Karini has been growing each day . not only physically but also emotionally. The fearful and shy little wolf was slowly taking its leave, but of course, she still had some of it. She still found it hard to talk to others and have a good self - confidence. And at times she didn't trust her skills enough to think herself as a worthy wolf, as someone who deserves to live in such pack as Solerus. And today somehow she felt a bit sad and concerned. The reasons were unknown to her, and she could only try to hide her bad mood to the pack. And when she got a call, she would walk slowly toward the source, finding Rowan ahead. And she came on time to hear his instructions about bringing a big hunt. This made her ears to pin against her skull, her glare went to the side. She didn't think she would be able to do such a thing. But the good thing was that she wasn't going to do so alone. But she still feared the failure she could bring. But she didn't say anything she just followed Hye-Su. Thinking about how bad she would perform today. She didn't dare to look back at the Alpha she just disappeared toward the hunting grounds. Wingnut swooped in seemingly from the heavens themselves, eagerly instructing Moose to meet her at the Springs. Rowan couldn’t help but crack a small, knowing smile. For such a somber, monotonous she-wolf to find something that she actually enjoyed doing that had no overarching benefits other than her quiet happiness — it was marvelous. And quite entertaining, with the way she’d whisk off the moment her day’s duties were done to bathe and meditate. She deserved a day of rest and relaxation as well, and with the way she bolted off, seemed fully intent on seizing it. Luckily, Kodiak rose from her den just in the nick of time, promptly taking off after catching a cusp of conversation. At least two of the four would make it. Edon groggily emerged, with Moose waiting patiently on the borders brink. “Better hurry up over there!” He teased, playfully tossing a warning to the pair. “Wingnut’s not too keen on waiting! Don’t want to be left behind, do you?”"I don't know, Rowan,” A friendly voice bayed, light with laughter as it rang out. “Do you think she deserves it?" Rowan spun on an onyx heel just in time to spot the elderly healer edging down towards the tips of the frozen lake. Valencia watched patiently, waiting for his final decision with eager, hopeful eyes. Rowan didn’t know about Cecil, but he knew he could never resist a face like that, a fact a few of the apprentices had been a bit too keen to exploit. Luckily for Valencia, Cecil’s expression carried every intention of sating her wishes, especially since Joy slipped in. With another wolf to carry her duties at hand, Valencia would likely be free to venture off to the springs and relax, enjoying the company of her newly made friends. Perhaps after Cecil and Joy were done, it’d suit them both to join. Joy, for the sake of associating with the other hunters, especially since the poor darling was looking so lonely lately, and Cecil, for the sake of his aching joints. “After you two are done,” he called out. “You’re free to join the others! Waters heavenly this time of year, and I think it’ll suit you both just fine.” In the distance, Azrath and Simon were simply buzzing in their dens, entranced by the prospect of a first adult hunt. Hye-Su questioned him briefly before joining, asking whether or not he believed they should bring Valencia along. “Valencia’s a bit of an older gal. I’m sure she’s already had more than her fair share of hunts during her rouge days. This is specifically just for you all. I hope you all enjoy it.” He gave a soft chuckle, gently tapping her with his tail. “Be careful before anything else. You don’t have to kill to be successful as long as you learn from your mistakes. Don’t be dumb, and don’t be rash. This,” He jerked his lame hind leg for effect as he cocked his blind eye forwards. “Is what can happen when you’re both. Take as long as you all need too; there’s no rush to be getting back home. Stay civil, stay friendly, and most importantly, stay kind. Work well as a team, and you’re sure to be successful. We’ll be waiting for you. Best of luck!”With that, there were two wolves left to attend too: Jun and Helios. Jun was already up, awaiting his command. Helios was not. Not that it mattered. It was still quite early anyways, and warriors more than anything needed sleep. He’d let him rest in peace. “Jun,” he barked in greeting as he paced over to the mouth of