DESCRIPTION. The Sorelus common grounds are a pleasant smattering of trees surrounding a small pond. The water contained in it is fresh and cool, often freezing over during winter to create a little ice rink. Dens are scattered throughout the trees, the fertile mountain soil allowing the roots of quick growing trees to form sturdy dens. Between the trees are large open spaces, suitable for training, playing, and various other activities. The coniferous trees shed needles as opposed to leaves, but rarely is the ground covered in a thick blanket of them.

SCOUT HYE-SU
OF
SORELUS
Hye-Su grew into a matured, well mannered, and stealthy she-wolf. Plum eyes never reflected her emotions and she remained stoic. Only those within the pack she would grace with a smile or share in emotion; strangers and rogues would receive no such companionship. She kept to Joy and Karini in the recent months and becoming friends with both. She enjoyed both girls, and tended to remain quiet and listen, or discuss other things.
The boys their age she tended to just be around, not really conversing with them as much as the girls. She had nothing against them but she would remain guarded against males after her brother threatened her. No incidents, no scents, nothing for the last year. She was happy to be done with her family, or at least so she thought.
Tail flicking behind her she made her rounds around the commons. She liked to get her bearings first thing in the morning, which included in her checking on everyone before finding something else to do. She was always busy and grew the reputation workaholic. She loved training and would attempt to get anyone to spar with her, even if they out matched her from the beginning. Practice makes perfect, and she wouldn't settle for anything less.

After leaving the Rockland group, a few fellow Rogues in tow; Moose lead the group on a mini hunting expedition, searching for pack territory all the while bringing down a few big kills along the way thanks to the extra paws. It seemed like forever ago now that he stumbled upon Rowan and his band of Rogues, deciding to then follow the new alpha and be accepted into the Sorelus pack as one of its hunters, he would not have it any other way. Large ginger paws stretched out infront of the male as he let the sun warm his pelt this morning. He decided to stand up and explore more of the new territory, wondering where Edon and Valencia might be now. It was still early, maybe sleeping? he thought to himself, the excitement of getting to know his new packmates fresh on his mind, his tail giving a very soft sway as he decided to round the small pond, many scents presenting to him as he passed the dens, careful not to disturb anyone though.

