Once the Alpha had given his orders, Niqo immediately was on his feet and ready to go. The male's cheerful and eager attitude had remained with him from his pup hood til now, and he retained his manners, as well. Though this task seemed a little more daunting than the usual hunt, I mean mountain lions weren't usually a friendly bunch, he still faced it with a ready-to-go attitude and was confident in his pack that they would be fine. Walking out alongside his fellow adolescents, he trots on to the Hunting Grounds, happy to be participating and with his fellow pack members.

R A I S AGuardian of Sorelus
It had been a few months since her birthing their first litter, and it seemed that pregnancy was always going to present in Raisa’s life. Her belly was once more swollen with her and Rowan’s pups. Not that she minded in the slightest. After she had weaned Quinn and Sirius it had not taken long for her to notice the telltale signs that she was pregnant once more. Cecil had only confirmed this as she had visited him once she was almost certain. He had helped her quite a bit, especially after the discovery that she was long overdue. The belly that she had grown was painfully huge, and she wondered what exactly was keeping the little bundles of joy from popping out. Quinn and Sirius had been relatively on time, but it was far too long in the pregnancy for Raisa to not worry that maybe her second litter had something wrong with it. Rowan had been there for her whenever she needed anything. Although Raisa was independent and could do most things for herself, the worry that overcame her was enough to have her asking him for help. She felt a gentle nudge, and then the wrapping of his body around her and she whined a bit, her belly shifting and making things all the more uncomfortable. She gave a small shaking of her head and rose eyes finally appeared as she looked to her mate. “I don’t think so my love. I’ll take the boys with me to see Cecil today,” She said, knowing that it was a short walk. But with the uncomfortable belly she had, it felt like miles. Getting up, she looked to Quinn and Sirius, giving them a small nudge. “Come on, let’s go surprise Grandpa Cecil,” She said warmly through the pained expression on her face. She pushed it aside however. Anyday. They would be here soon and this would be over. She would wait as long as she needed to for these little bundles to arrive. Following Rowan out of their shared den, she looked upon the Sorelus Common Grounds. She had only gotten a moment to explore the rest of the territory with Rowan, but it was enough before she became pregnant once again. Moving to listen to her mate, she shifted towards the Salutary den. Cecil had found a love, Grizelda. The she-wolf was an old timer just like Cecil, but Raisa had grown fond of her. She hoped that she would not be interrupting anything as she came to the mouth of Cecil’s den. “Cecil… I don’t mean to interrupt,” her sweet voice carried. “I just wanted to check in with you and see if there was anything you could do to lessen the pain slightly,” she softly spoke, waiting for the Salutary to come out. “I also brought a couple of visitors as well,” She nudged her two boys if they were to have followed her. If they had not, she would have left the sentence completely out and instead would wait patiently for the Salutary to be ready once more to evaluate her belly and hope that he had some good news for her. While she waited, she took note of Azrath, Simon and Joy. The three had been the pups that she interacted with the most when she was first brought into Rowan’s group and my, had they grown. Azrath in particular. He was so large, it took Raisa a minute to even glance up at him. She wore a proud smile. The three had grown, but she especially proud of him. “Azrath, you’ve grown so much,” She breathed, not knowing if he would hear her or not. She was not sure if they would ever consider her as their ‘mother’ but she would like to think that she held a resemblance to that among most of the younger wolves. Amber oculars watched as his alpha seemed to take a moment or two to think about the suggestion he had laid out in front of him. HE hoped the superior did not think it was just some love struck juveniles excuse to spend more time with his new mate. It was namely the plan of action that made the most sense and the fact that Moose trusted no one else with his beloved mate's safety. Who better to protect her than him. A soft yet triumphant smile spread on his lighter colored maw as Rowan agreed, mentioning that they would work well together then, right he was. The large male gave his alpha a soft how of his head after he had suggested he go fetch Edon and Kodiak to send them off on a hunting party too. He wondered what the two could be up to, he cast a glance to Valencia, knowing she was sent off to inform Cecil of both his and her current mission. "I'll meet you in the hunting grounds, don't be too late." he added with a soft smile, then he swiped his tongue gently over her cheek and brushed his shoulder against hers, going off to find Edon and Kodiak while Rowan, Wingnut and Helios headed off toward the Hunting Grounds, he would meet them there.