the den where he lingered. “The day is yours to decide what to do with. If you like, you may follow Wingnut and the hunters to the hot springs, Cecil and Joy on herb collection, or take Helios to the borders edge to spar and remark. Anything you’d like, really,” He quipped with a short laugh. After the male made up his mind, he’d acknowledge his decision with a nod of approval before slipping back home. Back to Raisa, back to Quinn and Sirius, back to the comforts and warmth of his pine den. “Told you I’d be back,” He greeted, gently nipping Raisa’s nose as he stretched out, curled against her. “Hope you didn’t miss me too much. I certainly missed you, and you, and you.” He teased, gently nuzzling each member of his family. @wingnut Salutary Cecil Apprentice Valencia Scout Hye-Su @simonn Scout Azrath @niqo @karini @twizzle Guardian Raisa @junichiro @helios Hunter Edon Hunter Moose Hunter Kodiak

R A I S ARogue Raisa was sleeping peacefully, welcoming the peaceful nature that came with motherhood. The worst part of being pregnant had been the very end; giving birth. Cecil had been a large help, and with her persistent nature and want for the pups to finally be out of her belly, the two bundles arrived rather quickly after her start into labor. The pups couldn’t be more alike, the only difference between the two were their personalities. She had noticed that Quinn was much more of the adventurous one. Right off the bat he had been the one to venture away from her first, while Sirius stayed close. She corralled him back of course, but she found it amusing that he was causing trouble at such a young age. The new territory that they had found was something that took her breath away when she first set eyes on it. It was definitely lands that she hoped her sons would enjoy running and playing through in the future, and that they would grow up peacefully within. Rose eyes flickered open for a moment as Rowan left the den. It was time for him to do Alpha duties, but she hadn’t taken on any responsibilities.
Raisa had kept her rank as Guardian, even with becoming Rowan’s mate. She wasn’t necessarily one for leadership like Rowan was, and although she agreed with him on most things, she didn’t think she was capable of becoming the Alphess of the pack, if not now, then not at all. Sorelus it had been named, which was a spectacular name at that. She was glad that she called this pack home. Guardian entitled her to watch over those that were not yet old enough to be left on their own, which meant pups as well as adolescents that couldn’t handle the responsibility of being an adult quite yet. She had watched over the current young wolves of the pack for some time, Joy being her particular favorite. However, it seemed that the she-wolf had grown up and lost interest in keeping Raisa as a motherly figure, and cast her out of her life. Raisa was indeed saddened by this, especially since she considered Joy to be one of the pups she connected with most. But she couldn’t force her love onto her. So she kept her distance, seeing as how Joy would come to her if she actually wanted to interact with her.
The wriggling bodies of her pups alerted that Quinn had once again ventured a little too far away from her. He was just barely able to walk, and was wobbling and stumbling away from her. Smiling at her son who was quite possibly trying to chase after his father, she leaned forward, neck craning as she grasped his scruff, hearing a displeased yelp come from his maw as she set him down next to her belly once more. The den was quiet besides the small little rasps from the pups as they suckled and let out small little grunts. She groomed Sirius, seeing as his fur was a little disheveled from Quinn’s constant rustling about.
Rowan returned to her shortly after he stopped giving orders to the wolves in the pack. He nipped at her nose which she replied with a headbutt to his chest as he lied down. From what she could see, it would be a beautiful day out today. She wanted to stretch her legs just a bit, but she had no idea who’d watch the pups if that were the case. She didn’t mind spending the time that she did with her family, but being cooped up inside the den was claustrophobic sometimes. As Rowan nuzzeled each and every one of them, she chuckled, pressing up against her mate. It was surreal that she was here, that they were a family. “What are the plans for today?” She asked, hopeful that there was maybe something exciting planned, at least for the other pack members.