Time Skip: Two Months Later The world they’d found had come straight from a fairy-tale. Even now, a month later, he found himself marveling at their land’s quiet loveliness. Winter snow washed it anew. Soft powdery sheets cloaked each clearing, hiding any hint of a blemish from sight. Large pines loomed overhead; broad, green branches freckled with frost. Roving, sturdy roots laid the foundations for delightfully spacious dens, enough for every wolf in his band to have a home of their own. Each den ebbed away toward broad sloping banks, trailing down towards the shallow pond sheltered right in the heart of their Commons. As of now, it had iced over, but that didn’t stop his more adventurous mischievous apprentices from venturing out to playfully test its strength. He awaited the day when he would have to dart from his den to save a flailing apprentice with reluctant acceptance, but for now, he was content to curl up and watch from the comforts of his new den, with Raisa wriggling at his side. “Rise and shine,” he chuckled, swiping a sanguine tongue over her ivory head. He rested his head on top of her own; a soft, tender sigh passing through parted jaws before a squeak brought the attention of his one-eyed gaze elsewhere. “Hungry early today, aren’t we now?”Quinn’s small body shivered as he stretched himself forwards, squealing as he sought out the warmth of his brother, Sirius. Rowan chuckled as he arched forwards, picking the pup up by the brink of his scruff as he settled him down. All whimpers and whines ceased to a halt as his most vocal son began sucking, curled up comfortably by his Mama. Rowan beamed with poignant, silent pride. Raisa had given birth weeks ago, just as they’d discovered these lands, and during the worst blizzard they’d braved thus far to boot. It was with the help of a newly acquired salutary, Cecil, and Raisa’s persistent, adamant push forwards that their two sons arrived safely. They were more than perfect then, and even after they’d finished exploring the countless wonders this world had to offer — the waterfalls, the geysers, the hot springs — he maintained they were the most incredible things he’d ever seen: his two mixed bred, tiny pups. Quinn was his oldest, showing every sign of being every bit as bright-eyed and boisterous as he’d been in puphood. Sirius, on the other hand, was more gentle, mild-mannered and reserved, like his mother, but if push came to shove, he’d show his brother he was not to be trifled yet. They were still infants, only just beginning to grasp basic speech, but the bare threads of their core personalities already prevailed. He couldn’t wait to see where they would lead. “I’ll be right back.” He whispered softly, taking care to rise slowly enough so that he didn’t rouse his sleeping mate. There was much to be done, but for now, he’d allow his other packmates their morning rest. Hye-Su, his apprentice, had already risen, patrolling the perimeter of the Commons as was her morning habit. Moose, their newest member, seemed to slip into similar habits, nervously pacing on the outskirts of his packmates’ dens. He still felt out-of-place, though he’d never admit it aloud. It was a phenomenon common to their new recruits: Edon, Kodiak, and Valencia, and all the others that’d joined him and his wolves half-way into their journey. Each was pleasant, amiable enough, but he had been handling rouges long enough to know when one hadn’t completely assimilated. “Morning Moose,” he quipped. “Why don’t you and the rest of the hunters take a day off? Relax; get to know each other a little better. Don’t worry about today’s hunting. I’ve got it covered. You can just let Kodiak and Edon know once they wake up. I’ll try and talk Cecil into giving Valencia the day off too. Can’t make any promises though.” Rowan laughed, casually lounging back on his onyx haunches. “Don’t be afraid to have fun!”Languidly, he lifted himself up, trotting over towards where Hye-Su was patrolling. His student had made progress, always eager to plunge herself into the thick of the action, but since they’d assembled a suitable adult hunting team, she and the other apprentices had found the action to be a bit lacking. Luckily, he’d just the right plan to sate them. “Good job,” He barked, slowing his trot to keep pace with her. “Always on the look out, but I’d expect nothing less. How’d you like a real adventure today?” He paused, taking a moment to assess her reaction with a small, deft smile. “You and the other apprentices on your first big game hunt. No adult hunters, no outside help, just you, your senses, and knowledge of what to do. Don’t you worry, I’ll have Twizzle lurk on the sidelines, just in case of an emergency, but other than that you’ll be on your own. You, Karini, Simon, Azrath, and Niqo all chasing after a nice fat buck — or moose if you’re feeling particularly bold. If you can’t bring anything down on your first go, that’s perfectly fine! I’ll make sure you have more opportunities in the future. But I think it’d be a good experience for you all now. So, what do you say?”Tagged: Scout Azrath @simonn @niqo @karini Scout Hye-Su @joy Hunter Moose Hunter Edon Hunter Kodiak Apprentice Valencia Salutary Cecil @wingnut @twizzle Guardian Raisa @helios @junichiro

