new friends would get to see her strongest skill demonstrated, just as long as she didn’t-- god forbid-- mess up.

Neither Lucifer nor Callie seemed to want to give any input in after their hunt. That struck him as odd. Lucifer seemed to already be one that didn't talk much, but Callie seemed to be relatively talkative. Was their perception of his authority that great? He had known Peri for around about an hour longer than the other two, but that wasn't really much to go on. Perhaps they just weren't feeling up to talking with their mouths salivating so much from the doe's body that lay stuck in the mud. That was definitely an option; the thought of meat in his belly was making him start to salivate.
The pitter patter of small feet caught his attention. There was still more prey hidden in this muddy forest? That was surprising seeing that the only signs of life he had seen in the dense mud was Peri, Theo, Lucifer, Callie, and the deer. And the trees of course. The smack of smaller feet on the mud was soon followed by a larger suction noise. This creature wasn't running without a purpose, it was being hunted. Awesome! Another wolf to add to their group couldn't hurt, could it? As suddenly as he had caught onto the sounds, they stopped. Right in front of him. A practical angel stood in front of him, the carcass of a freshly mauled rabbit lying nearby. "Ummm, hello,"her voice mumbled, fearful eyes darting between the trio of hunters. His charismatic grin sprung to his face as he looked her over once more. It fell, however, when she showed a different side of herself right out of the gate.
When she had spoken, her body was low, fearful, submissive. Chasen could understand why, it was scary suddenly bumping into three strangers while one had food in their mouth. However, she soon straightened her posture, lifting her tall frame in a show of wanna be dominance. It was certainly odd to see a wolf go from such submission to an attempt at dominance. Speckled bronze locked with warm chocolate as the seemingly defiant she-wolf tried to uphold an image of power. It was a little amusing, but Chasen wasn't one to break a stare for nothing. He liked these kinds of games, ones that were one on one, wolf against wolf. It was bonding time if any.
As he stared passively back at the she-wolf, a scent tickled is nostrils. Ahhh, the soothing scent of Peri. He hadn't known her for long at all, but the distinct scent of dog mixed with wolf mixed with mud was already bookmarked in his brain. That, and only that, broke his gaze away from the obviously gorgeous she-wolf. He gave a flick of his head towards Lucifer and Callie, letting them interpret his action as they would before trotting off towards where Peri's scent was growing stronger. He could only hope that their hunt went well. Feeding five wolves was no easy task, so the doe and the fawn would do nicely if everyone wanted to have full bellies. However, it seemed that the pair of half wolves weren't able to catch the fawn. He wasn't disappointed, more concerned for his Queen, who seemed to be walking like a pregnant wolf in labour. He knew she wasn't, he couldn't smell any hint of milk on her when they had met, which only left him with the fact that she must have gotten injured during the hunt. Theo was flitting around her like a moth to a flame, checking in, rambling in her soft, high-pitched voice about various herbs that he had no knowledge of. That confirmed it. She was hurt; his precious Queen was hurt.
His memories flooded his system. Standing in the dry woods, the trio of obviously maniacal wolves stumbling upon them, sinking their teeth into their group. One by one they tore through the wolves he considered his friends, and lastly, Harmony. Her weakened frame didn't stand a chance as a charcoal demon tore into her. She hadn't done anything wrong, simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time surrounded by wolves that belonged in the deepest depths of hell. Blinking away the pain in his eyes, Chasen returned back to his current situation. Without further hesitation, he trotted over to Peri's side, close enough that she could lean on him if she wanted to, but not enough to push her buttons. He'd already done that once, and that was when she wasn't nearly doubled over."Peri, are you okay? Silly question, I know. Still, if it makes you feel any better, we managed to get the doe, and some new she-wolf killed a rabbit a few meters away from us. If she's still there I'd be glad to introduce you! I don't know her name though, we just kind of had a staring contest before I noticed that you were coming," the silver male rambled as he walked beside this unique wolf-dog. They were going to take a little bit to get back to the kill, considering that the pace was a little slower than usual, so he presumed that he might as well fill the time by filling Peri in on what had happened with their part of the group.

Callie stood there silently, pawning over her answer but unsure if she wanted to answer. she decided against it. Soon the sound of paws hitting the ground quickly yet lightly caught her attention and then a new wolf was there. At first the wolf..seemingly a female seemed submissive, cowering , but then her posture quickly shifted to a very dominant one. Daring, Callie's coppery eyes studied the she-wolf not caring if she saw her doing it.