The sight of Rowan standing atop a perch in order to address everyone marked the beginning of a busy morning. Though not entirely in plain view, lain below the shade of a large tree, she and Edon press their sides against one another. Light brown and warm honey tones meshing together as they share the warmth beneath the cool the shade offers, spring was here finally and she hoped it would stay longer than winter had. A large brown paw caught her attention as Edon reached it out, placing it atop her white one. Her cheeks felt warm beneath her light pelt at the gesture. It was such a soft, gentle thing to do for a wolf that she viewed as so strong and brave, stoic even. Edon came off as reserved to those who did not have the strength to get beneath his skin as Moose had. As for her, it was not quite abundantly clear why he was not so reserved around her, though she had guessed he may have been a little bit sweet on her after the whole incident at the springs with the water and the choking along with Wingnuts complete disregard for his tomfoolery. Blue oculars moved to look at Edon, her ear closest to him swiveling a bit to point directly at him while the other faced straight forward, she could hear Rowan addressing everyone, proposing a plan no doubt, but she could not quite hear exactly what he was saying. She was too busy wondering what the two could get up to today if Rowan did not have anything specific for them to do. Maybe sneak off on another 'hunting trip' where they would talk endlessly and walk alongside eachother, always sure to come back with some kind of kill so no one would suspect them. It was then she turned her head to watch a big amber form she was all too familiar with turn to show Valencia some affection before sniffing the air in an effort to find someone, them, it would turn out as he padded toward where the two were 'hiding'.

- Cecil - "Together, we’re gonna rise with the morning light." Cecil slept soundly the night before, nestled warmly against his lover, her similar salt and peppered pelt melding with his own to create one small mess of tangled legs and and gentle breaths. He knitted his brows together, a small grumble escaping his maw as Grizelda made her way out to the commons, the cold air filling the space she once did causing his body to shiver. Honeyed eyes blinked slowly, his surroundings starting blurry before clearing as his sights honed in on his love. His bones creaked as he shoved himself up with his front legs, and his hips locked as he rocked himself back and then forth to pull himself up to a standing position and moved over to the stores of herbs he had. The old man perused the leaves, petals and stems before finally, he found what he was looking for. Cecil took a few daisy leaves in his maw, chewed on them for a few moments and finally swallowed; a daily routine he had now. The he-wolf grabbed a few more and walked them out the Griz, offering them to her, explaining what they were used for and if she would refuse, he would disappear into the den to restock them before taking the time to come out and hear the pack announcements. Resting next to her, his pelt pressed softly into hers, the smaller wolf listened to what Rowan had to say. He felt grateful he had the foresight to gather any blooming herb when Spring sprung into action, now he was well stocked for any situation, including mountain lion bites and scratches. The voice of his apprentice rung through the commons, offering her help on the field and a small burst of pride exploded in his chest. He was happy she was so eager to help her packmates in the field and relived she could pick up where he slacked due to his age. He didn't even try to ask if they wanted him out there too with the other search party - there'd be no way he could ever keep up with them and the slow ambling pace would never allow them to pursue their target and could potentially make him the target as well. Instead, Cecil made his way back into his den, gathering a few herbs here and there to wrap into a nice leaf sachel, ones he knew were less likely to be found and coming out to deliver it to his apprentice. With a gentle sigh, he came next to her, pressing his pelt fondly into hers before placing the small pouch beside her. "Be careful. Theres wild garlic, burdock root, sorrel and some dock. Everything else should be easily found while you are out." Cecil made his way back to Griz, placing himself slowly beside her as she asked what his plans were for the day when he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. "Well, I need to check on Raisa, who seems to be able to read minds." He chuckled. "Just the girl I was looking for. No signs of labor yet?" She seemed like any day she would burst, she was past due and honestly, it worried Cecil a bit. He'd spent a few nights trying to make concoctions to induce the females labor, but obviously, his attempts were failures. He hadn't stopped trying though. Little pups followed behind her, excitedly trying to keep up with their mother's much longer stride and a smile found its way onto Cecil's maw as he laid down on his stomach to greet the small creatures. "Why,"he started, looking suprised. "This can't be young Quinn and Sirius who I just saw the other day? You've gotten much bigger! Dare I say you could take down a mighty Grizzly now!" At Raisa's question, he allowed a doggy grin to find his maw again, rising to his paws once more. "Now Raisa, you know you could never intrude on me."The he-wolf chided softly, a feigned look of disappointment knitted his brows together before he returned to the smile. "One moment."Turning on his heel, Cecil made his way back to his sores, looking upon what he had and weighing what would be best to give her. Poppy seed would make her drowsy and she had only just gotten up. He shook his head, continuing his search. Raspberry would be a good choice but he'd rather keep it until she started contractions, in case he needed to ease her pain and help stop any bleeding that shouldn't happen. A hum vibrated in his throat, he seemed to be running out of options. A small "Ah" found its way out of his maw as he fell upon some willow bark. He hadn't gathered much, but now that spring was thriving, he thought he should go out soon and collect some more, now that he didn't have to worry about the bark refusing to grow back properly from the cold. And luckily, he only needed a small amount anyway. Cecil gripped the bark in his maw and snapped off a bit, putting the excess back and trotting out with the small bark in his maw. "It doesn't seem like much, but I promise it will help." He said before dropping it at her paws. Chew it for a few seconds before swallowing. It's not the tastiest, but it'll do the job and it'll do it well."Gilded eyes softened before he continued. "I'm still trying to find a good mix for you to induce labor, however if I take much longer, it won't be needed."a hardy laugh rumbled within his chest once more.