Time Skip: 2 Months It had been quite the journey, getting everyone over here in one piece in the midst of winter, with a pregnant wolf no less. But even so, they had remained strong, and made it to their new pack grounds. Jun had stayed in the back, watching everyone to make sure no one was left behind or ambushed. Luckily, they didn't see much trouble, mostly just other predators competing for territory or food. They didn't run into any other packs, either, so it was true that they were more secluded from the other packs that were in the area. He was fine with that; it gave them time to grow and train and prosper and not have to worry about competition for prey or random attacks on their ranks. They needed more warriors if they were to be a chance against such a thing if it happened. They had been able to gain a few members along the way as well, so from his perspective things were looking up. The alpha's pups had been born, and to be honest the old warrior was ready to test their potential when they were of age. That was another thing; Rowan had made the decision to appoint him as the General, because of his experience on the battlefield. He wasn't really sure how he felt being in a position to fight once more when he had given it up, but with luck he wouldn't have to, and he could teach the younger generation to be able to take the reins. Maybe he could even have an apprentice of his own. Of course, he trained Azrath before they left, but now he had more than one pup to give battle training, so Azrath wasn't the only one there now. Would he get to choose? Would Rowan appoint him one, or would he just have to wait for one of the young ones to take an interest in battle strategy? What if he asked and the pup refused? It seemed this older man still had some tricks to learn. This morning he was laying about in his den, not being too far away from the thick of the dens so he could easily intercept any attackers during the night. He heard movement outside, and as such stuck his head out, but made no move to get up or greet anyone. Rowan was conversing with Hye-Su, away from his pups for a rare moment. He was happy the father was close enough to want to be around his kids all the time, even if he couldn't relate to that kind of parental love, or romantic love in general. Moose, a hunter, seemed to be pacing around, feeling out of place and wanting to get out his nerves. He would be fine. The grizzled male gave a heavy sigh, wondering if he should get up and greet Rowan to see what he wished for him to do today or if he should just nap for a little longer and start the day later. Not that the pups would let him if they did have to be taught today. They were such early risers it was crazy. They were even playing on the ice and seeing how thick it was, while he wondered when one of them would jump too hard or step in the wrong spot and get dunked in icy water. Azrath lay sleeping in his little den, grass and pretty things aligning the little nest he made for himself. As the sun rose and shone through the opening, the little male shifted and stretched the sleep from his bones, giving himself a bath before presenting himself to his pack in their new home. Home. That’s what this was. He felt safe, secure with his pack in a place of their very own. Warmth washed over him as he listened to the happenings around the camp. He watched as Hye-su made her rounds around camp, never seeming to sleep, always needing something to do to keep her paws busy; Moose searched for something to do, waiting for his friends to awaken; Rowan greeting everyone as they awoke and Junichiro seeming to reside slightly away from everyone else in their common grounds, a shadow watching but not speaking, watchful eyes scanning for any job that needed to be done. Of course, Azrath honed in on the newer jet colored wolf, he had grown attached some would say preferring his General’s presence to most others if only for the simple fact that he thirsted for more knowledge. Junichiro hadn’t been promoted for nothing, his scars were not given by a little spat either, he had wisdom in battle, and it was clear. Perhaps that’s why he was so quickly promoted to such an important rank. Azrath couldn’t help but look up to the male. As Rowan spoke to moose, the alabaster wolf swiveled his ears towards the conversation. Ebony colored ears flicked when he heard the apprentice’s names called, straining once he heard his name. He had intended to ask Juni if he would like to train him some more in sparring but as he heard “first big game hunt” He knew the thrill of the hunt was something to thrive for, but he could only imagine the pride and the adrenaline rush that came from bringing down prey like a moose. Almost immediately, Azrath jumped up, searching for his brother, Simon, to nudge him excitedly awake. Snow-colored eyes fell on his sibling, their pelts as different as their personalities, before he sprinted, jumped and landed on his sleeping brother. “Simon! A moose! A hunt! We get to hunt a moose! Get up!” he prodded, gripping a jet colored ear between his teeth and tugging slightly if his body weight didn’t wake the other. @simonn Alpha Rowan @junichiro Scout Hye-Su

Beta WingnutIf I Don't Understand, You are the one at fault
Time skip: 2 months The move had been successful. They hadn't lost any wolves on the way, which was the expected outcome for such an excursion. The members of Sorelus were old enough to fend for themselves well in the winter's bitter grip. Losing one of them would have been a freak accident. That wasn't to say that the ranks of Sorelus hadn't changed. Junichiro was made General, young Joy the Sentinel while Raisa officially became Rowan's mate. They had also welcomed five new members, Moose, Edon, Valencia, Cecil, and Kodiak. Each of them were a valuable asset to Sorelus. Cecil, though old and practically useless in the hunting grounds, was a skilled Salutary. Sorelus' lack of a wolf that truly knew herbs could have proved deadly had they not accepted Cecil. Valencia's eagerness to learn had quickly won over the hearts of Rowan and Cecil. She had quickly become the grizzled male's apprentice. The scenery change had been quite drastic as well. Traversing a short distance up the mountains they found had been a well-calculated risk. Despite the snow drifts currently hiding the landscape fully, it was very economical in terms of placement. The hunting grounds were not far away, the pond at the centre provided a freshwater drinking source, and the hot springs she found were within a short distance. At first, she had been reluctant to share the location of the pools with Rowan, She felt almost content in their waters, and in a blink of selfishness, she wanted to keep them to herself. However, that would not benefit the pack at all. Her treasured pools were revealed when she returned the verdict that there was an area of Sorelus that should not be ventured in by any wolf that wished to stay uncovered by boiling water. Wingnut had been awake for nearly an hour. Laying half in and half out of her spacious den, she was able to observe all going on in the commons. No doubt Rowan was awake due to sudden onset fatherhood, but one of the first wolves to roam the commons on this morning was Hye-Su. Rowan had truly taken the young she-wolf under his wing on their journey. The scout had become dedicated to her job, a quality that Wingnut could respect within the yearling. Silently, the Beta observed Moose pacing around the frozen pond. The large male seemed to still feel out of place withing Sorelus; a pack member but not quite a member of the family. To Wingnut, all of the members of Sorelus were the same. Each one was a respected member of the pack, but only one was family. Her brother seemed not to be awake yet, but no matter. He would rouse eventually. At last, Wingnut emerged from her den. Rowan had done the same, moving first to address his pacing hunter. “Morning Moose, why don’t you and the rest of the hunters take a day off? Relax; get to know each other a little better. Don’t worry about today’s hunting. I’ve got it covered. You can just let Kodiak and Edon know once they wake up. I’ll try and talk Cecil into giving Valencia the day off too. Can’t make any promises though. Don’t be afraid to have fun!” the scarred male always seemed to have a nice way of crafting his words. Wingnut, on the other hand, did not. With amber eyes trailing after him as he set a hunting assignment for all the apprentices, the Beta strode up to the beige male. "Moose," she began simply, the male's name falling off her tongue with no particular grace, "Once Kodiak and Edon wake up and join us here, follow me to the hot springs so that you can get comfortable with your pack members more. Helios and Junichiro, if you do not have anything else to do, joining us would be beneficial so that there is more social interaction." The Beta's gaze swung to the cantankerous General as she spoke, emotionless eyes assisted greatly by words in inviting the male to the hot springs. She didn't want to simply abandon the male in the commons; she knew he hadn't ventured to the pools yet. After waiting a few more minutes for the other members of the relaxation 'party' to awaken, Wingnut simply turned towards the hot springs and started walking. She expected that her words had been listened to and that the response would be to follow her as she moved away. She wasn't about to wait for them. If they got lost it would be another chance to problem solve as a team while she could relish in the hot pools alone.