"I don't know, Rowan, do you think she deserves it?" The gravelly vocals of her mentor travelled across the lake as he approached, pulling Valencia's attention towards Cecil's peppered figure as he moved towards her. Instantly, a warm smile was spread across her face as her tail began swaying to-and-fro, disturbing the freshly fallen snow beneath her. The salutary's apprentice wasn't cocky or brash, but she knew that she deserved a day to rest. Ever since she arrived in Sorelus she had been doing nothing but learning as much as she could from Cecil. He had taught her how to deliver pups, what herbs they could expect to find in the different areas of their territory, she had even managed to memorise the names and uses of every single plant that he had ever pointed out to her so far. "What do you think about a day off, Valencia? Do we think we can risk a day of leisure?" She giggled at her mentor's teasing, raising to her feet with her head bowed slightly out of respect for her elder and superior. "A Salutary should always be prepared for anything, but that doesn't mean we can't relax every now and then," Valencia replied with a cheeky grin, having decided that she would indeed be able to join the rest of the pack in the indulgence of a visit to the hot spring. Only moments later, a familiar creamy figure appeared by their side. "Good morning," it was none other than Joy, the Sorelus Sentinel. The she-wolf gave another warm grin to the younger female, always happy to see the solitary Sentinel trying her best in the social scene. "If you have business today, I would like to join you, if that's alright. I'm interested in learning." Brilliant! Joy had posed the offer of a helping hand, which meant that if Cecil needed help with anything while Valencia was gone, he wouldn't be stuck on his own. "I'm off to the hot springs, so I guess you can be the honorary Salutary's apprentice for the day," she mused, looked towards with the younger she-wolf with a grateful gaze before she nodded to the pair, dismissing herself. Excitement brewed in Valencia's gut as she began quickly trotting in the direction she had seen Wingnut go, but her trek was quickly stopped as she heard her name being thrown around in conversation by none other than Hye-Su. "Should we bring along Valencia? Or leave her in the care of Cecil?" Bring her along? On the hunt that Rowan had planned? Oh god, she couldn't think of anything worse. Nerves quickly replaced her excitement as she looked towards Rowan, hoping that he wouldn't change his mind and send her off to join the other apprentices with their hunt. She would only prove to be a slow, uncoordinated nuisance, which is why she had earned herself the title of Salutary Apprentice instead of Hunter. So it came as a relief when her Alpha excluded her from the hunting party, making Valencia realise that she had been holding her breath upon its release into the cold winter air. She was smiling again in no time, quickly looking towards Moose before she went any further. It seemed he was hanging back and waiting for the others before he left, so she decided that she would walk slowly and let them catch up to her along the way, just in case she ended up loosing her way and needing help.

The large male sat patiently near one of the edges of the frozen pond toward the center of the commons, Sorelus was starting to wake up and start the day, he noted the appearance of their Salutary; whom he fondly referred to as 'gramps' due to his salt and pepper coat and years of wisdom. Shortly after he spotted Valencia, admiring her honey colored pelt and the soft scent that seemed to follow, just as sweet as she was, how fitting. His attention then fell on his close friend Edon who affectionate bumped his shoulder against his, bringing a soft wag to his large ginger tail. "Edon!" he exclaimed softly as a greeting. "I was wondering when you would wake up." he teased, then informed him. "Rowan gave all of us hunters the day off, now Wingnut has summoned us to the hot springs for some kind of outing. I stayed behind to wait for you." he then stood up with those words, watching as Valencia made her way toward the springs in the same way Wingnut and Kodiak went off. taking a few steps after her, Moose called back to Edon "Kodiak is already there, wouldn't want to keep her waiting huh..?" Moose knew Edon was soft on the female, he would not let the opportunity to tease his stoic friend pass. -Exit to Sorelus Hot Springs-

The older male listened to the goings-on in the commons, as everyone was starting to get up and out. With the thought of a hunt, a few apprentices jumping at the opportunity to try their growing skills and catch a large prey. He almost cracked a smile at their childish curiosity. Rowan allowed everyone to do as they wished so that he could also spend the day in the company of his mate and children. Junichiro would complain about a day off, but they hadn't really rested since arriving in the territory, taking the time to properly scout out the areas and mark the borders and keep watch for the time being to try to see if any enemies may come by. They hadn't found anything yet, so he supposed he could let it go for a day. Then, Wingnut, overhearing her alpha's "orders" for the day's activities, decided to make a task out of relaxing. She was always like this, it seemed, making the smallest things into an ordeal. Relaxing meant doing what they wanted to, where they wanted to, not for her to take things into her own paws and make up a group activity. He grumbled as she directed him and others to follow her and simply walked on, not checking