Cinnamon hues mixed with Honeyed furs as Edon lay comfortably beside Kodiak, her azure oculars never seeming to want to leave his. His voice almost cracked with nervous jitters, you'd think he hadn't met her a few months before. Edon couldn't help but act like a love-struck pup around her, her voice, her fur, the intensity of her eyes all made him insecure in a way, unsure of how to approach her, but made him excited all the same. A broad muzzle found its way to his companion's ear, the one directed at him anyway, as he whispered sweet nothings in her ear, along with playful jabs and laughter filled jokes. He could feel his heart thu-thumping heavily every time he moved his head back so gilded eyes, the color of fire, met hers, a water so cool it put the flames out.
Rowan had spoken to the pack, and though he hated seeming like a lazy lout, he couldn't help but agree when Kodiak invited him beside her in the early morning light. The two had watched the sunrise together, the night sky changing into an explosion of colors varying from purple, to pink to orange and finally to a calming light yellow. And even though he had hoped to listen to the pack announcements, he couldn't help but feel he belonged next to Kodiak, her warmth enveloped him and her scent cause his fur to prickle in delight.
Without a second thought, Edon moved a massive paw to lay over Kodiak's, reveling in any closeness he could get and from the lack of resistance, he assumed she had as well. Although, when all had went quiet, and a familiar ginger coat approached, an inward groan caused pricked ears to fall flat against his cranium, as he knew, their time together must come to an end for the time being. Pressing his cheek against hers momentarily, he rose to his paws and smiled towards his friend. "Moose, I can only assume you've come to fetch us. What does our fearless leader have planned for us today?"