The snowy she wolf tossed and turned in her new den, it had been two months since she had joined Sorelus. Sometimes it was blatantly obvious to her that she was still adjusting to her new pack, not specifically pack life per say, only the new wolves she did not know yet. Her view point was not a negative one, it was one of curiosity and wonder; almost like a pups. A larger part of her thoughts seemed to dwell on a particular pelt, one she had developed a pretty big crush on. Fluffy, light brown and dark grey with a white muzzle, brown eyes to boot. She and Edon had grown close since the pack had accepted them but not intimately, their bond starting to form. Though it was clear to Kodiak that she liked him, some part of her could not see him liking her, he was so hard to read sometimes it was easy for her to doubt. With that thought fresh in her mind she rose from her den, stretching with a soft whine, the snow cold beneath her paw pads. Her blue eyes looked around to spot the Beta Wingnut addressing one of her fellow hunters, Moose, arranging a little trip to the hot springs. White paws carried her toward the pair, wondering if with a name like 'wingnut' if this Beta was any fun. "Right behind you Wingnut." The female called and followed the brown Beta, Leaving Moose near the pond where he had been before. -Exit to The Hot Springs-

Amber eyes swiveled as his alpha addressed him, he hadn't meant to pace around, large ginger paws stopped in place as his ears stood straight up at attention. Can’t make any promises though.” said the alpha. Moose's tail gave a soft wag at his suggestion then he ducked his head politely in agreement "Sure Ro, I'll let them know." he gave a small smile himself as his alpha laughed and told him to have fun, what a charming leader. The large male watched him leave before his attention was stolen by Wingnut, her dark brown pelt stark against the snowy background. Her tone was anything but soft and graceful, but he could not help but find her seriousness adorable, perhaps it was because he could look down at her. "Once Kodiak and Edon wake up and join us here, follow me to the hot springs so that you can get comfortable with your pack members more. Helios and Junichiro, if you do not have anything else to do, joining us would be beneficial so that there is more social interaction." The beta suggested, earning a soft tilt from Moose's head. "I do suppose that would be 'beneficial'." The male borrowed the word she used and gave a soft chuckle, watching as Kodiak traversed through the snow to follow Wingnut toward the Hot Springs, the large male decided he would wait for Edon so he could pass the message on.