She then noticed that Chasen and the she-wolf were having a staring contest of sorts, this amused Callie so she watched, but to her disappointment the brute bounded off after catching the scent of the light colored wolf-dog. Suddenly Callie became aware of the fact that she and the darker brute were left to guard the deer, and her ears pricked forward, her tail rising a bit, she let out a small warning growl to send a warning to the female to not try anything. This wolf had her own rabbit to eat and she hadn't helped with the hunt whatsoever so Callie didn't think the she-wolf deserved any of the deer.
Callie flicked her ears as bugs buzzed around and somewhere not too far away a bird screeched. She partially wondered if the darker male was going to say anything or if the trio would just stand there staring at each other until the wolf-dog, coy-wolf and Chasen came. Callie wasn't very intimated by the new female but she kept an eye on her guarding the deer and herself partially.

Issoka smirked at the male, having a tad bit of fun. Her tail flicked playfully, but was soon interrupted as the male turned around. Issoka looked almost disappointed as the male bounded off towards a scent she could not yet identify. She glanced over at the female who seemed to be staring at her, she watched her copper eyes. Issoka took a step back hearing the female growl at her, she quickly looked up at the darker male but glanced back down at her rabbit. Issoka took a moment to think. Ok Issa... you cant mess this up, not again. She began to lower back down to her cowered postition, but quickly straightened her posture again. ISSA what do you think you’re doing! Be brave... Her auditoria flicked. “My name is Issoka, you are?” Issoka smirked at her sudden braveness.
Her brown and golden eyes flickered in the sun with delight. Could these be friends? A home? Her tail began to sway back and forth with excitement, but she quickly stopped, not anting to look like a pup. Her stomach growled, she let out a small yelp of embarrassment. Issoka looked down at her rabbit and then at the deer. She shook her head looking back at the female with a arm harmless smile. She wondered if befriending these wolves could be a mistake. “ Don’t be so trusting Issa!” her fathers words rang in her head. He lips curled in a snarl of annoyance at these recurring thoughts. She got lost in her mind at moments. She snapped her attention back to the female and male. “Goodness Issa you’re such a fool!” she growled mad at her father. She looked back at the wolves realizing she may have been seen as threatening. Well there ya go Issa... ruined your chance.

The solider crept low beneath the shrubs, large paws snug deep into the thickening mud that caressed the fur between his toes. Eyes were locked on the mother and her child. A mother’s most highest value was always her child, always, and now they were about to wretched the young thing from her, draw a wedge deep through an almost unbreakable bond between mother and child. But Lucifer could see no way other than such. And at the end of the day they were predators, and no matter how beautiful, innocent, frail the pair would seem, they were prey, food, fuel.
Chasen’s bark was the spark that lift the flame. From all sides Lucifer could see the gang dart forward, his larger form among them was last to spring out from cover as long thick heavy legs galloped forward in a sprint. He heaved and huff as his rusty spine cracked back into action, as if having been brought out from retirement after only catching mice and rodents for months. His lack of practice was apparent, but Lucifer’s instincts wouldn’t allow his body to quit on him, will power thrusting him forward as his hinds pushed him up behind Callie whose springy legs stretched way ahead.
What Luci cared to question though, was as to why they were still conversing on who would take the killing blow? Eyes narrowed as he curved right to realign with the fleeing mother’s form. It seemed idiocy to discuss it as of now wasn’t it! The most important part of the hunt should have been decided upon way before this moment. Why hadn’t Lucifer spoken up earlier? He leapt over a fallen tree, paws digging deeper as he accelerated. His mind knotted in confusion, why hadn’t he said what was on his mind? Why hadn’t he spoken? Orbs darted a momentary glance to Callie and Chasen to insure everything was going well. Oh wait… right. He couldn’t have said anything insightful… no… he was better off that he kept such opinion to himself, it wasn’t his place to speak was it… The large male had to swerve suddenly away to avoid a tree. He shook the thoughts away as he galloped on.
They were doing well so far as they drove the distressed mother deeper and deeper into the mud that sloshed and bubbled with hunger, sucking the doe further down, her lower legs beginning to disappear into the icky goo. Now you could really see the extreme panic in her eyes, Lucifer’s form slowing into a graceful trot as he circled the doe, who tried to keep the predators at bay any way she could. He wondered if she was still thinking of her child…. He darted forward with a predatory pounce after Chasen’s words, hinds lifting him up to bring down top jaws onto her neck. A screech let loose from the suffering mother, her agile body failing to hold under the weight of the three wolves and the sinking mud.