Shortly after she had voiced her willingness to accompany the group, it was none other than Moose who came to her side and backed up her idea as Rowan seemed to mull it over. Valencia gave a soft brush of her tail against the ginger male's rump, a silent thank you for supporting her with such confidence in front of their Alpha. “Alright,” he decided, Val's entire face glowing with happiness as her tail began to sway behind her, “I trust you’ll work well together then. Valencia, go and gather any of the herbs you might need, and kindly inform your mentor that he will be remaining at the Commons with Raisa, Grizelda, and the pups. Moose, fetch Edon and Kodiak. I doubt they’d like to miss out on this.” A small giggle broke from her lips as she receded from Rowan's podium, giving the male a bobbing bow before adding a polite and sweetly spoken, "Thank you!"It was strange to think how far she had come in the last passing months. If herself from all that time ago was standing in her current position, she would have perhaps been horrified by the thought of walking into danger with the expectations for her to heal whoever may have gotten injured. She would have been repulsed at the mere thought of blood, completely mortified to imagine watching a mountain cat sink it's claws into one of her own pack-mates. But here she stood, with confidence swelling in her chest as she stood beside her mate and before her Alpha, both of them believing in the confidence that had bloomed within her ever since she found her place in Sorelus. Unfortunately, there was no time for her to be thinking back on the likeness of her past, she had been instructed to find Cecil and inform him of her absence for today. Though it seemed that this would be more than easy to achieve as she shifted honeyed eyes to lay on the peppered male as he approached her, a sleeve fashioned from a leaf cradling a bundle of herbs, their familiar scents drifting under her keen nose as her mentor stood before her. Valencia gave the older man a warm smile as he placed the neatly gathered bundle at her paws. "Be careful. Theres wild garlic, burdock root, sorrel and some dock. Everything else should be easily found while you are out." She nodded to confirm her understanding, the scents of each individual plant becoming prominent as Cecil spoke their names. They were also basics when it came to soothing scratches and preventing infection. If there were any cases of deep wounds she would surely be able to find some foxglove or horsetail within the mountain-forests closer to their destination for the day, but she was already incredibly grateful for the pouch that her mentor had provided. "Thank you gramps, I won't let you down," she said before taking the satchel in her maw, carrying it as gently as possible hoping that she wouldn't damage any of the precious foliage inside its wrap. As Cecil left, Moose returned, and with his presence came a goofy smile stretching into the corners of her maw, threatening to cause a spillage of the herbs she was clinging on to with her gentle grip. "I'll meet you in the hunting grounds, don't be too late." Valencia hummed as he swiped his tongue against her cheek and brushed his shoulder against her own. Mocha eyes gleamed as she looked up at the wolf who managed to fill her heart with enough love that it felt like her chest was about to explode in the best way possible. "Yeh, I wull see yu der." She spoke through her mouthful of flora like an absolute dork. She watched with admiration shining in her proud eyes as her mate left her side to find Edon and Kodiak, a content sigh pushing past her toothy bundle before she shifted herself to begin in the direction that Rowan had started to lead.

Azrath watched Simon's display of disinterest with his normally riling actions, squinting with a smile as he saw a hint of eagerness to wrestle. He was almost disappointed when his brother did not lunge at him or try to overpower him like they did when they were younger, but Simon was all about appearances, they were almost fully fledged wolves now, no time for puppish behavior, Azrath thought otherwise. But all the same, he rose to his paws as Simon had and followed his brother over to his fellow ivory sentinel, a smile on his maw and a polite 'Hello, Joy.' "We ready?" He began, making his way towards the borders.

His heart still gently fluttered at the image of Valencia, big medicine bag fashioned out of herbs hanging from the goofy grin that painted her features playing over and over in his mind. He wondered how it was possible for a wolf to be so cute without even trying. He was wrapped around her dainty paws and there was no where else he would rather be. It pleased the large male greatly to find Edon and Kodiak laying together beneath the shade of a large tree, a larger brown paw lain atop a smaller alabaster one. A sense of pride swelled up in him, his most reserved friend, best friend even, was over here, finally expressing his feelings for the she wolf he had been crushing on since the two met her in the rogue lands what felt like so long ago. The white female said nothing, though her pretty blue eyes landed on him, acknowledging his presence as he padded over, stopping a few feet in front of them; Edon's deeper voice resounded in his ears, amber eyes landing on Kodiak's current companion. "Moose, I can only assume you've come to fetch us. What does our fearless leader have planned for us today?" the Mexican hunter asked. His large ears flicked a little bit as he wondered what else these two would have gotten up to today had Rowan not insisted on rooting out the cougar threat that had been interfering with their packs life. "You know me too well, Edon."Moose chimed with a smile before continuing. "Rowan has assigned hunting groups to rid us of the mountain lions we've been seeing about...sent me to come fetch you both."His eyes move from Edon to Kodiak before venturing back to Edon, trying to read him, he had gotten quite good at it; especially after finally prying his way through the hunters hardened shell. "Kody" he called, looking to the female "You got paired with Wingnut, Helios and Ro."The large amber male turned his head to then face Edon "and you, my friend got paired with Jun, Val and yours truly. Each group is intended to take down one lion...Better get moving, they already went off ahead so I could grab you lovebirds." he teased with a smile on his maw before turning away from them, padding off in the direction Valencia had went with her medicine bag, her soft scent was not hard for him to pick out and follow. -Exit to: Sorelus Hunting Grounds-