-- Time Skip: Two Months --It was hard for Valencia to believe that only two short months ago she and her fellow rogues had stumbled upon the likes of Rowan and his group. The male had been welcoming to all of them, promising them each a place within the pack that he sought to create from the band that followed him with a loyalty that was practically tangible. His promise had not fallen short, as Valencia had been struck with awe by the place that her new Alpha had found for them. Of course, during the months of winter it was sure to look a lot more boring than she imagined it would look once all the snow was melted away from the land, but it didn't stop the naive she-wolf from falling in love with the hills that rolled through the Common Grounds, or the frozen lake that had kept her entertained for hours upon first arriving. Eventually she had gained enough composure to build herself a den right into the side of one of the many hills (that she had to restrain herself from rolling down), a sturdy pine tree providing it's roots to form the roof of the warm and cozy enclosure that now encased her dozing body. It was unusual for the salutary's apprentice to have slept in so late. Normally she was rising with the sun, eager to stick her nose into a new corner of the territory before glueing herself to Cecil like she had done the moment she learnt about the male's skill in healing. It had felt like a dream when Rowan had told her she could study under the elder's guidance, making her determined to prove her worth to both the Alpha and the Salutary. Her first real job had been assisting Cecil when Raisa had gone into labour. Valencia didn't hesitate to dash around the territory seeking the herbs that he required, taking breaks that consisted of her cooing words of encouragement and support to her fellow female as she soon gave birth to two healthy pups. The experience was enough to assure her that she was indeed pursuing the right rank, and one day, she would proudly wear the title of Salutary just like Cecil did, but that day would not come if Valencia didn't hurry up and get her fluffy butt in motion. A yawn cracked her jaw open as she peered past her eyelids, honey optics still glazed over from the joys of sleep. Wasting no time in uncurling herself from the warm corner of her den that she had nuzzled into, Valencia soon emerged from her den, her puffy coat shifting in the chilled zephyr that danced through the morning air. She gazed down at the Commons below, instantly spotting Moose conversing with their Alpha. She couldn't exactly make out what the pair were talking about, but with the entrance of Beta Wingnut, Valencia managed to catch a passing sentence. "Once Kodiak and Edon wake up and join us here, follow me to the hot springs so that you can get comfortable with your pack members more." The thought of an excursion to the hot springs was enough to put a sway in the she-wolf's bushy tail, the warm pools of sulphuric water had been unexplored by the wistful female, and she was eager to change that. However, her duties were elsewhere. While Rowan seemed to have let all of the others off the hook for the day, she would have to take her orders from Cecil. She couldn't just leave the elder high and dry, what if he needed her help for the day? Or maybe he had planned to teach her something? She was happy with this conclusion that she had come to, so instead of following Wingnut in the direction of the deliciously enticing hot springs, she instead ambled down her hill and came to a stop by the edge of the frozen lake, sitting her fluffy rump in the snow and waiting for her mentor to make an appearance for the day.

- Cecil - "Together, we’re gonna rise with the morning light." Creaking joints rose from their nest, grumbles and winces wracking the body that they carried. Cecil had appreciated the nice, comfy nest he was allowed to have in his new home. Sorelus had proven to be one of the best decisions he had ever made. From when he first met Rowan, to joining his pack, to helping the alpha's mate birth his pups - the future to the Sorelus name, and even to taking Valencia as his apprentice. The snowy female had proven to be capable, passionate, and did her job better than most. Honeyed eyes fell upon her figure across the clearing; her haunches sat at the edge of the frozen lake. A warm smile fell across his maw as his ears swiveled to what Rowan was saying. "I’ll try and talk Cecil into giving Valencia the day off too. Can’t make any promises though. " With a playful squint of his eyes, the small salt and peppered male called out to his alpha."I don't know, Rowan, do you think she deserves it?" he chuckled, the rasp in his voice making it lower than he meant but he knew his apprentice would hear him in the very least. He brought his haunches to rest beside his apprentice, nudging her with his shoulder before gazing down on her. "What do you think about a day off, Valencia? Do we think we can risk a day of leisure?" he laughed.

Edon lay curled in his den, his nose pressed comfortably between his stomach and his hind legs. He had been comfortable, the shade keeping the sun from falling on his eyes, but as the sun rose more and more, he couldn't hide from it for much longer. The rays almost blinded him, even with his eyes closed, and he shifted. With a sigh, he blinked the sleep from his eyes, rose with contempt and shook his body out from his sleep. Kodiak and Moose seemed to be missing from their dens, the former's white pelt unable to be seen in the common grounds, but the latter's red-colored pelt - and massive body - could easily be made out among the other wolves of their pack. Tentatively, he stepped out of the warmth of his shelter, eyes set on Moose, before making his way towards him. Affectionately, Edon bumped his shoulder into his friend's, nodding towards Rowan in a way of asking what he had said before he awoke, unfortunately, the Mexican grey wolf had unfortunately missed out. Amber eyes scanned the commons once more, in hopes to see his other, very pretty, friend, Kodiak. The two had grown close as well...well, as close as Edon could let her. Though he had joined this pack with an open mind, he had really only followed Moose. The shy wolf found himself wanting for company but was unable to allow many in. With some...fairly irritating pestering, Moose refused to let Edon go on his way without allowing him to accompany him on his journey to wherever he was going when they were rogues. Along the way, it started to no longer be forced, Edon found him admiring the brute's will to be there for someone he didn't even know. Moose gotten used to how little Edon talked, learning to read his body language and follow simple gestures in conversation. Probably even knew now that even though he feigned interest in the happenings of camp, he was really only looking for one wolf in particular. Hunter Moose