Chasen called for all to take the killing blow, but Lucifer felt she’d escape if he moved. He instead kept hold of her nape, kept hold as the mother thrashed in agony. Did he want the killing blow? The other two moved in position. No… of course not. Eyes shut while teeth dug deeper to hold her down as she used whatever power she had in her final act of defiance. No no no. He truly didn’t need it. It was almost he could feel her soul weaken as blood began to spill. Maybe he did want it. Crunch. It was over.
The carcass fell limp in his jaws, a sigh released through nostrils as he let go, neck and skull dropping to the ground with lifeless motion. With that he took on a taller stance then previous, looking down at what was now nothing but a mere feast to the crows. He sighed.
It hadn’t been but a minute since they succeeded that another came stumbling upon they’re little victory, and quickly enough Chasen choose to abandon the rogue off after his one and only. Lucifer rolled his eyes, before retracting to see Callie take a step forward to defend their meat. The larger male while appreciated, sought for none of that. Instead he stepped over the dead, and with his rear to the deer he dropped his fluffy rump onto the animals stomach, a deflating and wobble of dead skin followed before it all settled beneath his weight as he had choose to sit down upon the carcass to signify that it was theirs. He gave a simple nod to the new rogue.
Lucifer was about to reply when he heard a growl come from the rogue, his ears pivoting forward instantly as his haunches brought him to a stand. Quiet... indeed he was. But a pacifist he was not. Eyes narrowed while he remained silent, questioning what to do next.
But what had brought on some form of alertness was the nearing form of Theodosia and Paris, his head snapped to see the wolfs-dog limping form that was apparent as Chasen moved a lot more easily alongside her. Though he did not move, Lucifer’s concern was there… somewhere. At some point maybe his eyes would meet hers, had they he’d nod to her in acknowledgement, in victory or failure his guess is that they both did what they could, and it just hadn’t worked out.

The smoky-colored shewolf strode quietly, casually, into this little clearing between the aging trunks. Guided by the scent of freshly drawn blood-- despite this disgusting slurry of mud, she thought to herself, the she-wolf had assumed some small animal had found a way to injure itself for easy kill. Not so. Ren found herself nestled quite snugly in the middle of a gathering of sorts instead. 'Pack' was the first thought that swiped at her mind, but this ramshackle band each wore their own scents, not the stark individual one of Somnus she's brushed past just near the edges of these damned soil-splattered pines. However...it did take some sort of bond to take down such high-stakes prey. It was either that, or foolishness. Her fur bristled instinctively--she refused to sink into submission, instead rising into alertness and mild fear; her tail stick-straight and her ears pricked, lilting slightly backwards. Olive eyes shifting, she glanced at the unidentified canid with the hickory fur. Now, both concern and interest were piqued. She spoke. "Ah--you'll have to forgive the intrusion," she forced out, voice strained with stress. "I am a vagabond, simply gathering herbs. I'll be on my way--peacefully--but after such a hunt, will any of you be needing any sort of healing? I've managed to scrounge up some gumweed and a bit of arnica. Consider it a peace offering, if you will?" The wiry wolf shifted uncomfortably on her paws, still refusing to cower. Should buy me some sort of alliance, some free pass to leave before I'm attacked,' Ren thought worriedly.