to see if they were following or not. He didn't hate the girl or anything, but she seemed to be largely emotionless and autonomous, like her personality was programmed into her and not born. He didn't understand her at all. He was largely content with just laying at the mouth of his den, keeping watch for any intruders that may need to be dealt with, and protect those that needed protecting, but it seemed a lot of them were following Wingnut, the ones who weren't getting ready for a hunt, that is. Honey eyes slid over to Cecil, and even the diligent salutary appeared to desire to join the excursion to the hot springs. "I guess I can get up today," he muttered and gave a huge sigh, slow to getting to his feet. He dragged his paws as he followed behind the group, deciding that at the very least he could loosen his muscles in the hot springs for a while before getting back to keeping watch. He didn't know exactly why he felt he needed to keep watch and wait, but something in his gut told him something was brewing. He didn't know what it was or when it would happen if it even would happen; he just had a feeling, and he would rather be ready for something that didn't come than not ready for something that would devastate them. As Azrath felt himself being pushed off of his brother, the ivory male fell with less grace than he had hoped, his chest emitting a hollow beat as it collided with Sorelus’s grounds, a playful growl emitting from his throat as he jumped back onto his paws, to shake out the dirt from his pelt before he felt teeth on his scruff. He continued his attack for a few beats before shaking himself out and letting his eyes fall on Karini. She looked less than enthused, terrified, almost. Snowy colored eyes softened as he padded over to her. He hadn’t really interacted with the she-wolf but now would be as good a time as any. “Hey Karini. Worried about the hunt? Don’t worry, I’ll help ya out if you want.” He said, bumping his shoulder into hers affectionately, hoping she didn’t see it as too forward. “Edon!” Moose exclaimed as he came up beside him, bringing a small smirk to the Mexican Grey wolf’s maw. As his ginger friend explained what he had missed out on while he was sleeping, relief washed over him at the thought of a relaxing day at the hot springs with his packmates, and he watched as Moose stood up from his spot. But the next words that fell from his friend’s mouth made an ear flick half with irritation, half with amusement. Moose always made fun of the fact that he had been sweet on Kodiak, never letting up on it. Edon worried one day she might catch on to his jests, fear of rejection rose in his throat. “Oh, haha.” He said, dryly before following his friend to the springs to enjoy their pre-planned, event-filled “relaxing” day, thanks to Wingnut. -Exit to: Sorelus Hot Springs-

Gentle eyes fell upon the small frame of Joy, her meek presence beside him almost instantly. He supposed that was why she was named Sentinel. So hardly spotted, she could maneuver almost anywhere without a second glance. He smiled as she greeted them, so quietly and gentle. And as Valencia had answered his question, he was pleased. "A Salutary should always be prepared for anything, but that doesn't mean we can't relax every now and then," The corners of his eyes squinted as he smiled down at his apprentice, proud of the answer she had given him. “You may go and join the other activities if you wish, Valencia. I believe Joy would be a fine replacement for you today. I’d hate to keep you from getting to know your packmates better. We have plenty time, yet, for herbs.” The peppered male directed his gaze back to the Sentinel at his side. “I’d be pleased to bring you along. I’m sure Valencia has grown tired of my ramblings when we venture out.” He chuckled, the rumble forming deep in his chest. He was happy to share knowledge to those who wanted to learn. The youth of the pack were the future and when he was long gone, he knew what he passed down would be the back-bone of medicine for the pack for years to come. What if Valencia needed help when she took his place? He couldn’t leave her alone without extra help and knowledge where he could give it. In his seven years he had longed for a family, never having found one until he found Sorelus. And he could have never imagined how fast and easily he would fall into his position. His pack was his family, he viewed them all as if they were his children or grandchildren. Cecil shook himself out of the thought, he needed to get settled in his new home and have stores prepared if he needed them. Valencia had learned almost all she could from him, now it was time to teach Joy a thing or two. “What say you we get started, Joy? I had planned on heading to the northern border, there’s plenty of herbs there and I’ve got to replenish almost all of my bundles.” He mused, rocking himself back and then forwards to use the momentum to bring himself back onto his paws again. “I’m afraid I’m not a spry as when I was younger, you’ll have to bear with me and my old creaky bones.” the Salutary jested, before stiffly beginning their short adventure to the borders. | J O Y loneliness is poverty
Although she in some measure knew Valencia had already planned to take the day for herself, Joy still felt the isolation of her young from taking over that of another, whose alleviation of duties would give her the freedom to do what her normal counterparts do. Today Joy sacrificed an immeasurable piece of her youth to give freedom to a peer, she mused. Really, she was avoiding the callow socializations of her equals in the hot springs.