Simon dozes peacefully, sprawled out on his side. The male had found an old badgers den and simply dug it out further; after two months of sleeping within it, the stench of the thing had finally faded. The entrance had...collapsed a little bit, so it provided very little privacy, but it shielded him from the elements. Which was all he wanted, anyways. The black brute’s rest is interrupted, however, by a cold nose nudging him awake. “ Wha- Azrath, whAAAT-“ His lazy question turns into a cut off yell as his brother fucking flings himself atop him, squishing the air out of him and leaving him wheezing. Normally, Simon tunes out Azrath’s excited rambling until he gets to the important stuff, but for once the erratic spill of words catches his interest. Simon! A moose! A hunt! We get to hunt a moose! Get up! They were going to hunt? Them? That was...actually great news. He wonders who else was coming. ”Huzzah, [/b]he utters somewhat breathlessly, still crushed beneath Azrath. There are suddenly teeth at his ear, tugging insistently, and he smacks a paw to his brother’s spotted face, using the leverage to shove him off. Uttering a low growl - part irritation, part play - he gets to his feet before shoving his shoulders and chest against Azrath’s, tackling him bodily out of the den. Rasping snarls and barks are all quiet enough not to draw too much attention, and clearly meant in jest. Gripping his sibling’s scruff, he would shake his head to and fro in an attempt to rattle the alabaster wolf, occasional snickers leaving his maw. It had been some time since they had indulged in a play fight - sparring, now that they were a bit older - but it continued to be an activity that he enjoyed. Plus, the white wolf had asked for it, waking him up like that. The mock fight would go on for as Azrath participated, the two brothers tussling heartily before separating. Now liberally covering in dust and snow, Simon shoots his brother a grin before padding over to Hye-Su and Rowan. “Heard on the grapevine that we’re hunting?” He utters, waggling his brows. He was, for once, in a fantastic mood. Scout Azrath Alpha Rowan Scout Hye-Su

APPRENTICE HYE-SU OF SORELUS
Hye-Su snapped her head as she heard Rowan's voice call to her. Approaching her mentor they met halfway, plum eyes on his chest and feet or looking across the terrain as he spoke. His praise was much needed, as much as she pretended she didn't need such things. Praise to her was what she needed to know she was on the right track. An appreciative nod towards her mentor and a gentle smile appearing her mouth was enough to let anyone know she was happy.
"An adventure?" she asked, eyes for a moment jumping to his one before going back to look out at the others. She spotted Az easedropping, but they weren't speaking privately so she wouldn't care what he heard. A hunt, huh, just them? Were they ready? If Rowan thought they were this would be an excellent time to prove their skills, not only to Rowan but to the rest of the pack. She spotted the white apprentice excitedly make his way to Simon's den. Soft chuckle left her black lips as she heard him wake his brother. Hearing that Twizzle would be observing from the sidelines settled some of her concerns, but the idea of a moose felt much too dangerous. Finally, Rowan asked her what her she would say to his suggestion.
"Well," she started but Simon was approaching. He wiggled her eyebrows and for a moment and she became was enthralled at that action. Immediately her own scrunched together in an attempt to move before she stopped herself. She could feel the heat rise to her cheeks as he quickly looked away from the male, hoping he hadn't seen her failed attempt at eyebrow wiggles. "Heard on the grapevine we're hunting?" His voice spoke to them in greeting, her own eyes flickering back to his body as he stopped in front of them.
"Yes, we will be hunting," she answered before Rowan, "but not a moose unless we create a plan that is safe for everyone, the risk of anyone's life does not outweigh the reward of getting a moose." Her tone was steady and sharp, still quiet and as always, extremely feminine. She hoped her two peers would agree and understand.
Turning to Rowan, "Should we bring along Valencia? Or leave her in the care of Cecil?" Even if Valencia was a salutary apprentice but Hye-Su wondered if the girl would like to join in on the hunt as well. If Rowan agreed, she would make her way to Cecil and Valencia by the lake.
"Valencia," she would call gently on the wind, "I would like to the extend the offer of joining us on a hunt?" Hye-Su would nod her head to the other apprentices gathering to show who she meant by 'us'.
If Rowan disagreed with her joining she would not in understanding. Turning to Simon and Azrath, "Lets grab Karini and Niqo and head to the hunting grounds." Whoever they picked to go grab, Hye-Su would go to the other's den.
"Wake up," she would yell loudly, only time her voice would be raised. "Our first hunt has been assigned, meet us in the hunting grounds promptly," she would say once she heard some movement or a noise to signal the owner of said den was awake. Stepping away, she turned to the two boys before trotting towards the hunting grounds. Excitement blossomed in her chest.
If the other two were down, she would turn this into a small race. Her ability to express emotions and feel comfortable in play activities grew more and more each month she was with the pack. Her ability to be herself and grow into whoever she wanted caused Hye-Su to be more approachable and vocal than before. More often you could see her smiling than a stoic or blank expression. Although, that is still her resting face when she isn't focused on her outward expression.