| | OOC: Jeez! That's a lot of wolves I just tagged. Uh, anyway, this is Ren, a salutary-style rogue! She may not seem interested in joining up with you all, and that's because she doesn't. Yet. All of y'all can just do with her what you will. Hope this is okay!| |

Without being able to take so much as another step towards the rest of their group, Theo was already circling her like buzzards around a dead animal, carefully searching for anything besides bruises. " Nothing seems broken," she commented, more so to herself. Well, of course nothing was broken, otherwise she would be in a worse condition. That statement could simply be answered by common sense. Paris wanted to roll her eyes at the sudden attention she had captured, but the coywolf seems so at ease inspecting her and letting her mind run with herbs and whatnot. Like Paris' love for hunting, she couldn't ignore the pleased smile on her features as Theo did what she loved best. Truthfully, the hybrid thought of nothing she might need to treat bruises; all they needed was some time and stretching. Yet, Theo still babbled through a list of different herbs that may help with soreness, eager to run off and put herself to use. Peri half-listened to the lupine, more focused on reaching the others to find if they had caught the doe. She paused momentarily as Theodosia addressed her directly, asking of cuts or scrapes, and something about wild garlic. Slowly the she-wolf shook her head, meeting Theo's eyes calmly. " You can go fetch your herbs after we eat, otherwise there will be little to nothing left for you," ears perked slightly at the sound of approaching pawsteps, and all too soon she could detect Chasens somewhat familiar scent. " -Maybe i'll join you later so I can learn of some of these herbs myself, you know, for future reference if I ever need them again." Paris smiling politely toward the coywolf, half expecting her to grow excited at the thought of showing someone her skills. Though the thought sounded rather boring to an active wolf like Paris, she had to admit that her herbal knowledge was limited to : use cobwebs to stop or slow bleeding. If she ever got chased again by piteful wolves, a general idea of how to treat her wounds would be helpful. In her old life as a puppy, she vaguely recalled her mother's owner taking her to a strange building that reeked of many different animals. That day she had been poked and prodded by some other human, but in the end she felt better. Now that she thought about it, surely that had to be the humans way of treating their pets, and their methods were ultimately way quicker than what wild wolves were used to. Shaking away the hazy thoughts, Paris got moving, Chasen meeting at her side soon after. "Peri, are you okay? Silly question, I know. Still, if it makes you feel any better, we managed to get the doe, and some new she-wolf killed a rabbit a few meters away from us. If she's still there I'd be glad to introduce you! I don't know her name though, we just kind of had a staring contest before I noticed that you were coming," like Theodosia, her acquaintance babbled on. It irritated the lupine slightly, considering Chasen had said "if it makes you feel any better,". He must have assumed that they had lost the fawn, but it definitely didn't make her feel any better about it. But, alas, at least they all had something to eat. A new wolf came to Paris as little news. It seemed as the number of scents grew strong, wanderers wanted to join in too. Whoever she was, she wasn't welcome eating their kill, especially since she didn't contribute to the hunt. If she had a rabbit, that would be her own meal. " My name is Issoka, you are?" the rather brave voice caught in Peri's ears, making her fur bristle at the she-wolf's tone of voice. She was trying to sound dominant, and although normally she would choose to run from a wolf like that, this time around she had others that her relatively on her side. As Paris and her two new companions broke through the brush, her eyes immediately targeted on the lupine. No matter size, Peri found her daringness threatening to the group as a whole. The wolf-dog stepped forward, ignoring the dimmed pain of her bruises as she addressed the newcomer. " If you want to stay here longer than introductions, I suggest you lose the attitude." her steady voice was curt, raising her cranium slightly to challenge Issoka's dominance. Peri payed close attention to the female's body language. If she were to grow agitated, Paris would be sure to pay closer attention to her eyes and legs, preparing for a sudden attack. Otherwise, if the she-wolf listened and settled down, allowing Paris to be dominant once again, Peri would let her fur rest. Meanwhile, another she-wolf appeared, appearing stressed and perhaps somewhat intimidated rather than provocative. " Ah--you'll have to forgive the intrusion," Peri ignored the rest of the wolves sentence. Her father taught her that she could not let her attention become distracted while in a fight. Though this was no fight, and Peri doubted Issoka would dare challenge the sake of their group further, she could not let her eyes stray from the motions of a sudden attack; otherwise she wouldn't have time to react and dodge. The air felt thick with tension, and she could only hope everyone could come to an agreement to get along.

Theodosia "The Doll Was Perfect, A Dress Of Silk And Lace, Skin Of Blushing Porcelain And Eyes Of Jade Glass."
The small shake of Paris’s ruby trimmed head was relieving to Theo, glad that her friend had not only escaped with her life from such a predicament but also with minor injuries. Theo could recount terrifying amounts multiple times of stumbling upon unfortunate souls with broken bones, open gashes or the like. It made the puffball shudder violently just to recall imagining the horrible things those souls had gone through; things that she would never allow herself to do in a thousand years.