Nevertheless, the title “honorary Salutary’s apprentice” rang in her ears. Quite flattered, her tail swayed, and she couldn’t help but smile in the presence of joyous Cecil. It was impossible not to be inspired by his endlessly vibrant personality, and he always had a story to tell. She realized that she looked forward to spending time with old Cecil more than she looked forward to spending time with the apprentices.
“What say you we get started, Joy? I had planned on heading to the northern border, there’s plenty of herbs there and I’ve got to replenish almost all of my bundles.” Perfect. Her favorite location. Joy dipped her head and prepared to help Cecil on his feet, but he was proud to do it on his own. “I’m afraid I’m not as spry as when I was younger, you’ll have to bear with me and my old creaky bones.”
Joy was endeared and gave him a sincere smile, her flag still waving behind her as she followed next to him; he’d need her closer to him so he could hear better. “That’s alright. I ran the borders this morning, so I’m a bit zonked myself,” she giggled enthusiastically, and left the commons alongside him.

Raisa had risen since he’d left her, content to bode her time grooming the pups. She’d elected to remain a Guardian, although he pressed her multiple times on her decisions. Leading, in her eyes, was best left to wolves that wanted to, and she didn’t need such to be happy. Simply being surrounded by her pups and nurturing the yearlings was enough. And what a wonderful mother she made! She greeted him with a playful, affectionate head bump as he nuzzled her; sanguine eyes shimmering with delight. “What are the plans for today?” Raisa asked eagerly, hoping for something, anything she could summon just a hint of extra excitement for. “The yearlings are going on their first adult hunt,” He began, matter-of-factly. “Twizzle will be joining them shortly. Just keeping a spare eye out. Think he won’t have much to say though, since Hye-Su’s there. She’s a natural leader — just have to hope the others will be willing to give her a listen.” He chuckled. “Simon and Azrath are thrilled, naturally. I think this’ll be good, especially for Simon. You know how hard it’s been for both of them settling in.” Rowan paused, recalling the day when they’d found the two wailing pups, each practically bathed in ash and soot. “Poor things, but this should help. I gave Wingnut, the hunters and the warriors the day off at the Hot Springs too. Cecil, Joy and Val will be joining them after gathering the day’s herbs. A nice, easy day for the lot of us.” “Which means,” Rowan quipped playfully, cocking his head curiously. “We’ve got the whole day to ourselves. Anything you’d like to do love? What’s on your mind?” Tagged: Guardian Raisa

As the growing hunting party comes together, the young male can feel excitement growing in his chest. As Azrath moves to comfort Karini, Simon forces his tail to stop its wagging, shaking out his thick ruff as he waits for everyone to get their shit together. It wouldn’t do to look like a bumbling pup; this was his chance to show everyone just how much he was worth. Blunt claws dig into the earth to still his form; he felt as though ants were crawling through his pelt, urging him to get moving. When (finally!) the group is ready to depart, he practically lurches forward, paws carrying him swiftly to the hunting grounds. It was time for his first hunt!

Helios had woken up after a late night, his late night being him laying in the common grounds, chin on paws, contemplating his life in a pack for the first time. Surprisingly, this had kept him up for hours, and when he had finally drifted off to sleep, he woke up just in time to hear the Alpha mandating the day and some wolves departing for their destinations. From what little he had heard, it seemed the young ones were going to the hunting grounds for some independent hunting and the older (well, middle-aged) wolves were going to the hot springs for a dip. Koro thought of what he should do, himself. While mentoring pups and yearlings gave him a large sense of joy and pride, though he would never show it, Helios didn't want to spoil the kids' fun, and turn what would be good learning and bonding opportunity into the boring, parent-chaperoned field trip. Not that he was like a parent to them. Although he wished it. Helios let a small smile slip onto his face at the thought of more opportunities to mentor the young wolves.