| J O Y loneliness is poverty
From the mouth of the lake, the lonely sentinel fixed her gaze upon the shimmering water on the other side, inventing bold scenarios in her head that she were certain would never come to be. Some of them featured Simon, guest-staring his far better brother, while others pictured her free in the rogue lands with nobody and nothing but her own will to answer to. Only once did a distant hope of seeing her real parents again venture into her many thoughts, but she abandoned it quickly, yet fading images of her father and clips of his warm voice still played in the back of her mind like a ghost record.
"'Ello Joy."
Daddy?
She turned around as a breath escaped her, only for her heart to be sent into a frenzy as she became overcome with shame and dread. Rowan had always shown her kindness and affection, and had always offered her confidence and praise that she could never accept from him. It was a wonder why she was so afraid of him⎯everything about him, really; his face, his voice, his dominance, his love. Perhaps it was embracing the part he was meant to play, letting herself be instilled with the praise of a father she missed from her own, that scared her far greater than his self.
“Got a bit of a mission for you. It’s been a while since we’ve had some new blood in Sorelus, don’t you think?”
No.
“I’d like for you to take some time and scout out the rogue lands. Take Simon and Azrath; never hurts having a spare pair of eyes."
Joy choked. "Wait-"
"Take some time, look around, and if there’s anyone that needs help — well, you already know the drill by now. Good luck. Raisa and I will be expecting you back in time.”
Her head and ears dropped, but her voice suddenly acquired a third octave. "O-o-okay." Why not Hye-su? She was a far better scout than Simon. Joy sighed, her heart racing, flesh warm under her fur and blush beneath her ivory mask. What if she makes a mistake? What if she trips? What if he has to swoop in and save her because she is too paralyzed by him to notice a predator? He already thinks she's useless. Right? And Azrath, the sweet boy, how she would hate to see him unsatisfied with her. It would be a great offense to her intellect.
When she heard the angelic formulation of the words, "we ready," her limbs immediately proceeded to flail as they searched for a position that appeared naturally placed, as she thought it would be Simon offering a wickedly witty remark to her baffled being. Instead, it was his brother, Azrath, who gave her a most settling smile.
"Yeah," she said disgruntled, brows even edging her hazelnut eyes, but her anger was pent towards Rowan, who, cleverly and dickishly, assigned the two to her. She checked Simon's position before continuing. She knew where she wanted to go: back to Aurora. But it was well over a day's trip, and they'd be spending the better part of their mission trying to stay fed, hydrated, and rested. She would have to wait until she had more time. Until then, she would stay within her confines. As always.
"I traveled through the pines a few days ago, just northwest of here. It's a small area, quiet and teeming with small game. A perfect densite for travelers. If we're looking for a workable candidate, we'll find them there. Let's go."
Joy took off, pleasantly surprised at how easily she could take charge when under pressure to do so.

Little brown paws were on the move once again after his mothers warm nose gave him a nudge, mentioning that he and his brother would go surprise grandpa Cecil. "Grandpa Cecil?!"Quinn exclaimed excitedly, his little brown butt giving a strong wiggle as his mother mentioned the salt and pepper salutary. Quinn found the elder wolf to be supremely charming and soft, but he wasn't exactly sure why nor was he old enough to ponder on things as deep as such. He simply knew he was trustworthy because his mother interacted with him and he seemed important. Quinn did his best not to trip over his paws, feeling off balance and clumsy most often, like his feet were too big for his body sometimes. He did his best to follow after his mother who luckily wasn't that fast because she was too busy waddling like some kind of weird white penguin. "Mommy you look silly."he said as they arrived at the salutary den before completely forgetting his current train of thought at the sight of Cecil. "Grandpa!"He exclaimed as loudly as he could, running over to the larger black salutary who laid on his stomach in an effort to be eye level with he and his brother. He giggled as the salutary marveled at their growth and insisted they could take down a mighty grizzly. Quinn was sure he was right and gave a hardy giggle, his tail never ceasing to wag as he then walked beneath Cecil, weaving through his paws and into the Salutary's den. This place smelled really weird!