"Peri, are you okay?” The Coy-wolf flicked her small head in the direction of the rapidly approaching male, large ears perked to the rest of his words. “Silly question, I know. Still, if it makes you feel any better, we managed to get the doe, and some new she-wolf killed a rabbit a few meters away from us. If she's still there I'd be glad to introduce you! I don't know her name though, we just kind of had a staring contest before I noticed that you were coming," The puffball smiled shyly toward the enthusiastic Chasen, falling away from the wolf-dog’s side to give the male room. His words were meant to be kind, something that Theodosia could easily find in them. It was obvious he was most worried about Paris, the one who seemed more obviously injured even though she proceeded to act as if she was fine, her mental and physical set allowing her to move on from the event with little to no thought. It was something Theo admired about the female. Still, the Coy-wolf couldn’t help the small pang of... what? Was it hurt or jealousy she felt as she observed Chasen swoon over the wolf-dog? Maybe-and just maybe- she could let herself admit just a tiny bit that she was (somewhere deep down) hurt that he would only react too and care about Paris. Yes, one could say she was a little jealous. But it had to be a reality that she accepted. Paris was beautiful, a lot prettier than a scrawny, coyote-looking hybrid. And she was a lot more admirable and inspiring too. Both were just facts that Theo had to get over.
As the trio came upon the rest of their suddenly growing group, a new female was spotted amongst the crowded area. She was large, much taller and stockier in build than the Coy-wolf was and had a suppressing, dominant expression set on her face. Cherry blossom pink eyes turned upward and scanned the wolf-dog’s face for approval of this new wolf. Instead she saw major hints of irritation. "My name is Issoka, you are?" She spoke like she owned the place, setting tension into the tiny fluffball. Without any hesitation, Theo edged back, opting to hide behind Chasen and Paris for protection. What would a large wolf like her think of a tiny, helpless Coy-wolf like Theodosia? Probably what everyone else thought of her: a dirty, thieving, crummy old hybrid.
"If you want to stay here longer than introductions, I suggest you lose the attitude." Theo glanced worriedly up at the stunning female, fox-like face laced concerned at such an act toward the large wolf-Issoka. Such daring words and dominant positions scared the little fluffball, forcing her dainty paws to carry her back a few more steps, well aware of how weak she looked in doing so. The fluffball was used to fear, used to running and certainly used to submitting. It was a large part of her existence in the world.
While the Coy-wolf quivered, the flooding of another scent caught her attention, dragging her head to the side to observe the approach of a scrawny female. Theo quickly scurried a step away, holding her body lower so her chest brushed the ground and with her fur standing on end. “Ah--you'll have to forgive the intrusion," Theodosia glanced fearfully to the Wolf-dog who she had continued to cower behind. Her response wasn’t exactly encouraging at all, simply deciding to ignore the near scrawny newcomer as she pushed along with her vivid staring contest. "I am a vagabond, simply gathering herbs. I'll be on my way--peacefully--but after such a hunt, will any of you be needing any sort of healing? I've managed to scrounge up some gumweed and a bit of arnica. Consider it a peace offering, if you will?" Gumweed? How had she come across gumweed here? Confusing but no, they wouldn’t need gumweed. Having already studied the physical states of her companions, there were no open wounds. Though the arnica could come in handy…
“Th-that’s alright.” The strained whispers gently fell from the Coy-wolf’s lips, unconsciously speaking them without her brain moving quick enough to comprehend her own vocals. Her mind pressured her to stop, reminding her that this female was unknown and thus potentially dangerous. Still, the Coy-wolf continued with hushed words and a dry mouth. “The da-damage-- i-it’s only minimal. A bruise. And I'm about to retrieve some comfrey for it.” Theo’s face flushed as she granted the female a small, comforting smile, hoping to ease her nerves some as well as her own. “B-b-but the arnica and gumweed could come in ha-handy later-- stored-- in case there’s a need.”

Azrath “All That He Asked Was To Be Left To Exist As Humbly As The Butterflies And The Birds.”
The tiny ball of pearly fluff curled inward instinctively as the warmth that had been previously shared with the miniature wolf began to fade away. The only feeling that was left was an empty sort of cold, a void that left him shuddering even as he tried to cling to the last of it. Without needing to open his pearly gaze, the bleached pup maneuvered over the den’s floor toward the darker pup close by. Azrath huddled down next to his brother, trying to share the darker pup’s body heat.
As he made himself comfy beside Simon, Azrath lifted his crown, bringing his pale eyes to the morning outside. The air was crisp, dim light shafting in through the fanned tree leaves. As she entered a small patch of projected color, the pup spotted his mother hurrying off into the bleak early morning. Where is she going? Why is she going? When is she going to be back? Questions with no answers circled through his sleepy mind as he shifted forward further onto his chest instead of resting on his stomach as he had been doing earlier. With a tired yawn, the bleached pup hoisted himself to his paws, gazing with longing eyes after the hollow his mother had left. “Ma…” Shyly mumbled words left his lips in between yawns.