On the other hand (paw?), he could go to the hot springs. The crowd was more his age, more likely to be welcoming, and probably who he should be conversing with more. While he found it difficult to initiate any sort of conversation with these wolves who still felt like they were bordering stranger and acquaintance, all while strangely in the realm of 'peer,' he supposed he should try to let others get to know him better.
Picking up his tail end after having decided, Helios walks on to the Hot Springs, dreading the thought of trying to make conversation.

R A I S ARogue As the question left her maw, her mate replied promptly. The yearlings would be going on a hunt. Their first real adult hunt. She was excited to say the least. The yearlings had been under her care until they were able to fend for themselves, and they had grown so much in the time that she had known them. The thought of them going on a hunt sparked worry about their safety within her, but she was happy to hear that Twizzle would be joining them, to be there just in case something were to possibly go wrong. He spoke of Hye-Su’s prominent leader abilities, and she nodded. The young she-wolf had shown every single pack member that she had a right to her position in the pack, and she remembered months before that Rowan had taken to helping train her. He was the best suited to, as he was quite possibly the best leader figure in the pack, Wingnut being a close second. He brought up the she-wolf soon after, seeing as he had let them all off on an easy day, something that pleased her. You needed balance within a pack. Having the ability to rest and gather one’s self was always nice after working relentlessly hard once they had reached their new territory. Her thoughts ventured to the members not mentioned, which included Joy, Cecil and Valencia. A smidgen of worry rushed over her, but it was replaced with a content knowing as he stated they were going to be herb hunting. That was something menial, but needed to be done of course.
Ghostly pink eyes looked towards her mate. He had asked what she was wanting to do, and she sighed, looking down at the little bundles of fur that were nestled into her side. “I’m honestly not sure. With Sirius and Quinn having kept me in the den for so long, I’ve been itching to take a walk and get some fresh air, but I don’t want to leave them here all by themselves,” She said, looking worriedly over the two of them. “So I guess we’ll just have to stay in for today,” She chuckled sadly. Raisa loved pups, and she loved her own. But her limbs were aching to sprint through their new territory. She had hardly explored their new territory, as she had given birth almost as soon as they had gotten here. She knew that eventually she would have the chance to, as soon as Sirius and Quinn were able to open their eyes and adventure on their own, she would be sure to get the well needed exercise that she was longing for.

Raisa eagerly regarded every word, snowy ears swiveled forwards slightly. His darling was in need of excitement, something tantalizingly intriguing to focus on, and to a certain extent, his everyday updates were more than enough. However, very soon he knew she would feel the urge to crack her back, to stretch her long, slender limbs behind her, and tear through the territory at top speeds, leaving little behind her but kicked up snow. It was only natural after all. There was only so many times Raisa could fuss and preen over one pup pair, and with both being perfectly healthy; eventually her everyday routine grew redundant. “I’m honestly not sure,” She began with a short laugh, contemplating what exactly she wished to do today. “With Sirius and Quinn having kept me in the den for so long, I’ve been itching to take a walk and get some fresh air, but I don’t want to leave them here all by themselves.” Laughter, but not the wholly genuine kind he knew. “So, I guess we’ll just have to stay in for today.” “Oh please Raisa,” he snorted, arching an eyebrow quizzically. “I think they’ve held you hostage long enough now. Go out,” he playfully ordered, picking Sirius up by his brindled scruff and nestling him between large brown paws. “I want you to run until your limbs give out. I can hold down the fort until then. Or, if you would like,” he mused. “Weather’s pleasant enough. No snow. We could carry them out by the banks. Give ‘em both a taste of true cold — and fresh air. I’ll keep them warm there, and you can trot around our Common Grounds till your hearts content. What do you say, Raisa? Shall we?”