| J O Y loneliness is poverty
Joy had already "scouted" the entirety of the northern outskirts by the time the sun had risen. She watched it climb from the east over the peaks, and by the time she returned to the common grounds with her hair matted from her windy runs, it peered between the two mountains facing the coast. She wanted to go up there someday to watch it rise. She could stay there all day, watching the waves from above, and in the evening strive for no more than a pivot to watch the sun set behind her new home. Until then, she accepted its warm light from afar, completely content with her new life.
Though, she had been quite disturbed about her new position. Sentinel? Already? She had never foreseen herself ascending any further than becoming a scout, but within only a year she had become a superior. She was damn good at her job and she loved it more than she could have ever imagined⏤the freedom to explore any territory she pleased had given her the sense of belonging to this earth that she had been injuriously lacking until now⏤yet she wondered if this was a punishment.
When she arrived to the commons, the apprentices, her former pupils and "friends," were adventuring on a hunt together. The hunters, whom she was less familiar with but still considered to exist within her social group, were on their way to the hot springs to enjoy each other's company, and simply that. And so Joy was here, the younglings gone, left with the police of the bunch. The superiors, which she now was, and from which felt much disjointed. So, she thought, was this a punishment? Was she not friendly enough with the subordinates? Did they not like her enough to accept her into their groups? Did her superiors think it was best for Joy to be removed from them completely? Whatever the answer was, she accepted it. She didn't deny her lack of social compatibility with those younger than her, her inability to form meaningful relationships with her peers, her independence. Still, she longed for something that would make her feel her age. Like, perhaps, adventuring on a hunt with her friends and commencing a grand feast filled with laughs, howls, games, jokes, praise, whatever her kind did. But alas she would have to make her stay with the rest of the superiors into something enjoyable for herself as best she could.
She had disconnected from Raisa on a number of levels. Joy was no longer her daughter-figure and had grown out of her need for motherly validation. Her new role justified every reason not to feel pressured by the approval of her old peers, though she often felt weighed down by this regardless. Hye-su and Karini were her only support system besides the vast valleys of the outskirts, which she frequented probably more than the commons.
So she was torn by her options. The apprentices were off on a hunt; Joy was a splendid hunter, and perhaps they could use her help. It would also be a good opportunity to try to wriggle her way back into the clique. The hunters, ironically, were off on a vacation; she liked vacations, but she took them every day on her scouting missions. The superiors were doing adult things; she could learn from them, though her most valuable mentor had just left to the springs.
There was one group she had failed to acknowledge until now. The salutaries. They weren't quite superiors, not quite subordinates, but perhaps two of the most essential members of this pack. How much could Joy love herself if she was useful? That's what she wanted, to love herself. Hence, she made her way to them. Cecil and Valenica. Her heart was pounding as she formulated a respectful and coherent formation of words that would generate the response she desired, though her stress was completely masked by her sheer beauty. She hoped.
"Good morning," she said timidly with the only smile she knew to offer in any given social situation. A simple one, eyes bent with the slightest effort to produce the appearance of empathy, for she knew she may have been intruding on their business. Her smile was beautiful, her eyes even more, and her angelic voice was embellished with dulcet tones, though it was not revealed often. "If you have business today, I would like to join you, if that's alright. I'm interested in learning."