The pearl glazed pup turned back to the inner part of their small den, spotting through mildly blurred vision the near still form of his brother. Simon’s movements were presented soft rises and falls from his chest as he continued to rest peacefully. Azrath, for a mere moment, entertained the idea of waking his darkly hued sibling. It would be nicer to stay awake with someone instead of staying awake all alone. But, his brother looked so peaceful and quiet there that it was hard to bring himself to do it.
A bird announced the morning somewhere far away, turning Azrath’s head in it’s direction. He stood silently for a moment, ears pricked upward to fully admire the bird’s lovely call. The feathered creature repeated a couple of times, filling the air with an echo before growing still.
Crunch. The sound split the quiet, exciting the pup. “Mama!” The joyful whisper was followed with an equally excited jolt of wiggles and wags as he merrily awaited the imminent approach of one of his favorite wolves. The crisp scent of fresh blood filtered into Azrath’s nose, pushing him to bounce toward the entrance expectantly. His pearly gaze caught the lovely figure of his mother, a bundle of sorrel fur tucked neatly into her petite jaws. She would be so proud to find her smallest son seated properly just inside the den they shared, waiting patiently for his only and most-definitely-favoritist-of-favorites mother to come back. Azrath swept his wispy tail back in forth at this thought, brushing a few old pine needles away from the enclosed entrance. His mother’s approval meant everything to his young and protected world.
As she came closer, a thought crossed his mind. Perhaps his mother would not like him being out and about without her approval. Azrath flicked his haloed crown in his slumbering sibling’s direction, remembering his parent’s worry when Simon went out. Finding that her smallest had been scurrying around the den could only stress her more.
With a gentle sigh, the pup feel back into the den, curling up on the floor with his eyes squinted shut. His mother’s soothing voice filled his waiting ears, allowing his body to relax. He was preparing his leave from the den, ready to bound out and greet his mom with the best greeting he could give. Azrath’s plans were interrupted, however, as the rustling sounds of his mother settling caught him. Instead of getting up, the pup squirmed back down, balling up despite his want to jump out to her.
Curled up in the den, the pup was thoroughly unaware of the unexpected visitor that approached their doorstep. He only startled too when he heard the unfamiliar snarl that drew him to peek outside.
Hidden inside the den, Azrath could only hear muffled words from the two adults outside. "Khloie," It was a male, someone he hadn’t heard much of before. "I'm sorry for being gone so long but I didn't want to return empty handed, I'm really sorry, please forgive me... Khlo" Khlo? Why did he call his mom Khlo? Azrath poked his head around the leering wall that formed the entrance, watching with silent concern for his mother’s being. She seemed upset, her small form tensed in a defensive posture and her face read aggressive. The pearly pup had never seen his beautiful mother quite so angry before, the expression was nearly foreign to him. "Wonderful to see your face, Val, after what, a month?!" Her words were sharp, cutting through the suddenly silent air like deadly claws. The force made Azrath cringe back some, feeling another wave of worry crash over him. Why would this ‘Val’ hurt his mom? Why would anybody hurt his mom? She was so so soooo nice and veeerrryyy pretty and suuuuuppppeeerrr smart!
Azrath craned to hear her next words but they were hushed, the only sounds slight voice cracks that shifted into to quiet snarls before quieting back into vicious words. "I won’t ask for more than treatement, I'll keep care of everything else for myself," Silence engulfed the pair, tension thick within the air. It was so prominent that even the pup could feel it. It was almost as prominent as that thick stench that had moved through the air. It stung his sensitive nose and open eyes, like a bunch of microscopic bees ravaging his exposed flesh. In an attempt to escape the biting pain, the bleached pup stumbled backward into the den.
"Sorry for the rush boys but I need you two to go on a bit of an adventure with mommy... and Valentino," Azrath turned his head just in time to watch his sibling pulled from the safety of the den, his scruff held strictly in the grip of his mother’s teeth. The scent only continued to build as he too was pulled from the den. “Bad smell…” The soft words were mumbled from his lips as he swung loosely from her tender grip on his scruff. His pearled gaze found the similarly sized figure of his brother, held in the strong grip of the big dark wolf who his mother called Val. The one she was mad at because he did something… But if she trusted him with Simon, he should trust him too right?