With a sigh, Edon watched as Moose followed Valencia's sweet scent to the hunting grounds, smiling as he imagined the hunter practically floating after her with huge heart eyes. His broad cranium swiveled back, locking his amber eyes with the beautiful she-wolf he had lain with just moments before padding towards her, he pressed his forehead to hers, reveling in the feel before he turned back to follow his massive ginger friend, after all, they had some huntin' to do and he would make sure the job got done quickly and efficiently. Edon wouldn't allow a mountain lion to hurt his family. "C'mon Kodi."

The pretty she-wolf watched the little exchange between the two best friends, listening as Moose conveyed the plan for the hunt with his usual charm, to the point but in a very casual way. The amber male didn't speak very formally, nor did he conduct himself in such a manor, he came off as a very relaxed yet caring individual all the while harnessing some degree of humor and lightheartedness to his every action. She admired how different he was from Edon and how the two unlikely friends had come together, perhaps opposites truly did attract. Rising to cream colored paws, the blue eyed lupine watched as Edon walked closer to her, pressing his forehead to hers for a few seconds, seeming to savor the soft fur pressing into hers. The soft gesture made her heart feel sort of fuzzy in her chest, lower stomach fluttering too, it was moments like these that made her not question her decision in deciding to get close to Edon, he had a soft exterior to him now many were aware of. She then heard her handsome consort call after her, referring to her as her short nickname she was becoming accustomed to, but only if it came from him. Her tail swayed softly at the thought, following alongside him as they padded after where their alpha had lead a few of their packmates off to. -Exit to: Sorelus Hunting Grounds-

Naturally, all that was on her lovely darling's mind was the pressing matter of getting the Alphess to give birth. Quinn and Sirius had already been growing up when she first arrived, so Griz considered this late litter as her adopted grandbabies. Never having pups herself - always too busy being a Beta, fighting a war, or simply walking through the rogue lands trying to survive - Grizelda never found the right male or the right time to make a family. But now she had Cecil, and all of Sorelus to be her family 0 a growing family at that! The matriarchal female smiled to the Alphess as she approached with her two sons. The antics of her love and the two youngest members warming her aging heart. Lustrous golden eyes watched as Cecil emerged from his den of wonders with a bundle of herbs for the Alphess to eat. Without much knowledge about herbs, Patty loved watching her fellow elder's mind whirr as he sifted through years of expertise. Surely, he would be able to get Raisa's labor going soon enough. Turning to the less adventurous of the two pups, Griz inquired, "And what about you Sirius? Are you excited for new siblings?"Guardian Raisa Salutary Cecil Sirius Pup Quinn

Dark, charcoal fur had begun to thin in the spring months, but her thick winter fur was still shedding heavily, though she could tell it was almost at its end. Silver eyes stared emptily ahead of her, she had fallen further and further into her depressed state the longer she had been here, and over the last months of winter her brain had not failed in forcing her to relive her past over and over again. She hated herself for it, she could barely do anything anymore, just wandered about the camp or the hunting grounds never really doing anything. Karini had become like a waste of space, and her lack of consistent eating habits didn’t help her energy levels at all, just made her that much more lazy and inefficient. The young female had begun to wish that the pack would just chase her out, it was not like she was important or valuable, what little she did contribute was not nearly enough to make up for what she took away. However, the thought of being forcibly removed from the pack still terrified her, she would die if she were all alone, she could barely summon the energy to hunt anymore, without the pack she knew that she would soon waste away to nothing, even despite the fact she was still wasting away while in the pack. Karini’s silver eyes traveled around the common grounds, she had just pushed herself up off the ground, her shedding fur was making her ribs much more visible than they should have been, and what little muscle had once been on her body was almost completely gone as of now. Alpha Rowan was already gone as well, she had missed the mountain lion hunting party, of course she had, she couldn’t even hunt for her pack successfully, how would she ever protect them from a mountain lion? The light gray she wolf moved out of the sun, ears pinned back to her head and eyes staring at the ground as she walked. Maybe she should ask Alpha Rowan to demote her, that would probably be best, she wasn’t contributing where she needed to be, and being an omega wouldn’t be hard. Maybe that was the punishment she needed, the punishment she deserved rather. Karini huffed as she once more laid down under the shade of one of the many trees surrounding the pond of their commons. Her head lowered to the ground slowly as she watched the ripples of the water on the small shore, it was beautiful, but she was still in no place to consider the beauty of anything at the moment, as depressed and worthless as she was feeling she doubted she would ever find beauty in anything ever again.
